One of the several nice chill-out places in Chandigarh. Good food. Not so good drinks. Overall ambient is okay.

We ended up here for a semi-annual business lunch, and it was quite a decent option after being stuck in a conference room all morning. It is reminiscent of a rock cafe, but is all glass so is well lit during the day. The food was decent - we had pizzas and pastas and some ice cream desserts - nothing to write home about but quite decent for being unexpected in its location. A decent place for lunch if you are looking for a quick continental meal.

I love this place so much.. I usually come here for coffee or a sandwich which are really good to taste.. The ambience of the place is great too... You may give it a try...

Ambience is good. Not much people to bother you around. Indoor and open space for seating.

About the only good place around the main city that serves alcohol! The ambience is a bonus.

It was a average sort, we went to Celebrate the New Year Eve-2016-17, in their oldest sector 17 out let and found out it to be an average type of, JD, Teachers, and other few good Whiskeys was served but snack service was good and was on time even though the crowd was over 300+, and the gentery was decent, specially the males no 1 was bothering to any girl for their clothing or drinking habits, B'coz girls were not in senses they were so much drunk where as guys were all and handing them very nicely, more over their were some aged crowd was also available but without the any botheration they all were enjoying in that safe environment... It was fine and the DJ was cool

Heard quite a lot about this place from my chandigarh friends so thought of visiting one day prior to Christmas .<br/>I have to say this place is quite spacious as they do have both indoor and outdoor seating area ,Food was very average, i ordered PIZZA PASTA & some Chinese as well , so chinese was better than  Pizza and all.<br/>Though it is a good chilling place in sector 17 but fails as compared to many others who are in this sector i doubt i'll visit again.

Girl in the cafe.. Quite a catchy phrase.. The ambience is pleasing and music is great.. It's a perfect place if you want to go with a bunch of girls and especially Wednesday nights are for you ladies.. Go and hit the floor.. Coming to the drinks, we tried the divas delight and the cafe girl.. They were refreshing.. Food was awesome, Italian food is great. The limelight is the foil cooked dishes.. Had classic grilled sandwich with cheese and frappucino. Sanwich was bland with hardly any cheese or vegetables. Cold coffee was very thin which was returned promptly by the staff and replaced by new slightly better one.<br/>Overall, food is just average. <br/>Ambience is nice and hip. Good music.<br/>The staff was very helpful and courteous.<br/>I really hope they make changes in the cooking style because I had a completely disappointing experience today as far as food is concerned.

The place deserves a fair rating for it's spacious interior and set up. Such a bad place this is.<br/>Me and my friends ordered pizza here(veg) and they served us a cold pizza in here,which spoiled the whole taste of it as who loves a damm cold pizza.Then we ordered a red sauce pasta here. Taste was okay, but the pata had a lot of tere pata in it,which made it a little spicy/sweet.Mocktails were good,though. I love this place and I hate the fact that it closed in Elante. I was introduced to this place by a very dear friend for their white sauce penne pasta and I've been a fan ever since. I don't think any place does pasta better than Girl In The Cafe. Other than that I also recently tried their vegetable stroganoff with rice which I absolutely loved. It is great for people like me who like a lot of veggies in their food. However, it isn't for people who are more into the traditional spicy palate that we're accustomed to. Try it only if you have a thing for eating new food.<br/>I also tried their coolers but they weren't particularly impressive so you can give them a skip, I guess.

Unique ambience which makes it perfect for candlelit dinners. The menu is good, and I especially liked their pasta. The service is also excellent.

Was there this afternoon... It was all quite but pretty pleasant for a sunny day<br/>I really liked the ambience.. with really good vibes<br/>Though the cafe looks a bit old and kind of rusty now, but still the cafe is better than alot of cafes around here. <br/>It also has an outdoor balcony seating to enjoy if it's a good weather and really good music with the perfect balance to the volume, very audible and still not hurting the ears and lets you talk normally to the person you're with.<br/>So I Ordered an iced cafe latte and classic cold coffee with a classic non veg grilled sandwich,<br/>The latte was bit on the okayish side while the cold coffee and sandwi were really good and they go along with each other pretty well too.<br/>Overall I enjoyed my time there, and it was worth the money.<br/>Definitely gonna go there again.<br/>Oh, and they have nice service and comfortable seating too! 😊😊

This place used to be the hottest spot in Chandigarh back in the days. But now it has lost its charm with the opening of other cafes and clubs in the city. This place has an option of outdoor seating as well. Ambience is good . Food is quite overpriced. Service is slow.

I have worst experience in this place. Really a "Worst" place i have ever tried. Food was so bad. We had ordered a pizza and a plate of pasta along with two mocktails. Even dont eat a slice of pizza or a bite of pasta. Mocktails were also worst. I really dont wanna see that place again. It was worst mistake to even think of trying it.😶

Ambience(3.5/5): The ambience of the place is good with a live kitchen and bar in the middle. Then there's a DJ for some real crazy music.<br/><br/>Food(1/5): The food preparation is below par as compared to any normal cafe.we ordered fries, burschetta platter and lasagna and to our surprise nothing was UpTo the mark.(half cooked lasagna , no masala in fries, burschetta was plain bread topped up by tomatoes - no cheese, no spice,no garlic)<br/><br/>Service(1/5): Service is not good at all.You need to hunt for waiters for 5-10 min to get a response.

Girl in the cafe is situated right at the centre of the city beautiful. I have been there twice and it does not have the same food services as it used to have an year back. Some of things like white sauce pasta and thin crust pizza are treat to eat especially pasta which leaves you wanting for more. The special thing about pasta is that they add red and yellow capsicum along with cucumber. The taste is very much italian and that creamy taste makes your tongue feel good.<br/><br/>However lot of other dishes have been quite disappointing. Now the service hasn't been that good although the ambience ia still great which is the best thing about this cafe. The seating outside is wonderful which gives you beautiful view outside from glass.<br/><br/>Thoughts: One time visit just because of the unique ambience and some dishes especially white pasta and pizza.

This place was a bomb at once but had a huge setback with opening of others in the business. Place was situated in the centre of the city and had a chance to do huge but just failed miserably. No wonder the place has lost its charm and vibe. Once it used to be a hotspot in the heart of tricity, now the place has gone pale. Visited GITC on a saturday night. The place was much empty with just 2-3 tables occupied.<br/><br/>Ordered white sauce pasta and veg pizza along with LIIT. The booze and the food were not upto the standards as well as upto the pricing. The presentation itself was not at all appealing and the service was like that they are doing a favour on us. <br/><br/>They also have DJ night on saturdays. The crowd steadily built up during this time. Hats off to the Dj who saved the night for us as well as for this review.(2 stars to the Dj itself). Not sure that I would visit again or recommend the place.<br/><br/>P.S.- The pasta we ordered was very cold and we asked to exchange it. The waiter gave us a cold look but exchanged it finally. I recommend that avoid visiting the place on saturdays especially if you are looking for fine dine.

Still a favourite. I know this place has become old but it still is a good place to chill out as there is absolutely nothing else in the vicinity. So I visited GITC recently and ordered the usual Pasta and Pizza and mocktails. Everything was good, service was great. The pasta had a little less salt but nothing too bad. It was lunch time on a weekday and we had the entire place to ourselves. <br/>The ambience is always the charm of this place and sitting outside on a sunny day is a lot of fun in the winter. <br/>Friends ordered beer battered fish and chips and claimed they were just like any normal fish and chips. The Pesto paneer Pizza was a delight though. Green apple mojito and another mojito in another flavor (cant remember which one) were all cool too.

A visit to Chandigarh and friend took me to this huge cafe on the 2nd floor of a clumsy building. The interiors were decent. We chose to sit outside. The service was slow and it was very difficult to get hold of someone though we were the only diners there.<br/>I loved the pomegranate mocktail I ordered, the minced meat pizza tasted nice but he keema on it was a lil dry. My friend liked his drink too :) they would do great if they work on their service.

Interiors of this place are very cute. Ordered a pizza which was very crisp, light and fresh. They have a live kitchen, very interesting to watch. Also ordered hummus and pita bread which has a very good consistency.

Gr8 setup.<br/><br/>We were on a quiet Thursday evening, but even then there were some parties. A dance floor, Dj. The whole nine yards for fun.<br/><br/>Our appetite was filled quickly with a bunch of appetizers, and we had no room for main courses.

Wonderful ambience great sitting place, I prefer outside sitting whenever the weather permits. I have tried their thin crust pizza with jalapeños and other veggies (can't remember the fancy name!). It's tasty and well made. Pasta is delicious as well. A quite, calm and relaxed place to hangout with friends. Reasonable prices (lookout for deals before visiting). Staff is courteous and service is timely.

Love this place for their grilled chicken..everything else on their menu is pretty much average. I happened to visit on a Wednesday night once and the place was too loud for a "café"..Also the place can be too dark at times...reading the menu also gets difficult....

Firstly,whats so good about this place... A good ambience.. open kitchen in the centre.. Their amazing sound system.. pretty high quality and a music station too.. perfect.. what's horrible is ordinary food.. Food is not bad.. but not above average... I gave a two cause there is nothing in the food.. neither presentation..nor taste that justifies the above average price tag for this place.. very very bad vfm.. Ordered : Cappuccino, macchiato, chocolate lava cake. <br/><br/>The coffees were amazing and chocolate lava cake was to die for. The cake was super moist and had hot chocolate sauce pouring out. The cold ice cream added the perfect touch! <br/><br/>The ambience was also great, the seating was very comfortable as well. Will definitely return!

Food: Virgin Mojito and Chocolate Shakes are good, Starters taste good but lack the quantity, Pesto Cottage Cheese Pizza was good with generous toppings of Cottage cheese. The Pizzas are baked in a wood oven. Nachos were Okay and can be passed.<br/><br/>Ambience and Seating: The decor is heavy and one has the option to either sit inside or outside in the Balcony (on good weather days, we prefer the balcony). The crowd here is always posh. On Wednesday Ladies Night the DJ is too good and with the dance and all the ambience is great.<br/><br/>Note: The Food is pricy but the great ambience makes up for the extra price. Cheers!

One of its kind in the city, this place is very easy to locate. They have indoor as well as outdoor (rooftop) seating arrangements. It has a great ambience. The place is usually less crowded. Food is good. Staff is cordial.

This was our first visit to the Girl In The Cafe, Was expecting it to be crowded as it was Saturday evening 9:00 PM but it was not so. We ordered a Pizza and Pasta, Pizza was was thin crust, no other option. Pasta was too sour, We make much better pasta and pizza at home. The ambience was good. But that's all that was good. Took tooo long for the order to come through. The food: Pathetic. We ordered 2 pastas: a red and white sauce penne pasta, it tasted ok but it was only a tiny portion. The garlic bread was cooked way too much and I could taste the ghee. We also ordered 2 pizzas, a veg & a non-veg one. The crust of the pizza was way too thin almost like a papad, pizza too tasted bad. Overall the experience was terrible. Waste of money in simple words.

Girl in the City is located in Sector 17, which is central location of the city. The seating arrangement is nice they have both indoor and outdoor arrangement. The seat are very comfortable and you can lean on them. The place is never much crowded so booking is not required.<br/><br/>We had been to this place in evening so had ordered sandwich and some drinks. Everything was above average but obviously not the best. They play some nice music which gives you the feeling of a pub.There is an open kitchen at the centre of this place and it looks great too.<br/><br/>Its a good cafe can be visited often but not among the exceptional.<br/><br/>Service is pretty good.

I visited this place in 2012 and again re-visited it last week, the venue is still charming and cute, though I feel the furnishing and paint needs a little upkeep.<br/><br/>We ordered an oreo shake and a strong cold coffee, along with a Bolognese pasta , the shakes had a good flavour and were quite filling, the pasta was quite delicious and again pretty filling.<br/><br/>Overall I think its a nice place to chill but mainly in the evenings and maybe weekends in the day, as on the weekday early evening, it was almost empty, also I feel the staff needs to be better trained and a little less over-bearing.<br/>  <br/>Would visit this cafe again :) !

If you order when you are 25, you can probably get a job, get married, have a few kids, send them off to college and come back by the time they bring you your food. When you and your friends are in your late 40s and a little old to groove to Calvin Harris, you may want to sit under their laser & strobe lights (what they call dancefloor) and have your food. The place is big enough to fit in half of Chandigarh but still remains empty.

Not my usual go to place but have attended a few ladies night here and they were good. The prices are on the higher side which in a way ensures the kind of crowd there. Personally I love their Pizzas and Cold Coffee. The ambience is lovely and they also have an open sitting area. Now they also have an outlet in Elante Mall but I'm yet to explore that one.

The girl visited the 'girl in the cafe' 3 years ago, but the ambience and food is still fresh in my mind. Memorable place. Beautiful interiors, cozy setup and a good menu. Their wood smoked pizza and tiramisu are too good.

Went here today with some close friends. The place was not crowded at that hour. Ambience was good and the staff was very well spoken. We ordered Veg and Non veg pastas in white sauce and Cottage cheese pizza and BBQ chicken pizza. Taste and quality was just amazing.

Girl in the cafe has always been one of my favorite place in Sector 17 to chill and meet friends. The place is not usually crowded on weekends and there's ample space for everyone to relax and chill. <br/><br/>The place along-with good alcohol and music, the food is great here which is very unlike for a cafe with live DJ. Burgers and pizzas here are a must try for everyone. The best experience here is eating and drinking in the open area section of this cafe while having a view of whole of the Sector 17.

A good interior and outdoor seating is the only thing they have ....its more like shosha...as in dikhawa where everything looks good , every dish has awesome presentation but when coming to contents its not worth it .......they seriously need to work on taste and authenticity of their dishes .....

I still don't understand why this place has a rating of 3.5. I had a very bad dining experience here. First of all, we were not offered water (something which should be the top priority), it was only when we had requested (thrice) that they served it to us. <br/><br/>The LIIT and cold coffee were okay, but the non-veg platter which included, sausages, bacon, chicken and sunny side up was a blunder! The food was served cold and the meat was hard and chewy. Even the presentation was ugly! We had to send it back to reheat, but guess what? It grew more hard! I suppose they don't serve fresh meat. <br/><br/>Moving on, we ordered one chicken dish with spaghetti (forgot the name) and when the server got the order after half an hour, he brought rice instead of spaghetti. When we told him we had ordered spaghetti, he further argued with us that we had ordered for rice and not for spaghetti. <br/><br/>Both, the service and food were pathetic. Even the manager who came to our table couldn't do anything. He just kept looking at us with a sad face. It was such a pathetic experience! Never going back!

We been here for celebrating my frnz b day .... It's Delicious Italian cuisine ... N dhinchak music which make u stepped out for dancing , very co-operative staff and soothing location ... We enjoyed alot with showering of unlimited mocktail n delicious food .

me and my friends fav place to party on saturday/wednesdays or any random afternoons. I am a regular here since last 3 years and almost every month i have been here. I have made sure that all the people i know have been to this place with me for a few drinks. on Saturdays & Wednesdays its not crowded , at times very few people in but i like it that way and thats the reason i come here again and again and again. Apart from the booze and DJ over the party nights, their food is really very good. They serve a great deal of items from Shawarmas to burgers, pizzas, Chinese to grilled. The cocktails are nice and ambience and service will add in to the experience. Try lunches in open and while you're having a good view of sec 17e enjoy the food. Manish is very sublime and courteous manager taking care of all the things.

Because of its ambiance. It's chic and classy. Love the decor and the colour scheme of the place. Coming down to the food, their tiramisu is to die for! The chicken wings were cooked perfectly and were covered in this amazing sweet and spicy sauce because of which, I ordered them for the second time. I wasn't much of a fan of mushroom until I had these cigar rolls of theirs. Damn, those rolls! Awesome Pasta <br/>My daughter loves eating Pasta and she really liked it here . We tried Pasta Nachos and Virgin Mojito here .Everything was really tasty and up to the mark . The ambience is fantastic with big windows all around the cafe .

Nice ambience......horrible food......too costly..waste of money. music was also bad. Waiter was rude too. Washrooms were also sub standard...

II think it really compromise with value for money although food and ambience is pretty good and rating this place 3.5 is the only possible justification for it.

Food and drinks are just average, and with comparatively steep prices, we definitely felt that it wasn't value for money. But the crowd in this place is good - so it's a nice hangout destination, given the unconventional ambiance, and the rooftop seating area in the side, which is a total delight! Staff is diligent as well.

I have visited Girl in the Cafe thrice and at all times it was a get together with school friends, so simply because of this reason I’m in love with this place. Love their interiors- very chic and perfectly complimenting the name of the cafe.<br/> The place is done up well, interesting interiors with a much better presentation of food and drinks and a huge open bar with so many mocktails to choose from. Coming to the food; it tastes great, looks gorgeous and is adequately priced. Nice collection of salads and shakes making it even better for the chit chat sessions to go on for hours.<br/><br/>My favourites at this cafe are lebanese shawarmas , nachos and quesadillas. Do try the shakes as well, I personally like chocolate mint shake. <br/><br/>Cost wise; the prices don't pinch you since the portions are pretty big.

The ambiance is girly as the name suggests with pink and floral couches as well as wooden decor. The food is decent. The shakes are so so, but the food is good.

Their Food Menu n its Quality is good,should lower the Prices a lil' n also the Music needs a better Playlist,Ambience is Good,service not so good!

Average on every scale . Nice ambiance , nothing extraordinary. High prices in comparison to what is served on the plate and what it tastes like. Average quantity and quality sandwiches and burgers . Nothing special or memorable .<br/>So over all an average place but expensive, good for one time visit.

Three of us came here for breakfast recently. The service was OK - but not great considering we were the only people in the restaurant. Food would have been good but it arrived cold.

Very sad and unorganized place. The manger was extremely rude and stupid.went to check out the place and paid the undeserved cover charges. However since we did not like the place,decided to move out without ordering. the manager strictly refused to refund the cover charge and insisted we had to take away food or drinks instead. Very stupid policy and must say ,extremely desperate.

This is place which sector 17 looking. If weather is awesome you can enjoy outside. Great ambience and place for hangout. Open kitchen and with great music.

Awesome place to hangout, the staff is super friendly and the sitting arrangement inside is very comfortable, but outside it's quite uneasy to sit. The food here is awesome and the drinks are fabulous!

Girl in the cafe, Sec 17 Chd, is a okay place for having food.<br/>They have indoor as well as outdoor sitting areas.<br/>Dj is okay and service is average.<br/>I like to visit GITC on alternate Saturday eves as they have Salsa socials.<br/><br/>

please go get a life morons , if you like food from this place. The only good thing about them is interiors, nothing else. Waiters dont know how to talk , half of them dont understand the menu , dont even know about the ingredients ; please this is hospitality industry , so go train the servers. try giving better quality and a bit more portion size bcoz u people charge a lot . Its not worth it for me atleast

Been here few times..one of the over hyped place in Chandigarh..<br/>Staff is not so friendly.. Have even found a nut bolt served in my pasta which was also overpriced..lol..will not recommend as there are many better cafes in chd!!<br/>They are able to attract customers only because of their location..rest..its not worth it..

Girl In The Cafe (GITC) is a good looking Cafe located in the heart of this beautiful city (sector 17, and there is also one at Elante Mall). Ironically, I could not find even a single girl there. <br/><br/>The location could not have been better. Sector 17 market is the most perfect location in Chandigarh and if you have a cafe there, you have already won half of the battle. Though the actual location of the cafe is a bit confusing. I tried to reach through the stairs and ended up finding their kitchen. One should rather use the elevator here. <br/><br/>One word for the ambiance here – Grand. The place is so big and is designed so nicely that it immediately sets the mood. The upbeat music gives you a pub like feeling and the comfortable furniture along with interiors give you the feel of a cafe. So it’s a perfect combination of both in that sense. There is an open kitchen at the centre of this place and it looks great too (well managed by kitchen staff).<br/><br/>Coming to the food, since I was here for the breakfast, I ordered a Mint Chocolate Cookie Chip shake and a GITC Club Sandwich. <br/><br/>The shake was nice, won’t say it was one of the best shakes of my life, because frankly speaking in terms of cost, it certainly was... But the sandwich was better. I liked the masala that they had wrapped inside the breads. It is served with fresh piece of cabbage and french fries. Breads though were not perfectly baked. <br/><br/>Service here was pretty good, except that I had to wait on certain occasions. <br/><br/>I am sure this would be a much better place to visit during night with the ambiance and the crowd. And the alcoholic drinks make much more sense then. But for now, I would say – it’s a good cafe, nothing exceptional. And specially when it comes to value for money – it still has a long way to go.

Well, Girl in the Cafe..... First thing comes into mind is their compact yet clean cooking area. I love how spacious their interior is, you will not have to worry about the crowd bumping into each other.... lively atmosphere. But when it comes to food, I am telling you folks its just "OK". No doubt they have a lot of variety..... but when you order something out of that huge pile, it is just ordinary in taste. Overall, it's good to just hangout for their lovely Decor' and Coffee !!

This place never fails to disappoint me.. Like for real, I went there twice and both the times food was horrible!!<br/>1. Cutlery dirty<br/>2. They don't ask if you need water<br/>3. Food had hair strands- they changed the dish but it was still the same

One of the worst places to eat out at. <br/>High prices and consistently below-average food do not a good combination make.<br/>And no, ambiance and location cannot be a substitute for good food.

Gals in the cafe is a sweet entrance ... But u may disappoint while entering to this restro as this having small and average entrance style but its looks lovely inside.. Very spacious and ambience is nice I tried cheese Nacho's that was nice taste .. They don't serve draft beer .. Some food items are nice... Its nice restro :-)

Girl in the cafe has one of the coolest interiors one can imagine ;spacious , airy , comfortable , cute everything but goodness ends there only.<br/>They charge like anything from people and still serving water in free Royal Challenge glasses . I am absolutely shocked to see this. <br/>Along with it they served me cold coffee in Kingfisher beer glass. <br/>Can anyone tell them that whisky , beer ,water and coffee glasses are different. Pathetic from the management.<br/>Pasta fuesli was nothing special. Had a bland taste . Every time the story is same. Pizzas are ordinary as well. I don't understand what people love about it. Not at all recommended.

I have been to Girl in the Cafe twice. Both the times I have had long due reunions with friends and family. ???? So, yes I have had a good time at this place!<br/>This place is not your typical small cosy cafe which is what comes to my mind when I think of the word 'cafe'. It is much bigger and offers a lot of seating majorly indoors with probably about 5 tables outside on the balcony. The sofas had a low seating which was not very comfortable for me. But that was the only hiccup. Otherwise the place has a great feel! The ambience is very nice. I would rate it a 4.3/5.<br/>Coming to the food, it serves a whole lot of things: soups, salads, pastas, pizzas, and much more. And drinks again it was a house full! The entrance gives u a picture of an small ordinary place. But when you enter its seems the opposite. Nice ambience with a girlie touch, spacious with outside sitting as well. For drinks i ordered White Sangria and Cosmopolitan. For food ordered the Queeny Nachos and Toasted Pita Bread with Hummus. The drinks were nice and strong. The Nachos were crisp and nicely blended with the sour cream, cheese and salsa. For the Pita breads it was too crispy. I couldn't enjoy eating it. Hummus was served in a big serving bowl. It was good but a bit salty. <br/>Suggestion: The Sangria should be served with a long wooden tooth pick or a long spoon for the fruits. <br/>Also, dont get ur Pita breads toasted. It'll become like kachcha papad.

Went to this place a few months ago. ordered a non veg gourmet pizza which wasn't very nice. the base was hard and tasteless. the pasta was still better. ordered a tiramisu for the dessert which wasn't upto the mark either. :| It's located in the downtown of the tricity, I hadn't expected it to be so average. the ambience and the outdoor seating area is the best aspect of all.

2 for a very mediocre experience and what was a feather (I'm guessing from an egg since it's a kitchen) in my walnut 'pudding' which was a replacement for the really bad tiramisu. <br/>Also, really really bad coffee. We ordered 2 different coffees and they were both the same thing, just in different glasses. And no foam. In a latte. Just why. <br/>On the food, just very average.

I went there to have fun with friends, The music was boring and light were not upto the mark. The furniture was fine but i really didn't like the service. Ordered Pizza and Pasta, I would say it was overpriced and the taste is not good when we compare the same with other restaurants. <br/><br/>I didn't like the crowd too, Pure Punjabi villager guys teaching and staring at girls with Kurta Pajama's.. <br/>
