Review Guppy - New Delhi

Life of Paetoo
We go to a cafe or a restaurant for food, but this Japanese restaurant had it all, from cute interiors to yummy food to the best hospitality ever. As you open the door of this place, you feel like you are entering a wonderland. The colourful artwork on the walls, the hanging Japanese dolls and the pastel cutlery are enough to melt your heart. But no, that's not all! As soon as your taste buds experience the delectable Japanese food, they say, 'One more bite, please'. So, what are you waiting for? Head to this beautiful cafe. Plan your weekend lunch dates with your girl gang or your family. We assure you, you'll come back with a big smile.

Located behind one section of the Lodhi Market, this is an amazing restaurant to bring persons with reduced mobility as everything is located on the ground floor. The service was very professional and they kept a discreet watch on our table and helped us order too. The food was delectable and the ambience quirky and quiet which made for an amazing conversation with friends.

Strong flavor to the Japanese cuisine. The prawns were great. The spicy edamame was fun to try.

Amazing food and hospitality. I had visited Guppy to celebrate an important academic milestone with my partner and it was all worth it. The asparagus-tempura sushi is unarguably their best dish on the menu. The rose wine was indeed very fragrant.

Guppy is my favourite Japanese restaurant in Delhi. The food is greattt and so is the hospitality. I love the vibe of the place and I end up going there quite often. Shatarupa always looks after us and the staff is polite, friendly and helpful. One of the few places that never disappoints.

A great lunch for 10 of us. Excellent service, very polite and efficient. The food was great. Sushi/sashimi was fresh and well prepared with minimum fuss. The vegetarian stuff was appreciated by the parents. A nice Wasabi Cocktail was appreciated by the ladies as well.

Guppy is placed in the heart of the city . It's a small little restaurant. Really cute interior . Food is really good . All the flavors are authentic . Loved it. It's a must try for all the Japanese cuisine lovers . Will definitely visit again .

We ordered few signature dishes and was impressed with the pork belly dish. Hats off to the chef. However we were disappointed over the black rice bacon sushi which was dry and tasteless. It was a challenge to swallow it without drinking water or juice. Prices are a bit steeper in regard to the quantity as compared to other similar restaurants in the area within Lodhi colony and Khan market. I would definitely come again just for the pork belly. Would like to try the sashimi next time. Cute interiors and vibrant.

It's a nice small restaurant serving authentic japanese cuisine. The ambience is modern with Japanese elements thrown in between. The staff is very cordial taking all covid-19 precautions. Opted for chef's fix lunch. It gives you a good impression of Japanese food, specially for people like me who have been newly introduced to this lovely cuisine. Being a vegetarian the menu is not at all disappointing. Met the chef who was very humble and interactive. Hope to visit soon in near future and try out other dishes.

The food was good and the ambience and staff very good. The menu was a bit limited. Udon noodles and cubed beef were excellent, but the matcha pudding was a bit boring. Sushi and sashimi were good but not really special. The best part of the place is that it's tucked away in a fairly quiet corner of Delhi.

Great ambience, clean, and ample parking space. A great variety in menu. Absolutely a great choice. The food varieties are slightly Indian used and may not taste authentic Japanese. Still ok, decent good at good rates.

Guppy is a japense restaurant near jorbagh metro. The place is just 5-7 min away from metro station. The place has some great dishes to try. The graffitti walls were beautiful with some amazing art work done and the ceiling had nice lighting. The seats are comfortable and its a formal fine dine in outlet. The place has a capacity of 50- 70 people. The food was totally japenese and tasted nice. We tried some 5-7 veg items and 3-4 nonveg. Every dish had a good taste baring 1-2 which were not so good. The staff is polite and nice helpful. The veg dishes we tried Black rice calfornia roll crisp vegetable harumok tempamyaki vegetable garlic fried rice udoon noodles mushroom tokyo honey toast non veg items spicy salmon rolls chicken wings grilled chicken breast The drinks were amazing with nice presentation n taste .. so i had 5 drinks Orange triangle Avalanch Smoothie Currnet affairs Daisy Lemon Ninja

Guppy means freshwater fish and I have known guppy as one of the best places to enjoy Japanese dishes. With their unusual interiors that will make you fall in love with it. The colors of the walls reminded me of my kindergarten classes and lots of memories. The place is comfortable and it has been built around the tree. As you enter you could see the tree and there's a seating area which is more of an outdoor area and the indoors are beautifully decorated. We had ordered from Guppy Set lunches where you can order from 1 main course, 1 soup, 1 sushi rolls, either rice or noodles and 1 dessert. So we had opted for - - Miso soup and Mushroom suimono( soup) - my personal favourite was the mushroom suimono.

I preferred it more than the veg one. - udon noodles with mushroom - Usually, I don't like udon noodles sauce taste but here I had finished the udon noodles. It was good. - Garlic fried rice- I enjoyed it a lot. - petit flour - Mini desserts from chef's selection which had mini red velvet, chocolate cake, matcha and fruit - chocolate ice cream was refreshing and didn't have much sweet which was the best part.

Lovely food and good service, but the two desserts we wanted (blueberry pancakes and mango tart) they didn’t have which was a shame.

Amazing sushi. Amongst the best I've ever had it Delhi. And I'm really fussy about the authenticity of sushi. This is it!

Guppy is good restaurant, the decor is well thought out. The menu is interesting but the portions, for some dishes, are really small. Given the prices, one would expect generous portions.

Guppy has always been top of my list for Japanese food in Delhi. They are bit pricey but always worth it. I absolutely loved the Cha Su Pork Ramen bowl. The 72 hour simmered stock has much flavor, you can taste the love and thought put into it. We also ordered the Aburi salmon belly and prawn tempura sushi and the chicken nanban. The chicken was cooked perfectly not too dry, and tangy sauce was a nice addition. The sushi was great too, although I would order either prawn or salmon individually rather than both together. Overall a great experience at Guppy, I would go back again. It was my birthday that day and the staff surprised me with a cake and sang for me, which made me feel special.

Not worth the hype!
The ambience is very cutesy and insta-worthy but the food doesn't live up to its reputation.
We had spring rolls, ramen, miso soup and coffee out of which only the spring rolls were tasty. The miso soup had too much salt in it with nothing to balance it. However, the miso soup in ramen tasted fine. The noodles in my miso ramen soup were too short and the veggies were a bit under seasoned. Similarly, the cold coffee was more water less milk.
Overall, the food was in some way a bit short of being considered good.
Wouldn't recommend going here.

Ordered the Char Sui Ramen - The pork was perfectly cooked; it had the perfect balance of being soft/tender and crispy. I did like the different textures. The food packaging was lovely as well.

However, I found the soba noodles over-cooked rather than chewy/al dente. The soup broth was not pork-based but miso-based; neither was the egg soy-cured. The sweet corn was unnecessary. Most importantly, this was not worth the price as the portion size was inadequate. I've had better bowls of Japanese Ramen in the country for less the price. Overall, mediocre.

Too much hype. Yet to find a good bowl of JR in Delhi.

I came here for a Sunday brunch with my friends (pre-corona times) and absolutely loved it! The food was great albeit a bit late with the delivery of new dishes to the table, the range of cocktails was wide and tried 2-3 of them and loved them! All in all it was a good experience considering live music and lots of sea food. Will definitely recommend to other people.

I recently had the tuna nigri and scallops nigri delivered to my place. The sushi was still fresh and on a container of course ice. This was probably the best tuna I have had since I was last in Japan.
Guppy hit just the right spot when we were craving some Ramen and Sushi!

We enjoyed the Black Rice California and Mango Avocado Cream cheese rolls very much and devoured the Ramens- 5Mushroom and Chicken Poiten.

It's always a pleasure to eat from Guppy, and the delivery experience is no different.

My hunt for good Japanese food led me to this gem of a place. For me ambiance with food plays a major role and this place had everything good to offer.
Pale teal colour scheme, graffiti, illuminating lights the place had all the goodness to lift your mood and make you happy from within.
The crowd was sophisticated and the staff is very courteous.
I tried their soft shell crab sushi which was amazing.
I am a fan of sushi and this dish took my love to next level.
Their kimchi and hot tofu nabe is extremely good aswell.
The place is a stealer with a lot of good options to offer.
You should definitely visit this one.

great food. But the only reason I am giving the worst possible rating is for their policy towards kids. They do not allow kids under 10 in the main dining area for dinner. When asked, I was told that kids create a ruckus and spoils the dining experience of others. But strangely this policy is not applicable during lunch as according to them lunch time is not busy. Their other reason for the policy is because others are doing it., which is a great way of shedding responsibility and accountability, particularly in India!. I have been to this place numerous time and adults have been equally loud and boisterous if not more than any kid I have seen. Spoils the whole idea of "family" experience. Whatever warped idea of "dining experience" they are offering, "aping" some concept, or "pandering" to the whims and fancies of some "clientele" they wish to attract, they certainly aren't going to find a patron in me anymore. And I encourage others to not condone such policies, be it anywhere.

Beautiful place! Lovely interiors and the food is yum! Tried the Guppy set lunch, totally value for money and very healthy and tasty too

My first visit to this place has been outstanding. The ambience was stunning, it had very light hearted yet impactful feeling to it. The service was not too prompt but the waiters were mannerly and very well spoken. Having a long wait time to get your dishes is no problem here, you can sit and chat or get creative with origami that they provide.
We tried their black rice California sushi, it was truly delightful. Their 5 Mushroom ramen was great, the broth was rich and had buttery texture. Everything in this bowl blended very well together. The Matcha pudding was the highlight for the day. It was absolutely blissful. The pairing with toffee sauce is to be complimented! In desserts we also tried Tokyo honey toast which was really good too. Although it seems the toppings are random, they go quite well together. For drinks we had their guppy green ice tea, which was a combination of matcha and lemon. It was definitely very refreshing and new for us, liked it a lot.
Will definitely visit this place again. ❤️

A beautiful place located in the heart of Lodhi Colony. It’s the perfect place to have a cozy and hearty meal with your loved ones. The staff caters well to each one of its guests. The seafood salad and the chicken started both tasted delicious. The hazelnut cold coffee was thick and yummy. I would definitely give this place another visit.

Tasted one of the best set menu lunch at Guppy Lodhi Colony , the experience was amazing. Started with sushi of the day and tenderloin steak well cooked red meat . Ordered the jumbo prawn with sticky rice it had all the flavours and was a delight to eat.

Later we got noodles and teriyaki chicken which was tender juicy dish and tasted amazing with the noodles.
The best part of the place was it’s peace and vibe as it was quiet , and at last we ordered the dessert which was chocolate ice cream and petit four having small portions of - red velvet , rum cake , chocolate cake and sliced apples.
I had an amazing experience at Guppy and surely I would love to visit it again .

Visited Guppy recently and tried that mind-blowing winter menu. So many fun and different things we had in one go and we can't stop raving about it. The went in the afternoon so we didn't just enjoy the food but also their fancy cocktails and quirky and colourful decor.
We started off with drinking Vodka Blossom, which had the goodness of beetroot, strawberries, orange, and lime. We then had Gintack, which was on the sweeter side. Our favourite from the lot was Fuji lavs that had brandy, rosemary, Cointreau, fresh orange and lime juice.
For appetisers, we had the mantaiko cheese potato, so cheesy and so amazing. Our personal favourite was salt and pepper calamari. The garlic mayo with this fried calamari went so well with each other.
We'd never heard of bacon and sushi and so, we tried bacon and cream cheese sushi for the first time. Bacon lovers, do give this one a shot. The Wok-fried shell crab was a delight for us lazy folks who think that breaking crab shell is a task. Served with seasonal greens and lime, this dish was truly flavoursome. Apart from these, the soft shell crab sushi, curry udon noodles, baked avocado grilled artichoke, and tomato were nice too. The Scottish salmon steak stood out a lot for us. Nicely grilled, the soy lemon butter tasted truly divine with it.
We also tried their two hotpots, the black chicken nabe hotpot (the chicken was specially sourced from Madhya Pradesh) and the Kimchi and hot tofu nabe. hotpot. We had an amazing time over there. Definitely going to go there to try their regular menu as well.
For more such reviews, follow us on Instagram and Facebook: twohangrywomen

One of the best and the most delicious Oriental set lunch menu in town visit Guppy in Lodhi Colony , With a wide selection to please the palate of both vegetarians and non-vegetarians, there are lunch sets like the Teriyaki glazed artichoke and tofu, stir fried vegetables, grilled tomato and scamorza, teriyaki chicken, spicy tenderloin and the grilled jumbo prawn. The set lunch menu comes with a soup, salad, sushi, choice main course, rice or noodles, petit fours and green tea. In every bite, your taste buds will be awakened by the spicy, the tangy and the exotic!
I had a good time there and would recommend all the Japanese lovers to visit

The brunch experience was just amazing. Good variety of food even for vegetarians. Cocktails were very nice. But the best part was the hospitality and the service. Will genuinely recommend this place.

Guppy is a name that needs no introduction. I’ve been here many times, sometimes for a nightcap or for a quick bite. But this was my first time heading here for a proper meal. The interiors are psychedelic and you almost feel like as if you’re in an anime fantasy. I went crazy clicking pics for my insta and I can guarantee, so will you. The staff is polite and hospitable. When it came to ordering, I was taken aback by their huge menu. So I settled for their set lunch. There were two of us and the lunch had five courses, that too at a great price! We stared off with some Green Salad in Wafu Dressing, it was fresh and pretty tasty. This was accompanied by soup - I had miso and my friend had Mushroom Suimono. They were mellow and perfect for winter. Then came the part we were eagerly waiting for - Sushi! I had spicy tuna and my friend, Japanese vegetables. They were freshly made and rolled to perfection. I can tell you, this is probably the only place you can find the most amazing and fresh sushi in all of delhi! I loved my tuna! For mains, we settled for the grilled chicken in teriyaki sauce. This was a tad bit too sweet but hey, that’s how it’s supposed to be I guess. It was grilled well, and the portion size was pretty big, as you can see in pictures. My friend had tofu steak. Now tofu is tricky. If overcooked, it tastes awful. But Guppy got it right. I am not fond of tofu but I liked it. The greens served alongside were also drizzled with some sauce and they tasted just as good. Finally came the desserts. These adorable four mini bite sized offerings of fruit, cake and chocolate and one more thing that I forgot. There was also a scoop of chocolate ice cream that we asked for. How I wish they were bigger, as they were so yum! But then the portions are just right for one. And for the price you pay for this five course meal, it is a steal. We spent a good 2 hours eating and chatting and clicking pictures. It was happy afternoon and we will be back soon! And oh, the set lunch is not there on Sundays. But it’s there on Saturdays and all weekdays. How cool is that!

Japanese food at its best, service was really quick, started with miso and mushrooms soup along with Japanese green salad, the dressing of salad were superb...both the soups were served piping hot and we're flavourful. Vegetable and non veg both sushi rolls were soft fresh and simply got melted in the mouth. I would love to rate it 5/5 for food, ambience and great service

Located very nicely in Lodhi Colony this is a one of the hidden gems as far as Japanese food is concerned. There was a warm welcome at the entrance followed by courteous service. We started with a very nice Garden Green Salad with Japanese vinaigrette the lettuce were fresh and crisp and the dressing was nice and tangy. Then came the next course which was soup it was a mushroom soup and a miso soup both were very nice but I personally enjoyed the mushroom one more. Then we had the mains which was grilled jumbo prawns with butter garlic sauce and very nice chicken teriyaki. Both the dishes were par excellent. Then we had udon noodles with vegetables and garlic fried rice. Both very nice. In the deserts had Petit fours which was also very good. I would like to give them 5 out of 5 on all the parameters.

Dish- Raindrop Dessert (Only place in India serving this)
It is a jelly like dessert made with water seaweed gel and it looks just like a giant raindrop. The dish is served with finely grinded roasted soyabean and brown sugar syrup. Since the dessert is almost tasteless, so the brown sugar syrup gives a rich sweet taste to this dessert.

A must must try dish.
Rating- 5/5

Follow Foodies Never On Diet on Zomato and Instagram for more such amazing reviews

In this blog post, I cover the all-new winter menu at Guppy, the oldest and the most reliable contemporary Japanese bar and kitchen in Delhi serving authentic, healthy Japanese food.

What's the first outlet that comes to your mind when you think of Sushi, Sashimi, or Ramen? If you answered Guppy, chances are that your guess is as good as mine!

Up until a few years ago, many believed that Japanese cuisine was all about raw seafood. Guppy broke this stereotype by introducing a range of delicious vegetarian food with an emphasis on freshness and quality ingredients.

By focusing on veggie delights like the rock corn tempura or the chili lime dressed agedashi tofu, Guppy has very well understood the pulse of its customers!

Guppy is the place where you can enjoy authentic Japanese food and drinks. I love the ambiance with beautiful decor and graffiti walls. This winters, they have special drinks and food which was really amazing and delicious.
I recommend you to try out these :
Mulled Wine, Gintack, Whiskey toddy
Bacon and Cream Cheese Sushi Rolls, Fried Crabs, Salt pepper Calamari, Mushi Dori, Nabe hotpots.
Do visit this place and enjoy your food with amazing ambience and you can click out great pics for Insta stories 🙂.

The manager doesn’t care to change the food if it’s bad. He will not even remove it from the bill. Horrible experience. And he will talk to you in the worst way possible.

The ramen was served cold. Attendant forgot to bring our order from the kitchen and when we reminded her it was served cold. Honey comb icecream was too hard. Couldn't take a bit. Even Spicy salmon sushi wasn't upto the mark but atleast it was better than the rest. Totally disappointed and didn't expect this standard and taste from Guppy. Will think twice before going there again or maybe I won't visit again. Not even worth a single penny I paid.

Many restaurants have 10/10 food or drinks. Few restaurants have 10/10 food and drinks.
Very few restaurants have 10/10 food and drinks, and exceptional service.

Guppy has the trifecta.
Plus, Sunday brunch is one of the best in town.

Great vegetarian selection - We had the Mushroom Toban Yaki, Tofu Vegetable Curry Rice and Asparagus Tempura Roll, all excellent! We will be back for the Red Velvet Cake :)

So it was my first time trying Japanese Cuisine. First of all, this place has great ambiance and soothing music. Their staff is highly professional and very prompt. We started by ordering soft shell crab sushi and baked avocado which i absolutely loved. Then we order ordered black chicken nabe which was very rare. In drinks, we had cocktails and moctails, both of them tasted great. Don't hesitate in trying Japanese Cuisine, you're missing out on delicious delicacies.

UNSAFE. Dark alley, poor security. We stepped out from the restaurant in a group of 7 people at 9:30pm on a Sunday, and thieves on a bike snatched our cellphone. Right from under the nose of their security guard just at the entrance of the restaurant! NOT RECOMMENDED.

A Modern Japanese restaurant with pastry coloured interiors, with a few Japanese souvenirs hanging around.....smallish space....waitresses and waiters running all around and a lady karaoke singer singing all kinds of American and British popular music.....definitely, not the kind of atmosphere I would have would expect at a Japanese restaurant.....I have lived in Japan....and my experience there was a bit different.....but then this is in Delhi...and a restaurant definitely has the prerogative to try giving it a different feel...

The food and beverage experience can be mixed between excellent dishes to average dishes.....but on the whole a very satisfactory experience with the Sunday Brunch.....it is worth the money and worth the experience......even though with a very limited menu...

The constantly running endless appetizers are really good.....almost all of them....maybe I did not fancy the baos and the veg tempuras as much as the rest......the mains were a bit disappointing in comparison....but the desserts were a perfect ending....especially the green tea ice cream and the chocolate fondant......
Not the best Whiskey Sour I have had.....the Gin with Wasabi cocktail was definitely worth every sip......

I feel it definitely can do much better with a revamp of the interiors...that looks a bit worn out and unkempt....
The service is very efficient and polite....yet needed frequent reminding.....

We had ordered the pork loin - nvr had I evr had such delicious ones, they wer crisp and perfect, had a bit of a tangy taste to it, fulfilling. Also had bowls - organic black rice+prawn crackers (my fav)+chicken cooked in wasabi (which just gives u the kick - the best part). The presentation was really well done. Ambience is the best part abt it - 5/5.. Service iz fast -4.5/5.. Food quality and taste -5/5..

So we opted for the set lunch menu at Guppy today.

First came the salad, which tasted fresh and crunchy. Next was the soup, I liked the mushroom suimono soup but not the miso soup much.

Then came the sushi 🍣. The crab roll was nicer and thought California Sushi had more than required cream or Mayo in it.

In main course we had Chicken Terriyaki and Sea bass fish in Lemon Butter Sauce. I loved the presentation of fish and chicken tasted nice as it well with orange Terriyaki dressing.

Desert platter was disappointing though. And yes the meal was good value for money especially after using Gourmet Passport, but I didn't feel the food was that great as my expectations

My aunt's amazing feedback really urged me to visit this place. So I planned a weekend lunch here with my friends. And safe to say, I loved this place to bits.
The colourful and quirky interiors leaves you gawking at them. The service was heartwarming.
We tried the 5-course set lunch menu wherein we had a main dish, accompanied with sticky rice/fried rice/udon noodles, sushi rolls, soup of choice and dessert.
I opted for Grilled Tofu Steak with Asparagus along with garlic fried rice. It was heavenly.
Also, the vegetable sushi roll was good.
The soup was little bland for my taste.
And finally, I opted for Chef's selection of mini desserts. The presentation of it was good.
The experience overall was fantastic.

I wanted to try Guppy from so long and finally got to try this place out. I really liked the concept of their Set Lunches. Cost effective and tummy filling as well. Opted for Stir Fried Vegetables and first thing which came on my table was salad. Although I'm not a salad person but Guppy made me love their Green Salad. Hey, not to forget their delicious Mushroom Suimono Soup. Just impeccable it was. I had it with their Japanese Vegetable Sushi Roll which created such a crazy good combo. You should try it if you haven't. I chose Udon with Mushroom which were great but I also had a bite from my Partner's plate which was Garlic Fried Rice. Imagine, sticky fried rice in Garlic flavor. It was just Bomb. Last but not the least, ended our Lunch with Petit Four dessert platter which was delicious and awesome. Loved the meal, would highly recommend everyone to try it out :D

Recently visited this cute colorful place. Loved the vibes of place and their unique concept of "Wave to order". Ambiance was beautiful with colorful benches & chairs. Staffs were also very humble & well-mannered.

Coming to food, we tried their Miso & Mushroom Suimono Soup in out of which I liked Mushroom one the most! That wasn't much spicy in taste. Their Green Salad is a must try which had seasonal greens with japanese vinaigrette.
I just fell for their Japanese Vegetable Sushi Rolls. We also tried Grilled Tofu steak with Asparagus & Stir fried Vegetables.
Last but not the least - desserts, we chose Petit Four as it sound quite unique. It came up as a platter containing four different desserts & it wasn't bad though. Well, this place is quite costly but had a great time here with loads of cool photos:D

The Salmon Sushi Which I had is one of the best sushi I have eaten until now.. Kale and Water chestnut pot stickers were an ok affair but healthy but beware they have a warm skin but the inside filling is cold. The 2 way grilled chicken is awesome in every way and they serve it on such an awesome delicious bed of vegetables..would love to go here once again

Guppy

I had their udon and mushroom noodles. The size was good for one person with a good amount of mushroom. The quality of the ingredients was superb and the whole dish was fabulous.
The last thing i had was their steamed fish. Two fish fillets were healthily presented on the plate with a little salad dressing. The fillets were perfectly steamed to bring out the flavours.
A great meal which i thoroughly enjoyed.

This place has decent interiors and excellent food quality. But to get the food on the table you will have to wait a little longer but the food is worth waiting.

Tried mushroom udon noodles. They were prepared will all the ingredients required and none of the ingredients were over powering.

Mushroom soup was light and the quality and type of mushroom they used was good. It had a different taste and was a healthy treat.
The menu offers fantastic variety of sea food and delicious grubs and noshes. I was bowled by their tasty noodles, if you think chowmien is good than you must try the udon noodles, the chowmien is nothing on the tasty chicken udon noodles. I also tried their yummy sticky rice with teriyaki chicken. It' was so steaming hot and delicious with flavours of chilli and ginger. In desserts go for the vanilla ice cream, it's mixed with cream cheese and gives a nice touch to the overall ice-cream. The service is amazing and the servers are awesomse. In drinks my favourite is passionfruit margarita, which was just a mean spectacular drink

This beautiful quirky place in the posh Lodhi colony is named after a Japanese fish and the place specialises in Japanese Cuisine with ample touches of pan-asian. We tried the set lunch menu that gives you the hang of entire menu and let's you try many dishes- small portions albeit so you get to experience a diversity. Let me just say their sushi is excellent and you would simply love mushroom noodles that are cooked in an excellent fashion. The grilled fish is so scrumptious that it won't last more than a minute. I think it was so refreshing and exalted that many places can only hope to compare with their fish delicacies. The beauty of the small portions that it lets you try a lot without compromising on your appetite. In desserts a platter is fixed that will give you mini options to try and you can taste a bit of everything. It's a good idea as you don't load up on calories and yet get a nice experience of the sweet rush. Guppy is a bit extravagant but completely worth to go for a nice meal.

Their concept of serving small portions to each member was really good. We don't have to share form the same plates which becomes problematic sometimes. Their food quality and taste was amazing. Soup was really healthy and thick. Salad was really creative. Everything was perfect just it was too crowded and we had to wait for 10 mins for the table.

Perfect place for a romatic date. Yummy Japanese food, really enjoyed the pork belly and mushroom tobanyaki ❤️

I was very excited to visit guppy and had a really good time. Wednesday night, they have live music and the singer is really good. Coming to the food, found it little over priced but was worth the experience and taste. While waiting for the bill we saw a mouse running in the false ceiling and informed the staff about the same. On our way back home I checked my bill and found I was charged extra for a coke can. I called the restaurant about the same and the man who took the call acknowledged. The manager was not available that time and I had requested for a call back which I never got. I called the restaurant again next day and I was asked to share the bill on what’s app.The only reply I got on what’s app was that you can adjust it next time even when I told them I don’t stay in Delhi.Being in the hospitality industry the least they could do was call back and apologise for the mistake. I didn’t expect such behaviour from the olive group. It’s not a matter of 150 rs but principles. Thanks guppy for the experience. Didn’t expect this from AD Singh hospitality.

Recently i visit japanese restaurant where you can tried even vegetarian and vegan food also instead of seafood. It had been a while that I've wanted to try Guppy. Finally, on a lazy weekend, while the ladies were away, found an opportunity.

With pastel but slightly brighter colors all around, Guppy is tastefully done up. The courteous Staff seemed mostly from north eastern part of the country.

We ordered a sushi- California roll in black rice, interesting drinks and ramen- mushroom for me and chicken, dry ramen for my friend. The food ticked all the boxes, so much so that I can easily repeat the dishes. Finally, in dessert, we went for the well textured red velvet pastry and a nice dark chocolate ice cream.

All said, an experience worth the visit despite it not among your cheaper oriental options.

Highly recommended.

So definitely dont go here for the service. I think their way of handling customers is off and not particularly friendly. Rohit was a fine server, but Deepanshu could have been a better manager. Overall i would pass and not recommend. Nothing against the restaurant, but not a good dining experience for sure.

Food was high on sugar and a bit disappointing to be honest. Their food photography on Zomato is on point though. The actual food served is not like the photos for sure!

Honestly the only good thing there is pork belly!
Food was pretty ordinary. Unnecessarily saucy and for some reason mayonnaise as a topping.

Beautiful place with super cute interiors. We made a reservation in advance and got a very cute corner. Food tastes really well and the vegetarian options are also crafted nicely. Highly recommend it!!!!

Where to start!! As you enter this place you are blown away by the refreshing and beautiful ambience. Colorful yet simplistic. Coming to the food, we tried their set Lunch which had 5 Courses. Started off with a brilliant Miso Soup which was followed by a healthy green salad. The freshness of the food could simply be gauged just by looking at them. Wonderfully presented. Next up was Sushi . Very authentic and superb. Taking our love for Seafood to the next level was Jumbo prawns with rice. Brilliantly presented flavorful dish along with rice. Finished with Ice cream of the day and our meal was accompanied by a virgin mojito. One of the best Meals we've had in this city, we are definitely coming back for more

Prettiest, tastiest sushi ever, with great vegetarian options! The ambiance is adorable and quirky. The staff polite and friendly. If you're looking for authentic Japanese experience, this is the place to go to.

Out of the many Asian restaurants in the city, Guppy seems to have impressed me and my brother the most. An authentic Japanese restaurant by choice and a thoroughly beautiful restaurant by habit, Guppy is gorgeous with the interiors and great with its food.

For the first time ever, I had the 'Jumbo Prawns' and man was I impressed. What pleased me further was the fact that they save you from the tough part and slice out the meat out of the jumbo prawns for you.

The 'Pork Belly' served at Guppy is one of the best pork belly served in the city and I can vouch for it.

The 'Tempura Prawn Sushi' was a delight but what really had me was the fact that the 'Mango Avocado Sushi' was brilliantly prepared at the Sushi Bar.

The restaurant has an extensive menu and the staff's intervention is much needed. The Cocktails served at the venue are expensive but are a brilliant work in mixology.

The service at the restaurant was quicker than expected and the staff was very kind with their suggestions and service.

I will go with a complete 5 out 5 for Guppy's brilliant food, excellent service and the eye-catching ambience.

As soon as you enter this place located in main Lodhi market, you will come across vibrant colours on the walls and chairs. You look forward to the experience which is as bright and vibrant as the ambiance. They have outdoor and indoor seating both. You will find some of the best authentic Japanese disehs here.

The drinks are great here. We ordered the lemon ninja and Tokyo dawn cocktail. Also loved the current affairs mocktail. I loved the tuna and mango sushi. It was one of the best sushi i'v had. I also relished the kale and waterchestnut dimsums. They were one of a kind and i have never had something like this before. Other noteworthy things I had was the sakura wood smoked chicken wings, prepared in authentic Japanese way of slow cooking.
In the mains, two way grilled chicken was delicious to go perfectly with the udon noodles.

We opted for the light matcha pudding in dessert which has a light green tea flavor. Thoroughly enjoyed it. It was such a great experience and would definitely visit again.

Working with Japanes people over the last 6-7 years have made me quite interested in their lifestyle and food.
On hearing about this exclusive Japanese Fine Dine place in Delhi, i decided to check it out.
Situated in Lodhi Colony , as soon as you enter this place you will notice vibrant colors, pink yellow etc etc.
The place seems so cheerful and quirky at the first instance.
Definitely a place for all the photo enthusiasts out there.
Coming to the food, firstly we ordered their Cocktails : Lemon Ninja and Tokyo Dawn.
I would prefer Tokyo Dawn.
In starters, we tried their Kale and Waterchestnut Pot Stickers, Sakura Wood Smoked Chicken Wings and their salads : Beetroot and Asparagus Salad.
All the starters were delicious.
We also tried their Vegetable Sushi ( Avocado ) and i must say that was too amazing.
Didnt feel the lack of fish it it :P

In the mains , we ordered their Udon Noodles, Burnt Garlic Fried Rice, Two Way Grilled Chicken and Mushroom Toban-yaki.
The main course was the best thing on the table till the time we ordered their Matcha Pudding which just stole the show.
Overall, a place to enjoy fine Japanese cuisine with some amazing photos.
Also a special mention to the management and the servers. If you happen to be a fan of authentic Japanese cuisine then this could be a great place for you to try those Japanese authentic flavours.

Starting with the interiors, I really loved the color tones of the walls, small decorations, seating space and colorful cutlery items, the staff was really courteous and friendly and the service was very quick.

Since we were a large group, we had the opportunity to try different unique items here which i hope i don't make a mistake in misspelling them :D.

1. Black rice California roll: this was the veg varient of their all famous sushi, perfect flavor.

2.spicy salmon roll : the nonveg varient as the same suggests it was filled with salmon.

3. Tapamyaki vegetables : this was one of the best dishes that i had here, crunchy and fulfilling.

4. Grilled chicken breast : tender and soft, although the sauce was on the sweeter side.

5. Chicken wings : I didn't really like them, although the size portion was good.

6. Tokyo honey toast: Again one of my favorite from all the things we had :).

7. Udom noodles mushroom: these noodles were different then the ordinary noodles, much more thick and were mixed with a unique sauce, it was good.

8. Garlic fried rice : although i had low expectations from these, however they turned out to be absolutely fine :D.

In drinks we tried :
Alcoholic : lemon ninja and dasy i didn't try the alcohol drinks.

Non alcoholic :
Orange triangle : this was my favorite of the lot, it was really nice in taste and refreshing.

Current affair :this was entirely unique for me, had a texture of mint flavor.

Avalanch: another uniquely curated drink which was amazing.

Overall it was a very nice Japanese cuisine experience for someone like me who had never tried authentic Japanese flavours. Kudos to the staff for their great service :)

The veg dishes we tried
Black rice calfornia roll
crisp vegetable harumok
tempamyaki vegetable
garlic fried rice
udoon noodles mushroom
tokyo honey toast

non veg items
spicy salmon rolls
chicken wings
grilled chicken breast

The drinks were amazing with nice presentation n taste .. so i had 5 drinks
Orange triangle
Avalanch
Smoothie
Currnet affairs
Daisy
Lemon Ninja

Guppy - Charming Ambience, Flavorous Food....

I personally love Asian cuisine though I prefer the authentic version of it over the Indianized version. One place that turned out to be a thrilling dining experience was this Japanese speciality restaurant tucked neatly into the lane of Lodhi Colony's, Main Market.

Guppy is a fascinating dining experience and I cannot help but wonder why I had missed visiting this beautiful dine-in, authentic Japanese restaurant. The restaurant has been tasting success since very long and I, accompanied by my mum, finally tasted the goodness that the restaurant serves.

The restaurant's seating space can be divided into two indoor seating areas and a tiny patio which is a sight to behold. The restaurant is decorated colorfully with a fully functioning bar and a sushi bar adding to its charm. No doubt the place is expensive but you cannot compare the experience and taste the place offers to the money you spend.

As I consumed the ambience of the restaurant, I was given the menu to order food. The restaurant has quiet a few option and I settled for everything that the staff recommended.

Mango and Avocado Cream Cheese Sushi - I enjoy Sushi but very few places impress me with their Sushi. Guppy is one such place. I relished their Sushi and my Mom seems to have turned into a fan.

Guppy Signature Pork Belly - This is one of the best pork belly I have ever tasted. Period.

Sakura Wood Smoked Chicken Wings - The chicken wings from the starters section was deliciousness incarnate.

Karashi Casserole - An authentic Japanese stew with veggies and bacon wrapped chicken. The dish went perfectly with sticky rice. An absolute delight.

Grilled Jumbo Prawn - Thoughtfully served with the meat already removed from the prawn, the dish was fantastic both taste and presentation wise.

Tokyo Honey Toast - A very unique dessert with a bread acting as a bowl to matcha ice cream, wafers, hot chocolates and what not. Terrific.

The service at Guppy is top-notch with the helpful staff just a gesture away. We were helped throughout our meal and we could not have asked for more.

The presentation smokes of class and the restaurant matches the hype it carries

Food - 5/5

Ambience - 5/5

Presentation - 4.5/5

Service - 5/5

Value For Money - 4.5/5

Overall - 5/5

Cost For Two - 3000/-

Note : The drinks at Guppy are magical. You need to try their signature cocktails to get complete value for money.

PS : All my reviews are my personal opinions after taking into consideration my experience as well as the experience of those, be it family, friends or loved ones, that have visited the restaurant along with me. The review holds no bias towards the restaurant, irrespective of the fact that I was or was not called to taste the food at the restaurant. Happy Eating.

Ever since my first meal at Guppy about two years ago, I have raved about this place to anyone and everyone I’ve met. It has this dainty feel to it which I absolutely adore! Their ambience is colourful and adds a feel good factor to your dining experience. The best thing-they have live music every Thursday! Now to the food. I’ve had their Vegetable Harumaki as well as Mango and Avocado Cream Cheese sushi roll, both of which tasted excellent! A must try, in my opinion. I’ve also gone for their (veg, non alcoholic) Sunday Brunch, which is a fantastic way to spend your Sunday with a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options on their set menu! You can opt for alcoholic or non-alcoholic menu as well. The only reason I’m giving a 3 star rating to this otherwise fabulous place is because of the poor service that we were provided today. While I had never faced any issue with the service in the past, our experience today came quite as a shock. I had gone with a friend to enjoy a simple meal in the evening. We must’ve been seated for about 20 mins when I had to suddenly leave for 10 minutes to attend to an urgent work. During the time I was gone (i.e. those 10 minutes), my friend was asked to shift to an outside table thrice on the pretext that there are other guests waiting in line to be seated. In fact, my chair was also taken away and my friend had to ask for the chair to be retained at the table. At this point, we had been at the restaurant for about half an hour. It’s not like we had been hogging the table for two hours or so to have warranted such a behaviour. I fail to understand why we, as guests, were even asked to shift to an outside table to cater to the new guests arriving after us. While the manager did apologise to us for this later, this sort of a behaviour is totally unprofessional and uncalled for, and not at all expected from a place like Guppy. To clarify, the food is 4.5/5 but this kind of behaviour from the staff was not at all pleasant, and was downright rude. The only reason why I’m harping on this experience is to ensure that this is not repeated with any other guest in future!

Guppy is a very cute version of an authentic Japanese restaurant. The entrance itself is very inviting. The interiors of the place are very well done up and in other words very Instagram worthy.
The menu is very vast and the cocktails are super!
I ordered for :
Chilli vodka cocktail(Tatami) ( very different and nice)
Pomegranate vodka cocktail ( Daisy) very good
Beer cocktail with watermelon which was super fresh!
Asparagus tempura ( could have eaten several plates of that! Really well made)
Fried sake chicken
Garlic rice and mushrooms in coconut sauce and udon noodles with chicken.
All the food was amazing and the flavours were really good as well.

I recently went to Guppy and tried their Hanami menu and I must say that if you are a good lover then you have to go here! I started my meal with beetroot salad. The salad had feta cheese wrapped and some artichokes. Next I had the Mango sushi and oh my god it is my favourite sushi ever! I also tried the chicken wings that had a smoky flavour. For the main course I had prawns with sticky rice that was delish. In dessert, I called for a bread pudding that was a hollow bread listed with ice cream. The dessert was not what I had hoped for and was the least impressive. But the dishes mentioned above are a must have!

Guppy is a lovely place with beautiful and welcoming interiors. They serve a one of a kind scrumptious menu and the employee s are more than welcoming towards their guests. We went on a father's day weekend with my two babies and really had a good time..looking forward to visiting again soon.

Came here to celebrate a birthday and we booked a week in advance because we had heard so much about the place!

However the service left much to be desired. Despite booking much in advance and communicating that it was a special occasion, we were asked to move around because there was a shoot going on in the restaurant. I wish this had been communicated to us- we would have chosen another restaurant for the afternoon!

I love Japanese cuisine, and the sushi rolls we had were tasty, however the Chashu Ramen and the Chicken Udon were par average, as were the summer cocktails.

The food wasn’t fresh, the staff were distracted and the overall experience was lacking. Maybe we picked a bad day and everyone was distracted by the shoot, who knows.

Additionally, neither the place nor the service is fine dining, the prices however are. I’ve tried enough Japanese restaurants in Delhi and enough restaurants in Lodhi to understand competitive pricing, and this certainly wasn’t it.

Maybe I’ll just have to go elsewhere for my Japanese fix next time! Thank you.

Pathetic and unsatisfactory service!! Claims to the best Japanese restaurant, but really not even worth a try. Total waste of time.. sheer waste of money!

Went there for a Sunday brunch this weekend. Before I start about the food let me tell you about the decor..the decor is lovely with bright walls. It emits such a happy vibe. Would recommend making a reservation and going otherwise the waiting time could be a lot. There was live music which was amazing and so soothing. Tried a range of cold appetizers, sushi, baos, warm appetizers, cold soupx main course and dessert. Everything was beautifully prepared and all ingredients seem to be super fresh. A special mention to the dessert platter , chicken/veg bao, sushi and the cold soup. They were my favourite and just so delicious. Tad bit expensive to be honest but the experience makes it worth it. Great staff, great food, overall a wonderful experience!

Undoubtedly one of the best place for sushi in delhi.
The stand out dishes for me were the mango sushi, glazed pork belly, grilled sea bass and the tenderloin cooked on a hot stone.
A nice variety of cocktails.

Very average place. Food is okayish. Service is quite poor.
Had heard a lot about this place but didn't match the expectation. Service is something that they can improve on. They take alot of time to prepare the food (even a shake takes 15-20 mins, lol). Quantity is less too.
Mayura Gadkari
Oh what a lovely job you guys are doing!!! I enjoyed every bite of the amazingly prepared food (special mention for the mushroom soup, tuna sushi, pork in Donburi, all the desserts, well basically everything) and every moment in that cozy ambience. Kudos to the entire team! Kanpai!

Delicious Asian food and bright interiors makes Guppy a superb place to visit.
The interiors are lovely and colourful. The menu is Great and so is service.
I love their fresh sushi which is made on a live counter.
The salads are light and yummy too.
Prices are steep for sure.
Once in a while, it’s a good place to indulge.

My wife and I went to guppy after a very long time and the experience was great. We ordered edamame which is great as always. We then ordered a chicken dish which was served with sticks and they were the star of the show. It's was yum. Sushi is always great here. Unfortunately the drink was disappointing. I would suggest you stick to regular drinks here and not opt for the gin cocktails as they are not the best. All in all the experience was great and the live musician in the background adds a super classy touch.

Good food folded in Japanese Anime

Recently, I decided to choose this little delightful place in Lodhi Colony and I must say, the place has a character and life in Japanese style with exclusive Japanese cuisine. I wanted to choose vegetarian to see their taste, aromas and ordered the vegetarian meal combo. For drinks, we started off with an Apple and Kiwi Delight and Just Like That (guava with peace and cream). I must say drinks were fresh and delightful. The meal combo started off with some fresh prepared green salad and mushroom soup which was very light...Next we were offered their sushi rolls which were really yummy and best dish in the meal combo. Later, we were offered main course - exotic mushroom noodles and stir fried vegetables in soy sauce... I felt it was more spicy and too much soy sauce, not very delicious. Finally, my mood was amazingly good after tasting 4 mini bite-sized yummy desserts- chocolate mousse, banana cake, red velvet cake, and nuts with chocolate. Overall:
Food - 4 star; Service - Too slow ; Prices - Bit on the higher side, considering it is not a fine dining place.
I could give 4, however, service needs to be improved upon as well as hospitality can be better!

If you love Japanese, worth visiting for drinks, sushi rolls, some Japanese exotics and desserts.

We sauntered into this delightful little place in Lodhi Colony one summer afternoon. Decorated in the typical Japanese Anime style, this place has character and quirkiness in plenty.

They serve exclusively Japanese cuisine. Since this was our first time, we decided to try the vegetarian meal combo.

For drinks, we started off with an Apple and Kiwi Delight and Just Like That which was a peachy drink. Both looked really fresh and were delightful.

We split the meal between two people because it was rather filling for one person.
They started us off with some fresh, delicious green salad, which was very refreshing. Then came the mushroom soup which was very light but tasty with a rather strong flavour.
Next we tried their sushi rolls which were the highlight of the meal. Very delicious!

This was followed by the main course-vegetables in a soy sauce and vegetable mushroom noodles. They were ok.

Finally the dessert arrived and it was the best part of the meal. Four small bite-sized yummy desserts-red velvet cake, chocolate mousse, banana cake and nuts with chocolate-all were simply outstanding.

The service was very slow and the prices are on the higher side, considering that this isn't exactly fine dining. This was the only thing we were unhappy about. This place is worth a visit at least once and perhaps more times for drinks, sushi rolls and desserts.

Inspired from the famous Japanese anime cartoon and cherry blossom trees, Guppy makes for a contemporary Japanese restaurant. Unlikes most fine dining Japanese restaurants, Guppy’s cafe like ambience makes it a great place to go for just drinks & starters.

Two of us went for dinner here. We ordered the pork belly small plate, chilli garlic edamame, Non-veg Sushi platter (chef’s Selections) and a bottle of Sake.

Everything was delicious! A generous portion of the pork belly starter, and an assortment of 8 sushi rolls & 7 nigiris handpicked by the chef! A definite recommendation for Japanese food! I’ll be going back for more, the Ramens are still pending!

Guppy is supposed to be THE place for fun contemporary Japanese dining. Frankly, I had been waiting anxiously to go here but my experience was more than disappointing. The ramen was below average, the starters had such low quantity and were just okay, nothing out of the ordinary. Maybe 5 years ago, their level of expertise was enough but today, when there is high quality Japanese food available in Delhi, they need to buck up. The service did not help either. Our server was inexperienced. All in all, this is not a place I would go back to, or recommend.
