Review Fresh Catch Seafood Restaurant - Mysuru (Mysore)

ANAND U.P.
We ordered Emperor Shaoor. They were perfectly cooked fish. Well balanced tasting dish. We loved loke both the Green and Red Masala Fish; However, we loved the Green more than the Red one. It was uniquely tasting. I sprinkled a bit of salt to this dish as I preferred it individually. We were told that the bones will be less. But 4 pieces were very boney and less meat. The bones were big and tiny too. 🐠 Mango Fish Curry was exceptionally tasting 👌🏻 Winner Dish at Seafood Restaurant. 🥇👏🏻 Fish Biryani was bland to the core even after asking for extra Masala. We had to literally ask for Sherwa for some extra Masala spice to the plain Biryani 👎🏻 Mango Lassi was good 😊 Complimentary Salad was sweet and yum 🥗 The Strawberry Welcome Drink was yum 😋 and craving for more as it was a miser sized shot glass. Rude Waiter 👎🏻 Don’t know his name but he was oversized and wearing spectacles 🤓 He even refused to repeat the order even after asking him to 😼 Regular water was not poured until for over half hour; even after ask it for 3 times. Sweet Cashier was courteous in helping us with the Menu 👍🏻 Comfortable seating with appropriate table height. The side partition was done to the perfect height to give us some privacy 👍🏻

Service is excellent. Wonderful dining. Parota is excellent. It is authentic Kerala parota. My advice is. You can eat other things also like chicken, here. I considered this place to be expensive because, fish is expensive and saved this place for special occasions.. but you don't have to, it's got budget friendly options too. I totally loved this place. yes! the fish isn't extraordinary and it's subject to availability. You can order a pitcher of your choice of juice to share with friends. So much to say about this place it's best you give it a try. The atmosphere smells like fish until you start eating fish and become part of the ecosystem 🤪🤭 but really it's not bad. I didn't like the crab soup though I could have skipped that.

Good place for seafood lovers. Reasonable prices and good portion size. They give you a drink and salad on the house. We tried prawn tawa fry and Anjal rava fry for starters. And prawn mango curry with coin parottas and neer dosa for mains. Except for neer dosa, we had a great experience .

I had some excellent Appams & Fish Molee. The yellow curry was fragrant & the fish tasted fresh. Service was good. They serve you a complimentary mocktail & side-salad, while you wait for your main course. This restaurant in Gokulam was bustling at lunchtime. If you like seafood i would happily recommend this place to you.

Caution: There are two shops with a single banner, be careful you enter the restaurant and not the fish market (that smells) Overall a good place to have your lunch/dinner, good food, happening area and memories to collect. Ambience was good but they can rework on the space to make it less congested Food was good and influenced heavily with Mangalore and Kerala. Was welcomed with a sweet and chilled strawberry juice and cool cucumber salad. You have a plethora of options to choose from but my choice would be to go Thai Chicken and fish kabab( Basa fish) as starters, ghee rice and their signature mango fish curry, if you are okay with some heavy masala then go for Malabar chicken biryani. Staff were courteous and professional, they were smiling and converse well in English Parking is bit difficult as you have to take an open slot at the adjacent road. If the hotel management can look into this, would be a great help ( either have a valet or dedicated parking space) this is not a challenge as we went there on weekend and still were able to get a slot.

Great culinary experience. The fish was very fresh and all the different preparations were delicious. The bathroom was clean and it’s a very suitable place for families. Great service by the staff.

As I have been a regular customer for Fresh Catch.Really unsatisfied today for paying Rs.430 for just six pieces of medium size prawns.Waste of money for the given quantity.

The fish was not fresh but the fish gravy was acceptable . I liked this item when I ordered last lime so I repeated the order by expecting that same quality. But this time its poor.

Though I have my in-laws place in Mysore not many restaurants I have tried in this beautiful city. We happened to try this place because we love seafood 🦞. The food is delicious 😋 and there are plenty to choose. The menu is well thought of. Seafood thali is worth the try. Anjal & Pomfret tava fry are must try. Finally glad to have such a place in Namma beautiful Mysore😊

For 240 rupees I ordered mangalore fish curry see how much quantity sent it. Worst quantity I had ever received. Really disappointed with the food
Best seafood in Mysore. Very good ambience for friends and family. Fish mango curry was exceptional. The prawns and fish were really tasty and fresh. Keep up the good work.

Awesome food each and every bite I felt as if I was in Mangalore. Mangalorean gonna love the food here or else every time I come to Mysore I would miss Mangalorean seafood here after thats not gonna happen 😍.

The food is great... the service is good... the timing of the food reaching your table... absolutely wierd. The dishes come as they please and accompanied bread or condiments come at their own time.
The food tho... spot on

Food - 5. Value for money - 5. Managers communication and hospitality - 0. We had Chicken Stew, Mango Chicken Curry with Appam and Porotta and it was great, no complaints. Although the manager was such a buzzkill. We asked him for a good recommendation and he wouldnt tell. It was a simple question which could have been answered straight away, without him asking us a million questions about our taste and preference. On telling him we are open to literally any taste and flavour, he kept asking us what kind of spice level/price range we are looking for. I sensed a lot of arrogant vibes from this conversation and it was definitely a poor way to answer a simple question. Hate to say this, but he sounded like a total idiot. Oh, and also there were few dead flies on the table facing the windows, which were cleared after 5 minutes of asking and we had to ask thrice for it to be removed. That being said, the food was absolutely amazing. Shame about the other nuisance.
Would have been an easy 5/5 if not for the shenanigans.

Best seafood restaurant in mysore. Mango fish curry and appam was best combo. Thali was worth. Ambience was good
Friendly staffs
Fish kabab is also a must try dish
Beautiful ambience, amazing seafood.

We took a seafood platter which served 5 people stomach full.

And amazing aapam, neer dosa with Mangalore fish masala.

Ambiance is cool!!!
Service is good!!
Chicken and fish thali are reasonable and taste is good!! Fish thali is of Kerala style and taste is excellent!!!can visit with friends and family

One of the bestest restaurant for seafood lovers.
My personal favorite is 'fish kabab' and 'prawn biryani' 😍
Not a big fan of fish curries though! Starters are just 'WOW' !
Mysore has now got a restaurant with a large spread of seafood. Go here with a large appetite. The fish fingers and appam are beautifully done. The fish pulimunchi also was mouth watering. The food is good, but the service is not upto the mark. Service is slow, and have no idea of when starters and main course should be served. You might get the starter after main course! Pricing is slightly on the higher side, but is justified by the food quality.
Sriraksha Nayak
Ambience -4
Food -4
Service -4
Fishes served here were really fresh and tasty.
We tried angel fish fry which was the best ,
Mackerel mangalorean fish curry , boiled rice and neer dosa which was a good combination and butter garlic prawns which tasted different from usual ones and carb soups which has crab pieces init which was good. Little costly compared to other restaurants in Mysore but worth a try.

This place is a good place. The food is excellent. The good thing is that they let you select the fish before they fry and give it to you. My favorite though has to be fish mango curry. It has a good balance of both little spicy and soury good taste of the mango. I gave it a 4star because of the price and the portion they serve. Taste and all is excellent trust me. Hope I edit this to 5stars ahead. Let us see!

You should have rejected my order when I asked you to not use coconut oil in the fish curry. Why to send me something that wasn't in the way I wanted to be?
IKrishni
Great location and nice restaurant cum shop for the world of fishes. You'll find all kinds of fishes in the shop. The restaurant serves delicious food. Whatever we've tried, it's good. Fish thaali is personal fav with some soup and starters.
Nithya M
Food is very good here, I tried fish biriyani, jus that the masala was less with the fish in the biriyani and no salt ! Otherwise taste wise it’s very Gud ! Worth a try !
Sreejit Datta
This place actually serves fresh seafood, true to its name. Having said that, they'd do better to bring more variety in their menu, especially in the main course section. Service and seating are definitely among the best in town. Three cheers!
Devendra Kandula
For food preparation they have taken more time and biryani not that worthy. Taste was good but cost is high. They need to improve the better service

One star is for fresh fish and another star is for ambience. However cook needs to be punished for wasting a good red snapper. Just imagine the confusion of cook. He had onion garlic Curry leaves and coconut in masala and half cooked . They really do not know how to cook fish. Hyped star on zomato. Waiters were lifeless and looked like they have not being paid and are forced to work. Don't even know how to serve food without making a mess of it. They need to be trained. Price wise it was not expensive. This restaurant can really be iconic if they change their cook. It felt like a vegetarian was forced to cook fish it was that bad

Ambience- 5/5
Food- 5/5
Staff, Hospitality - 5/5
Experience - 5/5

Went to this place with Family, for Saturday lunch. I must say, it was quite an amazing experience. We were seated and welcomed by the manager, soon as we were seated we were served welcome drinks, which was refreshing and tasted great.

We ordered Russian salad & the seafood platter for starters (see image). The salad was very good, par boiled veggies and mayo dressing with dragon fruit as the side kick, I really liked it because it didn’t have any potatoes, which is quite common in mayo salads. The platter had quite a variety and everything in there was super delicious, it was quite filling too, as everyone were full just finishing the platter. But we the ordered the mains anyway, because we were just getting started.

Plain rice, fish curry tasted awesome, but maybe I spoke too early, because when we tasted the fish biryani no one touched the rice & curry. The fish biryani was simply MARVELOUS! It’s a must try & I have made a mental note of ordering from this place every time I crave having rice.
We tried Blueberry Mojito and green apple Mojito, it was nice & refreshing in this hot summer.

Will definitely visit again and recommend this place to others.

Chicken thali and fish thali is best for lunch. It's Kerala based food taste everyone should try this tawa chicken is spicy and Mexican style so good. They got for curd extra 60 which is not fair. But taste wise so good. Good service. Good environment
Alekhyaprasanna Reddy
The place is small and decent with neat arrangements. We started with fish kebab and tawa fish fry. They were spicy and feast for taste buds. Neer dosa and appam added new flavour to my food. The mango fish curry could have been a little spicy but nevertheless tasted good. We are waiting for our Malabar fish biryani. Hope that doesn’t disappoint!
Shreeya Prakash
A wonderful place to be if you're a fan of sea food. Its hygienic as well. The staff here are very polite and professional. We have had a tummy filling experience here everytime.
You can choose your favorite fish from their stall besides the restaurant. A must visit destination in Mysore and malabar fish biriyani is a delicacy to be tried here.

Guys stick to Food items in menu card or the management will take you for a ride, they price the chef specials very exorbitantly. I was shocked when one veg platter was billed at ₹1200 yes 1,200 for one veg platter
Veg platter is not mentioned in menu.

Simply waste of money.....

We had been this restaurant yesterday greated well ordered appam & crab curry we have totally disappointed of size of crab, it is something like river crab in size, such a small crab of 2 pieces of divided crab no extra legs too.... Charged 340/- plus GST.... Which is too much expensive.... Thought for while v could have gone to fish curry rice for the same .... The waiter acting like d owner of restaurant.....
Rajesh K Shetty Udrimane
Best seafood restaurant I have ever visited... Lovely ambience and well trained staff... We had fish mango curry, nizami biryani, white pomfret and Kerala parota... All the dishes were amazing...
Manasa Krishna
I have been this fresh catch seafood restaurant couple of times and I loved their seafood. This time I ordered malabar fish biriyani through zomato, I was very disappointed. The rice had not absorbed the flavours. It was simply a plain white rice with little gravy. The restaurant should not bias in the quality when ordering online. It affects the impression of the restaurant and customers don't order online nor enter this place.
Sapna(Nandini)
Rated 3 just for the ambiance and the freshness that the restaurant beholds. The newly started thali for Rs.150/- isn't worth I guess. We ordered 1 seafood thali and 1 chicken thali, the fish curry in Sea food thali was way too sour where as the tandoori chicken in chicken thali was undercooked. Since it was a peak lunch hour people were left waiting(had to stand for a good 30 minutes, as there wasn't enough space for seats), after which we got seated but again waited for 20 minutes for our food to be ordered(nobody turned into attend). Service seriously needs to be taken care of. My hunger had gone by the time the said thali arrived..😒 This was not enough, again they made us wait for another 15 minutes for billing process. Wondered how could we spend 2 hours on lunch(just 2 thali, to be precise). Yeah..thanks to such lame delay by the service crew. Anyways, next time, fresh catch seafood restaurant will be our last/least resort for lunch. We had a Patience test done here 🤔🤐

Yesterday I ordered prawn noodles, as it is my hot favourite. I have been observing since the last three orders, the quality of food is badly declining. The noodles was just very dry with the smell of burnt soya sauce, raw cabbage and capsicum with no onions, carrots, onion sprouts. A few rubbery pieces of minute prawns were tossed over. The food was awfully bad, prepared in a jiffy and certainly not of the high standards of the hotel.
If you are a seafood lover, then you would definitely fall in love with this place .Must try Fish Polichattu, Prawns ghee roast, shorty prawns.

Perfect place to dine for Sea Food Lovers. Vegetarians do not have much options here, and might feel little uncomfortable because of smell! If they can solve the issue of smell at their restaurant, then that would be great! Over all, I highly recommend this place, to those, who are fond of Sea food.
Thomas Sebastian
Its was a wonderful experience. The food was exceptional with a great combination of sea food off the menu. Service was great. I enjoyed the meal and would highly recommend dining there.

Nice decent place for seafood lovers... Prawn manchuri was awesome, mango fish curry with neer dosa was great.. Palmfret grill was a flop.. Ambience can be impoved.. Lil expensiv but not too much.. the complimentary pineapple drink and hawaian salad was a surprise.. It was good too
Ananya Samajdar
Great food and polite, attentive service. The appams and Malabar prawns that I had were perfect ! The appams were soft and the Malabar prawns had a beautiful, balanced taste.
I regularly buy their fresh fish too.

Was a chance visit to this place along with family. Who would have thought that we’d have some of the best seafood ever in Mysore. Surprisingly good food and extremely ‭good service. Kudos to their entire team.

One of the best fish biriyani I have ever had. The fish is so fresh and have great texture in biriyani. Ambience is not so great. Good place for sea food lovers.

This is the first time i tried Sea food restaurant in India, and this place didn’t let me down , they have variety of Mangalorean dishes and my favorite is their “ Fish Mango Curry”😋

i give 3/5 for ambience, 5/5 on taste and 5/5 on their service. will visit again on my next visit to India👍

This place is pretty great in terms of service, food quality and quantity and ambiance.

I went there with my friends one afternoon in search for something different. The place was easy to spot and a comfortable aura greeted us when we entered.

The fishes were fresh and the dishes were lip-smacking. The best part was that we got to choose which fish we wanted to have.

We had prawn kababs and two dishes made from a red snapper fish that we selected. One dish was a sort of South Indian Tawa Curry which tingled our taste buds, making us crave for more. The other dish, the best one we had, was the grilled red snapper. The fish was so fresh and so well prepared that it melted in our mouth leaving a tender and buttery aftertaste.

We also tried a South Indian Tawa Chicken curry and a Barbeque Chicken platter. The latter was delicious. So was the Blueberry and Mint Mojitos. The complementary salad went perfectly well with all the dishes.

All in all, this was a new experience. I would recommend this restaurant for all fish lovers.

went here during a weekend trip to mysore .. .the fish biryani was one of the best i have ever had .. highly recommended . rest of the items were good and so were the staff

Fish Catch Special 2½ stars.

The food was delivered after only 25 minutes but unfortunately it was cold. Packaging was the same as a street-food stall, just plastic bags with rubber bands.

The delivery boy didn't have an insulated food box, but only a carrier bag.

The food quantity was good, but the flavour wasn't.

The coconut chutney was dry. The fish gravy had a few pieces of fish and bone in it, but was just a chilli-heavy gravy with no finesse at all. The rice was good, the roti was NOT a roti, the raitha was tasty.

For the price paid it certainly wasn't worth the money. I wouldn't pay half that sum.
I have ordered many times from this resturant. My favourite was nadan chicken curry. Must try resturant in mysore. Bit costly but you can compromise as the food quality is best.
Nagalaxmi Bhat
First time order from this place and tastes nothing like Mangalore or Kerala cusisine. plus they mess up with the order half of my order is not received for which we already paid and when we call the restaurant they are least bothered about it and they told me they are ok if I write a bad review. Complete waste of money and time. Please avoid if u are looking for good food.
Mayank Mantry
The sea food served here are fresh and very well prepared.i tried the prawns ghee roast, neer dosa and prawns biryani.little bit high on the cost.but it is a must try once.

Horrible horrible horrible horrible horrible horrible hospitality. We ordered 5 boiled rice 3fish curry and it took them 1 hour 15minutes to prepare that and gave us 4boiled rice and one white rice. When asked they told that they were out of boiled rice and didn't even bother to inform us instead
of 3fish curry they gave us 2 because they forgot to prepare one more and the price is soooo freaking high 😵😵😵 horrible experience
Outstanding! I live practically next door to Fresh Catch & keep trying new dishes. I recommend the Mangalore Fish Curry, the Prawn Ghee Roast, the fish Biriyani & the Prawn Masala. As I said, outstanding!
Nice food and ambiance. Tasty dishes. Service was good. Authentic dishes are great. Crab ghee roast, mango fish curry at its best. One of the best in Mysore. Quite place and just good.

We, a bunch of friends had gone to Mysore for a trip and were looking for a decent place to eat. We came across this this restaurant after a quick Zomato search and barged in as hungry pigs. They've a fish market attached to the restaurant and you can simply choose the fishes you wanted on your plate right from the market. Food is 'yum' worthy and delectable. The servings are fresh, presentation is impressive and ambience is good. Staff is courteous and prompt. It is a must visit place in Mysore. Definitely recommended.

Sry to say ... worst food i have ever had in a year..... we had ordered boiled rice, prawns fry ,mangloean fish curry and chicken kabab.... none of which met our expectations... the rice was over boiled and the fish curry was not all spicy; no salt indeed....
I WISH THOSE WHO ARE PLANNING TO GO MAKE A SECOND THOUGHT BEFORE GOING.. TQ

good food and good service, one of the best seafood restaurant in mysore. But, they are good at ripping your pockets, they will suggest some costly dishes without informing its price, where you might end up in trouble.

Ambience - 9/10
Taste - 8.5/10
Overall - 7.5/10
Price - kind off expensive for the quantity they provide
Service - 9.5/10
They give you complimentary drink (watermelon juice)
Very rarely can i declare that i have experienced 5* food and service. Few of us were on a trip to Mysore. On our last day there, couple of hours before our train to blore, we decided to catch some lunch. Came by fresh catch on zomato with a decent rating and headed there. The first thing we told the manager was that we are in a hurry - we have exactly one hour from now to board the train. He reassured us that we can order whatever we want and he will have it served in a flash.

The restaurant had very casual seating, the ambiance was good, lots of natural light streamed into the restaurant. They also have a portion of the restaurant called ' the market'. Here you can choose your fish , the marination and style of cooking and have the chef cook it up for you.

We ordered:

> Kane Fry
> Tandoori Chicken
> Squid Ghee Roast
> Crab Masala
> Prawn Sukka
> Seer fish curry
> Rice & appams

Must say, the man was true to his word regarding get us the food quick. Within 10 mins of ordering our first dish arrived - Kane Fry , followed by the Tandoori chicken and the Squid. All of the food tasted really fresh, something i haven't experienced in a long time. Given mysore isn't messed up , bursting metropolitan, i feel the quality of ingredients are much more cleaner / fresher.

All in all the meal was a very memorable one, we managed to catch our trains as well. The service was worth a mention - every one was eager to help and extremely polite.

Definitely recommend this place to the locals or anyone visiting Mysore.

Amazing seafood ,especially mangalorean style dishes ,very courteous people n I would like to come again and again
Being a Malayali My personal favourite is mango fish curry with appam

Family of five tried here for first time. Staff are extremely cordial. To mention Fiayaz, he made really good suggestions and we enjoyed every bit. Will recommend. Hope they remain same.
Everyone I spoke to in Mysore spoke highly of this restaurant, and in spite of my partner not being a Seafood fan- I knew I just had to try the place.

Fresh Catch Seafood is right near all the other cool places in Gokulam. Next door is their store where they sell the fish. So you get to choose your fish- if you want.

The decor and ambiance is elegant and minimalistic. And it was buzzing on a Saturday night.

When the waitress gave us our plates- mine had some dirt on it. So when I asked her to bring me another one- she went to the counter used a tissue cleaned that plate and came back to give it to me. When I created a bit of a fuss- the manager asked her to replace it. But I hope they look into cleanliness for the cutlery a tad bit more!

We were served a small serving of Lime Mint Cooler on the house. Then we were given a small serving of the Chef’s special Hawaiian Salad. I expected more cheese in the salad- but this one consisted more of Pineapples, Cabbage and a Creamy dressing. I must say, it did taste good. So if you’re a salad person- try it.

For starters we ordered a Tawa Fry Fish, Angel. This came in a plate with loads of masala and some basic veggies. I’m a Chennaj girl, this Fish reminded me sooo much of Moonrakers in Mahaballipuram, just better taste and better hygiene.

We decided to go basic and Order their specialities. So for our mains- we ordered, Mango Fish Curry with Appam and Dal Fry with Butter Naan.
Both the Dal Fry and Butter Naan were super buttery. The Mango Fish curry with Appam- where do I start? The Appam reminded me of home. So I know for a fact that they were perfect :))
The Mango Fish curry was made using Raw Mangoes, and oh man! It was finger licking good. Most curries have the smell of the fish in the curry, but not this one. The Mango overtakes the fish and gives you a super fresh taste and small. My bowl of curry had about 4 pieces - which I thought was very well priced at 320/- rupees.

Our entire bill was about 900 rupees all inclusive. And we were extremely satisfied.

starting with ambience - 5 on 5
looks great from outside and seating is very much comfortable.
since its a fish resturant..the smell might entice the fish eaters but on the other hand might spin the vegetarians or non fish eaters..so please be careful whom you take around.
food-
something about the staff first, suggested the right fish and preparation according to our taste ..kudos to them ..that all the more made our experience enjoyable
food i tried-
pink perch - the tawa style and also the deep fried style..both were good..but deep fried slightly more
king tawa fry- nice and spicy
prawns semi curry- the best out of the three..curry had this amazing spicy flavour and the prawns were nicely cooked.
Not , a wide range of cocktails or beverages ..but that somehow is balanced with the amazing food they serve.
over all , nice experience.. Do make it your definite weekend visit.!

When in Mysore, a must visit! This place as suggested by its name served awesome seafood! Honestly, wasn't expecting to find a gem like this on my way to another restaurant! Which I obviously ditched and gave this place a try for which I am thankful. Lip smacking mangalorean fish curry, appams, soft and light parottas was the spread that day. There wasn't anything they could have done better! Amazing ambience combined with a fresh menu @ decent prices, what more to ask? I'm perfectly happy with my food experience here and would love to visit them again!
Keep going team!

To express my views on this restaurant, let me put it in a literary format-
We Came..
We Ordered ( Blindly )...
And we left ( with a full tummy & satisfied minds )

Located in the hip area called 'Gokulam' this eatery is churning out some amazing dishes which are totally one-sided !
We had ordered Appams, Kerala Parathas, Manglorean Fish curry & the Simply AMAZING Prawns Malabari Biryani.

Not just the ambience, the staff to is very sweet & kind to clueless souls like ours ! Our server guided us through the menu like a Connosieur.

Not going to take much time of yours, but LEAVE WHATEVER YOU ARE DOING & VISIT THIS PLACE NOW. You won't be dissapointed ;)

{P.S We even got a chance to select our fish from their next-door fish shop ! Guys, where do you get to do that yaar ? }
Landed up at this place at a friend's suggestion for lunch and boy was I surprised.

The first thing that might catch your attention is the restaurant from the outside. Looks like someone exactly knew how to brand and design this place.

The ambience from the inside is equally inviting and the use of glass walls helps a lot of natural light to light up the place and makes it a great set up for food pictures for you all instsgrammers. Or even just people portraits. Being a photographer myself I can't stop talking about the amount natural light this place has.

So coming down to the food.. I hadn't tasted a sea food experience this better before. Menu very similar to that of a Pulimanchi in Bangalore, but these guys ace with their understanding of taste. BLOWN to be honest.

Mango Fish Curry with Appams are a must try. Meen Polichatu, Crab Soup and Prawn Ghee Roast were all perfect in every aspect.

Probably the only thing this place could try having is a staff that is more knowledgeable of the stuff they have and sell.

To all sea food lovers out there, this place offers an amazing concept of fresh catch salmons, pomprets, prawns and lobsters to choose from, and preparing your selection right then. Serving quintessential sea food, this restaurant is quality and quantity approved. A special mention of the courteous staff. Had a great time!

Since I am a veggie, I didn't like the food much. But the initial complimentary drink they provide, it's really very tasty. I got to drink a soup, it was average. But the service is good.
