We've been ordering from here since good years.. super yummy food.. clean and hygienic packing.. and the service is really nice.
Our favorite is pan fried momos.
Karan Peswani
They provide amazing Chinese & Thai food . I ordered chef special chicken , chilli chicken & Hakka noodles . The food was absolutely fantastic , chicken was properly cooked & noodles were too good . They also pack the food really well .
Ashish Sawariya
This is a very good Chinese outlet in flyover market. I tried drumsticks, veg soup and pan fried momos and the taste was good with good spill proof packaging. A must try outlet for Chinese lovers.
Soumya Pandey
One star less for the chicken pieces being dry. The taste was very nice. This is the review for home delivery. We ordered chicken fried rice, chicken hakka noodles and veg hakka noodles. They gave us vinegar and red sauce.
Karan Khurana
The food is simply amazing. Been here quiet a few times, they always serve fresh and hot food. I have ordered Pan fried chicken momos (10pcs) and they are the best in town for me. The chilli chicken is average you can get better at other places. Veg Spring Roll is also very tasteful and yummy. Though I find Veg Hakka Noodle a little bland. But the chilli garlic noodles are tasty. The quantities of all the items are huge. You can park your vehicle as there is good parking available nearby and have the meal there or can order also.
Highly recommended if you are around defence colony, Lajpat Nagar.
Silver Robbin
Small delivery outlet @ under lajpat nagar and defence colony flyover.
One of the oldest outlet there, authentic Chinese food and it's not cheap.
Amazing packing and food is delicious, no doubt about it.
Only complaint please keep someone educated on phone, who have some manner to talk.
sushant nagpal
Had chicken momos here there are good not too yummy but yes atleast can be tried once , a good place to enjoy chinese food in car
Syed Faraaz
Located at an unusual loaction, under lajpat nagar flyover its a chinese hidden gem in terms of quality and authentic chinese cuiesine.
Very tasty food with reasonable rates earlier they had only pickup otion but know they have a proper seating arrangement as well.
So for a quick bite u should consider the place once atleast, i am sure u ll repeat ur visit.
Sahul
A good place for foodies. I had a good memories from this place. I used to work in Lajpat Nagar and we often order noodles, garlic soup, fish tikka and hot n sour soup from HK EXPRESS.
rohit manchanda
It's good Indian Chinese, but my favorite would be the Pan fried momos, I've not had better and the chilli paste and other condiments are very balanced and nicely flavored.
BhumBhai
this is a small restaurant, difficult to find place on a busy weekend. Its dimly lit, half of it has been closed due to ceiling. Food is mostly Indianized Chinese, not the best, though not bad either. Rates are relatively cheap. It has become a go to place for the youngsters for its drinks and cocktails being on the cheaper side. They definitely need to work on the cleanliness and the overall decor. Better places have come up nearby.
Recommendations: Chicken Manchow Soup, Butter Garlic Prawns, Lemon Coriander Pan fried Fish, Chilli Chicken dry

I think this place is underrated, yes you read it right!
This is one of my favourite restaurants in South Delhi, just because of one amazzzinnng dish! And that's salt and pepper prawns! They are so good with prawns you cannot even think if it. I have also tried chilly pork, prawns noodles, and few more dishes all are exceptional.
This restaurant is always full and there is a waiting mostly on peak hours.
If you're prawn lover, you ought to visit this restaurant and grab your self a plate!
Try their chicken too, I liked it as well.
The staff is friendly, though the place is a bit congested, but that really doesn't matter if you're getting the best food.
Milisha Verma
HOT HOT HOT......the way Chinese food should be ...... or Indianized Chinese ....wtever... just loved the food here. Had sweet corn coup, spring rolls, chilly garlic noodles n veggies in hot bean sauce n loved all of it.
Hitesh Khanduri
First and foremost thing about this place is the ever smiling big moustache watchman on the gate. The way he greets you makes your day.
Visit for cheap booze and good food. Probably the ambience is not so good but the crowd is good over here.
Kushagra Sinha
This is our go-to place for drinks and a fun evening/night. The Chinese food here is amazing and they get the modifications/alterations done just right. You get cheap alcohol here with a lot of options (including amazing cocktails) and it continues to be a nice, warm and cozy place with courteous and friendly staff.
Abhinay Singh
This small pub reminds me of the ones in Pune. Small cozy, tucked away, no charades. The food is good, especially honey chilli potato and fish and chips.
They could though work on there beer brands availability!
The staff is polite and courteous.
Sarabjeet Singh
Well the one thing you went to 4S was for reasonable drinks and food prices.
Only problem now is 4S does not give you IMFL or the beers or the Happy Hour booze on the menu.
Everything is supposedly out of stock so get ready to pay for premium liquor at exorbitant rates or the real cheap stuff.
SMART MOVE BY 4S BUT NOT SMART IN THE LONG RUN.
If this is the new way to flease customers I ain’t going to 4S Ever.
Shivani Relia
Another budgeted place in Defence Colony. Although you can run out of options if you are a vegetarian, but noodles will be your saviour. Don’t order Blue Lagoon. Every else beverage is decent to order. The only thing I found weird was they don’t serve Cosmopolitan.
Nidhi Gupta
One of the best places to hang out with friends... reasonable prices, friendly staff, decent food and feels like home. have been going there for years and see many regulars of all ages. love the place.
Preeti Singh
in the middle of defcol main market is located this beauty. they have a really cosy and cool bar counter and the overall staff is just so hostile & amazing. the footfall is good. also, the music they play is super cool & soothing. we tried kungpao crispy chicken and chilly prawns with steamed rice alongwith "witty bro" pint on the suggestion of the bartender and trust me i've never loved prawns so much before. i'll definitely visit again.
Pulkit Singh
Still my fallback place if i want to have drinks and comfort food. Starters and Oriental is good. It’s a typical bar hangout place with friends. Note: there is nothing unique about the place but they don’t screw up on the basics. Suggest you call before end up there as it’s always packed.
Sabsebadafoodie
This pace serve authentic Asian food . If you like to enjoy drinks with Chinese and Thai food, you should visit this outlet in Defence colony.
They have good seating area . Service was satisfactory .
Chicken hongkong , Finger chicken in red curry paste are my favorite .

4S is on the legendary restaurants located in Def col Delhi.

Dingy entrance, moustached doorman.

This place is always buzzing with excitement and you can find people of all age groups here over drinks.

Food here is awesome. From tandoori momos to lobsters.

Menu is vast basically feast for every Chinese food lover.

I love the Quantity they serve. Truly worth it.

Staff is quick and cordial.

I always had an amazing experience on my every single visit.
Anuja Dasgupta
Great memories have no proofs...I have no pictures of the wonderful food and drinks I have enjoyed here simply because I was toooo happy, with my friends, with their hospitality. Starting from the big moustached and bubbly man at the gate to the bartender, every staff member is unforgettable as they would treat you well and as a regular even if you are not. Whatever review I have read of 4S over a long period of time the first thing people say is that it is "dirt cheap", "car-o-bar in ac" and what not. I would like to amend those comments and request people to go there not only for cheap drinks but the great service. It doesn't have an impressive look but it is what I would say the moon in a skyful of stars. Good things come in small packages.
Vikram Patil
Our very own ‘home bar’!
Friday evenings are usually meant to be spent at 4s with the usual faces. The staff (including the owner Mr. Kumar) are all very cordial and the food is just perfect.
A must visit for all those who have a liking for Chinese cuisine! Kudos 😃
Abhishek Kashyap Jha
I have visited this place so many times that the darban (with the large moustache) has started recognizing us now. :) Each place has its own charm. 4S is not a club or a place to dance or a place to have a big team party. But if you are 2 or 3 friends and want to have a nice long discussion about your college days or your startup plans, then this is the place to be. Basically you can have a conversation here and drink Bira and have nice chicken starters. The service is good. The food is okay. The place kind of grows on you slowly.
Advitiya Awasthi
Well where should I start. I went to 4S in 2008 and has been almost a decade since I have been visiting it. it's not your average run of the mill Chinese restaurant, it's the cheapest place in town. if you like fancy service and pretentious crowd than 4S is not the place. the best thing about 4s is that it is absolutely not apologetic about it's ambience and feel. Yes it prefers the regular customers and that's why it gives a homely feeling. You will always bump into lawyers and journalists as they principally call it their base. it's a low-key place otherwise and if you become familiar with the staff you can play your own music here.
If you're a lawyer in South-Delhi and have not been here you are probably missing out on a lot of fun.
Vinayak Rajesekhar
As I understand, 4S is understood as an important 'rite of passage' for youngsters and those fond of alcohol alike. Their food is subpar, but a congenial ambience combined with a buzzing clientele makes 4S a must-visit for potential patrons looking for a dodgy experience in one of Delhi's elite neighbourhoods.
Aditya Behera
4S Chinese doesn't have the most appealing look to be honest. That could probably be one reason as to why it attracts a lesser crowd. It is also quite shady from inside. So I had the Chicken Fried Rice and it tasted quite different from the normal chicken fried rice you usually get around Delhi. Being different is good but it doesn't seem acceptable to the palate. It was full of these pieces of vegetables which in a way overpowered the taste of the chicken. The chicken pieces where great though. But it's just that the way they made it did not appeal to me. Service I found is a little slow and all their staff is huddled at the corner of the bar which can become really creepy. Prices are on the higher side which can become a problem for some people. Do visit at your own discretion as I don't think I would want to go there again.
Vikram
I love this place! It has also been featured by EatTreat in its Ultimate Bucket List!
4S is the ultimate hub for media professionals and lawyers and it is just the place for some no-fuss Chinese food over a few shots or glasses of alcohol. The pub-like atmosphere makes it ideal for post-work drinking. Sometimes you just want to go to a bar where everyone knows you and 4S is that place for most of us. It is always crowded, even on weekdays.

What to have: Honey Chilli Potatoes and Chicken Satay
Perfect for: Post Work Drinking, Hang Outs, Casual Meet-ups
Ashish Kumar
Last night been there awesome staff n food also want to visit again. Love you guys keep it up. Love the Singapore egg noodles and egg noodles and rice.
Polite staff
Value for 💰.
Ankit Patel
Courteous staff, food is nice and infact loved the veg Hakka noodles. Honey chilli Potato and Chicken satay came out to be excellent. If you are looking for Ambience, this is not the place but for sure great outlet for Chinese!
Evan Mertens
Great place, used to go for great Chinese with cheap beer. Unfortunately, greed has reached this place as well. Last time they only sold Corona beers.
Siddharth Patel
If I define chilling just by picking a place, this places his the top of my list. A friend introduced me to this place, and I became an instant since, say 5 months.
Rahul Malik
its reasonable. happy hours till 10. its lively. always full. even on weekdays you have to sometimes wait. ambience is average. food is nice. nice crowd. must visist specially when your favourite match is on.
Ishita Sinha
Be aware of what you're going for- this is not a first date place! Perfect for drinks with friends in a very casual, pretty loud ambience. Drinks are reasonable and the appetisers very familiar and delicious. Perfect for end of month meets! A contestant over the years!
Heer Toh Badi Fat Hai - Juhi Kapoor
Amazing chinese💕 best for birthday parties . Though being in the posh market of defence colony it does not create a hole in your pocket👅 easy chinese worth for money and good staff. All in all a good experience👍🏽
Supriya Rachel
Best service in Delhi that I've seen so far. My dinner began with a warm welcome and ended up with happy taste buds. Very courteous staff and a super fast service. Food, on the other hand, is an absolute value for money. We ordered golden fish fry and mix vegetables Schezwan sauce curry - delicious! I just feel that they need to work more on the ambience. Else, everything is just perfect. I'd love to visit this place over and over again.
Lalit Kumar
Amazing place to hangout....nice service and value for money...amazing staff
USP of this place is the food and its staff....and yes price which is very reasonable...
Food4thought
The #cocktails were weak. The #chickenchat was tasteless. Less said the better about #shreddedpotato. The #masalapapad and #crispyfriedspinach were palatable. A 5 out of 10 for both at the max. I had the company of friends and so neither the poor drinks nor the worst food affected us much. That's till when the bill came. I noticed service charge
imposed at 10%. It's well known that it's an optional charge deleteable at request and I requested the manager to delete the entry. I was shocked when he started arguing with me saying that it's mentioned in the menu under terms and conditions and he cannot delete it as we are bound by their terms and conditions. I had two options. First was to create a scene, shout and refuse to pay the bill leading to calling the police. Second to pay and salvage what remained of an otherwise pleasant evening with friends. I chose the latter. This leads to the conclusion that service also sucked. So please keep out of this restaurant!

It just so happens that you often forget to pitch in for help when u become regular somewhere. Such is the charm of 4s.
The old setting with low lights and rock and pop music, makes you feel absolutely isolated from outside.
Upon entering you would be greeted by the lovely moustached doorman, whose big smile will literally catch you off guard.
The staff is sweet and they make sure they never leave your beer glass empty.
For some amazing reason the restaurant will always be full by 7pm everybody.
This place is a must go to. Comfortable, easy, lovely, good Chinese!
Anushree Jairath (GreedyGlutton)
For me and my friends, 4S is synonymous to cheap alcohol and decent Chinese snacks after long, tiring office days. 4S is situated in the middle of the bustling defence colony market and is near social. Even though from outside it does not look as hip and fancy as the other drinking options in this market, 4S is reliable and cheap and has become one of our favourite drinking joints. Their beer is always chilled, servers are non judgemental and the place has two levels. I prefer the first floor to the ground floor as it's cleaner and more spacious.

Must try? Peanut masala, honey chilli potato and chilly paneer. Mark this place as your pocket friendly and reliable watering hole!
The Reluctant Lawyer
The day I graduated from my law school, I was handed 2 degrees - one for entering law and the other for entering 4S. You don't have to be a lawyer to realise that this place is always jam-packed with talkative lawyers. And if you are a lawyer, you might have made new friends from your fraternity here or found your old friends. Well then, at the cost of sounding completely colonial and selectively biased, I love this place because it simply lets me be me. Besides the infinitely low price of food and alcohol which will make you do an elated air punch at the end while seeing your bill, you would also not disagree that they have some very sorted items on the menu with very nice taste. Don't be too daring with your choices or you might end up ordering something below your expectation. Go with their regulars; try, say, their chilly chicken or egg bhurji or crispy potato. Go early on the weekends or else you wont get a place to even stand at the bar (and oh this reminds me. Dear management, please expand!). Get your close friends who can share your happiness about the generous pricing. Order Bira. Order whiskey. Order anything and everything. And let the weekend night please begin !
Prashant M. Nigam
Good Restaurant to have some quick fun, though they have very limited space. Once it's get crowded, is becomes impossible to talk. The USP IS CHEAP LIQUOR at almost all times. Chinese cuisine served is regular but tasty..
Stylishbite (stylishbite@gmail.com)
Although not authentic yet likeable is what a truncate elucidation of the food here at 4S Chinese would look like. While the rich varieties are surely something worth appreciating, the food quality of 4S Chinese despite being that great leaves you with some prominent reasons to visit it again.

Went here a few days back and had the following items-

1). HONEY CHICKEN DRY

2). CHICKEN DIMSUMS

3). CRISPY CHILLY POTATOES

The Dimsums were a bit inappropriately filled but the Potatoes were very spicy and tasted fine. The Honey Chicken however remained the finest among all and left me craving for more.

Overall, a good choice for a Chinese meal near the Defence Colony.

FINAL VERDICT-

Quality- 3.5/5

Service- 3.5/5

Affordability- 3.5/5

On the Whole- 3.5/5

It's not much to look at, but it's got friendly staff, decent grub and reasonably priced booze. It's got a good crowd coming in - usually lawyers and from the media world. It's got the atmosphere of a village pub, and that's why we love going there.
Prithvi Khanna
My favourite bar since my college days.... I loved this because of its cheap beer and it's lip smacking Chinese food...courteous staff and fast service makes this place even better... I rate them 4 outta 5... Pan fried chicken noodles is a must try...

Booze away!!
4S is synonymous with reasonable booze and some phenomenal food! Their food menu compliments the drinks perfectly. Must have their chicken lollypop!
Ritancia
A very reasonable restaurant with some really good Chinese food. A small place. Went there for lunch with my family. The food quantity is good for its price.
The Chinese is like how many of us like it. Spicy, crispy, fresh.
Interiors are okay, very simple.
Crispy chilli chicken was the best.

:)

Hangout for lawyers. Every second person is in black and white. I ordered beer on tap, masala peanuts and salt and pepper veggies. Was great.

Absolutely no selling this place is required for most people! A nice chill place in Defence Colony Market with consistently amazing service, decent food and cheap drinks! Been a consistent favourite for over 6 years now.
If fancy is what you're looking for, not your type. If a great night of Indian-Chinese food and drinks that go easy on your pocket is your choice, you can't miss this place!

I had heard about this place, but never visited it. A friend who is a regular here for the past decade, informed me that he is at this place and we can join him. It was saturday evening, so the mood is to unwind yourself and keeps your spirits high for the next week, we decided to go to this place. i had no idea previously of how the establishment is. We were four people. We were not hungry, just plain and simple booze was enough to carry us through the night. My friend, who invited me to this place told me that he had been coming here for a decade and the bar is amazingly comfortable. The staff is courteous and friendly and so are the owners. For him , it was a regular joint. So we had about 4 large pegs of blenders pride, 4 pegs of wine, 3 bottle of beer, 2 snacks and we paid around 4 grands in total. Not bad, eh.
The ambience is not flashy, neither bad, it is a very comfortable place to be at. The food is average. We had chilli potato and chilli chicken. The place was fully occupied and one could even see a lot of foreigners here.

As a funny incident, we had to see off a friend. Thus, we paid the bill and left for some time. However, the drinks of remaining people were still on the table. By the time we came back, our table was taken. As the staff and management is really sweet, they apologised and provided us with fresh drinks. Thank YOu Guys!!!!! Standing at the service table,, drinking my booze.. would probably remain one of the interesting memories of my life. When we left, we tipped the guard and he with an amazing smile told us that he has been there for 15 years and said Thank You!!!. With the stories I have heard, it might me true that 4S could be a Central Perk for a lot of people in Delhi. Will definitely visit again.
Deb Jyoti Mahato
Good place to hang out with friends. Good parking area and environment. 1600/- for two is average. Chicken chilli dry was a decent from their menu.
Palak S
This is not a place to visit if you're looking for gourmet cuisine, fancy liqueurs or a classy girls night out. Go to 4S if you're on a budget, looking to get piss drunk for cheap and don't mind some spicy "non cuisine" food. Don't get me wrong- this place is great! It's more about the ambiance and the experience than it is about the food. They have happy hours every night, the honey chilli potatoes and the chilli chicken are next level, and it's a great place to strike up a conversation with a stranger, especially if you're waiting for an empty table or hanging out at the bar with a friend. This should be your go-to place when you're broke and thirsty!
Sukhmani Sakhi
Your neighbourhood hangout and chill place with the warmest vibe, simplicity, standard consistent good food and complete value for money. If you're looking for a fancy place, this ain't your type!
Making all the right moves of a small restro bar, Four S is one of those outlets that end up becoming "your usual spot" after a hard day of work or when you just want to sit back and relax.
Crowded beyond despair on evenings, and bustling with fleets of professionals looking to ease up after a day's work, there is never a dull vibe in here. It's a small but a cosy little den.

Two floors, low ceiling, wee but lit, closely laid tables, no fuss or pretence, an elaborate Chinese menu, err Chindian menu but delicious never the less and reasonably priced liquor. Need I say more?
They usually have full day happy hours and also offer decent discounts to regulars. High five there because this is one the main reasons this place has a sense of belongingness. Having been here on several occasions I can safely vouch for great flavours and quality of food. Staff is friendly and very pleasant. Food is prepared quick and served quick!

The usual suspects like chilly chicken, Kung Pao chicken and Chrispy chilly potatoes are a safe bet. Crunchy fried fresh ingredients with their desi Chinese sautes. Standard delectable flavours.
Chicken spring rolls with Schezuan sauce are a good choice for fried food lovers.
Order some spicy masala papad and masala peanuts and chomp it down with a jorum of beer, chug some more and devour their main course which is well prepared and highly satiating.
I personally love a plate of chicken pan fried noodles when I am in a mood to single handedly pig out!
semi soft crispy noodles with saucy shredded chicken.

Worth a visit if you're looking for a relaxed and laid back place to drink budget booze and eat some desi scrumptious Chinese food.
Drop by and allow this place to grow on you. It always does!

Cost/ person : Rs 600 (inc alcohol)
Will I visit again? Yes.
Amardeep Grover
My perennial favourite and visited again after a long hiatus yesterday.

Its a definite plus if all the servers and the captain is familiar and you get the right smiles when you enter.

Order you favourite beverage and just settle down (if you get the place that is) and ask the server for the recommendations, you would never go wrong.

Correctly priced and the energy of the place is definitely a big plus !

The interiors could do with some redoing but if it means changing the price points of the beverage menu I would prefer if it stays the same.

For being familiar and apart from the chilled beer great eats, this gets rated high on my list.
Sumit Singh
Well two words define this joint which has its own share of loyal fans who keep on coming back for their round of drinks and those words being "budget booze"! The biggest usp of this joint is the reasonably priced drinks and decent "Indian Chinese " masala finger food to go with it ohh and yes, the guard at the main door who never forgets to greet you with a salute and a smile always ! So the next time you're in Def col and feel the need to down a few on a budget, this is the place to head to! And yes, I phone has moved to 6 s and what not, so the owners may take note and upgrade the interiors Cse they definitely are of the 4s era!
Meat Man
This right in the middle of all the big facy joints with a no non sence attitude, decently priced booze and decent food!!i dont knw how many atternoons / evenings i have spent here just getting loaded with beer!! Simplicity still has a lot of charm for a pub going guy like me :p
Lavisha Bhatti ( Lavishabhati@gmail.com )
Really nice Chinese food at a reasonable price , but didn't really like the ambience it was a bit shady , not really a place to go with your family . Hanging out here with your friends and colleagues is suitable .
Toshik Anand
Cheap Beer and Chilli Chicken is this places secret. The waiters are friendly and so is the watchman with his big moustaches and a pistol shaped lighter. Been coming here for ages and this place is always packed.
The Commoner
Go there for the liquor,
Cos the pricing is really good.
But whosoever might convince you,
Dont go there for the food.

Go there for the viewing,
They've those huge screens.
But their billing can be wrong,
So be careful with your greens.

Come here after checking its rating and review on zomato.
Good place to have chinese food.
Order chicken dim sum and crispy corn triangle.
It was good food taste. Service should need to increase.
Vaidehi Misra
This place has a cult following, even the watchman there has a cult following!

You'll probably go here because a friend who knows and loves this place recommended it, or took you there themselves. Their seating is TIGHT. A mezzanine and ground floor, drinks, loud conversations and Indian Chinese, with occasional breaks for the smokers and servers who have known you for way to long, pretty much sums up 4S.

If you like this place, you have mostly certainly been drafted, with a promise to always return. If not, then you know what you don't like. Either way this place is worth a try, especially due to their crispy chilli chicken.
Guninder Singh
Firstly wrong prices mentioned, have increased long back. Cool happy hours, very reasonable prices, what kills is the taxes. Service is excellent they are attentive and come for a repeat as you are about to finish your drink
Excellent chilly chicken, chilli potatoes, dimsum, wonton, crispy lamb chilly, etc. And don't forget to order peanut masala.
Anirudh Tayal
Cheap liquor, good crowd n good Chinese...what place u can think of other than 4S.
The ambience is bit dark n unorganised bt the formers overpower them.
Recommend for getting high without making a big hole in ur pocket.
Siddhartha Kataki
Nice little place with friendly staff. I have heard that this place is usually choc a block with people in the evening, mostly office goers, thanks to the extended happy hour timings. The food served is good and priced very competitively and one won't repent visiting this place early in the evening before the crowd kicks in. As for the food, I did enjoy my salt & pepper veggies and felt that it complimented the pint of beer quite nicely.
Venky Raman
Definitely a hole in the wall that is a mix between a dive bar/lounge, would have never found this place if it wasn't for a friend that referred me to this bar. This is a perfect place to meet up with friends and start your night.
Abc098
This is now more a watering hole for cheap OH and cheaper food. But hey, who's complaining. The food as excellent, probably the cheapest Indian Chinese fare you'll find in such locale, in such an establishment. The alcohol flows, the crowd's always good and the service impeccable too. Good stuff.
Prarthana Sampath
Black and white dress (lawyers be like!) , corn triangles, bira on tap, good company and Chaudhary sahab's gun-lighter : That is 4S for me! :D

Very nice cozy place to chill out have few drinks owner and staff both super friendly take good care of you liquor selection is good finger food is awesome,I had Lamb chilly along with couple of chilled beers as a guy loved the ambience...will love to visit again
Daffy Duck
This place is not about ambience. Its about good food and cheap alcohol in an area like defence colony market. We had ordered for Kung pao chicken- 5/5, nazi goreng rice 5/5 nice shrimp flavoured rice. Spicy
White wine Sangria which was interesting. 4/5. The place is no doubt cramped and dingy. But its worth your money.
Himi's Food Journey
The ambience is great , you will see a lot of regulars here
People come here often because of the friendly ambience and cheap prices , the food is 3.5/5
Ambience is 4/5
The staff and the ambience o would say 4.5/5
Congested space but its okay. Nice atmosphere , food was fine not so good not so bad , its worth of spending. Service was excellent n the saff was good . A typicall chinese restro

The place has been given an award by Zomato, so expected it to be good. The food is okayish, but the ambiance is good. One of the pocket friendly restaurants of Def col is the only high point of this place.

When a place pops up repeatedly on a list of cheap bars in Delhi and its only claim to fame is the cheap booze, I think expecting it to have a great ambience and food is a bit too much.

4S is now one of those almost as old the def market kind of restaurants, and that speaks volumes about its popularity. The crowd that you find here are people who come here repeatedly, not expecting much more that cheap drinks.

The ambience is nothing to right home about, the first floor doesn't have great height, so of you're tall, you can bump your head on the ceiling. The service is pretty inattentive but fast. The food, no latter what you order is only average. Over my visits here we have had a lot of Chinese starters, and nothing had stood out.

Overall I'd recommend 4S to people who can manage their expectations of a cheap bar. Its best for a few drinks and starters, not for meals.
Jacquelin Kharmalki
Googled budget bars in delhi...4s ws one of the name that popped up... after drinking few bots of beer in golden dragon i along wt a friend thought of trying this 4s thing... i hv nothing against this bar but i hv problem with google listing this as a budget bar... nothing is cheap here, they charge good amount of money & the food is just average. was disappointed.
Shibri Kandhari
Visited this place on a recommendation of friend & I still wonder why.A very average place with equally average kinda food. Ambience is poor with such a chalta phirta type of look. One thing which bring people to this place is drinks at very reasonable, cheap prices.Infact food is also cheap here.Apart from that there is nothing great about this place.

Not a very hi fi kinda chinese restaurant situated in Defence Colony

We started off with Pork Pak Choi, which is juicy lean pork sliced and fried in Soya Sauce with Pak Choi leaves. For main course we ordered the 4S fried rice and chilli ginger lamb. The lamb was a bit chewey, and the gravy was a bit gluggy n thick. The fried rice seemed to just do fine

You do have drinks on the menu as well. Over all i can say the place to be a very mediocre

4S has this uncanny ability to make you think the alcohol's so much cheaper than any other place when, in truth, it isn't. But you don't go to 4S thinking about such trivialities, you end up there when you have a bunch of friends who don't mind the cramped seating and can generally let loose. This place is a bit of an institution as poorly lit watering holes that retain some old world charm are wont to be. A popular spot for journalists and generally creatively sort, it has some fabulous pork dishes that go well with whatever you're drinking. The food isn't five-star but hey, you wouldn't be here if you wanted gourmet cuisine.

Decent music, a very friendly staff and possibly the most popular doorman in South Delhi (his name escapes me) make 4S a place that will always have its patrons. Swing by on a weekday evening for a range of conversations and flushed faces.

Don't go there for an ambience but for some decently priced menu in mid of a place like that of defence colony. Food tastes better than many other high cost eating houses. Good to go!!

This place is one of the most under rated bars in Delhi. Located at Defence Colony Market, it is a small restaurant offering Chinese and Thai delicacies. I am visiting this place for the last 3 years and its amazing food, cheap alcohol and decent service compels me to visit here again and again. And guess what?! I visited here yesterday again with a friend of mine. This place features in the list of 'Pocket Friendly Bars' of Zomato and it really lives upto its tag name given to it. We went to this place at afternoon yesterday. The ambience was nice well complemented by its dim lighting. We were received by its courteous and polite staff, which altogether makes your experience memorable and brings a smile to your face. We were very hungry so we quickly ordered our food without wasting our time any further. We ordered Chilly Chicken Dry and chicken dim sums for the starters accompanying with beer and ordered 4S style mix fried rice with Diced chicken in schezwan sauce. The service was prompt. The food was awesome and it certainly exceeded my friend's expectations (it was his first visit). I had a sumptuous meal and so did my friend. And last my hungry soul was well satisfied. I strongly recommend you guys to give it a try and I am sure you won't regret for it later. (Little icing on the cake: this place offers happy hours from 12 pm to 10 pm)

A decent place for the youngsters to sit and have a beer in def col. The happy hours or 1+1 is the thing that attracts most of the people but with addition to that the food that is served is also good in terms of taste and quantity . Seating arrangement is congested .
Parikshit Kapila
Place is decent. Food was good. We ordered assorted vegetables, chilli paneer and choupsey. Price and quantity wise was also decent. Seating arrangement is not very comfortable and can be improved.
Holiday Foodie
A perfect place to have drinks after work or even on weekends, as they have 50% off on all alcohol all evening. The snaks are nice accompaniment along with drinks. Just like finger food. The servers(staff) are very good at catering to your needs at every call. Hauz was very happy to have ventured out with sum friends who made me experience this place. As for defence colony market standard, it is right up there with the places to hangout and have a good time, with having to shell out lot of money. It is value for money joint and you will appreciate evry bit of it as i die!!! So next time if you looking for a nice and cheap place to drink with friends do consider this place seriously. Surely you will be indulged in the craving to ha e food as well.

Let me start by saying this place has a good happy hour even on the weekends. As far as the food goes it's OK. I like their chilly potatoes, very spicy and tasty. I tried their Thai green curry veg option and l would not recommend it. Might go back and try something else.

4S is a very popular haunt. Spent so many with so many good friends here. The alcohol is decently priced, the food is okay. The Chinese food is the better bet. And the service is just so friendly and personalised, that i love this place.

The place is small and cheap, but still you will always face difficulties finding a place to sit. The food is descent and I find it a good place to hang around with friends.

It's only good for cheap drinks , this review needs 140 character to finish so as per this site's policy , let me elaborate further ,
Collage & Office boys after a long days of work make up the main patrons of this esteemed place , Therefore come only or if you are very thirsty for some cheap booze or in the mood to hear a loud batter as a constant background noise .
This place is very ancient , it's a regular sight of people wasted coming out or been picked by their friends to their cars as they can't even walk
Food Quality is not even worth reviewing .

I have edited my review after a recent awful experience. Three of us went here on a Saturday night and ordered dry chilli chicken, fried chicken momos, masala fries, chicken lollipop and masala papad. The chicken tasted pathetic in all food items - stale, chewy and simply horrible. The fries were cooked way in advance and they simply dipped it in hot oil before serving. And there was definitely nothing 'masala' about them. It felt like the place was trying to push off its stale food on a busy Saturday night. We left most of the food. The only edible thing was the masala papad because they couldn't have gone wrong with that! I've had better experiences here over the@ last 4-5 years but this one time wiped away all happy memories.
We also ordered an LIIT which again was not good at all!
The place is tiny and is always packed! One might have to wait to get seating. The food exemplifies 'Indianised Chinese food'. The place is very pocket friendly but the ambience is bad.

Good enough for drinks but not at all recommended for food. If you are fan of drinks with chasers, the place might just fit you well. For just eating and dine-in, there are so many better places in defence colony market.

I really love this place. The food is hot, the beer really cold, the service makes you feel at home and the crowd seems like a bunch of people who have been coming to this place for years so it makes the ambiance delightful inspite of the dingy decor.

Its an average restaurant with average ambiance and average food, hence the average rating. The 3 rating is only for its chilly lamb which was delicious .

4s restaurant is one f the oldest restaurant in that particular market, I did visit it 3 times and found worth every penny. They are known for cheapest booze in that market hence overcrowded all evenings. The offer that made wonders for them was 5 full bottles of miller beer in just 760, the chinese snacks was also great. Do try their chilly chicken. Must go visit place in that market.

This place is a good hangout spot at best . You cannot expect to be blown over by the ambience. It is worth your time and money only if you're looking forward to some drinks with your friends coupled with starters. The lotus stem honey chilli and crispy chicken are good. Can't say the same about the main course. In a nutshell, keep your expectations a bit low, otherwise you're in for a big disappointment.

This has been the place where I have been at for quite a few times ever since college days. This place is still the same... The place is primarily a joint where you would come with the boys gang from college have a few beers and a few Chinese starters and spend a few hours there. Ordered a beer and a mojito along with some peanuts only because we were already full from somewhere else but killing time to meet someone .. The mojito was bitter and they didn't really make it better after taking it back once... All in all an average place , easy on the pocket....

This place has been in the Def Col market for the longest time now, not sure how I missed on it.

Came to this restaurant/bar with some long time patrons of this place and was surprised for the GOOD.

Food:
Pan Fried Dim sum (Non Veg) - Recommended
Veg American Chopsuey - Recommended, Crispy noodles, sauce perfect
Non Veg American Chopsuey - Recommended - However egg was over cooked
Hakka Noodles (Non Veg) - Recommended
Chicken in Oyster sauce

Aside from trying the Chicken in Oyster sauce, everything was very well cooked. American Chopsuey brought me down the memory lane and it tasted exactly what I had probably 7-8 years ago.

Drinks: Chilled Beer's and Old Monk with Pepsi - Beer's were served chilled

Service/Ambience: Service is excellent and staff is super courteous. One can sit in a group and enjoy conversations.

Even the restaurant guard is super friendly and would set you up for the service to expect.

Price: Not expensive considering the location, worth a try for the price conscious

One afternoon in defence colony we wanted to have some good chinese food and we landed up to this restaurant as it came on the top during our search on Zomato.

The place is shady , pathetic music choices and poor service. We ordered one platter of tofu in hot chilli bean sauce and garlic oodles which tasted as bad as raw prawns. The tofu was stale and you couldnot even break it by a fork and the gravy was just a mixture of water and ching's schezwan sauce. The noodles were pretty good but it all went vain when dipped into that sauce.

This place might turn out to be good in night but definitely not in afternoon as your cornea would get affected badly :)

Good place to spend time with your friends and family if you are craving for chinese food.
Staff is very experienced and courtageous.
Food is served at rite temperature on your table which is most important in a Chinese restaurant.

Its a very old restaurant tucked in def col market. A good dessert place can surely make your day.it can bring smiles to sullen faces..can add more spice to your moments of victory...and above all can make a happy ending to a fine experience!!!...For me, my experience with 4 S surely satisfies my taste buds completely.

If Oly Pub had a Delhi chapter - this would be it! The same laid back feel, nice food and some great prices for the liquor. What's not to love?

We liked the casual ambience of the restaurant but the food served was a big disappointment. My friends complained of stomache and vomiting the next morning. The soup we ordered wasn't the right one, noodles with soup were fried in bad oil, french fries' batter tasted too much of oil as well. I recommend to pls revisit the food preparation in your kitchen

A rare non-ostentatious watering hole in Delhi. More rarity comes to it with the reasonable rates for drinks & food. The Chinese fare is unassuming & great. The super friendly and efficient staff is the icing on the cake. With no genuine pubs (5 stars don't count) in the city, this surely is an option to be your weekly haunt.

A place in Defence Colony popularly known as the "lawyers hub". It is always full of lawyers. Dont be surprised if you see that its full of people wearing black and white. Its an ordinary place. Not very fancy but a cool place to hangout. Affordable beer with decent food and good service make this place a must visit.

Have visited it enough number of times, but still love it. The music is really loud. In case, you are visiting for a chitchat session, a big NO to this place. Its a place to get drunk and enjoy music. The staff is humble and polite.

Best thing I like about this place is the way the guy at the entrance greets everyone. A man with big moustache and a lovely smile on his face. I am visiting this place for almost 5 years and he is always the same.

Highly recommended for a weekend evening. Cheers!!
