Little punjab is a small eatery serving Home cooked food in the lanes of SDA Market.
The eatery is pretty small and you can just grab your food and have it outside the eatery on a standing table.

The menu offers you a fixed set of options like Rajma chawal, Chole Chawal, Kadhi chawal and Paneer chawal.
The dishes are very pocket friendly and you can enjoy home cooked food at a decent prize.

We had Rajma chawal while we were here and I really enjoyed them.
This is an apt place for the student crowd which gathers here due to the place proximity with IIT Delhi

Saving grace when we were in college and missed lunch! Standard menu and decent taste. The only downside is if you are not a rice person as that is what is served with kadhi or rajma

This is my go-to place for Rajma Chawal, Chhole Chawal in SDA market. I've been eating here at least once a week since last 6 months and I still enjoy the food here. I believe as a north Indian you can never get bored of Rajma Chawal or Chhole Chawal. You can also get Kadhi Chawal and Paneer Chawal here but I mostly prefer Rajma and Chhole. These are the only 4 dishes available here by the way. Unlike many other outlets, their stuff is not very spicy so if you can't tolerate too spicy, you'll definitely love the food here. Portion size is quite decent and more than sufficient for one person. Sometimes they'll ask you if you want some more and would be happy to serve you little extra if you want. Attitude is super friendly. If you are near SDA and looking for a pocket friendly meal, just go there and you won't be disappointed.

This hidden gem in the streets of SDA complex is serving some scrumptious north indian dishes since decades. They have an interesting range to choose from, where Rajma chawal is always the hottest deal of the day.
How I wish the other dishes were as great as rajma chawal. Chole chawal are another ace from the pack. Paneer chawal are extremely disheartening and a big fail.
Nonetheless, they are successfully attracting the students to the market by offering a lip smacking plate at just Rs. 60/-
It’s a must try!

Tired of eating the mess food. Grab lunch at this hidden food stall in SDA opposite nukkad resturant. Steam rice with rajma/chole/paneer/kadhi garnished with green chilli and chopped onion. Lassi is also on the menu. :)

From Legion options SDA has to offer, this small eatery pleases your taste buds with Pure North Indian flavors. This small food pub caters Rajma-Chawal, Paneer Chawal, Kadhi Chawal and Chhole Chawal. Each and every option of the menu is worth a try. You can see students having their lunch at Little Punjab. They have their Special Lassi and Badam Milk too, which are definitely a completion to the mouth watering lunch of Rajma or Paneer Chawal. The owner is so humble and courteous, believe me he loves to serve the people. The place is cheaper than you can imagine and has an apt ambiance for a small eatery. The joint is located Opp. to the Nukkad Cafe & Bar. Do try the Rajma-Paneer mix combination with the Lassi. You would bless the man as well as me. Happy fooding. Cheers :)

From the All English food that u can have in SDA Market, u seem to get bored, coz nothing can fill your stomach as alittle apunjab Paneer Rice can, or Rajma Rice or Kadhi Rice, they are normally out of stock for Paneer Rice if u arrive late, they start lunch preety early, I have seen ppl eating even at 11am, one advice thougb will be to have plain chawal instead of rice fried in oil, you cant think of having it everyday due to oil in the rice, may b they shoul give option

What an awesome tiny place in SDA. Opens only during noon till after noon. Variety is very limited but I go there for what they offer. Love the cadhi chawal, chole chawal. One plate is more than enough to fill you up.

Found at the very nook in the SDA market, this place is little but is a bomb. A usual hub of all the students of IIT delhi to find cheap, delicious, and home like plate full of food. You have options of chole chawal, paneer chawal, Rajma chawal and kadhi chawal here.
Hot and fresh. Topped with a generous amount of onion rings to go with it. Club it with a bottle of badam milk, lassi or a can of coke and your life is sorted. The food is extremely delicious and prices are light on pocket. Highly recommended for all nearby college students. I make a point to visit this place every weekend or so. The owner of the shop has to be one of the most welcoming and humble people in the food business you'll ever meet. A big thumbs up.

Located in one of the posh areas of Delhi this place serves best Punjabi food in and around SDA. small outlet with no seating place has marvelous chole and rajma chawal at a very reasonable price. One place where quantity and quality are available at a low price. A must try for every foodie looking for Punjabi food. Panner chawal are also splendid but you may consider it your lucky day if you grab one plate of it.

Can't get better value for money in the whole Delhi. Among the expensive SDA market outlets, Little Punjab comes easy on pocket with great Indian food. To be precise, they offer rice with 4 types of curries.
Rajma- Paneer mix would be my favorite.

A small dhabha, serving mouthwatering food - basically rajma chawal, kadhi chawal, chole chawal and paneer chawal. Also, they have lassi and chaas available that makes a perfect combo. The price goes max. to 60 bucks per plate. A savior for the IIT students to conquer their hunger drives. It serves only for a few hours during the day (till around 3pm).

Located in this extreme corner of SDA and at at an easy to miss location, Little Punjab is this one place which you must visit to satiate those homemade food cravings. They don't have much to offer, with their menu comprising of just 5 dishes and a few beverages. But the quality of food is simply beyond comparison. Not being a proper restaurant, it does not offer you a place to sit. Simply Stand(or find a place to sit) and enjoy the food. Do visit this place if you want to savour the amazing Rajma/choley chawal and be surprised at the amazing quantity and quality along with the extremely reasonable prices.

And the owner of the outlet is really a gentleman. Cheers!!!

Little Punjab is a small outlet situated right across IIT Delhi in Hauz Khas. Having spent 5 years in the campus, this was one place we would always look upto to have a cheap homely lunch. The variety on offer waa minimalistic but there was not even a single day when the quality of the food deteriorated or varied. Located at an expensive place such as SDA this is undoubtedly the only budget place you can think of.

Thanks a lot LP for everything :)

Here's a description of lunchtime at little Punjab - plate after plate of mouth watering food being handed out with such love to customer after customer, everyone peacefully eating and talking in the area, and the place being sold out within a couple of hours of the lunch rush. Imagine how commendable that is when you have four things on the menu. The rajma and paneer chawal are marvellous. Ideal if you feel like having a home style meal in a mere 50 Bucks.

Little Punjab, a cute little open air joint tucked at the backside of SDA, it dishes out a short, sweet and simple menu at very reasonable price and provides sound quality stuff. It is quite a regular joint for my office colleagues and myself during lunch hours.
They serve home cooked rajma, chole, kadi, paneer along with chawal and the best part is all gravies are different in flavour with each one having its own signature.
The quantity size is apt and you can take a refill of the gravy if needed. All in all a very reasonable place for an on the go, stomach full lunch. Avoid it in hot weather as it can become very difficult the bear the sun.

Just go here to have plates filled with hot homestyle Rajma, Chole or Paneer chawal. That's their menu and they run out of food at around 4 pm by which time all the workers, start up owners, hipsters and assorted SDA folk have thulped Little Punjab's contents. With every "North Indian" restaurant in Delhi peddling thick, greasy fare, this one is really special for NOT. If you turn up late, there are two very enterprising women who run a chai, maggi and bread pakoda shop just adjacent to Little Punjab. Skip chai, and choose customized maggi. Thank you.

So many good memories of this place. The cheapest and one of the best joints to eat at in SDA despite it being open for only a few hours during the afternoon. The owner is really friendly and the portions are really generous. The place was a saviour whenever we didn't have the mental strength to go back to our hostels to grab some lunch.

The Rajma Chawal and Kadi Chawal at this place go perfectly with the lassi. And the owner never says no to an extra portion! The cherry on top is that they sometimes deliver to the IIT hostels!

The best (and the cheapest) place to have lunch at SDA. For most of us at IIT Delhi, who did not have the courage to walk back all the way to the hostel to have food, LP was a savior. The menu is not very vast. But the food is ample and can keep you going for the rest of the day. My personal favorite was Chhole-Chawal, along with the Lassi. They have also started delivering food but only to IIT hostels. So that's a good thing for the lazy asses.

The proprietor of the place is a very friendly man. He sometimes lets you have food on credit if he knows you well and seen you around. You can also add rice and curry for free of cost too. Another added attraction.

Ah!! The thought of this place brings a smile to my face. :)

It is one of the very few outlets in SDA that opens up for approximately a few hours in the afternoon, sells everything within that period and closes down before its even 3 PM. It has always surprised me that even though they could easily make some extra money by increasing their capacity, they have never tried so. And in period between 1-2 you can see large crowds of office going professionals choosing from the limited menu which only comprises of- Kadi, Paneer, Chole and Rajma along with rice. Although the curry of most of the items (Rajma, Chole and surprisingly Paneer too) tastes the same yet it is sort of a staple food for a lot of people in the area. Also, there are people I know who come from areas like green park and Safdarjung Enclave to savor his North Indian Delight. To describe the food in short the first word that comes to mind is spicy- very spicy infact.

In case of a take away they give you limited amount of curry with rice which is just enough (at times less too))but if you decide to stand and eat their itself the owner happily serves you with multiple servings of the gravy. And that man is indeed a delight- Ive never seen him reclusive or even tensed for that matter given the rush.

Not the best of the food in terms of taste but quality and experience assured.

Amidst the expensive restaurants and cafes at SDA, this place is a life saver. The tasty and hygienically made traditional rajma chawal and kadi chawal are not only mouth watering and stomach filling, but is also the most economical place around. The paneer chawal is also just too good. Once you start having the rice with a Lassi here, it will become a routine to visit there for lunch whenever you are around. The friendly manager cum owner adds another star to the place.

Rajma chawal are soo tasty.... one plate is not enough..... lack of seating space.. beware while parking your vehicle in front of the restaurant.. as it is a tow way zone a tow vehicle keeps on patrolling the area in each 15 minutes so bewar Rajma Chawal and Kadhi Chawal are the most plates here. Dustbins are mostly full. They better take care of hygiene outside the shed.A cigarette khoka just opposite to it will make your outing perfect.
