Review Kokni Kanteen Goa - Panjim

Two visits in a week. Says it all. Lovely food, fresh and flavourful. The seafood here is a winner. Chapatis are soft and warm like silk.

It is worth the hype & the wait. They are super busy. No convenient four wheeler parking available. Two wheeler is the best way to go here. The quality & quantity of the food is top notch. They have a hard stop for lunch dining at about 2pm. We need to be there before that to get a token. It's the best if you are a group of four people, otherwise there is a good chance that you may have to share a table. At this point, they should do something about seating & criwd management.

I just love the place the ambience and the location. Food was not as expected. The taste and quality doesn't justify saying authentic or vintage restaurant. Still lot of rush most of the time as people like me want to explore what's spl about these old places.

For an authentic Goanese Konkani culinary experience, this establishment is a must-visit in Goa. Their extensive fish menu boasts a variety of delights, including rawa fry of Surmai, tisrya, and prawns, all cooked to perfection. The prawns, in particular, stood out for their tender and fresh texture, a refreshing departure from the overcooked and rubbery version often found elsewhere. Accompanied by flavorful solkadhi, rice, and the delightful Portuguese dessert serradura, the meal was truly exceptional. Despite a minor billing mishap (quickly rectified by the apologetic staff), I award this place 5 stars across the board. However will take one away for the billing error. Its cozy popularity means waiting in line is likely, but trust me, it's well worth it. I'll return every time I'm in Goa and enthusiastically recommend you do the same!

It's one small place in the heart of Panjim couple of streets away to all the casinos. Eventhough we heard the lunch thali is the best we could go only in the evening. We did order kokum soda mocktail, rice, rawa fried prawns and king fish Goan fish curry. Oh boi it was amazingly. Huge quantity prawns - about 12 pieces I think. Big prawns, cleaned and fried extremely well. It tasted yum Fish curry - coming from a place that has fish curry every day. The Goan version was another version of how good fish curries can be. King fish was awesome Kokum drink - another hit. Don't miss this place if you are around Panjim for a good lunch or dinner.

Discovered a renowned eatery in Panjim, offering an authentic Goan thali and a variety of Goan dishes. Despite its small size, the place is clean with a lively ambiance. The Goan thali is a feast with a variety of dry seafood dishes, two fish curries, fried fish, and accompaniments paired with Goan red rice. The menu also boasts a range of fresh seafood options. Be prepared for a bit of a wait during peak lunch/dinner hours – a testament to its popularity!

The best Goan thali experience ever. The food served is very delicious and pricing is reasonable. The place is crowded and you need to wait a minimum 30 mins to get your seats and they manage the queue using a token service. Service was good, but the restaurant is very small. You will find parking in the nearby streets. Highly recommended

The place is fabulous with a combination of service and taste the menu is short with best Goan dishes ,we had veg biryani which was moist and spicy quantity was enough for 3 people, and chicken & fish rava fry properly marinated and fried served in simple plates and the vibes here are totally different. Would rate the place 4.5 out of 5 , highly recommended place in the heart of the city for local Goan cuisine.👌👌

Definitely not to be missed experience in Goa. The food and drinks were both really good. Well cooked, well served and tasted absolutely amazing. We had veg thali and tried all the desserts.

Finally, we were able to make it !! Although it was waiting for almost 45-60 minutes , it was worth the wait. We tried Bappa Thali which had all the Goan delicacies. Bombil Fry was also very sumpsous. But what won our heart was Cashew Fenni. Must Try place in Goa for authentic Goan cuisine!!

Foooood...was it amazing... Yes!!! We tried the tava fry king fish, silver fish rava fry and prawn curry with rice... Wow it was very flavourful. Both the Tava fry and rava fry were great tasting and you can have more than one any time. The prawn curry was yum which is coconut based and the spice was balanced and goes great with rice. I would have preferred normal rice than basmati as normal rice would soak the curry well. The prawn curry had very few small prawns which could have been better. But that does not curtail this food rating. The quality of drink in Goa has always been good and the Kaastad Mojito (Kokum based) here was refreshing and and can relish it all day 😁... Recommending this place goes without saying... The restaurant is not big and you may have to wait in peak hours and is a first cum first serve basis... Must try if you are here in Goa...

Great food taste. Thali not on menu but popular. Everything except the wait is good about the place. Ac, bar, service all super. Prince the Manager realised our senior citizen status and gave us table in priority. Washrooms are good. Bit congested tables. No prior reservation of tables taken.

I recently had the pleasure of dining once againg at Kokni Kanteen in Panjim, Goa, and I must say it was an unforgettable culinary experience. This charming little restaurant, tucked away in the heart of Panjim, is a hidden gem for anyone seeking authentic Goan delicacies. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy, welcoming ambiance. The restaurant's décor exudes a rustic charm, adding to the overall delightful dining atmosphere. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, always ready to assist with recommendations and making sure my dining experience was exceptional. Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the food! Kokni Kanteen truly excels in offering a wide array of Goan delicacies that are prepared with love and respect for the region's rich culinary heritage. The menu is a treasure trove of flavors, boasting an extensive selection of seafood, meat, and vegetarian dishes. I started my culinary journey with the Goan prawn balchão, Sungta Kismoor and it was an explosion of flavors in every bite. The prawns were perfectly cooked and smothered in a tangy and spicy balchão sauce that left me craving for more. The Goan fish curry rice is the MUST HAVE was another highlight, with its luscious coconut-based gravy and tender fish that melted in my mouth. For those who dont want to have the fish thali, can definitely try the GOAN Prawns Pulao , light , scrumcious and a total value for money. Kokni Kanteen in Panjim, Goa, is a must-visit for anyone who wishes to savor the true essence of Goan cuisine. The restaurant's dedication to preserving the region's culinary heritage and the delightful flavors in each dish left a lasting impression on me. I would highly recommend this restaurant to locals and tourists alike, as it promises an unforgettable gastronomic journey through the vibrant world of Goan delicacies.

Great place for the best konkani food to eat. Lovely ambience and service. The wait time should be reduced and more sitting should be added. Overall a must when you are in Goa.

Easily one of the best authentic Konkani eatery in Goa. Food is simply succulent. They always have huge crowds coming in , so reach there well ahead of time.

Nestled in the commercial area of Panjim that is at a walkable distance from Fontainhas, this place offers a great variety of traditional Konkan and Goan cuisine that is lip-smacking delicious with authentic flavours. We tried Xacuti, Manzani, Rava Fry, Seradurah and Veg Thali here at three different occasions as we found this place to be really good. The staff is courteous and friendly and their service was fast. We didn’t face any waiting time except on one day when we went for Lunch during a weekend as we visited it during Monsoon. I would highly recommend this place for Lunch or Dinner options if you are in Panjim. Please note that they don’t serve Thalis in Dinner and they close by 3 pm for Lunch.

Best place for sea food lovers. We ordered sumai thali, prawns thali. Both were extremely great. Sea food is soo fresh and well marinated. Absolutely delicious Surmai. 😋 Must Visit this place

We visited this place during the lockdown and yes it was fab it was my first time. Fresh fish /good quantity and good times that sums up a great day at this restaurant. Because of the lockdown there were many fish that was unavailable but the thali was good and it is worth the price too.

Maybe it had something to do with high expectations, but this goan place didn't impress. Portion sizes were quite small, the butter garlic prawns were tiny sized and over priced, the chicken & veg xacuti was very spicy for our taste buds at least, and overall it wasn't a great meal. Yes, it surely tastes like home made food and that's a credit I must give to the place, but it doesn't quite match up to other goan places in Anjuna/Candolim in my opinion. It may have a lot to do with post-lockdown time, but cudnt really understand why this is such a cult place visited by Bollywood celebrities!!

Serradura also known as sawdust pudding, or Macau pudding, is a well-known Portuguese dessert. It is a combination of whipped cream and crumbled Marie biscuit in a layered outlook. Serradura is a Portuguese word for “sawdust”, and refers to the very crumbs of the biscuits in the pudding.<br/>.<br/>I visited the Kokni Kanteen in Goa which is a famous for its Portuguese cuisine and tried Serradura and Kokum drink to wash down all that Goan humidity. <br/>.<br/>Pro Tip: Remember that they don’t do reservations, so once you show up there might be some wait time, but don’t let that deter you! Trust me, it is worth the wait!
Prafull Deosarkar
One of the best reasonable priced restaurant in Panjim.

Want to taste authentic Goan style cuisine just walk down Dada vaidya road in the heart of panjim & step into nostalgia @koknikanteengoa .<br/><br/>This place is a paradise for sea food lovers, looking for some local flavours & is super crowded during afternoon. I had to wait for almost 30 min for a table & didn’t get perfect lighting for Instagram photography. <br/><br/>But the food completely compensated! This place truly deserves appreciation ❤️<br/>In frame:Fried Kingfish Thali <br/>Consisting rice, bangdo curry, tisryo, fried king fish, kismor, pickle, salad, bhaji , lepo ambot tik & solkadi.

Known for it's authentic jevan, this should be the first place in Goa that you should try. Kokani Kanteen is another must visit food destination, if you are in Goa. We drove 40kms just so that we don't miss this place while in Goa. And the food was really authentic.<br/><br/>The place is always crowded and we had to wait for 25mins to be seated. Most items on the menu get over quickly, so try visiting the place for lunch or early dinner. We could not get our hands on their famous fish thali ):<br/><br/>We ordered Chonak Rava Fry and it was really fresh and delicious. Next was King Fish Ambotik and Rice. And its easily the freshest King Fish, with the best Ambotik. Serving was large but I could gorge all of that sweet spicy tangy Ambotik. Yummy.<br/><br/>Ambience is very well done and is full of desi kokani motifs. Seating area is little as this is a really old place. Staff is courteous and helpful and would guide you through the menu and portions. Serve is swift. <br/><br/>Food 5<br/>Ambience 4<br/>Service 5<br/>Cost 4<br/><br/>Overall 4.5

It's is little place in Panjim. Make sure you reach by the time it opens for lunch, since it gets filled very soon. Coming to the food, had their fish thali and it turned out to amazing. The rawa fried fish and prawn curry were amazing. Also special mention for their cerdura which was out of this world, one the best i ever had. If ur in Goa, this place is a must visit
Yeshwanth Sai
This is the only non-veg place we have been in goa.<br/>Konkani cuisine in vintage style.<br/>The ambiance was really good and the place was pleasant with soft music.

Kokni Kanteen is a nice place located in the heart of panjim city.. Specialty of this place i would say is seafood and thier fish thali for lunch. Apart from this the menu is very small n there are very chicken dishes.. Parking is another thing that may bother you in the busy hours of day... No compromise on Ambience and Quality of the food and the service was also quick... Overall a nice experience

Easy to find. Very authentic taste. The fish plate is very nice. Place is a bit small so expect a bit of waiting time during lunch and dinner. It's veg thali is also awesome

We visited this place for dinner yesterday. The ambiance was really good. A bit dark but nice and cozy. We ordered the Chonak Rawa fry. It was nice as you normally get every where in Goa. For the mains we ordered the Mori curry and rice. I thought the quantity of fish was less. The main reason we were there was the desert. The Ceredura and Pos. Ceredura is a porguese sweet. It's nice not to sweet and Pos is more like Kharvas with a hint of cummen.

Absolutely amazing seafood 💕 almost was in love with the food can't be thankful enough for so delicious food. This place serves amazing fish Thalis and Chicken thali. The curries was accurately flavoured with perfect blend of spices.<br/><br/>My personal recommendation will be to try their typical Goa Thalis definitely made my day.💕<br/><br/>Very good customer service and this place is always crowded with food lovers.<br/><br/>To all the Goa visitors should definitely visit once💕💕
Kedar Mirchandani
Had to wait a long time to be seated, only to be told that thali cannot be shared, and most beverages were not available. Butter garlic prawns were utterly underwhelming. Chicken cafreal was okay, but not a touch on the one at caravels cafe down the road. Definitely an overrated experience. Will try viva Panjim next time.
Mahesh&Sanghamitra
As the name itself suggests, this place serves some aunthentic konkani and goan food, that too at reasonable prices. The Ambience is rustic, resembling konkani theme, pictures nailed on the walls about the places history.<br/>The food here is amazing and the price to proportion ratio is good. The goan prawns curry i had was amazing, with coconut as base and the flavours were properly balanced.<br/>The Goan Chicken Chilli was more or less like a regular Chicken chilli, but tasted delicious nine the less.<br/>The kulchas here as soft and i liked them as well. The garlic kulcha is highly recommended
Shruti Patil
Lovely restaurant to have Goan food. Had prawns sukha, bangda fry, mussels fry, alone with chicken lollipops, chicken biryani and prawn noodles. All dishes were very tasty. And the cherry on top was the goan dessert serradura!!

Answer to my hunt for authentic Konkani lunch...quintessential when in GOA after a relaxing dip in the sea. :)

Hi. <br/><br/>If u r a seafood lover this place is ur paradise. <br/>Lip smacking surmai rava fry and prawn rava fry .<br/><br/>Seafood thali is iNr 270 and it is jus amazing. <br/><br/>If u r In Goa try this awesome place , jus near to panjim market. <br/><br/>Thanks

Nice seafood thali. Only concern was the quantity. A person with average diet can’t eat which eventually get wasted. Apart from this taste wise it was good.
Old Fashioned
Everything was fine had a great lunch

Probably the best Konkani joint in Goa.

I personally love this place. Masala Squids at our very own @koknikanteen ♥🙌 Visited this place for the first time. From the ambience, to the service, to the food; everything was so perfect..Enjoying goan food with a perfectly matched ambience just makes the food even more tasty..For all the Goan Food Lover, you must try, if you haven't yet. Also, please do try their Fish thali and Chicken Cafreal

I admit I haven’t explored much of Goa but I also admit I have made way too many Goan friends and all of them had recommended Kokni Kanteen. If not for the sake of best sea food or best Goan cuisine in Goa, then go for the sake of my Goan friends😄.

An awesome find in Goa panaji, which has such authentic food and ambience that you would like to relive such times again nd again. We were in Goa for 3 days and out of them took 3 meals at this Restaurant! A must visit place in Goa for sure!!! Crispy fried squids was my favourite here.

Located in Panjim, Kokni Kanteen has a lovely ambience and exudes rustic Goan vibes. We went there to taste authentic Goan style cuisine (homely, flavorful and real sea food) but when we reached the place it was filled with people and we had to wait for half an hour to get a table.<br/><br/>We had the Surmai Thali which literally defines 'value for money'. It consisted of Fluffy rice, Surmai Fish Fry, Fish Curry, Solkadi, Dry Bangda, 'dont remember the dish', vegetable bhaji and some salad. We also had the stuffed Crab which was really good and definitely worth the price if you are a crab lover.<br/><br/>The prawn biryani was 'meh' and also made me think 'Why did i even think of eating biryani with prawns? It tastes best with red meat anyways :)'<br/><br/>P.S. the desserts were amazing, i think i  have had serradura and bibinca at all places which serve them and this was one of the better ones.<br/><br/>Taste -4/5<br/><br/>Service -5/5<br/><br/>Ambience -4/5<br/><br/>Value for money- 5/5<br/><br/>Overall- 4/5<br/><br/>I strongly recommend this place for your next visit to Panjim.

I went to this place when me and my friends went for a trip to goa. It is a well known place for Seafood lovers but I being Vegetarian was very dicey about it.<br/>We ordered VEG THALI which was very big and consisted of 3 Gravy and 1 sukha bhaji along with Pakoras, Papad, Rice, sol kadhi and achaar. It was good enough for two. Dal fry was my favourite. I also liked the sukha bhaji. The accompanied items also tasted good. It was very surprising but it is definitely one of the good Vegetarian place.<br/>The star of the evening were their famous Dessert which were something I had never tried and are something I would like to eat again. We had GOA'S BEST CERDURA and BEBINCA. They are a must try.<br/><br/>Overall My experience being a Vegetarian was good.

On Monday we were in Panjim and didn’t know what to do for lunch. We have visited George’s, Martin’s corner and Ritz Classic multiple times over the years. So this time when we used internet to see the best places in Panjim. And we found this place rated 4.5 in zomato trip advisor and google. Looking at the reviews we decided to drop in for lunch. The restaurant had just opened and in no time it was packed. We got the corner table so we could sit and enjoy the food. The ambiance was amazing lot of antiques displayed. It’s a small place but very comfortable. We ordered for coconut fenny with 7up, along with kokum made with coconut milk. Both the drinks were really nice. For starters we ordered for <br/><br/>Butter garlic squid<br/><br/>Phodi - Vangi (sliced brinjal coated in Rawa and fried <br/><br/>Bombil fry - Bombayduck Rawa fry<br/><br/>The famous in this place Fish thali -severed with a portion of rice, sheer fish gravy in Harwo Masala( green masala) , Bangda teppal ambat, sungta dangar, veg sides, kismoor (prawn), spicy kokum, salad, pickle and Slice of sheer fish Rawa fry.<br/><br/>A must visit place I liked this way better than Ritz Classic.<br/><br/>#seafoodlove #konkancusine #goanfood #goanfoodblog #panjimgoa #couplegoals #foodies #foodphotography #foodblogger #koknikanteengoa

The food was simply delicious and mouth watering!! Went during dinner time which was full of rush. Had to wait for 15 mins to get a table. Ordered A-la- carte prawn curry, rice and king fish fry and sol kadi. It was simply superb.

One of the very popular places to have goan food! The ambience is cozy and comfortable. They have a short menu, but serves best food.<br/><br/>Starters -<br/>•Fresh fish fry ( Pomfret) - Being in goa, the fish had to be fresh and was also cooked till perfection<br/>•Golden prawns - They were dipped in batter and deep fried<br/>•Peanut fry - Bolied peanuts were served with onion, tomato, corriander and some condiments.<br/><br/>Maincourse -<br/>•Prawns curry - Tasted ultimate<br/>(®)<br/>•Kokni sukha chicken - The gravy was had a perfect taste<br/>•Kaju green peas bhaji - The kaju being the king, was cooked good and served well<br/><br/>Dessert -<br/>•Goa's best Cerdura - One of my personal favorites from the entire list. The traditional ceradura they serve is one of the things that you should definitely taste!<br/>(®®)

Got the table after one hour wait. Food was authentic Konkan cuisine. Cocktails were unique and refreshing. Really liked Ceradura
Aditya Sagvekar
We had to wait for 1 hour but it was totally worth it. The food is amazing. We ordered Pomfret and Surmai (Kingfish) tawa fry and Chonak (White Snapper) rawa fry. Usually, I avoid ordering rawa fry as many hotels use excess rawa and the fish tastes different. But the Chonak rawa fry was delicious. We also tried their Surmai thali and Fish Xacuti. The Xacuti was simply amazing. For desserts, we ordered their famous Serradura. The staff is polite anf very co-operative. If you are planning to visit the restaurant, please consider a minimum waiting time of 30 mins.
Aparna Jairaj
We waited an hour to get a table. For lunch. Had the seafood thali which was good for the price, but not excellent though. We also tried the chicken Sukka which was too salty, and prawns curry which was ok-ish. The Goan pudding and kokum juice we had was excellent. But all over, it was a lukewarm experience... Not worth the waiting.

Want to taste authentic Goan style cuisines this is the perfect place .Just walk down Dada Vaidya Road in the heart of Panjim and step into nostalgia at Kokni Kanteen, 1972, welcoming and cozy with a quaint 1970s Goan charm. so i badly wanted to taste goan style food so we visited this place for dinner. And this was my first time i tasted crab and i loved it ,it just tasted awesome and i was in luv with the dish.<br/>Chicken Rava fry -deep fried chicken coated with spices and rava.this dish is just awesome it does need any chutney or sauce .prawns biriyani was simple flavors ,it tasted good.<br/>i strongly recommend this place and do visit this place wen ur in goa.<br/><br/>We ordered:<br/>➖➖➖➖➖<br/>Stuffed Crab<br/>Chicken Rava fry<br/>Prawns special biriyani<br/>kokum juice.<br/><br/>Recommend dishes:<br/>➖➖➖➖➖➖➖<br/>Stuffed Crab<br/>Chicken Rava fry<br/>kokum juice.<br/><br/>Overall:9/10<br/>Service:9/10<br/>Ambience:9/10<br/>Value for money:8/10<br/>Taste:9/10

A great place to have seafood. This place is also easy to locate.<br/>Had the Surmai Thali which was completely loaded with food compared to its price. <br/>It consisted of Rice, Surmai Fish Fry, Salad, Fish Curry, Sol Kadhi, Dry Bangda, Clam Masala and a vegetable bhaji.<br/>The fish and the clams were the highlight of this thali and were really really good.<br/>Veg Thali was also good and it consisted of chapati, dal fry, bhaji, fried brinjal, sol kadhi, papad and some other assortments.<br/>For desserts, we had bebinca and Ceradura which local Goan Sweets and we really enjoyed them.

Blown away by the flavors! Just one word to sum up - Wow!! Ordered almost everything they have with prawns and was I treated to an afternoon full of foodgasm! For people who love simplicity and for whom flavor is paramount - head over to Kokni Kanteen for a wonderful experience!

One of the best restaurants in Goa. The place was full of crowd and we had to wait for 20 mins to get a table. But the wait was worth it. The food was very good..it was subtle, homely and the fish was fresh and full of flavours. The portions was more than enough for one person and definitely value for money. The number of dishes and fish pieces served in the fish thali was definitely worth the amount paid for it.<br/>Food-5/5, service-5/5, ambience -4/5

Great place to have goan food with original names and taste. Just loved it. Normal settings in an old goan home. Service is excellent. Pricing very reasonable. Enjoyed the evening with family and good awesome food.

My friend's friend suggested to visit to this place. When we reached it was quite crowded. Gave me an impression that I'm sure about to have some good food here. As a vegetarian you have very less options to eat while my friends said that sea food was amazing here. I also like the Veg thali here. Stomach filling. The dessert was to die for. I had ordered Serradura : a famous Goan dessert and it was heaven!! The prices and quantity was also good enough.

If you want to have authentic Goan food with a cozy environment this is the place. Price is very much reasonable and food is yumm. We tried prawn curry and squid rawa fry and loved it. The dessert we ordered was kind of pudding with marie biscuit named Goas best ceradura.. never loved marie in this way believe me. Ahh miss the place and the konkani music in background

After hearing so much about this place, we gave it a go despite knowing of the long queue we would have to wait in.<br/>After finally getting a place to seat, we ordered for the fish thali (kingfish/surmai) and a portion of bombay duck.<br/>The bombay duck was a good portion size of 4 pieces of fish and were so well fried and tasted so amazing.<br/>Coming to the fish thali, everything was good from the rice being cooked well to the fish fried to perfection but the only thing that I didn't like was the shell fish (clams) - they were of moderate size yet the preparation made it feel like just coconut and empty shells..

If you are in Goa and wanna have authentic Konkani food then this is just the right place<br/>The ambience is nice and cozy the staff is kind and lets come to food. <br/>I ordered chilli chicken that too in Konkani style believe me I loved it more than the Chinese version of it<br/>Next we ordered fish which I did not like much maybe because it was not fried.<br/>My favourite dish that I ordered twice was the garlic prawn which was the best dish of day and it did make my day😋<br/>The papad was also nice and tasty and the kokam sharbat complimented it well . <br/>Coming to sweet dish bebinca and ceradura were equally good and authentic 🤤🤤<br/><br/>A must visit place if you are in Panji

Place is quite decent !! Ordered fish chonak, it’s priced at Rs 450 just for 2 small slice of butter chonak fish fry. It taste nice but it’s too costly . Same is the case with squids fry. All and all heavy on pocket . 3 star is only for taste .

I am a resident of Panjim and a regular customer for Konkani canteen for more than a year. Every time order is fish thali it was wonderful. But the recent times they are serving basmati rice for fish thali which makes it really terrible. I even asked the server weather they have changed the rice but they lied and said it’s always the same. I know how konkani kanteen fish thali would be it’s the best in town. I really respect them to change the rice that they are giving to fish thali.

First all I don't understand why they have kept menu like fish thali in for lunch only. We went there with lots of positive reviews but the taste is not that good. We order mori xacuti but it was mori fish with potato. Some may like such vej and fish mix cury but not all. Also we order couple of starters those were more of vej salad and less non vej. It's like a cheat to the customer. R4 rd I really don't understand why people give such positive reviews for such taste. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone

Heard a lot about this place so decided to visit for lunch ... Ambience is beautiful and I expected the food to be as good but sad to say was hardly worth the 4.5 * it has on Zomato.<br/>Fish Thali was pretty good but the accompaniments were rank bad . The Xinaneo ( Mussels ) werent fresh and that too cooked in reused oil . The Chicken Xacuti was a just a plain watery gravy .<br/>Service is nothing to write home about but that can be attributed to a heavy crowd .<br/>Definitely made a mistake coming here

Guys this place is a must Visit for Sea food lovers. This place is located in panaji 30 mins from North goa. I was searching sea food place and I got this . I wanted to visit this place and trust me they are amazing. We ordered the fish thali with king fish(surmai) as expected it was tasty and huge. It's pretty good for 1. Then ordered chanak fry and bombil fry they were crispy and not oily at all. We also ordered Goan chicken chilly to our surprise it was good too. Guys Vegetarian can also go and enjoy the food they have great variety. My friend ordered a Goan pulao it was so delicious that all others were full but we couldn't resist after eating 1 spoon of it. Trust me non vegetarian is complimenting veg food you could just imagine how good it was. Keep the good work guys...

Highly celebrated and visited eating spot. Friendly on pocket. The fish thali is authentic, delicious and pretty enough for one completely hungry. Must try for non-masala, non-oily home food. Decent staff and lovely mocktails!

Had to wait for long to get a table. Ordered a couple of things and it was good. I was dying to have mussels which costed more than 400 bucks, my bad to not have checked before ordering. Other than that the bappas thali is a steal n so was the cauliflower tondak. The only thing I did not quite like was the prawn kismuri

I went to kokni canteen on Sunday . It’s a small place but with delicious food . For all the Bombay Duck (Bombil) lovers . I sincerely love the way they make it as it’s the best Bombay duck I have had in Goa . They only think abt this place is waiting is long and service is slow . Oda wise it awesome .

Went there after reading all the recommendations, but sadly had a pretty negative experience. We ordered a Chonak fish in garlic butter, goan chicken chilly, chicken cafreal and the goan pulao. The fish was great, but the chicken chilly and the cafreal had too much salt in them. It was really off putting. Upon complaining about the salt levels, the steward replied that "it's supposed to be like this". Seriously? The food is supposed to be so salty that after a few bites one can't even eat further? Pretty disappointing. The best thing I had there was the beer.

There was no pav no poi to eat with xacuti. Which Goa eats naam or punjabi roti with Xacuti. No chapati to eat with amotik. Prawns danger served without a single prawn. We realised it since there was no prawn curry itself. Waiters did not have the courtesy to accept mistakes either. Most pathetic experience

I was introduced to Kokni Kanteen by Flexcia where I had one of the best seafood thalis I’ve ever eaten. The plate was teeming with flavour and the variety of seafood gave me the opportunity to try out numerous different dishes together. My palate and my belly left this wonderful little place immensely satisfied!
