Review Aw Foods - New Delhi

Manal Amir
I saw an Instagram picture and after doing some research got to know about this place. It's located in GK-1 very close to the metro station. It's a delivery and takeaway place so you won't find any sitting here though it's worth the visit. I tried the Mutton seekh, Mutton kebab, Boneless butter chicken, with some romali and tandoori roti. Taste was so so good. Totally worth the money

I have been buying raw meat and chicken from this place since late 80's. Much later they started selling sheekh kebabs and shammi kebabs. It used to be top class then and even today. If you want to bring home the half cooked sheekh kebabs, you can fry with little oil/butter and have as snack or even meal. Without doubt it can be said that they sell the most delicious kebabs. Quality of other products like raw meat, chicken is also fantastic. For last few years they started selling cooked food like korma, biryani, nihari etc etc. Each of these dishes are not only tasty but made with good ingredients. Moreover, they are not priced very high. In fact one would say that the charges are much less than what it can fetch. Don't miss this decades old mutton chicken shop in South Delhi.

Decent place. Good food. Try the seekh and kakori kebab

One of the best non vegetarian cuisine I've ever had!
sudipto adhicary
Mutton kebabs are the yummiest, crunchiest in town. I travel to this place every weekend from the other side of the city just for 4 heavenly pieces of mutton kebabs!
Sunny Gambhir
When you want a different kind of taste from your mughlai cuisine, this is the place to be. Absolutely loved it.
Nadia Hussain
Amazing food at a very good price!

The Afghani Chicken was delicious. AW Foods stands out as great value. They take little more time to deliver but they don't compromise on the food quality.

This place is located just at the back of my office in Whizdom Club (co-working space). No one knows about it coz there is no signage that attracts anyone. I request everyone who reads this to visit this place and try Mutton Nihari and Shahi Roti. If you are a true Mutton lover and understand the taste, I don't think you will disagree with me on the awesomeness served here. Trust me, Try it once as also other Tikkas/Kababs. In fact, buy raw Mutton Shami for home cooking also.

Best to take away... very old shop from 80s Loved thr Mutton Biryani and Nihari... Value for Money...

This is one of the oldest Meat shop and wholesale raw meat suppliers l in the Savitri Cinema complex which is run and owned Mr Mohammed Asif. They also have a small restaurant called A W Foods. The meat quality is fresh and the prices are reasonable. You can also buy half cooked Mutton and Chicken Sheekh and other products for a Home Barbeque party. Highly recommended. They also do home delivery for People ordering from Greater Kailash part 2 and Chittaranjan Park only.

Decent kebabs and rolls. Good service. There are a couple of tables and chairs for seating. Majorly a take away, delivery place. Recommended - shammi kebab, malai Tikka. Not recommended - veg galaouti. The vegetarian menu doesn't offer much. All in all, the tastes are simple and nice and the rates reasonable.

What food guys a place not to be missed perfectly place at the back of savitri - gk2. Quality with amazing taste at a very well kept pricing. Everything is so good.

Malai chicken tikka is too soft , very creamy and delicious

Best kebabs you can order.

Ordered
1. mutton seekh
2. Chicken Burra
3. Mutton Tikka
4. Shammi Kabab

Mutton Seekh was no way near mutton it tasted like chicken seekh instead but not good

Shammi kabab had some mutton in it but the balance was not right.

Mutton Tikka which is their speciality is the worst of them all. It tasted more of boiled meat covered with masala rather than roasted. And it was stale as well.
Shashank Chaudhary
This is one place we order very often from.trust their taste and portions ...always bang on

There chicken korma is the best i‘ve had. As good as Karims who.doesnt deliver to.my location. The Biryani is average.

Located Behind the Erstwhile Savitri Cinema ( Now its DLF something) is located this very small gem called AW Foods

They run their meat shop and also a small restaurant which is mainly a take away joint with 1 or 2 tables

AW foods is a near perfect Qureshi restaurant who specialise in some things. The Biryani at AW foods is what a real Delhi 6 baashindaa can vouch for.
I have always believe that a Good Biryani doesn't need any condiment or accompanying gravy or salad
A good Biryani should just be simple plain and flavor some

Every morsel of the multi colored rice grain of white yellow gives you a very mild and sublime flavor of the great spices and process used.

They serve about 3 to 4 decent pieces in one plate briyani that costs about 280 to 300 which is pretty good

Another of my favorite here is the mutton seekh kebab. It's a bit coarse, a bit grainy but has all the right flavors. I hate Seekh Kebabs that leave a very strong flavour in ones mouth, I prefer light & subtle ones which leave a light lingering after taste
At 170 Rs for 4 Pieces of the Delicious Mutton Seeekh, this is a steal

One should also try their Chicken Kurma. The pieces are soft & succulent, the gravy is rich & aromatic, a bit thick due to the oil used, however the taste is quite good. Best enjoyed with Roomali Roti
Kamil Shakil
Close to GK metro station this outlet has good fast and tasty food which is at very good prices.

Seating options are very less so make sure there is seating available if you are visiting

I have ordered chicken malai tikka from this place... Everything was very perfect .. from the packaging to the taste... The chicken pieces were so tender and the marination, the best... I will definitely order a hundred more times from this place and recommend every one else too... Even the chutneys were to the point..👍👍♥️♥️

Great food. Truly value for money. The quality of meat is really good. The mutton nihari is highly recommended. Do give this place a try if you are into non-vegetarian fare.

Amazing place for non veg lovers and Price also very reasonable I am giving 4 star only no arrangements of sitting , chicken changezi must try , I tried her changezi, seekh roll ,galoti kawab

This place is a gem. There are few places where you get fresh, soft and tasty chicken and this is one of those place. A small joint that serves limited dishes of chicken with pocket friendly prices. Quantity and quality both are perfect. The chicken dishes here hits the tastebuds right. I tried mutton seekh and chicken tikka. Both the dishes were literally perfect. They were perfectly cooked with accurate spices. With chicken you get two types of chutney and onion. Chicken lovers must try this place.
Dinesh
The Chicken Korma experience was not good. The quantity of chicken was less as compared to the price. Secondly the Shahi Roti was was not at all roti it was a mix of bun and kulcha. The name is misleading. Pl. display picture of items prepared by you so that people may know what they are ordering.
Aditya Singh
There are very few places where you can have good veg seekh kebabs and galouti kebabs. Their food is an absolute delicacy and one can get easily addicted to their kebabs. Also try their shahi Roti , which is their specialty .
Anuradha Mukherjee
This is the hidden secret of Greater Kailash 2 if you are a lover of good quality Mughlai food. This was the hole-in-the-wall shop my uncle told my Dad about which I could not locate the first time I went looking for it. The quality is decent and portions generous. The place can easily be missed for its dhaba ambience among the car workshops behind the Savitri Complex on the Ring Road side. The service can be a little tardy if you call order directly, so using Zomato is always recommended. What I like best are the khameeri rotis made at this place. Authentic and pocket-friendly.
Sandeep Kumar
Delicious and juicy chicken! Must try changeji chicken. It was awesome. Tandoori chicken was also wondering. Go for it! Biryani was good balanced with flavour and spices. We loved all food.
Harpreet Singh
Ordering mutton kebab, chicken biryani and chicken shami kebab and chicken gravies. The biryani lacked any flavour and waa not upto the mark at all. Need to improve thier food big time.
Parvez Alam
Best mutton keema and rulami roti found in south delhi. The best part, it is always available on all days. Mutton korma, biryanis and chicken malai tikka are few other specialities. And also it does not make a hole in your pocket...
Saudamini C
This place came highly recommended for delivery. Excellent Chicken Biryani ! Will definitely reorder . We had that and the Shammi Kebab which was also good but not as wow as the Biryani .
Arjun Agarwal
Extremely late delivery. Sent the wrong order. The food that was sent was of poor quality as well. And to top it off? The team managing their delivery was rather unhelpful as well.

Given the circumstances a one star is being rather generous, but unfortunately Zomato won't give allow me to give a lower score.
Srishti Roy
Okay so I just ordered half portion chicken biryani and two pieces of mutton seekh kabab and boy I wasn’t disappointed, the biryani was so full of flavour and tasty, chicken was very flavourful. Mutton seekh kababs tasted good but they can make it even more moist and juicy by adding butter but overall had a good experience
Shruthi Issac
Oh my good lord, if there ever was Keema served in heaven it would be coming from Asif Bhai’s kitchen at A W Foods. Very subtly spiced, its the meat that shines through. It has the right ratio of fat and lean. Perfect with some pavs. This Keema is the secret to my weight gain in winters.

The galouti kebabs and the mutton seekh with fresh herbs are equally good. This place delivers.
Prachi Singhal
worst experience ever
Urmimala Bose
The food quality and the price is amazing. Well the play of flavors will definitely leave your tastebuds astound. I had roasted chicken from this place, I was in a magical heaven 😍
This place is worth a try.
Tushar Batra
If you want to eat chicken changezi and you want a taste same like old delhi this place is best for you. They have many non veg dishes option. The price is also very reasonable .But they only have rumali roti and shahi naan, they do not have simple tandoori roti or naan overall the food is good and very pocket friendly.
Saurabh Roy Chowdhury
Good taste, good quality, great quantity/ portions and all of this considering the nominal cost. value for money. Their chicken malai tikka, mutton shami kebab, bitter chicken, chicken changezi & kadhai chicken are fantastic and a must have. They are one of the few outlets to serve 10-12 pieces of chicken in a full serving & 5-6 in a half serving which is a great value for money basis their prices. Add to that they have their own meat shop which is one of the oldest in the C.R. Park-Greater Kailash area so you know the meat is good quality.

food was very satisfying but it took an hour to prepare! not very good sign!

True purani dilli biryani at your doorstep

I generally love their food and service but today I have been forced to write this. I am amazed with the laid back attitude of the restaurant. I placed an order at around 7:33 pm and it's 9:36 pm and the food is not yet here and nobody seems to care as much.
The attitude of the people sitting on the phone seems like they don't care. I have been following up since 8:45 and I have been told I shall receive it soon.
But seriously disappointed.
Arjun Ramani
The place is famous for it's mutton gravy dishes and biryani....I ordered from here mutton korma and chicken biryani and it was very delicious just as expected...do try their shahi roti with any mutton gravy and it will surely not disappoint you.
Shubham Kumar
I had ordered a chicken Briyani today and found this fly cooked in my Briyani. Yes I am non vegetarian but that doesn't mean that I will eat a half cooked fly too with chicken pieces. We pay so much to these people and this is what they do to us.

Let me begin by saying that if there is an Afghani Chicken(gravy) heaven, it is this, it is this, it is this.
A W Foods is not your usual restaurant, with lavish menus and drinks. It is a small, hidden gem where home delivery takes the cake. Let’s ignore the fact that I am a regular, let’s concentrate on the food that it offers. The tender, juicy Afghani Chicken wrapped in wholesome gravy that pleases your taste buds, the gravy itself, lathered in butter, ginger and spices, the soft kebabs and rotis, all bear testament to what a fine sensory appeal its menu has.
The food is not expensive, a bonus, and they customise the spicy heat and gravy content as per your request. A W Foods deliver with respect to taste and how! The mutton falls off the bone easily and that’s an art. However, be wary that the place specialises in certain dishes and you shouldn’t expect the same magic in all other dishes. In fact, the biryani is average and the mutton stew, though delicious, has fewer pieces than desired. Keeping all this in mind, do order from here. And thank me later :)
Rohit Roy
Small outlet located in savitri cienma complex. Had half mutton biryani which is price was reasonable. Taste was average because i find biryani was oily.
Aveek
Outstanding food for such a place. Possibly the best value for money for their snacks and biryani. The kebabs are made exactly as they should and not the greasy food which is the norm. Worth putting on your speed dial for the weekend parties at home.
Aritra Roy
Was visiting my uncle's place at CR Park. So he suggested me this place for Dinner. The items that were ordered on the list were Galouti Kebabs, Seekh Kebabs and Biriyani. Costed me around 1100 bucks.

The Kebabs were really great. Soft, tender and delicious. It just melted in the mouth. Properly cooked and they were the best of the night.

Ordered 3 Chicken Biriyani for 4 people. The quantity amazed me the most. We were stomach full and still a complete packet of Biriyani was left.

All in all, not a very big branded name, but the food quantity and quality was great. And the cost. Although on a bit higher size, was justified.

Just ordered from this joint...

Nihari mutton
Malai Tikka
Malai tangri

Taste is truly amongst the best I've ever had...

The Nihari mutton had soft succulent pieces and taste was amazing

The Malai Tikka was big on portion and taste
Soft and yummy....

The Malai tangri tasted almost similar to the Malai Tikka.. hence was good too

The only thing which made me deduct the 0.5 points was the delivery time...
It took them 1hr 15 minutes to deliver at Greater Kailash part-1 from Greater Kailash Part-2....

Am definitely ordering again and again....

Chicken Afgani. It is outstanding dish to eat over here. Very tempting and heavy to eat. Can be taken with the family. Very well located place.

Food: 3.25/5
Ambience: NA
Service: 3/5
Recommended: Kadhai Paneer Curry

Sunday afternoon saw me and Rishbha Jain sit down to decide on an Indian eatery to order from that wouldn't cost us a bomb. South Delhi isn't usually pocket-friendly but we managed to find A W Foods which charged very reasonably. We ordered Kadhai Paneer, Dal Makhani and Rumali Roti to have with the curry.

The Rumali Roti had become pretty cold by the time it arrived but it tasted fine. I've never found the look of Dal Makhani to be appetising and this place managed to get the taste as bad, too. The dish had gone quite off-the-path and wasn't very palatable. However, the Kadhai Paneer saved the day. The masala gravy was rich and brought out the taste only paneer curries are capable. The paneer chunks were great and in plenty. I have to warn you about the excess oil, though.

The phone calls were extremely smooth but the delivery guy seemed to be done with life. Looks like some people at the restaurant get Kadhai Paneer and others Dal Makhani. Much like life's circumstances. Jokes apart, if you're around GK-II, A W Food is an inexpensive option for home delivery that's not too bad.

The tandoori is undoubtedly the best Iv had on delhi. Iv tried a lot of places but this place makes the best malai tikka and mutton tikka
They have superb butter chicken. Try that with the Shahi roti.
You're going to be craving this food all the time.
Niharika Singh
Ordered butter chiken and roomali roti.. the food is really nice n tasty but the delivery time is too much.. they should do something about the delivery of the food...
Mrinal Ghosh
Order for a party of 10 chicken biryani and mutton korma and I must say it was very impressive. Great taste and reasonable price....Taste of old delhi in south delhi. Have tried their lip smacking kababs before ....this time pre ordered biryani and must I say great decision.
Isshana Mahajan
The food is great, service isn't. They take hours to deliver, more than often the order is incomplete so the whole experience becomes a little drab but their food is awesome.
Rohon Ghosh
The original shop was a meat and poultry shop which also sold Reay to fry kababs. They have opened a take away counter in the last couple of years with one table for a sit and eat. I always loved the kababs they sold in fact I carry some back to my home town kolkata. I tried the mutton quorma. Loved it
Cyril Lucido Kuhn
Ordered food one evening from AW Foods, I've heard the food is good. Our order never came though, turns out the delivery man went ahead and delivered the order to some other house successfully! AW Foods didn't bother at all after that to deliver us a new order. Not nice!
Sumedha Bose Ghoshal
There Chicken Malai Tikka is to die for. They simply melt in your mouth. It is marinated so well and is almost addictive. Its become a staple at my home. Along with this there Mutton Nihari, Mutton Biryani is so flavurful and authentic. Compares well to the Karim's of Jama Masjid. Its like a hidden Jewel. There Chicken Changezi is average and there Chicken Butter chicken is different than the usual. The butter chicken is not sweet and orange gravy. It is more robust in flavours, hence I found it to be better. I only wish they served Khamiri Roti as well.
Tanveer Singh
This place been in gk 2 since very very long time
Food quality is good
100% hygienic
Quality -8/10
Taste -9/10
I mostly eat here chicken tikka kebabs mutton everything roasted is awesome
Rahul Bansal
After reading all the reviews I decided to order Mutton and chicken shami kebab and mutton barra. The shami kebabs were not that great, especially the chicken shami but the Mutton barra was amazing! The meat was soft, juicy and really spicy. I'll be ordering that again.
Kartik Gera
4/5 just for the kebabs. By now have tried all there kebabs. All of them are brilliant. Especially the chicken Shammi and fish kebabs. Tried the dal and butter chicken today, pretty much below average.
Shivin Kaul
The Mutton burra and the butter chicken was tasty although it was different as it wasnt the bright orange gravy we've been eating since forever still they have to be the best items on the menu and also the chicken tikka!
Abhishek DasGupta
Good Tandoori stuff..

Value for money ..

Chicken Tikka is the best..

Good place for Kabab's..

Home service is prompt ...

Raman Gupta
I ordered the chicken Korma... firstly the serving portion are way small.. four pieces in a full chicken !!!( gives full chicken a whole new meaning)...
Secondly it was tasteless ... if you would have had Korma at AL Jawahar or Jahangir or Nazeer you would know what Korma tastes like
Manali Nandi
Hidden between 2 tall buildings is this sacred haven of food. Have tried the items on their menu one by one and have never complained. After a long working day, one can count for a not so crazily priced awesome tasting food from here. And that's not all. They sell raw chicken and mutton as well. The guy knows how to slice so that the meat stays juicy. They have uncooked shammi kebab variety of chicken, mutton and fish which are authentic. The seekh kebab will melt in your mouth before you know it if you aren't paying attention. They serve a special naan bread, a must have.
Pallavi Capoor
I take food regularly from here, the Mutton Shami kebabs are awesome. Any one who understands the real MUGHLAI food will surely understand the taste, may be hard for delhites to understand... The tikka's are awesome a must have. The staff is humble & polite. So is the owner. The green chutney with the kebebs & tikka's is really tasty.

Rating for the same is-
Quality of Food- 5/5
Service- 4/5
Delivery -4/5
Overall Rating-5/5

I was told to try the chicken changezi here by my aunt, who has been their loyal customer since their days of providing raw and marinated meats. However, I was Craving tandoori chicken for lunch yesterday and knowing that the regular go to place (Quereshi) will be shut for lunch, I decided to give this place a go. Sadly, they too informed me that tandoori items are restricted to evening hours. Having read the reviews praising their shammi kabab, I decided to give that a shot instead. It arrived pretty fast, within 20 mins, and was pretty cheap. The kebabs weren't exactly hot though. I proceeded to microwave them and found the chutney to be fresh and zesty for a change, and not like the ones I throw away usually because of their sour old Smell. The shammi was delightful golden brown, and wasn't oily at all. I thought I'd found a new regular haunt....boy was I wrong! Tonight I ordered their tandoori chicken and shammi again, and even had someone coming over. The chicken was burnt on the outside, it was like cutting through spicy charcoal to reach a mildly flavored meat below. The shammi wasn't the nice Golden brown either, but a black similar to the chicken. What a let down! Being someone who orders in frequently, consistency of taste and quality are my top criterions for adding a place to my tried and tested list to have a good time. I don't know which part of them is more consistent- the golden brown or charcoal mess. But it's going off my list ASAP.NOW.

This little hole-in-the-wall is a real undiscovered gem of the city! We stay in GK 2 and chanced on their Shami Kebabs at a friend's place. Since then, they have been our go-to guys for all sorts of kebabs and wonderful cuts of mutton (non-fatty! yay!). But recently we discovered their Biryani. Oh boy! Absolutely the best biryani I have had in Delhi. A MUST-TRY for everyone! They have no dine-in. They do deliver though and you can always pick food up. Biryani is a Sunday special or by pre-order only. Go try now and thank me later ;)
Debanjan Roy
My most favourite place for shammi kebabs. and biryani as well. Opt for home delivery. you wont regret it.

We came across this place while we were waiting for our movie show. In case you couldn't figure out, this place is JUST BEHIND DT Cinemas, GK 2. There's Karim's as well but we decided to not shell out that amount of money.

There's no seating. Just a table outside the shop and if you insist, they'll provide you with 3 or 4 chairs.

Irrespective of everything, I'd say that I like how they still make their food with the typical old delhi mughlai style in mind.

The Chicken tikka and malai tikkas are must haves. You'll like them if you enjoy 'street food'. This place is no different.
The butter chicken and Shahi paneer have an amazing gravy but there's just one problem. I saw the cook making it, once. The gravy had 50% refined oil, 30% tomato puree, 10% butter and 10% cream. If you're find with that, go ahead. Unfortunately for me, I might never be able to gather the guts to have it again despite the great taste - It was good, trust me on that.

The paneer tikka again is worth the 100 bucks. There's just one problem. They have only 2 types of rotis - Rumali and Shahi roti. Shahi roti is the traditional khameeri naan kind of a preparation, however, they don't make it for you fresh as you order, it is pre made and kept in little polybags/paper bags. You would have to ask the waiters to heat the rumali rotis else they'll be served cold.

The service isn't so great so make sure your movie is at least 30-35 minutes from the time of your order (assuming you're there because of your movie).

If you want to have the kebabs and tikkas, worth the try. Otherwise, you could give it a pass.

Oh, and yes, the prices are pretty reasonable.

The food was absolutely blah! I didnt ike the chicken korma which i ordered with roomali roti... Although the kebabs here r gud especially mutton shammi kebab
