Review Zaika - New Delhi

Very spacious restaurant. Good clean food. Everything we ordered was fresh and falling off the bone. Portion size large , less prices than you pay at your favourite Mughlai haunt in south Delhi ! We paid 2k for a whole bunch of dishes including 2 cokes and a sweet dish .

I was suggested this place by someone yesterday , as I had to pick someone from old delhi railway , to we had very less time as he had board on flight in very next few hours , I managed to meet owner of restaurant, explaining him situation to get quick food at for us , as we were running out of time , he personally took the order and got the order prepared in promise time , the food we had Biryani was good with flavours and aroma , tandoori chicken was tender and juicy , roomali roti was at best with portion size , this place is must to visit with family, as it has good location and ambience too. This place is clean. Staff is polite and understandable. We have chicken Tandoori momos the taste was awesome. We also ordered nalli nihari ( slow-cooked mutton curry ) . This place is famous for morning time nalli nihari most of people's comes to eat it. This place is one of must visit shop's for locals.

Large variety of dishes with good ambience and most important, the food is quite good. Only problem is parking. Service is good considering the crowd.

We were in Darya ganj just to explore some old Delhi food. I must say that you can't get better Mughlai than Delhi 6. I m pure veg but should say that Mughalai is just not about Non Veg. Their paneer special is just WOW. Dal Makhani had over flavour of cinnamon so strictly ok. Their breads deserve special mention. Their breads be it butter naan, Roti or Tandoori Paratha all are the best you can have. They are as soft that you can't differentiate that if they are tandoori's or Tawa's. We ordered their kheer too but it's bland.

Indeed it is one of the best in old Delhi but my last 2 experiences were terrible. I ordered Chili Chicken with gravy and veg fried rice. Chicken was extremely hard and gravy was pathetic, felt like spitting it out after tasting one piece. Rice were soggy, they were “veg rice” instead of veg fried rice. Upon questioning they educated me that there is no difference between veg rice and veg fried rice. They have no idea how Chinese food is prepared.<br/><br/>Refrain ordering Mutton gravy items online; on my last order of Mutton Tawa, they delivered 2 pieces of meatless “mutton bones” in gravy. When i called to complain, they started grumbling with lame excuses and blamed me that i no nothing about mutton and disconnected the call abruptly.

Zaika is a family restaurant in Darya Ganj main road. It served quality none vegetarian food. The service is good and the ambience is great and family-friendly. We had kadhai chicken and chicken changezi. Both were lip-smacking in taste. I would surely recommend this place for non vegans.

Our team of 8 went to zaika. We ordered changezi, khamiri roti, mutton qorma, chicken tikka, chicken lollypop, paneer tikka. Changezi was average, chicken malai tikka was pathetic as the cream was a bit smelly and despite the price of 550 approx they served chicken breast instead of thigh portion. We had to order 4 plates for chicken lollypop as the quantity was not upto the mark. We requested chicken thigh portion for changezi however we were served breast portion again . The staff is arrogant and over confident. The only positive about the place is the ambience. Will never refer zaika to anyone as the prices do not match the quality or the quantity of food. There are better places in old delhi like jahangeer 👎🏻

I want to complain about the food packaging. I had ordered a bunch of items. The rumali roti was packed directly into a medicine package. The khamiri roti was packed directly in a Chinese package which smelled like Polish inside.<br/><br/>The restaurant can not even use a foil in 2019 ?<br/>Is the restaurant complying to Fssai standards ?<br/><br/>Request you to refrain from ordering from this restaurant.

A restaurant which serves different kinds of chicken dishes at reasonable prices...zaika's famous fried chicken is the best to have here...we also ordered chilli chicken with gravey and that was just yummy...the spicy tangy gravy with veggies (capsicum and onions) and ofcourse boneless chicken pieces was just amazing.

Family restaurant with good food and very nice environment..we tried paneer butter masala , thread chicken and kheer..everything is good...but if u are a paneer lover u shuould try their paneer lababdaar..kheer is ok ok..price are also affordable ..

The restaurant is right on the main road of Daryaganj. The restaurant have a very warm people working there. The food was really finger licking. Before I start writing about my experience, let me make clear it's not a paid review. Basically I'm a foodaholic by choice, not by professional obligations. Usually, I enjoy the relish of good food more, than taking all the pain to share my views on several platforms.<br/><br/>It won't be any exaggeration if I say, this restaurant is a "Pure Gem" amongst the ones that serve "Mughlai Cuisine" in Delhi-NCR and a 'must try' for 'nonveg-lovers'. Coming straight to the food. I ordered, 1. Mutton Seekh Kebabs (accompanied by a butter-cream gravy), 2. Roomali Roti, 3. Chicken Changezi spl (dry fruit gravy), 4. Khameri Roti, 5. Hyderabadi Mutton Biryani and 6. Lemonade Shoda.<br/><br/>I was simply blown with a heavenly joy, just after taking the first bite of the kebab. It was melt in mouth with a hint of spices and well balanced, smoky flavour of charcoal. The temptation is doubled when ordered along with their "Malai-Makkhan Gravy" (one has to ask for it at Rs. 50 additional). The kebab goes well with their "Roomali Roti". Next item was one of their speciality, "Chicken Changezi spl (dry fruit gravy)". Believe me, that was simply droolworthy on my table. Spice level of the gravy was "High" as expected, but the consistency didn't come from the regular "onion-yogurt" or "tomato" blend. The pieces of chicken were succulent, enjoyed best with fluffy and soft Khameri Roti. Hyderabadi Mutton Biryani was another reason to be delighted for. Just a quarter quantity of "Biryani" had two big chunks of mutton and a boiled egg, slit to halves. The flesh was falling of the bone and hidden in a heave of long-edge "Basmati Rice", flavoured with saffron, screwpine water, cloves and green cardamoms. Though the spice level wasn't as intense as the actual "Hyderabadi" version. Rather, it was pretty light on stomach. The chilled "Lemonade Shoda" arrived at the end to help me digest the grease and spices consumed. Oh boy, what an amazing experience came to an end finally.<br/><br/>Now, it's rating time..<br/><br/>Taste: 5/5 (overwhelmed with their quality standard)<br/><br/>Hygiene: 4/5 (Just 1 mark deducted because of the quantity of oil used, from 'health' point of view. But I think, it's not that big deal in Mughlai cuisine)<br/><br/>Service: 5/5 (Considering they open quite late on Fridays, still they managed to provide prompt service)<br/><br/>Ambience: 5/5 (quite spacious, good decor with neat maintenance)<br/><br/>Value for Money: 5/5 (I would have even rated 10 out of 5. The entire meal costed me just 830 bucks that includes three drinks as well. Keeping the market price in mind, it's next to unbelievable)<br/><br/>The restaurant is located right on the main street of Darya Ganj, near "Golcha Cinema" (nearest metro station is "Delhi Gate"). One doesn't need to be scared of the hustle and bustle in the lanes around Jama Masjid to reach here. However, the tragedy is despite being situated at a comparatively fair location, it's often overshadowed by the other giants (Karim's, Al-Jawahar, Aslam Chicken etc) within the surrounding area. In that sense, an underrated restaurant.<br/><br/>My suggestion to all the foodies out there, don't judge them looking just at their ratings. After trying "Karims" and "Al-Jawahar" a thousand times, I definitely recommend this outlet over them. Try the restaurant once at least. I bet, nobody will regret.

On the streets of main Daryaganj road. While driving through you can view the board Zaika... Good food specially for roasted items like ka abs and Tikka. Must try once.

We ordered chicken Afghani, chicken Korma and paneer lababdaar. Chicken Afghani was just superbly delicious. Chicken Korma was very average but the paneer lababdaar was great. Their khambiri rotis are very soft and tasty.<br/><br/>The staff is good enough and the ambience is decent for families.<br/><br/>Only part I hated was that the staff on the ground floor wasn't ready to keep an eye on my car and simply inform me just in case it's getting towed. Even though the car was RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEIR RESTAURANT.

A good restaurant with lot of choices to eat. Rolls are superb specially the special zaika roll.... tandoori items are also worth trying.... staff is very polite and friendly..... would recommend this for family as well as youngsters hangout place....

Giving Zaika an extra star because there are really very few restaurants which serve tasty halal food and have quite a pleasant ambience. Zaika is certainly one of them.<br/><br/>It has full occupancy almost all the times because the taste is really awesome.<br/><br/>The management needs to focus on training of employee because I feel the kind of amount they charge they can afford better staff.<br/><br/>Their Chicken Afghani and Chicken Malai Tikka are my personal favorites.<br/><br/>In Gravy Mutton Nahari and Qorma tastes really nice.<br/><br/>Biryani is just okayish.<br/><br/>Chinese is almost never available there.

Zaika is one of the more famed restaurants in daryaganj. It was recommended by a friend and I visited the place on a Friday evening. It is pocket friendly and the food is tasty. I am rating the place 3 coz of the poor attitude of the waiters. They could be a little more courteous because it is not a dhabha. People come not just for the food, but the service as well.

Probably one of the best outlet in Delhi. It serves amazing Dal makhni with wonderful flavour. It servers a very flavourful variety of non veg . We had cream chicken which was awesome. The quality of naan bread was too good we even tried rumali roti that was too good . The service is extremely good and the staff is very polite. Overall the best palce for a wonderful dineout

If you really want to try changezi chicken just go for changezi chicken shop.<br/>I ordered changezi from zaika, it was not 1% of the original changezi chicken.<br/>I will recommend chicken changezi shop next to zaika in Daryaganj.<br/>I would also request the management, not to confuse people by using dish name.<br/>It was simple chicken curry.<br/>Sorry but I expected something else.

Old Delhi, first thing that comes in mind is the delicious food made in streets of old delhi. So I placed an order with Zaika and my expectations were high from this place and they served me amazing food, delicious. I ordered mutton nihari, tandoori parantha, kheer and tandoori momos. After a long time I had such amazing mutton nihari and with tandoori parantha, the taste got doubled. Tandoori momos were damn tasty and kheer was just too good. Overall I had an amazing dinner. My all time favourite is chicken biryani. Thank you Zaika. I will be ordering more from here. Paradise for non veg food lovers.

I’m a regular customer of Zaika since 3 years now. I used to love this place, the food. I always used to take all my friends and even my parents to this place telling them that this place serves the best chicken you’ll ever find. But for few months now, the quality of the catering food has deteriorated drastically. The professionalism is going down here. The waiters don’t care if you’re here or not, you’ll have to ask them repeatedly to take your order. I once sat for literally 15 minutes in the afternoon while all of them were chatting in the corner without giving a damn about my presence. They’ve been charging me for packaged water for several times now even if I didn’t order it or returned it. <br/>WAKE UP ZAIKA, you’re way better than Kareem’s or any other place. If you pay your waiters then ask them to work rather than chit-chatting in the corner all the time, you have a huge work force. Only 2 of them are really good(I don’t know their names). Either remove your excess staff members or just teach them something. I genuinely want you to be great again. I was really embarrassed once when my parents came from Mumbai and no one came to take our order for a very long time. Zaika used to be my favourite place, now You’re losing it! <br/>All the best

Extreamly bad experience. I ordered half mutton quorma and should have received 4 mutton pieces.<br/><br/>However my order came with just 2.5 pieces of meat chunk as one chunk was very small.<br/><br/>I contacted restaurant an a guy Danish picked up the call and excepted mistake as he had rush in the kitchen today. <br/><br/>BUT WHERE AM I WRONG DID I PAY HIM PARTLY. It was a hard earned money and this restaurant does not bother to cut part from your delivery.<br/><br/>I strongly reccomand not to order from this restaurant.<br/><br/>

This place certainly live upto its name Zaika. A few metres away from metro station and very near to golcha cinema, this place is well known amongst the people. They serve dishes with simple presentation and ecxellent taste. We have ordered thread chicken which was their special, chicken coated with potato was average in taste, but their mutton seekh kebabs were outstanding, then we ordered chicken malai tandoori, and we were blown away by the taste. You have li’l options in drinks and desserts but who would order anything else when you have Phirni on the menu😍.<br/>All in all I had a wonderful experience at zaika
