Food- 3/5
Average... not great.
Service- 3/5
Very very very Slow. It took the kitchen really long... and we were the only table at the restaurant... now I know why they were empty.
Ambience- 4/5
This cute little place is a perfect place to eat for some soul comforting food. The ambience is peaceful and the staff is very courteous! And the food is perfectly cooked and the green curry was brilliant in taste. Made for a happy Friday meal :)
They could add some more items in the menu and that would make this place even a better deal!
Amazing food .. super fast service.. friendly staff.. best place to hangout.. presentation is Soo good.
Delicious.. love to come back again. š Thank you
I just love this!!!!
I stay at Lajpat Nagar, it's very close to my house. Been there more than 10 times.
Hospitality is amazing. Great food.Thai Green curry is what I like the most.
And there's a lady in that outlet, she is just amazing.. she's may be the another reason why I be there quite frequently.. she is just great in hospitality.

It's a small outlet located in the central market of lajpat nagar. Hospitality is really good and I like the way they welcome their customers. I really like their food and this was my third visit. We ordered Chicken spring roll and Thai prawn salad. Spring roll was yummy.
However the Thai prawn salad was too tangy. The sourness was more and we were not able to get taste of the salad. Need to improve on the same.
The 'tongue thai'd' is a restaurant situated very near to the central market of Lajpat Nagar. The menu offers a wide variety of 'mouth watering' starters and main course meals. All the products were fresh and the dishes had the warmth of home-made food. The chefs take great care in selecting the best quality ingredients. It's a perfect place to hangout with your friends and family. I would give 10/10 on the service too. I highly recommend going to the restaurant as it serves the best thai food.
A friend of mine go to Tongue Tthai'd almost ritually whenever we can make it to Lajpat Nagar. Ā The food is so brilliant, the ambiance so understated and unique and the music pitch perfect to match everything else, that I was almost scared that Lajpat Nagar wouldn't do it the justice it deserves. The service is fantastic but what really stands out is the food. Obviously fresh ingredients picked with care, graciously cooked to authenticity and so mouth watering that I regret not being able to make it there more than once a month. I would recommend their Masaman urry, the Pad Thai noodles and the Thai Wraps.
Amazing food. I personally eat less spicy , so this was a good taste of Asian cuisine. I had chicken stay and Malaysian Laksa curry which was very filling for two people. The mango smoothie needs spcl mention as it was very creamy and yum! Ambience is cozy and warm . Service is excellent. This was my first visit. But definitely would like to taste the other items.
V nice food. Simple and nutritious.unique seating and served on a nice biodegradable boat... rice had a good fragrance. Curry was thick n filled with good amount vegetables . My smoothie was too good.
Me and friend visited this place when we looking for more options to try in lajpat nagar market.
The place has cute and sophisticated interiors with a really welcoming and sweet owner. We ordered Thai Basil Stir Fry and Teriyaki Chicken Wings. Also we ordered shakes which were not available so we settled for coke,Ā
Good Points:
1. Great ambience. Its quite, not loud music and a great place to have a conversation. Interiors are colourful and cheerful.
2. Friendly and quick service.
3. Jasmine RiceĀ
4. We paid 650 approximately, which we found to be worthy .
Neutral Ā -
1. Food : Probably because we love spicy food, we found the food to be a bit bland, Thai Basil Stir Fry especially. My friend especially asked to make his chicken wings extra spicy , but still didn't meet up to his expectations!Ā
Can Be Improved:
1. All items in the menu could be present.
2. Ā More variety in menu for spicy food?Ā
Would I go their again? Yes probably, a lot on menu is yet to be explored.
All the Thai curries are amazingly smooth in texture and subtle but flavourful.
For recommendations on ordering, it's best to chat with the owner of this place, and you will not be disappointed.
Such a nice little place to enjoy some great conversations, alongside delectable Thai food. We were a group of 6-7 people, who met at this place to read and discuss a book together. And it was such a perfect place, with the sophisticated decor, minimum noise levels, and good quality food, that we thoroughly enjoyed our time at this place. Definitely recommend people staying around to visit.
Special mention to their Green and Red Thai Curries, and of course, the Pad Thai noodles! All the dishes were so delicious. :)
Offering contemplating space amidst the hustle-bustle of lajpat nagar market, Tongue Thai'd not just introduces but ensures a smooth transition of a non-culinary into a gastronome. Contemporary design, well-read and suggestive owners (Darshika and Amit) sincerely guide you through the exotic trajectory of Thai cuisine. The place is surely restful. Certainly, the visitors have had their concern with respect to seating, personally I appreciate the place for the innovative and unconventional seating arrangement. The food preparation speaks for the quality of ingredients used. Must try- masaman and green curry, chicken satay, wok stir fry noodles, pad Thai noodles, lettuce chicken wraps, khao suey, in short every item on the menu. It would be hitting it's first anniversary on July 13 and the lovely couple owning it are ready for revamping their menu as they are set to add a few Indian Chinese delicacies, keeping intact the original items. Overall, an extremely positive place for a healthy dining experience.
Had one of the best dinners in past few weeks. Amazing service, even better food. Amit, the captain of the ship, was kind enough to explain what goes in making of every dish, thus helping us in deciding what to have. We ordered Massaman Curry and Wok Stir Fry Noodles. It tasted great. Must try for people in and around Lajpat Nagar looking to try some interesting food.
The owners are really warm and welcoming. The food is even better, right next to the market. The suggestions by the owners were on spot and I have never been disappointed
The place has an awesome ambience.
I just loved the way the owner greets people. I have never seen such warm welcome for the guests in a restaurant.
The food tastes great and the veges are so fresh. The food has less oil and is not very spicy . I have finally found my place of healthy yet tasty food.
Coffee is a must take. I have had my best mug of coffee here.

It is a cute little place that has really great Thai food. The natural and fresh flavours of the food are amazing. A refreshing place to hangout. The music is soft and lets you have a good conversation. Have tried quite a few items from the menu and they all are quite good. Keep it up! š
Good food but portions small; good decor but no backrest on the seats. I guess...lots to improve to make this place much more happening and to survive with the competition.
A surprise packet. Chanced upon this place in Lajpat Nagar. The food was really tasty. We ordered Lemon Coriander Soup, Tempura and Chicken satay. Since the options were limited no unnecessary confusions on ordering. Ā Having tasted Thai in many restaurants, the food here was beyond expectations. The staff were courteous. The serving time is little longer but the taste did not make us grumble. A place to be tried
I went to this place with my friends and thoroughly enjoyed eating there. The food was ausum and the host/owner was extremely nice. I have never really like traditional Thai but I loved it here. It is a beautiful place decorated with colour and sophistication. We ordered the following:
1) Chicken Satay: The flavours were new but tasty.
2) Pad thai noodles: The taste was authentic Thai but it wasn't bland. The flavour was subtle but very delicious
3) Chinese kung pao: Traditionally it is dry but the owner asked our preference and gave it to us with gravy. The Jasmine rice was heavenly and cooked to perfection; so was the gravy. I just thought that the chicken pieces were too less, merely 4-5 small chicken strips
The reason I have not given a full 5 is because of the following negatives:
1) The cutlery was plastic and made it difficult to eat the food. Also the restaurant does not have any serving spoons. So it becomes difficult to take food from the plastic cutlery
2) The lemongrass tea and the ginger, lemon, honey tea were not nice. We found them really bland and lackluster in taste.
3) Do not go by the Zomato price estimate. Since the portions are small, our bill came around Rs 1000 for 2 and not Rs 500 for 2.
I ordered for a whole lot of variety of stuff and everything was absolutely lovely.
Taste ,quantity and quality was all perfect.
Portions of every dish was good. I actually over ordered it turned out after I saw the quantity.
I would definitely recommend this place for sure.
And my sister doesn't really like thai food. But I guess she's eaten at the wrong places until now. She enjoyed everything that we ordered .
It is a place that leaves you feeling good. The owner is very pleasant to speak to and takes personal order. We ordered Ginger Lemon Tea, Chicken Satay and Khow Suey. The Chicken Satay was the best and a must try. I loved the Khow Suey too but my friend did not. It is very authentic so if you do not like blend food maybe you will not enjoy it. The lemon tea was delicious and the owner took personal care and made it herself. The gesture made us feel very warm. I will definitely go back to this place to try more dishes.
It is not very very light on the pocket but it is definitely worth the money.
Nice and warm hospitality.
Brilliant food- authentic and nothing over the top.
Reasonably priced meal in the end.
Easily the best thai food I had in India so far.
If you want hearty portions of fresh and delicious Thai food, Tongue Thai'd is the place to be! We came across this cozyĀ restaurant after a long day shopping at the bustling Lajpat Nagar Central market and were extremely impressed with the minimalist but warm interiors and delicious-sounding (although a bit limited) menu. Try the chicken satay skewers (perfectly cooked and accompanied by a creamy peanut sauce), Ā the pad thai (tweaked a little to suit the Indian palate, but still yum), and the delightfully coconutty Burmese Khao Suey. The staff is extremely friendly, and owner, Amit, was super helpful and outgoing, which adds to the great experience!
Beware: It is almost impossible to find parking in the area, so be prepared to walk!
Amazing food ,amazing hospitality, owner is very nice and courteous ,had ordered phad Thai and kungpao which was nicely made and not spicy at all (you can get it customised since everything is made fresh on order) , will be ordering again very soon
This place occupies a quiet little corner in the otherwise crowded Central Market. The owners treat you like a guest and are warm and welcoming.
The food? It's delicious. Try soup with noodles and it will fill up your stomach for the evening.
Awesomest Thai curry I had around my area!!
So deviously cook šš¼šš¼ and the jasmine rice was icing on the cake.. loved it !! Very aromatic too!!
This place is very close to our office so very convenient. I loved their vegetarian rice paper rolls and veg tempura. Their curries are also flavourful. Good Thai flavours.
Ambience - Cozy and Chilled out
Hostess - Very warm and endearing
Food - Healthy, not oily or heavy, clean flavours, leaves you feeling light after you eat.
Cleanliness - Super clean
Our order - rice paper rolls, chicken satay, chicken khao suey.
Over all the food was flavourful and light, but could do with a little more punch. Loved it though!
Does it burn a hole in your pocket? Definitely NOT!
My comments - Welcome break from the regular scene. What sets this place apart is the rusticity, despite it being in a crowded place. Your orders are proactively decided on between the hostess and you in a friendly banter (the human touch). Something very much lacking in most of the establishments. I have to mention that they serve in organic degradable dishes, thus reducing their carbon footprint.
Definitely going back!

We had tom yum soup, chicken satay, pad thai noodles, and chinese kung pao... all the foods are too good and the hospitality is remarkable. Moreover they use all bio degradable items to serve food. They use supari patta as crockery. Really impressed
We tried this place for the first time and quite liked it. Food was great in both quality and quantity, with subtle and varied flavors. We had picked tomkha soup, green and yellow curries, lettuce wraps and flat rice noodles. All of them were great. The rice was done very well and is stomach-filling. For the first time I had noodles that were not dripping oil and oozing garlic and chilli. The dƩcor was simple and neat and the place was very clean. The hostess was great company and guided us well. My son enjoyed it a lot and made me write this review, a first for me.
In terms of improvement, the menu certainly needs to offer more choices. Tanginess of food can be toned down a bit.
By far the best Thai food in a budget. Very clean and simple ambience. Loved the dessert of the day!!! Menu is restricted however I am looking forward for more items to come up in your menu.
Tongue Thai'd is a welcome break from monotony of food habits in Lajpat Nagar. A small yet tidy, simple yet stylish decor just adds to the fresh and fun flavours so akin to the Thai cuisine. If you are a fan of freshness, zingyness and love distinct flavours of a dish to shine through, then you are at the right place. All this and more at an incredibly reasonable price. You would wonder why should I pay more at a fine dine for a dish that I can get right next door at the same ambience. Yes, the location of the place is a little difficult if you want to drive down but you can always uber your ride. Its a quick fix to your hunger strike but without compromising distinct Thai flavours for which its globally known. The quantity of serving is quite generous. I suggest you go and hog but duck it if you are a fan of Indian Chinese style as then you won't like it.
Happen to be here accidentally. I must say this place didn't disappoint us.
Amazing food and the host is really caring and he does knows how to take care of his customer
Economical and great thai food. Must try!
Massaman yellow curry
Sesame noodles
Som Tum
Chicken satay
Pad Thai
Chia pudding
Its near bikaner sweets.
I just had my first Thai experience at Thai tinge and I have to admit it was beyond expression.. My first thai experience was perfect . And I left my order to their specialty, and it was certainly yum and I'm sure I'll return all the way back to Delhi for one more Thai wow š
In a seemingly bustling market, this place is an anomaly with its next door cafe like and quiet interiors. The food is authentically Thai. I had ordered for veg pad Thai noodles and wasn't disappointed one bit. It was a delicious plate of food and I enjoyed every bite off the plate. Thank you Amit for being a gracious host. All the best to you! Please do visit this place and be bowled over with flavours. Food for the tongue!! :D

āThai food is expensive, thatās why you refrain from trying this cuisine!ā ā I responded to a very close friend (identity deliberately not disclosed) with broad eyes and high tone after her lame excuse of not visiting Tongue Thaiād..
Before I introduce myself, it important for me to let everyone know that this is the first time I am writing a review for anyone, I repeat anyone! And it is purely because this food has touched my heart, tickled my taste buds and suited the pocket (as quoted by my husband) so bad that I want this atleast once a week!
Coming from a typical working class background and having a husband stricter than any father, I generally have two meals a week outside ā complimenting the traditional āfriends catching upā or shopping excursions with mom. However, from the day I have eaten at Tongue Thaiād, I have dedicated one meal a week to this place. Itās not only the taste that attracts me, but also the quality and standard that they have maintain impeccably. I was pleasantly surprised by the high standards of hygiene which I saw in the restaurant ā guided tour by the owner himself. The dishes in the menu are unique with recipes curated from various parts of the world. I want to reiterate here, when I walked into this place, I only know 5% about Thai cuisine ā but going to this restaurant has made me wiser, informing me about the best practices/ traditions of the Thai.
This is a must go for everyone who wants to try a new cuisine, loves Thai/ Asian Food, likes places with personal touch, etc. etc. ā basically for anything & everything.
This one has really got my tongue thaiād (read tied) Kudos to the owner!
As an indian food lover, thai food in India is not my cup of tea but I must say I had Pad Thai and I felt like in Thailand. The savours are authentic and transport you in Thailand.
Furthermore I really enjoyed the design of the place which is very unique in this market.
A restaurant worth a visit, for an authentic thai dish or a capuccino and desert.
I will be back to try some more dishes on their menu.
I had passed through this restaurant but never been in it. So this Saturday I decided to drop in. Although I don't savour Thai food because it has coconut in it which I don't like, I decided to try a Phanaeng. It was really very tasty. Very fresh and I couldn't even get a hint of coconut in it. The Ambience was also good and the service was also fine (considering the fact that they make it fresh). All in all, it was one of the best Thai food I've ever had and it was an enjoyable experience.
After a hectic shopping day with wife, I came across this new restaurant. The ambience was eye catching , and we decided to try the food. The kitchen was visible (and clean) and the service was quick.
My picks were Pad Thai and Red curry/. The food is amazing and authentic.Ā
Will come back for sure.
my advice: Don't miss this restaurant
Real authentic thai food. All I have got to say. Will come back soon. We came here on a weekday to celebrate out friends birthday, and the ambience, service food, turn around time was par excellence. Please keep it up.
Service: 5/5
Ambiance: 5/5
Menu: 4/5
Food: 5/5
USP: no preservatives, taste enhancers, freshly chopped vegetables, kitchen made curries, vicinity milk and other ingredients.
I'm not a big fan of Thai food because of the unpleasant experiences I've had in the past in a few Thai restaurants. So I was skeptical when I entered Tongue Thai'd. Honestly, I was looking to eat some momos, because Dolma Aunty's momos place ran out of chicken momos.
We were on the verge of leaving the restaurant, then we were greeted by the founder and restaurant - Amit. Must I say, by far he is the sweetest and most professional restaurant manager I've come across in Delhi. Amit nicely informed about their limited and finally selected menu. I was very impressed.
We ordered Pad Thai noodles, Lettuce Wraps and Cappuccino.
And I've got two words - Mind Blown!
We are definitely coming here again. And are looking forward to trying other items in the menu.
Oh boy! The food, the service blew my mind away. Served hot with the aroma of lovely spices and fresh veggies. Do try the green papaya salad-worth every penny spent! Oh, and the pad thai noodles one expression YUM!! A quaint place will host all!!
I normally do not write reviews but this experience is worth one .Great ambience & cozy seating. The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation - very pleasing. I had PadThai & red curry and yes it did blew my mind!!!!
Special thanks to Amit the owner, Darshika for making this dinner so special and make me feel at home.
Will be back soon for more :)
A super exhausting day had an happy ending when I stumbled upon this tiny restaurant in middle of busy lajpath market. Darshika , the co-owner was kind enough to sit with me while she talked about just how much she loved Thai food and her attempt to spread her love for the same. Coming to my review:Ā
I ordered for flat noodles ( I have not really loved Thai) but it was absolutely the most delicious noodles I have had till date. The tamrind sauce and traditional coconut garnish was the winner.Ā
Along with that I had a coke (priced at MRP :D)Ā
I did see a group of old women having the dessert for the day and ordered one for myself. Chia seed pudding is ridiculous expensive at most places, but had a very Ā decent price here. Plus Darshika told me that they add only fresh seasonal fruits to it. Talk about healthy .
Look forward to new things on the menu and a done visit once I am back in Delhi.
Awesome Food,
Ā Cozy ambiance and friendly staff,Ā
overall I loved the placeĀ
and will be looking forward to try out more of their dishes.
We happen to find it when looking for some random eats like burger which is good and also does not cost us much. Once inside I found on the menu varioua curries which I was not sure would taste good. But to my surprise beautifully made, chicken was too good; gravy was thick and hot. It reminded my cousin her 'nani ka khana'. Very afforadable prices.
Will surely visit again for more :)
We went to this place, because is seemed very new. The interiors were simple but done well. It is reminiscent of a small coffee shop where you would sit for hours with school friends.
We had the chicken satay as the starter. The quantity was good, and the peanut sauce was yummy. For the main course, we initially ordered rice and yellow curry (chicken). The presentation was great, and the food was fresh and delicious. The gravy is a little thicker and had more flavour than the usual Thai fare you get.
Because of my extreme curiosity to try something different, I ordered a 'Toasted Coconut Noodles'. It was dry noodles, with a tangy flavour. You could avoid it if you are not really a fan of experimentation. One starter and a main course was sufficient for a couple for dinner.
We finished the meal with a Chia Pudding. Since a different pudding is made every day, it is a good element of novelty. The dessert was quite sweet, and was enough for 1 person.
Ambience - 3.5/5
Freshness of food - 5/5
Quantity - 4/5
Variety - 3/5
Taste - I cannot really give a rating because it is a niche exclusive cuisine. They do not compromise with diluting the cuisine, but for someone who is not familiar with Thai, it is quite alien and intimidating
LOVEDDD the place! :D
Went there for Sunday lunch. Beautiful cozy ambience.
We ordered chicken satay noodles, lemongrass tea, and dessert of the day which was coconut cake with mango and coconut sauce.
Awesome food. Great quantity and quality. Very mildly spiced.
Dessert was with perfect amount of sweetness. Great combination of flavours.
Can't wait to try out more of their dishes.
:)
So me and my friends were eyeing this place to open up and voila it is open!
I was alone so tried only the salad but I am going there for sure again.
Staff or actually the owner is a hands on person with taking feedback from me on everything. The service was quick and I ordered on Salad and tea for my curiosity to die. Overall a full review is awaited.
Delicious food-Colour,flavour,texture,aroma(all is been kept quite well into consideration).
Well done team Tongue Thai'd !!!
Keep Up the good work.
Howdie guys!!
So another joint opened up around the corner and cant stop myself to try it out. Firstly, I was amazed by the concept of authentic thai food in center of Lajpat Nagar market. Once I entered the place i was like transferred to some place in Hauz Khas or a big restaurant in a mall. The interiors were so amazing that I was sure that I am on for a treat Boss!! So, I was greeted by mr Amit ( owner ) , I am sorry I thought he was the manager ... but was so polite and well spoken. I have seen owners working with staff only in Europe or North America but not in Delhi. I tried raw papaya salad to start with and it was a delicacy..The taste, the aroma, the perfect balance of taste and the freshness of vegetables was kept in mind, the acidic properties of some vegetables were totally taken care of. I, also order chicken satay which was not upto the mark and I told the owner so he was happy to replace it for me. š Then, I ordered Pad thai ... It was the best Pad thai Ive ever had in Delhi. Their USP being they are serving everything fresh. They are trying to use almost everything without preservatives and eco-friendly plates and forks. Then, on request of owner I tried their sesame noodles. Honestly, I would have never ordered that but thanks to Mr. Amit he made me try this super speciality noodles and taking me off those all time boring chilly garlic or hakka noodles. I will always be ordering these. On the whole, the guy knows his job and he is trying to do it honestly and making their guests feel comfortable. The price doesn't burn your pockets. I would definitely recommend the place and will be coming to try out something healthy and delicious.
Ambience 10/10
Food. 8.5/10
Service. 9/10
Yes I Am Thai'd !!!!
Keep it Up Team Tongue Thai'd
"Now open" "We are serving now" is what we saw at entrance of this bright and neat beanery. Curiosity bought us to foot and we were looking at a modest menu inside. The owner himself introduced us to the dishes on offing. On his recommendations we started our glut with Som Tum (Raw papaya salad). Served on eco friendly Areca leaf platter, the salad was Fresh, fulfilling and flavourful. For the main course, we were recommended Sesame Noodles with Red Curry. The noodles were cooked to perfection. The taste, aroma and freshness of the ingredients used could be felt distinctively on each mouthful. A departure from the overwhelmingly spiced gravy perceived by me on past experience; the Red Curry was mild and not extreme. The coconut milk used was fresh and tweaked the potency of other spices to suit the palette. The portions were bountiful and very satisfying. Albeit, we still were tempted to order another main course. Noodles with peanut sauce was the calling and what was served : again exceptional !
Authentic Thai cuisine served by wonderful owners. Love the details in food. Consistency in the food is simply wonderful and they never disappoint me. Don't recommend this if you want a Indian-version of Thai. This is Authentic Thai! and the food is too good!
It is a wonderful little place that has some authentic Thai food.
