Review Fujiya - New Delhi

Babak Momeni
Very nice food. Mainly Chinese influence, with a few Japanese-inspired options scattered in the menu. It was fairly quiet for a weekday lunch, but it seems dinners are more crowded.

Good food, nice location. Food is a bit expensive but not restaurant in a shopping mall. Sushi was good and was made like sushi which we were sensitive about. The Chinese is good as well and reminded us some old and gold Chinese restaurant in Kolkata. Nice ambiance, holding the authenticity and charm of a Asian restaurant in India. Definitely willing to visit again. They are charging service

Must visit if happen to be in Chanakyapuri especially Malcha Marg if U love authentic Japanese and Chinese cuisine. Their hard drink menu is also worthwile trying !! It's Upend Restaurant !!!

A very humble and top notch place to have Chinese in Delhi. One of the oldest places in the city and in a premium location. The staff is absolutely polite and food is mouth watering and lives up to the expectation all the time. Cost effective considering the locality. And a place to visit number of times by Chinese lovers

Fujiya established in 1969 is perhaps one of the oldest Chinese and Japanese resturant in Delhi located in Malcha Marg an upscale area of New Delhi.. Fujiya literally translated is a male name for boys and means wealth and riches in abundance We were a party of 6 seniors and we had proposed that we partake lunch on Friday 5th January 2024.. The resturant was at 1pm already crowded and were lucky to have booked a table for six in advance.. The interior are cramped and perhaps purposely done to bring the Japanese resturants atmosphere which has lot of warmth .. For starters we ordered out sweet and sour veg soup with crispy spinach pepper salt and roast bean curdvwith vegetables.. For main course we ordered Japanese sticky rise with vegetables .We had also tried out pan fried noodles vegetables and Kung pao vegetables.. For desert ice date pancake and Mount Fuji Ice-cream. The food still has the old time charm and we had a chance to talk to the owner who identified himself as Surinder..and he stated that the chefs are all old timers and his cooking remains true to the days he started Fujiya resturant.. The food was served hot and in style and was favorably spiced and had the correct taste and flavour.. The service was courteous, helpful and friendly We spent nearly two hours over the leisurely lunch and enjoyed every moment... We wish all members of Fujiya resturant all the very best in the future years... Enclosing a few pictures and a video clip to give an idea of the ambience and the feel of the Fujiya establishment

Excellent food. Nice place for food. Visited after a long time. Must visit place.

This is more of an Indian Chinese restaurant than a Japanese restaurant... out of six dishes we ordered four were good, two were average... so if you want to try some decent Chinese food with little bit of Indian flavors added you can visit this place... not many Japanese food options available on menu... also they don't have plate system or meal bowls... you need to order curry and rice or noodles separately... looking at the ambience, price is a little on higher side.

Good food, nice location, courteous staff. Food is a bit expensive but not exceeding the price of such restaurant in a shopping mall. Sushi was good and was made like sushi which we were sensitive about. The Chinese is good as well and reminded us some old and gold Chinese restaurant in Kolkata. Nice ambiance, holding the authenticity and charm of a Asian restaurant in India. Definitely willing to visit again. They are charging service charge by default, would suggest them to ask customer before they do so, that should have a better jesture.

Nice yummy food, Chinese really tastes well

Good old school vibe and food The service was a bit slow but the food makes up for it The mocktails tasted too artificial and can be improved. To get a table easily be there before 1945, else you would have to wait for minimum an hour.

Fujiya !! Few places never die !!

More than food fujiya is a place which serves Nostalgia for me... visited almost after a decade and everything still looks similar to the last visit I had !!

Apparently I still ordered the same dishes which I have ordered almost a decade back and moment I took first sip or bite of the noodles in soup it was a flashback to the last visit we had when we celebrated a friends birthday after having few beers in those plastic glass inside a steel glass at Yashwant palace !! Wish we had a time machine !!

Talumein soup was good and adding a bit of vinegar and chillies made it perfect for me and my company !!

Chilly garlic noodles with some baby corn , mushrooms & broccolli in garlic sauce was just heaven & i am still drooling while writing this post !!

It was a well spent evening remembering some old memories of chanakyapuri or malcha marg while eating favorite food of yours alongwith a few sips of Kingfisher and an ipl match on a small led screen...

I am no connoisseur to measure the salt , vinegar , msg or any other ingredient as i perfectly believe in each to his/her own but i still feel old school hardly disappoints !!

http://bit.ly/CooknBrew

#cooknbrew #fujiya

It's been 51 years since this iconic restaurant had opened and it still is present inside everyone's heart who has been there. This says a lot about the quality of this restaurant.

I finally had a chance to come here again after 17 years for my parent's anniversary and oh boy I loved the experience once again.

I had ordered a plate of Veg and a Chicken Momos along with Honey Chilli Potato for starters. For Main Course we had a Veg and Chicken Fried Rice along with Shredded Lamb in Hot Garlic Sauce, Prawns in Oyster Sauce and Paneer Manchurian.

Finally for the desert we had a plain brownie and a brownie with ice cream and chocolate to finish off the fabulous lunch.

The only disappointment was we could not get any Dimsums as they were not available at that moment.

Another thing is that the price is seem to be on a little higher side, it would be nice if they lower down the price a little bit.

The food was delicious. Quality and quantity was really good. Its a nice family dinner kind of place. We ordered 1 prawns in garlic sauce and chicken fried rice and it was so yummy.

Have been going to Fujiya for over 25 years. It’s first time I did not like most items served. I think most of their experienced chefs & servers may not be coming due to Covid & those cooking are not a patch of earlier ones. Soup was too bad tasting. Fruit beer served was probably of old stock concentrate & had odd smell to it.chicken Hongkong was just some undercooked chicken chunks in lot of gravy, chef probably does not know what chicken Hongkong is. Hakka Noodles were of too bad quality & it was having too much oil. Most fresh dessert items were not available. Veg crispy salt & pepper was soggy. Prawns salt & pepper were the only good thing we ate. I don’t think restaurant is using fresh ingredients nowadays. I will strongly suggest to avoid going till normal times return. Servers did not wear gloves. Still old menus were used & no digital option. Restaurant is not probably totally COVID ready. Worst food I had at Fujiya in past 25 years!

This place has an amazing ambience. As far as the food is concerned we ordered only two things- Chilly Garlic Noodles and Prawns.
Though the garlic noodles didnt have an impact on me, the prawns were very tasty. It was my first time having prawns and I was satisfied.

Fujiya is listed in the legendary restaurants of Delhi. It has been here since decades and I had high expectations from this place. They had a vast menu with a lot of dishes. So we decided to order a veg Sushi platter and pan friend noodles.

Their pan fried looked very different than the ones I am used to eating. The noodles were fried, more like choupsey and topped with lots of veggies and greens. The sauce of the veggies was bland, some translucent kind of sauce with no flavours just basic salt and pepper. So the noodles were very disappointing.I have had far better pan fried at other places!

Next the sushi also couldn’t impress.Tempura sushi was still ok considering the other ones.Other sushi we didn’t took even a second serving after trying it.We unfortunately couldn’t even finish our meals and left!

The food is as chinjabi as possible. It’s just because of the old school feel you can go to the place.

We ordered sushi, fried rice, chili garlic noodles and Hong Kong chicken. Food was pathetic. Completely not worth going. Strictly a NO NO NO NO NO
N if u tell them about it , no body bothers.........

Lost charm. Very bad experience both in food & service. Had gone with family for lunch.
1. Hot & sour chicken soup was tasteless neither spicy not tasty.
2. Chilli garlic noodles had hardly and garlic & was bland.
3. Prawns in hot garlic sauce was like a below average Indian curry with prawns thrown in it. Horrible taste. When I called manager Thakur he was rude and said it is cooked this way only.
Anyways had such a bad experience that wanted to make others aware.

Not a good place for chatore indians.. then they have their own order of charging service charge which is a obove the Hon'ble Supreme Court..

Bestest oldest authentic Chinese food , must go place
Kobid Puri
A lovely restaurant with good ambience. Chilly fish tastes awesome. Must try for all. One of the places to find authentic Chinese soup. I tried Hot&Sour Chicken soup , chili garlic noodles and chicken in hot garlic sauce. Retreat for Chinese people in Delhi
Thumps Up !

Having turned down a couple of times due to a full house, I decided to visit on a Tuesday (when everyone turns vegetarian) evening. Got a warm
welcome with a choice of tables even! But in a few minutes, as we were about to dig into our soup, the place was bustling with people waiting outside.
So, what’s the fuss all about?
It’s the old world feel. It gives you a feeling that it’s been there since ages with a tribe of loyal customers. It’s like nothing has changed and that’s what people love about it. It isn’t cheap by any standards but I guess it’s a great place to grab a beer and munch on an appetiser. A big bottle of Kingfisher is for 300/- .
Food: well, it’s nothing special but you can’t fault it. And that’s what brings people back here. You just can’t go wrong.
They offer an array of Chinese and Japanese dishes. Some indian dishes quietly slipped in like Gobi Manchurian 😜 I tried the corn and asparagus soup, the chilly baby corn, aromatic pork dumplings, Japanese sticky rice with vegetables. Everything was just right. Right amount of spice, right portion size, fresh ingredients. Quite a homely feel to the place. And the decor coupled with the bustle of the place makes for a good happy outing.
Worth a try.

Want to have tasty Chinese and Japanese food? Then try FUJIYA in Chanakyapuri, tried hot and sour and corn soup followed by chilly potato, mojito, spring rolls and after that pan fried noodles with gravy. Delicious food was served and the staff was also polite and respectful, amazing experience at this place. Will visit this place again with my friends.

Perfect place for having tasty chinese food at a reasonable price .. with courteous staff .must try - chilli chicken
Prannay44
Never go here..chicken is under cooked and bad..Pathetic food..don’t go for
The ambience..The food is really bad.especially non veg food..it’s the worst..they served raw chicken.
Twice..
Himangi Tripathi
I have been there for office lunch. Being a vegetarian, I have ordered chilli paneer gravy, fried rice & veg soup. All the dishes were not that good. Taste was average. I would say it is not a place for people who love spicy food. Although ambience was quite good and sitting was nicely color coordinated!

Fujiya is my absolute favorite place to dine for authentic Chinese and Japanese cuisine.
I have been visiting this restaurant since I was a kid and their quality hasn't changed at all over time.
The servers are polite and courteous.
The ambience is amazing. With dimly lit lamps and cute little booths.
Their sukum wonton soup and Chinese chicken chopsuey is a must try!
Chalo_kuch_khayein
Fujiya, serves Chinese and Japanese food. Tried chilly potatoes, baby corn chat, spring rolls, chilly garlic noodles. Chilly potatoes were crispy and the food was mildly spicy. All of them were really amazing in taste. The quantity and quality is good. The staff and the services were good. The ambience is great with soft music. One can visit this place with his friends and family. A must visit place...!

Till a few months back, i used to love this place....would esp go all the way to Delhi for this old restaurant charm with Chinese cuisine....even would put up with the ever so congested seating with literally no room to move some times....The food also was really nice and worth the effort....but this time it failed on all accounts....food was pretty average and so was the service....!

This is a childhood place, but has become super expensive. They continue to charge service charge which violates the notification by the honorable supreme court that mandates resteraunts to stop charging the same.

I as an individual I am not going to leave this matter but take it up in the court against them as the system of charging the service fee needs to be stopped.

Another issue is that they charge GST on Service Charge. Now as per the Government Notification, the GST component has to be charged on the food amount and not on the service amount. The restaurant shamefully continues to charge the GST amount on the entire bill.

I am attaching the invoice which I will use against them in court.

The quality of food is also not good.

Step inside for a cozy place and feeling, dim-lit with red-hues; glimpse of cute Japanese art around here and there, stained-glass Siberian cranes.. keep looking and you might find pandas too. A bit of old-charm, well, it just charms ;)

We were greeted by friendly and courteous staff who ushered us to a table. Though it’s a Japanese specialty, you’ll find many other cuisines on menu. We ordered a ‘Chicken teriyaki Sushi’ and ‘Yaki Gyoza’. The food quality and portion size looks great and was presented well. Umm, we did bite into it, and found the sushi good. The dimsums though, we had to pause and remark that the taste and flavors could certainly be better.
Meghna Nanda
Just placed an order for chicken momos and Kung Pao chicken... what came as momos was dried chicken stuffing with a flimsy cover.... that was not at all edible ... the other dish was kung Pao chicken that was simply boiled chicken and peanuts in tasteless sauces... we were shocked and thought may be it’s some other new place fujiya could not be the same regular one that we have been visiting but we were wrong .. The quality has gone down a lot.... super disappointing experience it was in total... The restaurant that we have grown up visiting is not the same any more...!!

One of the best Japanese cusine I really like the ambience
Which gives you a different feel .
A must visit for all. The Japanese lovers ....
They do some Chinese with a different taste a must try ...
We ordered veg sushi and dinsum .. which I like the most ...
In terms of service it's actually good ..
We been there in Sunday afternoon and the place is quite busy ..but we served well ..
Must try guys

Best place for your Chinese cravings. I am going to this restaurant since childhood and they never fail to satisfy you. The ambience is so calm and peaceful. The food is super delicious. This time I ordered chicken Dragon rolls, chilli mushrooms, hakka noodles and chicken Manchurian everything was so good and even the quantity is very nice. For the dessert I ordered brownie with chocolate sauce and ice cream and it tasted too good, the brownie was fresh and warm and tasted super good with chilled ice cream.

We went their banking on the fact that it’s one of the oldest Chinese restaurant. Though the food was regular and even tasteless on few accounts. It lacked flavor and the taste had been altered to suit the Indian population. Will be giving this one a miss in the future.
Harjotkaurnarang
Food was good. Though really average service. Food took pretty long to come. The staff is not aware about the menu. Ask for recommendations, they won’t have anything to say.

Fujiya reminded me of my childhood. The food was let’s say.. hmmm.. nostalgic Chinese. Which means it’s better than the dhaba Chinese but not as authentic as the Chinese you get now at fine dining restaurants. Back in the days one never had authentic Chinese. It was always this kind of food and we loved it.

The ambience is comfortable, not fancy. Restaurant pics that We had seen online were not that convincing but I we still came here cause We felt like going to that kind of a place.

The food quantity is generous. Though the pricing is slightly on the higher end for nostalgic Chinese.

The dimsums were amazing. Tom yum soup was good. Noodles were the kind you could just eat without anything. Sliced lamb in oyster sauce was good as well. Sushi was average but then we had ordered the chicken teriyaki which wasn’t really the best thing to order.

The service was fabulous. We were greeted with a smile and each time we were served, the staff had a huge grin. I’m hoping it’s cause they are courteous and not that I had something stuck on my face ;)
Silly Food Tales
This restaurant is quite good in terms of pleasant environment. Also the quantity of the food is good enough to fill the tummy.
This place is not very spacious though the ambiance is good.
I went there with my family and we ordered sushi, veg momos, crispy chilly lotus stems and veg manchow soup.
Everything was delicious in taste.
Must try their veg manch ke soup is was amazing.

Didn’t like the food, tasteless & oily it was a bad decision to leave MKT & have food over here.
I would not recommend this place to anyone.
According to there pricing food should be mouth amazing but sad.

Mohit Sahoo
Hi
I visited this place last week for dinner,in a hope for good Chinese food.
As I enter the place the decor was dim and red which I liked.
For drinks we ordered few beers along with that we ordered main course which was noodles, vegetables in hot garlic sauce with fried rice. After having little bit of portion we stopped eating because the food was oily and not fresh.
Due to that we sent back the food to the kitchen and told are server the food is very bad.
After clearing the bill we left the place.
All the vibe of the night become sad.
Nothing vintage about this place.
I think the owner is not concerned about the hygiene of his place.
Thank you
Mohit Gupta
Ricky Batra
Very bad food quality & it was extra oily.
Please don’t eat this place.
I would suggest go for other better options in the area.
Thank you.
Preeti Sharma
We visited this place after watching a movie expecting good meal for everyone with us but end up disappointed with the food quality & over expensive pricing(you get better food at MKT AT BETTER PRICING).
The food was oily & tasteless.
Please avoid this place.
Saheb Narula
Very bad food, this place is over priced(like spending 8k for meal for 4, Leela would be still a better option)
Food was oily & extra spiced we had return the food in full portions due to quality & health concerns.
I would suggest please seek other better options.
Please avoid this restaurant.
Nothing great about this place.
Saumya
This is a classic restaurant. The food is always decent although lately it has declined. The ambience is pleasant. Perfect for family and close friends. Not so much for dates
Nalin Dsouza
The Chinese is quite good, beer choice and price are good. Food quantity is very good where each dish is good enough for two people, the problem with the food is if you chew a bit more you'll end up getting the same taste from another dish you've ordered. Though the chicken drumsticks are the absolute best. If you're seated in the middle of the restaurant the service is really slow
Reetika Sood
Light and delicious. The authentic Chinese food you can get here and the best taste.
Fujiya has maintained its taste over 15 years now and still the best Chinese they have in Delhi.
You will have to stand in a queue incase you are planning to visit the restaurant.
Priyanka Kaul
My all time fave place 😍 The soup is to die- for, especially chicken soup. The Chinese is the best I've had. It's unbeatable. How I miss going here.
Surbhi Chadha
It's a old little place with a traditional setup which I prefer .. had visited there years back when I was a kid and the food was exceptional. But unfortunately this time the food was terrible.. in todays time when Delhi lacks such traditional fine dine restaurants with cafes flowing.. it is sad to see such restaurants loose its essence of food. The food was extremely oily and spicy like old oil was used .. it felt like the Chinese was picked from a street vendor.. extremely disappointed.
Yummy Singh
An old place for Asian cuisine and it's still running strong , Quite popular as the clientele is fixed and the food still is great . I have been visiting this place since long but my last visit came recently which was an impromptu plan . The ambiance is soothing and great , the staff is quite old faces and is courteous.
I ordered a Schezwan chicken rice which was excellent and good enough for two people. I also ordered a classic cold coffee which too I loved .
Always a good experience coming here
Dvj Aks Akhil Choudhary
Authentic food , traditional ambience and awesome taste that's what describes fujiya. I would recommend them to increase the size of the restaurant as it seems small sometimes. But one should try them atleast once .
Sidharth Shankar
Heard a lot about the place but sadly found a cockroach in the dish and the staff was sadly in-different.

Best wishes to the staff and it's regular patrons!
Lorren Borggohain
It is one of those places where you go to feel the quiet peace, while tasting a particular taste. I love the ambience of the place. It is very elegant and the food here authentic.

I would recommend the Singapore Soup they serve. It comes with live fire, all sorts of meats and a quantity that can fill up three people easily.

I had tried their sushi and crispy lotus stems. Excellent!
Ashna Sawhney
We are a regular customers of this place. It is very popular and known for its sushi and Chinese food. But last night was a horrible experience. Every dish ordered right from manchow soup to dumplings and then the main course was a disappointment. Will really have to think twice before coming here again.
Abhishek
Well known for their Chinese and Japanese cuisine, the restaurant is highly recommended. Do try their sushi and chinese main course dishes for sure.
Anubha Jain
Its the family favourite Chinese restaurant..
One of the very few restaurants in Delhi who serve authentic and good chinese! And from years!!
The taste remains the same ❤️

Soups to starters to main course every thing is a must try!
Take your time, don’t eat in jiffy!

The staff is super sweet and nice!

No food pictures allowed on family dinners!
Sids2102
If you want to enjoy authentic Chinese, this is the place to visit. From chilli chicken to hong kong chicken this place nails everything. The ambience of the resturaunt is also great.
Balraj Bhasin
Returned to this restaurant after almost 40 years.
While the interior and service were fine, the food was trash.
Hot Sour Soup - peppery...a ok
Chilly chicken dry - was dry, no spice no flavor. A street chabriwalla can produce better.
American Chop Suey--- now where do I start. The meats a bit of shredded chicken with the tiniest shrimp and some sliced meat I presume was pork, in a tasteless red sauce.
Common guys, with so many years of experience, I am sure you can do better. One can only exist for so long on nostalgia.
Atin
Since 1969 as it says and i am seeing since 1999, as fondly as i remember it to be the same. One of the places which have remain the same and have not changed a bit.

The only change would be the staff but rest in terms of majority of the menu, the taste and decor is still the same. One of the finest fine dinning Chinese and Japanese restaurant .

Had vegetable soup with dumplings and fried corn. Soup was great and corn were just fried as much as it was needed.
My ever favourite american choupsey still tastes the same. The fried rice or Hakka noodles will still give you the authentic Chinese taste.

The food is always excellent, service was prompt and as always you remember the older days.

I forgot to take pics as i got bit more into my older memories and by the time i realised my lunch was over.
Tanya Bhutani
You enter the place and you feel nostalgic. This is one of the first few places where I started eating authentic chinese in Delhi. This time that I went, I ordered the Veg Momos, Crispy Chilli Lotus Stem, Veg Manchow Soup, Stir fried vegetables in hot garlic sauce and chilli garlic noodles. Everything was top notch except for the fact that I had a birnt taste in the noodles.
All in all
Taste: 4/5
Service: 5/5 (You will feel home as you are guided ij the best possible manner and there is something for everybody)
Ambience: 3/5
Experience: TIMELESS
Am I visiting them again: For Sure

Really good quality food served at fujiya on malcha marg chanakyapuri. A very good ambience and quick and friendly service. Went there after I got engaged with my family and in-laws.

Very old restaurant excellent location right on the main road visible from the moving traffic. Situated in Malcha Marg food is good and tasty. Staff is polite and respectful. It's a small place but runs full house and has many tourist. Nice place for Chinese and Japanese food.

My favorite place! Their mizutaki soup is to die for! Have been going to this place from 12 years! Simply beautiful and love love love it! The kung pao chicken, the spring rolls, the fried jumbo prawns and the authentic fried rice and Manchurian. Just perfect for a family dinner. If you're planning to go on a weekend I would suggest that you book the tables as this place is packed!

**My Place For Chicken Lollipops**
.
I have been here many times, tried mostly the chinese cuisine here. Apart from the Chinese Chopsuey and the Mini Cheese Rolls that I like having here, I can vouch for their mouth watering Chicken Lollipops! That's their best dish from the menu in my view, provided that I haven't tried any of their Japanese delicacies. Give this place a try if you like peaceful surroundings, the Malcha complex is not at all crowded and demands to be visited!
.
.
Taste: 4/5
Ambience: 4/5
Value for money: 4/5
Service: 4/5

Having lunch right here, right now and the place is terrible!! The food is pathetic, especially the chilli fish that we ordered. The chilly fish that we ordered tasted heavily of chemicals and the Chicken Szechwan ricethatbwe ordered was full of egg. I wish they had informed earlier as I am. Allergic to egg. Insensitive staff. Would never recommend anyone to come here

The good old Fujiya is still a place you would love to visit again and again. The service food and consistency of prescriptions is amazing. Not much options for Japanese dishes but the Chinese menu is exhaustive and varied. The place is always brimming with activity. A pleasure to dine there.

"Amazing Chinese" would be the this places's tagline! The food is so wonderful!!! It's tasty and leaves you craving for more!!! It's a very old place and that's how I had heard about it.... But it's authenticity is maintained...
It's very easy to locate and has a provision for Valet parking which makes the visit extremely stress-free....
The staff was courteous, the service was quick and they have great variety to choose from!!!
Would recommend you all...

The Best place for Chinese and Japanese cuisine around the area....The ambience is nice. The interiors are very appealing, it steps up the experience of having Asian food...... The Staff is nice and approachable...
What to say about food here......it is just AMAZING.....
Never found any flaw in the food except for the extra salt in the food but you can ask for adding less salt while giving order...well it's just a personal preference....

Well my overall experience is very good...
Ratings:- (out of 10)
Food:-8
Ambience:-7
Service:-9
Locality:-9
Overall a good place but food taste and level is average .. this include the feedback of our Japanese guests... However the location is prime and easy to approach.

This is my go-to place since early eighties. Since I was a child. I still love to go here. But the Mizutaki soup was a bit disappointing. It could have been better. They should put more vegetables and meats. Also bit less flavourful. Overall I love the place. But there is definitely room for improvement!

A awesome place for chilling out and having some really good food. Visited the place for the first time and loved the soup and Chinese served there. The ambience was nice along with soft music and the service was very nice. In total it was an amazing place to hang out and have food with friends and family.
GoodFood Is What I Like!!!
Retaining its charm of old times with its warm traditional ambience, enhanced with retaining of some of the old experienced servers serving politely and suggesting well what to order, takes my recent visit to Fujiya, to the memorable experiences had in yester years at the place.

Food is great tasting and authentic!

Well recommended to those who crave for good Chinese food in Delhi/NCR!

Everytime it is a great experience to come here. Enjoyed the food as always. Coming to this restaurant is something i cant say no to. Visiting this place since i was a child. Must try!!!

I finally visited this place tonight along with my friend after receiving huge feedback (mostly positive). Well, to begin with, the ambience was average. The hotel staffs were friendly and cordial. As a common ritual with any new place, I preferred to go with starters before venturing into the main course. So, we ordered the following:
Spicy chicken lemon soup
Fried calamari
Chicken skewers
Shrimp Dimsum with Japanese Ginger

The soup was served at the beginning and was average. At least that’s what my take was initially, but at the end of it, I gave it a much higher rating ( trying to get the positive out of the entire experience)

Then came the fried calamari. Honestly, calamari is one of my fav and tend to end up judging the place based on this singular prep! And, alas! It was indeed a shocker! How can someone prepare a calamari in the style of desi chicken pokoda style, garnished with onion rings, lemon slices and coriander leaves! Even the batter with which it was fried, remained uncooked from inside.

Then came the chicken skewers, which was reasonably prepared, even though the marination of chicken had left things to be desired for!

And if the said ordeal was not sufficient, then came the turn of dimsums! Just for general information, I am a huge fan of dimsums & right now I am in a spree for trying out varieties of dimsums options across s genre of restaurants in the city! And, alas! Even the shrimps were not traceable in the dimsums and it was garnished with marinated ginger which is generally used with Sushi! For The love of God, how can any chef do this to dimsums! So, that was the last nail in the coffin and I, along with my friend, who, by the way also a huge fan of Chinese and Japanese food, decided not to go for any further orders and called it a night!

So, I was still left pondering, how can a place, with such high level of recommendation, go so horribly wrong for us? The only logical conclusion that I could arrive at is the fact that, may be, people who had better experience than us, would have opted for basic Chinese options like noodles, chilli chicken, salt and pepper stuffs, which, in any ways, would be a safe option to try out any where!

Cheers!

P.S.: This is me, the ever so effervescent foodie trying to draw a silver lining at the end of nightmare!
This place is home. Talk about Asian comfort food! I love their seafood soup. The quantities are so good and wholesome. Have been coming here for time immemorial.

My family has been coming here for about 30 years. I have been coming here since I was 7 years old and 18 years later this place is still my go-to place in Delhi. While there is undoubtedly a great deal of nostalgia attached to it, the food is always excellent and the service is attentive and pleasant. Fujiya has been a bastion of authentic Asian food in the city for a long while and while there are many authentic options available now, it has maintained its charm and standards surprisingly well. The decor is beautiful and retro in a lovely sort of a way and I hope to bring my kids here one day! The sushi here is excellent, but I would always recommend the Fujiya special noodles with all the meats and the sweet corn soup. Chicken Manchurian is always in my standard order for all that it is not authentically Chinese. I often get the food packed and take it for my mother in Chandigarh, every time I pass through Delhi.

Have been visiting this place since 1999... One of my favorite Asian places with the oriental decor, great service and decent food. It's been traditional for me to order the Sukum wanton soup, a family favourite... Nice steaming hot soup bowl with fried dumplings to go with... The taste hasn't changed for the past 19 yrs. The dumplings taste amazing with the Chilli sauce... Though the aftermath might be difficult to handle for the amateurs. Chilli fish, noodles and the fish are other standard offerings they have. Though I havent recently tasted their Japanese... Of what I remember it's pretty authentic. For a place I've been visiting for so long with constant taste and great service and well under 2k for 2 without alcohol, it's worth 4 starts.

The chicken Manchow soup, the prawns and the grilled fish with mandarin sauce were the highlight for me.
Nice place. Definitely worth the try.

We went on a Wednesday night..despite being a week day the place was almost full. We ordered beer and hot and sour chicken soup for the initials alongwith veg dimsums. The dimsums were below average and tasted like any other locally available momos. In the main course we ordered a veg Schezwan with rice and non veg Schezwan bowl with rice. Both were good. Would definitely visit here for the old restaurant look and the courteous staff.
Was passing by Chanakyapuri, thought of dining in at Fujiya. The place was full, and alot more people we're pouring in. The food was decent, Service was good, staff were friendly enough to explain a few dishes. The only dish that was disappointing was the Tempura Maki. Did not look appetizing, and tasted little off. The rice was too pressed while rolling the Maki. Not complaining, but our views of the Maki Roll. Overall an OK Experience.

A very old Chinese-Japanese restaurant, located in Chanakyapuri, with very comforting Japanese-Chinese interiors.

Had heard this place serving pretty nice Chinese and Japanese food. So firstly, talking of service, it was pretty average; service personal are not polite and are not engaging with customers, they do not like explaining things to the customer and are very consistent with their laid back attitude.

So we started with a vegetable soup, which was pretty bad. This was enough restrict myself to a few ‘safe dishes’. Vegetables in the soup were unevenly cut, some big some small in size, no uniformity. Seemed like it was prepared just for the hell of it!

Next, I ordered fish in black bean sauce, with egg friend rice.

Talking of the fish, it was pretty bland, fish fillets were too big in size and they tasted stale. They weren’t juicy and didn’t have the kind of flavorful taste like good quality fish fillets have.

Moreover, the onions were cut very unprofessionally which were clearly visible (long rings shaped in Chinese!) and some fine chopped! I was confused as to what was I eating, as Chinese dishes are supposed to have a particular typed of cut depending on the dish. Fried rice were equally bad, rice didn’t seem fresh.

Overall, I was disappointed after having my lunch here, which left me in bad mouth more than unsatisfied.

My Rating: 2

Heard a lot about this place from my dad. So, went there with friends. Beautiful old decor, kind & knowledgable staff, food is delicious. A special brownie points to their brownie with ice-cream. A must must visit if you are Chinese cuisine fan.

A lovely place for a quiet lunch or even dinner. You can go here with anyone.. but if you want a cosy date.. don't think twice, just GO.

It is at Malcha Marg which gets even better at night with all the lights around. They have authentic japanese taste. They give you chopstics as well as normal cutlery, you can grab your hands on any.

The Tes( jasmine) is a mustttt to have in the end. It is aromatic and digests the food immediately.

Heard about this place for amazing Chinese food. Gave it a try and it was not disappointing. The only thing which I didn't like was the waiting hour, for which we had to wait for more than an hour. But finally when we got the seats and when the food arrived, the food was really mouthwatering.
I went here yesterday with two of my friends. We all ended up getting a stomach infection. The food was horrible and did not seem fresh at all. They have definitely dropped their standards. Wouldn’t recommend anyone to eat here!

Reminds of those fancy 90s restaurants for Chinese. Typical Indo Chinese done quite well. I enjoy this place every time I go it. It’s honestly a nostalgia trip because I legit feel like I’m in a restaurant considered fancy for the 90s.

The place where I always have to wait a lot but it is definitely worth the waiting. The most authentic place to try any Japanese or Chinese Cuisine. Love this place so damn much.

Well I had heard a lot about this place as it is just adjacent to my school and decided to give this one a try.

Ambience - Comforting - Made us look forward to some amazing food. Has a mix of Japanese and Chinese aesthetic looking at the paintings on the wall and the way lighting and walls were done.

Food - Food was nice - not superbly awesome but decent. Scope for betterment!

Staff - Very basic not engaging, not interested in explaining things to the customer (upon observing staff's conversation with other customers as well) . Upon asking what's best for the menu, we sadly didn't receive any input as the reply came - "All is ok". A good restaurant deserves the staff that can explain you about what they offer which can add to the interest.

Hence, no pictures were taken.
