I’ve been stalking certain restaurants, thanks to Zomato. And that’s really paid off. How so? well i was able to find this Gem through stalking. And i have waited long enough to actually place an order and experience the food. Now, for this place being situated in Kalkaji, you may think it is too pricey, but it was a pleasant surprise to see that the price was just with the portion served. And be ware, the portions may be bigger than you may expect.
Now, with everyone at my workplace being a foodie, it had be spot on to make them happy. So seeing that the lunch hour was the right time, i went on to order, Kadhai Mutton, Okra, Qorma Kofta, Yakhni Murg and Afghani Naan. As said earlier, the portions were a surprise, we dug into the food, without even taking pictures of it (Sorry!) and were delighted by how excellent it was, Hearty as well. In entirety, the food was excellent, made with a lot of love, the service was very quick, and the person taking the order was super courteous and helpful. Extra points to him. I can’t wait to have another go at the food here, will surely recommend it to anyone who is adventurous with new cuisines. Eat it to Believe it.

Had lunch here on 12.02.2017. Tried there non veg meal , fish tikka was amazing ... so was Uzbeki rice was lovely with very tender piece of mutton ... would love to try more of the mutton items. Nice hospitality... lovely experience
Was slightly skeptic to try out Afghani food when my friend recommended the place as I wanted to go for my regular tandoori chicken n kebabs from a Mughlai restaurant. However it was a great meal that L'Amour Fou Afghan suggested me to order, good sumptuous portions and flavorful meats. Would definitely suggest people to try out a very underrated cuisine.
Ordering food from L'Amour is always a delight. They never fail to impress me, the meat is always cooked to perfection, succulent to the last bite with mouth watering flavors. I have a date with their tandoori chicken and afghani salad this valentine's day. If you're staying indoors this is the best company to have with netflix.
This was just a random choice. Went here with my Dad and relatives and didn't expect the food to be this good. Not only it tasted different from your regular Mughlai food which we have been over fed here in Kalkaji, but it also appropriately priced. Enjoyed Mutton Chopan along with Afghan Naan and let me tell you enjoyed it immensely. Qubuli Uzbegi with mutton took a little getting used to because of the raisins put in but after couple of bites I was looking get a few raisins with every mouthful. Vegetarian dishes were ordered they were good as well. Overall a wonderful experience. Highly recommend to all those looking for great flavours.

Found this lovely little gem tucked away, behind all the hustle bustle... adorned with Sheesham furniture in the simple yet crisp interior, presenting Afghani delicacies. Our host Ishan was Gracious and warm. Tried the Afghan bread and vegetarian preparations.. they were all delicious.. Borani Banjan highly recommend!.. its a fresh new place where the tastes are still yet uncorrupted by commerce!

This place serves enjoyable afghani cuisine with variety of dishes, tandoori plus other traditional dishes like Uzbeki pulao with tender pieces of lamb, mutton chopan, mutton tikka, chicken tikka, these are seasoned pieces of mutton & chicken charbroiled! The taste is just so amazing!
Amazing place. We went using google and Zomato. But almost landed at the right place. Host is really generous and food is amazing. We tried palak stew, chicken korma and yakhni. I would say all were really good.
Have been here a couple of times. Seems like a new restaurant in Kalkaji area and a remarkable one. Have tried out handful of dishes, both veg and chicken (not sure they serve any other meat). I particularly liked their Spinach stew and chicken korma with local bread. Would certainly recommend these two above other stuff on the menu.
What really sets this place apart is their service. I found the staff here really polite and always ready to help. Sounds simple but something that is tough to find in Indian restaurants in Delhi. They either go over the board with their hospitality or just treat you like a piece of trash. This restaurant is really refreshingly different in terms of their service. We give it a 5/5 for their service.

If you are a meat lover, you will be glad to discover this new Afghani food joint. We tried their
1. Mutton Chopan (salty roasted mutton shaped like pork ribs): roasted to perfection yet retains the juicy texture of the meat.
2. Pulao: Ghee-coloured rice with big chunks of smoked lamb in it. As a rice dish, came as a pleasant surprise.
3. Brinjal: spicy brinjal with a thick layer of cream on it. Quite a unique preparation with well-cooked tomatoes that melt in your mouth.
4. Mutton Qorma: The regular mutton crazy with an overdose of tomatoes. Was the only dish that managed to disappoint.
This cost us 800 for two people with tax.
The place is small but very beautifully decorated with plants and paintings. The wooden decor and the best of 80s English classics will make you feel at home!
And if nothing pleased you so far, the jovial attitude of the owners who go out of their way to please you, will surely make your experience worth remembering :)

This place opened up recently right next to my house and I was pretty intrigued considering the very fancy French name. Usually places like these, I dismiss for being too pretentious but i decided to read through the menu. To my pleasant surprise, the grammar, description etc was on point and ratings were high. So, tonight me and my girlfriend decided to order in. Chose the mutton chops, chicken yakhni and kabuli pulao.
It was delivered within half an hour, also owing to the proximity to my house. Everything smelt fragrant and appetizing.
We dug into the chops and i kid you not, bit into the most succulent, moist, well marinated, well spiced and wonderfully charred pieces of mutton we have ever had. We were blown away because this quality is perhaps expected from a very high end diner. Anyway, we ate the chops in silence for the next 15 mins.
The yakhni was light, brothy and chicken was super tender. The pulao was delicate and the rice was long grained and fluffy.
Although, the chops themselves were the absolute superstar of the meal.
We ate a lot of food but didn't feel heavy at all and it was a rather pleasant change.
Prices are reasonable for the quantity and quality of food.
Going to be spending a lot of money here in the foreseeable future!

L'Amour Fou Afghan is a perfect place to have delicious authentic Afghani cuisine. The food tastes amazing and so reasonably priced. The food is inherently flavorful, low on spices and wonderfully cooked.
Must the try: Mutton tikka which is delightfully soft and tender proudly disseminating it's flavors. Qabuli Uzbeki is their signature prepartion of rice which has gentle flavor of soft lamb, carrots and raisins. Mutton chopan is one of the most the succulent pieces of meat i have ever had! Other dishes like chicken and mutton curry are mild in flavour but beautifully cooked!
Super place, great time, quick service and value for money! Do make a trip here ASAP :)
This little place tucked around the corner serves delicious Afghani food. We started our meal with mutton chopan (a must have!), mutton tikka, chicken tikka and tandoori chicken. The perfectly-balanced spices and the juicy meat made each item finger-licking-good. I paired these up with freshly-made tandoori rotis.
Next, we had qubuli uzbegi and borani banjan. The mutton in the uzbegi was tender, and there was a generous amount of raisins in the dish. The raisins add a wonderful hint of sweetness to the rice. The banjan was spicy and perfectly complemented the uzbegi.
The restaurant is cosy, with elegant wooden furniture. Don't forget to check out the masterpieces hanging on the walls! The staff is extremely polite and courteous. The food at L'Amour Fou Afghan is made and served with love.

A totally satisfying place for any foodie. Finger licking tikkas and chops, the appetizing gravy meals, the tempting breads and a quick service. For me this restaurant is perfect for any non veg foodie or some Afghani cuisine fonder.
I had heard about this new afghani place and so decided to go there for lunch..
we ordered mutton chopan which was the yummiest juiciest mutton chops iv ever had, chicken qorma - made in tomato curry (very unique, must have), uzbeki pulao, and chicken tikka.
Everything over all was perfetly made and I must add the service and quantity was excellent.. Would love to visit again..
p.s mutton chopan and tikka must be tried.!

Living in Delhi for several years and being an ardent foodie myself, I have been to various popular restaurant serving afghan cuisine and I can tell you this is the Most Amazing Afghani Restaurant you can find in Delhi.
Most of afghan eateries here in south Delhi are for sure tasty, full of flavours, spicy but rarely well presented, too oily hence hard to digest. There's obviously a top league like Afghan Darbar,Kabul Delhi,Mazaar etc..but L'Amour Fou Afghan stands out from this range.
As this restaurant belongs to an ex student from my college, I had a very chance of visiting this joint on the very first day of the opening of it .Since it would be unfair to review this restaurant in one para,I would be rating it by paradigm.

The interiors portrays a subtle atmosphere. Unlike other afghani’s here you will not find afghan themed ambience such as afghan paintings,Pashto speaking people going in and out,Arabian styles carpet seating etc.The seating area is neat and clean with a tranquil settings.The dining tables and chairs are made of high quality woods and the walls are filled with beautiful paintings.Even though the ambience doesn’t scream Afghanistan,but then what difference does it make,I went there just for the food!!!

The reason I rated it 4 because of the three aspect: QUALITY QUANTITY AND TASTE.I ordered qubuli uzbeki,mutton chopan and okra. Surprisingly,although i ordered the for two but the after it arrived the quantity seems more than enough for two people!
The Qubuli uzbeki had a lovely medley of carrots, raisings and slightly lubricated basmati rice with a well seasoned pieces of lamb meat inside.
Mutton chopan was definitely the highlight of the menu so far. The crispy and crunchy deep fried mutton legs with the bone was nice and mouth watering but the bones were really putting me off as twice I bit into the bone. I wish that it was a boneless.One can understand why it is their signature dish. One bite and you fall in love.One feature I noticed these guys have put in some serious effort to make the mutton more softer unlike other outlets which have meat which is hard to cut through.
Last but not the least their veggie delight Okra was the tastiest ‘bhindi ki sabzi’ I had ever eaten. Cooked to perfection with tomato seasoning flowing into your mouth. Best eaten with naan and uzbeki.
So all in all their quality of dishes was great, quantity was sufficient and taste is great when u are getting freshly cooked cuisines directly from the afghan cook. Yes, u heard it right! They have an Pashto speaking Afghani cook.

Since their quantity of food was sufficient for the price they are offering it I considered it a really value for money joint. You can visit it anytime with your friends family without worrying about your finances. I even got the early bird discount!! Super VFM!

One thing I appreciate is the restaurant owner who was equally giving his full attention as he was giving to other customers. He personally took my order and made sure it arrived in time. Within a short span of time my order arrived and he was too polite to ask us to give the feedback the areas which need improvement.

The Afghans sure know their tikkas and kababs. Ordered the mutton tikka with an Afghan naan. The tikka tasted really good. Very impressive customer service by the guy who took my call. I had ordered 2 naans initially, but he called back to tell me one's good for a single person. Appreciate that. I'll look forward to my next order from this place.

'L'Amour Fou' is French for 'crazy love'. You know, the kind of love that makes you do nothing but just lie down with a smile pasted on your face, simply soaking in the satisfaction of being alive?
Guided by a generous, patient, and generously patient gentleman on the other end of the telephone line, I had ordered Mutton Chopan, Chicken Qorma, Borani Banjan, and Qubuli Uzbeki.
The signature spice that is sumac lends a tangy, tartness to the delectable Mutton Chopan. The Chicken Qorma was unlike any other variant I have had before - I could not really pinpoint one specific ingredient that made it so different. But that's alright. Sometimes, the fun lies in not knowing the secret.
The sour cream in Borani Banjan (sounds so much better than begun or baingan) adds an extra dimension to the dish; while the occasional burst of sweetness when one finds a raisin in the Qubuli Uzbeki simply tantalises the taste buds.
I don't know about the 'crazy' bit; but after the dinner, I did feel pretty lazy. You know, the kind of laziness that makes you do nothing but stretch on the bed smiling for no apparent reason, reveling in a gustatory experience that was simply gorge-ous?
It is really authentic and great Afghani food. Worth every penny spent. Would like to visit again. Highly recommended for authentic Afghani food lovers.
Just been to Kalkaji and its impossible not to visit L'Amour for authentic Afghani cuisine. L'Amour is a hidden treasure who serve typical afghan food which is full of flavours and takes you to their homeland. It has variety of veg and non veg cuisines worth trying if you really want to get a flavour of authentic afghan food. The service is fast, the waiters polite, decent portion size and reasonable priced as well. Great option to go out with friends or family.

The food does absolute justice to the name...L'Amour Fou Afghan...a small cosy place tucked in the corner.. and the food speaks volumes about the creators as they have totally managed to bring about the true afghani flavours. The food is absolutely sumptuous and delicious.. the ashak, okra and Palak in vegetarian is totally worth a try. A must visit place for all the food lovers!!

A lot of big place serve 'disappointment' in the name of afgani food but this place is not one ov them. hunt for best afgani restaurant is over cuz this place serves the most authentic and best quality afgani dishes.

Chicken qorma was nicely prepared and tasty - quantity was good.
Mutton chopan was really enjoyable - mutton chops, not too soft, neither hard - done just right and nicely flavoured and the quantity is very good for the price. This is true for all the items.
The uzbegi biryani is rich in veggies and nuts and mildly flavoured as described - goes really well with the qorma. Very enjoyable.The tandoori chicken was good.
The baingan item was well prepared and the okra was really tasty - wonderful.
The mutton chopan, chicken qorma, uzbegi biryani & the okra i would highly recommend - without being overly spicy , but highly satisfying.

L'amour Fou Afghan has the most amazing authentic afghan cuisine. The food is perfectly balanced and delightfully fragrant. However, what sets this place apart is the quaint and personal ambience that is a homage to middle eastern roots and traditions. The art work on the walls are truly inspired yet space remains modern. It is a truly inspired space to have delicious food.

When I learnt about l'amour fou Afghan, being a vegetarian I was a little apprehensive to try their dishes. Yet, their menu offers two of the most delicious vegetarian items. We tried their borani banjan and ashak. Absolutely delicious! Ashak was a refreshing break from the usual daal we have under the Indian and mughlai cuisine. It was sufficient for two people. Borani banjan was awesome as well with the spices distinctly standing out despite the sour cream garnish on it.
All in all a place definitely to go to once and again after that. the icing on the cake was their hospitable and interactive staff.

Visited the place with my friend, as you enter the place you are welcomed by magnificent yet simple setting.Sitting in any table you have a view of the workshop like kitchen.
The menu offered a wide variety of Afghani cuisine. I. was suggested Mutton Chopan and uzbeki biryani. And I must say they were exquisite. I also tried borani banjan(brinjal) and okra, which to my surprise was delicious.
Thankfully the owner and host is a young charming lad who is always around willing to exchange some kind words with his clients.
I had a pleasant experience at l'amour fou, for this reason I highly recommend this place.

Having heard so much about this place, I was a bit apprehensive considering that I am a vegetarian.
So I tried Borani banjan and okra with Afghani naan and I must say I Loved it ! It is a Paradise for vegetarians wanting to try the afghan cuisine and also the service is good and prompt.
It has a reasonable pricing considering its prime location, ambiance and portion.
The phrase "Dozing off after consuming food in Wholesome Quantity" definitely comes true if you had meal at this place.
