Coastal garden...... The name says it all... Place for fish lovers.. right before you enter Mysore via KRS. Must visit to know the taste of Manglorean style food and staff is very friendly. And reasonable prices with quality in taste. This place is not only for food lovers. The one who want to spend your quality time in a standard bar come restuarant. This is best suggested place to go... Enjoy the chill weather with such a quality delicacy. Thank you coastal garden. 😍😍😍😍

Good garden restaurant in Mysore. Place is lit at night and has a huge spacious open space. The food is above average not great but you could visit here couple of times because of the ambiance. We ordered chicken spring rolls, crispy corn, chicken manchow soup, chicken 65 and chicken fried rice and all food items were great. Service is on spot and the guy who served us food was very helpful.

Good Manglorean food, fish thalli was great except for the rasam like thing. Gravy of chicken thalli was the same as fish. But very tasty. Silver fish rava fry was awesome. Open parking under the hot Mysore sun, gets you down to mother earth after your enjoyable beer and meal. Little play area for kifs. Service was prompt, friendly and helpful. Seating in the cabanas at side of main hall was cosy and cool.

Nice ambiance, The huts are neat n clean with fan. Food are at reasonable rates. We tried Chicken Ghee Roast , Chicken lollipop which was good 😊 we ordered Biryani too but it was not hot n not up to the mark. Rest everything like parking facilities and environment is good 👍🏻

Food and ambience very good. A special mention on the sea food menu. The Mangalore style preparation was very good. Vegetarian food, especially north Indian items were. not up to the mark. Pricing very much on the higher side for City like Mysore.

We had been for a class reunion, and were given a large table in a cosy corner all to ourselves! Space is not in short supply here. The staff spared no efforts to make the event memorable, with no request being too little or too much. We had a great time, with some very nice starters and food. I recommend the Chinese churmuri and the dal khichdi.

A great cuisine and affordable for sure, am talking of ambience it was good. They sure do know how to keep the customers happy, am really happy with the customer service and waiters were eagerly waiting to help out or to take orders. They have got a huge menu of veg as well as non-veg food, and they have most the drinks from cheap to real expensive ones too. They have got big screens for sport matches and sometimes even movie night... They have smoke free halls too, which is really good and you can bring kids here. They also have parking lots. The cost isn't pocket friendly or expensive either

Good Place to eat, drink and dance. Some what problem in ordering as we don't know kannada and they don't know other. Reasonable prices and good menu. Awesome location and beautiful dining spot.

Wanna taste some authentic Sea Food in Namma Mysuru?? Try "Coastal Garden" 🙂
1) It has both Indoor and Outdoor sitting arrangements, a Bar, Ample Parking Space, Play Area for kids and Courteous Staff.
2) Coastal Garden offers wide varieties of coastal dishes which sea food lovers will love it.
3) Ambience was calm but the table wasn't clean because they haven't changed the table cloth.
4) Coming to food- I ordered Neer Dose with Tomato Curry which was delicious, Anjal Fish Tawa Fry- It was fried using coconut oil which gave me an authentic taste of coastal region and it was very very tasty and a must try, Korean Prawns Fry was very bad which was a big no no!
5) Prices were fine! Not very expensive and not so cheap.
I would say a must visit place to all you sea food lovers.

Decent mangalorean seafood. We had the fried Kane fish that was very fresh, masala prawns and a value for money seafood thali that was as served with mackerel fish curry and a fried sardine

Two separate places, Indoor restaurant and Garden restaurant. Indoor is for family and outdoor one for booze. Food is descent. Nothing too fancy.

Seafood is good -3.5/5
Chicken and mutton are okay - 2.5/5
Vegetarian dishes are descent again - 3/5.

Drinks are available and added bonus is you can bring your own booze as well. Service I must say is poor. Have to wait 15 minutes for someone to come take order. Once placed however, the scenario is different. Serving time is 15 minutes at max.

Value for money - 1/5
Highly overpriced given the quality and quantity of food.

All my rating is for the express service and the taste and for the spacious arena there,if u and friends want some place to hangout 🍻🥃 this place is right and you can take beverages there. 😊

Great place for a low budget party. Let me tell u why. The seating arrangements are great. Ample parking space with security. U can bring beer from outside and drink it here with no one as much as raising an eyebrow. And the food. It's pretty decent taste. And pricing. Super affordable. In short had a great time.

Must visit restaurant in Mysuru.
They have different seating area depending on requirement like a large dining area, a hut and a open space.
Signature cuisine is Coastal type . They have a board which indicates the special dishes of the day. Spacious parking area and ambient dining for both lunch and dinner. Very responsive staff. The place is packed most of the time.
Must try special chicken tandoori platter and neer dosa.
Nithya
The place looks good.... Food is also good if u noe wat to order... I am basically not a fan of sea food like fish... But my friend actually liked the fish there... So it's up to your taste... I didn't like the fish because it was cooked in coconut oil... But the neer dosa is good...

Visited this place and ordered Bhutai (sardine) fish fry, as a starter. Terrific yummy preparation. As a main course had Bangda fish curry with boiled rice & neer dosa and coconut chutney. Both were very nicely and deliciously made. Ended with Angal fish fry, which was superbly done and a real big fish.

Overall I rate this at 4.0/5.0

On our way from Mysore to Bangalore and we were looking for some good eateries on the way for lunch! After some googling and reviewing we chose Coastal garden. I must say we made a good choice.
The ambience is a semi open feel and the service is quick. We ordered chilled beer, prawn fry ( special dish of the day ) and neer dosa with chicken curry. We loved all that we ordered.
Good place and pocket friendly!
Santhosh Bhat
Went there for the first time. We were 4 of us.
Ordered fish curry (Bangda), neer dosa, chicken sukka, prawn rava fry.

The curry & Sukka was really made well.
Neer dosa could have been better

I'd definitely recommend this place.

Next week I'm in Mysore again. Plannig to visit this

A good place to visit on a sunny day. Refreshing ambience with the shacks. Good food..and drinks. The service can be a little better wit quick and effective response. All-over a decent place.

A very good place in Mysore, which has both inside & outside sitting arrangements. Their sea food is speciality, especially rawa fry fish. Anyways it won't disappoint you with its other offerings in the menu, be it veg or non veg. Courteous staff and overall a very clean place with lush green lawn.
Raja Sinha
Nice embiance. Food is also good. 3.4/5 for food. You will have to wait for a while for your order to arrive. The service is OK. The place is very economical. Kabab is nicely flavoured. Kulcha is just for name sake..Much like a naan. Lime soda is varies every time you order.

My experience in this restaurant is not so good I have been there twice but I don't like it's food service is quite slow but you must try mitha paan just near the entry gate of this restaurant .

Food-3.8
Service-3
Ambience-4
Went for a friend's birthday treat...we sat inside a guy which gave a feel of private atmosphere. This place serves alcohol as well though they do not have a elaborate menu only regular ones are available.A nice family place for weekend.

Coastal Garden is the taste of coastal region. I like the idea of having a typical coastal menu with red rice and stuff. Which makes Mysore more like a home to coastal native people. The red rice taste quite good. They have both 'dabba' (I don't think I spelt it right) and a fine dinning. The food taste amazing. Luscious curry and french fries with masala were my thing. The prawn rice taste delicious. Definitely a place to revisit.

Food- 5❤
Ambience- 4
Service- 3.5
At least once in a month we find a reason to go to coastal!! Two reasons-
One-The mouth-watering food ofcourse!! , and two-Beer with that fiery chicken (deep fry) is just a perfect combination. Here, are my all time favorites from the coastal garden.I would highly recommend to try these.
Chicken deep fry
Chicken ghee roast
Neer dosa with tomato curry/fish curry
Palak rice
Fish thali
Mangalorian food is the focus here. All the fish varieties are also palatable . They will never disappoint you!! 😇

Horrible food. Paneer was hard, Prawns were raw, even the masala was under cooked. chicken was dry and over cooked. Service was not good. Overall worst experience

Ambiance: 3.5/5
Service: 3/5
Food: 3/5

They basically have three type of seating arrangements:
1. Open garden - They use plastic furniture, which is understandable since it's in the open but the problem lies in the lighting. The place has small lamp pillars of a person's height but unfortunately half of them just don't work! It got so dark that it was hard to even read the menu. Had to pull out my phone to use it's flashlight for it.

2. A covered family area - Thing about this part is that smoking (and probably drinking too) isn't allowed here. It's right opposite to the entry and I really found this part to be very well lit, well decorated and decent looking in context to the other parts.

3. A party hall - Crowded, congested and dull. A party was going on and it really didn't look too well as per the ambiance.

Service: I happened to see two aspects of it. First the floor manager cum waiter. The guy who was looking after our table really looked like he was forced to work there. He was rude, unprofessional and chewing a gum during duty hours. We requested him thrice for 'Menu Cards' and the second two times he just snapped back saying 'Please be patient' and forgot that he had to give them to us. It was just as if he wanted the customers to go away and have a good time or something.

Although the second aspect was very different. The servers were quick. We didn't have to wait much for stuff like Roti, Neer Dosa and all. Generally restaurants make you keep waiting for such things.

Food: The food wasn't the best but it was better than what I had expected. I'd recommend the following:
1. Chilly Paneer
2. Chicken Ghee Roast with Neer Dosa - Trust me, it's a deadly finger licking combination. You'll thank me for it later.
3. Chicken Tikka Masala - Curry item in main course. It really had a very rich taste.

The day we went, while having dinner it had started raining so the staff had to move the tables in areas under shed. Thankfully they were quick to do that but the place got all cramped and congested.

Not highly recommended but yeah, worth a visit at least.

Been here for about 15 times. treason being they give us 10% discount for our company :P
Coming to the review, Was a great fan of this place initially with the quality coastal food they serve and the ambience they have. Service is not bad.
At time you find the staff a bit stiff , i thinks its because of the work load they have as this place is never empty even on weekdays.
Would have been giving 4 if not for the recent experiences with the staff. Never the less, can be visited again and again for the food quality and ambience.

Visited this place recently for lunch. We were recommended to go to this place to get authentic Manglorean cuisine and some really spicy food.
The restaurant wasnt difficult to find and had good parking space. Getting inside the compound, there was a central dining space with many tables. To the right side were some huts which offered more privacy.
We ordered Neer dosa, Fish thali meals, Masala Pomfret fry, Prawn ghee roast, and the chicken curry.
Neer dosa: It was very soft and almost perfect.
Pomfret Masala Fry: The best of the lot. Yum.
Prawn Ghee Roast : Again , amazing. This fit the tagline Finger licking good.
Fish Thali Meals: Not so good. The curry wasnt good enough, the fish curry was bland and it couldnt really be called a thali.
Chicken curry: Not so good. Lacked the spiciness of the other items.

Pros:
1. Good spicy food
2. Nice ambience
3. Good for groups and families
4. Great service!!
5. Good parking space

Cons:
1. The thali meals needs improvement

The restaurant is packed on weekends and the food is just OK but it's a great place to beat the summer heat in the evenings as they have an open air garden restaurant also. The waiters at times are glued to the projector screen and can get a bit annoying when u ask them for a menu or the bill and they don't get it to you.

Spicy food is addictive that's a known science
😁 I have been to coastal way too many times & it's one of my favorites in Mysore.
It's also probably the only place where they serve all your beer brands.
So they have this really amazing "FooFoo" (read hot) 'chicken deep fry' which is just a perfect accompaniment to a chilled mug of Beer 🍺. Another specialty is their soft softtt 'neer dosa' & tomato curry.
Don't miss the heavenly 'chicken ghee roast' mangalorean style. Damn I think I'll never get over authentic mangalorean food 😀
Thumbs up to all their fish curries & 'Fish thali' too, which is like really reasonable.
I absolutely dig their 'Palak rice' even though it just looks like a green blob, don't worry! Just put the fun in your mouth.
Coastal for me is a place full of memories from office parties to our own little parties.
The food is really YUMMY the ambience is good in the evenings. Service is well.. Not bad. Total value for money.
Go to this place with a bunch of friends during a match grab a beer & dig into their amazing non-vegetarian varieties.
A full 5 for the bucket full of amazing memories I have here.

Had been here on a Sunday . Was not very packed . Serves great coastal food . Be it the fish , crab or squid . U can grab a drink here though it doesn't have a bar attached . Decent place for a family . Has got outdoor as well as indoor service . As we had been for lunch we chose indoors . Ordered Chicken Manchow and Hot & Sweet soup . D manchow appeared a little bland. Had ordered Mutton Pepper Dry , Szechuan Chicken , Kane Rava Fry & Crab masala for starters . D mutton & chicken dish was very delicious & we got what we ordered . While the fish was overdosed with rava , not to my liking just palatable . The crab masala was the highlight of the day . Done with coconut oil if was delectable . For the main course we ordered Neer Dosa along with Naati Koli Curry & Kane Fish Curry . D dosas were good while the curries were nothing great to talk bout . The service was quick & prompt .

Go there if u want to try coastal food .

The best south Indian fishes you get in Mysore region.

1. Order for boiled rice or Neer Dose with pomplet masala fry or prawn masala fry (Goes well if you are a typical south coastal area person)
2. Kane tava fry
3. Angal masala fry
4. Prawn masala

You won't get desserts here. Only fruit salads and cup ice cream.

I went to this restaurant 2weeks back.. Am a manglorean so coastal food is one of the things I crave for n also am particular about it. Coastal garden is bang on on this.
Loved the chicken sukka n anjal masala fry. Authentic taste.
We also tried tandoori pomfret, chilly mushroom, silver rava fry, pepper chicken(tandoor)..n ordered fruit punch to quench our thirst.
In the end we ordered fried rice which tasted amazing.
Everything was delicious and the quantity was superb..
The ambience isn't anything special..
Prices are very reasonable.
Earlier I used to rely on poojari's fish land, but now this is the ultimate place in Mysore.
The place is quite big..there are four sections, outdoor, indoor, party hall(which they use to accommodate people if hall is free) and the hut section..
It is family friendly..I will recommend this as a must try for coastal food.
The Constant Foodie
Visit this place regularly...the sea food is really good. The chicken chettinad is to die for...the naans and other breads are unreasonably pricey though....must tries also include...chicken ghee roast, crab roast, pomfret fry etc.
Satrajit Das
Outstanding Mangalorean and Coastal cuisine in Mysuru. We had the Tandoori pomfret, Prawn Masala and the Muton Sukha - all of them had a delectable mangalorean taste. The mutton was a little too coconutty, I felt; but good nevertheless.

Being a Bong, I'm a little picky about my fish and they were as fresh as it can be, right out from the Cauvery or the Arabian sea.

The neer dosa made a perfect combination and the icing on the cake was the chilled beer (they even give you a choice of bringing your own alcohol, since their bar is not stocked with foreign brands or even wine)

Service is a little laid back - but i think thats good, to help you slowly relish the taste of the food and savour the spicyness as well.

Best place to hangout with friends or colleagues.
It's a good place for family visit as well as it contains the greennary part in the hotel premises

Neantha Louiza Vaz
The best place in mysore for coastal food. Fish, prawns, crab, squid, u get every variety of sea food here. The prawn and anjal masala fry are the best. And they also server some authentic mangalorean food, like neer dosa and chicken curry 😊
Bakasuri
Craving for some coastal cuisine in Mysore and my search led me here. Have been here multiple times and tried their crab sukkha. The food is good and a welcome relief for coastal cuisine lovers. They pack food well too for take away.
Akash M
One of the garden restaurant and a private hut type restaurant you can dine in any of the dining area. The garden area usually will be available after 6pm onwards.
The foods are marvelous with their taste and very reasonalbe too.
A good place for a calm dinner. Better watch out for the mosquitoes at nights because we had a problem regarding this one time.
The service 3/5
Food 4/5
ambiance 3.5/5
Price 4/5
Prem Narayan SA

Arun
A super cool and quite place on the outskirts of Mysore... It's on the way to Brindavan Gardens.. Food is tasty, especially the Deep Fried Chicken, Neer Dosa. The waiters are courteous.. A good experience on vacation.. Would visit this place again if I am back in Mysore..
Arya Chakrabarty
We went to Coastal Garden for a colleague's party.

The place has open air sitting options and the food is brilliant, staple options but brilliant, especially considering the prices.

They play music, mostly hindi film songs of yesteryears.

Would recommend the Chicken Ghee Roast, Chilli Chicken and Chicken Tandoori. For the main course, mutton and prawns are a good option. The portions are more than generous for all items.

The best part: they allow you to bring your own alcohol. :-)
