Review Viva Panjim - Panjim

This is a lovely little family run restaurant tucked away in a discreet corner of fountainhas, some call it the Latin quarters. This beautiful location has a distinct old world charm to it. The food was fantastic, the service was good and the ambience was fantastic.

It's a heritage hotel established by the mom of the current lady boss in the Fountainhas, portugese colony. The food we tried - seafood platter, Crab curry were yummy yummy. The ambience with Christmas fervour was a cherry on the cake. Would love to visit our again and again.

A nice, quiet restaurant to try out if you're in Goa looking for authentic Goan cuisine. This place brings the true taste of Goa to the table. Walk a little bit around the old part of Panjim (Fontainhas) to get there. Service was quick. Well priced for what it offers. Sadly they don't serve beef which was a big disappointment to us as we went there hoping to satisfy our cravings for a juicy steak. Had to settle for a pork apricot steak which was pretty good too.

Really tasty food. Me and my family really enjoyed it. Items ordered: Chicken lollipop, squid butter garlic fry, pork salantule, french fried, seafood sizzler, orange honey chicken steak (slightly sweet-FYI), mackerel curry rice, seradura and coconut pudding. Highly recommended: Squid butter garlic fry, Mackerel curry rice and serradura.

We had walked past this place so many times in our month long stay here. Thanks to a friend who strongly recommended it and we took the few steps inside the lane to this best of Goan cuisine experience at Viva Panjim. We surely will revisit most nights we are here more for. Sanjay special thanks to you and entire team of Viva Panjim. Ambience is good, sanjays recommended food and cocktails were just awesome ⭐️✅ We had: 🔸 Steak Au Poivre Selected Pork cut, Marinated in fresh cream and mild salad oil, grilled with pepper and garlic, served with fries, Vegetables and salad. 🔸 Goan Rumba (Feni, Rum, Orange juice, Pineapple juice) And finger chips, Pork was very well done. We also tried their home brewed Feni, with Limca, great taste and must to have whenever we here. We had 1-2 table fans towards us so we were fine. There is an air conditioned area too. It becomes very busy so please reach on time or book in advance perhaps. Strongly recommended

Viva Panjim is a family-run restaurant in a colorful, heritage home in the heart of Panjim, Goa. The restaurant offers traditional Goan cuisine, as well as a selection of seafood and steak dishes. I recently visited Viva Panjim with a group of friends, and we were all very impressed with the food and the ambience. We started our meal with the squid butter garlic fry, which was perfectly cooked and had a delicious, garlicky flavor. For our main courses, we ordered the pork roast, the pork xacuti, and the mixed seafood sizzler. The pork roast was tender and juicy, the pork xacuti was flavorful and spicy, and the mixed seafood sizzler was a generous portion of grilled prawns, fish, and squid. We also tried the Goan fish curry, which was another delicious dish. The curry was made with fresh fish, tomatoes, and spices, and it had a rich and flavorful taste. For dessert, we shared the caramel pudding, which was light and creamy. The service at Viva Panjim was excellent. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, and he made sure that we had everything we needed. The atmosphere in the restaurant is also very pleasant. The restaurant is located in a beautiful old house, and the interior is decorated with traditional Goan artifacts. Overall, we had a wonderful dining experience at Viva Panjim. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the ambience was charming. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Goa. Here are some additional details about the dishes we ordered: Squid butter garlic fry: This dish is made with fresh squid that is coated in a batter of flour, garlic, and spices, and then fried until golden brown. It is a light and flavorful dish that is perfect for sharing. Pork roast: This dish is made with pork that is roasted in the oven until it is tender and juicy. It is served with a side of Goan-style rice and vegetables. Pork xacuti: This is a traditional Goan curry that is made with pork, tomatoes, and spices. It is a flavorful and spicy dish that is sure to please. Mixed seafood sizzler: This dish is made with a variety of seafood, including prawns, fish, and squid, that are grilled and served on a sizzling platter. It is a hearty and delicious dish that is perfect for sharing. I would definitely recommend Viva Panjim to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Goan meal. The food is excellent, the service is attentive, and the ambience is charming.

Authentic experience for Goa cuisine and ambience. I am so lucky to stumble upon this amazing Goan restaurant which was right next to my room. I’ve tried Pork Vindaloo , which was the softest and fresh tasting pork I ever had. The curry was exquisite with blend of sourness, tomato purée and mild Indian spices. Tried that gravy with Goan special Poi bread. Also tried Mixed fried rice, not a dish that goes well with restaurant, but had good flavours to it. Calamari/ Squid butter garlic, was slight disappointing and I found it good chewy. Basically it was frozen and then fried. Not too much to complain since majority population might be used to that chewy texture. Ended meal with Coconut pudding/ Suffle. They nailed it with its gelatinous. Overall, enjoyed it. Will with recommending to my friends and family. Good luck to the Team at Viva Panjim.

Nestled in the heart of the Panjim City, capital of Goa, this restaurant is an absolute blast that deserves all the praise it gets. From the moment you set foot inside, you're enveloped in an atmosphere of warmth and cozyness. The decor is a blend of Portugese houses and Goan history, with dimmed lighting that sets the perfect mood for a romantic lunch, dinner or a celebratory gathering. The menu is a culinary journey that caters to diverse palates. The chefs here are true artists, creating dishes that are not only visually stunning but also bursting with flavor. I can't recommend the Dragon chicken enough; it was a really tasty dish with a tasty Schezwan sause, which was yummy and crunchy. The service is impeccable, with attentive staff who are knowledgeable about the menu and provide excellent choice for first time visitors. It's evident that the staff takes great pride in making your dining experience unforgettable. The dessert was something I wasn't able to try as I got an urgent call which required me to attend an urgent meeting, but I'm hoping to try the same on my future visit. In conclusion, this restaurant is a culinary masterpiece. It's not just a place to eat; it's an experience. Whether it's a special occasion or a desire for exquisite dining, this establishment consistently delivers excellence. It's no wonder it's a favorite among locals and visitors alike.

You get a nice Goa/Portuguese experience in the ambience here with the cute place, music and lightings. Considering food there are better options available elsewhere. Always enquire the charges before ordering seasonal foods(one plate of crab costed us 1000 INR)as it is not mentioned in the menu card. We wanted to have authentic Goan foods like Pork Vindhalo, chicken cafreal etc.. But the taste was not upto the mark expected (as we have tried in different restaurants during Goa stay). Breads were super-hard. Serradura was good. You get fast delivery of the foods.

🍽️ In Frame : 🍤 Mix Seafood Sizzler ₹.450/- 🌟5/5 🍗 Apricot Chicken Steak ₹.370/- 🌟 5/5 🍗 Chicken Cafreal ₹.280/- ⭐️ 3.8/5 🍤 Prawns Balchao ₹.290/- ⭐️ 4.5/5 🍨 Serradura ₹.120/- 🌟 5/5 🍮 Caramel Pudding ₹.110/- 🌟 5/5 🍹 Goa with Love (Feni based cocktail) ₹.280/- 🌟 5/5 🍹 Goa Rumba (Urrak based) ₹.280/- 🌟 5/5 @vivapanjim has been my all time favourite when it comes to Sizzlers and Steaks. It’s more like a ritual for me to drop down there atleast once during the monsoons. It’s a beautiful restaurant set up in an old heritage bungalow with outdoor seating, a non AC as well as an AC section by the narrow lanes of Fontainhas - Panjim. Coming to the Food this place is a Gem. Among the Sizzlers you can try out anyone from their menu and you are going to love it . My personal favourite is the Apricot Chicken Steak which has the perfect level of spice and sweetness. Though they serve Chinese , Indian as well as Continental Cuisine besides the Sizzlers and Steaks I would also recommend you guys to try out their Goan regional delights to experience the authentic flavours of goa. The Menu includes all the items from Vindaloo, Cafreal, Xacuti and even the Goan style Chilly Chicken pair it up with a warm Goan bread. And lastly, don’t forget to try out their desserts! Overall @vivapanjim is a 5/5! I can’t think of any drawbacks Personal Recommendations on : 🍗 Apricot Chicken Steak 🍗 Chicken Sizzler 🍤 Seafood Sizzler 🍨 Serradura 🍮 Caramel Pudding 🍴 Kingfish Vindaloo

A lovely place to have authentic Goan cuisine at a very reasonable price, the staff can suggest you food items depending upon people's personal choices. A must visit place if you are someone who likes to explore authentic restaurants and cafes as this place has its own delicacy which separates it from others.

I won’t ever forget the 5 km walk I had to do in a humid afternoon sun just to find this place since our navigation just won’t lead us to this restaurant somehow 😄 Tucked in a quaint by lane, this simple unassuming little restaurant might not boast of an extravagant allure but it’s earthy, intimate vibe definitely surprises you with a delectable fare that would imprint your senses long after you have left this place. I especially liked the sea food platter which though a bit expensive, as it picks the cost of the dish according to the rate of the fish and other sea food items, was delicious. The chicken nuggets however not so much as I found it dry to the palate. The drinks were fine and I could have tried another one of their dishes only if we hadn’t reached by their closing time for the noon. However this place is a must visit and if I am ever around there again, I would again come and try their other delicacies.

The place is fabulous with a combination of service and taste the menu is short with best Goan dishes ,we had seafood platter which was amazing,,quantity was enough for 3 people, and chicken & fish rava fry properly marinated and fried served in simple plates and the vibes here are totally different. Would rate the place 5 out of 5 , highly recommended place in the heart of the city for local Goan cuisine.👌👌

One of the amazing restaurant serving Goan food and good drinks, especially the Fenny cocktails.. Fish curry with Goan rice simply superb.. lovely starters, especially the squid masala that goes well with the drinks..

Viva Panjim was a shout out to what it would feel like if you dined at a family home in Goa. We enjoyed the outside parlor like seating over the A/C room. Four of us ordered Fried Kingfish Rechedo( crispy and fresh fish), Fried Mackerel Rava( so good ordered another one of it) Mains Chicken Cafreal, Kingfish Balbao, and Goan Rice and Bread with Traditional Pomfret Curry Green salad . All the dishes were made home style, nice serving portions and we thoroughly enjoyed them. The Caramel pudding topped off the delectable meal. It takes a while to get your mains so order items altogether s soon as you are seated.

Simply amazing taste sea food family restaurant. It’s located in a small street at Panjim, Goa. location was quite homely. Could see all the best review rating posted on the walls. The prawn curry and fish curry was amazing and taste. We arrived late for the dinner, the must try cosy and tasteful dinner at goa. The staff was well behaved and service was good.

COVID-SAFE PLACE TO DINE OUT. GOOD FOOD AND AMBIENCE WORTHY OF VENTURING OUT FOR.

Food tasted really nice and fresh. Generous helping. I tried the classic vindaloo chicken and a honey-glazed orange pork steak. 🤤
Both meats were well cooked, not bland on the inside. The steak was surprisingly juicy even from the inside and all the flavours were on point. 💯
Their cocktails didn't disappoint either. And they were kind enough to adjust the spice levels of the vindaloo for me :)
The hype around the caramel custard is REAL! It's a huuuge helping with exactly the right colour of caramelized simple syrup.
Roughly cost me Rs. 600 for a strong cocktail, main course, and dessert which tasted GREAT. Quite a deal, no?

SERVICE was prompt and polite. They were wearing face shields, gloves, and masks. They really did EVERYTHING possible to make sure safety precautions were in place. Food didn't take too long to come on the table. The food was served on warm plates which is always a nice touch in my books. For safety reasons, they DON'T ACCEPT CASH. So go prepared to pay by card.

AMBIENCE is charming with cute goan music playing in the background. My only issue is with the loo. It had a wet floor because of a leaking shower for some reason. So the bathroom smells really musky but is clean other than the smell and leaking shower head. Made me want to get out of the loo as soon as I entered it.
Wrap up:
With the money and effort to go eat out. It's a really sweet establishment.
I just felt bad seeing such a nice restaurant not have ANY footfall other than us the whole time we had dinner there. Quality, cute places like these, going out of business would be really sad.
So IF you EVER feel like going out to eat something nice, please do come here. They have ALL the bases covered, right from North Indian, Chinese in both very and non veg plus sea food. There's something for everyone here! Be #vocalforlocal, and get a great meal and drinks at the same time!

Restaurant is located in a small house and is often crowded, once you try the food you'll know why. Have been going here for last few years. One of my favorite places in Panjim.
From fish, chicken to even vegetarian options, nothing has ever disappointed. Definitely recommended if you're only looking for good food.
Since the place is quite small it gets a little congested. Also the service is bit slow.
Old Fashioned
I would love to come back to this place as their authentic Goan food is really good, but I really had a hard time to call server to our table. We were given a table and we almost waited 20mins for the server to come to our table and that to we had to call him. They did not even ask if we wanted something else during our meal. Everytime we had to call our sever to take our order. It was ok if the place was busy and servers were busy with other guests but here the scenario was totally different as they busy chit chatting with their colleagues. Very disappointed with the service. The 3 star goes for the food as it was very delicious.

The food is as amazing as the ambience. Located in a quaint alley in the central area of the Panjim hub, it is one of the best places to go to in Panjim. We tried the Apricot Chicken and Fish Sizzler, along with their Bebinca and Caramel Pudding and they are all TO DIE FOR. I can't wait to go back to Goa just to have their food. It's absolutely worth every rupee you pay.

Too good taste at reasonable price

It’s a small yet popular restaurant in Panjim serving the best soup I’ve had in Goa. Even though I have only had 2 dishes here (Goan Soup and Prawns Curry & Rice) both of them were exceptionally good. I would love to try their Xacuti next time. ✌🏻

Great Goan eatery offering authentic goan Food. Usually this place is bustling with tourists during meal hours. Service is fast and food is amazing. Loved their BBQ prawns in White sauce and pork sausage chilli. Been here many times and will keep coming for more. Thank you to the owner Linda!!

Best food in panjim! Try the prawn curry rice

Great food in a old three storied house , the service was impeccable and even though we got seated in the third floor waiter came often to check on us, great for sea food and Goan dishes

The small package that this magnificent place comes in only adds to the feel of this place. The service is fast and at the top level. The taste steals the thunder the moment you immerse in the ambiance. A great place for you to go if you love Goan food any food on plate for that matter.

One of my favourite places in Goa. Most of my meals end up being here. Excellent seafood. And their Bebinca is a must order. Been going here for a long time and they have been consistently great.

Had been to Viva panjim during my last trip to Goa.
This place to me back to the memories of the days in my childhood I spent in my friends house. As this is a old house that is converted into a hotel.
I really loved the warmth the ambiance feels.

We are there for lunch and the lady who runs the place was also in it. Taking care of the food plating and presentation of every plate of food that went out of her kitchen. Just like a loving mom checks the good once before if is fed to her child.

We had a kaju pheni, vegetarian salad and boiled Goan rice with fish vindaloo.

Kaju pheni was decent one.

Salad was prepared well with good amount of vinegeriate and peppers and cream in it. The vegetables used were very fresh.

Fish vindaloo a super Spicy dish made using red wine and native spices. The staff warned about the level of spices in rte dish . Still I went ahead and had it.
It tasted good . But it was spicy AF. Had the aftertasebof a bit sourness

I loved eating it.

I will definitely be here in my next trip to Goa to enjoy their ambiance again and for some more lipsmacking dishes

Been here a long time ago. Tiny, very homely feel. The food is awesomely goan. Not a particular dish to stand out as almost all the items are tasty.

This place is a joke they don't accept cards coz of network issue just a old heritage house with completely tasteless food and people have given this place 4 starts shocking
Food : 0/5
Ambiance : 1/5

If it’s your first time in Panjim, then there’s no better place than Viva Panjim for authentic Goan cuisine. I had the Pigling Torradinho - which was deliciously meaty. The Prawn curry cooked in a delightfully spicy coconut gravy (although it was rather lacking in the quantity of prawns). And the highlight of my meal was the Bebinca - a Goan dessert that needs no introduction and should not be missed!

One of the must-visit eateries if you are in the Fontainhas area of Panjim, this family-owned restaurant is great for authentic Goan food. We tried, and loved, the Poi, Prawn Caldinhas, Goan rice, Chicken Cafreal...would love to go back next time for some more!

We happened to visit this place on a Monday afternoon. It's a tiny place near Fontainas area in Panjim. Old traditional decor. Nothing fancy though. We tried their Tamsoe Rava Fry(Rs 300) and Chonak (Rs 300) and Modso Rechado Masala (Rs 280). Very very authentic Rechado Masala and the most tasty one.
Must visit place and value for money. There is an old aunty who runs this place and is always there to welcome with a smile.

I found this place when i wanted to eat local goan food and this was a place suggested by quite few locals in panjim. This place is made in a house and has cute decor.

I tried the following dishes

1. Masala fried bangda - This was fried fish filled with local goa masalas and was delicious. It was crisp on the outside and well cooked.

2. Prawns Cladinha - This was a prawns dish made in a goan style but it was semi-dry which we ate with chappati to make it a meal. It was delicious. They prawns were fresh and the masala was super tasty

3. Mushroom Xacuti - If you have ever been to goa you must have definitely heard of the xacuti masala. This is a gravy that is made only in goa. This was also yum!

Our total bill was 700/- for 3 people with cold drinks.

If you are in Panjim and want to eat local food this is definitely the place to try!

Follow me on instagram for regular food and travel updates - @sadhnaadvani1604

A small, quaint, little house in Goa (about a 150 years old) which has been converted into a restaurant.
When we arrived, we had to wait for a table (our fault completely, we didn't book a table). I definitely would suggest anyone to make a booking before they come here.

Once we did get our table, the service was quick and our server was very friendly and informative. The food came really quick and was very homely.

However, I would recommend this place to have a better system for handling the overflow of guests.

Ambience: 2/5
Food: 3/5

Overall: 3.5/5

Hey guys
Have been to this place twice with my frnz group. Great place with a positive vibe ambience. This place serves chinese goan and indian food with goan variety mostly prefered by guests.
The location is a little difficult to locate but its right in heart of some beautiful architechtural environment i Panjim. Must try their chicken cafreal.
Only thing was missing some more variety to the menu (may be some italian/more continental dishes) Rest everything good👍

Lovely place. Super good food. Very good staff. Loved the orange honey glazed steak and the sourpotel!!!! Would love to go again. Keep it up !!

Have been to this place twice. And though the place is nice, the staff is courteous but the food lacks a punch. Saw all the accolades it has recieved but somehow it didn't meet my standard. Have been eating goan cuisine all throughout my trip so I can clearly say this, you can get better food somwhere else with their price tag.

But with the setting of annold Portuguese house and that too smack in the mid of the whole old architectural vibe, it surely deserves a visit.

I still remember the first time we went looking for this place walking through the Fontainahs. Heading into one particular alley you see their board lit up at the side of the road and you know you've made it.
There's something to this place that just makes you want to keep coming back. I don't know if it's the charming and all smiles waiters, the homely vibe the place radiates or the neighborhood it's in but Viva has turned into a place I now frequent every single time I visit Panjim.
Who doesn’t like some authentic Goan- Portuguese food in a rustic Portuguese setup?
Located in Mala, this cute tiny restaurant specialises in Goan and Portuguese dishes. Decent seating arrangement with decent lighting and ambiance, this place demands prior reservation. Restaurant may seem very old but don’t let it fool you as half of it’s stuff is authentic to the period when it was built. Talking about the food, they not only serve Goan and Portuguese but also serve Chinese, Indian and also some Steak. To start off we ordered the prawn stuffed papad(2). As the name suggests, crispy papad stuffed with prawn balchao. Really tasty and worth a try. We also ordered the squid batter fry(4). Like most restaurants, this too came with mayo and the squids were well cooked and crispy. For the main course it was Chicken Xacuti(3) and Chicken Cafreal(5) along with butter garlic bread. To be very honest both of these dishes were very different from the usual. They were definitely delectable. The Xacuti gravy was thick yummy gravy. We accompanied this with chicken chilly fry Goan style(6). This too was very nice. Among other things, the service was very very prompt.

This place has very good and tasty food, my favorite was the prawn Curry with rice!
The ambience of the place is very homely and I would definitely recommend visiting this place.

Been there once and have been coming for more. Value for your money and the best Goan vibe. Must try are the steak and cocktails. The titanic is the best and also the orange honey steak.

Situated inside a quiet lane this place was the highlight of our food journey. Starting with the decor and furniture which is reminiscent of old times the place has a very warm feeling. They offer authentic Goan flavours and cuisine.
We had the prawns chilly fry for starter and it was yum and followed it with Chicken Vindaloo and King fish with garlic pao and Goan breads. The chicken Vindaloo was very flavoursome and was wiped clean. It went really well with the Goan bread. For dessert in Goa it had to be Bibenca.
Over all a fantastic food experience and we’ll visit for sure when we are in Goa next.
Was bit disappointed, it doesnt stand to the hype or rating it has.

We had order red snapper rawa fry , chicken leg chop ( Portuguese cuisine) and Mixed sea food sizzler.. only comendable was red snapper rawa fry. The mixed sea food was too sweet and was more of dessert than a main course.

The restaurant didnt even have card payment option. It created lot of inconvenience to the guest.

A small restaurant more of a heritagural home situated in the middle of Fountinhas known for its seafood .Would definately suggest you to dine at the top floor . Found this place a bit congusted.Amazing decor.Would definately suggest to go for the chicken crispy and the chicken sizzler. Prawns bbq would be one of the seafood dishes to be tried here. moreover this place is apt for amazing photo clicks esp outside the place .

Ambience: 4/5

Food: 4.5/5 (0.5 more for the seafood)

Price: 5/5 (absolutely good compared to all the restaurant situated at north goa with such an ambience)

Overall: 4/5

Tucked in the bylanes, Viva Panjim is a gem for authentic , delicious and pocket friendly food!!!I tried rava masala fry red snapper..it was lip smacking ! And caramel pudding was very tasty . Quantity and portion size is very good.

If you don't visit Viva Panjim you are missing out on authentic Goan cuisine!

Ah Viva Panjim has stolen my heart with it's quaint restaurant and lovely fresh food! We came here on a Saturday for lunch (during Holi weekend in 2017) and had to wait about 20 min (there are always huge lines during the weekend) for a table for 6 of us. Not bad deal, we got to roam around the Fontainhas area and the lovely Marcom Articrafts shop that's right next to Viva Panjim.

Service was good and relatively fast. Food was spectacular with great quality pork and fresh fish. Between the 6 of us we ordered:

- mushroom xacuti and okra onion for our veg friend

- pomfret rava fry and pomfret rechado as fish dishes - both excellent but rechado topped it

- prawn caldeen with boiled goan rice - amazing and very light creamy sauce

- pork vindaloo spicy dish with lovely pork bites

- pork sausage pulao that was fantastic

Fresh. Great Quality Goan food. Will be back again for sure. Highly recommended!
This is a cute restaurant in Panjim and has had food awards for more than 5 years ! The service at this place was good and was fast. Also the staff was very helpful and was not too overpriced.

This is a must visit place in Goa for good goan food.

The dishes we tried here were :

• Vegetable Biryani : This was tasty and was made to perfection with the rice not over or under cooked but just perfect and the biryani vegetables and masala was also really nice and is a must try .

• Chicken chilly fry ( boneless Goan style) : This chicken had the right texture and the flavours it had were mouth watering. Not too spicy and not with too many vegetables. This is a must try if you are a non vegetarian.

• Vegetable vindaloo : This was something really different in flavour and was like a pickle sauce that is tangy with alot of goa flavours. If you are a vegetarian then this is a must try dish at this place to get the taste of goan flavours!

• Poi : This is a special goan bread and was just like a small loaf of white bread.

• Bebinca : This is a special goa desert which is a multi layered cake that is quite heavy and had coconut flavour along with a number of other flavours.

This place has a cute sitting arrangement and also does not have the smell of sea food like the rest of the restaurants so it is comfortable if you are traveling with a vegetarian friend.

Nice cozy house turned restaurant. Good food only I wish they put mostly heads in the prawn curry. Taste was good and service was quick
. Couldn't find the place that easily as it's in the bylanes

When in Goa, don't miss this place. The resto is setup in a small Portuguese bungalow. The food is awesome specially the Goan cuisines. Every curry is to die for. Don't forget to book a table else you have to wait specially on weekends.

The restaurant is in a Portugal premises. The food is good. But what won our hearts is the prawns filled papad. It was out of the world. Best thing we had at that restaurant. Highly recommend!!

The ambience is as excepted. Old Portuguese set up. The food is amazing. The French fries are home made with a dash of Indian masala balanced every well. The Goan masala prawns we're well cooked. Also ordered the calamari batter fry, liked it would love it if it would be more crispy. Aaah and the famous Goan sausage rice, liked it. But not on top of my list. Would suggest to go early as the outside seating get occupied soon. And it's the best place to sit. Cheers enjoy

Located in the alleys of mala, Viva panjim is a little difficult to locate. Parking is difficult in the vicinity. Have been to this place a couple of time. It is one of the very few places in goa which actually serves authentic goan food. Portion sizes are quite good for the price.

Must try:
1 Chicken sizzler
2 Prawn curry rice
3 Prawn stuffed papad
4 Chicken cafreal
5 Chicken xacuti

Place has limited seating and is usually full during peak hours. Prior booking may be required. Service is a little slow. Overall a great experience

This little Portuguese house that has been converted into a restaurant is just a perfect lil place for authentic goan delicacies. The service may not be that great, and the place may seem a lil too cramped up but the food at reasonable rates more than makes up for all these other shortcomings.

Do try their chicken cafreal ( highly recommended) with butter garlic Goan pao, any preparation in recheado masala ( we had squids n prawns recheado), and chicken herbed drumsticks are something to die for ( must MUST order). We ordered caramel pudding as well but didn't like it much. Even mocktails could have been avoided.

I would recommend booking a table in advance since it's a small place which is almost always fully booked. And of course go there empty stomach cuz there's just so much to eat.
Been here way too many times. Every time I crave pork vindaloo this is where I end up. Authentic Goan food.
Calamari is a must try as well. Good service and friendly staff.
It’s a bit of a hidden gem I would say.

In season this place is always full and u have to stay in que . Decorated with numerous awards this place has got its a small place.A old Goan house basically. This place is good for Goan food the food is fantastic. The ambience is not that great ,not enough of space between the tables .But all that u can put a side if the food is good. The owner is very polite and the old lady can be often seen interacting with guests .

A heritage home turned into a restaurant, the place itself gives a old world cherm.
Altough finding the location was itself a challenge but the place was quite busy during the lunch hours.
For starter we opt for barbecued prawns : fall in love with the sauce; Prawns are perfectly cooked in the spice tangy sauce.
We had sea food sizzler. A must try dish here. It contains prawns calamari and basa serves with butter rice and lot of veggies. Every item was super fresh.
Then we had chicken cafreal, a very basic item of goan cuisine with breads; its subtle taste was really heartwarming.
Lastly we had warm comforting bebinca, a local dessert. Pure 😘
We had all these with two sweet lime sodas under a pocket pinch of < ₹1000.
Uparnabh Ghoshal

We ordered ambotik which is slightly like vindaloo. King fish rawa fry which was amazing and Bebinca is apt. This is old Portuguese mansion converted to a restaurant.

Delicious food. It's an awesome place to have some goan dishes. Bit crowded and you might have to wait for some time but it's all worth. Delicious food at reasonable price. Waiting to visit this place again

A 150year old home renovated into a restaurant which is quite popular among the masses in Panjim. Being referred by an acquaintance, I decided to visit this place with my friends during my Goa visit.
▫️▫️▫️▫️
Old rusty decor, the place gives you feeling of a traditional Christian home, with the long windows and designed arcs. Being the winner of Times food awards multiple times, no doubt, the restaurant was filled.
▫️▫️▫️▫️
We started off with a Veg manchow soup which was delicious and perfect for the cold weather outside. Then, as suggested by our server, we tried the butter garlic bread along with Goan veg vindaloo and prawns masala.
🔸The butter garlic bread was the pavs stuffed with fried garlic and soaked in butter. It was decent but not great, I would say. It didn't really go well with the gravies we ordered.
🔸The veg vindaloo was again superb but somehow didn't meet my expectation, considering the popularity of the place.
🔸Prawns masala was remarkable and deserves a special mention. I regret ordering chapati which would have been a perfect combination with this gravy.
▫️▫️▫️▫️
From the drinks, we tried, Gimlet, Hurricane and Orange Blossom.
🔸Gimlet is the Gin based cocktail with a hint of lime juice. Quite strong and a decent choice for gin lovers.
🔸Hurricane, a blend of white and dark rum. Again a strong drink and decently spiked.
🔸Orange Blossom, on the other hand, is a moderately spiked cocktail with gin, lime juice and orange juice as the primary components.
▫️▫️▫️▫️
We also tried their very famous caramel pudding but frankly, I wasn't that impressed. I have had better caramel pudding in Bangalore if I come to compare.
▫️▫️▫️▫️
Overall, it was a fine experience and I can definitely go back just for the prawns masala.
A lovely, quaint and small place in the old panjim area. It is quite popular among tourists and deservingly so as they serve a variety of cuisines including Goan and Portuguese at very very reasonable prices. We tried the chicken xacuti which was delicious. The staff is very professional as well. Must visit this place when in panjim.

Been here many times with wonderful memories created and attached each time. From wedding time, to pregnancy to toddler visit with friends and family. Love their pork roast. Whole family approved! Also yummy prawn curry rice with good customer service from owner and her staff. Vile Parlaites will always know this :)

This is a joint we searched out when we were in Panjim. Not being familiar with the landscape, this took a bit of time to locate. Its actually tucked away in an alley (use G maps). The waiting time is around 25 minutes. Do keep following up with the waiters. Recommend that you request the friendly lady at the counter for the menu, so that you can order your food while you are waiting. Try the pork vindaloo curry and and the prawn and rice curry. They have loads of other goodies on their menu. If you are in tourist mode, then I guess you cannot be too fussy about other stuff like ambience and all. Do try this place. You won't regret it...

Viva panjim is a nice place to hang out with friends and family, set up in a lovely Old Goan house in Fontainhas Panjim. The food was delicious and tasty. A must visit for every person wanting to experience goa.

A tiny packed restaurant with flavours that tingle your taste buds. Their fish lollipops were so yummy! The prawn balchao and chicken xacuti were good. Their bebinca, however, is some of the best I have ever had!
Goalo
No matter how many times we visit, the food is always an excellent example of Goan traditional cooking especially love Prawn cocktail & Prawn curry rice- the best in all Goa.

I read about this place in a blog. Visited on two consecutive days and literally fell in love with the food and ambience. We liked this place so much that we travelled all the way from calanghute for lunch. They serve authentic Goan food. You must try their bebinca and caramel pudding.
I will visit this place every time I travel to Goa in future.

Chill vibe with a typical Goan bar feel!
Tried the squid fry both in rechaedo and the butter garlic sauce which was yum!
The chicken cafreal is an amazing dish too, paired with Unne( Goan pav or poi).
End it with delicious caramel custard and local Goan speciality of Bibingka.
Puja Partani
It’s a quaint bungalow turned into a heritage restaurant in the French quarter of Panjim. Will perhaps give you a feeling of time-travel with the well preserved architecture and interiors.
Being a vegetarian, I absolutely loved their fish, which says enough about the quality of their food.
Not many options for vegetarians, at the same time, as close to heaven as it gets for seafood lovers.

This place is a hidden gem! Located in one of the narrow lanes of fontainhas, actually a narrower alley, it's quite difficult to find.
The location is an old Goan house so it's a lil cramped up and usually full so be ready to wait a while to get a table. The walls are adorned with the recognitions by trip advisor and stuff, which this place totally deserves. The owner is a sweet lady who is always sitting at a table chatting with someone and smiling at the customers. Her kindness is reflected in how she treats her staff.
To top all this, the food is just a delight! My favourites are chicken crispy, garlic bread, Schezwan fried rice, fish fingers, chicken lollipop and the best is their biryani which is quite different but so moist and tasty. Also, don't forget to ask for their Schezwan sauce even if any of your starters don't come with it already.

Absolutely love this place! If it’s your first time in Goa, you need to go here! Take a dip into the Goan-Portuguese culture with their recheado, calamari rava fry, prawns curry. Every single dish I tried here with Poulomi Biswas was delectable!

We went here after reading the reviews on Zomato. The place was jam packed around dinner time on a weekday. The place is situated in the pretty Fontainhas and has laid-back vibes. We ordered Fish lollipops. They were okay. The prawn curry along with rice was really good. The texture of curry was great. In dessert, we ordered Caramel pudding. It was the only think available that day. But guess we are chocolate fans. Would recommend this place and will definitely visit next time to try more dishes from the menu.

I was like on a hunt for some good Authentic Goan food . Here we were a quaint place in one of the bylanes of Panjim in a house turned into Restaurant. This is the place to visit with a must haves like chicken vindaloo , pork sarputal, with the yummies Goan hot bread that I have ever had just melts in your mouth . The food served to perfection from
The owners kitchen as she always around to make you comfortable . Lady whom I admired .. thank you Mam. For those who have a sweet tooth like me must try wedding pudding .. yummiest .

Ambience: ☆☆☆☆☆
Food: ☆☆☆☆☆
Price: ☆☆☆☆☆

Had the best prawns vindaloo and goan chicken curry. The food tasted like heaven and I just couldn't get over the look and feel of the restaurant as well. This place seems to really popular cause while dining I've seen more than 4 groups wait across for the customers to finish off their meal. The owner is also a very decent and respectable lady and has a very intriguing journey. Don't forget to get into a conversation with her.

Ambience is very pretty and definitely has the best goan vibe to it. The pricing is very very reasonable and we were astonished that we are able to have a good stomach filling meal at a very less price. Quality and quantity can't even be questioned.

One of the finest restaurants in Panjim, Goa. Their food is totally out of the world. We tried chicken calamari. It was amazing. Ambience is good. It usually gets crowded soon at peak hours. Also their service is quick. One must definitely pay a visit to this place.

My 3rd visit to this place. I simply love the food here and don't mind the crammed sitting. I enjoy strolling around Fontainhas area and eat here. This time ordered prawn chilly fry, Chonak in a red gravy (forgotten the exact name but remember the taste) and pork cabidel. Each dish had distinct taste and bursting with flavour. It just makes you feel the goodness of Goan food at a different level. Freshness of the seafood was evident in every dish. All of this at very affordable prices. Would always come back here for more

After getting recommend by my sister couple of time I finally made it to this superb place. Locating this restaurant is another adventure as it is to tour it's bundle of flavours. I have tested the best goan prawn curry & butter garlic sqeeds at Viva Panjim. Flovurs are simple yet original to linger on tounge for quite sometime. For me every time I go to Goa, this restaurant is must visit. It's recommended to book a table before you go if you are a big group.

A great place for value and taste. The owner make your outing insures a great hospitality service. Loved the taste of food. Would surely ask to visit this if you are around.

Nice and homely place. Went for lunch here. The prawn curry and rice was the best i have had. It was remarkably good. The pork vindaloo was average, but i feel they didn't use fresh meat. The chicken xacuti was good as well. Reasonably priced. Friendly staff.

If I could, I would give this place 10 stars. Mrs. D'Souza is a gem of a person. It was a great experience talking to her and being at her place, eating food from her kitchen. A goa trip is incomplete without this place.Much Love from Punjab.

Amazing, Yummy, Lip smacking , tongue tickling, SeaFood Treat.
The fish curry VS prawn curry has no winner.
Both take the best curry award.
Nothing beats the bebinca.
Prawn Papad for the papas fans.
Many more ... U got to be there... to experience.

Great food. Ambience is average. Service is terrible. The owner doesn't take card payments. Been there multiple times, but every time they insist that the card machine isn't working. Probably trying to get away with paying taxes. I'd love to recommend the place, but the service is so bad that I'm not going back here again.

I've been there 4 times before writing this review. There are several dishes and minor things about this place that aren't great. The worst of it was today. When I asked for a simple fried fish-curry-rice, turned out it needs to be ordered separately which is not ideal for a "goan" restaurant IN GOA but that was fine. However, the only curry options were main course curries. Considering this was a meal for one, and I didn't want to waste the excess main course curry just for a little moisture on my meal, I requested for a little gravy on the side which they couldn't cater to. Determined not to create more wastage, I had to cancel my drink order on a perfectly good afternoon off and walk 10 mins to another seafood restaurant in the vicinity.

Food was good without blowing us away. The non-ac section is predictably on the warm side. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Very reasonably priced

Excellent food, excellent ambience, value for money, don't miss if u r in panjim. We ordered Bindi fry which was excellent, even goan cuisine was excellent, especially veg caldin was amazing

We selected Viva Panjim as one of the outlets enroute Kolhapur. Turned out to be quite a surprise. They served us absolutely amazing prawn curry, with the tastiest prawns ever. The chicken liver fry was mildly spiced and made beautifully soft. It turned out to be one of the best Goan meals ever.

A different experience of home ambience in the restaurant. Very tasty food be it Prawns, Fish, or Meats well prepared & served under the personal supervision of Linda. A must visit for Goan home type food.

We visited this on a weekday afternoon. It's situated in the heart of panjim city. We orders chicken cafreal and bread for main course and bebinca for dessert. The food was tasty. Very pocket friendly. I would definitely visit it again to taste the different varieties of fish which it is famous for.

One of the tried and tested Goan food joints located in the dense areas of the city, it will take you some time to find this place. Its a home converted to a restaurant serving near homemade Goan food, you want the traditional taste, this is the place to drop by.

As you enter you will appreciate the retro architecture the place has to offer, some might find it cramped as there is a little less space to move around altogether but its pretty cozy in my opinion, but the service is a little laid back overall, its good for chilling out after a great day of work.

Everything on the menu has a true traditional touch which you won't find easily elsewhere, Fish Lollipops are a must try, you'd definitely like them, Chicken items are also typically Goan to taste and they won't disappoint you, their main course is also peculiar, you won't have your regular Tandoori Roti's here, here its all about the true Goan bread which is freshly baked every evening which also dates back to an old Goan Culture, just fabulous! Chicken Xacuti and Chicken Vindaloo both are a must try, as they are perfectly spiced, with sugar and everything nice, to perfection in their respective tastes!

A really unique experience with this restaurant and the food to say the least, great value for money in terms of both quantity and quality!

Amazing food at cheap prices (as compared to Pune/ Mumbai restaurants). A must visit restaurant when you're in Goa! It's a cute place but with limited seating because it seems like a house has been converted to a restaurant.
