We been here for lunch. I found the ambience was so spacious with very aesthetic decor , the staffs were good and the food was good too. We have ordered one noodles and one chicken dish .
Everything was good but found a bit expensive
I visited Typhoon Shelter on a Saturday night.
I must say that this place is underrated but the food is extremely top class.
We started with the Sweet Corn Bisque Soup.
We also ordered Jade Chive Sui Mai Dimsum, Crisp Seasonal Vegetables, Tofu Panda & Veg Hakka Noodles.
All the dishes were extremely tasty and well prepared.
We ended our meal with the Coconut Ice Cream which tasted divine.
Special mention to Rohan who greeted us well.
Loved the entire experience.

Typhoon Shelter is situated in the new wing of High Street Phoenix. They serve only Chinese cuisine. Their ambience is far superior to the other Asian restaurants in the same vicinity.
Their menu has limited options, which enhances the importance of each dish. Vegetarian friendly place and the chef was more than accomodating to make our dietary restricted food.
One of the best Asian cuisine places in Mumbai and the best part is having it in a lavish Asian style decor as well.
The food has authentic taste and the portion size is excellent for the price
There are almost equivalent options of veg as well as non veg.
The staff is very courteous and the service is prompt as well.
They have relaunched their menu 'PORT TO PLATE' out if which we had the following :
▪️DRINKS
1) DRUNKEN ROSE : The best cocktail out of all, it is a vodka based cocktail mixed with dried rose and sweet vermouth. 👍🏻
2) SPICE ROUTE : Mix of Bourbon with Sichuan pepper and campari, nice one! 👍🏻
3) BA : A tad bit on the sour side which is a mix of lavender infused vodka, sour apple and grapes. Presented well.
➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖
▪️FOOD
1) JADE CHIVE'S SUI MAI DUMPLING
Mix of garlic chive skin, veggies and topped with pomegranates, very different take on the traditional taste. Loved this one! 👍🏻
2) BROCCOLI & OLIVE PURSE
This is also called as the money purse for the way it is presented. And the stuffing is a creamy paste of both the ingredients.
3) STIR FRIED NOODLES WITH SEAWEED AND KALE
The noodles were flat and cooked well, topped with fried crispy kale leaves and a dash of seaweed.
4) CANTONESE RICE
The best main course dish, the jasmine flavoured fried rice with a mix of edamame, and other veggies. Very flavorful 👍🏻
➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖
▪️DESSERT
1) ZEN
A dessert that stole my heart literally! The best dessert I've had after a long time. This is presented so beautifully that you won't feel like breaking it.
Served as edible pebbles along with other pebbles, identify the dessert and have it!
It is a mix of vanilla and caramel and hazelnut crunch. 👍🏻
2) LEARNING MANDARIN
The symbol of good luck is presented in a chocolate orange ball shape along with Kek Lapis which is a type of marble style spong cake.

Overall, had a wonderful time and would surely be visiting again for trying out other delicious options and for the desserts! 🙂
Looking for an authentic Chinese and oriental experience? You must visit Typhoon Shelter. They have recently launched a new menu that is simply superb.
Here are my favourites- the Asian greens salad- their spin on a lemon corriander with edamame and broccoli.
The Kung Pao tofu- this really packs a punch and is superbly delicious.
The lamb dumplings- juicy balls of minced lamb. Succulent, tasty and bursting with flavours.
Prawn tempura- a classic served hot and crispy
For mains you have to try the burnt garlic sticky rice along with the Asian greens. For Non vegetarians, the prawns gravy is something you shouldn't miss.
The desserts are simply mind blowing. The zen one is practically mousse in the shape of stones. One of the best desserts I have had in all of Mumbai. The others are the Luna which is coconut rice pudding and mango puree in a globe of sugar . The Mandarin is a mouse with ornage served with tiny cakes. The space is authentically decorated and is simply a delightful space to be in.
Want experience the best dishes from typhoon shelter cuisine from hong kong and the most beautiful and delicious desserts in Mumbai then you must visit this place.!
Went to this place for a dinner with team and it was amazing experience. Place has super cool ambience which depicts the shelters in hong kong. There are hut kind of private dinning tables which resembles to asian structures. Overall feel of the place is very positive and delightful.! Their food is so compact yet completely satisfactory and balanced between both veg and non veg dishes. Food menu is really impressive and it is one of those places where I was not confused on what to order because all the options available in menu were famous dishes from the ports of hong kong and I was very happy with the food at this place. Their port to plate concept menu is definitely a must try and it surely will delight you.
Service was flawless and staff at this place was very professional with so good knowledge about all the dishes and drinks.!
Things that we ordered and loved are as below.!
Soups: their special methods and spices used to prepare the soups does make a difference in texture, consistency and taste of soup at this place. Definitely a unique taste and a great quality. We tried sweet corn soup and shanghainese hot and sour soup, both of them were fabulous in taste.
Dimsum - being a dimsum lover, I always look for a place that has some good options for Dimsum and this place is obviously one of them. They have so many varieties under both veg and non-veg Dimsums. All the Dimsum were steamed to perfection with perfect outer coating and delicious stuffing inside. Presentation was so beautiful in all the dimsum. We ordered wild mushroom & edamame dumplings, jade chiv sui mai, broccoli and olive purse and har gau.
To all the dimsum lovers you should bookmark this place.!
Small plates -we tried some of the very famous dishes from the port of hong kong like pepper spiked tofu, lotus root chips, yolands crispy prawns. All the dishes were prepaed with so much perfection. Authentic taste and high quality that's what I would highlight.
Cocktails - I just have one word for cocktails at this place, 'Unique'. We really liked spice route and drunken rose which are recommended by them. Cocktails were definitely very strong and really went down well.!
Mains- we could try some signature dishes like noodles with seaweed and kale, Cantonese fried rice, kung pao prawns and tofu panda. Really loved the rice preparation. Tofu panda a gravy with unique taste was definitely a good choice.
Desserts - believe me or not this place does have the most beautiful looking desserts in Mumbai I have ever seen.! We tried zen, luna and mandarin.! Omg what a satisfactory desserts. This place is definitely in my forevers for desserts.!
Summarizing a dinner experience, this place definitely creates those vibes of a typhoon shelter with its perfect asian interiors and does serve some lip smacking delicacies using a so well crafted food menu. I would definitely like to visit the place again.!
Best meal I've had this year! Really a fabulous meal! Krishan who attended to us was great!
Excellent food.
Amazing service.
Great value.
Absolutely loved everything.
A pleasurable experience.
Favorite dishes - kingfish in Singapore sauce , prawn tempura, minced lamb dim sum , shrimp sweet corn soup , pork belly fried rice and the mandarin orange desert

Typhoon Shelter-
Excellent decor based on Chinese origin. Luxurious furniture and flashy bar counter. Authentic vibes exudes thru whole place.
They have pretty unique dishes made from rare ingredients and of high quality.
Analysis
Wobbly Cheesecake-
Fusion cheesecake served with fresh orange fruit and anglaise creme.
Guava Sorbet-
Unique spicy dessert of guava fused flavours mixed with square pieces of dragon fruit. Look and taste amazing.
Authentic vibes and decor.
A classy restaurant tucked in a corner of Phoenix Mills, once you enter it will give you all the asian vibe you need. the large LED screen with just the hustle bustle of South East Asia just adds to the charm. But apart from that, the place was a little dimly lit even for lunch time. The service was pretty quick which is always a plus.
We started off with a mocktail - called the Lantern, with cape gooseberry shrub, apple and sparkling water - 5/5
We then called for the wild mushroom and edamame dumplings - totally recommend.
Then came the Red Braised Pork Belly spring rolls - the pastry was a little tough for us, didnt have the lightness of a spring roll, but nevertheless had excellent flavour. - 4/5
For the main we ordered the Lost Salmon - Three bean glazed pink salmon, sunflower leaves and cured radish. - 4/5
We are definitely coming back here to try the rest of their super extensive menu!
AMAZING FOOD and Mr. Krishna served us very well and he was super kind and helpful. A MUST VISIT PLACE and GUIDANCE BY KRISHNA. He recommended the best choices from the Menu!
Typhoon shelter very good place to visit..I recently visited good food good ambience...very good service by krishna...very polite
Typhoon Shelter ♥️
A very nice place located in Palladium, Lower Parel. I recently visited this place to try some Desserts and had a really good experience.
We ordered the Wobbly Cheesecake and Guava Sorbet.
The Wobbly Cheesecake was so soft and delicious, that it was melting in my mouth. I being a big fan of cheesecake simple loved this one.
Also the Guava Sorbet was something unique. It has a hint of spice to it but tasted really good with the Dragon fruit.
Hats of to Krishna he gave us an amazing experience and he knew the menu Inside out he recommended good food
The food is unique and one of the best quality food we have ever in Mumbai. We ordered dan dan noodles which was their signature dish. Special thanks to Mr Krishna for his recommendations and made it special. On our request he replaced chicken with prawn for chengdu chicken preparation.
This place is such a treat! The food is unbelievably delicious. Their "zen" is a must-have. Something of an exotic novelty but worth the price (word of caution: you cannot finish that dessert alone). But that's not all, even their noodles are perfectly spiced. Also, if you drink, try out their Chinese Puzzle. It's incredible that they have a lavender flavoured cocktail. You can't visit this place every day of course but if you want to make it special, go here.
Lovely food and lovely service by Krishna..
I was stunned seeing the ambience of the place. Very rarely I have seen such great ambience.
The service of the place was great and the servers fast.
The black rice was just great. It was the first time I was trying out black rice and Typhoon shelter didn't disappoint.
Thank you Typhoon Shelter. Will surely visit again.

The ambience is extremely cosy and relaxing. The waiters are extremely friendly and helpful. The service is prompt. The food is delicious. Value for money I would rate 5/5. The quality of food is very good.
Brilliantly cooked pan Asian food with subtle authentic flavors: polite, helpful, prompt service and the soothing ambience - are some of the reasons this is an oft repeated dining destination for a quiet evening. Good for romantic dates and hangout with buds or family
The food is good but the quantity is very less compared to the prices. Wasn't expecting that. Service is good, ambience is good. Staff is very friendly. Presentation is good
Great place for family and friends. Food is amazing as well. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Ambience : 4/5
Taste: 5/5
Value for money : 3/5
Family:5/5
Best seller: Boa and dim sims
Typhoon Shelter, meticulously and dramatically themed restaurant in the heart of Mumbai is stirring the pot with its menu created by celebrity chef Christian Yang. Typhoon Shelter cuisine is an amalgamation of local cuisines of China that arrived in Hong Kong via the visiting vessels. A perfect spot for an immersive experience of dining in the middle of an approaching typhoon.
Sheng Jian Bao - Shanghainese pan-fried bao, stuffed with cottage cheese.
Crisp seasonal vegetables- Broccoli, Water chestnuts, Baby Corn Toban Chilli Sauce
The Dan Dan noodles- Flat Noodles tossed in Sichuan peanut sauce.
Exceptionally good service, good food and spectacular ambience.
The food gets your taste buds tingling. The cocktails taste better than they look and they look amazing. The service is prompt, attentive, intuitive and warm.
The place is small and cozy. Get a sofa to yourself and you are set for an unforgettable evening.
Been there on a weekday , the ambience is just perfect if you are looking for a dining and wining in an pub/club feel. We had black rice along with four treasure vegetable, black rice was well cooked with the right spices and sauces , perfectly blending with the vegetables. The dessert we ordered was called “Zen” would recommend this hand crafted preparation , it was delectable and equally creative.
My overall experience was great. Must visit once and try out their offerings
Absolutely love this place. Great staff and quality food. Have been here thrice and I’ve never been disappointed. I’ve tried almost 2/3 of the menu and each dish stands on its own. Highly recommended.
Good food but Service is Slow so Order Accordingly Ambience is Also Soothing and Calm .. worth visiting at least once to get a hands on experience
It's a very good place for a family outing
The food is amazing but the portion size is a little unreasonable for the price
Vegetarian Dimsums and chicken is really good and perfectly cooked
The baos are also a good option to try here
The chicken noodles alongwith chicken gravy is a great combination for a main course
The place is beautifully constructed with attractive interior decor
The staff is well trained, cooperative and friendly
The service is a little slow but the food quality and presentation covers for it
Overall it was a great experience
I have been to many places for dine but this is at another level its most soul satisfaying food. To start with broccoli and ruby dumplings mouth watering. The staff is very friendly and courteous especially a guy named Dharmesh. So if u r Chinese food lover it is must visit.
Felt so awesome here with the excellent music, a well themed traditional style, Hong Kong Harbour Chinese food & special service by Krishna. The place has a unique identity with the concept taken from typhoons shelters on boats in HK. A must visit for its uniqueness...
Well... this place has made my boyfriend lick his fingers. Which by the way, is very difficult when is comes to Asian food because he automatically hates everything.
We had the “cha sui boa” which was delicious it was the perfect balance of sweet and spicy if had with the correct proportion of the sauce that they serve.
We then called for a dish called “chengdu chicken” which was spicy but amazing. I also thought the chilies served with the chicken were beans. (Lol, my bad)
For our mains we had a dish called “Dan Dan Noodles” which was basically udon noodles with a peanut sauce with tiny piece of pork (which really enhanced the flavor) which basically blew my boyfriend’s mind. He still craves it. Lol.
For dessert we had the wobbly cheesecake which was good in taste but I think it was a bit dense.
But not a bad experience at all.
The servers We’re really nice they helped us out a lot.
One of my nicest dining experience.
First of all, let’s take a moment to appreciate how beautiful the ambience is. Very private and cosy.
The food did complete justice to the great ambience.
What we had:
Mocktails: The Great Wall: it’s a guava based drink with tomato skin. Loved it.
Lantern: gooseberry based drink with a couple of different spices. One of the best I’ve ever had.
Starters: chengou chicken: my friend ordered and still talks about it everyday
Honey lotus stem: it was very well cooked but was too sweet for my taste. However mixed with all their in house sauces and made it to my taste.
Mushroom and edamame dumpling: absolutely divine. Recommended.
Main course: we were so full by that time but still ordered some stir fried noodles which was really good.
My next visit will be only to eat their most famous dessert Zen.
Food: 5/5
Ambience: 5/5
Service: 4/5
Value for money: 3.5/5
Loved the ambience, took me back to nostalgic Hong Kong days.. excellent food and service.. the turnip cake, the lotus root and above all the the whobbly cheesecake 👌🥂
Very awesome & testy food i ever experienced. Staff is very friendly and suggest as per requirements. I enjoyed ambiance as well as music. Must visit.
The food over here is excellent especially the quality of prawns. It was a pity to see just us in the restaurant. I loved the veggie options as well.
Great food , drinks n service.. decent ambience.
Value for money !!.
Authentic cuisine and staff knows each dish details that's on their menu.. thank you Rohan !

Amazing food. Great service by Krishna who helped us navigate the menu and had the best dessert i have ever had ....ZHEN... bursting if flavours and unreal ... am definitely going bk
Dinner for two, and had a friendly steward Krishna who is knowledgeable and helpful with the menu suggested us starters and main course. It was a perfect meal with authentic taste and so were the mock tails and the dessert Caramelised Banana icecream was on the house, was excellent and superb. Overall, good service and good food and good staff, looking forward for next visit...
Superb food ...... awesome ambience ...... each and every dish we had was one better than the other . Special thanks to the headchef SAHIL PRADHAN for setting such high standards. Will definitely recommend and come over and over again
Had lunch @ Typhoon Shelter wonderful place. The food is great. Had ordered Turnip Cake and Tofu for veg starters which were gr8. For Non veg starters we had called for Craboli, Tsing Tao Scallops and Chengou Chicken. While all the dishes were gr8 the Scallops were to die for... Amazing... for Mains we had Chicken noodles and veg fried rice and four treasure vegetables. The food, ambience, staff all deserve a applause.
A must visit...
Love the amazing pork belly. The prawns here are amazing too. Mr. Rohan our waiter helped us with the menu and also helped us out with a dessert called the Mandarin, really loved that dish too.
Visited this place a couple of time now and its become one of our favourite place. Delicious food but limited options. The cocktails were amazing too (thank you Siddhart :)) Service is excellent!!!
Really enjoyed the food here. Good soups, dimsums, black rice and 5 treasure vegetables. Keep it up. Will return for more. Nice ambience...they need to advertise more....
The place has a very cosy and inviting ambience. The staff polite and courteous. We went there super hungry and ordered pork belly fried rice with a lamb dish. The pork belly fried rice were flavorful...however it could do with a tad bit more meat. The lamb we ordered complimentes the rice very well. The portion size was also good. Will be visiting again for sure!!!
Had gone with my wife last nite for an impromptu dinner. Well this has become my new fav place. There is not much to choose from the menu as it is limited. But trust me whatever you order the food is awesome. The dimsuns the pork bao and the seafood fried rice is simply awesome. Also i must say the service is also great. Will definitely visit the place soon.
The food out there is very good. Wasn't aware of it and I love Asian food. Everything on the menu that we ordered was great. Really liked the peanutty Dan Dan noodles
friendly staff.good ambience.worth a visit.tried the dimsums mushroom claypot and the cantoniese rice the food had nice flavour and over all a pleasant experience
Honestly, I was a tad overwhelmed with just how perfect the food was out here! Delicious dim sums (squid ink & lamb ones) & small plates like the tossed Sichuan chicken were done to perfection. There is no other word to describe it. The Cantonese fried rice with chicken & egg was so good it needed nothing else with it. Their Mala Chicken was a revelation (spicy & yet beautifully balanced flavours). Their cocktails were excellent too. I came here on a first date & let’s just say that my date was pretty impressed with the place & she was satisfied with the meal. A fab experience & one I wouldn’t hesitate to repeat.
Saturday Nights are meant to be tight in terms of table availability, but to our luck, we got one within 50 mins. And well, the wait was worth the while.
Got a fine table at one corner of the restaurant. The ambience is way different from the outside. And by the name be that this restaurant goes by, it's more like a Kings escapade. Fine aesthetics complemented with fine crockery and cutlery made the first impression a great one. We were given 4 menu cards. One for wine and champagne, one for cocktails and hot drinks, another for food, and the final one for desserts. We ordered Spiced Route and Causway for Cocktails.
While Spiced Route was not what I expected, it was more like Oregano, weird enough, it was way too strong on the palette.
The Causway was a downer too, but it was far better than the Spiced Route.
Then went on to order starters, for which our serviceman changed. We were served by a fine gentleman, Rohan. A sweet, young and honest chap who helped us with our orders and guided us to satiate our palette. (We are more into the spicy notes, than anything else)
We then opted for the Chengou Chicken and the Tornado Potatoes.
The Chengou looked killer! The amount of chilies that was all over the plate was overwhelming. We thought we would just die! The thin slices of chicken that was mixed with those chunky chili pieces and spring onions looked more than just appetizing. The first bite made us both go - WOW.
Succulent slices that were oozing with flavor and spice just made our day.
The Tornado Potatoes was a disappointment, like the potato twisters that you get outside, it was oily, but were a good help for the strong alcohol.
We then went on to order the main course, and finally settled at Veg Hakka Noodles (spicy) and another delicious plate of Chengou Chicken. The combination was just brilliant! At this point in time, I was full to the brim, but Rohan did suggest us for dessert, unluckily the Colourcomb wasn't available. Though next time, Colourcomb and Zen is on the list!
All in all, it was a beautiful time. Just that the music was a too loud to hear the other person. Rest, it was a fine time spent here at Typhoon Shelter! Cheers to the good food and the service by Rohan - impeccable!
Typhoon shelter has a really differant vibe and it gives you a feel of asian cuisine.they have a good variety of meat and seafood to offer.great hospitality by the staff SAGAR .
Thanks ones again......
A great fine dining restaurant with authentic Asian food. The ambience was really nice and the decor was super cozy! The staff was helpful and warm.
The food was realllyy delicious- you will not be disappointed.
It's a tad bit expensive but having Zomato gold privileges definitely help.
The place is wonderful. Food menu is well curated and dishes are a delight. Do try the lotus stem dish from starters.
Thanks Rohan for the great service.
Great ambience. They have replicated a Chinese festival ambience. But its not overwhelming and there is high attention to detail. Music is soft and makes for a nice relaxing atmosphere. The booths are amazing.
Very Polite, helpful and friendly service team and management. The food is truly amazing. Pork baos... I'm still orgasming. They were just soo nicely flavoured and every bite felt heavenly. Tornado Potato & Flat rice Noodles with Lamb was very good too.
Overall I enjoyed the experience. Good for a a date :-)
Best Chinese restrictions ever I have been to. The best part of the restaurant is the projected sealing and the food is amazing ... Mr. Dharmesh is an excellent server who explain us the concept of the restaurant and the cuisine. And I love the chicken he suggested the chicken with lots of green and red chillies I forgot the name of the dish but that one is the best . Thanks to typhoon shelter we will be back soon .....
Brilliant ambience, brilliant food. A tad bit expensive but if you want to treat yourself once in a while, is worth the expense. The beef and pork dimsum and main course was fantastic. Do try the Dan Dan noodles for a pleasant surprise.
Great ambience, great food and great music. The only complain is have is the portion size. But otherwise a perfect place for amazing Asian and Chinese food.
Delicious food... I am happy that ma family also loved the place, food and service... kudos to the team. Excellent service by Rohan. Will surely visit again
Food was absolutely delicious. I ordered chicken shaomai and it was really good 👌..staff is also very polite..really enjoyed my time there
“Typhoon shelter” at Lower Parel has the perfect decor. The ambience is impressive and the staff is immensely helpful. We tried the following:
Tempura Prawns: These were the highlight of the meal. The prawns were huge and as crispy as it could get.
Har Gau: The prawn dumplings had a nice thin coating and had some asparagus and bamboo shoot in the filling
Chengou Chicken: The chicken was tender and we enjoyed the Sichuan peppercorn infused sauce.
All in all we had an amazing meal here and would definitely visit is again. Plus this place also offers Zomato Gold privileges making it a plus point!
If you luv Asian... this has to be a must visit restaurant for you...! The interiors are nicely done... the food tastes great...!! Esp the Turnip cake.. the Dimsums... and the four treasure vegetables... although the menu is decent (number of items) somehow we keep ordering the same stuff as its
made that good... the other thing is the Sauces they give are yummy...! Esp if you like the tastes of chilli, garlic etc... very very tasteful..!! Its a hidden gem....!! A must try..!!
Despite being on the pricier side, the food is surprisingly good. The meat is tender and succulent. The rice may look simple but is rich in taste.
The food here is simply amazing. Each dish has a flavour of its own. Recommend the mixed seafood rice. Have been here thrice and will surely visit again.
Nice place good ambiance and service Food recommended was good. The dimsums with pomegranate is excellent. Portions are small. Mocktail with pomegranate was excellent. Stir fried vegetables in small plates is good a must try. Tofu in pepper sauce is must. Tofu is too good .Just melts in your mouth so soft. A must visit to this restaurant Main course was average As we are vegetarian
Entered without much expectation but found food absolutely delicious. It took place in my top most favs restaurants list and a must try when someone visit high Street Phoenix Mall.
Had a good experience . First time here . Dim Sums were good , in the main course clay pot rice was nice , the highlight was the stone dessert something different & just terrific. The highlight was the attention by executive Chef Sahil he made the outing just a outstanding experience. Will definitely come back .
No words to describe this place...superb ambience...great food .. a lot of new dishes other than the regular Chinese u get @ other restaurants....courteous & friendly staff ..& to top it all..zomato too on food...loved it ..sure to schedule another visit with family...
One of the best evenings spent at a #finedine restaurant @typhoonshelterind
Incredible food, incredible people and an increible ambience.
1. #zen - a 'peaceful' dessert of edible #vanilla #caramel and #hazelnut stones #camouflaged with real pebbles. 4/5 (.5 more if the pricetag was a wee-little low.. just saying)
2. #lotusroot #casinochips - fried lotusroots marinated with #smoked #honey (yes!) and #sesame - 4/5
3. #ruby #dumpling - the most #beautiful looking #dumpling i have seen! Made with #beetroot skin. - 4/5 tasted amazing!
Overall this is an amazing place to be! The staff was so helpful in making my #anniversary date truly perfect. I had the whole course preordered over the phone itself and set just how I wanted. That was commendable. 4.5/5 for Typhoon Shelter!
This is a perfect date night place, though part of the adventure lies in finding this little place tucked away in a discreet corner of the Phoenix Mall. So, if you do end up here, no matter what you order, don’t miss ‘The Zen’, the most expensive dessert around, it’s worth every bit of your money spent on it. Also, the interesting plating of it will leave you a little more spellbound. Their seafood rice dish on the contrary seemed a lot more tame in comparison.
And apart from the gastronomical experience, the one area the place could really work on is their seating. The restaurant has tried to max the capacity of the place by putting seats really close to each other, so much so that it compromises on the comfort of the people seated.
The place is a delight for your eyes as well as your tastebuds.. the restaurant offers a variety of asian dishes that are scrumptious...plus the ambience of the place is perfect for a lovely date or celebration...the wait staff is courteous and know the menu well. The place is a must try.
Ambience - 5/5
The decor makes you feel really cozy. They have multiple seating options including tables, booths, and a long and high community table of sorts.
Service - 5/5
Every need was catered to, every question answered, and every demand met. Our server, Rohan, deserves a special mention here. He was extremely sweet and polite without seeming disingenuous. He made some really good recommendations. He's probably one of the best servers in the city.
Food - 4.5/5
Red Braised Pork Belly Spring Rolls - Exquisite! Paired with the sweet one of the 3 dipping sauces present on the table, these crunchy spring rolls will leave you craving for seconds.
Succulent Lamb Crystal Ball - These little dumplings with their see-through shell were so tempting to look at. And they totally delivered on flavour.
Numb Numb Chicken - This dish is served as a slider using bo lo bao (a sweet bread) for the buns. This was my favourite dish of the night. It was sweet and a bit sour but in such a unique way.
Chengou Chicken - Simple, spicy wok tossed chicken. This was really yummy. The only reason I wouldn't recommend it is its flavour profile was quite similar to many wok tossed chicken dishes across Mumbai's Chinese restaurants.
Fun Fun 'Ho Fun' - Flat noodles. Compared to the flavour explosion I experienced with the appetisers, this dish felt a bit flat. That's not to say it was bad. The appetisers just raised the bar too high.
Colourcomb - Not a fan of this dessert. I did like some elements on it like the yoghurt sponge. I didn't like the cucumber granita or the very sticky praline. And while I could see why some people would like it, this one just wasn't for me.
Value for money - 4.5/5
While some of the dishes on the menu may seem unreasonably high, there are plenty of less expensive options that don't compromise on taste or quality. With zomato gold, you can definitely expect to have an amazing meal for a good price.
Score - 4.7/5
Typhoon Shelter has a really different vibe and it gives you a feel of the meteorological condition mentioned in its name cause the food will blow you away! Innovative Cantonese food. They have a great variety of meat and seafood to offer.
On my visit I tried the Tenderloin Springrolls, Spicy Chicken Balls, Spicy Tofu, Pomegranate Asparagus Dimsums & for dessert we had the Typhoon Shelter Special calked “Zen”! Omg it’s SO good! I don’t want to spoil the surprise for you so I won’t mention what they do but make sure you order it when you go there and trust me it’s worth they money! Ordered it twice 😍
Make a booking if going on a weekend. I had to wait 45 mins to get a table but it was worth the wait. The new year soup with crab and asparagus was really good. What I really liked were the seafood rice and the Kung pao prawns when very well with each other. The chicken lama was nice but the Kung pao out did it. I feel this is more of a drinking place and found the music a bit too loud. But nice interiors. Will come back again.
Great place for authentic Asian food.
The ambience is cozy and it has twin seating options - Chinese still booth / high seating.
The food is good. Great place to go if you want Oriental food in lower parel area.
It had a great vibe and the ambience was pretty striking. Rohan was always at our service and he made sure we were being attended very well.
