Review Purohit Restaurant And Residency - Mysuru (Mysore)

Arun Kumar
It is a restaurant and a lodge. Very neatly maintained. Worth for money. Very kind and friendly staff. The restaurant is a Gujarathi style. Very tasty food. The only downside was the parking. We had to park our car in front of the restaurant, by the road.
Tara Prägler
Best South Indian meal we had!! Highly recommended! Good money for value. Modern restaurant and good service.
Rakesh R
The dinner was good. All items in the meal were good. We liked it. But they only accept cash and little bad attitude towards customers.

This review is for the food here. It is the place in Mysore where you can have Gujarati/ Rajasthani foods with authentic taste. Gujarati Thali meal is available for lunch and dinner which is tasty served with 2 Sabji, Roti, Rotlo, Dal Rice, Sweet, Farsan, Papad, Salad. Morning breakfast is also available like tea Thepla and Aloo Paratha. Overall recommended place for north Indian food.
Anil Kumar Panchariya
We had great delicious Rajasthani Food here and the taste was also too good. Unlimited Thali in Rs. 250 per person. The cost is slightly high.
RK Shenoy
Had been to restaurant, Great North Indian thali, very tasty food, little crowded
Sanjay Agrawal
Very nice and economical place to have at least one time for vegetarian.
Spurthi Naik

We opted for only dine in, the veg thali for lunch was really good. It was authentic gujrati thali. N for breakfast you will get poori sabji, alu parantha with achar, curd n sabji. You can also take sweets and their special tea. The restaurant is clean, food is good. Value for money. It's a pure veg restaurant.

Gud Restaurant Rajasthani And Gujrati Thail Is Best YOUR memories of north will strike in your mind when u taste it
Palash Rokade
Awesome hot to stay at low costs, also no need to worry about food also they themselves have a famous restaurant specially thali is available in according to your choice so need to worry about choosing of food and the taste is also awesome. If your choice is simple no need to worry and roam here and there. Just go and order the thali which you want like gujrathi,Punjabi, rajhastani thali and all.
Ruchira Guruprasad
The food was amazing. I think this is the best Gujarati food I ever had in Mysore. They serve good portions of meals. When you visit this place make sure you are hungry af.
Maitreya Sharma
First of all the thali is not truely unlimited. You will get only one serving of gulabjamun(1 piece),shrikhand, dhokla and any other item that will tantalize your tastebuds . Rest all is pretty banausic . Most of the dishes served will not leave an indelible mark on your tastebuds . Every person who thinks that the thali is cheap at 180rs is either delusional or extravagantly rich . Still its worthy of a one time

Location wrong
Couldn't find this restaurant. Need proper map. The location shown for this restaurant was very shady and seemed not fit for family.
Sumegha Irashetti
This is heaven for maharashtrians and gujratis in mysore..
As we get the taste of homemade food...
Affordable and delicious only two words are enough to describe it.
This thali has literally everything. Right from chapati to shrikhand and also kadi.
The shrikhand is just awesome......
Must go place
Sandeep
This place behind a theatre in Mysore in centre of the city. Very hard to find but it’s worth n beyond to visit this place. It’s in underground so watch out. Not much display boards as well. I had been there had their thali. Probably the best vegetarian thali I ever had. The taste also no match to other veggi restos in Mysore. It’s neither expensive as well the unlimited meal was around 160 ~ 180 bucks. I recommend to everybody in Mysore who haven’t given it a thot. I would definitely visit again when I find time. 1star less for the ambience cos it’s not even up to the mark.
Asmita Misra
This place is awesome when you are craving a good home cooked thali...they serve food with a lot of love and care...The hospitality is amazing...They wont let you stop eating....The Aam ras (Mango pulp sweet dish) is amazing...The price of thali is also reasonable...When you come to mysore do visit this place for a little Jain touch.
Food Love
Purohit is a good place to have stomach friendly food, taste is good, thepla dhokla , amras amazing..

Ambience is quite average

Price wise quite reasonable and pocket friendly,

Service is average
Bhumika Doshi
If you looking for home made food, less oily, satvik, Jain food then this is the place.

Their only option veg thali is worth to eat.

One subzi, two curries, daal, hot rotis, snacks, salad, chutney, shrikhand, gulabjamun, papad, curd

A very satisfying tasty food. The place is easy to locate as it's in market place however entrance is little weird as it's in basement

No five star ambience However very good service.

Abhay Ashvin
This is one of the few places that serve authentic north indian specific food .

One thing to note is that the parathas do not çome with dahi or butter on top , in fact it comes with an appointment curry and chutney which is very wierd . Anyways . The dough of the parathas is thick but tasty nonetheless.

A good visit if you want a change of cuisine for once
Pankaj Joshi
I used to have my meal here in 2008-2009. Now visited again after 10 years. Food is still awesome. It is must try for any Gujrathi or Maharashtrian staying in Mysore and wants to try homely food.
Aishwarya
Food was ok. Jain thali had potato gravy in it. When I asked the waiter about it, he said people eat it,🤔. Phulkas and the theplas were very good. Nothing else so special about the thali. Ambience was ordinary. Not worth Rs. 180.
Markendeya Teja Puppala
Want to enjoy Gujarati tali....
(lunch ₹150 & Dinner ₹180)
Must try this .....👌
One of the best place for North Indian Thali in Mysuru
I got this place through Zomato ...
Praveen
Too hyped place, few cuisines tasted well & some below par. Maharaja thali wasn’t worth it! I will skip about ambience as this place doesn’t fall in that category.
Tridip Barman
The places remained of my of study days in Gujarat. The food is a replica of what we get in Gujarati mess. I loved the food. The places is quite near to mysuru palace.
Sonali Dixit
Good and simple menu..like homely food.. fast service and polite staff.gujarati or marwadi people must like their thali.i m nt giving one more star just bcoz my kid felt little spicy otherwise one should try atleast once

Been here long back during my training in mysore. I had their gujarati thali and simply love love lovedd it! Each and every dish in the thali was so unique and tasteful you cant just have enough. To me personally, Dhokla was the star and ofcourse their shrikandh is a must!

Location: The restaurant is located is on a busy street near the bus stand. It is not easy to spot it though in the busy streets.

Food: 3/5. Tastes good, presented well, limited menu options. Thali system.

Service: 2/5. The waiters are not aware of the menu options or even the items that they are serving. Also, asking for a second serving could mean a long wait.

Ambiance: 2.5/5. Not the cleanest place.

Value for money: 4/5

Overall: 3/5

Near mysore palace good food nice test clean place its small restaurant its itself big thing that at mysore have gujrati restaurant 2 time visit it enjoyed
Hardik Panchal
Had visited this place in night while returning to Bangalore. Owner was very polite in nature.
They served us unlimited gujarati thali (Rs 180) with many items.. I loved sev tamatar, dhokla, aam ras among of all.
Anusha Srinivasan
Gujju thali- Cost around 170.Taste is below average. Couldn't expect much about the service and the ambiance. An okish place. Little disappointing after reading the positive reviews.
Udaychandra Oruganti
It's just an average place where you get absolutely average Rajasthani (Gujarathi mix) thali. Been here after looking at all the positive reviews, but this place genuinely deserves a rating not more than 3 to 3.5. They serve decent food which is pricey (170/- for thali) for that sort of a place. Service is good and quick though the place is crowded.
Shreyas S
Taste is awesome. Price is 170rs per thali. If u r searching for a gujrathi food, then here it is. Ambiance is not soo great , its a small hotel but thali is extraordinary. It is unlimited thali with kichidi for dinner.
Aditya Gupta
You don't have choice as to what to eat.
As soon as you sit, you get a plate and then food without any notice.
Quality of food isn't as good as you expect to be .
Worst part is they donot accept any type of payment except cash.
Balkrushna Joshi
Even though the food is tatsy but price they charge is too much considering they give limited serving of Farsan (Dhokla in this case) and Sweets.
Rishant Garg
If you want home like food, it is worth spending Rs 170 on this thali, desi ghee, jaggery and vegetables tastes homely too(dal and sometimes sabji is sweet, that is why i gave 4 star). The price might seem high for simple food but it is worth spending this much.

ps: its a buffet.
Meghna Banjan
Being a Gujarati I was thrilled to know that there is a restaurant serving Gujarati food in Mysore! Purohit is the place where I head to when I miss gujju food. I have been going to Purohit since past two years now and their menu for the thali has remained more or less same, I feel they should bring some variation. They serve unlimited hot phulkas with ghee , bajre ki roti, three sabzis, daal, rice, papad, dhokla, salad, pickle, curd, srikhand and gulab jamun as a part of their thali. For dinner they have khichdi as well. They also serve thepla, poha and poori bhaji for breakfast. It's a humble set up so @don't expect anything posh but it's a must visit restaurant if you are in Mysore.
Naveen Baid
This place is a basement scam through & through. As I waited to be seated the owner let a few of his known folks sit ahead. On my turn I asked for a gujarati thali, after all, they advertised they serve atleast 4/5 different regional thalis right from gujarati, marwari to even Bengali. In reality they have just one really substandard thali. The 'Gujarati' I asked for did not have the sweet daal, which the guy then insisted that this was the normal stuff they serve for every thali. On asking what all does a thali have, the guy hesitantly said 'sab kuch', he had not served about 2 items he was supposed to. As I complained another lady too, mentioned she came in asking for a Bengali thali and was disappointed, (the owner says ladies hoke how dare she raise her voice to protest) when I was leaving the owner mentioned that the bill was 370. I asked him from the breakup, and he immediately said 360. As if it was premeditated that he'd try his luck. Utter disappointment. This guy has nothing to do with the known name of purohit. It's all a sham and a scam to trick tourists. Sad to see this happening.
Aarushie Sharma
I along with my family went to this hotel after seeing the reviews on zomato. But much to our disappointment the food quality was not as good as has been described in the reviews. And waiter's behavior was very rude while serving food. Our experience has been bad!
Shaurya Ratna
Ultimate food with unlimited servings... The taste is unique and delicious... Seating is a little small
Ambience -7/10
Food - 9/10
Service -9/10
Value for money-10/10

Cost: 250 per thali
Taste: 4/5
Ambience: 3/5
Service: 4/5
Must try: dhokla
There are two purohit restaurants on the same road. I went to the one which was in the basement as this is the one which is popular. They serve only pulkas, Gujarati and Rajasthani thalis. When I went there, they had only Gujarati thali. The taste was good. Ambience is basic and service is fast. The only place in Mysore that serves authentic Gujarati and Rajasthani meals.
PS: you need to be in an empty stomach to finish the whole thali.
Himanshu Vora
Gujju thali unlimited. Dhokla was missing when I went for dinner as I had reached early. Buttermilk served was very cold and thin and not of good taste. Food was good. Price was affordable.
Rajendra Patwardhan
Homely food.. they do serve maharashtrian, gujrati food, u can find your dish fully filled with variety of subjis, fulka, rice and sweets, quality and quantity also very good... Convenient location.. overall good experience..
Smitha P
Not matching the hype, average food and lousy serving, the waiters dosent have any communication with the customers.. the thali costs about 150rs and the buttermilk is 40rs..felt it is overpriced..specially after having Gujarati thali in Gujarat the one here tastes below average
Smriti R Nath
The best food is available at purohith! If you're looking forward for a change from regular south Indian food, then purohith is a must!
Ambiance is normal, service is very fast. The desserts here are great. And of course, the unlimited food at a very reasonable price is the best!
Harish K
Visitors to Mysuru - you can try the Unlimited Gujarati - Rajasthani meals here.

Place is in a bylane behind KSRTC stand. Purohit is in the basement of a hotel.
Forget parking space. Ambiance is very ordinary. And it gets crowded very fast. Then you can see people scurrying around and lots of noise in the air.

However the thali is great. They have green chilli, achar etc on table.
Thali includes great rotis, dhokla, basic salad, gul roti / sweet boli, rice, 4 gravies - dal subzi was tad sweet, aloo subzi , paneer subzi, one more subzi. I did not find the kadi though
Desserts are gulabjamun, shrikand - tasty however small portions

I did feel Rs.200 was little expensive for the thali but then you can gorge as much as you want.

Visit here only if unlimited lunch is on your mind.
LiveLoveEat
The thaali has some yum items. Bajra roti, hot phulkas, 3 sabji, dal, kadhi, srikandh and jamoon. All lip smacking, finger licking good! Ambience is non existent. Food is outstanding! And the service is so warm, makes one feel at home. Recommended!

Tried the khichdi kadhi plate. Wow! So simple. But so tasty and healthy.

Yummy breakfast too. Tried the aloo paratha and thepla! Mouthwatering!

———————
Garam thepla for nashta! Superb!
Nikhil Aggarwal
Purohit is a small, no frills restaurant. Ambience and seating is basic. Pure vegetarian. It is located in a small bylane in main area of Mysore but you can reach easily by an auto or with help of Google maps.

It is always almost fully occupied. They serve Gujarati thali with numerous items like 4-5 curry vegetables, kadhi, dal, dhokla, rice, khichdi, chapattis, shrikhand, papad, pickle, chaas(buttermilk) ...all this for Rs. 150 with unlimited serving. It becomes Rs 170 with additional sweet dish.

Very good taste, clean and fresh preparation and service with a smile!!
Venkatesh Kulkarni
If you're super hungry and looking for a good veg restaurant, head to this place! They serve unlimited thalli at 170 and it's worth it! The food is Gujarati+Rajasthani but will be liked by everyone! Me and my friends had a great time here, however it's main focus is on taste and quantity so you may have to let go the features offered by fine dine restros.
Arjun Tawao
Its very good palce to eat Jain food gujarati rajshthani thali its a pure jain restaurant in mysore and neat and clean its famos daal bati churma dhokala thepla khichdi kadi rotala with gol ghee and more..............
Piyush Ranjan
Absolutely third grade place. Does not deserve even 2 star. Zomato ratings seem to have been manufactured. This place had bad hygiene, pretty ordinary food.
Harish Kumar
Had a Gujarathi thali meal. At Rs 170 the meal felt overpriced here, but that is probably because their target customers are mainly tourists, being closely located to the bus stand. With regards to the meal itself, the rotis served with 4 varieties of sabjis were fairly good..the rest of the meal was ordinary fare. A cup of aam ras (mango juice) served with the meal was delicious and thick in consistency.
Varun Suresh
Was in this surrounding to get my car's punchered tyre inflated. N it was lunch time, also my Jain friend was so happy to spot this restaurant so he pulled us in. It's a typical north indian thali restaurant. Completely diffrent masala n taste experience, if ur a south indian from Mysore Mandya region. It's unlimited thali but rate is on the higher side. It's just behind the Mysore bus stand. N the servers do speak decent Kannada which is appreciable. If ur a north indian lost in Mysore thinking where to eat do visit here

#200thReviewAlert🙂
During my recent sojourn in Kodagu-Mysuru,I had an equally amazing food trail exploring the Kodava cuisine(exclusive to Kodagu aka Coorg) but sigh, that place isn't on Zomato. While ending my trip on a high note,I decided to drop by at this place to get a taste of the North Indian fare in Mysuru and check ifthe 'South Indian flavours' overpower it!
Purohit is an amalgamation of the Gujarati- Rajasthani cuisines and situated in a bylane aka Mohalla and I was lucky to find it(kudos to Google Maps for being helpful at times!😋).The ambiance is pretty simplistic, nothing to rave or rant about, the dilemma being that they could do with a proper washroom rather than a makeshift ill lit one(does count at times!)
Since I did drop by a bit earlier than the standard dining time,I did have to wait for some time before the thali arrived but having the dishes in a piping hot fashion, who won't mind the wait! The thali had 5 gravies(pretty savage in taste),dhokla(arrived when I was half past the devouring phase, delicious!),gul roti(jaggery and bajra rotla, dollops of ghee made it terrific!),mirchi-besan dish(don't know what it's called but loved it!),roti, achar, moong dal khichadi(heavenly!),the standard salad, gulab jamun(soft and succulent,no further description needed!),and the 🌟 of the evening, the evergreen aamras(mango puree),all of this, unlimited thankfully at 170 bucks.Pretty much VFM at the best!
The service was a sore spot though. They had 3-4 servers but they were busy fidgeting with selfies and youtube and needed frequent calls to get the dishes but nevertheless, they were affable enough not to warrant a hearing or two😋Overall, Purohit(implies a priest in Hindi, might conjure to the purity/sanctity perspective!) did help me end my trip on a high and thankfully, they did their job by keeping the 'Northie' flavours intact in good ol' South India!😃
Goooooood Place for Gujarati food Thali.
Jain Thali also available with all varieties.
And also unlimited food. U all must visit this hotel.

Paras Singh
This place serves a mix of rajasthani and Gujarati buffet in just ₹280.The taste is awesome.Must try for everybody. You will get a feel of little of little chauki dhani ,not in terms of ambience but in food taste.
Zachary Dey
I checked into this place for lunch and let me tell you if you're looking for a fancy pansy place and fansy pansy food then this place won't meet your expectations...but if you're looking for simple vegetarian food in a cleanish environment then this place hits the spot. They serve simple yummy veggie food and for 170 bucks you can get unlimited food. It's thali system and cuisine is Gujju/Maaru. The day I went they served is gavar ki sabzi (legume curry), aloo ki tari wali sabzi (potato with thin gravy ), dahi kabuli chana (chickpea curry in curd), sambar ( south indian daal), freshly mashed mango juice (so thick that it was almost like a rich sauce), the softest gulab jamun ever, curd and rotis with ghee on them. The food was well cooked and delicious. And it's truly unlimited coz there's no limit on how much mango mash and gulab jamun you can eat. Do try this place... The attendants really want to feed you... You can eat as much as you want with no extra charges...... Simplicity at its best.
Shishir Dixit
It's typically a Indian restaurant with variety of food from all over the country. Menu items changes everyday and the quality and quantity is very good.
Kinjal Macwan
Being a gujarati away from gujarat , this place seems like a dream come true. Went to have gujarati thali along with 3 of my south indian friends. This was the first time they were tasting gujarati food, so pressure was on me, that they should like the food. After eating they thanked me a lot for bringing them to this place to experience the taste of gujarat. The food was tasty , service was good too. One minus point is that, the ambience and seating area is not like a restaurant, it's little bit below average, but then the food is delicious, so that point is covered up.
Maulik Doshi
If you are looking for Gujarati taste in Mysore, this is the place. They also serve jain food. Ambience is not so good, but there is no better option for Gujarati Thali. 5* for serving the taste of Gujarat.
Nishith Sharma
Do not judge a book by it's cover and do not judge a restaurant by it's ambience. The main purpose of a restaurant is to feed you and this restaurant fulfils that purpose with 5 stars.

If you are at Mysore this is the place to be.. such an awesome food and service, you will always end up eating more than u could digest. Totally worth it.
ExploreFoodWithAkhilya
Food taste: ❤️❤️❤️

Ambience: ❤️

Must try displace: Normal gujrathi thali

At all worthy: ❤️❤️

Waiting time: nope

Service: Good

Extra vat or taxes: no

If you are the one who likes to try different cuisines be sure to drop by and try the gujarati cum rajasthani thali. The place is close to the mysore palace and easy to find. South India mostly has only typical south indian food, this was a good break.
Sandeep Deshpande
If you get fed up with Dosas and Idlies, and wish to have veg food, then this is a good place. Veg thali is popular here. Ambience is not so good as it's is too overcrowded in the afternoons.
Gulab jamuns are good here.

Service: 3.0 / 5.0
Ambience: 2.5 / 5.0
Value for money: 3.0 / 5.0
Taste: 3.5 / 5.0
Rahul Rampure
Perfect place to go for Gujurathi thali in Mysuru. Unlimited thali @ Rs. 150 only. Ambience wise it's in old style, no fancy but what stands out is the taste. As it is run by Gujarati's, you get the authentic taste. Every thing in the Thali is delicious. Try it!
Sneha
I think Purohit is a place every Gujrati or Rajasthani will cherish in mysore.I think the thali is delicious with all the types of vegetables properly cooked and tasty too.
Snacks in the thali like dhokla and khaman were delicious. And a glass of buttermilk to complete the meal was a must.
Ambience could have been better.
Kirtika Gupta
₹150/thali that too unlimited!? Not bad!!
Ambience: was ok or I rather say good for thali place.
Staff: polite and friendly
Quality: just like homemade food.. I don't know was it timing (we were there by 7 pm) or what they had only one thali mixed one with Rajasthani kadhi, south Indian Sambhar, Punjabi dal, Gujarati sabzi, and so on. So they didn't have specific thali.
Price: amazingly pocket friendly

Ankit Gupta
After a long time in Mysore got a restaurant that serve pure north Indian food, unlimited food in just 150₹ food quality is excellent ambient is ok
Purvi
The best place fr rajasthani thali in mysore....Shrikand (sweet ) is so yumm... all the items they served us is so yumm... Rice is cookrd properly ... maintained well.....
Been to this place while cmng bak frm nanjungud by seeing in zomato... Thanks fr zomato to get in touch wit gud food places

The best place to have rajasthani food in Mysore. The food is equivalent to home cooked food. Gulab jamoon , papad , phulka, sabji all in rajasthani flavours. Must visit place if u r in Mysore. The place is of typical desi style and the food is delicious. Even they provide jalebi if you tell them which is awesome.
Animesh Katyayan
Purohit is a treat for vegetarians who want a decent and cheap place to eat. You get a tasty thali at a small price of Rs. 150. The food was awesome. The chapatis and subzi are clearly good. The number of different chutneys they provide you adds flavor to your experience. Salad and dhokhla are very nice. I would personally recommend khichdi for khichdi lovers. Shrikhand as dessert is also finest I've ever had. You can even have lassi and buttermilk as side drinks. They are also nice as I have tried them both.
Ambiance is something that the place lacks. It is decorated as a normal restaurant but trust me don't go on appearances. The place is clean and you can eat your heart's full.
Service is great. You don't have to wait long for anything. Any request is met promptly and with a smile. Staff is very polite too.
Anubhav Ranjan
Perfect place for having north indian food in Mysore.
I have been there in search of good food in Mysore and it was best to be here.
Fix price thali serving with unlimited fills.
You cant get more than this at this price in north india as well.
I loved this and will suggest to everyone going Mysore.

Had a talk with owner as well. He is from jodhpur and very good person.

If you are premium classy people and get impressed by location and service quality then please dont go there.
This place is only for north indian foodies.

Salad, 5-6 veg, chapati, chhaachh, sweets, shri khand, papad, rice and much more. All unlimited @ 150 Rs.

Loved it !!

Food is good but Its not actually a restaurent,But a 'bhojanalaya' kind of place. They dnt give you a menu card for lunch/dinner as they offer thali meals alone.Another issue is location. We'l have to walk by lanes thats congested n very crowdy
Sumit
I visited this place after reading excellent reviews about this restaurant. After searching through narrow lanes, we had to wait for 10 mins as people were waiting in the queue for lunch. To my disappointment, the food was very spicy with oil dripping off, maybe to discourage people from asking for multiple helpings. Aamras and phulkhas was good. However very slow service and had to request multiple times for service. Please check for bill amount as the owner tends to charge more. Especially with kids who maynot eat much.
Wont recommend for families. For Bachelors may be a ok deal.
Ambience: 1/5
Food taste: 2/5
Service: 2/5
Cost: 3/5
Avinash Topani
Unlimited pure north Indian thali at just a normal price. If someone is bored of all south Indian stuff then you must visit this. After long time we ate 'ghar ki jaisi roti'. At last in sweets shrikhand is served. A perfect meal.
Aboli
The best gujju thali ever. Went here on a summer afternoon, after visiting mysore zoo. Was starving... And need i say it lived upto the expectation. Its excellent! And being little diet concious, made this a cheat day. Had countless hottttt fulkas smeared with ghee. Super curries and awesome sweets.. Yummilicious dhokla! Ohh its totally worth the effort of finding it in the first place. (Dnt be fooled by another resto by the same name. This original one is in the besement of a lodge and is just at the start og ganesh temple oneway. Near apple hotel.)
Kritya Nand Jha
Pure north indian thali. If u r bored of eating south indian food and dont want to spend much, this is the place to eat. Home made phulka with ghee, kheer, dahi. Veg sabji is not ao good, but eatable. Must go once. ambience 2/5. Value for money 4.5/5. Quality of food 3.5/5.

This resto was a good discovery during our stay at mysore. Very reasonable and food is simply delicious. Gujarathi thaali is so yummy. Buttermilk 'chaas' or majjige which we call is perfect.
The fresh dhoklas made me stay back at the restaurant so as to keep eating all the time. A must visit for a pure veggie.

During our Mysore visit, I must admit that one of our discovery was this Purohit Restaurant. Its a paradise for Rajasthani and Gujarati foods. The people are so generous and welcoming. The ambiance is like homely and the taste is like Ghar ki khana. And above all the price is reasonable that is kinda unbelievable. Really nice place, nice people and of course awesome food.
Rev Jaisingh
This place serves really fresh dhoklas ! And the chaas is too good.We have gone there a few times for lunch ...the hot rotis are nice but somehow felt extremely thirsty after a meal at purohit every single time.So that feeling makes me wonder about going there again.the raita and methi rotis are tasty too.if ure looking for a place that leaves you with a tummy all set to burst..this is the place to go;-)...the service is very good if you head there before the afternoon rush begins(12:30 to 1 slot).
Raj Kundalia
Being a Gujarati Infoscion, you will definitely hear about this restaurant and would surely visit this place once, just because well Gujarati, I needn't say more. I won't say that I had the best time, but it definitely felt good to eat there. Service was perfect. Surrounding good. Food, well it's not best, I would say, it's good enough. Vegetable (Sabji) are tasty. Dal was okay. Rotis, I don't know, I hate eating rotis in Mysore, but they still were okay. Sweets were good. I ate 'Khaman Dhokla' as Farsaan and they were good with chutney. Buttetmilk or our local beer- Chhaas was good too. Don't miss the Paan, just outside the restaurant.

If you're tired of going to fancy expensive places and yet crave for your typical home made tasty food, then this is the place to be. Absolutely yummy and authentic Gujarati and Rajasthani food - a meal is ₹150 which is super cheap considering how yummy and well made it is. Their khadi is to die for! I never miss out on their kichdi either(although, that's only for dinner and not lunch). My comfort food is right here :)

Located behind Mysore bus stand , This is a decent restaurant with prompt service and affordable. Nice stopover to have unlimited and tasty Gujrati thali.

It's a small hotel it doesn't have a great ambiance but it will provide you great food. I missed to take the pics as I was excited to taste it. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner from there. They are providing very good Gujarati food. Forgot it's name. The cost is very less and food is really great. Recommended to all who is roaming in Mysore.

Amazing Gujarati food. After being in South for 1 and half year, got the Gujarati Thali of my satisfaction. Good change in the clutter of Idli Dosa everywhere. 😀😀

Lost in the city of Myosre, I had been her with my bestie just because I was homesick and wished to have anything that would remotely be related to Maharahtrian food. It took is almost an hour at noon to locate this place. After entering, frankly, I was quite surprised with the variety of the food.. And at a very low price. Papad, pickle, dhokla, rotis, veggies, curd, dal, kadhi and rice.. A full meal and took damn delicious with the authentic Gujarati taste. This place is worth a try. But beware, you might need to wait in a queue to get a seat.

This place is almost lost in the street of mysore, one of the most pocket friendly buffet i had ever tried, mostly consist of Rajasthani items, sambhar is found almost every where in mysore so wonder why they are serving sambhar into the thali, papad, salad, gulab jamun, kadi pakoda and many more item is there to decorate your plate.talking about food it is very normal as you can find it in every normal restaurant, places is overhyped due to more item in less price but food is normally delicious, staff only understand broken hindi, kannada,so communication barrier is there but staff overall is serving to their core and fast enough and make they make sure that food item is properly served to you.ambience is very normal, almost zero ambience due to oldness of this restaurant .finding it maybe a difficult task as it situated behind the sangam talkies in the streets.ambience is not perfect for the luxury or fine dining, but it is one of the must try as it is very much popular in mysore.
Food-3.5
Ambience-2
Staff-3.5

If you love Gujarati or Rajasthani food then definitely it's a perfect place! It is located on the basement of MTR Residency behind Suburban Bus Stand.

Though they serve breakfast also, it is more famous for it's 'Unlimited Thali' starting from 12pm. Ambiance is not great, it looks like regular college mess/canteen with wooden table and benches. You can see tubelights switched on everytime as there is lack of natural light.

They serve just thali post 12pm which is unlimited except Gulab Jamun, Dhokla and Srikand. He might give you his kidney but not the extra jamun as they are very strict with their policy :D

Methi ka Thepla which is a popular Gujarathi Roti which is thick and will be mildly spicy, they do that for morning breakfast but you can get that on demand or by taking your camera out :D

Unlimited Tawa Roti is served along with one oily yet superb semi dry subji, Gujarathi Khadi (similar to 'Majjige Huli') made of butter milk & Channa/Kidney Beans, Aloo Subji and Dal. FYI they serve a small cup of Srikandh which will be sweet but actually it is a side dish for roti. Srikandh is a fantastic option to eat with roti. One can have 5 to 10 rotis based on their appetite.

Dhokla is soft, fluffy and good to eat. They serve soft phulkas on demand. They serve white rice but if you go on the evening you will get 'Dal Kichidi' for the same price.

Overall you are not bothered about the ambiance then perfect place to try Gujarathi food.

Price: 150rs

Taste: 4.5/5
Ambiance: 2.5/5
Service: 4.5/5
Value For Money: 4/5

A decent Gujarati style food in centre of mysore. This place is near Palace. Near Bustop. No parking near by and crowded place to park your vehicle. So park your vehicle near palace and walk towards it.
Hot pulkas and ghee and 3 varieties of curries. Dhokla and srikand stomach full.
Its all unlimited. Place is small. Normal seatings but comfortable.
Thali is priced 120 or 150 not sure dont remember.
But if you need Gujarthi or Rajasthani food in mysore this is the place.
Service is very good and prompt. They ask you many a times repeated for more pulkas or rotis. Very impressed with the service.

Scores,

Ambience: 3/5
Value for Money: 4/5
Food: 4/5
Service: 3/5

Overall: 3.5 / 5

Serves you with delicious Gujarati dishes. Unlimited thali with 3 sabzis, daal , shrikhand, one more sweet, papad , fresh hot tava Roti's and rice.
Serves namkeen (farsan for Gujarati's) too but at times its in limited quantity .
End it up with a glass full of Chaas (buttermilk ) *extra charge.
If you hail from western India, surely go visit once.
Worth the price.
Mohit Behal
The unlimited thali..the delicacies of Rajasthan and Gujarat, the home-like feel and not to forget the extra ghee that they keep on pouring onto your chappatis! It's a place where in you can forget all you diet charts and eat your heart out. Also to mention, the excellent hospitality stands as a differentiator. My recommendation: Try out the Rajasthani thali and the khichidi. Simply mouth watering!
