Review Deja Brew - Navi Mumbai

Yogendra Yogesh
It's small, Only serves beer, Hard liquor is served in the adjacent Punjabi restaurant. The owner is sophisticated-chilled out Punjabi. They've many imported beers. They also serve from the White-owl Brewery (from lower Parel, local brew). Food is tasty. Ambience and music is immersive. Nice place.

Great selection of beers, both craft and draught options. Apart from the regular fare, they have a lot of flavoured offbeat imported beers. Also a quaint cozy place, idea for conversations. The owner is chatty and friendlier. Also has a very good selection of small plates that go perfectly with the beer. Ask the owner for customizations. Board games and a large screen are an added bonus. So if you want a place to chill out and watch a match in relative quietness, this is your place.

It's Quiet and peaceful ... Very light instrumental music. I guess that's the reason why this place is never crowded. If you are looking for a place to party, this is absolutely NO NO. If you just wanna chill with fresh craft beers and spend your time then this is the ideal place.

Awesome service, great place to try some locally brewed beer, good ambience and palatable finger food. The best part is that you can get a sample of the locally brewed beers to taste before you indulge.

Lovely collection of brews & a nice chilled out place to catch up with friends over a brew. Could be your next neighbourhood bar, i.e. if you live in the neighbourhood for them.

Loved this Cozy and Relaxed place!. Great place to catch up with friends and sip on some great Beers. Love the staff interaction, polite and courteous and all with a smile!
It's just one of those places that instantly give you those good feeling vibes. Tried the White Owl Tap Beer here for the first time; loved them.
Didn't get to munch up on much Food, but Chicken Nachos were a good accompaniment to the Beers!
Shall definitely be coming back to this one!

A must go to know, how bad can a brewed beer be. Advisable to only have the regular bottled beers which are available in the market. There beer's on tap are quite bad. Hospitality and service is poor. The only plus point is that it is generally empty on a Saturday or Sunday evening so you are sure to get a place!

Awesome beer options. Very my type. Small place tucked away inside a Punjabi restaurant on link road. Hesitant to enter to say the least, but was a pleasant surprise. Had the cider which was refreshing after a tired day and my friend had the IPA. Snacked on goan sausage chilli fry which was a treat ! Goa brought alive - is the closest comparison!

As the name suggests it has an extensive list of beers .... bottled and on tap ... good menu for the food as well ...the place isn't too crowded and it isn't too loud so you can actually enjoy a conversation with friends .... cheers !!!

The restaurant is so peaceful even on Saturday , they have white owl fresh brewed beer. They even made stuffed mushrooms off menu. Love it. It's not 2k for 2 as Zomato says.

Perfect place for a beer and a book on Sunday evenings. The staff is incredibly kind and accommodating. One of my favorite places in Bandra.

Nice , peaceful & cosy ambience... Quick service... Had variety of craft beers, cheese garlic bread & chicken tikka pizza... Food was good to taste...

A very cool outlet located on the bustling bandra linking road, this place can be called a beer lovers heaven. They have all the varieties ranging from lager to ale to wheat to craft. Though beers are little expensive but if you want an outlet with serene ambience, where u can just sit and relax and enjoy your mug of beer, you should visit this place. There is not much variety in the food menu but is apt to support your munchies with beer. They have an offer on white owl, 2+1 on select days. Menu on zomato is outdated. All in all this brew is a must visit atleast once.
Ratings:
Food:4/5
Service:4/5
Ambience:4/5
Hygiene:4/5
Value for Money:3/5
For more pics and reviews follow on Instagram: foodie_bob
Eating or drinking is not merely a material pleasure. Dining well gives a spectacular joy to life and contributes immensely to goodwill and happy companionship. One such evening we visited Deja Brew to celebrate friendship over a few beers with a few like minded bloggers who are more of a family now. Read about our best picks from the evening

Cream cheese and radish toasts - Crisp bruschetta smothered with a layer of creme cheese topped with thinly sliced radish and dil. It's these beautiful sliced radish which takes this appetizer notches above the rest. Slightly spicy but the creme cheese calms it down a little.

Bacon Wrapped Prawn - For the love of bacon and prawn do a few survive. This was the case for all on the table. Thin strips of bacon wrapped in prawns and fried to perfection. As you bite into this crisp yet juicy appetizer you are in for a definite treat.

Pear walnut and Blue cheese salad -Flavoured with lemon vinaigrette dressing this combination of the sweet pear, along with walnuts and Roquette Leaves was divine. People on our table just couldn't stop cleaning this bowl off . For people who don't experiment with cheese this salad could be a beginners guide.

Peri Peri shrimp- Spicy and fiery shrimps cooked to perfection served along with the tangy mango salsa.

Zucchini capers and feta cheese pizza - people who love thin crust pizzas Deja Brew is the place to be at. Crisp base, tangy sauce and topped with zucchini and capers. The feta helped balance the pizza to a great extent.

Great finger food n great fresh brewing beers.. N with company of some friends it's an awesome place to be. Also it's one place which is kids friendly. The service ambience drinks n food (u can also order food from The Great Punjab next door) is wonderful combination for a fun filled evening with friends.

I must say this is the cheapest place in bbay for craft beers as well as imported beers. If you want to sample an Erdinger or Asahi at any other place you end up paying an arm or a leg, but that's not the case here, plus they have a great selection. The food here is to die for, you can try some of their gourmet, stone fire baked pizzas or indulge in some bangers & mash or the truly heavenly bacon wrapped prawns. This is an intimate space with a chill vibe and friendly, knowledgeable and attentive staff. A welcome break from the all those overcrowded watering holes with limited beer choices and cold staff. Deja Brew has got to be the best bang for your buck in town.

I remember when I first visited a brewery, I thought a hospitality concept couldn’t any better. I mean beer is where the proverbial buck stops when it comes to alcohol, then how a place that makes and serves beer be anything but the best! But the best is the best only till something tops it off and breweries have seemed to have fallen to the same curse off late. Enter the youngest and perhaps the best concept in town – beer gardens!

A haven for beer lovers irrespective of their favourite brew is perhaps the only way to bring together beer aficionados amidst the brewing war of preferences in a world of brand loyalists. And a beer garden is just about that.

So last week on a chance outing to Bandra, I was face to face with yet another entrant into the hottest genre in Mumbai’s hospitality scene – Deja Brew! With all the bells and whistles in place, Deja Brew’s offering includes a great many labels of beer along with fancy food and an ambience that has something in it for just about every occasion. Sounds kind of interesting, doesn’t it?

Here’s a bit of a rundown on my experience at Deja Brew.

The ambience and decor of the place is anything but that of your typical brew pub. It is contemporary and classy, yet comfortable enough for you to unwind and knock a few pints down! Without any visible partitions drawn into the setting, the layout is well arranged to give individual sections some private space. Well at least you don’t have to be party to the next table’s chatter or have them eavesdrop on your conversations.

The place is made even better by the nimble yet un-intrusive service which ensures you are well catered to without a man marker constantly hovering around you.

Well in terms of the brews, Deja Brew manages to bring together quite the assortment of labels. Their craft brews come from The White Owl and Gateway Brewing Company, which are both excellent I tell you. While they stock up almost every commonly found domestic label, the premium international labels include Hoegaarden, Stella, Erdinger, Amigos, Erdinger Dunkel, Shepherd’s Neame (Spitfire and Double Stout). Some pretty decent offerings I’d say!

Although beer is a very personal choice, if my opinion is to be asked I’d gladly recommend the following

HALCYON –White Owl’s classic German Hefeweizen. True to the typical hefe, this is a cloudy amber brew that’s crisp with a citrusy twang. A mildly herby palette and a very mild phenolic after palette, makes this a perfect accompaniment to a vegetarian course or lighter meats.

ACE – White Owl’s take on the French Apple Cider. This has to be the best apple cider you’ll have in Mumbai. Why I like this over other ciders is because it is more robust and fruity as compared to other ciders and most importantly, it is lower on the spritz.

WHITE ZEN – Gateway’s German Hefeweizen. Cloudier and somewhat more robust when compared with the Halcyon, this hefeweizen has a more pronounced citrus note and a stronger phenolic after palette where you can actually make out a hint of clove in the back of your throat.

The food largely stayed on the higher side of decent with a couple of really delicious offerings that have been carefully curated to go along with your brews, though I’d say I wasn’t totally bowled over the food at Deja Brew.
HITS

Bacon Wrapped Prawns – You just cannot miss this on their menu. About as simple as it gets, prawns wrapped in bacon crumbed and fried, that’s it. Perhaps the simplest route to nirvana!

Peri Peri Prawns – The perfect balance between mild and hot flavours, this grilled prawn offering pairs beautifully well with their mango salsa.

Cream Cheese Radish and Dill Toasties - I had no idea how much of a peppery punch a thin slice of radish could add to the already awesome cream cheese and dill combination. But know that I know the answer, I can’t help but recommend this appetiser wholeheartedly. Pairs beautifully with the dunkelweisen!

Turkish Lamb Meatballs – If there was one thing that had a variant in almost every cuisine in the world, it’d have to be meatballs. Just about every culture does them and boy are all of them simply fantastic. Ditto for the Turkish ones at Deja Brew! Just mind the dipping sauce, which isn’t the best thing in the world for sure.

Pear Walnut and Blue Cheese Salad – One of my favourite combinations – the pear, walnut, and cheese trio was such a delight, especially with the apple cider. Is there anything that can get as basic as this yet manage to charm you every time, I hardly think so!

MISSESPizzas – Zucchini Capers and Feta / Salmon Spinach and Egg Pizza - I was a little surprised when they couldn’t get a simple construct with zucchini, capers, and feta right. I mean aren’t capers and feta a match made in heaven anyway.

Also, we have quite a resounding answer as to why you don’t see sunny side up eggs being used in pizzas. They make everything a gooey sticky mess. Not only that, the salmon, spinach, and the egg didn’t really sit well together even in terms of the taste.

I’d avoid either of the pizzas!

Pulled Pork Sliders – It is very rare that someone manages to sully a pulled pork slider but somehow the kitchen at Deja Brew managed to do it. Barbeque sauce has a velvety sweetness to it that coats your palette before the spice hits it, yes! But a sauce with a dessert like sweetness is good for only thing - desecrating the heavenly pulled pork.

Deja Brew is priced fairly well in the sense that you can manage to have a good time here maybe a few times a month. But is it your everyday watering hole, no it isn’t. In fact it isn’t intended to be so, and that’s what makes it such a great place to unwind and knock down a few pints or to have a casual conversation over a pint or two.

Deja Brew as a place has more positives than negatives overall and recommending it to be tried out at least once is only fair to the effort that the team has put into the concept. Plus there’s a lot of beer and some decent grub too, so why not!

There exists a place where beer flows like water and bartenders are more than willing to guide your every alcoholic sip: craft beer bars. But given the fact that most of the bars in this town have solid, if not extensive, tap lists, what even qualifies as a "craft beer bar?" And once you determine what defines a craft beer bar, what are the qualities that make one truly great?

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

The mission at Deja Brew is simple: serve delicious, affordable food that guests will want to return to week after week. The beers will be crafted with unexpected ingredients & paired with some immaculate bites.
The place is very laid back, and the walls are filled with memorabilia and books. Obviously, the two biggest things that make a good craft beer bar are selection and atmosphere. It’s one thing to have a bunch of beer on tap, but you also want the right vibe, you want people having a good time. It needs to be casual and accepting, with a laid-back vibe, because in the end, beer drinking isn’t supposed to be serious -- it’s supposed to be fun. But the bar staff can’t be too laid-back. They need to be attentive, friendly, and, most importantly, clean. One of the things we’re meticulous about is cleaning out the lines every time we change out a keg so people aren’t getting some funky taste when we pour a beer.

Deja brew has figured all of this out, and I had a great first impression.

Hefeweizen
Hefeweizen is a cloudy wheat ale that originated in Germany. The beer is unfiltered and remains cloudy thanks to the suspended yeast. This yeast also contributes the unique banana and clove qualities to the aroma and flavor of hefeweizen. It had a Slightly cloudy golden color with a small white head. Apple juice, yeast, fruity esters and perfume in the aroma. Not a pleasant aroma. The flavor is much better - mild yeast, perfume, some weird fruity esters and mild wheat.

Indian Pale Ale
This one is a clear pale golden with a fluffy white head. Aroma includes tropical fruit, mango, pineapple, a little grass, straw. The Flavor is more tropical fruit, grass, straw, grainy sweetness in the back palate, bready/nutty/grainy finish. A very Light body beer with medium carbonation. Great summer beer, with hints of hop flavor. Not too bad, though the grassy/grainy flavors are a bit overdone for me.

Doppleganger
A very Light brown beer with amber tinge, large head that shrinks fairly rapidly. Aroma is banana, clove, pastry. The taste is caramel, banana and yeast. Luxurious palate much like the hefeweisen, with a similar flavour profile. Very sweet and desserty. I’ll take the hefeweisen over this on most days, but there’s not a lot of distance separating the two.

Cream cheese and radish toasts
This dish puts a broad smile on my face because of its simplicity. A bit of fresh cheese on a piece of crunchy toast, topped with fresh radishes and sprinkled with a healthy dash of freshly ground black pepper… Perfect Start ! Although, this would have gone much better with Quark cheese instead of Cream cheese.
This toast is nice and light for breakfast, snack or lunch. A small recommendation would be to serve it with crushed red pepper.

Pear, walnut and blue cheese salad
The tartness of the pears acted as a perfect counterpoint to the bitterness of the Blue Cheese . The pears also combine with lemon juice give it the perfect pungency. Dressing provides a nice tart flavor. and walnuts add a crisp twist on the consistency.

Peri peri shrimps
Spicy, fiery and lively are just a few words that describe peri peri. Almost every Asian language has a word for the texture and mouthfeel of perfectly cooked shrimp. But no concise English word!
And this dish was an extension of the same. YUM.

I'm talking about the crunchy, firm, crisp texture when you first bite into the shrimp. It's a similar texture as biting into the perfect apple.

Turkish lamb meatballs
These are made with ground or minced meat and flavored with spices and herbs. Their size and shape varied, some are formed into large balls , others are shapped into tiny balls and a few were not circular.

However, simple they were, the dish was extremely tasty. This is one thing which must be made into a staple in India. And served up in eateries ranging from the smallest, most primitive hole in the walls, to the most sophisticated posh establishments of gastronomy throughout our country.

Zucchini, capers and feta cheese pizza
The sauce is thankfully not outlandishly sweet, though it still lacked any kind of freshness. It tasted mostly of dried herbs with a tiny bit of spicy kick. The cheese had decent flavor. Tangy, with a flavor that actually tasted like real mozzarella. The problem here was the baking. It was just too cooked for my liking,
The crust was great. It maintained the slightest amount of doughy chew in its very center. The base was nicely browned and crisp.

All in All, Move over cafe's which sell coffee flavored water, the era of Craft Beers is here !

We were here as part of a bloggers table to try the awesome food and awesomer beer!! Deja Brew is a small cozy cafe style beer place, serving a wide variety of brewed as well bottled beers including gateway and white owl brewed beer! Bandra peeps don't need to travel till lower parel #justsaying...

Bandra has a number of cafes and eateries that one can visit when out and about in that part of the city. Deja Brew is a new entrant in this space. I was invited for a bloggers meet organized here and got to sample the following dishes from their new menu :

FRESH LIME SODA - A simple, no-fuss drink, this is perfect for one to consume before, during, or after the meal.

RADISH AND CREAM CHEESE TOASTIES - With a generous spread of cream cheese over toasted bread and thin slices of pink radish and dill on top of the cheese, this makes for a very interesting dish. One gets a distinct feel of the spice in the radish, that gets mellowed down by the cream cheese. Quite liked this one.

PEAR, BLUE CHEESE AND WALNUT SALAD - I just couldn't stop eating this salad once I got a bite of it. The sweetness of pears, and the citrusy-sour flavour of lemon in the dressing balanced out the bitterness of walnuts and roquette leaves. Blue cheese, which can be overpoweringly pungent, has been creamed into the dressing with lemon vinaigrette, which helps cut through the pungency of the cheese. Loved how the flavours came together while standing out individually as well.

ZUCCHINI AND FETA CHEESE PIZZA - When it comes to pizza, I'd say that it is love like no other. The Zucchini and Feta Cheese pizza at Deja Brew reinforced that feeling. The dough and sauce are prepared in house (and are REALLY good). The thin crust is crisp enough, and the yellow and green zucchini slices, along with the tangy sauce, balance out the salty flavour of the capers and feta cheese.

PANEER SHAHI TOUK - Paneer is marinated in a mixture of chilli and oil, skewered with red and green bell peppers, and grilled to prepare this dish. The chilli is mild and doesn't overcome you with spiciness. Found the paneer to be soft and nicely done. This was a well prepared dish.

PORTOBELLO MUSHROOM SLIDERS - Probably the only dish that I tasted which I didn't quite like. Portobello mushrooms are marinated in Dijon mustard and placed in slider buns with cheese slices and lettuce. Potato wedges, and mustard and tomato ketchup are served as accompaniments. I found the marinated mushrooms a little too pungent for my taste. Wouldn't really recommend this dish.

VEG STIR FRY - Carrots, bell peppers, yellow and green zucchini, and broccoli and thrown together, and cooked in soy sauce which also happened to have a highly pronounced flavour of ginger. The spicy kick provided by ginger is what I liked a lot. This makes for a healthy meal and a flavorful dish.

ICED / COLD COFFEE - Milky, with a bit of chocolate syrup thrown in, this coffee reminded me of the concoction that I prepare sometimes at home, when I'm seeking some quiet comfort. And what can be better than something that one can associate with the better moments in life!

Deja Brew is a place where you can relax with your friends and have a good time. While not particularly unique in any way, the interiors make a good first impression and the light grey furnishings are pleasing to the eyes. The music is peppy and not too hard on the ears - perfect when you want to have a good conversation with friends. The place provides a comfortable space for everyone - whether you drink or not - and that is of essence, because in a party, no one wants to feel left out. They have a good variety of craft beer on offer, and the food menu provides for a good number of options to go with the booze.

Recommend the place if you're looking to unwind with your friends at Bandra.

There are 'N' number of places in the town that serves you chilled crafted beers, what makes this place different?

Deja Brew for me is not only a beer place but a place wher I can come sit, unwind and chill with the people I care the most about.

They serve you Beer, Coffee and have few books for you to read and few paintings exhibited for sale.

Their beers are great yet cheapest of the lot. A craft brew for just Rs.190 and the food here is great as well.

Must haves is Cream Cheese and Dil Toasties, Zucchini, Feta and Capers Pizza and Chilly Cheese Toast.

I am pretty sure I will keep visiting this place for god know how many times.

Prajakta Sohani Komal Salgaonkar we are soon visiting.
Isn’t it a dream to open your own Cozy Beer Café or a Bistro where you have a laid back ambiance, comfortable seating to let the people relax after a busy busy day at work. Good music in the background that wouldn’t intimidate the conversations. And Beers! The lovely craft beers to let you relax and let you simply be ! Well, that’s the exact idea that Sameer had when he came up with an idea of Deja Brew. A Hotel Management Graduate and a Chef himself , Sameer shares this amazing passion for food and Beers! The most important part being price friendly. Those who know me, know how much I love craft beers. We all know craft beers are so expensive! Hence, when a place like Deja Brew offers you the exact same craft beers at a very pocket friendly price , it sure brings a big smile on our faces. We’re so glad Sameer came up with Deja Brew. Coz that was just what we needed.

Deja Brew, a new entrant in the food scene of Bombay is a venture of the next generation of the ever loved The Great Punjab owners. Chic and elegant, this is of those places that become your second home for the ambience, food and the entire concept is lovely and makes you feel at home.

Whilst Deja Brew has a fine collection of brewed and bottled beers along with some scrumptious eats, the cafe is not just about food and beverage but the overall experience with its soft music, board games, playful decor and paintings from local artists that you can actually buy, all whilst sipping your brew, may it be a coffee or beer.

If you are a fan of the diffrent types of beers, you can choose from anything between cider to stout from the White Owl and the Gateway breweries taps at the café. All the bottled versions like Stella Artois and Shepherd Neame are also available at very reasonable prices. Out of the brews that I tried, the Irish red ale and the cider were the best.

The food at Deja Brew is a balanced mix of short eats, pizzas, burgers and some filling snacks which are paired very well with the beers, something that is very often seen with wine but seldom with beer.

On my hosted visit to the cafe, I had cream cheese, radish and dil toasties, peri peri shrimps with mango salsa, salmon, baby spinach and sunny side up pizza, Turkish lamb meatballs, pear, walnut and blue cheese salad, zucchini, capers and feta cheese pizza, barbequed pulled pork sliders and Portobello mushroom sliders.

For me the dish of the day was the cream cheese, radish and dil toasties with the bold flavour of radish married with the delightful subtleness of the cream cheese accentuated by the intense notes of dil. I highly recommend this beauty for vegetarians and non vegetarians for this is one dish that beats the meat!

The peri peri prawns were another favourite with well cooked prawns in a fiery peri peri marinade teamed with a tangy cucumber mango salsa sure to give your taste buds a zing.

The pizzas at Deja Brew are a thin crust style and come from an oven modified to get close to a woodfire one. The eggs benedict inspired pizza with the smoked salmon, spinach and a lovely sunny side up was a pleasure to eat and had all the right flavours of a good benedict. The vegetarian pizza is a scrumptious eat for the green foodies with the mild zucchini, strong capers and the complex salty and mildly sour feta creating a good balance of flavours.

The Turkish meatballs served with a lovely pomegranate and yogurt dip had a fantastic middle eastern flavour from the mild spices used to enhance the innate taste of the meat. These would have been a close second to the toasties had the cooking been perfect and not dried the meat.

The pear, walnut and blue cheese salad was lovely and a perfect eat for a sunny afternoon. For those foodies who are new to the cheese world, this salad is a good way to be introduced to this sharp beauty. If you love blue cheese, make sure to let the server know so that they can add the bold flavour of the cheese without hesitation.

The Portobello sliders which came with a side of potato wedges and a regular English mustard were a good snack with a large mushroom sitting lazily between the bread.

The pulled pork sliders with a slow cooked pork which Deja Brew cooks for four hours is a hearty dish served with the café's in house pounded sharp and grainy mustard to balance the rather sweet pork.

Sameer who is the man behind this lovely place is a trained chef and played a great host to us during the visit. I could see him personally go to the visitors and speak with them which speaks of the passion that is behind Deja Brew.

Price wise the café is very reasonable for the entire experience that you get.

I recommend Deja Brew for a lovely long afternoon or evening with friends.

In awe with the varieties of beer here and their service!

Normally we see hip-hop crowd in a pub around us where we cannot even chit chat with friends or gulp down our drink without loud bass or end up spilling it by colliding with the crowd.

Enough of that! Here is a brewery where you can enjoy quality time with your company and that too within your pocket (Pocket friendly menu).

We had Spark and Irish Red Ale by White Owl & White Zen and doppelganger by Gateway Brewing company. Believe me, never knew the difference before this! I know now ☺

To top the experience, food is just superb . Be it Cream cheese and radish toasts or Pear walnut and Blue cheese salad.
Peri peri shrimp stole my heart and I visiting again just for that. Turkish lamb meatballs, Zucchini capers and feta cheese pizza are good too. Try Salmon baby spinach and egg pizza also.
Portobello mushroom sliders and Bbq pulled pork sliders were also great.

Must visit for people who are beer lovers!

Ambience: 5
Drinks: 4.5
Service: 4.5
Food: 5
FooodGalli Sneha Dalvi - The Talking Bee
Déjà Brew is one of the coolest places on Linking Road, Bandra. It's a cute little place with a nice ambience. I was here recently to try their upcoming menu over a few beers and I can say without a doubt that the dishes which they are about to bring in are phenomenal.

We had the following-

Cream cheese and radish toasts- At first, I was amazed at this combination, cream cheese and radish but this dish was love at first bite. Soft, creamy cheese to open with thin slices of radish on crispy toasts. Amazing

Pear, walnut and blue cheese salad- Salad with beer? Yes, it works. It had a mix of flavors sweet, sour and the crunch of walnuts

Peri peri shrimps- Nicely cooked prawns in peri peri spice. Spicy and good

Turkish lamb meatballs- Round, flavorful meatballs served with amazing pomegranate flavored dip. The meatballs were a bit chewy, else the dish was nice

Zucchini, capers and feta cheese pizza- Too good. A vegetarian's delight.

Salmon, baby spinach and egg pizza- What a dish! Salmon and eggs on pizza. Such an innovative pizza and it was super delicious

Portobello mushroom sliders- Served with potato wedges, I found this one to be okay

Pulled pork sliders- Nice. I liked this one more than the mushroom ones

Déjà Brew is amazing place to chill with friends over a couple of beers and some delicious food. The upcoming menu is great. I recommend this one

When I got a notification that Esmeralda of Soul Temple would be singing here, immediately made plans for that evening.. Called the number listed and spoke to Sameer to check if it was alright to bring a child and he was refreshingly dismissive about why there was any reason not to.. Checking their offers on White Owl brews meant there were multiple good reasons to give the place a try and hence we reserved our table.

The place is located within the same space as Great Punjab and hence one can be assured of great food and quality service. Their selection of beers was mindblowing and the pricing was really decent. We stuck to the Diablo (Irish Red Ale) from White Owl and the Doppelganger (Dunkelweizen) from Gateway's. Can say with conviction that I've found the perfect place to drink the beloved Diablo even without the current buy 2 get 1 offer as the pricing (190 AI) is better than at the original brewery (245 + tax + sc). My buddy was thrilled at the wide selection of imported brews and went with the Shepherd Neame and Erdinger besides a couple of Biras.

Coming to the food, the huge advantage is that they have the kitchen of Great Punjab as a back up. This is reminiscent of Alfredo's being able to serve up kick ass tandoor items from the King's hotel kitchen. As much as the daily specials menu was loaded with options, couldn't resist a portion of those beautiful kebabs with rotis. Irish red ale meets Punjabi tandoori, marriage made in heaven :) Besides this we ordered the Chicken Tikka Pizza with some degree of scepticism expecting a packaged crust. To our surprise it was a freshly prepared thin crust and with a good kick of tikka flavours. Other stuff we ordered included the Chicken Wings, Meatballs and Pepper Chicken. The only suggestion would be to serve up those beautiful wings with a more deserving ranch or creamy dressing instead of the vinaigrette.

The ambience here has tributes to Doolally's with the board games and books on the counters, non-intrusive spacing and very hospitable management and servers. Having live music, that too from someone as talented as Esmeralda, capped off a great evening with friends and this place should be a regular spot on our meeting up trail.

Spotted this place almost by accident. Located in bandra west just next to shoppers stop, it is run by owners of The Great Punjab. Having just opened up and we being the first customers, the staff which also comprised to the owner Sameer were very friendly. Though we started with cappuccinos and pepper chicken ( which was tasty but a little overpriced as per the quantity), the staff introduced us to their concept and the different types of beers they offer. Apple cidar was good, having a sweetish tinge to it. Its a small little place with a very welcoming staff. Would love to come back and try more of the food.
