Review Minar Restaurant - New Delhi

srinu vas
Wow, I recently had the pleasure of dining at Delhi Pavilion and it was an absolute delight! The flavors in their dishes were incredible, bursting with authentic Indian spices. The service was top-notch too, with friendly staff who made sure we had a great experience. I highly recommend trying their biryanis, they were so flavorful and aromatic. And don't even get me started on their butter chicken – it was out of this world! The cozy ambiance added to the overall charm of the place. Delhi Pavilion is definitely a must-visit for any Indian food lover. Can't wait to go back!

If you are going to Connaught Place then definitely visit this restaurant once. This is a family restaurant, you will find the delicious food here very tasty. The non-veg food here is very tasty. Their prices are also very reasonable.

I read the review of Danai Spa before I made the booking. I did expect a 5 star service based on the review. I requested for a little birthday surprise (to be paid by myself) for mom but I didn't expect the team arranged a surprise with a decent birthday cake and refused to take my money. The team not only providing basic customer services. They try their best to ensure the tourist who don't know the place well to have a pleasant trip like arranging a ride for us to a local durian stall.

So I recently went to Minar and I had a terrific experience. It was my anniversary and I decided to go there with my family and also called my friends. The place had a great vibe and I loved the food and it's presentation.

I recently visited this place for the first time. The ambiance exuded elegance with a touch of antiquity. They offer both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, and as a vegetarian, I tried their veg dishes for dinner. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. You can definitely bring friends and family here for a wonderful time.

We were looking to have lunch in Delhi as it was a short stop, and thought of visiting this restaurant to try out their food. We ordered veg and non-veg both. However, as a vegetarian, I am writing about my part of the order. The paneer makhani was a rich orange gravy tempered with traditional butter. The paneer cubes were big, juicy, and soft and had nicely soaked up the gravy flavor. The restaurant also ensured not to add any capsicum and garlic, which was great as it was according to the special instruction I had put in. The masala papad was delicious. The papad was thin and crispy, with a generous garnishing of chopped tomatoes and onions topped off with some red chili powder. A perfect complement to the sabzi. Lastly, the butter naan. Soft and delectable. As its name suggests, it had a delicious stream of melted butter running across both pieces of the naan. Coming to non-veg food, those who ate it too were quite satisfied with the taste and quantity. The restaurant in itself gives a rustic feeling, yet the ambiance is excellent. All in all, the food was delicious, and the quantity was worth the money. I would definitely recommend trying out the food here.

Visited this place few days back for the first time. It has the elegant ambience with the touch of ancient look. Yes they serve both veg and non veg. Being vegetarian i tried their veg items for the dinner. First we ordered veg seekh kebab and dahi kebab for the starters and for the main course we ordered, veg korma and malai kofta with khasta roti. And everything was so good and tasty. Yes they've two separate sittings, one on the ground floor and a small sitting above that. Overall it was a good experience. Yes you can come here to have a wonderful time with your friends and family.

The butter chicken is OUT of this world. The aroma, the taste, the texture - everything is just perfect. And in my 30+ years of visiting this restaurant - nothing has changed in terms of the taste. Love it and highly recommend it.

Not a place for kiddos who are looking for so-called happening ambience, loud music, and crass crowd. This is definitely a place for old school guys who like the slow ways of life, who like to engage in soulful conversations over a mug of beer or a glass of whiskey. Food is awesome and is definitely for those who are looking forward to eating and making merry. Try their Chicken Pakoda, best mushroom tikka ever, butter and kahadi chicken, and of course Afghani chicken and many more. Must visit in CP

The food was not upto the mark. We realised the food was not fresh, even we asked waiter to replace the raita we ordered. Since, its Corona time not many people are vising, so the crowd was very less thats why thought the food could be fresh. Overall, an average experience. Corona- all sanitization processes are being followed there.

Having heard much about this restaurant, I finally got to taste their food. I have to say the place has a warm and family kind of touch to it. As soon as you step inside,
you get the vibe of a vintage place. Coming to the food, I absolutely loved their preparation of even the simplest of delecacies; the aroma of whole spices and ancient recipes can be felt in the first bite itself. The quantity too is pretty generous. Overall, a good experience
.

Worst food and total waste of money....
We ordered daal makhani, kadai paneer, malai kofta rice but all food is stale and no taste.... Dhaba food is much better than there.... Big disappointed
Satish Kumar Ishpunani
Padam singh Rawat super server मज़ा आ गया कई साल बाद भी maintain
Arsh Aggarwal
Very bad experience.....had heard a lot about their butter chicken - was a big let down. Chicken was watery.....would not recommend.
Nibha Gupta
Visited there with family to utter disappointment.
Food was distasteful and lacked presentation. Whole meal was just a sad affair. Overheard an issue on the next table about finding a bone in a vegetarian item. Couldn't eat rest of the meal post that incident.
Ambience definitely needs a re-do.
Service was okay.

This place is great, I like the food here and the atmosphere, it's not a fancy resturant but the food is great and the price is perfect. A good place to go out with family
Tushar Aggarwal
First the restaurant was too compact and overcrowded.
The tables were of very small size.
Utensils were of low to poor quality and weren't cleaned either.
Paneer makhani tasted sour and plain naan was was not fully cooked and stale(exaggeration).
Instead of giving tissues they gave towels which is not at all hygienic.
Service was moderate to low.
Not everyone was in uniform.
No standard and hygiene was maintained which is the least expected from a decent restaurant.
The vibe was more of a dhaaba.
Foodie Yogita Jaelwal
I used to visit MINAR since my childhood days with my family. The place is extremely well maintained and food is amazingly delicious. This time I ordered my favourite butter chicken and kadai paneer.

Butter chicken was perfectly cooked, super tasty, very soft and flavorful.

Kadai paneer was delicious and gravy had a good balance of spices.

Over a very perfect place for hang out with friends and family.
Highly recommended..!
Lalit Thadani
Mutton sheikh kebab. Here the secret is the mutton well mixed and fried which gives a wonderful taste. Well served with green chutney nd onions.
Saurabh Jakhar
Happening place, sound and pleasant ambience.
Crowded atmosphere speaks itself for food and quality offered.
Serves 🍺
Good choice to hang out with your friends and family.
Aasheesh Kumar
Don't ever go for their Shahi Paneer !! Never ! It was the worst shahi paneer I ever tasted. It is neither shahi paneer, nor paneer masala, nor paneer makhani. It is a weird combination of all three. I enquired from waiter before ordering. But he knew nothing. Money down the drain.
Nan,and butter rotis were good. Onions were horrible. Just sliced onions with chutney as in a dhaba. No vinegar onions. They provided green chillies when specifically asked.
Avoidable.
Tushar Gupta
I used to love their palak paneer and dal makhni with lacha paratha but it was 2 decades back. The experience and flavours are still fresh in my memory, w'd vsit them sm time this year and wish they still serve the same quality.
Inderpreet Kaur
Food is good , but the waiters dont know how to speak politely
Shivoy Pandita
Mutton Rara - Top notch
Chicken Rara - Delicious
Chicken Curry - Unique and wonderful!
The plates could be cleaner and service could definitely be better. Apart from that, I would go to Minar for Indian cuisine every time I am in CP.
Yuvraj Narula
This is really a gem of place for non veg lovers. I am visiting here since 1992, so almost 27 years. Butter chicken and chicken pakoda still the same since 27 years. Everything about this place is just awesome. I must say that they serves the best Butter Chicken in Delhi.
Aaron Anshu Lawrence
Firstly, the ambience is regal and makes you feel like having food in a palace. The food is Rich in flavors and good proton size too. Staff is courteous as well. Tried the Kadhai Chicken with Laccha paratha. Super yummy.
Deepali Mehra
Normal decent place in hub of cp to visit with friends and family
Ambince is nothing special, normal and decent
Food was good thought both veg and non veg
Parul Chopra
Non-veg is fine but rice dishes are really bad. Don’t try fried rice or biryani. They are Chinese food but taste and flavour is not as per the expectations.
Parneet Chadha
Best place to have Butter Chicken and Chicken pakoda...I m coming here from last 35 yrs...they have the same taste till today...🥘🍺🍺One must go to this place and have a food🥘🥘🥘

What to say about this restaurant everyone knows that it’s a famous restaurant for Indian cuisine
Me and my husband since the time we started dating and till yet after marriage every month we started craving for this taste which till yet none of the other new restaurant has beaten it. I love to eat chilly chicken dry with garlic naan my favorite and my husband prefers dal makhni and butter chicken. This is our fixed menu till date. If someone loves anything out of these four thing than u r missing something.
Paras Singh
The ambience is good, service is great and food is delicious. We visit Minar at Connaught Place at least twice a month. keep up the good service. (y)

Wow writing an average review for one of Delhi's oldest and a landmark restaurant is definitely a pain but I think in catering to the higher number of customers the quality has gone down. The curries we ordered were just average nothing Minar types special. The hygiene was the biggest let down. Dirty plates and the napkins were just to feel sorry about the state of the restaurant. Nah won't visit again.
Meghna Datta
Given 3 star because its a very old restaurant. They need to upgrade the interiors. The food was ok, nothing extraordinary. Prices were too high. Staff were polite.
Ashwini Dalwani
Everytime I visit Delhi, I make sure that I have enough time to visit this place.

Best items from the menu:
1. Butter Chicken
2. Rarha mutton
3. Chicken pakoda

A must visit.
Sanyam Garg
Open till late in the night, fast service and a good ambience adds an added magic to the food.

Our order:
Butter chicken (Boneless)
Chicken tikka
Butter Naan.

Everything was delicious and perfect in taste.

So...GO KILL THAT HUNGER!

Milan Sharma
Food is awesome! Little crowded which is a good sign but bit over loud too. Paneer butter masala and butter chicken was outstanding out of what all was order. Most of the food to Bhappa is prepared here and delivered there. In a way.. bhappa is the extended counter of Minar!
Avi
Best place to have butter chicken in delhi very very buttery ,creamy and differenet in taste U can also try there fingerlicious daal makhani , chilli chicken and garlic naans 😋😋😋😋
Rishabh Chopra
Just love their food all together, be it appetisers main course, they have some what delicious food. And drinks are very reasonably priced.
Chilly chicken dry one of my favourite + mutton rogan josh.

This is located in outer circle of connaught place.
Visited here yesterday for dinner. This is quite old outlet, interiors are simple and table and chair are quite small which i have found comfortable.
Had chicken pakora which was good in taste.
Henna Rahul Malhotra
This review is based on both the restaurant and also the delivery order there famous butter chicken is worth a try also dal makhni and chilly chicken I love butter chicken and the achar they serve with it it’s the best achar a must must try
Saurabh Singh
Visited for celebration and the food was not so good snacks were still fine but main in course dal had excess salt n vegetables were over cooked won’t recommend

Childhood favorite memories from this restaurant of dining and even takeaway dinner sometimes ... it’s deteriorated it’s quality and taste in the past few years and we stopped craving from this restaurant but few months back we heard that it’s again having the same taste back and we surely placed an order for delivery with swiggy and to our surprise the taste was back again
Butter chicken boneless with Pudina parantha and butter naan
Dal makhni & malai kofta and paneer tikkas in the veg
Same old onions and pickles
All tasted yum and we gain relived our memories just missed the dine in
Thanks for getting the same taste back again
Chicken soup was bland though it needs to get back to its original taste yet
Rest options are still to be tasted

Minar was the preferred restaurant that we used to go as kids with our parents on special occasions. My fav dishes were Dal Makhani and butter chicken boneless. And the dishes never disappointed.. Always the same consistency.
I decided to revisit the childhood memories again and landed at Minar. My bro-in- law was in town and we wanted to have a good Punjabi food and possibly the best Dal Makhani in town
We ordered fish Tikka, Dal Makhani, Butter Chicken Boneless and garlic Nans.
Fish Tikka- 2.75/5. Made of Singhara fish. It should have been more crispier. Some more time in tandoor at high heat was needed.
Dal Makhani- 3.25/5. Dal Makhani was okay..Prep was good. It lacked cream though which would have made it better.
Butter Chicken- 3.75/5. Butter Chicken was good. The gravy was yummy. Chicken pieces were okay. They however lacked the smokey flavour. The gravy also should have had a bit of sweetness added to give it that extra bit!
Garlic Naan- 4/5. This was the best part. Garlic Naan with the taste of real garlic and cooked with love. 2 pieces were slightly undercooked which we returned.
Overall -3.25/5.
Well our quest for Best Dal Makhani was not full filled. However I would still return to Minar to eat again some other time.

What to say about this place. Coming here from last 25 years and still the taste is same. There Tomato Paneer and Butter Chicken is speciality.
A perfect fine dine outlet in Cp. Very prompt service and the food is just awesome. Chicken curry is like you could not resist. Superb Dal makhani .Must recommended for food lovers.

I have been there last weekend the food was really amazing I have ordered butter chicken it was very delicious it was very fresh and nicely cooked The ambience was very good the staff was very polite and helpful my overall experience was very good
Been here after a long time, almost after 10 years and must say it is still good bt not like as it was before. The place has lost a bit of its charm. However still a recommended place to have a good lunch or a dinner. The service was good and so the ambience. The food preparation here is made in Mughalai style so things we ordered had too much oil floating on top of it. Honestly I don’t have problem with the oil but my friend who went with me didn’t eat being a health conscious person and was not aware of Mughlai food. I would like to visit here again being a mughlai and nonveg lover.
Varun Badhwar
I think when it comes to Mughlai cuisine, nothing comes to my mind but Minar! Minar has been one of the most frequented restaurants for me and when you really want to eat some soul satiating food, I head to Minar. Best place to have butter chicken, how can I miss their specialty chicken pakodas. I absolutely devour the food here and have recommended this place to so many people. I recently tried the deserts and loved the Gulkand with Ice cream and their special tutti fruity! Keep up the good food tradition guys!
Yash Raj
Worst restaurant because they served very poor quality of butter chicken and the service was also not very good and the taste and quality was not according to the price of the restaurant.
Varun Sharma
Old world charm meets Yummy food.. That’s Minar in a nutshell.. The waiters are old but the service is great.. From Dal makhni to Tomato Paneer to the non vegetarian fare of chicken curry and fish fingers you will keep on licking your fingers.. The ambiance can be upgraded but it’s not necessary
Komal Singh Cheema
No doubt food was good.
Tasty and delicious.
But other den taste few disappointments also.
Firstly ac was very cold, requested 2-3 times to increase the temperature but staff said v can’t change temperature it’s fixed.
It was difficult to sit in that temperature.
Other then that everything was fine.
Apoorv Chaturvedi
This is the worst place you can choose to go. The waiters need VRS and the host needs to be extradited . The management probably has a set clientele who are used to be disserviced. AVOID AVOID AVOID
DKB
Perfect place to have the yummiest Food of DELHI.....Must try’s r Butter Chicken,Brain Curry(One of the Best),Afghani Malai Chaap,Mutton Soup,Dal makhni,Chicken masala,Rogan Josh
Ibad Hanif
Timeless either is beauty or restaurants like these. The rustic ambience and people but the taste is eternal.

If I have a meeting in cp where the ambience is not an issue then this is one of the places I would choose.

My picks
Chicken pakoras no one is even near them.
The keema Pav
And the quintessential dal makhani with
The butter chicken.

The verdict.
A must visit place in cp.
Ayush
good ambience
good food
good service

what more is required for a food joint to have. liked their dal and chicken curry. was worth it. must try it
Navan Khanna
Have visited this restaurant a few times with friends and had a good time on most occasions. The food here is decent and the service is quick and attentive.
good extensive menu and there is something for everyone for sure.
Worth a visit If you are in the area

Vistied this place with my family.. perfect place to dine in with family.. located in CP.
It serves food with good taste and ambience is nice.
We ordered panner tikka, chicken tikka, kadai panner, brain curry, butter naan, garlic naan and lemonade all are good in taste..
Ambience:- 4/5
Service:- 4/5
Food quality:- 4/5

This place has lost it's charm totally. Food just average.. not worth the price at all.. we ordered honey chilli 🥔.. potatoes were boiled n then they were fried in oil.. dal makhani was too salty.. chicken was not worth at all..never had such bad experience
Dheeraj Gupta
Food lover must visit this place, get to experience the old Connaught Place restaurant aura. Great food, biryani is superb. Love to visit again for good food

As far as I remember i have been goin to minar from past 24 years
Butter chicken tastes still the same
I dnt remember when i last looked into the menu to order food
We always order the signature dishes
Keema Anda, Butter Chicken and Saag Meat

Lip smacking food
Jitin Mathew
This place has an old-world charm to it and must be visited for their heavenly Dal Makhani. Even though we ordered quite a spread...composed of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, but what stood out was the Dal Makhani which is served in a miniature brass bucket with a taste that's out of this world.
I was introduced to this place by a friend of mine whose father has been a regular at Minar for over 20 years. In his own words, "You can't afford to miss the Butter Chicken and Dal Makhani at Minar".
Gourmet -Delhi
Food which deserves more than 5 stars . Butter chicken , Kadhai chicken , Tangri kabab,Dal makhni along with great offer on beer makes this place a must visit for Mughlai /not h indian food lovers
Best food you will taste in Delhi
Varun Sehgal
One of the oldest places I can remember from my childhood days, also the finest when it comes to fine dine. Had the all time favourite CHICKEN PAKORA as starters and the same old magical taste is still maintained. For main course ordered butter chicken and butter naan to go with it, not that great. You can find better places in and around CP to have butter chicken. Ambience is still the same old classic dine dine types with dim light, also don’t forget to cash in on 50% off on select liquor before 8:00pm, perfect company for chicken pakora’s.
Sandeep Panesar
Hospitable and friendly staff,
Very nice service
Well cooked and spicy food
Ambience needs and upgrade
Awesome dal makhni is a must try and must have at every order 👍
Delhi Foodie
I loved this place since so many years. N never got disappointed. The food taste is jus so amazing, no one can beat that. Ambience is family friendly. This is our favourite family restaurant. Our favourite is tomato paneer n makhni dal.
Amardeep Singh
I heard about this place from one of my friends.
But i was totally disappointed with the food quality.
A dhaba would be 1000 times better
I ordered chilli chicken which was literally like raw chicken with sauces over it
Then chicken burra, totally burnt
Finally ordered chicken curry which was like chicken in water
Worst quality ever
Had virgin mojito which literally was even poor as compared to a roadside lemonade.!
First and last visit
Madhur Satija
Overall, it is a perfect place to dine in with family. It serves food with good taste and ambience, and quick service. Prices are quite high compared to other restraunts, won't say totally worth it but good for an experience.

Food- 3.5/5
Quality & service- 4/5
Prices - overpriced
Ambience- 4.5/5
Quantity- 4/5

Ordered-
Butter chicken- 3.5/5
Chicken tikka- 4/5
Butter naan- 3/5
Kulfi- 3/5

Isha Soni
This is one of the old fine dining restaurants in central Delhi. I remember visiting this place frequently during my childhood days when we used to stay close to cp. But, this visit was after ages, like 7-8 years. The moment I entered I started feeling nostalgic. There were only 2-3 tables occupied. We ordered tomato soup, chicken malai Tikka, Paneer Makhani, and butter Naan and 1 kingfisher beer in alcoholic beverages.

Tomato soup, perfect combination of sweet and tangy.

Chicken malai Tikka ohh heavenly, melts in mouth taste, so soft so juicy. Perfectly marinated and quantity was good too.

Paneer Makhani, was not really Makhani, but was really good. Soft paneer fried and not so spicy gravy.

Butter Naan were I think the best butter Naan that I have ever tried in my life. I usually don't prefer Naan and usually go for tandoori roti. But I think this time it was the best choice I made. Little thick, so crispy and overloaded with butter.

I would love to visit again and again and that too frequently.
This is apt for family visits, celebrations, or reunion. They also have happy hours during week days from 12-4, I think.

Hemanshu Sardana
Minar has the perfect taste of Butter Chicken! One of the preferred and oldest restaurants of Delhi to have Butter Chicken that will satiate your taste buds! It won’t leave you disappointed..
Kainaz Daver
This restaurant is apparently one of those iconic restaurants in delhi which has been around since our grandparents were kids.

On my visit to delhi I wanted to eat typical delhi food so my colleagues took me to this place.

Like always, I read up reviews on Zomato & the saw the recommended dishes.

We ordered all of the recommendations which included dal makhani, butter chicken, mutton rara, chicken pakora & added tandoori chicken & lassi along with the rotis.

The food was absolutely delightful. Heavy is an understatement but extremely tasty & a meal that you just want to curl up & sleep after it’s done.

I can understand why it’s an institution & has stood the test of time. A must visit if u enjoy Mughlai food.

Arpit Augustine
had planned to visit bappe de dhaba which is across the street from minar. But unfortunately it was packed. so headed to minar disappointed. but soon the disappointment had vanished. The butter chicken is legendary. When spoke to some localites they say that the butter chicken at bappe da dhaba and minar are almost the same. so a nice place to eat with your family and friends.
also serves alcohol which is a bonus.
Priyadarshini Barkataki
We found out this restaurant by chance and I'm thankful we did. The ambience is wow. The food, AWESOME. We ordered butter chicken and Tawa roti. The service was fast. One thing that bothered me is the attitude of the waiter. He was super grumpy.
Still, will definitely go there again.
Bhavya Mitra
Visited this place with my family once late night. They were courteous enough to serve us after closing time. Good North Indian n Mughlai food. Though it was heavy but tasty.
Juhi Sharma Jolly
This place serves the best butter chicken, no arguments.
One of our friends introduced us to the holy grail, we ordered chicken pakoda(4/5) which were juicy, soft and had bangs of flavour. The butter chicken(5/5) has a distinct flavour of butter, and is one of the creamiest I've had in a while. The Dal makhani (4/5) is rich and tangy, yet not laced a garam masala. The other exceptional offering is the Garlic Naan(10/5), the smear tons of garlic offer to bread, and do it in butter!!!!!
The ambience is nice and warm, perfect for families and friends.
Bimit Verma
A college batchmate introduced me to this restaurant back in 2007 and I have been fan since.
If you love dim ambience and fine North Indian meal, you'll love this establishment surely.
I have tried most of their dishes since my college days and my personal favourite is Butter Chicken which I always order whenever I visit CP.
Shiva Gandhi
the ambience is slightly old stylist, but all such things take a back seat when it comes to food. My favourite place when it comes for Indian food. Everything on their menu is my favourite be it malai kofta (so creamy, soft and filed with nuts), pindi channa (perfect balance of spices), miss roti, garlic naan; everything that was ate was perfect.

One highlight that I made an impression (also destroyed the experience of having the same dish at any other place) is peanut chaat. I am fond of replicating hotel dishes at home, but this is one thing that I can not dare to replicate.
Anushka Mehrotra
Minar Restaurant is located in Connaught Place, Delhi. The restaurant celebrates the comfort food of North Indian and Mughlai, its richness and thick aroma that has stayed intact with the passing time. The various spices and rich gravy preparations provide an enlightening experience to all the diners.
------------------------------------------
We ordered Dal makhni, chicken curry 🍗
Legendary chicken curry was freaking unbelievable, with crispiest butter naan and masala pyaar. 🤤🤤🤤👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
Totally worth it. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
If you're simply craving for Mughlai fare, then this is a great place. 🙌🏻

The best Chicken Pakora I have had that has maintained that same taste since my childhood!❣️

One must try the Chicken Pakora here, and definitely they will feel the difference!

This restaurant has been popular since many years for its Butter Chicken and is surely a one time visit!

Ambience- 3.5/5
Service- 4/5
Food- 4.5/5
There was no presentation of food, bread were not that soft to eat, dishes were not properly cleaned, hand napkins were dirty and smelly , there was no taste and it was not up to mark and expectations and not worthy

I have been to this place for more than 5 times already (only for lunch) and love their menu and food is delicious and fresh. Service is great and menu is totally affordable.

Definitely going back again.

This is the only place I go to whenever I am in Connaught place. I like the old world feel and the waiters are courteous and quick. My 2 favorite dishes here : the legendary Chicken Curry it's known for and the Keema Mutter. Not to forget the crispiest Naan and the Masala Pyaz with their secret Masala.

Must visit.

Old is gold. Minar is one place where we have been going since my grand fathers time. Ancient interiors, old staff, delicious food, after have more restro Pandora road, this is my 2nd most favorite butter chicken hotel.
Kavita Bahuguna
CP is the place where business is generally good, but then if one maintains consistency then it is all the more merrier, same is the case with MINAR RESTAURANT, where they have maintained consistency, so have repeat clientele and going great guns.
Although when we entered the place, we found it too dark and felt like going out but then we had already planned to meet there, so decided to be there only.
Had some fantastic BURRA KEBAB, TANDOORI CHICKEN, PALAK GOSHT and BUTTER CHICKEN....relished.
Sangeeta Bahuguna
Minar is one of the iconic Indian restaurant in CP with focus on food and its been consistent for decades so are able to maintain a dedicated client base.

Have been there for lunch day before and really relished the chicken tikka and mutton seekh kebabs. In mains we tried their hot selling butter chicken n mutton saagwala and enjoyed it with tandoori chapati and lachha paranthas. Both the gravies were delicious and very different from the regular sweetish and rich ones . Not as great as expected. Service was slow. Not sure I would go back as there are much better options in the city. good food quality and pricing. Great for friends but not entertaining clients.

It was an unplanned lunch but it turned out to be one of my favourites.

Best Best Best butter chicken I have ever had. I even took my friends here and they went crazy for the butter chicken. I haven't tried anything else out here, but I guess, I will surely do it soon, and then will share another review about it.

I heard a lot that its butter chicken is amazing.
Don't waste your time n money .
Butter chicken was like chicken n tomato soup with tadka .
The place was like it was constructed in 1800s and the food tasted like road side truck driver dhabas .

No value for money n pathetic taste .
All I can say is old is gold . Childhood memories revisited after eating from Minal . Thanks for maintaining d same taste and quality of food .

Butter chicken was oily. A bit spicy for me personally. Chicken pieces were small. It took hen like 30 mins to get ready so a bit slow service. Decor is really getting faded!!

This has been my favourite place since childhood. The Dal Makhani and Chili Paneer is of stellar taste. Service could be improved upon.

The ambience is quite sorted for an evening meal. Music is also maintained on the soother side.

I heard a lot about your butter chicken so especially went to try it... received white butter chicken, terrible taste of both butter chicken and chicken tikka masala

Disappointing to the core!
Last weekend we were in CP looking for a North Indian dining place for lunch. Through Zomato we stumbled upon Minar and thought of giving it a try.
First, the place is so dark that it puts your mood off. In broad daylight when someone is looking for a vibrant place for lunch, this is definitely where you should not go!
Second, the food is pathetic, loaded with oil and bad in taste. We ordered for a Paneer and Mushroom dish. While the Paneer was ok, the Mushrooms were literally drowning in ghee. When we approached the owner who was by the way sitting at the counter regarding our complaint with the dish, he did not even pay attention to it. To quote the conversation - We said 'we have a feedback that the Mushrooms are too oily', he said 'haan its ok'. That's all. I'm quite taken aback that if this is how the owner behaves, then what else can we expect from a restaurant?
Our afternoon was spoiled and we suggest you shouldn't spoil yours by visiting this place.

I really enjoyed this place. I had the Mutter Paneer and would have preferred it a little less oily, but it tasted fantastic. The naan was great and we also had the Dal Makhani which was very good. We picked a good time to go as it wasn't much crowded.. The prices are also very good compared to many other places in the area. Looking forward to returning!

Bad service, very ordinary food. Completely in contrast against our previous pleasant experiences in the same restaurant. Extremely disappointed.

Very cool, quaint, family style restaurant. Ordered the butter chicken with Naan. Food was great! Service was great. Will be going back for more!

I've been coming here since I've been born, it's my family's favourite restaurant. There's a lot of nostalgia attached to this place but I'll try to write an honest review keeping my sentiments aside. It's one of the best places to have a good, satisfying north Indian meal in C.P. Apart from the usual dal makhni and kadhai paneer which are beyond perfection, butter chicken and rarrah mutton are a must try. You'll find the service a bit slow if you're super hungry and can't resist temptation for long haha! The rates are at par with any good restaurant's, nor exactly pocket friendly but not over the hill.
P.S : While you wait eagerly for your order, binge on onions generously sprinkled with spices and vinegar, it'll make your wait worth it!

Without a doubt, One of the best options for North Indian cuisine in the area. The butter chicken was freaking unbelievable, and we loved the chicken pakora and Mutton Rogan Josh too! Will be back very soon!

Ambience: Good

Service: Good

Food: All the dishes are made in butter, so overall preparation and taste is good.

What to order: Masala Pepsi, breads, Dal makhnai, kadhai paneer, malai Kofta and soya chaap

Exorbitantly priced dishes with less quantity but good taste. A nice formal family restaraunt.

Happy eating!
