Review Lavaash By Saby - New Delhi

Deepak Yadav
Great food and good ambience. Their fusion of Armenian and Bengali cuisine with western dishes is really great. Ambience is also beautiful and the location and campus looks great when sitting outdoors. A bit pricey but a good place to spend your evening nonetheless. Valet parking is available free of cost.

The food here is fantastic! The Armenian dishes are as authentic add possible despite being so far from the country. The view from the balcony is unbearable with the pomegranate vines on the pillars just enough to not overpower the decor. You may have to deal with the occasional smokers but this is far better than the extremely loud music booming inside that prevents any meaningful conversation. The staff are friendly and attentive. The food can be served in waves so that all persons in your party will get up sample the delicacies.

A place worth all the hype. Brilliant food and equally great setting. Surrounded by trees and an old Bengali world decor, Lavaash is just amazing. Visited it over the weekend and was enamoured by it. We ordered cold coffee, fresh lime, pomegranate based mocktails, onion prawn tolma, char grilled paneer skewer, mushroom manti, gobindobhog rice and spicy chicken in Georgian sauce. Loved everything. So full of flavour and such nice presentation. I only wish the service was a tad bit quick. It is understandable that Sunday lunches are a busy time in any restaurant but waiting 30 minutes for a sweet lime soda is tiresome.

Such a lovely and romantic setting. Love this restaurant for it's ambience and food. Best for it's outdoorsy settings and I love visiting it on winter afternoons and summer evenings😀 The staff is super courteous and attentive. The food is a lovely mix of Italian, Bengali and Armenian. There is great decor and lovely music. It's a great dining experience all in all.

Lavaash by Saby is a 150 seater restaurant at the beautifully restored Ambavatta one at Mehrauli. Beautiful interiors include hand embroidered Kantha work upholstered chairs and design elements from the peacocks , parrots and pomegranates. The balcony or the verandah terrace could easily qualify for one of the most romantic dining area in the city . Influenced by the few Armenians living in Kolkata , the menu is a fusion of Bengali cuisine and Armenian food curated by Chef Saby himself and is more than just promising. Following is what I tried here : LAVAASH with 4 dips which included Hummus, eggplant dip, spicy harissa and a yellow pepper dip is a must have here . They are presented in these tiny little handis and great to enjoy with your drinks . You cant go back without trying out the SPICED PIDE PIE . Soft and buttery Georgian boat bread freshly baked with a runny egg in the centre and topped with cheese was heavenly delicious. One dish I would visit this place again and again for. Also had TONIR ROASTED YAM , a tandoori yam for the first time .Tonir is an underground clay oven that metamorphosed into the tandoor .Chunky triangles of yam cooked to perfection in the Tonir and topped with a green salsa and served with freshly made kasundi was a total winner . For mains The VEGETABLE STEW was a coconut based gravy with vegetables and I had it with the best bread ever called MATNAKSH CLAY POT BREAD . Armenians are known to be one of the best bakers in the world and this bread is a beautiful representation of that. THE PONCHIKI for dessert. These were Armenian style soft doughnuts filled with Nutella . Basic yet so heavenly. THE MILK CHOCOLATE AND CHERRY CHEESECAKE was the perfect dessert to end this beautiful meal . So many flavours yet amalgamated so well. The ARMENIAN KAHWA ,the last of the day was definitely not your regular kahwa. Made with hints of winter spice and coffee it was really different. The service is just as one would expect here, awesome . With everything so good and a vast Vegetarian menu and my first tryst with Armenian food I'm not done yet here. My review is based on Vegetarian food ( including eggs)

I had the most amazing lunch here in the company of good friends. The platters were gorgeous, in particular the cheese platter featuring the Bandel cheese. Between us we tried so many things and were not disappointed by anything we ate. Even the desserts blew our mind. Don’t leave without trying the nolen gur ice cream. The perfect marriage of the Armenian Bong cuisine. Highly recommended. Highly repeatable. If you haven’t been, don’t miss out.

Had a bunch of interesting things. The drinks were great but the food was just above average. Was happy with the quantity but the taste wasn't all that great. The Lavaash & Hummus was a combo that worked out well. The dessert was delicious - see pictures!

Delicious, mind blowing food. Amazing decor and music. The setting is otherworldly and yet so delhi-ish. But what envelops all these things is the amazing storytelling by chef Saby. He takes one through Kolkata lanes and through Armenian delicacies and one finds themselves in another era, relishing each element on the plate the way it was intended. Must visit!

Good for couples and family.. Went here on Sat afternoon with couple of friends. Food is definitely a USP with unique combination. Awesome decor. Friendly staff. Best place to get good photographs.

Amazing ambience and beautiful fusion of Armenian and Bengali cuisine! Went there at night when the place was calm and tastefully done up with beautiful lighting. Tried the spicy chicken gravy with the freshly baked pull apart bread. It was simply marvellous. Had the mince coated devilled eggs! Also a must try is the railway mutton curry with ghee tossed gobindo bhog rice. You shall attain gastronomical nirvana <3

Lavaash is located in a posh gated shopping/eating area just a stones throw away from Qutub Minar. The restaurant is beautifully decorated both inside and on the patio. The service is friendly and prompt. We ordered the following: 1) eggplant tolma: one of my favorite things I have eaten in India. The beetroot mixed with peanuts and kalimpong cheese has a wonderful texture and absolutely scrummy 2) lavash fish: the outer lavash is oven crisped, with a well spiced fish tucked inside. The balance of mustard, ginger, and chiles is fantastic. The accompanying tomato/ginger sauce is also a must since the fish is a bit dry. 3) mushroom manti: I would have liked it to taste more like mushroom, but the filling mixture is nonetheless very delicious 4) orange pound cake: at first glance it looks like a simple orange upside down cake, but it has a addicting tender crumb deeply rich in orange flavor. Coupled with the nutty jaggery ice cream, this dessert ended our lunch perfectly. The menu is vast, and literally everything just seemed so tempting. If ever I return to Delhi, I would certainly come here again.

Delicious food with chik ambience .The Lamb kobideh was juicy, Lavash pizza was crisp ,The Armenian bread"Matnakash" was soft with upper crust of Melon seeds and pull apart loafs. Overall we had amazing experience.

Hummus and breads are outstanding. Both veg and non-veg mains are tasty. Restaurant is a little run down and it shows in the day. In the evenings the setting of the area is very charming and romantic.

The mutton curry portion was very large, enough for 3-4 people to share, we didn't know haha. But it was my husband's favorite, very flavourful curry and tender meat! The spiced lamb sausages were delicious as well. The spinach and pumpkin raviolis were lighter and very good as well. The doughnut's filling of nutella exploded once we cut into it, exceptional meal and great outside seating. We only had this one meal the whole day and it's worth every penny.
NITISH DEWAN
Amazing ambience and delicious food. A must have experience if you wanna try some new cafe/cuisine.

#When #celebrity #chef #hosts #your #dinner A fine night, fine company and an awesome dining experience makes memories.. That's what you get at Lavaash by Saby . The menu is very unique and well researched with excellent flavors such as "Calcutta Cheese Platter", ambience extravagant and lavish.. Historical Qutub Minar is an addition to the mystical surroundings.. Thank you Chef Sabyasachi Gorai for such an exquisite experience and a friendship to cherish..

First and foremost, I think Lavaash by Saby would be an absolute delight on a date night. The Ambavatta One location is just perfect for this restaurant and the décor inside is kitschy, colorful and warm at the same time. I had the pleasure of discovering this place with my colleagues on a weeknight food hunt, and we did end up having a good time. A review of things we ordered: Armenian Mezze Platter – The platter seemed like the obvious choice to start the night with, and the dips accompanying the fried lavash were quite nice, but all in all, the platter was underwhelming. Could have used some form of protein to make the platter more substantial. Iranian Lamb Koobideh – Succulent lamb kebabs served with lavash. The lamb was moist and juicy and I loved the fact that it wasn’t too spicy, as is the tendency with some kebabs. Was the kebab good? Yes. Can it be considered a house specialty? No, you can find similar tasting stuff elsewhere. Paprika Olive Oil Chicken Skewer – Like the koobideh, the chicken was good but nothing special. Mushroom Manti – Hands down the dish of the night! Delightful little parcels full of mushroom and cheese. The tomato sauce complemented the manti really well. Will revisit Lavaash just for these. Mutton Rezala – So many people had recommended this dish, including the staff, and it did turn out to be a house favorite. The mutton was falling apart just right. Personally though, the gravy lacked a robust flavor. Panir, Walnut and Spinach Kefta – Will definitely make the veggie lovers out there very happy. Spicy chicken in Georgian sauce – The gravy was almost the same as the paneer kefta, only spicier. The after-hit of the pepper stays with you; so in case you’re not a spice aficionado, give this one a miss. Chef’s Gata – Ended the night on a high with this yummy desert, complete with the flaky puff pastry and cheese. The berry ice cream, though, was to die for! A shout out to the staff that was polite and helpful, and very courteous.

Causal dining environment meant to encourage conversations over shared food platters and extraordinary cocktails. Some of the best grilled meats i have had - great marinations and the perfect grilled flavor and killer taste of high quality ingredients. Highly recommend patio seating - even in winter.

Lavaash by Saby is all about love on a plate. May sound poetic but it is true. Last. Hint I happened to visit with two foodies. This was their first time at Lavaash. One of them has travelled the world extensively and enjoys, respects his food. His exact words 'this is my best meal in India' Saby and Megha you do magic with food. It's delicious, delicate and balanced. The ingredients are simple and relatable - mustard, extra virgin olive oil, fresh herbs freshest of sea food. The prawns buttery and fish just melted in my mouth. For those looking for extra spice can load up Lavaash's very own spice mix to spike. The breads just compliment all the dishes and elevates the flavours to another level. I could survive on the Lavaash alone! Cocktails were fresh and made the celebration complete. Thank you once again for your generosity and love, it reflects in every bite! I am back soon, you can count on it! Cheers!

Was invited to this awesomely lovely place. Thanks to Nimish, Preeti Dave & Chandini. Modernist and food with ideas and creativity at it' s best. The fusion with service takes it to another level. The staff had all the patience to explain and serve the dishes. The cuisine of Armenian and Bengali food is a delight and spread of more of delicious veg and apt non-veg culinary dishes. Awaiting to be in Delhi to be here again. Top of my list. Thanks Chef Megha.

Very Bad and Sad..... I wanted to rate this place in minus but there is no option for negative rating. Air-conditioning is not working... no fumigation done for long time.... as was full of mosquitoes. Burnt chicken is served. Order given are cancelled by the staff at their own without the guest being even asked about their choice or decision. I can keep on going about my BAD experience.... but let me end it here with a request to all to please avoid..... having the same sad experience..... specially on a special occasion.

Loved everything- from ambience to interior decor to food presentation to taste to hospitality. The host even went an extra mile by accommodating my 5yr old's requests as they did not have a kid's menu. The only suggestion I have - if you could find a way to spike up the Mutton Rezala by a notch that would be make it 100%. Being a bong myself, Mutton Rezala is pretty close to my heart and I thought it was slightly bland than I would have wanted it to be. Overall a great place and would recommend everyone to go there. I would also love to go back there when in Delhi next time. Kudos to Saby and his awesome team for the great service! ďż˝

It's the place where chilling with girlfriend is awesome. It's not only the resort but it's the couple best place to take lunch, dinner, and many more.

We were there last night. Great ambience Awesome food and warm hospitality. Saby and his team at their best. Meats were very well cooked and flavourful The chocolate n rum dessert was killer. Highly recommended for a great evening with some fine food.

Lovely food in a brilliant setting. Wonderful experience to enjoy good conversations with drinks and food. Only thing that needs some attention is the service which was a little off the mark in comparison to food and ambience. The courtesy was perfect but order taking and service could be better. Apologies for the dropped drink the excitement got the best of us. ďż˝

Went for a special night out and was not disappointed ... the food, the ambience and the whole experience is lovingly curated and put together .. one of the better hideouts in Delhi ..

The ambience is beautiful, it's a small cozy seating. There is less variety on the menu. I did not like the drinks I ordered much.
Muskan Wadhwa
The place has a dual sitting indoors and balcony. Its best for trying the Armenian cuisine in Delhi . Food has an attractive presentation and tastes fabulous. Service was remarkable . Worth the visit .

I was here with my family for dinner. I ordered the lamb koobideh which was very good. I was not a fan of the gigantic sized railway mutton curry and confused prawn clay pot. Although the main course was in impressive, but the dessert and the starter were really good. It’s a good causal high end cafe with good cocktails and unique decor.

This place SERIOUSLY needs to work on its service. The waiters don’t look interested in doing their job or adding any value to customer’s experience. It’s an expensive place and if someone is making an effort to come here and spend their hard earned money, we better get some value for it.

For all those couples out there, do visit this place, you’ll just fall in love with it. One of your places you have to go type places in your to do list.

Panir Walnut Spinach Kefta that was accompanied by rumali roti type bread.

Chicken was from chef's special menu.

Dessert is Ponchiki filled with nutella.

I recently went there and had chef special uttarakhand thali and totally loved every bit of it. Beautiful ambience and aura.

The quality of food served has gone down at this place. We order a mushroom manti which took 45 minutes to come. When the dish came, it was uncooked and cold from inside.

Lavaash by Saby ; Sunday 10:00 PM ; Party of 5

Last order is at 10:30 PM - we were forewarned before we even got seated. Nice of them to do that. We made a promise to make it quick that we fully intended to keep because we were famished! Interiors are nice, warm, cozy .. perfect for dates, even to hangout with friends.. Food was simply delectable! Everything we ordered was enjoyable.
Will i go back? Yes.
Do I recommend? Definitely.

Food - 5/5
Ambience - 5/5

Terrible experience ! Lavaash is the kind of place that makes you leave a table after giving them 4 hours of business, just because it’s dinner time. If you want to chill, this is the worst place to be. Can’t believe even the manager is trained to fight customers. Had the worst experience here. Would never come back.

A Quaint place located in Mehrauli.
The cocktails are a must try and are on the stronger side. The food portions are good enough for two.
We ordered the chicken salad which was on their chef’s Megha menu. The chicken was perfect and the madras masala made the salad an interesting choice. Next we ordered the spiced soya keema koobideh(A must try)which comes with their signature lavaash bread. It’s a little bit on the dry side which they compensate with there mayonnaise and mustard dip. And lastly we had the traditional Armenian lavaash fish. It consist of baked lavash bread with fish filling. The outer layer of bread was well baked with the right amount of crispness. The fish was well cooked and the mustard was overwhelming. I personally like mustard so for me it was flavourful but this was not the case with my better half.
We ended our evening with a chocolate dessert, which to be honest could’ve been better.
For a nice romantic quiet evening and if you are in for trying something new, I would definitely recommend this place.

The food portions weren't that good. The cleaner started sweeping the floor as we were eating and all the dirt was falling on the food.

This place doesn't need any review nevertheless, the awesome food - the amazing ambiance says it all. I went on the first day of 2020 - 1st Jan - BRUNCH! And, trust me, when it comes to food - I literally have kick-started 2020 in such a delicious way!
From starters to dessert - everything is just YUM!
A brilliant place to chill and unwind with your favorite people!

The restaurant has brilliant ambience and has an impeccable selection of dishes. We had an amazing time, and the food was delectable and the wine offered just went brilliantly by it.

As a strict non vegetarian I did not mind savoring the mochar Puff like a true glutton that I am. Also, the chargrilled paneer and cauliflower kebobs were very well done. Surely to visit again soon enough.

Go here for conversations. Quite and secluded. Has a calming presence. Good crowd. Fine cocktails. Taste of the food could be better to suit the Indian taste palette. Good place for luncheons, high tea and dinners for small teams and dates.

The beautiful sitting was the only thing which made us stay there. The food and the cocktails were really NOT upto the mark.

6 of us visited this place over the weekend. overhyped, could largely improve the decor, hardly any choice for veg, needs much improvement for presentation and quality of food, overcharging & duplication till we pointed it out, 10% service charge mandatory ????
not value for money and would not recommend. The only saving grace was the lady chef who was kind enough to recommend some veg dishes. in winters a roasted pumpkin soup????surely the restaurant can offer better variety!

Not worth the fame or price. Expected better food and serving quality. Definitely not insta worthy

Food - 3/5 don't expect much out of food
Cocktails - 4/5 slightly on the stronger side but they were worth trying .
Ambience- 5/5 just woowwww place😍
Price - $$$ (expensive)
Perfect for dinner dates!

Visited the place for my birthday on November 20, 2019, and the initial moments were to our liking. We had a place reserved for inside seating arrangement with a promise to be shifted to the outside seating once the same became available. Much to our dismay, majority of the outside seating remained vacant till the time we were there but the same was denied repeatedly. The restaurant manager, Ekon, was extremely rude and arrogant in the denial, to the point where we had to call for the cheque even before we moved to the second course. And the icing on the cake was a 10% service charge and applicable gst on the service charge... Hah!!! In my opinion a restaurant which is a part of the hospitality industry and of this standing should have well
mannered and behaved people waiting to welcome guests and not shoo them away mid-meal. Thank you #Lavaashbysaby for ruining the evening and my birthday.

I attended their Platter 2.0 set menu event, which was in collaboration with Black and White. The five-course event was to start at 8. However, till 9:15 pm all I got was the mutton pizza and cocktails. They finally started service after that and by 10:40 pm only two courses were served. The food is lovely of course. And their staff are so courteous. But due to this bad time management, I had to leave the event without even completing the courses. I had the ticket booked a week in advance and was so excited. I had heard so much about Lavaash. Sadly, I feel it was a waste of my time and money. I could’ve gotten a much better experience and not gone back home hungry had I gone on another day and not for this event. You have to be considerate of your guests.
Vibhor Kwatra
It’s a cool date place. Love the vibe and the menu options. Wish they have options for set menu. I’d love to come back to the place again.

This is place is highly overrated. Frankly the food and service was truly sup bar. The decor extremely mediocre. The food actually seemed like from a third rate eatery that we get on the highways. The servers looked most disinterested. Not one item we ordered tasted good. I have traveled the world and eaten all over. I ate much much better Armenian style food in New York which tasted so good that I wanted to try and repeat that experience. But that was not to be. It is a lot of pomp and show in the media by the owner but this was truly junk - the food, service, decor all.
Prateek Arora
It was an amazing place to hang out. But the sheer disappointment of reaching there only to find a board outside the restaurant saying "Zomato Gold not accepted" even though it's page on Zomato says otherwise. We were sitting inside but decided to move outside as it was quite warm inside, and requested the waiters to transfer our food outside, but they went ahead and disposed off the food without even asking us. Such an amazing place and food was delicious but let down by service and lack of coordination.
Richa
It was sad to go to a highly rated restaurant and receive such bad service. The wait staff were all busy on their phones and paid no attention to the customers. We had to get up from the outside verandah and go inside to order our drinks. Service was extremely slow. Food is very very basic . Had the mutton with pepper which had an overpowering flavour of pepper almost inedible, the prawn clay pot ( which the menu listed as good for two people) came with 4 prawns in a tasteless tomato gravy. Very bad experience would not recommend it either for food quality or service .

1. Ambience 4/5
2. Location 5/5
3. Music 4/5
4. Food pricing 3/5 - This really needs to be updated so that one can come back again
5. Outdoor seating 5/5
6. Food taste 3.5/5

Lavaash by Saby was on my zomato bookmark for a long time now. And it was birthday lunch that I finally decided to dine here.

It was a great sunny afternoon so we opted to sit outside near the balcony.

The ambiance of the place is very beautiful. Very colorful and pretty. Loved the swing placed outside.

Coming to my food experience..

Since, the place is famous for it's Armenian cuisine I thought of ordering one thing from those options.

1. MUSHROOM MANTI

This was much 1st time with this dish and I admit it was a pretty good experience. It had cream cheese filling which I totally liked. It was made to perfection ! A must try.

2. Chef's Signature Veg Cheese Pizza

This one again was loaded with cheese ofcourse. And the best part was the thin crust. It was just rightly baked. Quality of ingredients was A1.

But the portion size was quite less and unsatisfactory for the price they charge.

Service is ok. A little slow.

Overall a decent experience!

Just happened to hear this place by word of mouth and wasn’t too sure when I heard the cuisine they were serving. Armenian Bengali cuisine. But surely enough the foodie I am
I decided to visit the place nonetheless. The ambience is just amazing. Though I visited during Diwali so the whole place
Was decked up with fairy lights and all. Quick tip, if you want the outdoor seating, prior booking is a must, as it’s a tedious to get one on the spot. Hence book before you go. Best time to visit the place is during the night or evening. What added to the amazing experience was their selection of music. The oldies and the classics added to the experience and we just enjoyed our time there. Music is only available in the outdoor seating space. I ordered the mochar puff (vegetarian) Along with the spicy soy sizzler. The mochar puff is a bit spicy and is served with a tomato chutney. In my personal opinion, wasn’t that great to taste but was okay. I assumed this place was not designed to cater to vegetarian people but they have a good selection for the likes of us.
Coming to the spicy soy sizzler. Was good to eat and taste. The soya wasn’t too chewy like in most of the cases. Good spicing and and good selection of herbs. Using whole Garlics was just amazing. All in all the food was good and the ambience and the songs made it better. First time I experience how the surrounds and ambience and context setting of the place makes the place more enjoyable and and mesmerising.
For all those couples out there, do visit this place, you’ll just fall in love with it. One of your places you have to go type places in your to do list.
The only disappointment was that their roof top seating from where you get the amazing view of Qutab minar was under renovation and they have no idea when it’s going to open up. So outdoor balcony is your only option at the moment and mind you space and seating is very limited there. Hence the prior booking recommendation.
I might just visit the place a few more times to try out the food that was left out.
Great place, great ambience, great songs, good food.
Good job lavaash 👍🏻

Excellent food we had. Our compliments to chef Megha for good food and our waiter Manoj for all the courtesy extended during our visit. Looking forward to coming back again.

Food was average. Tasted like any other generic place. Plating was terrible. Music lame. Not worth the money.

I went here for birthday lunch with my friend and didnot really like the food, maybe because of the cuisine they had. Though the decor and ambience were really nice. Its situated in really high end market near mehrauli. One must come here for experience.

Their service is bad, and their staff is pretty rude too, we had to wait 50 mins to get the pizza. This place is like any other overpriced Cafe with cute decor and not much to offer. Guys! You can do better, please train your staffs to behave properly

Lavaash By Saby

South Delhi has a lot of places, there’s the Hauz Khas area where you can go to party like kids and then there’s the the Saket Mehrauli area where you can go to get a subtle party going on.

So I was searching for a place when I found about this place, located in a very posh locality where you can get the feel of going to high class restaurant.

The place had valet parking so that was a plus point, from there the place had a very nice decor and the ambience was also very good.

Like I said there was the subtle wave of Friday night in the place.

The place has both outdoor and indoor sitting and you can enjoy the place whichever way suits you.

So the food is selective and specifically based on a cuisine, so only try out the place if you’re a fan of the Armenian cuisine.

So I had a lot of things which I would like to share -;

1. Char Grilled Jewish Paneer Sticks - 4/5
2. Sevan Style Grilled fish - 4/5
3. Chefs Gata - 5/5

So aside from that we had some amazing drinks, person sally I found that their LIIT could be a bit better and their gin and tonic was served very well.

So if you wanna go or and have fun in a subtle way and enjoy the luxuries of a nice neighbourhood, then definitely check out the place.
Mohit Mungali
A beautifully set restaurant, very cozy mosaic like interiors & an under outside open seating. The food clearly is well coordinated with the setting. The bhaiji chicken curry from the summer menu was amazing with thoughtfully used ingredients from the Kumaon region.

This kitschy and cute restaurant is a powerhouse of flavours and deliciousness. I loved their grilled prawns!! Meghna kohli lifted something as banal and boring as prawns to another lever and the dips were so very goods and complemented those prawns perfectly.
We were there for the bhihari this and the pizza and prawns were ordered as nibblers to the main course. It was the best decision because that soft sweet prawns and the perfectly and not too spicy pizza bread were really good!

The mood is incredible. Music is astonishing and the spot has a stunning vibe. We visited the spot just because and the excellence of the spot shocked me. I attempted prawn just because and it was stunning. I requested Jurassic cheddar lavaash pizza which was heated pleasantly. In beverages I requested Mahua and the Park Street Mojito mixed drinks. In all I had an incredible encounter.

The food is ok, but the staff is very unprofessional , washroom are very dirty , staff fighting and talking very loudly to each other in front of guests . Very bad experience! Definitely not visiting again.

It is one of the hidden gems of Mehrauli. I went there yesterday with my wife and we sat in the balcony. Just had a couple of beers. The service was very good and the weather was icing on the cake. Would definitely go there again

Went on a wintery friday evening. Nice ambience, the interior decoration feels very cosy...took a suorer bachchha and a black diamond cocktail....the black diamond comes as hot hot rum cocktail...which was great given the chilly weather outside...the suorer bachha was great, but no as overwhelming as I thought it would be...the egg devil was good but had a little thicker layer of minced meat than I would have liked...the taste if the meat actually overpowered the taste of the egg inside...the mutton rezala was a little bit different than traditional mutton rezalas you usually find in mughlai restaurants...but different in a better way... however the star of the evening was the prawn tolma....the crispness of the prawn and the soft buttery texture of the onion was instant hit... accompanied with the mustard sauce...the dish felt heavenly...
Overall enjoyed my evening thoroughly... Need to go there a couple of times more in order to explore the full menu...

had heard great reviews abt lavaash. but for some reasons, feel a little disappointment.
food was really really average. pizza was good. but the starter - soya keema kebab was below average. very dry it was and also dnt taste good.
overall, i would give 3 out of 5 for the food. service too was okayish- can be improved.

I believe its more about the area, gentry that adds to the reviews. no doubt, you have stores like Manish Malhotra, Dolly J in the campus !!

I was surprised by their food and service, i was expecting a typical posh restaurant that is too proud to accept their flaws. But man oh man!! They heard me.
Ambience - 5/5
Food - 4.5/5
Drinks - 5/5
Service - 5/5
Great food. The outside seating is really nice on a rainy, chilly day. Otherwise must stay indoors. Easy to locate. They have some serious obsession with Prateek Kuhad though XD.
Lovely ambience. Really enjoyed the decor. The food was really good. Tried the mezze platter -nice dips.
Good service.
Will recommend trying atleast once!

Very artistic ambience. And the personal notes here and there in the menu from the owner added to the charm. Food was exquisite. The whole theme does justice to the cuisine.

Consistently decent food. I keep coming back to Lavaash and rarely does it disappoint. I do think though that the staff needs to be better trained and more neatly dressed. Also for some reason they keep the lights of the restaurant switched off which kind of takes away from the ambiance. All said and done, food is 5/5.

The place is super awesome because it welcomes cats on the terrace. They are so beautiful and light up the whole restaurant. The music is amazing. The food tastes decent but the service is slow and needs a lot of improvement. We tried a bunch of things like cauliflower and pumpkin kebabs, mutton puffs and lentil sticks to name a few. There were cocktails and mocktails too. We enjoyed the experience of spending time there more than the food. If the tastes and serving sizes could be improved, this place can go a long way.

I visited Lavaash on an early winter’s afternoon last year. The place was packed. Though the ambiance was great inside, we choose to sit outside. The huge trees in the vicinity and glimpses of Qutub Minar was just an icing on the cake. The crowd was very decent too. The whole Armenian feel gets on to you even more when you have a look at the menu.

We ordered the usual drinks for us, though there were a lot many cocktail options. In food we ordered, Armenian Mezze Platter and Spicy Chicken in Georgian Sauce. The platter was different from usual and that'S what we liked about it. the chicken was brilliantly cooked, tasted amazing and was served with Lavaash Signature bread.
The taste of the food was perfect, accompanied with decent quantity. Service was prompt and The staff was really courteous.

This place is a must visit for a quiet and relaxing time with your loved one or family.

Wonderful experience. Ambience is beautiful and the outdoor sit-out area is a cool place to chill. Very nice food especially potato tolma and Iranian lamb koobideh. Mushroom Manti (kind of ravioli) was not thay great. Overall- a must go place.

Lavaas was a disappointing experience for me and it started as I entered with a set of rude staff members. For the price point of the restaurant the selection of staff just doesn’t go well with the overall vibe.

I also didn’t enjoy the food very much yet their drinks are exceptional. Therefore not giving 2 stars but 3.

Something as basic as hummus and dips had too much salt in it. I wouldn’t recommend going here nor will I visit ever again.

What did I order?
1. Mango cheesecake - 2/5
2. Drinks - 5/5
3. Kebabs - 4/5
4. Mezze Platter - 2/5

⭐️⭐️⭐️

A fabulous place with plenty to like. The food is amazing and so is the setting. Will avoid details this time as my experience was ruined due to an argument regarding the use of Zomato Gold.

The rating given is purely on the basis of how I felt when I left the place.
Until next time.

This place is simply AMAZING! Not only the ambience is very cute and romantic, but the food is on another level. The chicken skewers, grilled fish, mango margarita- everything was superb. They also have great outdoor seating and the rains made my day😊

A beautiful place with some sumptuous food💕
Reflection of class and cleanliness. Great for dates as well as for family dinners. A little tough to reach via Maps, give them a call and they will guide you well.
I had prawn clay pot with rice.
Garlic & tomato curry in prawns along with some jeera rice topped with Desi ghee.
Also loved the bubblegum essence in watermelon mojito ✌️
Urvashi Barman
So I went here for dinner, and while the ambience and the cocktails are marvelous, the food is a huge let down. I had an appetizers from their summer menu, chicken Koliwada and a main from their original menu, prawns casserole with butter rice. The chicken was uninspired, and had me yearning for the Koliwada I had back in a small restaurant in Bombay while the prawn dish was quite frankly a disaster. Will only be visiting this place (if ever) for the drinks. Just eat some fries if yiu need to munch something with your drinks

Dropped in here for dessert recently and it was excellent. We had the Bhapa Doi with Cherry Compote and the Rum Raisin Chocolate Mousse both of which were outstanding. I would come back here again for these alone.

You have to try this place! Armenian cuisine at its best. The decor with the beautifully painted walls, the glass balls and fairy lights, the jute jhoolas and the intricate blue patterned doors is right out of a midsummer dream!!
Try sitting outside during evenings - its amazing!
The signature cocktails are to die for! Loved the tall vodka chimney and the basil-mint-gur concoction!
We tried the onions stuffed with prawns and their take on mutton kebabs. I must say I've never quite tasted something like this before- super savory! We ended with the Chef Gata - a special baked pasrty dessert with ice cream on the side - heart warming!!!

Ambience: Excellent
Food: Average
Drinks: Average
Service: Poor
Music: Excellent

We visited the place for the first time and the beauty of the place took me by surprise.
The ambience is excellent.
Music is amazing and the place has an amazing vibe.
We spent our entire evening here and didn’t want to leave.
However, the service was very slow and the servers didn’t bother to check if we needed anything more.
We ordered lentil sticks, mutton puff, cauliflower and pumpkin kebabs, Ground meat tolma, smokey Chimney and Virgin watermelon mojito.

The lentil sticks tasted fine, the tolma was nice, mutton puffs tasted average and the drinks were not great.

Everything is overpriced and clearly they are charging for the ambience.

PS: I will still visit this place again .

Probably one of the most off beat and inquisitive vibes in south Delhi, lava ash has always been a nice restaurant that has felt like a refreshing experience to anyone who’s looking for some amazing Armenian delicacies.

I love love the ambience. If you’re looking for a place for a date night, some wine and good music. This is the place for you. Just where you imagine dancing to good tunes. So pretty and loved the outdoors. They do play old school music which is birds chirping to ears. So good.

I’ve been here before too. This was my second visit. I wasn’t satisfied with my first one and hence hopped on again after more than 3 years or so.

But disappointed yet again.
Food: I ordered Iranian Lamb Koombideh. Omg omg omg, this is the traditional charcoal grilled minced kebabs served with lavaash (sort of roti) and 2 dips mustard and yoghurt based. These are so good that every time I am here, there is no slight chance I am gonna miss on this one.
Next up, I ordered Mushroom manti which is ravioli with red sauce. I found it very simple so much so that flavours were too mind for me and nothing special about it. Also called for prawn clay pot casserole, I am a huge fan of prawn in whichever form and drool over. But this dish is again bland and too light on flavours. Also I tend to think of clay pot as boiling hot which wasn’t the case. so a no no.
Got nutella doughnut too which is a basic doughnut oozing with nutella. So I did like it but again, very average.

Service: Disappointed. Both the main course were tomato gravy based which ideally the helper should have pointed out since we were seeking recommendations but did not. When I asked for the doughnut, he went twice inside to check up. Felt like he was too new to take an order for such a fancy place and cuisine. A big no no no.

Must have: Iranian Lamb Koombideh

I have been brought up in Bengal and have never wanted to go to Armenia. But when both come together in a place that looks like a green oasis in the middle of hot and sultry summer then how could I say no! Lavaash even with a chef change is still as good as it used to be in Chef Saby's days. The greens, the seating and the blue ceramics... all exude the aroma of bygonr days which I think is also reflected in that beautifully put together menu. Some of the things to definitely try out... Kabiraji cutlet (one of the best outside of CR Park), the prawn claypot - this one is bursting with soft subtle flavours and the prawns were great as well.. The pizzas are also quite unique. And, finally the cocktails are strong and some of them are great concotions.. Designed to knock you off. Did you know there are only 200 armenians in India and that gondhoraj is a lemon!
#foodheaven #bengali #greenheaven #musteat

Such a lovely place! It’s a perfect place for a dinner date. I went there on a Friday night and we sat on the rooftop. It’s not too crowded and the ambience is really nice. (The view of Qutub is an add on). The food is quite nice and you’ll have a good time for sure. Do try their in house roti!! The staff is very courteous. I also liked the cocktails there!

Lavaash has been on my to visit list for a long time. When my siblings who wanted to explore different cuisines in Delhi came over this seemed like the best place. However with them being vegetarians I was hesitant about the experience.

The options however did not disappoint. We ordered grilled paneer which tasted very different in the Armenian preparation - our first ever with tamarind sauce. Matnakesh bread too was an exploration and I loved it. Spinach and pumpkin ravioli was interesting, but did not appeal to my taste buds.

Also thanks to the chef for sharing the detailed journey of making this restaurant and telling me how Aremenian and Bengali cuisine fit in together (I was bamboozled earlier). The font of the pages was lovely too :)

Recommended!

Just finished my dinner at Lavaash. I really thought the food was quite ordinary. While the Iranian starter was decent, the main course mutton rezala was nothing to write home about. I also shared the cheesecake with my wife and thought it was ordinary too. I am a Bengali and I know the taste of rezala. The mutton seemed it was boiled in a pot of starch. Had gone there with lot of expectations but feeling really disappointed. For the price it charged the quality of food seemed low and the authenticity seemed wanting. Good luck!

What a perfect place to visit for a romantic date night especially if the weather outside is chilling ! The interiors are greatly done and equally beautiful is the open area. They serve one of the amazing LIIT, and ofcourse their signature dishes lavaash bread and pizza are both worth a try ! 5/5 for ambience, 4/5 for food.

Chef Saby is an iconic chef with an immense treasure of experience & talent which clearly reflects in Lavaash by Saby.
Located in a serene bungalow a walk from Qutub Minar, a signboard with LAVAASH in blue greets you on the way upto the first floor. As one enters through the doors, the decor is bright and colourful. For cocktails we had the Mahua Mehul – a gin based drink which was very flavourful and slightly sweet to my liking. This drink was served creatively in a copper bucket hanging on an iron hook. The other cocktail that we ordered was a hot toddy and it was perfect for my sore throat.
Summer is here and they have a special menu designed by Head Chef Megha Kohli who currently runs the operation. We stuck to the old menu though – to old favourites such as Prawn Tolma and Lamb Koobideh. The lamb was exceptional, beautifully spiced but very light served cleverly on a roti which absorbs all the delicious juices and tastes amazing. Tolma is prawn and onion masala stuffed in onion rings & baked served with a delectable and creamy sauce of coconut milk and onions. These were flavours typical of a Bengali home. I loved the dish but would suggest less onions and more prawn.
For the mains we ordered for a pan seared fish in lavaash – the fish was steamed inside the bread and came served in it. The fish was cooked perfectly – soft and succulent. This was served with a tomato bisque. The dish over all was quite good.
Desert was the adorable Ponchiki with Nutella. A stuffed doughnut – soft and fluffy with gooey Nutella spilling out once you cut the Ponchiki. My fav.
The restaurant has a verandah attached with a young neem tree spilling over the walls, which also seats guests and is the smoking zone.

Well , I really liked the ambiance. It is based on armenian theme . The word lavaash means Bread 🍞. I tried prawn for the first time (onion prawn tolma)and it was amazing. I ordered Jurassic cheese lavaash pizza 🍕 which was baked nicely. In drinks I ordered Mahua and the Park Street Mojito cocktails 🍸. In all I had a great experience.
