Review Tao - Asian Kitchen - Nagpur

We went for dinner, the ambiance was very peaceful, giving a calm vibe. Food was also good, dimsum and Ramen was also very good with good quantity. We really enjoyed dinner there. The staff was very kind and attentive and will definitely win your heart. A must visit place if you want to try something different, also it's a vegetarian restaurant.

A great place to have Asian cuisine, located in the heart of city- civil lines. Loved the ambiance overall and has outside sitting too. Food was good, tho quantity can be improved for the prices. Should also have non veg options for sushi and Asian food. Has parking space. Recommend- tempura sushi, dimsum platter, flat noodles, wantons in garlic sauce.

Luxury restaurant with nice ambience and parking facility. Both indoor and outdoor sitting options. An experience in itself. The food is delectable, the ambience is comfortable and the staff is very polite and helpful. All this sums up to a satisfactory experience of this Tao Asian cuisine. Good to go ✅✅✅

Please try their Melting Chocolate Cake, its truly Melt-in-Mouth experience. Their Lotus stem starter is sweet-spicy-crunchy quite unique. Ambience is like that of a Spa.

Had one the best food experience. It was our first time eating Dimsum and it was a mouthwatering experience. We tried edmame Dimsums and avocado 🥑 sushi 🍣 😋.

You get the whole new level of asian countries' cuisine experience in one place. I tried sushi crispy tempura uramaki and chili seedling dimsum, which was served with wasabi and jasmine tea. The taste and dining experience was amazing , bit expensive as they used all exotic ingredients but a must-have experience!

Reason for 4 star in atmosphere is the outside area they provide for sitting. The outside sitting area is a big step down compared to the ambience and the elegant inside area. The tables and chair feel too cheap for the place and the area lighting is dim. The food was awesome. Honey Chilli lotus stem is a must try.

It was a very good experience. Tasty food+ good service. Recommended for family meals.

Authentic feel, awesome ambience and good service. All this sums up to a satisfactory experience of this Asian cuisine. Would go and try new dishes again. Bit expensive but worth it.

Best place to have Chinese. Loved the concept of Fried Icecream. The dimsum platter, mushroom bao, sushi, glass noodle soup, Thai Curry, Blue Jasmine Rice, Water Chestnut in Hunan Sauce, warm melting chocolate cake tried it all with my family and loved each and every meal. Much recommended!!

A must visit place. Outdoor seating place with bonfire arrangement was great. Really enjoyed the sushi platter and jasmine tea. I would also recommend crispy mushroom and dimsums.
Staff was really courteous. Service was a bit slow and can be improved.

Food - 5/5
Ambience - 4/5
Staff - 3.5/5

This is perhaps one of the best places to have sushi. Sushi's are quite authentic. Seating can be improved though. Staff at times feel too intrusive while asking feedback which is a bit irritating. But overall they are warm.

Things one should definitely try
1. Assorted SUSHI plater
2. Dumplings in chilli oil
3. Pan fried noodles

Sushis taste best with salmon and prawns, but since the place is vegetarian options become limited. I have had Japanese cuisine in other places with non vegetarian stuffing, so kinda find that better. Ambiance is amazing. In Nagpur this is a good place to fine dine. Nice venture.

Place maybe good....I don't know I couldn't go in.....there was a party going on which was nowhere mentioned and they didn't let anyone enter......so yeah that was my experience.....something new something adventurous 👍🧐

Amazing variety of vegetarian food and the great taste. The service was great as well, the staff being polite and helpful. The sushi, dumplings, and soba noodles we had were excellent. If you go there, do try the banana toffee and ice cream!

We were thinking to try some new cuisine and we came across TAO. And I would like to say that it was the best decision to try this.. first thing which I would like to highlight is staff is very courteous. Second thing is that they know everything about their dishes. They will answer to your every question. Next comes food variety, presentation, taste and everything. Just loved it. Mr. Prakash gave us every information on what we were eating. And last is dessert whichb ks also amazing. Overall experience was amazing. I would like to recommend foodies that if you want to try new cuisine do visit this place and you won't regret. Just don't go with expectation that you will get Nagpur saoji style spicy food because the cuisine itself is way too less spicy but taste is heaven.

I just love this place. Super Friendly staff. Asparagus Spicy Sushi was amazing. Jasmine tea goes perfectly with all the dishes I tried. Thanks for the complimentary Jasmine tea. Surprised that I enjoyed pure vegetarian menu so much. Hope to come back again. Must definitely come to try out this place. Music was soothing to the soul.

Tao is one of the better fine-dine restaurants in Nagpur. Being a vegetarian restaurant one would think it’s limited in its options and tastes, but surprisingly it’s not. It has a lot to offer and to suit your palate especially when you have a hankering for Oriental Cuisine.

Coming to the food, it seemed wise to go for the Chef Tasting Menu called Tao Omakase, primarily because we could repeat any of the orders as much as we wanted. It started with some Jasmine tea which acted as a palate cleanser. But it was so good that I kept ordering it throughout the course. Then came the edamame seeds which went well with soy sauce. Then there was a paneer item which was there and there abouts. The spring rolls were simply delectable and so was the lotus stem dish and predictably both were ordered again.

Then came the dimsums which were piping hot and well presented but this is probably the only dish where you’d rather have the non-veg alternative. The sushi arrived thereafter. There were two kinds and both were scrumptious. Added with the wasabi flavour, the sushi’s really made the day.

In the main course, there was Hakka noodles and a special kind of burnt rice which tasted quite good. Here again, the vegetarian stir fry item could’ve been replaced by maybe a grilled fish or something, if the option was there.

In the deserts, they provide chocolate brownie with ice cream. This rounds up one of the most amazing treats in all. Again, they don’t have liquors served yet. Some wine would go really well with the food.

I would definitely recommend this place and would also suggest to the management to make the changes as mentioned above. Cheers.

Had an amazing experience at Tao ,Civil Lines , Nagpur.
The restaurant has an amazing Ambiance, not too fancy, simple which just perfectly with the cuisine they offer.

We ordered Water Chestnut and Tofu Bao, Dragon Roll Sushi, Warm Melting Chocolate Cake and Honey Tossed Noodles.
The bao was perfectly round, smooth and soft and was served in bamboo basket. The filling was supposed to be a mix of water chestnut and tofu but it tasted as if negligible or no tofu was used.

The server made the sushi ,mixing it with the sauces at the table. The part I liked the best is, he helped us understand the taste of the sauce before it was added to it.The sushi was perfectly crispy and the wasabi perfectly gave the dish that dragonly fire, one thing which I didn't like was , a lot of soy sauce was added by the server which kind of overpowered other ingredients.

Honey Tossed Noodles tasted a perfect combination of hot and cold. Hot caramelized sugar coated crunchy noodle with honey and the cold vanilla ice cream made this delicious dessert probably a little too sweet than required

Food Taste and Quality Rating : 4.75/5
Staff and Service Rating : 4.75/5
Economic / Value for Money : 4/5
Ambiance and Seating Arrangement : 4.9/5

Overall Rating : 4.75/5

The Food here is best in entire Nagpur, those who understand the importance of a well balanced cuisine will definitely love it ... its 10 times better than any 3 star hotel in nagpur , those who love chinese and sushi will love this place.. excellent service .. excellent dessert..worth spending a few more hundred bucks for the experience..

Food-4/5
Ambience-4.5/5
Staff-4.5/5
A good place to have pan asian food in nagpur, i really loved the food here. Its a good place to hang out with a bunch of ur Friends or to go on a date. Overall a must visit place.

Highly recommended this place. The primary reason that I went here was the ramen soup and it didn't disappoint.

I got paneer w chinese veggies in fierry pepper sauce and pad thai noodles for the main course. Both were good especially the 'Pad Thai Noodles'. They also serve you complimentary jasmine tea.

The ambiance is great with indoor and outdoor seating.

Note to management - Pls cover the noodles with a lid to keep them hot.
Jessica N
Fancy little place. Dimly lit. Only vegetarian food!

Ordered a
Phad Thai noodles - average. Weirdly spicy n saucy. Not what a good phad Thai should taste like.

Water chestnut spinach dumplings - average again. Too thick a coating for the price we are paying. 499 for 6 pieces.

Assorted vegs in coriander sauce - average. Almost like a bland soup.

Only good thing - they serve jasmine tea complimentary.
Tao is the best place for a family lunch or dinner in Nagpur . I have become a fan of its cuisine and would rate all the dishes in the highest possible standard. I will keep coming here consistently as with being excellent on the taste it is also light on the stomach!

Tao - Asian Kitchen
Feel those vibes.
Civil Lines, Nagpur

On a rare rainy afternoon as I sat on the patio and gazed at the lush green lawn, I spotted the beautiful Buddha statue, I just knew I am in here for one peaceful and amazing lunch. It just felt right.

No alcohol and no meat. Perhaps the reason why I don’t hear much about it from my friends. Tao-Asian Kitchen proudly serve PanAsian cuisine and brings an amazingly cured vegetarian gourmet meal to the Nagpur Dining table.

It is expensive and it is fine dining, well at Nagpur I think it qualifies. The place is stunning and once I sat at the patio, I did not want to go inside for the air -condition. Good choice for sure , as patio was completely empty. All ours. Peace - feel those vibes.

The Bao
Last time I had some good Bao was at Hongkong and I am pleasantly surprised to get the quality and perfection right here at Nagpur. The chef here has excelled the art of these steamed delicacies. You have choices - mushrooms or chestnuts. Both are equally amazing and seasoned perfectly. Soft spongy white steamed buns filled with delicious filling. I would never think vegetarian Bao can be so delicious!

The Pan Fried Noodles
A meal in itself, they make it Cantonese style with that soupy rich gravy made with all those healthy veggies celery, bean sprouts, carrots and onion... They even fried the noodle crispy golden, they know what they are doing.

The Dimsums
Again a variety of options on menu, I opted for celery and water chestnuts. It just sounded right. Dimsums literally translate to ‘ touch the heart’. They are light, healthy and unlike momos not served with sauces or soya and definitely not mayo :)

Menu is extensive and one can explore more in each visit. They have plenty of sushi options but having sushi with no fish makes no sense to me 😛. I skipped.

My only feedback would be - do not allow customers to get car In front of lawn. It is so rude. We don’t want to see the expensive cars Nagpuians have while having food. It kills the vibe. Keep a Buddha statue midway so no one drives right in front of tables.

Service is excellent...they poured us jasmin tea, they cared and they listened. I was happy the place was empty as it was a weekday lunch. The place surely has some good vibes.

Instagram Me👉🏿 Tandoori_delight
❤️Food is an experience. Share it, don’t rate it.❤️

First of all, the ambience is too good.. the place is small but beautiful. The staff there are kind and friendly. The table arrangements and the plates n all are really sweet. The food is greatt.. I for the first time tried SUSHI and it tasted wow.. The HAKKA NOODLES also tasted nice. I would like to visit there again and try many other dishes.. The price is a bit high..but some things are worth the price I guess.👌👌

Saturday - Tried to book a table thru zomato it got declined , called the Tao they said fully reserved but we can walk in and they will try . From the moment we arrived the service was spot on . The food is the best in the city ( have been eating oriental & pan Asian across the globe ) . The staff Amit , the lady server are all great they make you feel welcome and let u enjoy the food . They are knowledgable about the menu and suggest you as well . I had paneer chilly , cheese dumplings & veg sushi ( first time ) all were awesome . The ambience is nice , overall the food is expensive compared to the offerings in the city . But its worth it , good things don’t come cheap . Will be back again for sure. Thanks Tao team .

After weeks of screening through Zomato for amazing dining options, I finalised visiting TAO with my family.
I love Asian food from the core and TAO wonderfully delivers it.
Starting from the ambience, its something new for nagpur. Right from the cultery, the music, the seating arrangement and ofcourse the menu.
The menu is pan Asian with variety of options.
We loved the tomyum, ramen and the dim sums.
Rest like noodles, rice etc... Was similar to other restaurants.
The only criticism I had was it is a vegetarian restaurant.
Overall the experience was fabulous and booking the table is the better option as there was lot of crowd.
This restaurant was in my to go list after seeing the reviews and pics .Finally went there.Pleasant ambience and excellent staff service .Food came on time .Special mention to the cutlery which is different from all other restaurants giving a unique feel to the place .Chopsticks also given .Tea given as complimentary .We tried the dragon roll sushi, assorted dim sum platter ,pad Thai and Hakka noodles ,chilli paneer and spring rolls .The quantity was ok and taste was good .Prices a bit on the higher side .But a must visit for lovers of the pan Asian cuisine for a different dining experience.

The food is exceptional and the service is prompt and personal. An exclusive place for the vegetarians to enjoy Asian food. The seating arrangements became a sore point for us. As the indoor seating is limited, we were given a place in the patio. This arrangement is welcome during the monsoons and the winters. But it was highly uncomfortable considering the hot summers here. Somehow we made ourselves comfortable with the cooler provided. The problem was the vehicles that were allowed to drive right upto the entrance for the patrons to disembark. There was a constant flow of vehicles right next to where we were eating. Felt like we were having street food mixed with all the carbon emissions and pollution. Surely guests can be made to get down at a distance and can walk 15 steps to the entrance. Hope the management considers this while they continue to serve the great spread.

Had an amazing experience at this place. We ordered Red Thai Curry with Blue rice. Yup you read it right. BLUE RICE! They had a mild flavour but the aesthetics were beyond compare.
Great ambiance. Great service. Totally loved it.

Delicacy: While the intricate Dragon Roll (Sushi) is unmissable, the Tao Blue Rice and Jasmine Tea are as nourishing, as they are exquisite.
Service: The manager promptly explained how the glutinous rice was coloured with the aqueous extract of ‘Butterfly/ Blue Pea’ flowers.
Ambiance: The place; with its location, ambiance and graceful service, creates a sanctuary-like place that inspires slow, mindful eating, rising to Tao’s sacred philosophy.
Feedback: The feedback to turn down the music a bit, was incorporated; the next time we were there was quieter. We had also requested the wine glasses used for water be replaced, as they hindered the service and didn’t go with the rest of the cutlery.

Absolutely new experience here. Never thought that there can be a veg Sushi. We had 'Omakase' here. It is complete fate of your meal is in the hands of the chef. And he didn't disappoint. Starters were good. Subtle taste. People looking for punchy & spicy taste won't get that here. Most of the meal is water based, so it's quite light & won't make you feel full quick.
The soup was quite delicious with all the exotic vegetables & nice light taste of burnt garlic. I strongly recommend to eat all the exotic vegetables in the soup as they do have some medicinal values.
Rice wrapped in lotus leaf with spicy vegetables was a perfect main course along with some very nice & light noodles.
Regarding the ambiance, it's is one of the most calming one. Nice calm music playing along while we enjoy the delicious food prepared by chef. Staff is very humble & courteous. They do tell us about the various exotic vegetables if we don't know them. Service was just awesome. They just made the experience wonderful. Always serving with a nice smile on face. Kudos to such brilliant staff.
Highly recommend it, if you want to try something new. Great experience all together!

Had dinner with my family. Menu was perfect. Food was absolutely awesome, from preparation to ambience. Surrounding was pleasing. I especially enjoined the experience of having Japanese food includes dimsums and so on ...I felt its really worthy. Had great experience :)

Loved this restaurant. Ambiance is good.
Nice food is being served by TOA, Specially sushi..
And special thanks to Manager and team for great service.
We let the chef decide our entire menu. That's called Omasake! It was around 1200/- per head. But we got to taste the entire variety of Japanese cuisine. The ambience is so good and the service is also so much nice. They serve you pickle salad, kimchi and jasmine tea at the beginning. We had spring rolls, chilli paneer, two types of sushi, dumplings in the starters. You can repeat anything you want. Then we had soup. Then rice and noodles in main course. And finally dessert. The taste is authentic Japanese. That is it's gonna be very mild for us Indians. Very less spices. But it's worth a try. And for a change you might love it. It is a bit costly but for the cleanliness, service and food.. it did feel worth!
Shreya Mulchandani
Starting from ambience to the staff and the food everything was incredible! Would highly suggest the onkase where they serve a variety of dishes throughout a four course meal (unlimited) along with some jasmine tea 👌🏻👌🏻

🍣ASIAN FOOD ALERT🍣 .
I always have a thing for sushi and authentic pan asia cuisine! TAO is a fine dining Asian kitchen and one of the place serving asian food in Nagpur.
.
Once entering this place, literally it has the typical japanese vibes! The music is apt to create a perfect mood😍 We were served with steaming hot Jasmine tea which literally elevates your mood and makes you feel the asian culture!♥️
.
I opted for the set menu called the OMASAKE where you leave your meal decision solely on the chef. You let them chose your starters, soup, main course and desserts. .
Pretty unique concept and loved it a lot! Each and every item was delicious😍 The edamame were amazing😍
Loved the dragon roll sushi and the creamy sushi! The dumplings, crispy lotus stem, Fried corn cake were so yummy! The soup, noodles, jasmine rice with veggies and black bean sauce was the bomb! And at the end the icecream with hot brownie was the star of the meal♥️ Enjoyed every bit of this meal! Kudos to @taoasian
#HighlyRecommended
.
⚠️ WARNING⚠️ It’s a pure vegetarian eatery(Vegan to be precise)
.
The staff is well trained, courteous and so humble. The chef himself comes to your table and asks about your dining experience! Loved the vibes here.

Was quite surprised to know this is an all veg place. Ambience is lovely. We ordered salted Edmame beans, a Bao which was mind blowing and sushi which totally bowled me over. I have have veg sushis before and was not very fond of them until I tried this one. Food is expensive but it is an experience in itself and good for occasions. Jasmine tea always delights me and the courteous staff helps you with multiple servings of the same.

Finally a place which offers an authentic and genuine variety of Pan Asian cuisine .
The interiors as well as the exteriors of the place are truly calming , thus justifying the concept of TAO .
I went there with my parents who rarely have anything apart from Indian cuisine. Initially, taking them there was a complete risk . But it all went great . Thanks to the amazing and helpful staff who helped us through the menu and with our orders. Coming to the food , it's hands down the best Asian cuisine I had in a while .
The details with which it was prepared and the elegant presentation , all swept us off our feet .
And to mention specifically , the Sushis (Dragon Roll Sushi and Creamy Avocado Sushi) were the best part.
Also we enjoyed the Ramen and assorted Dimsums.
Definitely the restaurant is expensive and therefore meant for the special occasions.❤️

Hands down best Japanese Veg place in Nagpur. The Omakase, which translates to mean 'i leave it to you, Chef' is a proper treat for the taste-buds and gives you a taste of each of their signature dishes on the menu. While it may be expensive, this is an authentic Japanese experience with fresh produce and a super-efficient and friendly staff.

Since I am so fond of pan Asian food , decided to take my family out for a holi dinner here, keeping in mind that it’s a vegetarian restaurant I was highly scared.
As you enter the gates , you are transformed to somewhere else , somewhere so beautiful and so peaceful . The well done gorgeous lawn area , outside sitting place and the indoors , everything is simply perfect ! The tables are filled with colourful cutlery.
The staff is so well trained ,they help you in placing the order. The menu is uncomplicated and to the point .

The food arrives and you get some serious food coma. The sushi platter was just amazing. The Tom yum soup was honestly too too spicy for the taste.
( says a Nagpuri, so yeah it was ) . And to make things better , the restaurant was giving complimentary dimsum basket that day !

The chef himself comes and asks for feedback in the end which I found to be a very nice concept.

Coming to the prices , they are high ! Like really really expensive for a vegetarian restaurant standards but then again it’s fine dining and the food was superb so won’t complain 😊.

Cozy ambience and close sitting, this place offers extensive menu for Asian cusine. Must try mouth watering shushi Platter ( finally a good place for not very costly Shushis) . Blue rice and Thai curry are hit.
They have hired Nihao's chef and he is doing perfect justice to the food. It's pure vegetarian restaurant.
Staff is very friendly and skilled. Pricing are bit high but you will relish every bit of your food (if you have developed taste for asian cusine).

Can go on and on to enjoy Shushi. Will try dumplings next time :)

Very peaceful feel to the place. Menu offers some really different and interesting dishes. But all vegetarian. We ordered the sushi which was really tasty. The wasabi root dip that accompanies it will open all the nerves in your brain! The tofu soup was great too. Enjoyable

Excellent food quality and courteous staff. The ambience is soothing and attention to the flavours in the food is noticeable. Heard about the restaurant from my foodie friends and it became an instant favourite for the whole family. Will go back again. Chef KP and Prashant are awesome, Tanushree and other staff were highly professional.

If you want to have tantalisingly delicious pan asian platter.. than nothing better than tao!
There appear to be 2 distinctive approaches to sushi creation – the no-nonsense one that relies on the freshness and quality of the food to see it through with basic rolls and the inventive, slightly showy artistic approach.I am in love with this place and for the creative approach to crafting sushi!
The Ambience was good and the staff was polite and humble..

My sushi cravings just got a place in Nagpur..thank u tao for the delightful experience..would keep coming back!
Tao, if I’m not wrong, literally translates to ‘the right way’ in English. I’m glad to say that whatever they’re doing, they’re sure doing it in the right way. I’m pretty impressed with my first experience here.
I’m fond of Asian cuisine and have always loved the food from Ni Hao. It’s my favourite place for dimsums. Tao comes up pretty close. The service, the ambience, the jasmine tea, is pretty reminiscent of Ni Hao (minus the non-vegetarian options), but both the places have a personality of their own.
We were quite excited to try the sushi here and we ordered the assorted sushi platter. I loved it. Especially the avocado and cream (?) one. We also liked the dim sum platter very much. For main course we ordered the chef’s recommendation of blue rice and exotic vegetables in chilli sauce. Both the dishes complemented each other very nicely and the vegetables were cooked well. The rice was flavourful.
The service was warm. After we were done with our dinner, the very talented chef (he has experience working at Ni Hao and you can tell so by the impeccable taste of the food served) asked us for feedback and I noticed he was actively going around the restaurant and taking every feedback with a smile. It’s was good to see that.
They have an option on the menu where you’ll get a set course meal all based on the chef’s recommendations. Its priced at approximately 1200 per person. I’m planning to try that the next time I go there.
Also, we were told that they have introduced a new concept of bao which is present solely on their menu. I’m also looking forward to having a bite of that.
All in all, it’s a warm place with a colourful ambience and cheerful staff members. It’s worth a try for all Asian food lovers.
