People who wants to taste Kashmiri dishes in GK / Nehuru Place, one of the finest place is Samavar ! Spacious and reasonable place to chill out. Won’t be available much options and sea food but will have multiple options for chicken, Mutton, Fish and veggie. Right place for to mix with best cocktails.
Siddharth Nigam
Simply an awesome place. Dont go on the kind of entrance they have with some very washed out color board.
Inside you go and its a total change. Amazing authentic food.
Drinks are very CHEAP! Cant beat the statement anywhere.
Do not try Frnech Fries, they are not good at it but yes, try some Gravy Dishes and u vl fall in love.
Must try Mutton Yakhni. It s is very delectable.
Sameer Panda
Very nice place for authentic Kashmiri food. Lots of parking space. Mutton Rista recipe is really nice.

Excellent food at cheaper rates especially a Family Package which is only 1500 rupees for four persons of the family with Unlimited Food whether it is Starters or a Main Course but Alcohol is chargeable. But but the Service is ok ok .

Located in Pampaosh Enclave , Greater Kailash 1 .
This place won’t disappoint you . Cheap and best food . Really really cheap drinks .
Good parking !

Food was good but not to my taste ....mutton was soft and juicy..

Quite and simple place, good parking space in front of the club. Good if you want to hold beers and watching any sports.. Service and food are good. One should visit this place for corporate meetings with affordable menu.
Shubham Singh
The location is good near Chirag delhi metro station. The metro station is just 2km from this location. The location is quite good for business people not recommended for family people. Because the quality of the starter was not good. For drinks it's a good place to sit with friends. They have a lawn too where you can do the party and all.
Raveena Ahlawat
Nice place.. get yourself a drink.. decent crowd.. go with your group or alone.. doesn't matter .. nice menu with veg and non veg dishes soups are available.. affordable place.
Jijo Francis
The food was just wow. The ambience is good. Lighting was also adequate. Hence, this place provides you with a ideal venue if you are looking for a place to talk and interact with your friends or family over food and drinks. The place gets crowded at times and service may thus be a bit slow, but the food makes up for all of it.
Vipin Bhat
Best kashmiri authentic cuisine great ambience but the delivery was slow. But if one is looking for actual kashmiri delicacies, this is the right place i mean a bit of waiting is qorth it
Shuvam
This is Kashmiri Restaurant, It serves liquor and situated in Greater Kailash. the quantity of food is awesome and the offer they have with the Liquor is amazing.

Overall excellent food preparation but no professionalism

I love the non veg and totally nice place for non veg lover😋

NEVER BUY FROM THEM <br/>I PAID Rs 250 ONLY TO GET A SMALL BOX OF HAAK.<br/>THEY ARE CHEATS. THEY WILL ROB YOU OFF YOUR MONEY. <br/>CHARGE FOR 1 KG AND DELIVER 250 GRAMS. NEVER BUY FROM THEM

We had heard a lot about this place as serving authentic kashmiri cuisine. It was however a big disappointment!!! The kabhargah was bland and dry. The mutton yakhni was tasteless. Even the kehwa was bad. Basically, its a rip off!!!
Kajal
Being from J&K i went to this much hyped Kashmiri place for good authentic food but to my utter disappointment the food was so basic. Nothing Kashmiri about it other than the name. The masala used as well as the preparation was so bad. Moreover for the price they charge, they are a complete rip off
Sarthak Bali
This is a good place to hang out with your boy squad as this place offers very reasonable prices for the drinks and its very afforable. The food was decent. I somehow expected more tasty food. Rest everything was fine.

Perfect place to go with ur talkative friends, sales parties, office get together... Good atmosphere.. Easy to reach.. Offers on drinks... Amazing good... Especially dal. Makhani... U will love it with drinks.. Must visit for all sales professionals

Samawar a place where you can Kashmiri dishes <br/><br/>Best things are the types of mutton . <br/><br/>Mutton goshtaba , mutton rista , mutton meat balls is must eat . Place is good but as drinks are very cheap not a good place to bring your family.
SathyaDeep
It’s a good place to have food at, as the name is the place is good enough to have Kashmiri food. The aura of the place is really good, and the staff are very well versed. The only setback they have is that they take little time to serve the food, but still if going with family then it doesn’t matter that much till the time one is having a good conversation. :)
Vibhuti P
Extremely pathetic service. One of my friend's engagement was there. First of all, the hall wasn't decorated at all. The washroom was in a terrible condition. Their utensils were also not cleaned properly. We had to ask them to clean it again.
Tushar Garg
Very bad place to visit with family<br/>This place is only for people who drink<br/>Service is very slow<br/>Food quality is very bad<br/>Nothing like Kashmiri food.<br/>Ambience is bad<br/>
Arjita Bhan
The food is great! Being a Kashmiri, I travel from Gurgaon to eat here because I think they serve the most authentic Kashmiri food in Delhi NCR!
Rahul Ahuja
Went to this place with my family for dinner after hearing a lot about the Authentic kashmiri dishes. <br/>Ordered a few starters mutton khabarga , mutton tikka and veg corn soup. ( it was cooked properly but the dishes had no taste to had to sprinkle a lot of chaat masala on it... tikka was basically mutton seekh kabab into pieces ).<br/>Got total 8 papads (4*2) complimentary. <br/>Ordered roghan josh ( was basically mutton in red gravy).<br/>Even though the staff was really polite but the service was way too slow and had to wait a lot. <br/><br/>The place has a really big parking space and it’s Good for gossiping and sipping beers with starters or nuts.
SUNIL SUMBLI
Yesterday I visited this place after knowing this place is there since long but was totally disappointed with the quality of food which they call kashmiri dishes. The dishes they serve have only kashmiri name but nothing kashmiri. I had invited my whole family but was disappointed with the food.<br/><br/>My sincere request to the owners is kindly serve kashmiri food that tastes also kashmiri. We had come with lot of hope from Gurgaon.
Saurabh Gupta
Good old Kashmiri club. Kashmiri food could be disappointing for few Delhi-ites as they serve authentic Kashmiri wazwaan, which is a bit bland to the taste. Few dishes are executed well here and others are a big no no. For example, don't go for their rista our goustaba. tabac Maas and rogan josh is good. So id their mutton seekh. <br/>This is not a restaurant but a relaxed club full of old age members. So, you have to be patient with their service like a gentleman. Looking at their prices for liquor and food you have to give them a 4 star rating. Go there and you won't be disappointed with the regular North Indian food. A good place to start the evening. <br/>Ambience: 3/5<br/>taste: 4/5<br/>service: 2/5<br/>location: 5/5<br/>food quality: 5/5<br/><br/>thanks and regards
Sujay Dhar
Food is kinda ok.... But please make sure you double check with the restaurant before you go as sometimes, they are booked for a party but don't bother to tell you that they are open for a La Carte.
Aditi Singh
Diwali party was hosted at this place and I tried their food. Food was very good and fresh. Specially Dal makhni, Veg biryani, corn palak and creme salad. One can give a try.
Aditya Srivastava
This is the go to place for good cheap booze and nice starters! They even put those classical songs and ghazals to get the mood going 😂<br/>The service can be improved a bit. Wouldn't recommend as a family dinner place though.

Was surprised to see the old-school typical bar-cum-restaurant setting with servers not in uniform. Yes, its just a cheap place to have some quick meal and drinks. My first time experience was bad. Went there waited for 20 mins for someone to clean the table and offer us a seat. But servers were too busy to attend to my request. I simply walked out. And never going there again. I hope others surely had a great experience. Anyways, I loved the fact that the place had ample free parking. Cheers!

Samavar was always in the my list for ordering Kashmiri food and I tried it on the 04 th of Nov 2018. I ordered Mutton Gushtaba (Pounded mutton balls in curd based white gravy), Mutton Rista (Pounded mutton balls in red saffron based gravy) and Dal-a-samvar chefs special dal and it all was fabulous. There gravies were not onion and tomato based and were very close to authentic Kashmiri taste, Dal was outstanding and thick according to my liking. They have special and distinctive spices and flavours which makes them unique. I really enjoyed my meal along with my friends. Worth trying. <br/><br/>Do follow me for more such reviews and do like if you find my review informative and useful.
Saksham Munshi
Extremely poor service. I have never experienced this bad of a service since my childhood.<br/>They literally have only 1 member which they claim as their staff.<br/><br/>I had order 10 days ago and I am still seating at the restaurant.
Gautham
Hi, I have always loved food from here because it’s perhaps the only place that has authentic Kashmiri food. But very disappointed today. I ordered for gustaba and I was served stale meat.
Abhinav Gupta
extremely pocket friendly kashmiri and north Indian food with a bar that doesn't puncture your pockets badly.<br/><br/>Kashmiri Thaali is definitely the thing to try. can probably improve the interior and lighting coz their location is beyond amazing
Self Spiritual
Well this a favorite hangout for people of Kashmiri origin especially Kashmiri pandits who organise their functions and celebrations here. And since places serving Kashmiri cuisine are very few in Delhi NCR this place become more of a compulsion in the absence of alternative places. This being know to the owners is taken full advantage of. The service standards are appalling if one were to really look at it. The waiters are dirty and use the same pair of hands to handle food as well as garbage without washing (eek). You have to see it to be disgusted about eating anything there. <br/>Anyway the review. We were invited to a dinner for a small function of a relative. Gathering size about 50. Now the issues :<br/>Unclean waiters picking garbage and then serving food. <br/>Green salad not washed and cleaned properly. You could see black fungus in onion rings and traces of soil in carrots. Not to mention a decaying portion of cucumber as well<br/>The place ran out of food literally. The last ones to eat would have had to scrape bottoms. Checked with the host. They had placed the order for catering for 60 people. The plates remained but the food didn't. What an irony. <br/>The food went cold and the Indian breads became inedible. <br/>Garbage can just adjacent to the food. Not a pleasant sight when you are filling your plate.<br/>Service very slow and you feel as if you are guilty of asking. <br/>Cleanliness was never a trait of this place and I guess never will be. Dirty chairs. Dirty corners and above all a very dirty stage for the groom and the bride with exceptionally dirty carpets. <br/>AC not effective or I suspect they turned off some to save money - very substandard <br/>And finally the shocker : The waiters hide water bottles from sight and keep under the tables. You had to shout at them to tell them why have they not put the drinking water bottles on the table where they should be and why they were not refilling the soft drinks. <br/>Overall a very pathetic experience. I feel sorry for the host who would have paid through his nose for such substandard experience. <br/>One note for all people considering this place : have everything in writing and have a contract with a penalty clause. Believe me you will need it. <br/><br/>Words can not express all here. I am happy to be contacted here for a more detailed and Harish description of what all transpired at Samavar. <br/>

Cannot vouch for authenticity of recipe, though food is descent. <br/>Need to invest more on upkeep and staff hygiene. Serving staff were shabby, unkempt.
Rachit Gulati
This place is a (hidden?) gem! The paneer tikka, the chicken tikka, the dal, the paneer, the tandoori rotis - all were really flavoursome! The service was prompt and the interiors are also quite cozy. Reasonably priced place as well!
Through My Lens
I visited this place on a relatively quiet day and therefore the service was rather quick.<br/><br/>I had the achari chicken tikka and haryali paneer tikka. Both were soft and tasted good. The Dal was ordinary and the breads were okayish too. Nice overall experience.
Sai Vinayak Raina
I am writing this review after visiting the place almost a dozen times and I am always amazed by the quality of food they serve . In short this is one of the best places in Delhi NCR to have authentic Kashmiri quisine be it veg or non veg . Highly recommended for people who love to taste different quisines and for die hard lovers of Kashmiri food. Just go for it. !!!!!!
Anupa Skumar
Ordered rista, dhaniwal korma and kebabs. Kebabs were very chewy. Not the typical Kashmiri kebabs. None of the recipes were surprisingly the typical Kashmiri wazwan taste. Preparation of mutton was ok but all the dishes were looking like some other recipe, not Kashmiri.
Sharan Jeet Singh
the chicken used smelt like hell... it wasn't fresh
Jasdeep Singh
I been there after read reviews about this place and especially for Kashmiri food ambience is very nice very decent environment staff is very helpful, service is quite good and main thing is you can choose your dish in 2 ways either in Kashmiri way or in indian way. Very good experience

Pathetic ... pls don’t order from here ... they don’t care about customer and mess up orders ... they never read my instructions ... then we’re not willing to cancel my order and refund me ... cheats

Most useless place....under staffed, it is a torture for the employees serving you<br/><br/>The management should seriously re-think of operating the restaurant. You can keep waiting

Nudr Mound tikka (lotus stem) needs a baked or roast version instead of deep fry. Taste is good, always improvement are welcome.

Nice place with good options to choose from. Food was nice and drinks were reasonable. Must try mutton rogan.. Not much options available in beers.<br/><br/>Suggestions: Please add good options in beer menu

Pathetic food

Naduroo Mund tikka needs more ginger and very less chilli, ok ! Score 65%.<br/>Size of chicken (roasted or afghani) is substantially reduced in last one year. However, taste (flavour or aroma) is at 70%. Ok !
Arup Bose
Really authentic cusine and great food. It is worth the wait as they prepare the food fresh.
Mir Adeen
please dont buy from this.....i ordered hydrabadi biryani from..here..it was so bad..chicken was not prepared well...i recommend ..eat nothing..instead of buying it from here ..

Kashmiri cuisine here may not be according to your liking but other stuff is good. The place is good, and the home delivery is good as well. Do try the Butter Chicken.

If you have a craving for Kashmiri Food in south Delhi this can be an alternative considering the price and taste. Rista is recommended all time favorite.

Tandoori Cooking time is more. Variety of ethnic vegetarian Kashmiri entrees/starters are less. <br/>Next time Bank card machine, required. Sending receipt is good accounting practice. <br/>Include exotic meats in tandoori selection. (Duck, free range chicken, trout, turkey etc). <br/>No discounts and Offers. Avoid red chilli /colour in everything tandoori. <br/>Please don't function like a lack lustre government canteen. <br/><br/>Overall, there is hope for higher quality and better offers. Thanks!
Raj Raina
Tandoori chicken score 70%. <br/>Naduroo Mund Tikka score 70% (reduce the red chilli powder use, please). <br/><br/>Cooking time taken is below average. Time management of kitchen is a weakness. Why ? <br/>Your cooking team needs to be accountable. Ok ! <br/><br/>Quality and time. Both are basic expectations for all customers. Ok ! <br/><br/>Always cooking is 15-30 minutes late, why ? <br/>Hope future will be better in "kitchen time management" (time score 30%) , ok ! <br/>
Vaibhav Kharbanda
The standard of this restaurant is falling apart day by day... I ordered kishmish cuisine, which was not up to the taste I expected, the hygiene of this place is not gud.. As the crockery in which they serve are not cleaned and they have a very poor service.. Not going there anymore.. Indeed<br/>
Raj Raina
Tandoori food taste is good. <br/>Lower prices or offers are required. <br/>tandoori cuisine cooking time needs improvement, ok ! <br/>Their Ethnic Kashmiri (ethnic breads and bakery) need to included in menu.
Raj Raina
Afghani chicken is good, score 70%. <br/><br/>However, nadroo churma (deep fried lotus stem) score 20% was oddly with overloaded red chilli and too much flour batter like a low grade pakodas. <br/><br/>Pricing is slightly higher.
Piyush Saini
Very cheap prices for alcohol and food taste is amazing for almost all food with good quantity. My favourite one is Kashmiri mutton rogan josh, honey chilli Potatoes, egg bhurgi, paneer adraki, dal, lemon coriander soup, chicken steam kebab, mutton seekh, butter chicken

To be honest I'm giving 4 star only because of the food......<br/>So i've visited Samavar today which is located at Greater Kailash Part 1 of Delhi..<br/>It's a restaurant cum bar....About the service it was very slow....May be they have limited space in Kitchen ans that forced me to click the 4 star button...<br/><br/>They are specialized only in Kashmiri Food so ordering other food, wont do a justice...<br/><br/>I have Tried 'n' Tasted<br/><br/>Kabargah which is a Kashmiri Cuisine. These are lambs ribs which are deep fried...If you are not too health cautious then this is the dish you should look out for...<br/><br/>Then followed by a main course and we ordered<br/>Rista which are meatballs in a fiery red gravy and had Dry Fruits Kashmiri Pulao...<br/><br/>Overall we enjoyed the food journey except the slow service part....<br/><br/>Even the ambience is good with comfortable chairs......
Shreya Banerjee
Ambience- 3.5/5<br/>The decoration is nice with appropriate amount of seating.<br/><br/>Service- 4/5<br/>The service staff is well groomed and polite. They are always ready to help the guest and are very interactive. They have quick service. Just one thing that disappointed me was that the restaurant is a little under staffed and the service staff gets really hassled in case all the tables are occupied.<br/><br/>Food- 4.5/5<br/>We had ordered fish finger, amritsari fish Tikka, ajvaaini paneer Tikka, peanut masala and mutton seekh kebab for appetizers. All the preparations were very good. The fish finger was especially good and had me going for seconds. For the soup course we ordered Cream of Mushroom soup. It was okay but not something exceptional. It had a lot of pepper according to my taste. Next we ordered Bhuna Ghost, Paneer Tikka Masala, Dal Tadka for main course and we had tandoori roti to accompany them. We were really impressed with everything.<br/>All in all it was a good experience and I would definitely recommend this place and would love to re-visit Samavar.
Sushmita Singh
It's a pretty decent place..with ample space and good decor. The food was fine..but there were hairs in one of our mutton dishes..which was really disappointing... Other than that..you can give it a try if you want to eat authentic kashmiri food.
Swati Samaddar
If you enjoy meat, don’t miss this place. The Kashmiri Kabargah (Fried Lamb Ribs) made with a lot of love and the right amount of tenderness is the one to attack. Accessible place with ample parking. They serve liquor at reasonable rates.
Ashish Anand
have been a frequent visitor to this place. HAs ample parking space inspite being in one of the post areas where parking is a big hassle.<br/><br/>Best thing is thing is ur can hangout with your friends, have few drinks, handout, chant & it's light on the pocket.<br/><br/>Service is decent with nice ambiance. Food too is good but not exceptional. Have tried dal makhni, rogan josh, rista, chilly chicken, mutton seek etc. <br/><br/>They have a nice place to sit outside too & have chit chat with a cuppa of kahwa.<br/><br/>Good place for friends to catch up.
Rahul Lumb
Initial review...staff is over worked...nobody attends to you...looks more like a BAR rather than a suggested place to eat by Hindustan Times...disappointed to the core
Vasu Nigam
No comments on food as we never ended up ordering. The place stinks, the seating is filthy dirty and the staff seems completely disinterested. Put us off before we could even order.
Nidhi Sharma
This is by far one of the worst dining experiences. For a place that is supposed to serve Kashmiri cuisine specialty- it lacks in taste, serving, dish preparation. <br/><br/>The sevice staff and the manager seem to be having a whale of a time chatting and not doing their jobs. <br/><br/>Kudos to the management, I am amazed how this place is up and running. <br/>Rating- 1/10<br/><br/>The worst food and even worse attitude and customer service.<br/>

Ordered a tandoori chicken dish for delivery at Pamposh enclave through Zomato. The order was slightly late - took more than an hour. The dish was good enough, for approx. Rs. 200. Would order again, but keep the time margin in mind.
Shiv Verma
delivery was done by zomato....still rs. 30/- as delivery charges were added in the bill from samavar. GST was charged ...at 18 % however the bill does not have a GST Number...
Deepak Mehta
despite paying delivery charges which is surprising still it took them to deliver the order in about an hour and fifteen minutes. the distance was hardly 2 kilometres
KD-astic
I ordered food from Samavar they took 1 hour 20 minutes to deliver and the outlet is across the street from my house. I called them 5-7 times and they were unresponsive when they finally picked up the phone they asked the address and hung up. I orderd a Mirchi Korma which is usually nice but this time it was just spicy mutton in oil.
Arshia Arora
Extremely late service even after asking a minimum time of an hour. Also the food was not at all good. It was food in salt instead of salt in food. Very bad experience. Not at all satisfied.

Dont expect an amazing ambiance, Good for family gatherings, probably run by group of kashmiris'. Totally a club type of look and feel. Lil dull for fun loving people, but ya for people for whom company matters would have fun. Famous for authentic Kashmiri Food. <br/><br/>Service: 4/5 (didnt expected a fast service)<br/>Food : 3.5/5 (tasted good)<br/>Quantity: 4/5 (1 plate more than enough for 3 people with avg diet)<br/>Quality: 4/5<br/>Ambiance:3.5/5<br/>Price: 4/5 (Pocket friendly drinks too :P)<br/><br/>Food Ordered: Main Course: Gushtaba, Chicken Rista, Chicken Biryani, Mutton RoganJosh<br/>Starter: Chicken Kanti, Kashmiri Mutton seek, Mutton Sikri (ok ok)<br/>and Kehwa!<br/>For 10 ppl so starters were 2 each and main course was 1 each

The food was way better than expected. It was a hot summer day and the ac wasnt working properly but the food did compensate for all the inconvenience. <br/>I would suggest kabargah (also known as tabakh maas) for all the meat lovers, it's a mutton snack and tasted better than pork ribs. For vegetarians haak is suggested ,the taste was really different and addictive we couldn't stop ourselves. Yakhini was the Best yakhini ever like it was straight from kashmir. <br/>The portions were more than enough we were three and ordered all these with rice the bill was around 1200/- .<br/>Samavar is the best place for kashmiri food👍
KunalDikshit
Go to this place for a drink or two ; have the fish amritsari and maybe the platter which was just about ok and head back . <br/>Ambience: Don't even think about it<br/>Service : what's that . <br/>Drink rates : good . Place to have cheap liquor.<br/><br/>I guess enough said already .

A normal Tuesday night dinner, as we came from chennai.... Wanted to try a nice kashmiri place.<br/>This came highly recommended, brilliant food... We ordered the Amritsari fish, lotus fry, and mutton roshgosh with roti, With some beer. <br/><br/>We got complimentary pappads, the waiter Mr Tansingh Koringa, was brilliant very courteous very kind. Our mutton gravy was very salty so we had to return it. And Mr Tansingh was very kind to get a replacement which tasted yum. <br/><br/>Food gets a 4.5 (just because we had to return it) <br/>Ambience a 5<br/>Service a 5 (thanks to Mr Tansingh) <br/> Brilliant experience. <br/>

Went there last week with a friend and it was a good experience overall. The service here is pretty good. For such a small restaurant, the servers work hard to stay efficient. The restaurant itself is really clean and has a romantic vibe to it.
Ankur Raina
Great place to have authentic kashmiri cuisines. Service is a bit slow, but it is fine. Non-kashmiri people should come here and enjoy kashmiri dishes. Nice place to organize family functions.

Today I visited samavar for Kashmiri wazwan as I belong from Kashmir I love Kashmiri wazwan but I m very very disappointed with there service as I have to wait for food for an hour food was not up to that level rista was good but gostaba was pathetic n even we have to wait for rice for 15 min I don't recommend this restaurant for Kashmiri wazwan remaining upto u
Aveek
I am not sure why the ratings for Samavar are so low. This is probably one of the best Kashmiri restaurants in town. The friends I went had recently been to Srinagar and they were amazed by the authenticity of the cooking. As a bonus the liquor is cheap so it makes for a great cold winter dinner destination. The gushtaba and rogan josh are not to be missed.
Suyash Mamgain
A beautiful restaurant in GK where it is hard to find a decent and peaceful place to sit and eat.On top of that when they serve with such great Kashmiri delicacies, it just felt unbelievable. Their food will keep calling you back. PS: Drinks are so reasonable.... unbelievable!
Meghna Keer
Pls do not waste your money and time at this restaurant. We wanted to have kashmiri food as our roots are from Kashmir... Very enthusiastically we ordered Mutton Rogan Josh, Chicken pulao , Fish ..mooli chutney but the food was disappointing and tasteless with NO salt at all ! We called the restaurant and requested them the food to be taken back as it looked like a punishment to us but the response we got from resturant was also poor they did not accept the food was tasteless !! Rather rude ....on the top of it they made us feel we lieing ...sad ! We told them we DO NOT need a refund but the quality of food has to checked ! We request zomato team to take off this restaurant from the list so that no more customers suffer and waste money !

This place is a time-travel. The decor, the way servers forget that you have placed your order, that typeface on the menu, the languid pace that lets you be much after the bills are paid, showing least concern about turning the tables around, the portion size (well, not so much!), the prices. The minute you step in, your soul pleads you to slow down. And slow down, you must. <br/><br/>Samawar is for a good conversation and an old friend for company; both don't want someone hovering over one's head, hurrying you on pretext of taking orders. I have been to this place five (or six) times, and each time, it was about the people, and not the food. Anyway, i am not a great judge of Kashmiri food, but I will still take a shot at it. <br/>1) Nadur tikka (not my thing, my punjabi cuisine loving palate found it to be too dry a dish)<br/>2) Chicken Kanti (average fare; have been more misses than hits)<br/>3) Rajma (one of the most consistent dishes)<br/>4) Plain Haaq (this you must try, whether you like haaq ka saag or not. Simply because the kitchen flies down its haaq fresh, every morning from Kashmir). <br/>5) Mutton Rista (is a mix of hit and miss)<br/><br/>Stay away from anything which is not Kashmiri. <br/>Be forgiving to this place; it makes up in other ways. We need these kinds to be around to take a break from all the 'progress' around us. <br/>Outside the restaurant is a Kashmiri bakery that opens early and shuts late. It sells Bakarkhani roti, khatai, kulcha, shirmal, katlam made right there. I got some packed to have it with 'chai' the following morning. <br/>Will visit every time my soul feels misplaced in the modern hum-drum of life. <br/>:)
Ashish
Not that bad but not better than before, except goshtaba and tomato soup, everything was tasteless...<br/><br/>Definitely needs improvement in taste and ambience.<br/><br/>Though fan of Kashmiri food, must try atleast once.

Sometimes when you feel unhappy and think nothing can be worse, go to Samavar. The food here is even worse than pathetic. This will make you happy that there are things that are worse.<br/><br/>While not official, one of the reasons that many in Kashmir are asking for independence is because they don't want to be assiciated with bad Kashmiri food served here.<br/><br/>Not only food but also hygiene is a big issue. You should not be surprised if you find things which should have been away from your food in your food. Vegetarians can find bone pieces in their veg dish. You can have pieces of paper in your gravy. The alcohol is cheap because probably it is adulterated.<br/><br/>My suggestion; a good place for people in depression. Here they will get to feel that they are much better than this nonsense they are sitting in.

I should not be taking out the time to write this review at all, but I would have appreciated the warning.<br/><br/>I went with my boys to this place for a satisfying and wholesome food that vaswan is. Among us was a boy from downtown, Srinagar, Kashmir.<br/><br/>We ordered tabakmass, rista, gushtaba, and mutton Mirch korma, and rice.<br/><br/>Not one thing was good.<br/>Dalda and old meat. It was terrible in edible.<br/><br/>I hate wasting food.<br/><br/>But it wasn't me that wasted it. It was the chef who dared to do that.<br/><br/>Please be vary.<br/>

Tucked away in the middle of Pamposh Enclave, near Nehru Place and GK1, is Samavar. It was recommended by a friend and I must say it was a great discovery for me, since I enjoy Kashmiri food! We started out with Chicken Kanti, which was rather nice. The main course consisted of Rogan Josh, Goshtaba, Kashmiri Dry Fruit Pulao & Rotis and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! I also had some Old Monk with Thums Up and it was quite cheap! Overall great value for money and we will definitely go back there again!

This establishment does great Pandit food from Kashmir.... The ambience is really not much to write about,,,, but the food more than makes up for it.... The rajma,,, nadur churma nd kabargah are a must..... Bonus: the booze is dirt cheap......

Samavar is tucked in the quiet corner of Greater kailash, in a Kashmiri community centre, and you will easily lose it, if you don't pay attention, to every place that serves food like i do ☺️. <br/>The restaurant it would seem is lost in time, with dim lights and an old decor, it has posters of Olden days Kashmir and had on Display Kashmiri rugs, cushion covers and carpets, which are also on sale. The crowd is generally families, and the restaurant serves liquor and food. <br/>The liquor is not expensive, like most restaurants and the food is decently priced too. <br/>What we ordered: murgh malai tikka (i know its not kashmiri) but the waiter failed to recommend any traditional starters, actually the staff was not surprisingly , extremely clumsy at its job. <br/>Next we ordered from Kashmiri section of rice , the dry fruit pulao, which was laden with Cashew and almonds and the aroma of spices ( Garam masala and all) and the mutton rogan josh which was also good. The food is typically home made Kashmiri food and you should visit this place, only if you look forward to eating it,like i did, since my trip to kashmir :)<br/>Its a nice place, and is every bit a value for money !

Nestled on the corner of Pamposh enclave in GK1 is Samavar. It's a club cum restaurant cum bar cum lawn for the kashmiris living in this colony though anyone can visit the restaurant. <br/><br/>The ambience if the restaurant more like a gazal and alcohol place. Booze here is quite cheap and that's a huge bonus. <br/><br/>Food: - <br/>Soup: we ordered a Hot and Sour veg soup, but the soup was really hot and spicy so we had to send it back. Instead we placed an order for veg sweet corn soup and this time it was ok. <br/><br/>Starters: We ordered murg malai tikka for starters and the taste was very good. The chicken was nice and tender and delicately spiced. <br/><br/>Maincourse: We ordered Dal Tadka, Dal Makhani, Haak, mutton rista, mutton roganjosh, plain rice and kashmiri chicken pulao and assorted rotis and parathas. The maincourse was amazing. Dal Tadka and Dal makhani were really well made and spiced, mutton rista I felt was a bit of a let down as I felt hardly any meaty flavor in the mutton balls, mutton roganjosh was simply awesome as it wasn't very thick and had delicate spiced with a thin red gravy, perfect to be had with rice which I did. Kashmiri chicken pulao was also very nice and hearty. <br/><br/>This place has become a real fix for my non-veg and alcohol craving and iam surely bound to return more often then not. Though I feel the service can be lifted a bit.

Burnt spices, adulterated ingredients and contaminated water are the hall marks of this restaurant. Pathetic service followed by an inflated bill and an stomach upset are its USP. <br/><br/>The food is no where close to Kashmiri and the non vegetarian food is substandard. I won't be surprised to discover that chicken may not be chicken and mutton something else.<br/>If you live yourself and your loved ones, don't even think of being here. But not a bad place to invite your enemy to take revenge

Went there with my family yesterday, Pretty dissappointed with their sevice, the quality & quantity of the food and also the unclean ambience. We went all the way from faridabad for good kashmiri food but it was way below standards to qualify as authentic kashmiri food . Felt like a waste of money

Pathetic food , gone down the drain , has resorted to selling delhified kashmiri food. Was authentic earlier. Now it's just shit the kashmiri pulao , the rajma everything sucked even the rista. Only saviour was the can of thums up. Not going here again.

Been here a few times. The ambience is old school. The service is slow. But the kashmiri food is awesome. And the best part is.. The booze is so cheap!! A great place to just go and chill with a few drinks without being hassled by waiters.

Firstly, they should remove Kashmiri word from their nameplate. Horrible Rishta they served. I would like to invite the owner and will feed him the actual Kashmiri mutton Rishta in my place. Highly overrated. Never go for kashmiri food to this place. That's all I can say. Place is deserted in the peak lunch hours. Very bad service.

Love Kashmiri food, and I thank my Kashmiri friend for bringing me here. ☺️ <br/><br/>We had the rista, the Kashmiri mutton chops, haak and rice -- was a very happy evening. The prices are extremely reasonable and I urge fellas to get out as a bunch and gorge just like my friend and I did. <br/><br/>I love the old world feel to this place. It's very humble. Kashmiri uncles and families chilling here. It's pretty cool. 🍀☺️

Pathetic service, chipped crockery, lazy servers. <br/><br/>Food is okay but the quality of service and behavior of staff is very disappointing.<br/><br/>Never ever consider it for large gathering and party as you never know what kind of surprise they throw at you, that could include the place not being ready even after booking months before.<br/><br/>If you think about complaining to the owner be ready to get a very rude and cynical response.

Hit the follow button for good luck and good food !! <br/><br/>I lack the general know how of kashmiri food. Although kashmiri aloo dum aloo has been a staple food in my order since years. I researched on it a little. Saw a documentary too once. Samavar was my first experience at kashmiri cuisine ! To be honest - I LOVED IT !! <br/><br/> <br/><br/>Ambiance - Well the place is mainly for weddings. So the ambiance is a little sad and slow. Dinner with families or a formal meeting are totally apt for this place. <br/><br/>Food - Marvelous is the word ! Very very amazing food ! Softest and super tasty - Dum Aloo !! The Lal Paneer threw me in front of a bus and made me kill myself because it was so so so yum ! The flavours were out right amazing ! Too much oil but that worked with the dishes ! Usage of a lot of dry fruits in their food. The spice level according to me was just right. My mum who finds spice the devils friends - found the food too spicy. So in short it can be a little on the spicier side. Kashmiri Pulao was amazing ! Basamati rice with great color. BOOM FOOD !! <br/><br/>Service - Slow and confused but very well know how of their menu. <br/><br/>In the end - must visit ! Must explore ! Must review !! <br/><br/>Also for the sharabis in the house - CHEAP ALCOHOL ! <br/><br/>On the pandameter - 4****

This place has everything obnoxious. From pathetic staff to horrible food. Went to this restaurant 3 times (against my choice) and fell sick every time. The meat quality is suspect, so is the freshness of the food. Alcohol is diluted. The lighting is mood spoiler.<br/>If you are keen to blow your money, go gamble. But don't play with the health of your loved ones by making them eat here

Popular for Kashmiri cuisine, mostly non vegetarian dishes. Malai chicken is delicious. Serving size is on the lower side. Nice ambience but very slow service.

Food: good<br/>Ambience: okay<br/>Staff: helpful and friendly <br/>Place was neat. Had enough seating space. Has some strict timings though but serves good authentic kashmiri dishes. Since it is unknown to most people, its not crazy packed normally. One can have a peaceful meal here with family/friends

We came to know about the place from one of our Kashmiri friend. We ordered mutton Rogan josh and mutton goshtava for lunch and along with that pudina parantha and lacha paranthas. The food was sumptuous and with such a rich and thick gravy. We had to order one more mutton Rogan josh simply because it was yummy!!! Staff was also very courteous and the service was fast as well!!

Horrible food.. ordered chicken yakni which was refused to be served at first and mutton rishta which is supposed to be spicy but was very bad in taste.. worst kashmiri food iv ever had.<br/>Service- baaad and reason given was as a marriage function was on in the banquet hall !!<br/>Ambience- gud

The Ambience is great, it's hidden in Pamposh, they have a banquet hall attached with the restaurant. They cater to The Rashtrapati Bhavan. Service was a little slow. Though the food was amazing. Had ordered a Biryani, one portion is good enough for a meal for two. Adequately priced and should be tried. The place is a little, more of a traditional Fine Dine.

A birthday celebration spoiled with their poor service, lax attitude - add to it the embarrassment we felt in front of our guests - bitter memories. A pre-planned party which was discussed with the management who had assured us the availability of certain specific drinks for the occasion turned out to be a disaster when not only the things promised weren't there (the guests had to make do with whatever options irrespective of preferences) but also the service was extremely slow, inefficient (we were served different dishes from what we'd ordered!) and poor. One of our guests really wanted to try Gushtaba (a Kashmiri delicacy) which they'd heard of but never tried. To our utter shock, it was too salty and not up to the mark. We readily complained right away but no action was taken on the matter. After the guests left, we took up the topic again with the management but nothing came out of it apart from superficial lip service. We were made to carry home the "repaired" version of the leftover Gushtaba which too was found to be equally salty later, if not more. We frequently pass by this restaurant and every time that bad day comes back to mind - on our recommendation (we had visited Samavar earlier too) a family member's birthday was spoilt (she had invited her friends too). We really advice anyone who reads this post to never even try this place. Utterly disappointing!!!
