Best vegetarian restaurant in palakkad town. It is very old and traditional restaurant. More than 50 years old. They maintained it very well. Food are tasty and very budget friendly. Ambience is not good. We can trust this for quality veg food
The place has great food. Payassam though was a bit disappointing because it was a last minute request, but if you go before the peak lunch, you may get to have the actual payassam they’re known for. Don’t miss the sadya! It’s totally worth it! The taste of actual Palakkad samayal (chamyal) at this very old and famous place. The place has A/C, they’ve modified it and is very clean (including the bathrooms).
Harihara Puthra Hotel is a place out of this world. Was served by Indira who is mother incarnate - who showered her affection on us by offering us every item available - dosa, sevai, ela adai, korattai, uzhunnu vada, paruppu vada, filter coffee and lime juice. The quality of breakfast is amazing. One should without fail visit the branch which in the new avataar is 8 years old (house converted to a restaurant) that has the old Palakkad charm and untouched by modernity. My family were touched by Indira’s love for us who has been working there since its inception.
Very good place for authentic and traditional palakkad style veg food.
Decent parking space.
Neat and homely environment.

Good place. Approaching the place is a work because of practically no space in road.
Good place, the stack of vazha elsa and smiling staff just enhances the experience. Had puttu kadla - was ok, not extraordinary. Tea was supper. Will go again to taste dosa poori etc. Parking for maybe 4 or 5 cars possible. Price was good - 2 sets of puttu kadla and 2 tea altogether costed 120. Also ! Had their badam halwa/burfi - super good.
Good. Seva is my favourite.Wash area need some improvement.
Food is Awesome. Cost is a bit high
Classy vegetarian food and ghee sweets
This restaurant has stood the test of time and still maintains the quality. I had the opportunity of dining with family a few days back and the food and service standards are good. Note that this is a modest hotel and if you are looking for fancy stuff and top notch English speaking staff, this is not your cup of tea. A step into this restaurant transports you back to the olden days with wooden furniture, food served on banana leaves and pleasant staff trying to engage you into a conversation. For people with a car, note that the restaurant is inside a bustling bazaar and parking can be a hassle especially after 10AM. So, plan accordingly.
I would however recommend trying this restaurant for pure vegetarian and brahmin cuisine.... right in the middle of downtown Palakkad...
One of the old traditional Brahmin hotel near Palghat town railway stn. Affordable to lower middle class.
Best hotel... Food was good.... Best for breakfast and lunch also... Highly recommended. Good ambience there and the service is super...
