Food that is Aestheic and equally Tastefull... Amazing is the word. Friendly and helpfull staff . Perfect portion sizes but one needs to really fast before having a meal here. The presentation is immaculate and the food tastes as good as it looks .

Dining here is not just about the food but it's a panoramic experience . Each table has a private server who would make sure you have a pleasant meal. I had the 19 course set meal. I would surely recommend a first time visitor to try it. The 19 course will introduce you to vast cuisines available in the country. The flavors are authentic and do justice to each region they come from, while the presentation is modern. One dish that stood out for me was the lobster in coconut sauce which was part of the main course. They have limited seating, so they ensure that each customer gets the perfect treatment.

A very classy nice restaurant. A warm welcoming, follow by an excellent service, a lot of attention to detail on order to please you. I took at first a tartare, the lunch was excellent. With that I took a glass of the local red wine.

From the view of entrance till the end feels like a cinematic view. Perfect architecture with a pleasant welcome at the dining. Every dish has the authentic taste from the expert chefs who also provide customized flavour with a traditional touch and need of every kind of visitor. My special day was a dreamy experience which was perfectly organised. Must try dishes curry leaf prawn & pakodi dal

We had the 19 course chef's tasting menu. All the food is amazingly tasteful and super refined. Only issue was that my entire family got serious gas! Which makes me think... top chefs and restraunts have a very West inspired myopic view of what good food is supposed to be. They focus so much on making it refined to our 5 senses but ignore the ancient Indian knowledge of ingredient combinations and their interactions. There are spices that are not supposed to go with others because they will react and act as negatives / poisons on our bodies. All ingredients have a certain effect on our body's ayurvedic constitution and the right combination is essential for not only taste but also wellbeing. Remember how our elders said that one should never have lemon juice after a meal? Because the lemon will neutralise the acid in the stomach and cause indigestion. Or how we should not combine tomatoes and milk? If a chef / restraunt is able to focus on wellbeing (not health) plus taste and market it effectively it will gain a certain position in the market that will be intractable. Masala library being an exploration and journey of Indian culinary experiences can and should certainly include our age old Indian knowledge of food science into their innovations and dishes.

For this extremely high price point , we expected a sofisticated decor. It was nothing more than a large room ( cannot call it a hall) with tables huddled close to one another. First let down. We opted for the chef's testing menu, for which the place is famous. They have two slots, 7 and 10 pm. We had booked for 10 pm as we had to go all the way to janpath from Gurgaon after a work day. So we were really hungry. Now they start with an egg shaped shot with coconut water and mango in it and we see- an EYELASH, floating on the coconut water. When we draw the waiter's attention to this, he almost shoves past to see and wrenches away the tray. When he comes back, he feels no need to even apologize! Now the starters come, with long wait times in between. The waiters seem to rush through the routine task of explaining the dish in a practised recital, as if bored and in a hurry to get through it. If you ask a question, you turn around and see they have rushed off already. Care and hospitality are things they would never have heard about. Coming to portion size, they were extremely small and the wait time between starters were long. We were so hungry, we asked for a second helping of a few starters we liked, but they would say always, guests would not be able to have all dishes till the end if they repeat, in an authoritative tone and an air of irritation , as if to say, we know best how much you should eat and when, to just sit and comply! In fact for one onion paratha, when I asked for a little more, a lady waiter said 'sure' and then she never showed up :D The main courses were good, few starters were also good. But the service was appalling. They all seemed to be in a hurry to get over with this and just vanished after serving and mechanically talking about the one practised passage about the dish. Now at the end, this guy had just given me the bill and he could see I had just taken out the card but was still looking at the bill. He snatched the card from my hand and thrust the card machine in front of me to punch in the pin. There was a feedback form with the bill but no pen also, so it was very evident they did not care about getting any feedback. I would highly recommend to everyone,DO NOT go to this place. They don't understand the first syllable of service. Very pricy, you do not get to understand properly about the uniqueness of the dishes that is supposed to be the USP of the place and the service is worse than a railway station canteen.

It was a unique dining experience. Enjoyed most of the 19 items served tastefully. Though snacks n starters were better than the maincourse! Ambience was just ok..honestly..the place seemed a bit smaller than expected! Service was pretty good. Staff responded efficiently! To sum up I would recommend my friends to visit this place atleast once and enjoy the detailing of an exotic menu! My personal favourite was Ram Laddoo and Mushroom Chai :)

been to masala library yesterday and took the chef tasting menu i must say they should improve their menu in the name of main course they are serving dhokla and papad ki sabji their is pre starters post diner side which is very average food taste also is very average not at all worth it indian accent is much much much better then this.
Sneha Saraf Mittal
The wow factor that the restaurant exhibits from the outer is missing quite much inside.. The ambience is below average when to weigh it against how much you r spending.. The food is just so-so.. And they r so perfect with the minutest details of aesthetically making the food appealing that the food ultimately is cold wen u r served... Wht I can vouch for is the little surprises they

Amazing and totally beyond my expectation. The ambience, service, quality and the unique way the indian items were prepared gave it a perfect touch. We all just loved everything the place offered. Kudos to the concept!!!

We had all 19 course meal and all of them are competing each other in terms of appearance, taste etc, Though we were given options of repeating 2 out 19 course but it was very difficult to choose. Mushroom Chai was very special so other menu. All the staff too courteous & explained briefly each menu.

One of the finest ambience i have experienced. Yummy 19 course meal. I must say the chef has actually put her entire strength in crafting such lavish dishes served in fancy platters. Full toosh masala munch !!!

Masala library without any masala ...very regular Indian food ...nothing great ...the dishes r just described as something different nd divine but wen its served it's nothing different than any Indian food served anywhere ...only thing good is the staff ..thy r very welcoming nd warm but even that alone can't make the experience great ...there r better restaurants by Jiggs Kalra nd zorawar kalra

Modern, innovative cuisine at its best. Good food, good pairing with wines and excellent, attentive service. All the hallmarks of a great F&B place
Vedika Chadha
Great but their chef tasting menu did get a bit too much for me after a point. Maybe as a medium eater I felt full too fast but my husband felt the same.

Great place , great food , good people , twist is the surprise they bring at last , must visit place

It's a "foodie" experience. Minimalist decor so the focus is entirely on the food. The staff is wonderful and extremely knowledgeable about each food item. Presentation was lovely. Now for the food.... each item explores different flavors. Experiments with taste and aromas. It's a meal you take your time to eat and explore. The "chocolate" dessert at the end is simply divine. Not to be missed dining experience.

Went on weekend, the decor was nice. Picked chef tasting menu. Food presentation is really good, but having said that the item in main courses were just below average. They are serving Dhokla and some sort of papad n all. Just had a bite and left. For the price point that have been kept, they should serve something better in main course dishes. Starters and deserts were nice. It falls little bit on expectations in terms of main course variety. Felt good about the designer birthday cage they prepared on occasion of bday.

The best restaurant to have a degustation lunch or dinner. Good to see master chef style preparations... Must go for all food lovers... You will first eat from EYES, than Nose and in last you will taste from mouth. Highly recommended.

This place is a must visit!! Went there for my wedding annivesary and had a great experience! Food was brilliant and the staff were very courteous! Presentation is simply awesome !! Dont miss it

Brilliant place to go with family and friends. Few dishes you should definitely try are Murg Malai Tikka and Jalebi with Rabri. Their various efforts to make our experience more beautiful were applaudable. Highly recommend.
Ajjay Mehrra
The presentation of food was innovative but as far as the taste it was very average. None of the fish tasted as something which could be remembered as a jiggs Kalra signature dish
Arsh Chadha
Indian accent is the best restaurant in delhi and i believe must be the best in india too... Wonderful chef s tasting menu... everything was just so so good...

This place serves each and every item in a unique manner. This small difference makes a restaurant different from other. Keep it up

I have visited quiet long time back and posting this review quiet late, they have a la carte options and degustation course, they provided variety of degustation during dinner which they provide starters, main course and desserts which was endless, they have many deconstructed and miniature items for their innovative and creativity.

One of the best restaurants, if you want to have modern Indian food, they have some crazy fusion food like jalebi caviar, charcoal bhajia, shakarkandi kebab each and every item on their chef tasting menu tasted great moreover staff is very good and explain each and every dish in detail, ambience was best in Delhi, I hope this restaurant will open soon for public again :)

Masala Library, a place where food is an experience, with beautiful innovative ways to present food that bring out the different tastes of India.

Food (5/5) - I ordered a Chef's tasting menu ( vegetarian) and we had 19 different dishes.
The portion sizes might seem small at first but buy the end if the meal, you'll be way too full, just like I was!

I don't remember the names of all the dishes but I do remember the names of my favorite ones which are - Saag with Rajasthani Gatta, Truffle Soup, Tingo Mo Bread with Tricolor Curries, Charcoal Ice cream and the Anar flavoured palate cleanser! All of these were absolutely delicious.

Ambience (5/5) - Soft lights with Soft music was the perfect ambience.

Service (5/5) - The wait staff was very friendly and explained each dish to every person at the table while serving it.

Value for money (5/5) - Definitely, it's value for money and I would recommend everyone to try the Chef's tasting menu.

P.S. - This was my first experience at a Chef's tasting menu and I truly enjoyed it.

Crazy way to present food, do it so artistically...!
It’s not just good looks of the food, the food is actually yum. Love the mushroom chai and deconstructed samosa. Try the chef menu... so many dishes to get a taste of...!!!

The best gastronomic experience ever...

Staff was very courteous and patient in explaining every meal and taking you through the journey of flavours.

Portion sizes, when arrived seemed really small, but they were enough to make your pallet curious for next meal. It won’t be more than 2 bites but till the time you reach to the last meal of the course, you would surely be full, but without losing the sense of flavour.

Experimenting with dishes and combining flavours of totally random taste but still complementing the entire dish, was something that really stood out during our entire time there.

I would highly recommend it to all and would love to go there again.

We ate at masala house and had a wonderful experience. The food is exceptionally good and the server jagbir took good care of us. Definitely recommend the place.

The one thing that comes to mind when talking about Masala Library is: innovation. The innovative way in which all the dishes are presented is commendable and truly refreshing. The portion of each dish is small. Initially I thought the entire course won’t be able to fill my stomach, but despite the small portions, I was stuffed until we reached the dessert! Each dish tasted great, with some or the other twist to some common preparations. The staff was very polite and served us with a personalised effort. Overall a great experience! I hope Masala Library reopens soon.

The experience of dining here is super amazing and unique. I would say it is best in India when it comes to food experiment and food fusion. I don't know why they have closed. I hope that they will open it soon, I am eagerly waiting to be surprised by their food art.
Come back soon !!

Masala Library is the real deal. An excellent restaurant that offers an option of serving a 19 course meal (paired with wines) that takes one along a culinary journey around the country. The restaurant is chic, the staff are professional and very positive and the food is out of this world....The art and chemistry that has gone into making these dishes are on another level of sofisticston. I recommend on books a table a few days in advance because it's always full. If you're in Delhi and you're looking for anew unforgettable culinary experience, there's no other but Masala Library...👍

Guys.. why are you closed ? please open it again.
I wana visit you again and experience the best all over again!
Some food memories of the 19 course meal in my pics.
Waiting eagerly

This place has its own charisma, founded by renowned chef with Indian fusion menu. They provide 2 options, Al-karte and set menu, we took the former one, thoroughly enjoyed the food.

This is one of a place and offers one of an experience. My recommendation would be to try the Chef’s menu. It is little expensive yes, I agree but totally meant for a) a special occasion b) if gone with an empty stomach. When they start, you will certainly have a feeling why everything is just so small but hey wait.. you will get to know every portion is just decided and created right. They offer you appetisers, main course , desserts everything to choose from the list (as per the meat preferences). We tried Non Veg Chef’s menu without the wine. The last dessert rolls on air ( definitely the instagram or snapchat moment) and just melts in your mouth. You need to go yourself and experience it.

This comes as a surprise to me that this place is temporary closed. This place gives an experience of a lifetime and it’s a must must visit for all. We had their 19 course meal and each and every dish that came on our table was just extraordinary and mind blowing. From their entre till their dessert, there was nothing that could be tagged below amazing. Their instant noodles was just something still resonates in my mind as the concept is just amazingly good.

I would say if you are a foodie and decor lover
This is the best place , Amazing ambience, warm hospitality and delicious food.
If you are coming to Delhi and looking forward for fine dine then this is the beat ever place.
Right now it is under renovation but believing it to be back with great bang on
I liked there presentation of food to taste of it.

Taste 5/5
Presentation 5/5

My visit was long time back for birthday party of my collegue and got remind of this place when I couldnt find such place to celebrate my birthday

I have been there before 3 months. This place is like a heaven on earth for food lovers. The presentation test and Cherry on top ambience excellent fine dine restaurant in our country overall service excellent...

Hands down one of the best fine dining places in Delhi. Super flexible with allergies / dietary restrictions and the service is amazing. Love that they keep changing the menu, so it’s never boring. Tasting menu is worth doing every time, the portions are just enough to get a taste of everything, and yet leaves enough space to order full portions of a couple of your favorites

If you are in delhi and you are looking for some amazing food then this place is a must try. Though this place is expensive but it is worth a try. They provide seperate smoking areas and dance floors also. They have a beautiful outside sitting arrangement. The ambience is just amazing. And their staff is the best. Now coming to the food, it was just awesome. They have some 19 course meal it is worth a try. You will totally love all the dishes in this meal. And lastly their floating chocolates are the best.
Food-4.5/5
Ambience-5/5
Staff-5/5

Masala Library, just two words, modern & magical! They take you on a food journey through India that leaves you filled with pure bliss, happiness and only praises. It is not normal dining; it is an experience not to be missed. I chose the chef’s tasting menu and I must say I was just yumstruck! Kudos to the team

The food quality was perfect and very tasty and delicious. The presentation of the food was nice. They also have dance floor where u can dance and enjoy. They also provide separate smoking area to them. They also have outdoor seating which is beautifully organized. They also have an amazing crowd

This is a sublime experience in the culinary arts - one which will leave you both speachless; but only so you can savour the lingering tastes left clinging to your palate, and immobiled, because you will most definatley overeat in a gluttonous frenzy.

The 'n' number tasting course was impeccable - one just wants to repeat the previous couse when suddenly another wave of deliciouness would throw you back off your board of composure on this surf of fusion fantasy.

All in all, before the anologies get more cyriptic and my remenising induces a drool, my advice - simply make sure you don't miss this one, it's a treat you won't hasten to forget.

It’s absolutely no wonder that this restaurant has been one of the India’s best since it opened up. It was an absolute delight to dine over here it’s been 6 months and I’m Not yet over the food which I ate there. It was one of the best dining experiences of my life. I tried the chefs tasting menu(VEG). It was a 19 Course meal comprising of variety of different dishes. Every dish was just spectacular the taste the presentation completely blew me away. The price is totally worth every penny. The staff was amazing very courteous and informative about every dish they served. If you’re in Delhi and looking for an absolute different and out of the world dining experience then this IS THE PLACE TO BE AT !!!

Long time I have been postponing writing a review about this awesome restaurant. This is one of a kind restaurant which everyone should have it in their bucket list. I had the tasting menu of around 20 items and I found each and every item superb.
Sonali Agarwal
This is my most sophisticated experience in Delhi . The chefs tasting menu which presents you 19 dishes covering apetizers , main course , desserts are all a visual treat . Blend of tastes and flavours you might not like all , still the way the food is presented is nostalgic . Wine tasting menu is also classic specially the last dessert wine served
Little high on pocket but one time experience its worth it
Quality :5
Quantity : 4
Ambience:4
Service:5
Value For Money :3
Veny1985
The unforgivable kicker- the 19 course meal at masala library was a genuinely matchless experience. Food, service, surroundings everything was exceptional.
Sweetyy Aggarwal Bansal
The place is little over hyped... the food is decent but nothing extraordinary... I thought I ordered very different n fancy dishes but chicken tikka and bhel puri with aalo came on my table ... after spending soo much I dint expected these things to be on my plate ... the taste was okay nothing great ... but the staff is very courteous and the service is great ... ambiance is okay ..
Veda
Feel like a masterchef judge at this place! Taste the bite sized delicacies in the chef special menu (19-21 dishes!!). Each dish speaks of the creativity and taste! The entire menu is designed in such a way that you can are able to try everything. The portion size is perfect, presentation is beautiful and experience is unforgettable. Some of the highlights: the sambar vada in the funnel, bajre ki roti with butter, the mushroom soup, mini lobster, mutton with appam, the dessert platter and mini magic show in the end! It’s worth every penny you spend here.
Ayushmaan
This place has take you through a culinary journey over a period of two and a half hours through signature dishes of the every state in a very grand manner, the food is amazing, the staff is well aware and experience is exhilarating.... 19 course meal .... the only one to be had to get the cumulative taste of India... a must try but do have time on hand

After hearing so much about the place, I decided to book a table (which I did 1 month in advance) to celebrate a special occasion and the staff confirmed my reservation. Unfortunately, 2 days ago the lady called me up saying that the my reservation has been cancelled as the restaurant is going under renovations and will open after 2-3 days also they are fully booked till 25 Feb. They should not confirm the reservations if they don't want the foot fall in their restaurant.

I will never consider going to this place again..!! The restaurant does not deserve the HYPE at all.
Shraddha
The shittiest place ever. They randomly cancel your reservations because they receive other reservations from “VIP”. This place is simply run by a bunch of goons. Sukriti, who takes care of reservations is simply the rudest person I’ve ever spoken too. Their manager, Siddharth, is a big time liar. It’s simply a pretentious place. I wish I could give ratings in ‘minus’.

Talking about the decor, this restaurant will give a feel of a five star hotel’s restaurant. The ambience is lavish with modern and antique interiors

Talking about the food, it was really different and good in taste ,few dishes were amazingly good. If you want explore your taste will recommend you to take buffet this will include lots of dishes in small quantities but will end up filling our stomach because of the vast variety they will serve you.

Presentation of the food is amazingly good. Each dish is served in a such a unique manner that you won’t be able to start without praising it.

Service is very hostile but little slow which is obviously justified with the wide variety they will bring to your table.

A must visit place with friends, family and spouse. Perfect place to play with tastebuds.

Must have:
Rassam vada

My parameters would be:
TastOmeter: 4/5
Ambience: 5/5
Location:
Price :3/5(high)
Service: 4.5/5

If it has to be described in one word- AWESOME... went there for ours Anniversary Dinner.. and we were pleasantly surprised by their presentation. We asked for private dining area and it was allotted to us.. Mr. Puneet was serving us and he was the best at what he does.. the way he was explaining every food item showed his inclination and dedication towards food industry... every things was exceptional.. would recommend to try at least once.

It’s a jigs Kalra restaurent and it’s one of the best standalone restaurant in Delhi. Getting a booking is difficult as it’s always full so for my anniversary I booked a table for two 6 days in advance.
The lady on phone ,I guess Shruti or something confirmed my booking.she even asked if there is an occasion. I was really expecting a wonderful experience but oh! What an experience.
On the date that is 5th of feb. I called the restaurant at 6.30 to confirm that I will be there by 7.15 max but I heard was that “ sorry Sir we are not operating today as restaurant is closed for renovations “. WTF.
I said you had my booking so you should have informed us and then she said “we don’t have any booking by this name. “.
So , make sure you call them 3,4,5 times after booking to confirm your table or keep a backup ready. You never know.
Arushi Verma
Booked the place 10 days in advance only to have them cancel on the day of the reservation. Still haven’t received any compensation reservation for the same.

I won't even recommend it to my enemy. I was really disappointed by the service and food. Above all the quantity of food is really disappointing
This was the last restaurant that I went to before I left Delhi after about a four year stay. I and a friend of mine had reserved seats for 10pm slot on Jan7,2018 n we were there at the place 15 min before hand. The place looks rather more beautiful from the outside, but by no means the ambience inside is underwhelming. Just that my expectations were way too high based on what I had read. Nevertheless the food and the drink very well made up for whatever little I found out of place.

Much has been said about the 19 courses served here over 2 hours, a repetition thus would make no sense to me. Trust me you won't be disappointed. Agreed that it's way too expensive, but for someone who is a food fanatic this place is a go to. My only regret is that I should have placed my order for the chef's wine menu at the very beginning, which I eventually did after much coaxing by my friend. But for the last few minutes when the servers looked distracted and hurried with both my food n wine(to be fair it was half past 12, but ya still...), the experience was exceptionally beautiful.

I WOULD BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO KNOW FROM THE MANAGEMENT THE NAMES OF ALL THE 6 WINES THAT WERE SERVED.

very expensive.
food was average.
overhyped and overrated
concept was good.
but its like way too expensive than it deserves like its unreasonable.

Went there for our anniversary dinner.
Started out with cocktails which were amazing!
For dinner we choose the chef sampling menu, veg and non-veg. It was fantastic! We couldn’t finish most of it, not for the lack of trying though😄
Food - 5/5
Cocktails - 5/5
Ambience- 4/5
It’s a Must visit.

This 19 course meal, was dancing on my palate with each plate. With my first course I thought, if it's going to be this tiny I don't think I'll be full. But boy, how they've build on their menu, you don't feel breaking the rhythm. Food was like music soulful, beautiful symphony and words are not enough. It was delicious to the core.
I will not be describing all the dishes but the dishes I relished most. The madur vada with clear rasam was pretty small but excessively tasty and just made me go more for the next dish. Then there was this deconstructed samosa and it was apt to get that north Indian snacky taste in your mouth. The mushroom chai just blew me away.. it was the best mushroom truffle soup I ever had and the way it was presented was exquisite. Rest of the meal was as expected, as bar was already high but desserts took climax to the whole new level. Jalebi caviar, ashen kulfi and Belgian chocolate were just yum and yum and yum... And more yum. We totally enjoyed the food.. and I don't want anything to be changed.. it's the Chef's menu and it's perfect as it is.
And it's not just the food it's the DECOR too..Large, well lit, wooden screens and ceiling and the bar in center was just spot on.

Masala Library is a culinary experience to be enjoyed atleast once.
The decor is quite simple, clean and beautiful, and the service was exceptional.
We tried the chef tasting menu, that serves us 19 course meal, the stewards explained us whatever we were served, which was really good to hear.
I liked the vada and clear rasam, the chicken tikka cube, Galouti Kebab, the ashen kulfi, however the mushroom chai completely blew me, and it was quite a delight.
This was definitely one of the best dining experiences I have had.

One of the best food is served here with the most welcoming and healthy service provided to the guest !
Must try - Dal Makhani
Best place to eat and get treated well by them :)

It was great experience but the quantity of every dish was to too small too even get the proper taste of it. But its a must try once!!
The dishes are very thoughtful and very beautifully presented .

Most delightful experience ever!
Extraordinary hospitality, sumptuous ambience and not to mention the most scrumptuous and palatable food you will find in the whole of Delhi!
I went with my family and we opted for ala carte instead of the chef's tasting menu.
Each n every dish we ordered was out of the world.
I wanted to taste 'invert samosa' from the Chef's tasting menu, but it was not on the ala carte menu but they still served it to us.
I am just awed by this place and would love to visit again.

The hype was more than the actual experience. People looking for a true fine dining experience can skip this place. Damn, I should have gone here before the place started to fall apart literally! Firstly, what's with the dingy cheap flooring and the worn out linens. And did you think one would be fooled by the shabby curtains. I'm hoping you remember that fine dining is not just a culinary experience, everything that the eyes sees must be up to the standards.

Initially we felt a little ignored by the servers (maybe coz it was just the 2 of us) but during the tasting of the 19 course meal(!!) they became attentive. The experience of tasting everything presented in front of us was great. By the 11th course we started to feel full. I wish I had space to enjoy my main course (damn I should have got the food packed). The waiter suggested a good wine to pair with our meal.

Just go and enjoy all the courses. It's a good one time experience. Although the desserts were a bit of a disappointment.

Masala Library by Jiggs Kalra located in Delhi is one of the finest place in Delhi to dine-in. The high ceiling, beautiful chandelier, simple sitting and double-storey glass facade all gives it a corporate & royal look. This one was in my wish list from a long time and I finally I got the opportunity to cover it recently.

Coming to food, tried their Chef's Tasting Menu paired with wine. Their nineteen-course menu includes starters to main course and to desserts. The starters & snacks are bite-sized. Started with started with an amuse Bouche looked like Eggs, which had coconut and mango mix, it just popped with a lot of flavors once gulped. Now, here are few from the list of 19-course meal;

Deconstructed Samosa: Unlike other samosas it looked really different but the tasted a bit lie samosas, spicy & tangy.

Madur Vada: It was served with rasam & a drop of tomato chutney. Looked cute & adorable, it was crisp & very small.

Farmer's Staple: Well, a half parantha was served with white butter. This was nice & flavorful.

Mushroom Chai: This was excellent! The lovely dried mushrooms are put in a cup, then a mushroom broth is poured on it with a little bit of truffle.

Galouti Kebab: Melt-in-mouth!! When looked first it looked like noodles, the lovely kebabs were served on a sheermal & tasted just fantastic.

Radhuni Sea Bass: One of the best things here. The soft Basa was coated in celery, radhuni & topped with fried pui saag. The Pui Saag gave the dish a lovely crisp texture.

The main Course mains were all really delicious. I loved the every bite of whatever I had. Morever, the wines were paired perfectly with every dish, be it the snacks or the main course or even the desserts.

Coming to desserts I loved Jalebi Caviar which had jalebi in boondi lie structure, it was crispy & delicious! Another winner for me was Chocolate Truffle served in a marvelous way & tasted excellent.

Surely one of the places worth going to in Delhi!!
Just next to Le meredien, Janpath, this place surely has a royal entrance, not only the entrance, infact the interiors make you speak wow!!
We began with the meal and we were surprised and elated to see the presentation.
Madur vada was the first dish served, a tiny vada that just increased my expectations from this place.
Then from the 19 course meal, came the dahi vada, farmer’s staple and what not!!
Later, we were served Mushroom chai, perhaps the best thing I have ever had!! Try it to know it because that’s the thing for which you will come again for!!

Then, I was served Raj kachodi and lal maas, I am sure this would definitely be on my recommended list for a very long time!!

For the main course, we were served with dal and risotto, also the breads that included tingmo, a tibetan bread.

For desserts, don’t miss their daulat ki chaat and jalebi.
The jalebi caviar would just give that perfect end to your meal, perhaps one of the best Jalebi’s that I have had, both presentation and taste wise.

When I went there for the first time I was given an option of the tasting menu which is a 19 course bite size serving meal and the a la carte menu. I wanted to keep it simple so we ordered chicken tikka, tandoori paneer rolls, dal makhni and butter chicken. Real simple.
All four of these things were one of the best of best I had ever tasted accompanied by amazing service by the friendliest staff. We were served by man called Ankush.
Would definitely recommend the paneer roll and butter chicken.

Masala Library has always been on my must visit list from quite long time and finally i grabbed upon a chance to visit here.
It is located near Central Delhi or you can say connought place . It’s was a bliss for my eyes when i entered there. They have full top to bottom wooden cubes ( till ceiling ) in which wines have been placed beautifully. Also they have different types of glasses for wines served in different courses.

• Jhal muri - a starter from west Bengal totally amazed me as it was presented in an innovative and modern way on a flat black rectangular tile. With the basics being the same. Unique thing was it had Dextrin which was used a binding agent (extract of a plant).

• Madhur vada - a starter inspired from Rajasthan. Served in a unique off white vessel, it had vada made up of sponge and towards other was aired curd. Mix it up and there you have it.

•Nadir Churma - it was mainly made up of crispy fried lotus stem with radish chutney, topped with shredded radish. It had to be specifically tasted with a wooden spoon.

•Farmer’s Staple - inspired by the farmers, this a mini parantha in layman terms, made up of Sattu ( roasted black bean flour), cooked in butter and served with achari butter. Totally inspirational and delicious.

•Deconstruction of Samosa - served over a paan shaped leaf, this starter had a long fried log representing outer layer of samosa topped with mashed potato and pea with a slight dash of chutney.

•Mushroom Chai- it was served after starters in soup course. Dehydrated mushroom presented tea leaved and truffle oil crumbs the sugar. Combination of both was what we call mushroom chai. To be honest i don’t like mushroom but this was satisfying and stress relieving buster.

•Corn popper - inspired by Madhya Pradesh it had melted cheese inside, coated with semolina and served with bhutte ki chutney. I loved it!

•Wine course - to raise the toast they also serve you with Champagne at the very first, followed by wine course which consist of 6 different type of wines according to the course which you are in. Till this time our 3rd wine was being served.

• Hara Bhara kebab - soft kebab consisting of parmesan cheese, smoked tomato, pesto in italian sauce. This was really a good green piece i had.

•Gujarati Panko- kind off kind a Gujarati pancake. Nice and innovative dish.

• Matar Mushroom- sever with mushroom soufflé and dust, it was filled with pea chutney inside.

• Karonda and Anardana Churan Chuski - this was which was inspired from the childhood memories. The time when we used to take Chuski from street vendor. Nice . It made me go back into memories and obviously left a grin on my face from ear to ear.

• Veg Thukpa - pan sorted vegetables served along clear veg broth. To level it up, they poured in green pea moda from a ketchup shaped bottle and as it as it entered in Thukpa it turned into noodles. Wow. That was amazing.

In main course i had
• Butter Chicken- small little chunks of chicken cooked with Italian tomatoes as they are less acidic and would taste even delightful. I loved it. Recommended.

•Gujarati Curry Risotto - Italian rice served in Gujarati style.

• Pumpkin and Tomato Curry - the name says it all. Served with Tibetan bread. The curry was colourful and tangy.

Desserts -

• Banana nut kulfi with Shakarpara crisp and cashew dust. This made an epic combination.

• Orange cavier, saffron sponge and milk with pista on the top. This was so delicious that i wanted to have it again and again. Recommended.

• Chocolate Truffle - the presentation was mind blowing to be honest. It was served over a plate which was put against magnets so that it made it float in the air. Truffle was made with 70 percent chocolate so it was pretty healthier. Taste was that of a dark chocolate.

Staff - Till now i have not came across such a place which is as good as this one. Be it quick timing, knowledge about the dish, way of presenting dish of may he even pouring a drink. Keep it up. You nailed it. Thanks Mr. Rahul for this specially.

Overall, it is an epic place to visit for special occasions. Impressive ambience, dishes, cutlery and staff.

We all know the famous saying: "money can't buy happiness". The author of this wise quote never had the chance to buy a meal at Masala Library for doubtlessly he (or she, no need to be sexist now!) would have changed his opinion after sampling the wares that Masala Library has to offer.

I had been planning to visit Masala Library for the longest time and a fortunate mid week break saw me headed there for lunch last week. Getting a table here is no trivial task so you'd be better off calling well in advance or be prepared for a generous helping of disappointment with a side of frustration 😆

Moving on to the food, ML offers a chef's tasting menu as well as a a la carte selection. Being in an adventurous mood we decided to sample the tasting menu which consists of 19 dishes covering snacks, appetizers, main course and 4 desserts to boot. Patrons also have the option of pairing 6 rounds of wine with all this food debauchery but we skipped that particular temptation.

Our culinary marathon started off with a Medhu Vada which was essentially a morsel sized vada paired with a small sip of rasam. While the offering was gone in the blink of an eye, it kept us curious about what was to come.

The snacks started with a Deconstructed Samosa - an interesting take on the classical snack. This was followed by a Dahi Vada (baked, not fried as informed by the staff!) served in a hollowed out stone - very interesting choice of serving dish to say the least. After brief gaps we were then treated to a Jhaalmuri, Lotus Stem and Sattu Paratha. The pickled butter accompanying the paratha was something I went to town on, a fact that didn't escape the staff's attention so they got me additional helpings without waiting for me to ask :) The snacks were rounded up with what was labelled Mushroom Chai - basically a blinged out version of mushroom soup.

The snacks were an all vegetarian affair, the non veggies started with the appetiser round. We first sampled a Galouti Kabab with a sheermal at its centre. Since we were very selective with our seafood offered Prawn & Curd Rice however people with more adventurous taste buds can opt for fish or lobster based dishes. Next up were a Haleem, Keema Karela (loved the keema but not a real fan of Karela), pork and Chicken Tikka. The tikka even had a chicken tikka papad - a first for me.

As the main course approached, we were afraid that we had bitten off more than what we could chew (no pun intended!) But we soldiered ahead anyway. The first dish for the main course was ML's take on a Rajasthani Kachori, the kachori itself rested on a bed of Laal Maas, a thick gravy is poured onto the dish after poking a hole in kachori turning everything into a delicious mush. What followed was according to me the star of the evening - Butter Chicken. Yes, the same dish that is repeated across countless restaurant menus across the length and breadth of the nation but this possibly had to be the most amazing rendering of the dish that I ever came across! If my stomach wasn't close to bursting from all the feasting I had done, I would have gladly stuck to the butter chicken for the entire meal. The last dish for the course was a small collection featuring an Andhra Curry, a daal and ML's answer to a risotto, all of it lip smacking good but by this time I had eaten so much that I was hardly in a condition to do justice to what was on offer.

To say that we were treated to some amazing food would be the understatement of the year akin to saying that Tendulkar is just a good batsman (oh the sacrilege ;) The Masala Library experience went well beyond the food itself be it the Spartan yet elegant ambience, the relaxed vibe (our meal lasted close to two hours!) or the amazing staff. To wind up, if you haven't experienced what is possibly Delhi's best restaurant please do yourself a favour and visit it now!!
MASALA LIBRARY BY JIGGS KALRA is one of the finest places I’ve ever visited. Everything including my experience was at par excellence.

The place is really very convenient to reach and just beside Le Meridian hotel. It is a fine dine restaurant and has a really beautiful and mesmerizing interior with that big chandelier hanging. Service was really courteous and amazing.

I opted for their 19 course meal in which they served us cuisines from all the different parts of India with some spectacular wines for every taste. Few items which I really liked and I think were really exceptional-

Medu vada with Rasam

Deconstructed samosa

Mushroom Chai

Farmer’s staple

Belgium chocolate truffle

They deserve a whole lot of appreciation for their presentation.

If you’re a food lover then you can’t miss on this place because you will surely have some amazing food and a different experience here!!

Masala Library, a masterpeice by Jiggs Kalra, aims at representing culinary excellence from across the geographical landscape of the indian subcontinent. The food and service is an experience in itself. I opted for the 19 course chef's tasting menu, priced at Rs. 2500++ (additionaly Rs. 2500 for 6 tasting wine glasses), we started with the Amuse Boruche, served both to prepare the guest for the meal and to offer a glimpse into the chef's approach to the art of cuisine. A work of art indeed. Starting with the snacks , we were served Medu Vada and Clear Rasam resting in a pipe, the presentation deserves much appreciation. Next we tried the Deconstructed Samosa, baked samosa strip topped with mashed potatoes and peas. The Nadur Churma, a kashmiri dish, was also exceptional. The Farmer's staple, a sattu paratha, was delicious. We were then served the Mushroom chai, which was exceptional. Next, was the corn khees poppers, jackfruit and raw cashew kuzhambu, and pesto kebab, which were again delightful. The Gujarati paankhi was super soft and flavourful, the mushroom matar was a delight to for my tastebuds. We were then served the Cranberry Sorbet, which was quite refreshing. We continued with our meals, and were then served Mizo Stew, water chestnut with garam masala korma, bhindi jaipuri along with hearty curry. For the desserts, we tried the Makhan malai, ashen kulfi and the rabri cavier. Towards the end the chef joined us and asked about our meal and for suggestions and brought with him, Belgium chocolate truffles which rested on the magnets. The meal ended with the Orange tree, which were dehydrated slices of oranges. Each dish was expectionally plated and given utmost attention, the service was definately one of the best I have received. It was not just a meal but a wholesome experience, where all the dishes that were being served, the story and philosophy behind were well told.

'Classy' is the first word that'd come to your mind the moment you set foot in the glass and gold themed restaurant. Aptly chosen by wifey as the place for the Birthday Lunch it was warm and hospitable from the time we arrived and till we were comfortably seated in our car to leave on the rainy winter afternoon after spending nearly three hours eating. One can spend a fair deal of time admiring the towering columns stuffed with world's best wines and champagnes in the bar. But this is just till the food starts to arrive.

We went for chef's special tasting menu over the à la carte at the host’s recommendation. The menu was a lavish spread of a 21 course lunch (YES TWENTY ONE) with sub-ranges of pre-starters, starters, main course and desserts.

All the items served were done so with lot of attention to detail to deliver the pure and intended flavors. Was blown away with the taste and flavor every single item served on my table . Moreover the servings came in a comfortably paced succession and portion sizes were wisely chosen to impart the full flavor of the preparation while still saving appetite for the next one.

Items like the Mushroom Chai, Mutton Galouti, The Chicken Tikka (served with chutney and poppadum which were also prepared from Chicken Tikka) left us craving for more, but then, we were set to make it till the last course so had to move on. Though we chose to skip but one also has an option to go for a wine tasting menu that offered 6 servings of assorted wine and champagne to go with the tasting menu. The best part the chef's menu was the flavors and spices taken from different parts of India (Right from Gujrat till Mizoram) and presented in a fusion form with an exotic feel.

What the chef does to the food can only be called sorcery and that too a very nicely executed one. It'd easily rate the ambiance, hospitality, taste, portions and the sheer experience the place has to offer a Five on Five.

Strongly recommend the place.

Highly overrated. All hype and no substance. Went for a meal with colleagues last week but was very disappointed. Although I took a nineteen course dinner but still came back hungry. The problem with the food was that though ostensibly it was a Pan Indian fusion cuisine. but it ended up being a "khichdi "of regional food items In the endeavor to promote the so called fusion cuisine, the basic essence of the dishes was also destroyed. The size of serving was also minimal. Definitely not meant for a person not with eclectic tastes.
Gaurav Verma
Probably the best presented, most innovative indian fusion dishes that I have ever tasted till date. It deserves the perfect score as it is perfect in every possible sense. What you look forward for in a fine dine, you get much more than that. The nine course meal is fantastic and the portions are also enough to complete the full course (though otherwise you might find them a bit small). There are few things that one needs to keep in mind, no kids allowed, very expensive and booking at least a week in advance. Mr. Jiggs Kalra deserves a 6/5 !

I visited this enchanting place a week ago.

The bar is at the entrance which actually made the look super classy. The place is quite spacious and the seating is more than comfortable.

The staff is very well mannered and they have exceptionally well communication skills as well.I really liked the place.

The presentation of the dishes is up to the mark. The taste in food is good. They have a wide variety to choose from. The dessert can be improved though. The flying chocolate served at the end was really good.I couldn't stop myself from picking up more.

Overall, I had a really great time at this place. And I recommend it.It is really fancy and a perfect place to click some good pictures.

Truly one of the most exceptional contemporary Indian cuisine finds. The 19 course tasting menu was well thought through and executed brilliantly. Each course with distinct flavours representing parts of this diverse country and tying it all harmoniously into one wholesome and hearty meal is a challenge.

Team CC recommends :
The Tasting Menu

P.S - We hope you're hungry.

Our second visit to the restaurant, the menu had changed as well! This place is lovely, both times we went for the tasting menu which is perfect for a place like this- they get to showcase their best while we eat to the heart's (and abdominal) content.

A 21 course meal, served by an attentive staff who cares for your preferences. We each had our own favorites in the new menu while some dishes have been kept constant. I liked the mushroom tea and the flambeau dark chocolate etc. As well as the jackfruit kebab.
Veronica Abba
I would have preferred if the food was served hot, since we were just 2 couple and they spend sufficient time in plating. This takes off the hunger and ultimately turns the dinning experience into suspense, thriller cum theatrical experience. We opted for the chefs tasting menu which is basically a 19-course-small portion meal. Appetizers were amazing and main course was a peripheral disappointment as compared to the rest of the menu. I loved the Desserts- Unique experience. Must try once!

Masala Library is unique style with brand name restaurant. It is famous for its ambiance, food presentation, wine, different culture food and on top for their taste. They have chef special menu and al-carte menu as well. We had chef special which contain best dishes from different part of India and outside India. Starting with starters to main course you will get delicious dishes and you have option to add wine with your meals and wine are quite fine in taste and on the last desert was quite tasty.

The restaurant is right beside Le Meridian, Janpath. I came to know about this restaurant from a friend of mine. When I read about it and looked for Jiggs, I was more excited to visit this one.

The restaurant totally met my expectations. From their interiors to their staff, from service to their food everything was top-notch.

The fixed menu serves 19 dishes which are totally and totally different from each other and covering almost all the famous cuisines of India.

By paying 2500 extra you get to taste 75ml of their 6 different wines... 10/10

The servers make your food journey very comfortable and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Bookmark it guys.!

Great food with impeccable display ..... an amazing experience , while some might be in dilemma to go with fixed menu or a la carte , I reccomend to go with the fixed menu , coz that’s when you experience masala library in true sense , to top it all the service was what won my heart , one of the best I have ever experienced in india ...

The less you know about the restaurant the more you will love things about here. Today in my review I won’t write much about the food but my experience I had here.

When you enter you will see a huge rack of bottles of liquor. It is not a very huge place but still it is very well planned. Our server for the evening was Ankush. He knows how to deal.!

You have an option to choose from veg and non veg option and that is it.! They start your journey of food by bringing you various food items from different indian cuisines.

The service is very quick. You dont need to wait long for your next dish to come. The servers explain you very well about the dish served to you. I was very much fascinated with the presentation of the food with the cutlery. 10 on 10.

It is perfect for a date or bring anyone you want to impress. There is nothing I dint like about the restaurant and will always be on my go-to list.

If you find this review any helpful, follow me on Zomato and Instagram @delhicravings

Masala Library - Qabil-e-yaqeen.
This is one of the top 5 restaurants in Delhi for a reason. The reason is not the amazing food (which is stating the obvious), it is not the ambience (which is breathtaking), it is not the concept food (which is so innovative and complements one and all), it is not the location (which is perfectly Delhi), it is not the hassle free parking (10/10 for the valet service), it is not the price (very appropriately priced), but it is the SERVICE which goes along with all of the above. Their staff is incredible and incredible is an understatement. They are the typically raw yet well trained "Delhi's talent". Like a breath of fresh air, they are not full of themselves but let their work speak, they are perfect at their job. They do not shy away from speaking in Hindi (since most waiting staff and butlers in the high end Delhi restaurants consider it beneath them to converse in Hindi), they recognise your taste buds from the moment you order your starters and then recommend further.
The meats presented were succulent, tender and flavourful. Lost in bliss of that, please do not miss their vegetarian dishes. They are equally incredible! We didn't have the chance to order desserts because we were too full!
The breads, however were just a little less than perfect. I have had better mirchi parathas, malabari naans and laccha paranthas.
I'd just say, if there is a food heaven on Earth, it is here, it is here, it is here.

Finally got an opportunity to visit Masala Library recently, when we were celebrating our parents wedding anniversary.

The location of the restaurant is amazing, right in the middle of central Delhi. The decor is captivating, with the bar and wine racks taking centre stage. The service was superb, very friendly and attentive. While the service was fast, the food wasn't hot when served, it was border line warm. This was the only thing that took away from the experience.

Most of what we ate here was great. The galauti kebabs, mutton telangana, mustardy potatoe main course and jalebi were exceptional. The butter chicken, mutton curry and paneer starter were good. The tiger prawn starter and mutton seekh starter weren't great. The palate cleansers were okay except for the candied orange, which we all avoided. Also, while the exhibition with magnets was gimmicky, with no relevance to food, the chocolates served with it were superb.

Overall Masala Library is an experience worth enjoying.

Personally I never want to write negative reviews. But this place really made me disappointed. Inspite of having a confirmation on call for a table for two, we were not allowed to enter the premises. Thank you Masala Library for this great experience!

This place is located at janpath, 10 mins away from rajiv chowk metro station. They have huge open bar setup. Jiggs karla is famous for unique presentation and innovation at it best. The interior are beautiful, specially the way they have kept the wine. On my recent visit i had tried the 19 Course Meal at Masala Library.
We started with few of the cocktails
1. Red berry shrub :- all berry with apple juice and lime, one of my fav mocktail from this place
2. Innocent passion :- it was a mocktail, it had a mixture of passion fruit, pineapple and caramel
3. Between the sheets :- it was a cocktail with a mixture combination of cuban rum, orange liqueur & v.s cognac
4. Mojito :- it was a refreshing mocktail which had white rum, lime, sugar & top up with soda

My top pick out of the 19 main course
1. Madur vada along with rasam
2. Deconstruction of samosas
3. Dahi vad
4. Nadir churma
5. Mushroom chai
6. Gulato kebab
7. Chicken tikka
8. Anda curry
9. Jalebi cavior
10. Chocolate ball

Overall i enjoyed my masala library buffet and would definitely recommend this

Location 5/5
Ambiance 4.5/5
Food 5/5
Service 5/5
Overall 5/5

It is located at Janpath road, Connaught Place. It has a prime location in Delhi. It is featured as luxury dining restaurant. It has a variety in their menu. Each and every dish has a meaning to it. Their recipe is for sure unique. We had tried the chefs tasting menu, a 18 course menu. It had included snacks, soup, starters, main course and last but not the least desserts. Along with it we had ordered one mocktail and one wine. They had given us six wines for tasting each from different regions. The cleanliness is well maintained. The staff is very cooperative as well. The staff has the complete knowledge about what they serve with the proper description of the food. They have different cutlery for each kind of dish which is their specialty. The serving is great. The food taste is just mind blowing and has no competition. They have one of the dark chocolate dessert with actually floats in the air and it is so unique as they put a very cold charcoal down and this is experimented only by two restaurants worldwide. In the snacks they serve us from different states of India that are Bangalore, South Indian, Delhi and many more states.
We had ordered:-
1. Madur vada with clear rasam
2. Go for the experience maybe but sadly the restraunt does not live up to its name/hype. And God forbid you take more than 3 hours to complete your 19 course chef's tasting menu..be prepared to leave everything mid way and move out ...all that renowned staff courtesy and finesse goes right out the window!

They need to step up their service game majorly! For a person who's shelling out close to 3K per seat, you need to be a little more accommodative. The only highlight was the pork belly, ghalouti deconstructed and the levitating chocolates/candied orange in the end. Rest was meh..

Given a choice between Indian Accent and Masala Library, definitely go in for the former ....ALWAYS.

At least that'll be value for money.

Went over the weekend to Masala Library to experience their Degustation meal as had heard a lot of friends appreciating their deconstructed meals and the whole experience.
First of all the servers were very attentive knowledgeable courteous and above all accommodating. So a very big plus to that. Their concern about even the minutest detail is praise worthy as half the experience is about how you are served and treated in a restaurant.
Deconstructed Food: When any chef presents a deconstructed meal then it should be better than the original otherwise the whole point of revamping it is defeated. And this is where Masala Library fumbles. Some of their dishes were outstanding and every morsel of that dish a pleasure for the taste buds. Their dehydrated Nadru with radish and walnut curd was an absolute delight. And their Mushroom tea was simply out of this world. Even the foam curd with sponge Bhalla was noteworthy.
But the deconstructed samosa, their rasam wada, jhaal Moori needs more work.
We opted for the mutton haleem, chicken tikka with chicken pate and dehydrated crisp and both were succulent and tasty but the Keema khurchan with karela/ tikka and mutton galouti both were a let down in terms of taste.
Main Course: When you opt for Non Vegetarian Food you want more of non veg dishes and this is where they fumbled. The steamed Mizo broth with black rice evoked mixed emotions from the table. More so as it tasted different than the usual fare that the elders were used to but the youngsters loved it. The best was the kachori filled with Lal Maas served with gravy on the side. Yummy beautifully presented and better than the original too. Now where they went wrong was when they gave lentils, Singhada in gravy and cod risotto with beautiful breads on the side at the end of the main course. The lentils and singhada both were tasty but the Cod Risotto was bad. Now when you end a non veg main course and that also Indian then it should end with mutton and chicken dishes with breads in the side. They could’ve have served a deconstructed biryani instead of risotto which was looking totally out of place.
Desert: They ended on a very beautiful and sweet note. Their jalebi with pistachio and foam rabari was an awesome piece of art work in that beautiful dome like dish. But the other two ie the daulat ki kheer and kulfi needs to be tweaked a little for that absolute culinary experience.
The chocolate truffles served in the end by the chef was a treat for the eyes as well as the tastebuds. What a beautiful presentation the chef had put up. The dehydrated Californian Orange slices were yummy. I wanted them to be packed and given to us as they were that delicious.
Presentation: Loved their use of cutlery and quirky dishes that they used to serve their food.
All in all a wonderful experience but they still need to tweak things here and there to make it worth the money they are charging.

We opted for the chef’s special menu (Veg).
I have always been finicky about what all veggies my dish particularly has. The service was commendable. The staff explained the ingredients and preparation of all the items so well. The ambience was amazing, the food was just delicious. In the desserts, the ‘Jalebi’ was presented unrecognisably differently and was too yummy!

The flavours and the whole concept of modern and indian fusion is worth experiencing and worth each penny. Thanks for such a pleasant service.

We opted for the chefs tasting menu which is basically a 19-course-small portion meal. The appetizers were amazing. However I would have preferred if the food was served hot, since ours was a big table and they spend sufficent time in plating which we assume was the culprit. The main course was a peripheral disappointment as compared to the rest of the menu. Desserts could have been better.
Otherwise a unique experience. Must try!

First of all let's put the Indian Accent vs Masala Library debate to rest - there is no competition. They are in completely different leagues.

Masala Library is interesting but I could not find that X-factor that would justify the hype. They have interesting presentation and a few creative dishes but lack the true innovation and fusion of flavours that one expects from a restaurant specialising in Modern Indian cuisine. Having said that, once you strip the hype the restaurant does have its moments.

First and foremost, the sommelier Shruti knows her stuff and made an excellent recommendation on wine. That is always special. Service is generally good and they sincerely try to please the guests. The place is noisier than you would expect from a fine dine which sometimes makes it awkward while communicating with the server or others at your table. I guess this is an artefact of the design of the place with a high ceiling and too many hard reflecting surfaces.

The food - most people tend to go for the chef's tasting menu and if that works for you it is definitely a better choice. For us there were many constraints due to preferences and allergies to certain ingredients so we opted for a la carte. First thing we observed is that some of their popular and signature dishes (eg deconstructed samosa) are only available as part of the tasting menu. Disappointing and not sure why they think this is a good idea. Anyway, we tried to make the most of what we could have based on the recommendations of the staff. Food was good, even interesting. But as I said before, where's the X-factor that justifies the hype?

Final word - overall a decent experience. If you plan to visit then definitely plan on taking the chef's tasting menu.

I have stopped writing Food reviews but Masala Library was a special experience & it definately deserves 5*

We went for the chef tasting Menu (costs around 2800/- incl. Taxes) and is worth every penny. While the starter portions were small, mains were good portions also their staff offered any of the dishes repeat if We liked or did not feel full by the end.

Each and every portion was thoughtful & delectable. When I was served kurkuri bhindi with punjabi curry, I was not feeling it but it turned out to be my favourite dish out of all 19 courses We had.

This is not your every other day joint as its little expensive but it is a perfect setting for a special occasions. We celebrated our anniversary here and memories will last for a good time.
Divya Mittal

Dining here is not just about the food but it's a panoramic experience . Each table has a private server who would make sure you have a pleasant meal. I had the 19 course set meal. I would surely recommend a first time visitor to try it. The 19 course will introduce you to vast cuisines available in the country. The flavors are authentic and do justice to each region they come from, while the presentation is modern. One dish that stood out for me was the lobster in coconut sauce which was part of the main course. They have limited seating, so they ensure that each customer gets the perfect treatment.

After a long time I had been to such a wonderful place with simply amazing and classic ambiance . Their location is the most important factor way before the traffic area of Janpath. They have got a huge bar counter . The staff was entirely very cooperative and attentive. Wonderful service and more than that it's master chef kinda presentation will just amaze you for sure .
Coming on to the food 😋... They have got a different concept of serving 19 types of different meal .. taste of which they have gathered from around the various countries in the world . So I would be giving you a glimpse of some of their must try dishes as per me .
We started with a welcome drink.
Madur vada with rasam - amazing combo
Mango pirada - combo with some mango cheese
Deconstructed Samosa - A wonderful innovation at their end and you would simply gonna love it for sure .
Nadir Churma - A dried Lotus stem served with a tasty chutney.
Mushroom chai - this was like woow for me ... Again a great innovation .. the taste and fragrance of mushroom tea would definitely satify your taste buds.A must try for all !
Galouti kebab, corn cheese cutlets , jhalmuri and farmer’s staple are again something different that were served.

Then they will serve you with a Sorbet made up of karonde and anardana to clear up to taste buds for main course . I simply loved it and it's presentation also .
Bhindi Jaipuri ,Dhokla , seasonal greens Saag and steamed gatte were served in main course and also they had a very different roti of assam and laccha Parantha seved with 3 Curries .
The staff and the chef himself were so generous to ask about the taste and feedback on the overall food.. which was a very nice gesture at their end .
Now the surprise doesn't ends up here... The desserts were still remaining...😋😋
Jalebi caviar - jalebi served with rabri in an authentic way ... And tasted amazing .
Ashen kulfi - one of the best kulfi I ever had .. made from the ashes of banana leaves. A great experiment done and it would definitely amaze you .
It was a great experience here... Totally value for money ... Do visit for some great experience !!

A beautiful standalone restaurant next to Le Meridian in Central Delhi, Masala Library is a perfect Valentines Day Spot. However the crowd composed of older gentry and is not exactly hep but is certainly classy. The oversized chandelier steals the show. Cutlery is well thought out, quirky and understated. Reservations are necessary at this place as the seating space is quite limited. I ordered a berry mocktail and it was delicious. They serve Chicken Tikka with Ragi Papad and it was certainly the best presented chicken tikka I have ever had. For the main course we had Rajasthani Mutton with kachori which was a mutton gravy dish served in a kachori. Kind of like Raj Kachori Style. It was a simple but brilliant take on how to present thick gravy dishes that I would definitely try at home.
The palate cleansers were good but the frozen popsicle was eerily similar to the one served at Indian Accent. The chef also gave us a complementary demonstration of Chocolate Levitation which was a couple of chocolate balls floating in the air due to magnets. It was definitely instaworthy.
I would definitely recommend it to everyone as a one time visit for the presentation, but the food in terms of taste was not that different. Portions were generous and the staff courteous.

Masala Library is not a new name in the heart of Delhi and I recently this place over dinner.
We had their 19 course menu. The most attractive thing about this gem of Jiggs Kalra is the presentation and the hospitality. There was a dedicated attended for our table and the way he was patiently explaining every dish while serving was commendable.
The best amongst the menu was :
* Mushroom Chai 😍
* Deconstructed samosa 😍

The Litti chokha was a too lil hard and could have been better. Even the main course dhokla and papad sabji weren't that great.

Coming to the desserts Jalebi Cavier redefines the authentic rabri jalebi and is a must try.

Also, as a complimentary dessert they give an exclusive chocolate ball. It was just scrumptious.
The presentation was amazing, they used some magnetic technology that made these chocolate balls levitate in the air. Worth an experience 👌

Overall it serves an astounding presentation, good hospitality and mesmerising ambience.

Cheers to an overwhelming luxurious dining experience!!
P.S. Keep 2.5-3 hours for the tasting menu at disposal

This restaurant by Jiggs Kalra is a true gem! Located on Janpath, it is hard to miss as you drive by when it dazzles you by its modern chic appearance with beautiful lighting. Masala Library it is-a burst of varied flavors and creative dishes and an overall amazing experience.

Make your booking in advance as this place is usually full. The dishes are truly creative and extraordinary to say the least. The staff is attentive and simply wonderful.

We went there for a family birthday dinner and they made it truly special. They have a tasting menu of 19 courses that are served leisurely over three hours. They also have a la carte dining but we decided to go for the former.

Oh my…what an experience! One by one the waiter brought in one unusual dish after another. They were original, creative, delicious and artistically presented and totally unique. We tried both the vegetarian and non-vegetarian courses and both were simply outstanding. The dishes were varied, from various regions of India yet light enough, with the helpings being small, that even 19 courses we didn’t feel overly full.

The end was spectacular. They did a mind-blowing demo of floating pieces in air and chocolate balls placed on top of it. They made a special chocolate with “happy birthday” written on it at the end.

This restaurant beats all the restaurants in Delhi. The cheque was a bomb but it was worth every morsel, especially for special occasions.

What a grand experience! I can’t wait to visit again. Look at my pictures and you will see for yourself. I melt inside every time I see them.

Bad experience. I took my parents for a special evening on their 53rd anniversary to this supposed special place - Jiggs Kalras Masala Library. We were grandly informed on the phone while making the reservation that there are two slots 7 pm and 10 pm which are available for dinner. We chose the 10 pm. Reached sharp at 10 pm, to be told that 5 mins are required for the table to be free. The five mins continued to be 30 mins and there were no signs of the table being free. To top it the staff were laughing when we were complaining to the manager of the long wait which didnt seem to be ending. I wonder why have slots if you cant honour it. The special evening was ruined and my mother who doesnt keep too well and who had made the effort to come out on this evening was quite discomfited. Anybody who is keen to experience Masala Library, please be warned of the very flexible slots they offer and the long wait which is possible. We ofcourse didnt think it was worth the wait and decided not to stay for dinner. For an exclusive place it is supposed to be, it is quite sadly managed.
