Review Varhadi Thaat - Nagpur

Mohit Jindal
Awesome authentic Maharshtrian food. Heaven for the Chilli lovers..I generally eat spicy food and I live the food.. Hygiene and presentation was wonderful. I order Dal Tadka and Varhadi Paneer and it was delicious..and at the end, Poranpuri was the icing on the cake...Highly recommended.. Expect some waiti g time during the peak hours and on weekend.

One of the best places to have authentic varhadi food in Nagpur. The quality of ingredients is great, and the food is delicious!

Must try for those who want to try authentic “Varhadi” (Nagpuri) food, Please try - Zunka, Fry bharit, Rassa patodi in subji category. Also in sweets you can try Khava Poli or Puran poli.
Neha Gujar
Highly recommend visiting here, Please try: 1. Kaccha Bharit 2. Gola bhaat 3. Kadi The food is very homely, prepared in less of oil, used fresh vegetables and the atmosphere is also very clean and hygienic

Food is simply awesome. Pure महाराष्ट्रियन cuisine simple n comfort food. Place is small ambience is not so very good. Being an old eatery shop it is in the middle of the busiest market of nagpur. Hence going to tat place is itself a herculean task.

Always crowded. Visit early as later most of dishes are finished. Great vidarbha/ Varhadi/ Maharashtra dishes. Don't forget to take Puran poli or Khawa poli as sweet dish after enjoying spicy delight!!

Excellent Varhadi ( Nagpuri) food. Special recommendations 1) Patodi Rassa 2) Khava Poli 3) Kadhi Being originally from Nagpur, I just loved spicy food. Awesome 👌. Complementary Green Chilli Thecha and Shengdana Chatani adds X factor to food. I will , at least once,l visit this place whenever I visit Nagpur.

One of the best place in Nagpur to have authentic Maharashtrian cuisines, I have been visiting this place since childhood and I love this place though the taste have degraded a bit with time but still it is highly recommended. Masale bhat and kadhi of this place is out of world, must try 🤩

The Real Maharashtrian Flavour of food is Varadi That. Everything is just so good the Daal Bhaji was so good with Patodi Rassa the patodi was good and the spicyness of Rassa is perfect combination. The thecha the chutney gives you the Marathi flavour. The Puran Poli was very tasty with ghee on it. The Place is good for Maharashtrian food lovers and the price of the food is pocket friendly

Nice test. One must try "Khwa polli" and "Golla bhat". I must recommend these two items from the menu
TushhR
The authentic taste of Maharashtra you will get here. I had tried puran poli dish with ghee over it which was so tasty and sweet. Also, the prices of the food are pocket friendly. The ambience here is also ok. And now they accept paytm wallet too.

Patal Bhaji had very poor taste, plus too much sweet added ..... I think some kind of negligence during cooking ..... very disappointed,

Varadi That TASTE - It has original marathi taste. If you want perfect marathi taste then visit this hotel. You wont regret. Every damn item is perfect. You wont find one flaw in it. Pooran poli , bhakar , kadhi , chutneys , jhunka , patiodi , dalkhichdi etc. Food is really tasty. Its a huge 10/10 for this. I loved the food. I am gujrati but i love spicy & marathi food. I visit there often to have tasty , yummy ,delicious, amazing food.

SERVICE - It has downstairs & open terrace facility. In both places service is fast & they serves hot food. Waiters are good in nature , staff is friendly. Its really cheap in price. Visit there once, MUST VISIT PLACE

AMBIENCE - Sometimes ambience doesnt matter if food is awesome. Because tummy gets satisfied with food not with surrounding. It has really decent ambience.

The best place to have authentic Maharashtrian food.
I always order Puran Podi which is very soft and freshly cooked and it has a full layer of ghee which makes it taste amazing
Jhunka Bhakar is also good.
If you want to give your friends a treat this place is amazing as the rates are very cheap and the food is awesome.
Must visit when in Nagpur
Neha Rahate
One of the few places in the city serving typical Maharashtrian food where you can take your NRI friends to get a slice of the local cuisine.
It’s pure vegetarian and serves some really delicious - puran poli , bhindi masala, Daal bhaaji, gola bhaat , kadhi and not to miss the complimentary thecha. These things are must try here.
.
.
Now , don’t except much from the ambiance , it’s very very basic and lacks ventilation , the rooftop dining is made with a jungle theme which somewhat scared me instead of the purpose it should have served, reaching the rooftop is a task in itself since you have to find your way through the maze of that huge building which includes a little horror movie alike lift.
.
.
The dishes are subject to availability and the star ones get over by 10 pm on weekends .
It’s not a fine dinning , so just visit with your gang to enjoy some really oil laden-typical , full of spices and flavours food. the hygiene is a bit of an issue but I never had any gastric problems so no complains .

I being a maharashtrian myself , even when all these dishes are prepared regularly in my house , love this place just because of delicious taste and the feeling that it brings me close to my roots.

Very unhygienic food by Varadi that. Improve your food standards. The food delivered had smell in it. Not at all acceptable. To all users don't order home delivery from varadi that. 0 Rating to this unhygienic restaurant.

Hi. We are extremely disappointed with the unhygenic food delivery. We ordered 2 puran poli and it's so disgusting to find a long dirty hair attached in between both the puran poli. We noticed it outside the packing and so took video while opening the packing. Here after not going to visit or order from VARADI THAT Dhantoli. For proof we hv video and the message that we ordered from VARADI THAT

A very good place for maharashtrian food. Jhunka, patal bhaji, khava poli, kadhi is just awesome.
Have had this experience multiple times now :)
Just that if you ask for less spicy, it’s even better 👍🏻

I had high expectations from this place owing to the recommendations and reviews I had from people on social media. Had ordered rotis, a bhakri, zunka and bharit. The only thing worth eating were the rotis. The bharit though a fried one, wasn't cooked properly or rather fried properly, had a bad stench of bad tomatoes to it. The zunka was under seasoned and was of a very loose consistency. Highly disappointed with the food and would be really reluctant or rather refrain from ordering again.

Disappointed...! Did not attend us or even served water for 30 minutes. We ordered 1/2 Tomato soup and NOT even 100 ml or a small cup of soup was given. Rude waiters talking improperly... I ignored cause it was our Grandmother's Birthday and did not want to spoil others' moods. Our Grandmother had knee pain but they did not turn ON the Lift; they gave excuse saying that "Lift Kharab Hai". Earlier while going up the Lift was OK. Our Grandmother around 80 years old climbed down the stairs with her Painful Knees. Very very bad experience. Do youself a favour and Don't visit this Hotel.

Great taste of authentic Maharashtrian coussine, loved the jhunka, jawaar ki roti and khoa pudi was the best, reminded me of rabdi paratha at parathe wali gali in Delhi 😍
Ritika Shirshuddhe
This is a place with family environment. Food Taste is just okay. They do not serve once their prepared dishes are finished. Masalebhat and vangi bharit was good.
Balkrishna Agarwal
What a place. The food is yummy yummy yummy. The seating and waiting is a little frustrating bit the food is out of the world. Very very easy on pocket. The pooran poli is crazy.

Varahari the milder counterpart of saoji has its own place in Nagpuri heart.

If curious, go to Varahari Thaath - Located next to Yashwant stadium with raw ambience and a rooftop where families hangout ( I recommend rooftop for better experience). The place is purely vegetarian and offers some really spicy local cuisine.

Puran Poli and Khova Poli undoubtedly the best in town - desi desert at its best! Khova poli is a must try. Desert itself is worth a visit!

Kaccha bharit is not fried but baked white eggplant pulp served cold and for me the best dish on menu! Baked Eggplant salad - to describe in fancy words .

Spice it a level up with patodi rassa ( spicy besan curry) and pattad Bhaji ( the vahradi daal palak).

Gola Bhaat or Varhadi Pulav is fresh, crunchy and needs no companion - enjoy it for what it is! Masala Bhaath and kadhi Chawal is equally good.

Jowari roti and chapati loaded with ghee adds to the meal.

Thecha and chutney on table makes you drool for more and does its job :)

Place is cheap and probably one of the very few Maharastrian theme restauraunt in city. Expect what you pay for - it is not at all a fine dining restauraunt.

Ignore the building _ it is a shame to see a property being wasted in prime location - once on rooftop things are clean and hygienic.

Instagram: Tandoori_delight — at Varhadi That Pure Veg. अस्सल मराठी स्वाद ।

Could have been 5 if service was good. But the main thing food was really delicious especially jhunka bhakar. Loved it. Must try once if u r in nagpur

This place is worth try for the people who want to try the classic maharashtrian food... Being a maharashtrian myself i like this place a lot...
My personal fav being the khawa polo, fry bharit and one of the best place to have a tadka dal in town...
There was a time when they served an awesome 'Gola bhat'... But now i dont know what went wrong with the place...
Hemant Sukhadeve
All good .. except puran poli... They should fill more puran...
Terrace restaurant in rainy days is awesome...
Price are really reasonable...
Had heard a LOT of praises for this restaurant. Turned out to be a huge disappointment. We went there on a Sunday afternoon to order a takeaway masale bhaat. What these people gave was nowhere close to masale bhaat at all. It was pav bhaji pulav which was stale. The carrots had shrunk and the peas and beans smelt awful!

However, I will still give this place one more try as I really have heard a lot of good reviews. Hope it's a better experience next time.

Food- All the dishes were awesome... Really tasty food. If one's looking for amazing Maharashtrian food... This is the place....
But...
Service- really slow and poor....
So... If one is free and not really very hungry... Only then I'd suggest this place...

First of all no booking is accepted at this restaurant. Secondly the staff and the higher management are useless fellows I don't know working for what. These people don't entertain your call also once the restaurant is open. Let's jump to the food section now. These guys are bluffing other non Maharashtrians who really don't know the real taste of Vidharbha or Maharashtra. I ordered Dum Aloo in which these guys are using PBM gravy and serving. In masale bhat it's not the authentic bhat( rice) instead of this they serve pulav. These people can't make the authentic bhindi masala and literally the quality of Aloo paratha is pathetic. It's name is not worth the quality the food is served and are truly big BLUFFERS.............,..

One of the best place to have typical maharashtrian food.
Everything is very well prepared n very delicious.

A must visit place for every foodie.

Taste: Maharashtrian reasonable food served here, Bharit, Patodi rassa, jhunka bhakar is a good catch if you want a have a good experience.. it is tasty as long as you stay in Maharashtrian food section, Thecha is tasty..
Service: Takes longer than you expect..
Ambience: Roadside outdoor and indoor sitting, earlier even terrace sitting was available, not sure whether available now..
Value for money: Affordable prices..6/10

Was looking for a different cuisine when someone told me about this restaurant. As I was told, don't judge a book by it's cover, I ignored the look and the ambience if it. The highlight was the food! Ordered "kachha bharit" "patvadi" "bhakri" "gola bhat" (I may have mispelled a few names, apologies) and also "puran poli" as a note on a sweet ending.
The food was delicious and amazing. Loved every dish that we ordered. A little spice on a winter night is all anyone asks for. And the greatest thing? The rate! Pocket friendly and good quantity. Must try!
The best maharashtrian food in town !! Finger licking gooood with great variety ... dum aaloo, zunka , goda bhaat and khawa podi must try at the outlet ... ambience can be better though
Dr. Rosiline James
I would love to come here again!!!!!
This place is too good for maharashtian food!! It has a roof top too. Though the ambience is not not great and a little dull, the food compensates for it. Khawa poli is simply awesome!!!

Varhadi That.. really that on authentic maharashtrian food. They have seating on roof top terrace as well as in the basement in same building. Perfect taste for sumptuous meal, pure veg....an additional feather in the hat for vegetarians.
A must visit place for authentic maharashtrian food lovers and really economical not at all heavy on pocket.
Swapnil Hajare
Place to taste real warhadi food.....they serve food at 2 different places in same building...one is at the basement n other at rooftop....both serve great tasty food...must try khawa poli...n gola bhat..

A very good maharashtrian cuisine restaurant. Reasonably priced delicacies and the roof top experience gel really nicely. The dishes are delicious and the spices hit the taste buds at the right spot. Had the masala baigan and kacha baigan bharta which were absolutely superb :-)
Tajeshwar Singh
Good place to feel how maratha eateries are..... Poli is jaggery roti must have... Bhakri is same as roti in North.... try baigan bhartha
Kartik Somani
It really gives you that "Waradi" (Rural Maharashtrian type) taste. With Saoji and Waradi Thaat in Nagpur... anyone who comes here will experience true Maharashtrian taste...
Must go to its roof... to have dinner...
Its pooran poli ( sweet) and veg kolhapuri (extreme spicy) are truly great.
I think you can try out all the odd names in the Menu which we generally avoid. And its rates are also too very enjoyable😉
The only point of disappointment is its decor and interiors.... Like Chokhardhani (Rajasthani) I suggest such Waradi kind restaurants to give their Interiors Maharashtrian look.
Overall..... you must go here once.
Sonal Mahadule Chauhan
A place for great Maharashtrian food.
But if you want the choice of dishes you have to get there a little early. We often miss out bharta, gola bhat, khava podi, kadhi if we are late. There are all my favorites and must try here. The prices are also very average. No fancy interiors or sitting arrangement but then who care if you are served this awesome food.
Bharathram P.
Var(h)adi That is a simple restaurant that offers a decent variety of Maharashtrian cuisine. Humble interiors, and good food go well with each other here. The service was instantaneous.
We had zunka-bhakar, phodni varan, gola bhat and wrapped it up with khava poli. All very flavourful, none too spicy or oily. I fell in love with their khava poli, which I couldn't eat more of only because I was already too full!
Excellent value for money!

Good food ..
Chan Jevan........................,,,,,,,,,,,,,

best place for authentic maharashtrian food.. bhindi masala here is my fav.. it gives enough quantity for 3 people.. along wid dat we ordered kadhi and gola bhaat.. the kadhi is purely made.. and gola bhaat was something i had tried first time.. it was good too..
the chhapatis r soft something which u dont get at other places..
the service is good..
very pocket friendly place.. good one for all d hostelites..
food here indeed gives u a very homey feeling..

Taste is below average.taste of puran poli is average but I had to ask for ghee.........
Ambience is below average.
Naw fakt varhadi deun thewala pan varhasipanachi feeling kahi yet nahi.ithale waiters suddha marathi bolat nahit...

Wanted to have an authentic Maharashtrian dinner hence a friend took me here. We ordered a variety of things and all of them were really good. Didn't remember the names though yet had a good experience here !

All time favourite for vegetarians. Good for a change, to get rid of paneer n kofta dishes..... Enjoy bhareet, bhakaar, dal-bhaaji, zhunka etc. here and it would remind you of your village side home....
Ashwin Badnore
Good food.enjoy patodi rassa with bhakri.also zunka, poptachya danyachi bhaji worth for anything.end it with khavyachi poli n u will understand meaning of maharashtrian food.
