Quick summary: If you are looking for a clean and authentic, delicious local food you have to visit Anupam! - I visited Anupam while on a day trip to Nainital. I’m from the US and my husband and his family are from the Kumaon region. I found this gem while searching for the best places to eat in the area and so we thought we’d try it out. I was especially looking forward to trying a variety of Kumaoni food and I was so happy with this choice. This restaurant is great! We ordered 2 Kumaoni Thali’s for the 3 of us at first, as our wait staff suggested that 3 might be too much. I really love that he recommended that to us, as food waste is never good. We did however devour both thali’s quickly and ordered the 3rd. They are so good and my husband ate at least a Thali and a half. :) The Kumaoni food served with the thali’s are delicious! Every dish included in the Thali is cooked to perfection and I enjoyed this experience very much! My husband says that the taste is exactly how it should be and my father-in-law also loved the food! I oved the Bal Mithai that came with each thali and found out that a sweet shop (Mamu’s Naini) next door makes these for the restaurant! After eating, we bought 4 boxes of Bal Mithai to enjoy later. Overall, this restaurant has great food, a lovely and clean atmosphere and everyone, from the people at the front, to our servers were friendly! The only thing I didn’t think was as good of an experience was the bathroom, which wasn’t as clean, but fine. Gender-neutral bathroom with urinal and western toilet. I loved that they had a hand washing station outside the bathroom and this area was clean! If we ever come back to Nainital, we will be back!

Tried their Kumaoni Veg Thali with Pahadi Style Mutton Curry. Good taste, great portions, Nd value for money. I personally felt that the flavour could be more robust. May be they have modified the taste from its authentic roots to cater to the country wide customers. Definitely recommend for an one-time try.

As I love kumaoni raita and aalu ke gutke... Once again I tried kumaoni taali, it cost us around 280 which is sufficient for 2 people having average meal size... It tastes authentic and delicious.... Highly recommended.

An amazing restaurant to have a meal. The decor was great and the staff was reallly sweet. They had an elaborated menu and all the things that i ordered were very delicious and the service was great. There were good many fans and the place was nice and cool with low volume music playing that was adding to the mood along with the aesthetic crockery. The rates were also reasonable. It is a really good place to dine with your family friends or even alone.

The food here is too good. The freshness of the food is guaranteed. It has never disappointed us!! The owner as well as the staff is very professional. They are humble and provide service quite efficiently. I've tried Chinese, Indian veg food, pizza, pasta etc. and nothing has disappointed me by far. I will recommend this restaurant to everyone who visits Nainital. The prices are affordable as well.. The quantity of food served is also sufficient. In all, an excellent experience.. Our stomachs are not just filled but a satisfaction is experienced after dining at this place!!!

Awesome, when you ask anyone in Nanital for authentic Kumaoni thali the only name is Anupam. Situated in Bara Bazaar behind Mosque, the place is quaint, was served by Mr. Shyaam and he explained everything about this kumaoni cuisine. It was appetizing for both eyes and stomach. Must visit and definitely can be eaten multiple times. Pro tip - Thali can be enjoyed by two people and do ask for the hemp seed chutney.

A must visit restaurant if you have visited Nainital for trip. Here you can get all local yummy dishes of Nainital. It will be best to get a Kumaani Veg Thali, it includes all the local dishes. The local dishes are Badeel with Bhang ki Chutney, Kumaani Kheera Raita, Pahadi Dal, Madua Roti, Bedu Roti and Dubke Bhaat. The thing which you will like most is Badeel with Bhang ki Chutney, if you came here at time of snacks then you should try this. Dubke Bhaat is little tasteless so may not like this but it is full of nutrients and healthy.

Anupam Restaurant has been our hangout place since we were in school. Back in the day, the restaurant looked quite different from what its appearance today. Nevertheless in all these years, most of the good things have remained the same. The cuisines are new but the taste still takes us back to the good old days. The taste is amazing and everytime someone asks me about a good place to dine in, Anupam is the place that first comes up in my mind.

I along with my two friends dined at this restaurant and was blown away by the quality of the north Indian food. The menu was extensive and offered a great selection of classic dishes. We particularly enjoyed the Kadhai Paneer, which was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The flavors in every dish were bold and well-balanced, and the portion sizes were generous. The service was impeccable, with the staff being attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic north Indian meal in Nainital.
