A great place for people looking for vegetarian Indian food. The food was simply amazing and each dish was perfectly cooked and spiced. Would recommend this place for family get togethers. They also have a versatile brunch menu on Sundays.
This place is purely a vegetarians delight. The ambience is very nice and peaceful and the food is equally good. Their dahi k kebabs are just melt in mouth and by far the best I have ever had. This place is worth a visit.
Housed in the Ashok Hotel, this restaurant specialises in Marwari and Jain cuisine from Rajasthan. In starters i tried raj kachori , a delectable dish. Paneer tikka was yummy in taste. I tried chana , dal makhni , paneer in the main course , since this is rajasthani restaurant all the things were made without onion and garlic , being a punjabi one cannot think of their meals without these 2 , but we thoroughly enjoyed our delicious meal . In desserts , we had shahi tukda , gulab jamun and ice cream , out of which shahi tukda was my favourite.all in all it was a great experience.
Shraman is one of the rare species of restaurants offering 100% unadulterated vegetarian fine dining experience. If you have a hankering for satvik shakahari bhojan i.e. Pure Vegetarian (without even onion & ginger) then this is the right place for you. During Navratras and Fasts then Shraman is the place for you. It serves everything ranging from Gujrati and Rajasthani dishes to lip smacking North Indian dishes and special Jain-Marwari food. While the cuisine is expected to be authentic Rajasthani, we had quite a good experience with popular Gujrati dishes dishes as well.
Location and Ambience -
The Ashok has to be one of the most strategically located hotels in Delhi. A 25 acre property bang in the middle of Chanakyapuri, for coming to Shraman, one must not enter from the entry gate close to Nehru Park (take the main entry) else you will have to walk a good 800m to reach this restaurant. Shraman is tastefully decorated and exused a Rajasthani appeal. With loads of mirror work and gaudy turquoise color scheme, this place livens up your taste buds even before the first dish is served. The place has good footfall of customers because of the shudh shakahari /pure vegetarian Indian cuisine they offer.
Awesome place .... beautiful decor ... had my wedding anniversary celebration with my family .... great food .... not at all expensive for the kind of experience you have
Ashok was built as a 5 star hotel and remains a five star hotel . I have stayed many times in Ashoka. There is a traditional hospitality that remains.
