Review Machan - New Delhi

Mahitha
had the most delightful dining experience at this restaurant! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm and friendly smiles. The atmosphere was inviting and cozy, making it the perfect place for a meal with friends or a special date night. The menu offered a wide range of delicious options, and every dish we ordered was a culinary masterpiece. The flavors were exquisite, and the presentation was top-notch. It's clear that the chef takes great pride in their work, and it truly shows in every bite. I can't wait to return to this restaurant and explore more of their menu. If you're looking for an exceptional dining experience with outstanding food, service, and ambiance, I highly recommend giving this place a try. It's a hidden gem that deserves to be discovered and celebrated

The menu boasts a wide variety of dishes, each bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. I was particularly impressed by the freshness of the ingredients and the skillful presentation of each course. The service was impeccable, with the staff being attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. They made us feel truly valued as guests. Machan is not just a restaurant; it's a culinary journey that I highly recommend to anyone seeking a top-notch dining experience. I can't wait to return for another unforgettable meal!

Fine dining! good ambience, good food but the temperature was pretty cold, take a coverup if you are sensitive to cold. My favorite was the avocado salad. Need to try all their other veg salads, they all sound interesting. Good pav bhaji,, other breads and baingan Bartha was very tasty too. Breakfast Buffet: @7:45am it was so cold we all had to go get our jackets, I wish they keep a good temperature so it’s not too cold. The vada, ragi dosa and pancakes and every other thing we ordered was very delicate and tasty! There was barely any strawberry compote for the pan cake but what was there was very good for 2 bites. They were kind enough to make a simple porridge although it was not in their menu and also satisfy the sweet tooth craving for Indian desert during breakfast with rasamalai.

Machan has been one of my favorite destinations from the yesteryears. It was after a while that I got to go to this restaurant in Taj Mahal, Man Singh. The ambience of this place was great, as always. Staff was courteous, not a surprise at a Taj property. It was Sunday and we were told that we have to go by the set menu. The menu is elaborate, and lot of offerings. You really need to be prepared for a big meal, and to spend a lot of time. However I was disappointed today, and probably for the first time at a Taj restaurant, as the kitchen and wait staff faltered on maintaining the continuum between the courses. It was all good till the appetizers, but then the things started slipping through the cracks! Everything after that came in so delayed, and we just lost the charm of the lunch. Still sure that it was possibly an exception. I will surely go one more time to see if that’s true. Still giving 5-star, as benefit of doubt.

Good food, great place! Can improve on the services though, had to wait 25mins for the naan :( All in all, a must visit. A solid 4.5 out of 5 from my end :)

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Machan hotel, and I must say, the food experience was nothing short of fantastic. From the moment I walked into the restaurant, I was struck by the inviting ambiance. The decor exuded a warm and rustic charm that immediately put me at ease. But it was the food that truly stole the show. The menu at Machan offers a delightful array of culinary delights that cater to a variety of tastes. Whether you're a fan of traditional dishes or looking for something more innovative, Machan has it all. Each dish was expertly prepared, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. The staff at Machan deserves special mention for their exceptional service. They were attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to make sure that every aspect of my dining experience was perfect. Their recommendations were spot on, and they made me feel like a valued guest throughout my meal. In conclusion, if you're a food enthusiast, Machan is a must-visit. The combination of fantastic food, attentive staff, and a charming ambiance creates an unforgettable dining experience that will leave you craving for more. I can't wait to return and savor more of their culinary delights.

Heard all the hype about the place then decided to take my family there for a dinner. Had to wait a little for the table without the reservation. The restaurant is small and crowded most of the times. The interior is okay. The food was good, wouldn't say great, liked the food better at Capital Kitchen, Taj Palace. However, I would say, I didn't expect this type of service in an expensive restaurant like this. The service was bad, had to even ask to refill the water every time, maybe because of the crowd, no one was paying much attention. No a great experience as per the price tag that it comes with.

Tried platters of deserts and a light snack . Chocolate pastries turned out to be the best . Tasted few French snacks overloaded with French cheese . Was delighted after having this tasty supper . Courteous staff and welcoming environment were the major attractions .The French salad was a great hit

Great place with an amazing ambiance! Loved the presentation of food. The red velvet cake was delicious!👌🏻

My review is purely based on the new temporary location of Machan as it has moved to a smaller space till May/June 2020, due to this the menu has been cut down to the basics which limits your options.<br/><br/>Highlight do the dinner was Dal Machan which beats Dal Bukhara by a large margin, it's excellent. We did order Mutton which seemed a bit bland.<br/><br/>I am looking forward to visiting Machan again post it's back to it original glory.

I ordered<br/>Dal makhni and Paneer papad sabzi with garlic naan and aloo kulcha naan<br/>Mocktails over here were damn awesome<br/>Aam panna and Virgin classic mojito<br/><br/>And as it was bday they gave us lemon cheesecake complimentary as their sweet gesture<br/>Staff and ambience was really awesome<br/>And rn renovation is going so there's gonna be a new machan starting from jan2020

Marvelous spot love .....the food...nice designs what not. I cherished my experience of sustenance from this place. We had Murgh Malai Tikka and Kali Mirch ka Chicken Tikka which were both fair. The Banofee Pie then again was not so much Banofee Pie. It was Apple Pie with a little bananas. Big let down.
Lata Surana
Must have pasta when at Machan. Perfectly boiled penne pasta, spicy, saucy, fragrance of fresh parsle and parmesan cheese makes it even more mouthwatering.

This eatery at The Taj Mahal Hotel is extraordinary spot for lunch and dinner. The assortment of nourishment is awesome and it contains a differed cuisines.I was intrigued by the obliging staff with brief administration, sustenance introduction and taste. The sustenance by and large was flavorful . It was a phenomenal encounter and would need to visit again soon.

The five star property with five star services lacks in customer service while serving to the customers .... food is good ... nothing exceptional about the restaurant and its service but the coffee with big windows n quiet ambience is worth visiting

It just can't get better than this.. Keeping up the the name.. With its best brunch one could get in Delhi. The Tajness all over..<br/>On a quite Sunday afternoon, I planned to visit this legendary Taj Mahal hotel in Delhi, for a perfect brunch with my besties. I chose Machan which is premium multi cuisine restaurant as I know when at Taj things don't go wrong.<br/>Machan serves multi cuisine lavish wide spread brunch every Sunday.<br/>And it's just perfect when one needs a quite, happening place and rubbing shoulders with the who's who of Delhi Circuit.<br/>The ambiance is outstanding as it is based on a safari theme..<br/>The food is just too good, you just can't stop drooling over it.<br/>From the soups, salads, live counters for Lebanese, continental and live grill for some amazing prawns, chicken being prepared on the grill. We just had a great time. Stayed there for 4 hours and still wanted to have more bit my bad luck we were short on time as they wrapped up the brunch.<br/>As every thing was too delicious can't name. It. All but the best ones I loved was the clear soup prepared with chicken shrimps and cut pieces of prawns, the chicken shawarma, prawn dumplings. White sauce pasta, noodles with fish, churros which were specially made on order as they were done with the live session.<br/>It's an amazing place to have a chilled out calm sunday after none with friends and family.<br/><br/>Thank me later once you try it.<br/><br/>Happy eating 😊

This restaurant at The Taj Mahal Hotel is great place for lunch and dinner. One can opt for buffet or a la carte. The variety of food is very good and it contains a varied cuisines. The taste of the food is hoti the mark and will give you a great gastronomic experience. Being a restaurant at Taj it is needless to say that the ambiance of the place was really nice. The staff are very courteous and happily serve you with the best.

Food was good but breads were not very fresh. Great ambiance. Next morning breakfast spread was good for choice of delicacies and quality. Delighting staff irrespective to anything.

While the service is decent the selection of food is average compared with other hotel Sunday Brunches in Delhi. They also charge for extras which they do not inform you until you get the invoice.

Awesome - the complete review will follow soon<br/>Everything is great about this place.<br/><br/>Ambience is awesome <br/>Food is sumptuous <br/>Service is impeccable

We went after midnight for a couple of coffees and something to eat. The food was okay, nothing to write home about, though the place was abuzz with people. If you are a big group, chances are you'll be sitting quite far apart as there are no big tables available.<br/><br/>A big thumbs up to the music next door at Rick's. Also, the staff were quite accommodating.

Mexican cuisine in India is riddled with myths; not every dish is spicy and hot. They say in Mexico that the fieriness of the chillies in the dish depends on the temperament and mood of the chef.<br/><br/>The Mexican cuisine has handpicked dishes which can be described as authentic and full of flavours.<br/><br/>Chef Alondra Maldonado and Chef Marco Valdivia from Mexico, along with a team of culinary experts led by Executive Chef Arun Sundararaj, showcased the flavours of a cuisine which is as rich as its origin at Machan. The team curates an array of cuisines.

Very average. Seems to have lost its glory days. Went here for dinner last night with the family. The dahi ke kebabs were dry, we left majority of the portion. My parents ordered a sandwich which turned soggy by the time it reached the table. The chicken shawarma was rather bland and tasteless. Enjoyed the chicken tikka starter. This entire fare cost us about 8k, not worth it at all.

We went to this 'old is gold' restaurant for a birthday. The ambience is elegant but old. The staff was courteous but very slow. It seems they were overworked and too busy.<br/>Anyway, they started us off with a bread basket that was pretty blah. The bread was cold and had no taste whatsoever. <br/>For starters, we ordered tandoori gobi and broccoli. It was good but there was some strong flavour used in the sauce, which wasn't much appreciated.<br/>For the main course, we got paneer lababdar, Nizami Handi of mixed vegetables, Dal Machan, rice and assorted breads. The paneer was very ordinary and this too had a strong flavour which made it less appealing. The nizam handi curry sauce was excellent but there variety of vegetables used wasn't adequate. The dal was ok and the rice and naans were fine too.<br/>They brought us a brownie slice with a scoop of ice-cream for the birthday celebration, which was on-the-house. This was very sweet of them indeed. The brownie was awful, unfortunately.<br/>However, the slow service, the ordinary food and exorbitant prices were all off-putting. Considering our expectations from a five-star restaurant like Machan that has been around for ages, we were rather disappointed.

Did not have any Wow Factor. That's my review in one line. <br/>Featured in the Legendary Outlets Collection of Zomato, Machan has quite the hype to it. Nothing was disappointing per se, but it surely wasn't anything to blow my mind. And given the price you pay, you expect more. The staff is courteous and the seating is welcoming, brownie points for that. <br/>We had Murgh Malai Tikka and Kali Mirch ka Chicken Tikka which were both decent. The Banofee Pie on the other hand was not really Banofee Pie. It was Apple Pie with a little bananas. Very big let down.<br/><br/>All in all, the restaurant does have a premium feel to it, but food can be more indulging.

The services of Taj are always beyond expectation. We ordered pasta and one thai dish. The pasta was super delicious. Also their service was quick and we went off feeling happy and full.

The famed Taj pedigree was on display here. The ambience and service we're the standouts. The buffet, however, was a bit underwhelming.<br/>Coming to the appetizers, the options were limited with only 4 dishes available on the live grill. The salads and soups assortment was okay though.<br/>The main course also didn't have a standout dish. The dal was bland, the brinjal bharta was okayish and the chicken curry was also average. When you shell more than 2 grands on a buffet you expect a better buffet.<br/>The puck was soothened a bit by the dessert selection which was certainly the best out of all the courses.<br/>Might not visit again but it was a decent experience because of the service and the love with which Taj serves you!<br/><br/>Ambience-5/5<br/>Service-5/5, outstanding<br/>Taste-2/5<br/>Value for money-3/5

The Taj was present at #HTPalateFest2018 where I had their Hyderabad Biryanis, veg as well as non veg. Had high hopes but the dishes were not upto the mark. Better biryanis were available 20 feet away. Disappointed 😪

Terrible food! I went there for sunday brunch buffet on occasion of my anniversary. None of the food item tasted good except desserts. And the variety was too less to justify the price they were charging for it. Starters were too limited and even worse for vegetarians only. Had a disappointing experience with Taj!
Mayank Machan
Awsome food ......people eat vegetarian orde dal makhni yumm yumm and for non veg butter chicken fish tikka ❤️❤️ambience too good service okaish presentation of food mind blowing ❣️🎉 must visit <br/>Note-: Too expensive

Stopped by for coffee here..after attending a function on the terrace. The place was bustling..majorly with the after wedding/ function crowd. The tables weren't properly set..it was already 11.30 so the staff was quite done for the day maybe. Ordered for a black coffee and Parsi coffee (which wasn't available). Therefore I settled for a chamomile tea. Both were served within 5 minutes of placing the order with a complimentary set of cookies. The tea and coffee were usual. I expected the chamomile tea to be better. It was ordinary standards! Anyway this place is more for the ambience than coffee/ tea. The cookies were good.<br/>Would rate this place 5 for service, 4 for staff and 4 for ambience, 4 for beverages.

Came here for sometime with self. To think through while eating alone. <br/>Buffet was not exciting enough.<br/>Opted for a soup and non-veg club sandwich.<br/>Soup and Sandwich were both below my expectations from this place. <br/>Lamb Harira Soup has too little lamb and portion was small. Taste was nice and flavours were full. <br/>Gir club sandwich was assembled in a factory manner. Was filling but not something associates with Machan. Pork was good, egg was industrial and tasteless. Tomatoes were good, bread was just average. Toasting was just OK. <br/>Best part of meal was soup stick ;) <br/>

Was staying at this property so had  a chance to visit a few of the restaurants .Went for dinner at Machan ..... beautifully done up place with leather upholstered chairs and wooden louvered french windows....felt like having been transported to a posh game reserve in  ! !!.Coming to the food ,loved the chicken mulligatawny and the 1978 lababdar .Overall a nice experience.

Awesome place love .....the food...nice decorations and all...as I went there to attend birthday party.... I had a dinner there and the taste was awesome and price was very reasonable... They also arrange a birthday cake for us... The environment was very friendly inside.. we were twelve people and we enjoyed the dinner and we need to pay only 24000 rupees.... So I would like to recommend all to go there and enjoy the dinner with friends and family...

This place will take you in awe by its decor, its overwhelming to order food after you have looked around the hotel even a bit. Extremely rich and elegant with aroma that fills you up.<br/>But do try their pav bhaji, fish n chips, Chicken steak, but rajma-chawal not all that good! Enjoy your visit to the grandest Taj👌🏻

We went here for lunch and tried lunch buffet. Do make reservation in advance because it gets full even on weekdays during lunch.<br/><br/>Taj needs no introduction, the decor and ambience of the reception area is grand. Machan is trying to preserve its old charm, the view from the table beside window is awesome though we didnt get that.<br/><br/>Nothing to rave about buffet. <br/><br/>There was only one option is soup and even that wasnt good.<br/><br/>The salad section was good. There were very less option in Indian starters, only hara bhara kebab and chicken kebab, both were good though. We asked for grilled fish from live grill counter, that was also good.<br/><br/>The main meal was below average, nothing stood out. Desserts were fine, couple of them were really good: cream brulee and crumbled apple pie.<br/><br/>Hospitality was amazing, our server was also really attentive to our needs.<br/><br/>Overall, not worth the value and place is bit hyped, I can say that at least for buffet.<br/><br/>I want to rate 3.5 but since there is no option to do that, rating 3 stars.

Awesome food exceptional service loved the Sunday sparkling brunch !! However I felt dining alone can be a huge issue at times !! Found a hair in my salad did highlight the same to the server . The chef made an intervention and did apologise however I lost my appetite as I can consider hotel of such repute to match the expected hygiene standards !!! The selection of rose’ for the brunch was the highlight !!! I would love to visit this place however considering the experience I am still skeptical about it !!!! The restaurant wasn’t full and I could see the restaurant staff chit chatting while they should be paying attention to the customers !!!

I visited Machan to celebrate Birthday. We were a group of 5 and opted for the lunch buffet. It started with offering of breadsticks and butter by one of the waiters inside the restaurant. Post that we all went through the buffet offering which surprisingly for a vegetarian is not much to offer. However myself being a non veg person i did enjoy the food that was on offer. Be it fish, chicken roll or the biryani all was good. Deserts had only 1 vegetarian offering and rest all were non vegetarian. I myself was feeling bad about my vegetarian friends nevertheless it’s a good place to have lunch.

Late night hunger pangs led us to Machan. What's good is we got there before Rick's the pub closed which meant we found the place mostly to ourselves.<br/><br/>Food and service both lived up to the Taj name even though the hotel itself is obviously in the middle of some controversy. The Thai curry, fish and chips, grilled chicken breast were all appreciated. There is this lamb curry these guys ordered and quite enjoyed as well.<br/><br/>Vegetarian order considering I was the sole herbivore was palak paneer. Yup I know about the calcium and the iron, but I did feel like tasting it, and was delighted to have chosen the dish.<br/><br/>Desserts were chocolate cake with vanilla and a beautiful coffee.<br/><br/>Recommended.

Visited Taj for experiencing the Mexican food and since I am a avid lover of Mexican food (Since I don’t like Tax Mex) so for me going there and having an authentic Mexican food experience was very wonderful and to be mentioned here that I really like the staff over there .. worth a good experience ..

Machan has good food I was really like all food items sarvice also good there's a good atmosphere and staff also very sharp and quick and fast service

Mexico comes to Machan<br/>Our exposure to Mexican cuisine is limited and we are more exposed towards tex-mex. But here is a chance to relish the authentic cuisine of Mexico especially from nayarit region that has sea foods in abundance. Embassy of Mexico is celebrating 208th anniversary with Taj mahal Hotel. Chef Alondra along with executive chef arum sundaraj invites you to a culinary journey of Mexico. Festival starts today and will be continue till 22nd September. It is your chance to enjoy the Real favours of Mexico. My favorites were pork belly taco's, scallop aguachile ( made with water and chilli), and lamb in black mole.

Had my Saturday night dinner here. The ambience was great. Staff was well spoken and polite. Ordered pasta.. it was okayish/good 3.8/5<br/>Nice place

fabulous food every time one visits..try the dal machan, garlic naan, kaziranga rolls, murg lababdar, the famous dessert bulls eye or pasta and club sandwich..service is prompt
Akhil Kumar
The Soup was average and the experience was pathetic since their were loud verbal fights happening and the restaurant didn’t take any action.

Elegant ambiance classy look n crowd . It feels relaxing and soothing to sit here for lunch. It has very British and royal interiors. I like here to sit and absorb it's amazing feels. The food has a wide variety of buffet spread from veg to nonveg, from<br/>Sea food to curries to desserts and drinks. Heavy on pocket but otherwise a very nice place for luncheon.
Nipun Mohta
Good food, good ambience, good staff and great quantity. Out of all the items we had I loved their chicken lababdar '1978'. The staff was courteous but can be more attentive and quick.
Madhuukar
Horrible food and services. Never expected such from Taj Group. A very regular visitor to this place but never ever had such a horrible experience. Tatas & Taj Group need some serious introspection to find out reasons behind it.<br/><br/>Frankly speaking thinking that a Road side eatery will be much better then this 5 star premium eatery. 🙏
Vidhi
I had high expectations but was a tad disappointed. We had the burgers here and they were nothing worthy of a fine dining restaurant. The restaurant's ambience is decent, nothing extraordinary. Service was slow and food expensive, yet very average.

Machan is synonymous with our Sunday lunch rituals dating back to the early 90’s! Infact Taj Mansingh is often associated with Machan and not the other way round. They’ve managed to keep the menu the same so there’s a lot of nostalgic value eating the same Pav bhaji or the Kathi roll. However if I may add, the service has gone down the drain. I consider myself a Taj Baby- have one of their higher tiers of membership too so I feel equipped to say this that Machan service is way too poor for Taj standards. If it weren’t for Chef Bhattacharya, I wouldn’t even step foot inside Machan given my last work lunch experience there which turned out to be nightmare given their very rude lady manager’s service (can easily take names but don’t want to get personal) <br/><br/>Hope Taj Management reads this and improves the service standard. I love Taj Mansingh, you’ll always have my patronage.

Dad’s Birthday and we plan a visit to Machan for their Sunday Brunch. Nicely taken to our table. We opt for the Buffet waiting for somebody to come over and ask us for the starters or what we wanna drink, since we opted for the sparkling wine + buffet option. Ordered for some Bloody Mary and Vodka to start our Sunday afternoon. Went on to see the spread and was disappointed with the limited options that were there. For starters there was Salads, Dimsum, Live Grill and Chicken Tikka and one veg option. The live grill dished out some amazing fish, prawns and paneer. ( all from the same grill so finicky vegetarians will have an issue) . The prawns were really nice. Rest of the starters were just ok. We were half way thru having the starters with the drinks yet to arrive. (Need some major improvement here) Finally the drinks came in. Was pleasantly surprised to see the Chef roaming table to table making the guests comfortable and asking if they wanted something which was not there on the buffet spread. The food options were extremely limited specially for the vegetarians. What saved the day was the Chef who came as a saviour for my wife and mom who are vegetarians and got some Paneer, Dal Makhni and some home style chicken curry for me. Be prepared for limited options along with limited cuisine offerings. Though limited but each and every dish on the mains side was excellent. The mutton was to die for. The yellow dal tarka was just something I had not tasted before and was too good. Home style chicken curry also was just awesome. The paneer Chef got was unique with papad in it and had a lovely taste to it. The desserts were just ok. I just wish I had double the appetite to try more stuff. Kudos to the Chef, A- for good food, B- for making it a warm experience. <br/><br/>Suggestions: Please work on the starters and do add a few chinese options on the menu.

Machan has been everyone's old favourite. I visited after almost 3 years and was surprised to see the sheer apathy. The food was not befitting Taj and service was 'not interested'. Had Tuna melt and I can make it better at home. Ordered for mustard which arrived after I finished the food, which was 20 min..and. this is not Taj. Seems like they don't want to run it...would suggest letting NDMC give it off!
Tanishq Mehta
The food was really good. Quality was a 5/5 but the quantity was 3/5 and the problem was that there aren't much variation for anything in the menu, veg or non-veg. We were there to celebrate a birthday and received nothing 5 star worthy.
Red
I tried their Brunch Buffet and was a littttttle disappointed. Honestly their spread was not impressive and the food was ok. They had decent salad / healthy options but other than that everything was not upto their standard.  The hospitality was good and do try the dessert "bulls eye" a simple and tasty combination of brownie and vanilla ice cream.
Karnika
we opted for the Murgh Tikka Lababdar since 1978 and it was as authentic as it sounds. The gravy was flavourful with tender chunks of chicken chargrilled and cooked to perfection. Tasted best with an assortment of Indian breads we called for Pudina Paratha and Naan. Then came Kathi Kebab Kaziranga since 1978 (Chicken Kathi Rolls) which was also of some great taste and a meal in itself. Fish and Chips then followed which were hot crispy and fresh fillets. The fish was definitely not the usual basa so it was even better.
Nupur Singh (potpourribynupur)
A royal treat! As expected, my experience was nothing less than that of a true over-the-top fine dining. Needless to say, the food was lip smacking and the staff was very courteous.

A great place to have a peaceful conversation over food and drinks with your friends or family. At our most recent visit, we ordered Thai red curry, vegetarian burger, quinoa salad and keema pav. There was not much stress on the presentation of food but the taste was great as usual. It is to be chosen when you feel like having a quiet and a stressfree dinner.

Machan the multi cuisine restaurant in taj mansingh hotel. Offers a great variety of food to the guest, the authenticity of taste flavors is. Soo amazing. Loved to have lunch here
SM
Ambience is great with good views and restaurant is not crowded- so a great place to meet friends, chat and of course have lunch. We had lunch buffet as we were informed that for Saturday lunch we couldn’t order from the menu card (although later I saw some people ordering - which was very strange).<br/>Buffet spread(except for desserts) was confusing - it was a mix of many cuisines. Chaat for starters. Rest of the starters (like pao bhaji and fish fry) kept along with main food - which was again confusing. After finishing lunch we heard that some soft drinks were included in the buffet but the server never informed us about it.<br/>Dessert spread was awesome with at least 25-30 items both Indian and from other countries.<br/>Net-net good place to go and socialise with friends and family

Went there on a birthday and experienced a great culinary experience. Ordered a lot of food as I didnt had anything after breakfast. Starting with the food we ordered chilli cheese toast and fish&chips which were brilliant. After a lil break we ordered prawns, chicken tikka along with virgin mojitos. Prawns were sooo good. However the chicken tikkad was okay. In the main course we ordered Mirch ki murgh taari which was the only dish that could have been avoided along with garlic naans ( soft and crispy). Then came a dessert that I can never forget atleast in this life named Bulls Eye which was soo good that I have been tasting it my head ( you know what I mean) evryday for the last 5 days ( punjabis can do that). Overall a great experience. Service was fast and efficient. Gonna go again soon atleast for the Bulls Eye .

Very tasty indian food, hard to find the level of spices in food served at star hotels, which are generally bland for an avg. indian taste buds, but this place is one of the exceptions, Food was aromatic & flavorful with different spices. Mutton was very well done & biryani was awesome.

Located at heart of the city, in the vicinity of India gate,Taj is not just a name, a premium experience. I went there for dinner with family. And the sheer royalness could be felt from main entrance to the restaurant inside in every aspect. Not to go with the rustic name, this place offers an exquisite ambiance, with rich fine dining experience, ideal for get togethers with family. The staff is polite and friendly. The service was a bit slow, but the food is worth the wait. We ordered mughai starters and main course, which were adequate to satiate cravings for a group of 3-4.Would love to visit it again.

Visited for dinner sometime back and loved the whole 'Taj' experience, whether it be food, the wine, the ambience, or the portion sizes. <br/>Simply awesome!!!

I chose the buffet option for dinner which is true value for money. the ambience was good. the service was superb. the chef himself visited us and queried about the food.

Even 5 star is rating is less for this restaurant! Amazing menu collection, great taste ,staff is so friendly and it's right in heart of the city ..hence easily accessible. I ordered periyar club sandwich, coffee, french fried potatoes, open vegetable lasagne and parsi dairy kulfi.. Food was amazingly delicious.. Nice place to try..!!!

The Capital Kitchen, for a b'day celebration which was a mistake...I like the buffet at Machan, and especially the desserts and very special icecreams, which we always have several rounds of, served patiently. The cosy feel of the place and the interiors really add to the popularity quotient.

Today we were in the mood to treat ourselves to some 5 star experience and what better choice than an address 1, Mansingh. As you enter you start to realise that something is off. Either there is a deliberate attempt to preserve some age old Raj type ambience or someone is not getting approval to renovate this place. When you see the leather chair starting to shed its skin... anyway... coming to the food review. Declaration: we just ordered one dish, and this review is probably akin to - judging the book by its cover. So we ordered the classic Chicken Malai Tikka. <br/>—The presentation was good.<br/>—The chicken was hard and chewy, but strangely it was pinkish; so I don’t really know whether it was overcooked or curious case of rigor mortis<br/>—It was mildly spiced, maybe it’s designed to serve the palate of foreigners though the new crop of foreigners are actually more adventurous nowadays<br/>—Service was good<br/>—I should say the menu design was really cool rather new age but out of sync with the rather drab ambience<br/>—The theme is of hunter and his jungle, the tiger patterned carpeting is really smart<br/>—The table flowers were saade hue (murjaaye hue), inti English naa ho pa rahi<br/>—The complimentary snacks wee fried papad (fryams)<br/><br/>Next time I have the budget to dole out 1500/- for one dish, I will do a more informed review. This time I paid against my epicure points ;)

A lovely place to be. So this time for a birthday we decided to go for a family breakfast instead of the regular Brunch. And a wonderful change it was! The food was great but the courteous staff and the view even better!<br/>The spread was a nice selection, not as opulent as others to leave you confused, but generous enough. The eggs Benedict, the Keema Pie and Pork Sausages were amazing. And it might sound strange but they had the best dates(the fruit) I've ever had! The cheese board however, was not that amazing-not the best baby Mozzarellas or Ricotta that I've had. That being said, a 'Perfect Sunday' thank you to the Staff.<br/>P.S.:Try the Grapefruit juice that the staff gets you upon request.

Amazing ambience and an even better food, Machan is the place to be. Eating the ever amazing Thai curries and finishing the meal with an all time favourite- bullseye, is just part of the experience.

The ✨pancakes✨ are a must try and they will melt in your mouth like warm chocolates.<br/>The ✨dark chocolate✨ on the top of the pancake will make you drool for sure.<br/><br/>The ✨snacks✨ are not that amazing as they lack that spicy taste that we Indians love and live for. The snacks are perfect for their foreign customers.<br/><br/>The ✨Sweets✨ are absolutely amazing so when you visit this place?? don't forget to try em all❤.<br/><br/>The staff is very well behaved & stands up to your expectations in every aspect, from suggesting good champagnes to their serving manners.

I was really shattered to see the quality of ambiance and food taste at TAJ MACHAN RESTAURANT on 19 Feb 2018 Was really DISMAYED infact this visit at this property of Tajwas after long time<br/>Not only taste presentation of food was so weird<br/>No buffet at dinner is served which itself is surprising. Bread used for sandwiches was so hard infact grilled sandwiches so small in size not to compare with any five-star hotels<br/>Buns served as starters were so hard<br/>Really did not match Taj standards<br/>Courtesy extended by staff was pretty good but honestly Taj standards in terms of food quality has deteriorated drastically<br/>Such a frequent visitor to different five star properties I always appreciate good gestures and highlight positives<br/>Visited Taj hotels in past but this visit of our was a real shock not only to me but my family too<br/>I am little late in posting my review because I was occupied in various things today I received email from Taj inner circle regarding there celebration of women day on Thursday etc so it revised my memory of the dinner we had at the same RESTAURANT but surely a advice to senior Management of Taj to keep there reputation as at one point of time we use to look forward for dinning out at this restaurant.. just a suggestion for improvement<br/>SAURABH BHARGAVA

Highly recommended to have a meal at this restaurant because of their large selection and also the impeccable attention & service shown by the staff. It’s located on the lobby area of Taj Mahal Hotel.

The food is really nice but the ambience was a bit too light, or maybe that is because it is a place for the executives. But the food was as usual 5 star, haha! <br/>Ordered tomato soup, club sandwich and then dal and naan.<br/>Good service!

A fine dine restaurant in downtown to relish delicious food. I was accompanied with vegetarian friends so I tried vegetarian dishes only😋 in starter we had hara Bharat kebab - crispier outside and softer inside with balanced spices . <br/>Kuti mirch ka paneer - I found it tasty but marination was little raw.<br/>In main course we had chilgoza palak paneer and paneer papad ki sabji delicious but can be better.<br/>Naam was thin and crispy .<br/>I found service was little slow.<br/>Mocktails were amazing 😋<br/>Ambience - 5<br/>Presentation - 5<br/>Quantity - 5<br/>Quality - 5<br/>Service - 3<br/>Value for money - 4

Was there last night with a bunch of people from my office, Manchaan was the only option left since the all good places were closed.<br/><br/>Ordered -<br/>Thai red curry<br/>Thai green curry<br/>Steamed rice<br/>Chicken sandwich<br/>Arrabiata pasta.<br/><br/>Extremely average food.<br/>Couldn't say it was delicious either. It's was just Meh.<br/><br/>

The service is good. I really like the Kathi Kebab Kaziranga wrap at Machan. And this time too, it didn’t disappoint. The flavours are balanced, the chicken tender and juicy. The gosht biriyani was massive let down. The spices overpowered the entire dish to the point of making it bitter. The rice was on the drier side....would stay away from it in future.

The food at these kind of high end hotels is usually bland but that was not the case here, I really liked it. The decors were superb, obviously what else one would expect from a Taj hotel :P<br/>We had a family dinner here. Ordered Paneer lababdar, dal makhani, Kota, mix veg and different types of breads. I think the only drawback was the kofta being a bit too sweet.<br/>I would have given them more ratings had the service been a bit better. The server was probably in a bad mood or was actually slow, it killed the vibe of the moment. The staff needs to buckle to keep up with their reputation.

Went here to host an event and loved the support received from the staff. Arrangements was as per the plan and event was executed well. Food presented was exotic and absolutely indulging. Great experience!!

I'd this wonderful experience of dining in at The Taj Mahal Hotel, Mann Singh Road, New Delhi. The food is awesome, accompanied with unparelleled service and ambience.

Went for a team lunch buffet in July'17.<br/>The starters were fine but there wasn't much variety in main course.<br/>There were only 4-5 dishes for vegetarians. They tried to cover dishes from world cuisines but again the spread was less.<br/>Desserts spread was elaborate no doubt.<br/>Food - 3/5<br/>Service - 4/5  (not much service as it was buffet but refill speed was slow)<br/>Ambience - 3/5 (old world charm, decor needs revampimg)

Most wonderful experience I had😀. Food was great and nothing overdone. Recommended for all. Everything was aptly done, cooperative staff. Soups are definitely worth a try always

A pleasant golden Sunday afternoon made sweeter by Brunch at Machan.<br/><br/>Whenever I am in Machan I feel like being in an Artist’s imagination. We were seated by a window soaking into golden sunlight and enjoying sublime view of greenery and pool side. <br/><br/>The Brunch inventory offers amazing cold cuts, wraps, sandwiches, Indian, oriental and amazing deserts the likes and variety of which are not offered at most other Brunches. Aside from Champagne they also offer Scotch, Beer, two Cocktails and drinks for teetotaller’s. <br/><br/>At wrap/sandwich station you can personalise your bread. Seafood prawn sandwich is extravagant in taste and everything that went from my lips to the stomach was unbelievably delicious. <br/><br/>My RECOMMENDATIONS are Nutella crepe’s, Chocolate Tart, Shwarma and Prawn Dim Sums. But almost everything here is mouthwatering n tasty. An elegant and polite host enhanced our lunching.

Went to Machan last night. The manager there insisted to have buffet instead of alacarte as fri and sat they have started midnight Buffett<br/><br/>While having it the food tasted and looked stale and I didn’t opt for second helping. since no one offered breads I had the Biryani and some chicken lababdar , bacon n sausages <br/><br/>Having very bad case of food poisoning this morning <br/><br/>Have had food poisoning twice now on different occasions after eating at Taj mansing . Once earlier with INroom dining food and now restaurant midnight Buffett and both times it was a Biryani which I had eaten <br/><br/>So please be careful and post if anyone else also had the same experience !! <br/><br/>I urge the hotel staff and management to keep strict checks on their food and uphold the Taj quality as found in other hotels of Taj<br/><br/>The reason for the review is to ensure this hotel keeps the standards set by founding members of Tata group <br/><br/>

We had biryani here .The portion was ok .It was served with raita and salan. The Salan somehow tasted a bit sweet. The biryani was garnished with fried onions. The chicken was so well cooked that it could be eaten with a fork.<br/>The best dish was fish and chips served with a cheese dip. The fish was piping hot and flaky. Great taste.

The best thing about any restaurant in one of the Taj properties has to be the service and Machan lives up to it..! <br/>Food-wise - good options in a-la carte.. the soups, pav bhaji and wraps are worth trying. Indian food is good overall. Though surprisingly they don't have many options in Indian desserts. <br/>Theirs is one of the best breakfast buffets in town.. so thats something one shouldn't miss if fond of buffets.

Machan without a doubt has amazing and delicious food. My personal favourite is the bacon ceaser salad. It has perfect consistency and great taste. Their buffet is also really nice. Coming to indian food, its amazing. Their nans are crispy and the dal makhani is just amazing, the perfect combination. Highly recommended.

Pretty chill place to hang out. Iced tea was pretty good. The ambience and the staff are also very nice, and the service was excellent. Can't comment much on the food.

when u enter , u get a feeling " ok, another five star hotel with fine dining restaurant " so what else . service is considered to be good . ambiance need to be eye soothing if not eye catching..... everything in place but still an urge to look for something more !!!!!and buffets are after all buffets , everything so well placed .....<br/><br/>so here comes the food , just the food which is still connected to its roots . <br/><br/>i mean the restaurants serving multi cuisine lacks the spices , and the zing to suit in the of and on firang types. so Machan shall give u a miss on that front .<br/><br/>punjabi food tasted punjabi , oriental tasted oriental , continental tasted continental .... and to top it all are the DESERTS <br/><br/>one after the other , u can go on and on . one thing more , for the first time moong dal halwa did not taste suji , like usually mithaiwalas do .... so in all good experience<br/><br/>did i miss salads ....... this is one counter which i tend to miss .... but here is one place which pushed me not only to taste but take another helping <br/><br/>three cheers to the staff!!!! initially u think the service is slow but as soon as u look up there is somebody to cater to ur requirement , pick the plates , serve u.<br/><br/>overall an experience not to be missed...... after tasting the flaours , next time it is going to be ala – carte<br/><br/>must eat: <br/>Salads, Rogan josh , black pepper chicken , coffee mousse, moong dal halwa , custard pudding

Machan @ Taj on Mansingh road is iconic place and a landmark by itself. Traveling into New Delhi, we entered at wee hours past midnight and starbi g decided to try this place.<br/><br/>Since it was late drinks were not served which would limit the review and skip the wine list. <br/><br/>Ambience of the place is truly welcoming and modern yet aristocratic. Food menu was standard mughlai as well continental. Service was ok.<br/><br/>We tried chicken biryani, butter chicken, roti and malai kofta. Overall food was good but biryani was not quite the exotic biryani we had hoped. <br/><br/>Revisit : Maybe

Have been here several times and enjoyed a variety of their dishes. This place never disappoints. Good food and good service. However, I really feel they need to upgrade the ambiance.. it dulls me down as a diner. <br/>

Food- 4/5<br/>Food was delicious. <br/><br/>Service- 4/5<br/>Service was good. <br/><br/>Ambience- 3/5<br/>Very normal kind of ambience. Nothing fancy or classy. <br/><br/>Being part of Taj I had more expectations. <br/>But do visit around the property!

This is an exquisite place for losing the money out of your pocket and attacking their Breakast. They have different food items every day. Do try their baked yogurt. The assortment of fruits and juices are fascinating

Grown up listening to my parent’s stories of their date nights at this popular and celebrated coffee shop, I always had a vague image of this place. I happened to visit Machan some years ago (almost 5-6 years ago) and since then I have revisited it multiple times for something as simple as comfort.<br/><br/>This coffee shop residing in The Taj Mahal hotel, also popular as Taj Mansingh will immediately make you feel welcomed from the minute you enter it. Ample space done up in a simple yet sophisticated way, exuberates an old-world charm. (maybe just to me because of all the stories I’ve heard). The wooden décor and comfortable seating make the place elegant and apt for a date night or even a family dinner at the same time. Like most of the five-star hotels and their respective restaurants have an extremely intimidating vibe for some, I assure you that this coffee shop will make you feel at ease.<br/><br/>Coming to the food, it’s a multicuisine restaurant that serves an array of delectable dishes. They are quite popular for their Buffets, which are not very elaborate but is humble and has a decent variety of well-made dishes. They have Buffet for all three meals and a special Sunday brunch from 12 pm – 3:30 pm.<br/><br/>My Staple order is Red Thai Curry Chicken and Alfredo Chicken Pasta in White Sauce. Yes, it seems like a bummer but I always end up ordering these two dishes, despite trying various other options on their menu.<br/><br/>The Thai curry is of the perfect consistency and comes with boiled rice. It is neither too spicy and a Thai curry lover can tell that it is perfectly flavoured.<br/><br/>The Chicken Alfredo Pasta will please your taste buds like nothing else! Just the right amount of cheesiness and is not bland like most of them are. Chicken Biryani is another great dish if you are looking for something more filling and you can pair this, with their rich Butter Chicken, which isn’t sweet.<br/><br/>The last time I visited, I tried the Banoffee Pie, and with a very heavy heart, I will have to say that you guys should definitely skip it. It was stodgy, had a weird base to it and banana was nowhere in my sight.<br/><br/>Leaving this aside, I definitely recommend you visit this old gem. Some of you might not feel that the ambience lives up to the hotel’s standard, but I love the vintage vibe and suggest you guys should experience it for yourself. It might feel a little heavy on your pocket, but then one can treat themselves once in a while.

Went for a lunch buffet in Machan. The food is very exclusive with lot of multi cuisine items ( Thai, Mexicon, Dutch, Italian, Indian ...). I found Indian food bit average and there were very few Indian sweets in the buffet. It's bit expensive for the variety it offers.

The Taj Mahal brand has always been the epitome of opulence and this property just reiterates that.....the restaurant itself is opulent with bright lighting and amazing artwork....we tried the dahi kebabs, arrabiata pasta along with juhu beach sandwich and the kulfi....everything was great and the portions were generous.....so there is more to tan than just opulence
