Review Fuji Japanese Restaurant - New Delhi

Rohit Ghosh
Previously a purely Japanese, turned into pan asian restaurant for good. Food - Had Gyouza, Ramen, Korean fried chicken; everything was great. Just a weird experience by adding Mochi ice-cream, I loved it but my wife hated it. Service - Great service; quite welcoming and everything was quick on the table. Ambiance - Average experience in terms of ambiance and atmosphere. Not bad nor anything extraordinary. Price - Cost of 2 was approx ₹3k including liquor. After discount ₹2.5k Value - 4.5/5 Overall I had a good experience. Will visit again in future.

The food, service and ambience were all great! Especially the ambience. The place is aesthetically pleasing and the staff is very courteous. I tried a lot of dishes here and I relished each and every dish. The service was also super quick. The place is adequately priced plus you'll get a great discount through swiggy and dineout as well. There was sufficient parking outside the restaurant. Lastly the washrooms were clean. No complaints, I recommend this to all!

Located at CP inner circle New Delhi. Neat and clean restaurant. Nice theme like Japanese and atmosphere. Staffs are supportive and cooperative. We had a lunch here and had tuna sushi 🍣, salmon Sushi 🍣, hot bowl chicken and prawn 🍤 🍜 rice 🍚, Chicken Hakka Noddles, Soup🍲 etc. Fresh and good quality foods. Price is little bit higher side. 💯 Recommended.

From the freshness of the seafood to the precision in the preparation of traditional Japanese favorites, Mount Fuji delivers an authentic culinary experience. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, making dining here all the more enjoyable. While the prices may be higher than average, the quality of ingredients and the authenticity of the cuisine make it a worthwhile indulgence for Japanese food enthusiasts. We tried Chicken and Hot Basil Sui Mui, Tom yum Pork, Prawn tempura and Bacon and Chilli Pork Fried Rice. All the items were delicious and perfect portion size. I especially love the fried rice that had a smokey flavour with kind of like sticky rice. It was an amazing experience.

My friend and I were looking for some Japanese/ Asian cuisine when we came across Mount Fuji. The Ramen! It was decent. The sushi was excellent! Loved it to bits. The ambience was pleasant, and I loved the hospitality.

Overall I love the wide variety of Japanese and Pan Asian food options. The staff is extremely friendly and the ambiance of the place is very calm and welcoming. If you are in CP and enjoy Japanese cuisine this place is a must plus their cocktails and mocktails options are wow.

Amazing place. Loved the ambience. Quick service. Delicious food. Service is top-notch. We had Veg Ramen, veg Tofu Mushroom Bao, Exotic veg dumpling, veg Rainbow sushi roll, Pina Colada mocktail. All of them were extremely delicious and had beautiful presentation. Will definitely visit again. Since it was our first time ordering Japanese food, the staff explained and suggested dishes patiently. Overall an amazing experience. Do visit with your family and friends. A hidden gem in CP.

I had corn &chestnut dumplings and mapo tofu ramen. Undoubtedly the food was excellent and delicious. The flavours were as expected out of authentic Japanese restaurants. Only drawback was that I didn't feel that Japanese courtesy and welcoming behaviour during the service. Will visit again for the food.

This resturant has great food, especially their sushi. However the service is on the slower side and the traditionally japanese floor is limited to a few seats downstairs. The section upstairs in comparison was rather small and slightly stuffy. Still would recommend the place for the great sushi platters (tuna, salmon and hamachi)

Mount Fuji Restaurant in Delhi is the best place to have Japanese Food , and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Every time I'm in Delhi, I make sure I visit this place for my dinner. This hidden gem transported me to the heart of Japan with its incredible Japanese cuisine, authentic taste, and impeccable presentation. From the moment I stepped inside, the restaurant's ambiance exuded an elegant yet cozy Japanese charm. The traditional decor, soothing music, and attentive staff set the perfect stage for a memorable dining experience. Now, onto the star of the show – the food. Fuji Restaurant truly excels in delivering the essence of Japanese cuisine. The menu offers a wide array of dishes, from sushi and sashimi to tempura and ramen, catering to both sushi connoisseurs and those looking to explore the diverse flavors of Japan. The sushi was a highlight of my meal. Each piece was a work of art, showcasing the freshest fish and perfectly seasoned rice. The delicate balance of flavors and textures was a testament to the chef's skill and dedication to authenticity. The sashimi was equally impressive, with the translucent slices of fish practically melting in my mouth. It was a pure celebration of the ocean's bounty. The tempura was light and crispy, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to using high-quality ingredients and perfecting the art of frying. And let's not forget the ramen, a bowl of comfort and flavor. The rich, steaming broth was a symphony of umami, and the noodles had the ideal texture. Presentation at Fuji Restaurant is taken seriously. Every dish arrived at the table like a work of art, beautifully arranged on exquisite Japanese tableware. It's not just a meal; it's a visual delight. Fuji Restaurant in Delhi is a haven for Japanese food enthusiasts and anyone seeking an authentic culinary journey to Japan. With impeccable taste, presentation, and a warm ambiance, it's a must-visit for those looking to savor the flavors of Japan in the heart of Delhi
i me myself
This was our first attempt at Japanese food. We are more into Chinese and Korean. We liked the food ...little less of spices ( as Japanese food is) . We had Sushi platter, Prawn tempura, Grilled Salmon and Classic Ramen pork. I loved their Black Rose mocktail. The staff was very courteous. Good location.

Coming back after exactly a year and nothing has changed. Every flavour still hitting the right spot. Had the best Ramen and lemme make a statement when I say I am never gonna get bored of CHICKEN YAKI TORI 💞💞 amzing and relaxing at same time.

The food was very good. Service is a little slow. Needs a more descriptive menu for a non Japanese food lover.

Restaurant: Mount Fuji Location: Middle Circle, Connaught Place, New Delhi I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mount Fuji. New Delhi and I must say it was an exceptional culinary experience. From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was greeted with a warm and authentic Japanese atmosphere. The traditional wooden decor, soft lighting, and soothing background music set the perfect mood for a memorable dining experience. The menu at Mount Fuji offers a wide variety of sushi and sashimi options, as well as other traditional Japanese dishes. I started my meal with a plate of Rainbow sushi and yellow curry and chicken basil dim-sum , and each piece was a work of art.The presentation was impeccable, with vibrant colors and meticulous attention to detail. Main course had chicken tan tan ramen and ended the meal with sweetness of rolled fried ice-cream, incredibly delicious. The service at Mount Fuji was top-notch throughout the entire meal. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to provide recommendations based on my preferences. They were also happy to explain the various ingredients and cooking techniques used in each dish, enhancing the overall dining experience. Overall, Mount Fuji exceeded my expectations in every way. The quality of the food, the attention to detail in the presentation, and the exceptional service all contributed to a memorable meal. If you find yourself in Connaught Place and craving authentic Japanese cuisine, Mount Fuji is definitely a restaurant worth visiting.

This restaurant is a nice find and one of those who has not yet overly indianized the menu and flavor. The menu is authentic japanese. They have introduced some vegetarian options, which is welcome. But the flavor of their non-veg items is very near to Japanese palate. Ramen is better than what I have had in other japanese restaurants in India. Katsu curry is bang on. They have put a twist on takoyaki, but it doesn't taste bad. Will come again sometime to explore other menu options.

It is an amazing Japanese style restaurant, gives very cosy vibe and atmosphere. A perfect place for a perfect date. I ordered veg kimchi here, which was very flavourful. I loved my experience Here!!

Food:- This was my first time to trying japanese food and i can definitely say that it was awesome. The food there was good and soothing. The fuzziness of tofu and ramen was mouth watering. I am glad that i got the time to eat in this restaurant. The best one was the yasai tendon. I personally suggest to try this dish atleast once. Ambiance:- ambiance was good and peaceful. You can also sit in Japanese style there. The lighting and seating arrangement was cleverly done.

A place to have authentic Japanese cuisine. They certainly are a hole in the wall in the middle circle but their menu is elaborate. Loved the pork, prawn yakitori and satay platter. Slightly expensive but overall the taste is authentic. Will visit again.

The only place in Delhi/NCR where u will get close to authentic Jap cuisine...liked the salmon sushi and Yaki Soba though it was little sweet...as my husband had been to Japan many times and as per him the ambience, the sitting and the crockery are all very authentic...must suggest

The maguro was fresh and the tempura was perfect. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Interesting that they didn't acknowledge the little Japanese that I speak after 40 years of eating in sushi bars.

Delighted at Fuji. This was my first visit to a Japanese restaurant in Delhi. I have previously been there to Japan and I am decent fan of Japanese food. The salmon sushi rolls were amazing (5/5). The miso Ramen was almost as the original miso Ramen I had back in japan. Only thing if they could add more variety of Ramen, it would have been great. The Sake was excellent quality and so was the Umeshu. I wish they also had traditional Japanese desserts and tea like tea ceremony of Japan.
YUKTA WADHWA

Best Japanese restaurant in town. The ambience couldn’t be anymore perfect. Traditional Japanese sitting style is amazing. The place is just wow. It’s a must visit. The staff is super courteous. The food is totally authentic. I went with two of my friends and it was an wonderful experience. All of us loved it. The Yaki udon was very tasty. Chicken teriyaki Don was just finger licking. For the first time I tried sushi and I had one of the finest taste. Moreover I am totally in love with Gyoza and ofcourse a special shout out to Miso Ramen. It’s a must try dish. Looking forward to visit again.

Haven't been lately for obvious reasons, but Fuji is hands down the best Japanese food in Delhi. Possibly India. For someone who has lived in Japan, this is the next best thing, and it's not crazy on your wallet.
Taimun Katoch
I tried it for first time thought it taste likeee something that I dont like but it turns out opposite and trust me it's so shocking to know that it's so delicious and the restaurant is just amazing , just themed like japanese culture!!!❤❤❤❤
Delhi On Wheels
The delicious main course, caring staff, but little expensive.

Visited the place during my japanese classes. We were delighted by Traditional Japanese style setting, was surprised to know that Japanese cuisine has quite a lot vegetarian things to offer too.

This Tempura with Gohan and Miso soup was filled with spices and lots of flavors, extremely impressed by the crispy fried vegetables as the side dishes, and the mini sweet dish at the center of the tray.
Simran Suri
You can definitely go to enjoy authentic japanese ambience, the food is not actually japanese, it has a bit Indian taste in it.

We visited this restaurant last month for a lunch for 3. This is a very authentic japanese restaurant in Connaught place. The staff is courteous. Traditional Japanese style seating is available, for those who want to, or else regular chair and tables are also available. It is a busy place so reservations are required.

Coming to the food, everything we ordered was very well cooked and scrumptious. Specially the sushi.

We had wasabi virgin Mary, and Tokyo sling for drinks. Both were good. I would suggest to be sure about ordering the wasabi based drink. You need to know the flavour of wasabi first. We also had a Veg miso soup. That was also good and at the right temperature.

To eat, we had Veg party roll, veg avocado roll, ume kyu maki for sushi. All came with soy, gari and wasabi paste. The wasabi paste was as pungent as it should be.

We also had tofu yasai itane and yoku yasai soba.
All the food was very light and never felt to heavy to eat.

Even better, almost all the items in the menu are illustrated and marked as vegetarian or non vegetarian, so it's very easy to select.

I would recommend this place for an authentic japanese experience.

I've been regularly visiting Fuji for the past few year and I feel the quality has been slightlh deteriorating with every visit. Nothing bad in particular, but the place seems to be loosing it's good old charm. Maintenance and cleanliness needs to be improved. Food is nice. Ramen is my go-to food. Ordered Shoya Ramen, which was nice. Servers are polite though at times lack complete information about the food menu.
Aakash Meshram
Have been going to this restaurant for 2-3years now. This recent visit was a bummer.
The quality of the fish itself has dropped significantly, to the point that Salmon & Tuna didn’t have it’s actually taste at all (was it fake meat or frozen fish instead or fresh?).
The Squid was gummy and chewy (never experienced that).
Hate to say this but it’s not lost this restaurant has authentic charm.
Even in these pictures (1-2years apart) you can see the difference in the cuts and shapes of nigiri sushi & shashmi.
Disappointing.
Jagdeep Kaur
Definitely visit this place if you love Japanese food. They have modified their menu and added a lot more veggie dishes now, so yay. Impressive wine list too. Try everything on the menu ek-ek kar ke; you'd love everything. Recommend the Plum wine.

I loved this place. The staff was courteous, attentive & friendly. Also really liked the food, we ordered sushi platter, ebi tempura & pork with ginger.

The sushi is phenomenal, and the service was even better. We had a great experience and tried a lot of different and unique items. The spicy tuna roll was really good, and was something we have never had before..We are so glad we decided to dine here. Outstanding!

Authentic Japanese cuisine at a restaurant which was on my must visit list for a long time. Food was served very politely in a very Japanese style dining area. Awesome food n calm ambience. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for fans of Japanese food. All the dishes are prepared with excellent ingredients. Arigato Fuji!

I have been Fuji’s customer since 2017 and so far I had great experience but today after having my meal I felt sick as the Katsu curry chicken was not fresh, chicken was hard to chew, curry was cold and overall had a horrible experience.
Shivam Thakur
Maybe authentic did not work for me. But totally hated the miso ramen. Also it was overpriced for the contents it had.

Japenese Cuisine encompasses the regional and traditional foods of Japan, which have developed through centuries of political, economic, and social changes and I have been privileged to have tasted some of it at FUJI.
This place is composed of serenity and provides you with internal happiness. The sitting arrangement is in respect with the japanese tradition and is one of a kind😁
The staff has been very well upskilled and knew how to address to the customer needs. ☺
The food was great especially the flat noodles!
Visit this please for a memorable experience. 🤩
Ps- I finally learnt how to handle Chopsticks 😝

Probably the best and the most authentic sushi we have ever had in Delhi. Fuji has done a really cool job with their interiors, making it look like a true Japanese restaurant. The vibe, the greeting style of the staff and not to miss their chicken katsu curry that blew our minds. Totally worth a visit even though its a bit pricey.

For more such reviews, follow us on Instagram and Facebook: twohangrywomen

If you are a Ramen lover this is the place. It was tasty and smelled delicious. Sushi 🍣 is not something my taste but I loved it here. Very reasonable with a good service place in CP. Even perfect for a small quick dates.

I loved this place. The authenticity of the food refects greatly. We ordered Yakitori Moriwase, sakemaki and butagyoza and all of them were lip smacking. From the ambience to the service, everything is praise worthy. Would love to visit again

Craving for some really good Ramen, we went about searching all over Zomato and found this unique place in Connaught Place hidden in the M Block Market, Fuji. We went and got a booth for ourselves. It's unique in its ambiance in the sense that each Booth is pretty secluded. I guess that's how the Japanese like it because the restaurant was filled with the local Japanese who were talking to the folks that they had brought in with them about how authentic and on-point this restaurant was. With that as our premise, we ordered the Tempura shrimp, mixed Yakitori, Miso & Shoyu Ramen .

The food came accompanied with lightly sweet soy sauce and there was mixed spice powder there on the table itself. Us being Indians of course ordered for the chili sauce, which was a mild version of what we get as momo chutney. The food was fresh and authentic.

The Ramen noodles were average.

We definitely will be back to try their Sushi and the remainder of their extensive menu.
..
.
@rest_in_spice gives it a 3.5/5
Find us:
Zomato (https://www.zomato.com/Rest_in_spice/dineline)
LBB (https://lbb.in/users/ashish-chakravarty-tiptop)

So this place is a bit expensive for a regular college student. But it's quite pretty and serves authentic Japanese food. I only tried sushi and udon noodles and I liked sushi but udon not so much. It was a different different food and ambience wise. Also portion size is a bit small :/
Nilanjana Bhattacharjee
I ordered a char siu ramen and sesame ice-cream. The ramen was the best I've had till date, which I'd certainly recommend.

Situated in CP's middle circle, this restaurant is a gem waiting to be discovered. I would rate this as the best Japanese restaurant in town. Offers the option of traditional Japanese tables as well as modern seating.
Akshay Kirti
One of the finest Japanese restaurants in Delhi with subtle ambience. Prices are slightly on the higher sides but is definitely a place for those who try veg sushi
Sujoya
This is the 1st time I went to eat out alone, as I don't have many non-vegetarian friends here and was really craving for some pork and prawns.. I thought why not give the Japanese cuisine a try.. And by god the food was so finger licking good.. The ambience and staff are equally good.. The place to go if you want to take yourself out and pamper yourself with some good food.. 😋

Ps. There were 6 sushis I forgot to click and had starting eating the yummy delight..

Great! Food was awesome I am a regular customer of this restaurant. Enjoyed chicken momos with friends. They have courteous staff. They don't charge extra in bill.

Value of money.

Today, I decided to have lunch at fuji restaurant in Connaught Place. Although my food experience was good but it didn’t last long once I received my check. Normally I don’t recalculate the amount but today I took a chance and what a chance it was. There and then my experience turned out to be disappointing because they had charged an extra tax of 0.5% on SGST and CGST!
Restaurants in india cannot charge more than 5% of GST tax as levied by the Indian government but fuji had charged 5.5%. What a sham!!!
I felt annoyed and called the manager to ask him about this ridiculous thing but he failed to convince me!
As it can be seen in the invoice, it is clearly mentioned CGST@2.5% and SGST@2.5% of the total amount 2150, which will come out to be 53.75rs each, but they charged 59rs each, without even mentioning it on the bill. When I questioned them, and asked the manager to explain the calculation to me, he started giving me lame excuses and failed to give me a valid explanation about the difference in the bill! All the manager said was that the government is also charging service charge. I checked online and spent a good amount of time to really understand the regulations but no where was it mentioned about the so called “rule” the manager was harping on. It isn’t about the extra 10-15 bucks but about duping the customers. Not only is it ethically wrong but it’s against the law. After this fiasco they have lost me as their customer today. Although a part of me wanted to let it go but I feel it’s morally and ethically wrong for a restaurant to do this to their customers. I would definitely not suggest this place to my friends & family. I hope you all check the calculations and figure this out because cheating the customers is unacceptable especially by a reputed restaurant like Fuji.

The manager Mr.Pushpinder is incredible. He really understands hospitality. The food here is already the best authentic jap food you'll get in India but having such amazing staff just makes it better. Would recommend to anyone for client lunches/dinners if you're really trying to impress!

For some authentic Japanese food you can always count on this place 😊 Sushi, Dumplings , ramen name it and they have it all 😋 the ambiance is very cozy.. they have booth like arrangements. The prizing is on a higher side, but worth a try.

Chefs across the dining area can be heard having casual approach and shouting that’s seemed for sure unfriendly.
We asked the server to make the ramen bows a bit spicy to which we could see the chef shouting on the staff that this cannot be done go and tell them(we the guest).

Best experience ever! The experience was heavenly as I was served a meal fit for God himself. I was happy to see how clean everything was. Easily earned their 5 stars!

Entering Fuji, you feel as though you’re in a different world altogether. The ambience is so unique.

The food was more on the seafood side but I was visiting to give their ramen a try. Which I was happy with.

Although our Dimsums had a raw chunk of chicken in it. and they did replace it But by the Time the experience had already been turned into a bad one.

I wish the staff was more proactive and responsive. As when I informed the waitress about the raw chicken piece in the dimsum she almost giggled. Which is not professional behaviour.

Anyways.

What did I order?

1. Soy Ramen - 4/5
2. Chicken Dimsums - 2/5

⭐️⭐️⭐️

How would you feel if you go out to a fine dining restaurant and are asked to take off your shoes and then led to a table on the floor and asked to sir on your knees on the floor?

You will be surprised; right… And we were taken aback too. But that’s exactly happened when we visited the authentic Japanese Restaurant Fuji in New Delhi recently.

Well, in Japan, Zashiki is a kind of sitting room with minimal décor, covered in tatami mats which has low traditional tables with cushions to sit on the floor. And to give it is patron a real feel, Fuji has a zashiki room along with western style tables and chairs. And to experience zashiki style seating, you have to remove your shoes before stepping onto the sitting area.

Fuji is a Japanese restaurant located at Rajiv Chowk in Delhi treats food lovers to Washoku by bringing the most authentic Japanese food in Delhi NCR.

As soon as we entered the restaurant, we were greeted with "irasshaimase", an expression meaning "welcome, please come in". We chose to experience the zashiki style of sitting and were then taken through a wondrous foodie journey of exotic food preparations presented in the most artistic way.

Fuji Japanese Restaurant is a gastronomic odyssey to Japan delivering scrumptious experience of Japanese food and ambience. From the rare ingredients to the cutlery, everything at Fuji is handpicked and imported straight from Japan.

Just like other oriental foods, we know very little about traditional Japanese meal and its flavours too. Normally, Sushi is the only dish that we associate with Japanese. But there’s a lot more. Chefs at Fuji try to give an enriching dining experience where guests enjoy unparalleled cuisine.

Japanese cuisine encompasses the regional and traditional foods of Japan. The traditional cuisine of Japan, washoku is based on rice with miso soup and other dishes; there is an emphasis on seasonal ingredients. Dishes consisting of fish, pickled vegetables, and vegetables cooked in broth and also deep-fried in a light batter, as tempura are often served. Apart from rice, staples include noodles, such as soba and udon.

Fuji offers an meticulous Japanese menu full of array of enticing assorted platters, Teppanyaki, Soups, Rice Bowls, Ramen, Sushis and authentic Japanese meals. The rare ingredients used in Fuji’s kitchen are imported straight from Japan. There are over a dozen nigiri sushi options including eel, salmon roe and the famous Tamago (Japanese Omelette).

At Fuji, food is as much about the preparation and presentation as it is the food itself. A great deal of thought has gone into every item served. We also found the staff very polite and helpful; they helped us choose a combination dish which incorporated all special japanese cuisine dishes.

If you want a perfect Japanese experience then Fuji is the right choice ,

What a place! Japanese cuisine like their culture, believes in minimalism.
So great ingredients are bought together using simple recipes and presented tastefully.
Fuji Japanese Restaurant is an authentic representation of the rich Japanese food culture.
The low traditional seating, the greatly brewed Matcha and fantastic food are enough reasons to visit this place. Additionally the very knowledgable and friendly staff are a wonderful plus.
If you like Japanese food you should go.
If you don’t know Japanese food, you must go.

Arregato!
Been to this place couple of weeks back and trust me when I say I am in love with this place. Visiting fuji was an experience that i will not forget...it was calming and relaxing. It was my first experience of Japanese food so far and it was an excellent one.
I loved the ambience, brilliant staff and delightful, appetizing food. I ordered Ume kyo Maki, Kake udon and Wasabi Virgin Mary and I totally, completely loved it.
Ambience 4/5
Food 5/5
Drinks 5/5
Staff 5/5

I have two words for this place -- fresh and authentic. I am a massive sushi fan and of all things Japanese. I could live on sushi and gyoza for days. Had heard a lot of great things about this place from all our friends and so was finally here for a lunch date with the husband. So so blown away. Could be a little steep price wise but definitely worth it.
