The same environment which was 20yrs back... interior design is same.. food is authentic... rotis were of pure whole wheat...thin and crispy as usually people like with chicken... Vegetarian food is also flavourful..There is paanwala outside The Host... known by the name Panditji...We had fire pan.. whosoever goes there please have that pan..you will love it.

Food is good overall . I had ordered tomato soup , veg sizzler , spring roll , dal makhani and paneer tikka masala . Didn’t like the spring roll . Rest of all was nice . Veg sizzler and paneer tikka masala was very yummy . I didn’t like the service too much . There is seating at first floor also so I took the seat upstairs I think that service is not good upstairs and if you take the seat below you will get good service. From upstairs ambience is nice that’s why I had took the seat there . Forgot to take the photos of other dishes that’s why posted only two . Breads was soft .

Had lunch there on 27th May. Three of us accidentally bumped into this restaurant but glad we did. Nice lay out, clean and good ambiance. Wait staff were attentive and food was good. Presentation was good, service was quick and satisfactory lunch. Would recommend to all wanting good food with quite ambiance, in-spite of the hustle/bustle surrounding Connaught Place
Hum or Tum
very decent restaurant for family dinner.
Food was delicious specially butter masala and honey chilli potatos.
Highly recommended this place...

I Visited This Place On This Independence Day To Celebrate It With My Family. We Ordered Veg Wonton Fried, Chilli Paneer & Yellow Dal Fry With Garlic Naan In Main Course. They Serve Chinese, North Indian, Mughlai, Fast Food, Sea Food & Beverages. This Place Is Located At F-8, Inner Circle, Cannaught Place, New Delhi.
Veg Wonton Fried: These Were So Yummy And Tempting. These Were Filled With Veggies And Cabbage. They Served It With Red Chilli Chutney. Their Red Chilli Chutney Was So Spicy And Yummy. I Really Loved Their Veg Wonton Fried. Highly Recommended.
Taste: 5/5
Chilli Paneer: It Was Also Yummy And Tasty. Must Try.
Taste: 5/5
Yellow Dal Fry With Garlic Naan: In Main Course, I Tried Yellow Dal Fry With Garlic Naan Served With Onion & Achaar. Their Yellow Dal Fry Was Amazing And Tempting. Must Try. Garlic Naan Was So Soft.
Taste: 5/5
About The Ambience: Ambience Was So Beautiful. Interior Was Amazing. They Have 2 Floors For Sitting, Ground & First Floor. Seatings Were Comfortable. And It Had A Royal Look.
Ambience: 5/5
About The Service: Service Was Quite Slow. They Have To Improve Their Service. Staff Was So Polite & Courteous.
Service: 4/5
Overall A Good Place To Hangout With Friends And Family. Price Was Quite High But Food Was So Tasty. I Had A Great Experience. Do Visit This Place.

A very decent restaurant for family dinners...chinese is good but their chowmine wasn't that appropriate or say yum. It was kinda regular wrt to the taste. But all over at the wcale of 10 i would like to give 7.5

The highlight of the restaurant is definitely its ambiance and service quality. They have probably one of the best food-service i have seen in a long long time, The guy was courteous beyond compare even in a full restaurant and was always willing to give attention to the customer whenever needed.
The food is also quite good and very fulfilling for the price. The paratha is better than the naan or tandoori roti if you do try it. The paneer butter masala is just awesome and a must-try if you like north Indian food

I really did not like the food very much. I Ordered Veg Hot n Sour Soup. But, it was a bit salty. Also, crispy veggies Salt n pepper, it has mainly the cauliflower and mushroom in it. The veggies were too much coated with cornflour that the actual taste of the veggies was not there.
Minol Amin
Great ambience, good food . Their bar menu is quite limited and they don’t have half of drinks in menu
Manav Chauhan
It was amazing place and the quality of food is very amazing. This is the very amazing place for the family and cooperatives lunch or dinner . This place also provides you hotel accommodation which is clean and comfortable and convenient.

Located in New Delhi's Connaught Place, The Host offers a top-notch dining experience. With a focus on excellent taste and hygiene, it's an ideal destination to enjoy a meal and explore the city's lively food scene in a clean and inviting environment.

We ordered wonton veg and it was so pathetic in taste . We could eat only 20% of it and we left as we could not bear the taste . They did not bother to ask us the reason or for the feedback of the food.
Abhishek Bourai
The manager forced us to pay tip very shameful, despite a bad service. Worst food too !

This was my second or probably third visit to this restaurant...there is as such no ambience it’s just that it is a place where you can spend some time with family... however, pls don’t visit this place ever it’s not worth it anymore! The waiters are rude like anything as if you are eating food for free, they will just come and put the things on your face and impatiently will ask you to eat and get away! They didn’t even let us finish the meal and gave us finger bowls.. gave my bday cake to an uncleaned table... icing on the cake is when I have complained all this to there manager he clearly took no action, didn’t bothered anything. So if you are willing to spend good time with your family this is not the place anymore.
Shikha Chaudhary
One of the oldest family restaurants in CP , F block in Delhi. Visit it for old world charm, hospitality and superbly cooked meals. Serves Liquor too.
Nidhi Bhardwaj
I have been to this place about 2-3 times. I really love the ambience and the decor. The real highlight is actually the decor only. Easy to reach this place as it is in the centre of Delhi. The food is not so great, but the price is on the higher side. Maybe they can lower the prices, or, they can upgrade the food. Otherwise, it is a good choice to dine out.
Rahul
Average place in terms of taste
Vipul Gupta
The place has lost its lusture. We ordered tomato soup, veg clear soup, chilli paneer, veg fried rice, manchurian, paneer lababdaar and roti. The quality of food was equivalent to average street food vendor.
Dr. Foodie
We ordered
Mix veg soup with noodles which was 3/5 in taste n quantity was 5/5
Further we ordered paneer manchurian with veg noodles
Paneer manchurian was 3/5
While veg noodles had desi touch.
Overall all experience was good

Amazing food with amazing ambience also the staff was very helpful and the food was delicious with mouth watering flavors and the seating arrangements were vey amazing overall u should try once

I'm a hotel management student. The ambience of the place is very good but food is average. I ordered fish fingers which were very okayish in taste. Chilli Paneer was my second dish and I promise you, you can have 100 times better chilli Paneer in any Chinese van or Chinese stall (I agree that food here was more hygienic) I ordered Dal tadka which also disappointed me in a way. Chana was my another dish whichh was very poor in taste. Who cooks chana so bad? THE HOST DOES. I only enjoyed the drinks here. We also ordered Mutton Biryani which was like so bland and not at all giving me that Dum biryani flavour. Over all, Host needs improvement in food. Ambience and service is good undoubtedly.
Vasundhara Guglani
If you are looking for a quite place over the weekend, this place could be considered. The ambience is decent.
But the food is not so great. I ordered spring rolls and shredded potatoes, which most places usually get right. But it was sort of disappointing.
Vikas Shukla
The food is just average considering the high prices. However, Ambience is very good and the restaurant is located at a very prime location. The food fails to attract and is simply around average. Service was too late and tardy. Good place to hang and have a couple of beer but the food.
Shreya Thukral
This place is a lengendary place in CP. I ordered Dal Makhani, Paneer and Mix veg with Tandoori Rotis and everything tasted delicious especially Paneer and Dal.
However, when it comes to service, the place needs to ensure that when too many people are seated on a single table they should be quick to make necessary arrangements in terms of providing the cutlery and required chairs.
Chaitanya Kaul
I visited this place recently and i am very much glad that i got to know about this place.
This is a great family restaurant which is located at a prime location.
The ambiance of the restaurant is decent and attractive and the staff was very polite and kind.
Here I ordered shahi paneer and dal majhani and butter naan.
The food was really delicious , it was really finger licking good.
My overall experience was amazing :)

Had dinner here a couple of weeks back and the experience was just okay. The food lacked the flavour we were hoping for and the service was very slow as well. overall okayish experience and not sure If I would return

Excellent ambience and food. Loved the Dal Makhani and Butter Chicken. Must visit in Connaught Place. Cold coffee was awesome too. Overall 5 stars..👍👍👍
Abhinav Arya
Pathetic experience, they served insects in American chopsuey. Chilli chicken was also uncooked. Not recommended at all. I guess the kitchen doesn’t have proper lights!!!
Pratyaksha Trivedi
Visited The Host once as it is one of the oldest fine dining restaurants in Delhi and heard good reviews about it. Though it did not meet my expectations as the vegetarian food I ordered was not as per the expectations.
Tanisha Jain
Genuine, elegant placed in central Delhi area. Food is awesome in taste. Their North Indian and snacks, their Chinese food is delicious and tasty. Good for drinking as well. Like to recommend for families.
Rishabh Chopra
Great food great ambience great cocktails+mocktails.Love to go over here, all cuisines are good over here.Serving past 50 years that too in center of the city.
Tashi
Ordered a non veg platter which was not satisfactory. Also the waiter charged extra I.N.R. 590 plus tax on the bill of alcohol which I didn't notice while paying the bill. Whoever goes to this place check your bills before paying as they tend to fool us and usually we don't check the details. Very disappointed with their unprofessional attitude and fooling customers.
Megha Gupta Raj
Not a great experience, did not found the staff to be very courteous. Ordered a chicken biryani and a drink. my drink was served to someone else sitting next to our table, we got it back by telling the staff and when the other member refused to take telling that he did not order the same. Also, it was a big surprise that the biryani is served all alone and not with mere raita or a salan. the order taker told that we do not serve anything with biryani, you have to order on your own so we ordered vegetable raita which was half the price of biryani. Absolutely a very gloomy ambience and staff. food taste is just a 1 star.
Akshay Malhotra
The HOST is known for its decor. The Host is a good place to have dinner with family, a-bit costly but definitely meeting up the expectations. The food has a great taste and ambience in North Indian , Chinese & Mughlai cuisines. Some of their specialities are Paneer Tikka,Dal Makhani, Paneer Lababdar, Butter Chicken ( sweet but Average),etc. They had some 30-45 mins of wait on a busy days but when you get a table inside you will have good time with the ones.
Savar Malhotra
Really good restaurant have gone with my grand father here to have tea and there famous toast. Must try there north Indian food it's brilliant and there soups are to die for
Shrutika Taneja
Fine dining restaurant for family and friends. Great food . Juicy butter chicken, chicken n prawns talumein soup as a starter, and crispy American chopsy has been my favourite over here . Love the ambience and hospitality.
Yogesh
Food and ambience are good, neat thing is it doesn't has loud music as is the case in many places nowadays, so this is ideal place if you are looking for a quite place where you can have discussion with friends or family. Prices are on a higher side.
Nisha Sharma
One can easily locate this place. Not a huge place but quite spacious. Service is slow. We had to keep on calling the staff to take the order. Prices are high but food is just normal. Someone ordered sizzler and the whole place was full of that spicy smell. Not sure about visiting again
Sultaan Khan
I don't know how can I give them -5 rating, because service is pathetic and food quality like shit and their serving staff is so dumb and unprofessional. I RECOMMEND PLEASE NEVER EVER GO THEIR...It's Better to eat on street vendors atleast have some taste.
Ujjwal Sharma
Pathetic food, service and place..visited there today and had very bad experience in terms of food and service. I ordered veg briyani nd two vegetable soups.. The briyani was served like it is being served to a dog in an open plate and rice quality was cheap like 10-15 rups/kg rice. No salan or chatni was served with briyani..soup was like just boiled water with some vegetables in it without any taste or flavour..delay in order and billing as well. I would advise not to visit this place.
Shyam Mahar
Went there last week with some of my friends we had some hot beverages only. it was great experience. very hygienic place. We like there Ambiance and service. Will definitely visit soon. Thanks team Host.... Keep it up... Cheers
Kanak Rustagi
The food tastes amazing here. The ambience is pretty gopd and the decor makes you go gaga. A perfect place to go to with your family. The average price per person would be Rs. 700-800.
Saurabh Negi
dated decor but old world charm. great service. indian food is good. chinese is average. Good experience but nothing that might pull me back again.
Butter chicken and peaceful atmosphere lover's, this is the place to have one of the bestest butter chicken. It was my brother's birthday last to last week when we came here for the dinner, though we are familiar with this restaurant, but we had the butter chicken for the first time here and it was lip smacking, chicken was sooo fresh. In bread's we ordered butter naan and tandoori roti, and believe me naan was very soft and not at all stretchy/tight like the one's you must had before, roti was very crisp in negative notes for me(as i dont like crisp roti). In veg main course we ordered dal makhani which is undoubtedly my forever order as it is the best after the one i had in Bukhara ITC Maurya.
We had the chicken platter, hot and sour soup veg, sweet corn chicken soup also in starter's. Platter had chicken malai tikka, chicken masala tikka, mutton and chicken seekh kabab, masala fish, and one more thing i forgot :( , everything in platter was succulent and something to make you crave for another call. Hot and sour soup veg was perfect, but sweet corn chicken soup was a disappointment as it was totally tasteless.

Looking for a classic ambience family restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere to make yourself have your food in peace and with good service. Then this is the place to go.

(sorry no pictures were taken of the food)
Hemanshu Sardana
I went to this place with my colleague for lunch. We ordered Chicken Kashmiri and Dal Makhni. Dal was quite normal as expected but was disappointed with the Chicken curry. Too much oil and tasteless gravy. Also we ordered Mughlai Parantha which was not at all like Mughlai Parantha. So they should improve on this part.
AarJay
Very bad service. Service person is very rude. They came to ask for water but didn't served it.
When i asked them for water they gave 3 glass of water but were 4.

I've been going to this place since I was a kid. Butter Chicken, Hot & Sour Chicken Soup and Naan: my routine order every alternate saturday of the month! They were good old days when Embassy served softies and Volga and Host were like Manchester Derby! Honestly I loved Volga more but dad was a Host fan. I aged like fine wine? LOL I dint! But dad's tastes were always better than mine and it took me a while to openly admit the fact. Fish Fingers, to be precise gave me enough reason to make me loyal to Host.

Well, I gave up non vegetarian food a few years later but Host never failed to amaze me. From sizzlers to hakka noodles and vegetables in garlic sauce, from Tooty Fruity to Hawain Delight and from Cutlets to Samosas: everything was mind blowingly awesome. The frequency of my visits reduced as I grew up amidst OTBs and Boombox(s) but the flavour, the consistency and yes even the STAFF at Host did not change! The ambience ( with huge balloon like lights hanging from the ceiling) did not change. The menu, did not change.

Old is gold they say! If you dont believe me, visit the place during late afternoons and if you dont find a bunch of surd uncles sitting on the extreme right table, feel free to walk out. I've been seeing those shopkeeper uncles age like fine wine ( yeah they did) and enjoy their daily coffee at Host, without fail.

Give it a shot and if you're confused on what to eat, ask them whats fresh that specific day and it'll be the best!

Off late there quality and taste has detoriated we were there this sunday and had dinner there..the food taste was horrible.Service was also very poor..soon we realized y the restaurant was half empty while all other nearby restaurants had one hour plus waiting. If they don't improve the food taste and quality it would be on the verge of closure.
Siddharth Seth
Nice ambiance. Food was really good. But I would suggest that they can have a little better staff. But overall a good evening spent with close ones.
Dikshant Gotewal
This place is not worthy at all. We began with Cream of Chicken soup followed by Butter Chicken, Roghan Josh & Vodka. I dont know why Butter Chicken is the most recommended option here. I mean I have had better.
Staff seemed clueless. Food was okayish, overpriced. Otherwise decor is pretty cool.
Rahul Baghel
staff needs to be chnge their behaviour towards customers , nd rate list is high as compared to their services. desserts are delicious but need to change some item's taste.
Tanvika Saini
Over priced and bad quality of the food. Didn’t expect this at all. Sensed a little negativity around them ‘hosting’ customers. What I don’t understand is that why the price is so damn high. They really need to have a quality check. Wouldn’t call it the most hygienic place too.

Finally made it to "The Host" after so much wait due to it being packed always. We got a small seat for 2 in this huge restaurant that too with the help of amazing staff. The best part of this place is their Staff. Managers and other staff members are more than happy to help you generously. I would give a 100/100 for the Staff. Ambience is amazing and calm but we were troubled by a family of 10-12 (Shouting amd screming). Food- we ordered the all time Punjabis fav- Dal makhni, paneer butter masala, naan and laccha parantha - Top class taste and waa served quickly after drinks. On drinks we had Bira blonde and Aristoff Vodka. Prices are sort of high but well deserved for such a service. Overall experience was excellent and I would not deduct a star due to the family issue as it was not the fault of the restaurant. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ROYAL DINEOUT..

Never had an idea this place existed in the heart of Connaught Place. I was absolutely in love with the place. It was a lunch date, I was completely surprised when I was escorted to this place. We ordered mughlai and chinese both with a shake. They have such a wide variety of options to choose from. The place was very quiet and peaceful. The food quantity was appropriate. This restaurant is a bit on the expensive side but worth every penny. Keep it up. Thanks for hosting us!
Highly recommended.
Ridhima
Detergent smell i found in my take away food. Also when I call Mr.Rajesh and Mr.Manu to complaint. The did not take any action. Also stop responding. Very bad experience it was.
Sandeep Pandey
The service is painstakingly slow. Food was good though, nothing extraordinary but good enough. The place could use some renovation to make it more appealing.
Nidhi Bhardwaj
Being there on a date... the date was good and also the food too :) The food is good. the ambience is great.. I will say ambience is better than food ;).. The food was really tasty and mouth watering... located in the heart of the city it is a must try for family dine outs.. the second time I visited here with my friends and they also enjoyed the food and the restro.. the staff is good and helpful...
Alpita Gogoi
Had this amazing Chinese Chicken Chopsuey last week (take away)

So satisfyed with the quantity, also it tasted really really really good. I would love to visit again.

I have been visiting this place for years now and I am very disappointed to say that the place is no longer what it used to be. I used to enjoy visiting here specially for its Dal and panner, both of them being super delicious.

However now the taste has changed. The food is very mediocre and bland. The taste clearly doesn't justify the high prices that they have. Even the ambience is no longer what it used to be. It's very crowded and feels suffocating. I miss the old the host.
Bhishma Choudhary
This place is different from all the youth focussed joints in CP. the visiting gentry is mostly senior citizens. The waiters take their own time. Everybody knows everybody in here. The food here also tastes different from the most restaurants, but its good. The service took some time but the overall experience was ok.
Rishabh Bhardwaj
one of the worst staff in the whole city. The food was up to the mark but the service was not at all good, staff needs to improve their attitude towards customers.
Devyani Aswal
I was there for a casual lunch.
I ordered their popular Navrattan which was a mixed veggies dish with chappatis. Totally loved the preparation. It was throughout creamy and easy to gulp down. (I hadn't order anything to drink so I can tell!) The staff was friendly and accommodating. There wasn't much crowd and the ambience was smooth and fit for conversation. The noise levels were in check, even though it's the IPL season!

oh! and I paid INR 740 for a tummy fill of food!

Also, I loved the hospitality.
Hey Foodie
One of the legendary and the old style dine-in place; located in M Block, Inner circle of Connaught place. This place is highly recommended place and food will not disappoint you. Last weekend I was there for lunch. Staff was good and our visit was also good. Must try their Daal Makhani, Fish Tikka and in drinks their mocktails were really nice. Don’t forget to try Kulfi as desserts. Good place, Good Food with nice ambiance.
Ginni Arora
This place located in F block of central circle of Connaught Place. I’m pretty much familiar with this place from long time from that time to now there are not much changes in hospitality, and this was my third visit to this place; obviously we pretty much like the food. The Décor is really nice and soothing, the menu was extensive and we tried different dishes. We like the mains very much especially daal makhni, bhuna murg and the veg pulao and Veg au gratin must try. Staff is courteous. Some places give you soothing calm experiences this one gives me the same. Although this bit old style pattern than the new style restaurant, but I like this place….
Foodify
The Host, serving authentic food from ages; but the very interesting part is that their serving is based on old style colonial way, so you should keep aside your expectation of modern food presentation or modern ambience; from menu pattern to serving pattern all are in old traditional way but the authenticity and preparations of food were good. The ambience is good with good number of comfortable seating. Service staff was good also. Some legendry place need not to explain much but few point I put up in this review is about the pattern so the people can enjoy their time here without comparing the new style restaurant even such comparison isn’t justified. Now on food, food quality was good. Try their Daal Makhni, Tikka and mocktails and shakes are also nice. Overall it was nice experience for me out there. Cheers!!

When asked about the most popular place in New Delhi, the answer will be Connaught Place by most of the people. It is not because it has ‘place’ in its name but because it has the answer to most of the questions. No matter what you are looking for, chances are, Connaught Place is going to be in every one’s list. This is why CP is a preferred destination for most.

It lies in the heart of New Delhi and considered as the center most point for everyone. No matter where you live, the meeting point accessible and suitable for all is Connaught Place only. And just like everyone else, I am also fond of this place. It takes hardly half an hour from my place and here I get numerous eating options, right from Indian to Continental.

It was a Sunday and I had planned to spend some quality time with my family members. I gave them an idea to go out for Lunch and everyone agreed with me on this. It was supposed to be a family get together so a place was to be selected which was ideal for family and away from loud music and general noise. This is where The Host came into play.

There are three legendary outlets in CP – The Embassy, United Coffee House and The Host. I chose the last one because of its Iconic status and the fact that I have heard a lot of good things about the place from my relatives and family friends. If you are coming via your own vehicle, then it is in F Block in the middle circle. The reach from Metro is also very smooth. Exit at Gate No 6 of Rajiv Chowk and this place is just 50 meters away.

Coming to the place, you will know about the grandness of the place by the entry door. It is huge and built accordingly. This place is running since 1979 which is a remarkable feat considering that most of restaurants now disappear in 10 years. It has seating of around 135 people and spread over two different floors. True to its heritage, the décor is rustic and elegance can be spotted in every corner. We chose to seat in the ground floor near the gate.

Coming to food department, in starters, there was Paneer Tikka and Chili Potato. I am not that huge fan of Paneer Tikka but there was no Malai Chaap present so went ahead with it. It was one of the best I have had in a long time. They were so juicy and tasted incredibly well with the Mint Chutney. Highly Recommended. Chili Potato was lacking in Honey bit was crispy enough to be enjoyed.

Then came Gobhi Manchurian and Tandoori Mushroom. I was expecting something different from Gobhi Manchurian like round balls with grated Gobhi but instead there came whole pieces of Gobhi. Though, it was different than I expected but the taste was nonetheless good. Tandoori Mushroom were on the spicy side but were really good in taste. Recommended.

In drinks, there was The Host Special Shake and Mocktail along with Hawaiian Punch. The Special Shake was a mixture of different Ice Creams such as Vanilla, Strawberry, Butter Scotch and loaded with Ice Cream on the top. It was heavy and to the point. Recommended. They can improve the taste of their Mocktail. Special Mocktail as well as Hawaiian Punch were ordinary.

In main course, there was Dal Makhani, Paneer Tikka Masala, Veg Biryani and Vegetable Au Gratin. Their Dal Makhani is famous all over Delhi and rightly so. It is well cooked and the texture is simply great. Highly Recommended. Panner Tikka Masala was an able ally along with Veg Biryani. Vegetable Au Gratin was ordered to enjoy something Cheesy. It has a layer of Cheese on top along with finely chopped vegetables like Beans, Carrots, Peas etc mixed with White Sauce.

In Desserts, there was Hot Chocolate Fudge, Kulfi and Cassatta. Their Kulfi is really good. It has a rich flavor which is hardly seen nowadays. I even ordered a second one. Recommended. Hot Chocolate Fudge came with Vanilla Ice Cream with Cashews and Chocolate Sauce on top. The quantity was enough for one. Cassatta tasted like it came from outside and wasn’t homemade.

Overall, I am fairly satisfied with my visit at The legendary Host. One of the best when it comes to Indian food but they can improve their drinks a bit. Recommended.
Abhilash Banerjee
The ambience is decorated conventionially and the entrance looks very organised. The first floor is pretty comfortable with spring sofa and then arrives the menu
They have separate menu for bar Chinese and Indian which is very appreciative. I asked for a mutton cutlet, paneer alampannna (very dramatic by the name)
the mutton cutlet was soft and and not spicy and paneer was well cooked
The restaurant is full with families which will definitely give you a homely felling , low volume of music and few Punjabi songs are played by a television which is quite cool. The restaurant makes a solid mark by the quality of food they serve and it is probably one of the few restaurant which can be called as value for money.
The only thing I disliked was the food arrived after 25 mins but u need to have patience for good food and they seem to serve fresh as well
Galaxy Sharma
Food is just okay. I like calm ambience and low volume music when I go for dine in but the music was too high on the tv. Even we were not able to talk at that high volume. Food rates are average. The restaurant is in CP so you will get space for parking your vehicle.

Even from the time I wasn’t born, this place had been one of my parents’ favourites and now mine too.
Some personal favourite items are the Wonton Soup and the Mixed Veg Noodle Soup.
Chana Pindi of this place is one like which I’ve never had anywhere else.
It’s a must go place! Definitely!

taste overall good but service is pathetic.. staff in this restaurant looks like government employees..
prices are very high..
we visited this because zaffran, embassy, MRP (most of nearby restaurants) all were full because of Saturday evening & surprisingly this restaurant was all empty..

Perfect place if u plan a lunch or dinner with your family its a family restaurant so don’t expect for music like another cafe in cp and also best place for corporate meeting 👌👌👌👌

The overall experience at The host was Good, The food was OK, Shakes were good but the customer service was Ok. It is family restaurant as I saw ambience.
Atul Vermani
Waste of time and money... The manager makes such a face that you don't want to sit for long... Poor hospitality and very negative environment... Food made was such as if they have red chilly factory and supply comes free... Not to visit again at all to waste money...
CA Pritika Suri
Nice ambience and hospitality. Must try paneer lababdar if you like white gravy N a bit sweet one..good quality food and hygienically very nice and neat. A must try out with family.
Tania
Very disappointed. This restaurant is situated in inner circle of connaught place but the standard of food was very low. I ordered tomato soup and it was full of tomato ketchup and it was very spicy. I never expected such bad quality with so high price.
Ibad Hanif
Folks this is one of the must visit places in the Connaught Place area.
I would always say that there are 3 iconic places in the inner circle.
1. UCH
2. Embassy
3. The host.
All 3 are good in various aspects but the common things among them are.:-
1. Cona coffee served with whitener.
2. Snacks specially cutlets and pakoras.
3. Some Chinese dishes.
What’s my recommendations besides the above are as follows:-
1. Dal makhani
2. Butter chicken.
Both are stand out dishes and they actually make it out pretty well.
One can order any other Indian dish and would not be disappointed for sure.
The service well you need to be smart to get the right service cos the place has a lot of regulars and they do get preference.
Verdict.
If u wanna sit in isolation and enjoy the inner circle this is the place to be.
The Host... Recommended by a friend to me. Not that great a place to visit. Food was normal. service was good. Bit expensive but is not that great to get hyped for!!
Shivani Wadhwa
A decent looking place with average food...we ordered tea and expresso coffee along with paneer tikka and kebabs...they were tasteless...all in all an ok place for coffee.

The decor is average...however they should really work on revamping food and aura of the place The Host

I have been going to this place ever since I was in school. One of my father’s favourite places and the menu for both vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes is great. It’s the place which serves the best sizzlers.
Deepak Mahajan
The host is one of the best restaurants out there. Not only do they fullfill every single thing you are looking for in your food but the ambiance is amazing as well. Located in cannaught place it is very assesible to reach and an amazing place to have a great time. Must try chicken tangri and mutton.

I visited this place a week ago or so.. this place gives positive vibes as soon as u enter.. u are greeted warmly..the slow music is good and the food was amazing. I ordered 1 veg thal , the host special chicken which was good. The thing i disliked the most is the slow service and somewhat rude staff when we complained about the food.. rest is good !

Here's a restaurant still stuck in the 90s or probably the 80s... Guys come out and take a look at how the restaurant scene has changed all over the country... It's no more an elite privilege. Coming to the restaurant - it was decent. The service and food not so! The steward had an air as if he was doing me a favor by waiting on me... We ordered the non-veg platter... Anything meat can't really go too wrong so it was OK... Though I've had better Kababs at one third the price from the streets. Haaka noodles were just a bit too wet for my liking and the most Indianised Chilli chicken ever... Was fine on the palate but nothing close to authentic... Went in expecting better! B should've guessed wen I got seating on a Friday evening.

The host has the standard ye delicious food! All their preparations are flavorful and delicious. My oick from here were the garlic naan woth Kashmiri Dum aaloo. THey have good portion sizes too! A new thing I loved here was the Khasta roti which was very crisp and had pieces of fennel sprinkled on it.

Very bad service, our glasses were empty and they filled water only when we asked for. They were ready to take the order but not provide. We were given a waiting time of 15-20 mins. First they claimed that the dish we ordered could not be provided for and they returned saying that yes they can. They were kind of a confusion and we were kept waiting for 45 mins or more.

Highly disappointed by the food and service. Visited this place after 10years, instead of improving they have gone down. Food was below standard compared to what they charge. It is Overpriced. Staff is average and looking for TIPs. Neither would go there again nor would recommended it to anyone. Pathetic experience and waste of money.

I've been here with my dad when he had a small reunion with his college buddies and I really liked the classy ambiance and service.
This is the place you can visit for either official meetings or casual ones, they can handle both well

Till now I have visited this place 4-5 times and my experience was pretty good.

I went here yesterday with my family for some celebration and we all were satisfied with both food and service.

Despite reaching late ( after 10.30 at night) when they usually do not consider most of the orders, they provided us with excellent service.

Situated in the F block of cp, this place is surely recommended for family dining.

The interiors are amazing. Quiet place. Not much rush.
Staff was friendly.
We had ordered Chinese food. And it was average.
Some dishes were too spicy while some were very bland.
Prices are definitely high as compared to the food quality (Chinese).
probably the only affordable-luxury-sophesticated-dining in Central Delhi District where food quantity is quite substantial vis-a-vis Luxury pricing xD ................................................... (coz it said that 'ur review shud be atleast 140 character long :p ....... so no 'brief' reviewing xD )

Looking for a fine dining experience at CP tried this place but just after ordering starters we decided to look for new host.... food was horrible .. the only saving grace is the ambience....

HAIR in food just leads me to think what's are the kitchen standards . Returned back the biryani and did not have the courage to reorder .
Keema nan size and taste was good but not the keema quantity .
Butter chicken tasted good with good portion size .
Have some good memories of this place but having a hair in food and just a half hearted apology is a joke .
VISIT AT YOUR OWN RISK .

Don't know why they charge too much. Everything is levid with CP tax😇 staff is average and always looking for TIP. Taste was good for north Indian but being Rajasthani i find it sweet. Not recommend if you earn white Money by working 10 to 5.

Visited the place last Friday after ages. I remember the place being one of the hot favorites during my college days for its excellent food and environment. But it seems that the place has aged over the years and kind of caught into old age syndrome. Everything seems to be at a slow pace, minimal energy, laid back approach, etc.

To start with, on being pointed out that the napkins are dirty, please replace them, the person got into an argument that its not dirty. We had to show them to stains to convince them. And lo! they replaced only one napkin!

It was a birthday celebration and we asked them to put our cake on a plate and bring it. For some reason, the person out there decided that the cake should be cut after the meals are over. I told him, NO. We want to do it now. He again overruled me! It was only the third reminder that he agreed to bring cake. And BTW, it needed another reminder for the candles and yet another reminder for the knife!!

Coming to food, it was plain simple ordinary food with no special taste or presentation or spices. This kind of food is available at every other place.

One last thing, The bar menu is elaborate but most of the items are not available. I had to settle for my fourth option of Whiskey!!!!

What it shows is that the place has not changed with times. They still are living in the old era where "The Host" was a premium restaurant and it was guest's privilege to be eating there! We should have guessed it before entering. On a Friday evening when getting a seat in any CP restaurant is a tough task, the place had only about 30-40% occupancy!

First thing that co.es into mind - Very Overpriced
Gone are the days when eating out at a good restaurant was a privilege for the chosen few. But they seem to be still holding on to that perception.

The only thing appreciable was the quietness.

Went there for our anniversary dinner but the food experience was memorable not for good reason.

Food quality mediocre compared to price. There are n numbers of joints in cp serving much better food at half the price.

In short, extremely slow and pathetic service. Waiters and manager are not responsive. Took ages to deliver. Food is OK but price is on the higher side. Overall, pls avoid this place

Ambience - 5/5
I didn't like the food. We ordered some Chinese food. It was pathetic and we ended up wasting it. I would not visit this place again.
Expensive food with very small portions.
A main course meal would cost around 3000.

Won't visit again. 😅😅

Went there on Friday evening have to say was pretty empty for weekend. So went in a group of about 20 people

Had a mix bag of tasting somethings were good and others well I would not like to have it. Non veg platter could be skipped for chicken tikka which was the only good thing on offer. Chicken tikka masala was ok not amazing or wow as you would expect for the price on offer.

Overall the service was the best part of it. Ambience is was as old as the restaurant they should upgrade it as the competition around is pretty good with all the cafes and bars that are located in the area.

Most of my rating goes to service and the staff which was good and courteous may be that's the only thing saving them.

Worst restaurant ..Bad food..Small quantity ..And high rates . Not even worth trying .Chicken was hard and tasteless.
Bad service even .
Ujjwal Ladda
Rates speaks more then standards here ! Thats the major issue. Taste of food is not bad ! Starters and soups are really tasty . Ambience 3.5/5 ! Try at ur risk

The host is located in C.P . Basically the restaurant is serving North Indian food. The staff is very polite. Prices are moderate. I tried chicken tikka it was damn damn tasty. Overall a place must try.

Crazily expensive, Food portions are too small, Taste is not good, nothing fruitful to take back home. I am highly disappointed. Only the whole feel of sitting there was nice, rest i was highly disappointed!

Went there for a birthday party, the bar and sitting area at mazanine floor is wonderful, Ambience and food is good, service needs improvement, wooden floor needs polish and repairing, staff to be more attentive, rates are good enough as per CP comparision, wonderful evening, one must try there tandoori mushroom and sizzlers.

One of my all time comfy food outlet. Dal makhani is amazing. Love the silence around with traditional glimpse of service. Paneer lababdar With extra spice is a good to have dish. Do not order lime soda- you can get it better elsewhere.
Ankita Jain (The Tummylicious)
This was one place we were regular at for family dinners. A quite place serving delicious food, what else do you need. But with time the quality of food and service has gone down. The staff doesn't take the place seriously. Really disappointed.
Foodie - A Food Lover
Ambiance is good, service is ok but as per the pricing the service is not at all justified, food quality is ok not that interesting could have been much better. Manager sitting on one of the table and doing his work, talking loose with the staffs puts off the impression of the restaurant, after paying so much it gives you feel of as sitting in some local Dhaba, paid almost 5000 for 2 was what which was not worth for the place.
Chavi Thukral
Not at all worthy ! Pathetic service, quality and illiterate staff. Although the ambience and quantity was satisfying but the staff was not at all good in service and behaviour. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone ever.
