Review Goenchin - Panjim

Shivani Nadkarni
Goechin, located in the heart of the City of Panaji, very near to the Mahalaxmi temple is the most favourite and go to place of Panjekars for Chinese. The kimchi which is served on arrival is my favorite part of the meal. My all time favorites here are the crab meat soup, malaysian chicken, chicken in spinach, chicken spring rolls and chicken fried rice. The place has less availability of parking. The dim lights of this restraunt has been a trademark of the place since decade. I would recommend you to try this place as they have maintained their quality over generations.

Weve been going here for decades now. Always reliable food and great service. My favourites are their American chopsuey, the clay pot fried rice, sticky pork ribs and of course their Darsaan. The fried wantons and the soups are a hit with the kids. This is where you go if you are feeling nostalgic for the great food from the good old days!

Excellent taste. Very authentic. But cramped up seating arrangements. Definitely needs an upgrade. But I would definitely recommend it for the food. Prices are good except for the drinks (a little high).

Visited after a long time. Very well maintained restaurant. Food quantity and quality too good 👌 Chicken Springroll stuffing was Superb. Chicken Wonton's very Tasty & Crispy. Mix Rice Noodles made to perfection. Brownie with ice cream was Yummy. Fried sweetened flat Noodles with ice cream was out of this world.

Went here for dinner on 24/02/2023. Had the crab meat soup which was the best (the crab flavour was really coming through). For starters we had Balachung prawns (prawns in on oriental style gravy which includes dried prawns as well) was salty but quite tasty. The Chicken pepper salt was also good, (coated fried pan tossed chicken in a peppery onion sauce). The Squid in Basil sauce was the pick of the staters (the squids were cut quite uniquely which helped it to imbibe the delicious sauce, even the veggies in the dish tasted awesome) For the main course we had the Crab meat fried rice which was delicious but spicy (and a bit dry, you will need some gravy dish to go along with) And we had the Seafood special hot noodles which were awesome, infused with the flavour of prawns and fish, also had veggies, cherry tomatoes, and oyster mushrooms (which gave a delicious crunchy texture to the meal). The menu mentions which dishes are spicy, but can be made less spicy as per choice. A bowl of Kimchee is given complimentary. The staff are courteous and quick, service timely. Goenchin, in my opinion, is the best place for Oriental/Chinese cuisine in Panjim. It has stood the test of time and the competition which new restaurants may offer (but usually do not). As evident by the rush which is always there at dinner time. Preferable to call and reserve a table first. Bon Appétit!!

Food is not something great , it's just above average. Their chicken quality is very good though ( a rare thing to find in Goa ) The servings are big We went for dinner and at this time there is ample car parking. Might visit and try some other dishes as a few of my friends praise this place a lot.

First I apologise for the bad photos. We got a really tiny table and the waiter was serving food as it arrived, so couldn’t take the proper pictures of dishes. However, we ordered dragon chicken and stir fried calamari with basil leaves for appetisers. The dragon chicken was juicy and the fried cashews was the star. The calamari was chewy but the preparation was classy. The small chillies in the calamari are to be looked out for. For mains we ordered chicken fried rice and chilli Beijing chicken gravy. The quantity was a lot and I can guarantee that you’ll not leave the place hungry. The prices are worth for the quantity that is being served.

Can’t believe that I lived in Goa for 2 years without knowing this place existed. Come to find out this place has been around for year and years. A friend of mine took me here and he said him and his wife had been coming to Goenchin for 25yrs and the food has always been amazing. Food was excellent with memorable flavors. Service was excellent. I cant wait to go again.

Great place! Excellent food! I like the way they have maintained social distancing precautions in an indoor setting. The summer festival has exciting new variety to try from, in case you’re looking for something new. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone interested in Asian cuisine, for both, vegetarians and non vegetarians.

For all those Indian Chinese food lovers, they serve the kind of Chinese food every Indian is used to. Tucked away in an alley right opposite Kokni Canteen, Goanchin might be hard to spot, it’s better to park car on the Kokni Canteen road and walk up to this restaurant, they don’t disappoint neither they do overwhelm you, everything we tried over there was comfortable. Even though the place was almost full we got tables fast and they served reasonably fast, everything seems to work in there like clockwork, all the staff seem to follow a rhythm and everyone gets served seamlessly. Thanks for a comfortable dinner.

Amazing crab meat soup and chicken with crispy spinach. Must try. The soup had fresh crab meat with spicy flavors. The chicken with crispy spinach has a perfect blend of chicken and spinach.

Planning for a Chinese restaurant in Panji, Goenchin is the place to go. This place is located opposite to Konkani Canteen. Server Chinese food, with alcohol. Ambiance is average, wait time is more, if you don’t book a table. Dine in, take away and delivery available. Prices are reasonable between 200-300 per dish. Good place for Chinese cuisines.

Friendly service. Top class Garlic noodles and Chop Suey. Authentic Calcutta Chinese taste.

Great food! Fresh seafood available here, we also loved the Thai chicken curry. Absolute delicacy, pricing wise it’s little on the higher side but it’s worth.

The restaurant is one of the best Chinese restaurant in Panaji, the place attracts very good ambience and atmosphere is very cosy. The fried rice was really good, the restaurants is in one of the busier place in Panaji, hence it quite accessible, must visit once your in Goa.

Goenchin

Very few restaurants exist today (in Goa) that are true to hygiene quality standards, and value for money. Ordered only a Burnt Garlic Fried Rice.. since it's really not such a big ticket order, certainly did not expect it to be delivered so truly well along with KimChi, Chilly Sauce, Soy Sauce, Chilly Vinegar & in most of all, in a cloth bag.

đŸ‘đŸŒ Team Goenchin. Truly appreciate the quality & precision.

And in case you're wondering, it tastes kick ass!
Simran Manchanda
Best quality food ull get here.. But suggested to book ur table before hand because it's always jam packed up..

Goenchin is one of the best places to have Chinese food in Panaji and infact entire Goa. Fried rice, noodles to fish and chicken, everything tastes wonderful. The staff is very helpful and courteous. Love going here always and it feels like home.

Lovely place in Panjim for indo- Chinese cuisine. Nice ambience. Elaborate menu. Wonderful service. Tasty delicious yummy food. Satisfied. Keep it up.

Nice ambiance and even better food. I guess the best Non goan restaurant in the city. Quite popular among families too. We were not much hungry so only tried their dragon & phoenix soup and bangkok fish. Superb taste and good quantity. Their goenchin special cocktail is a must try. The concoction of goan feni & pineapple was so good. Pricing is a bit steep but totally worth it. If you like chinese, do pay a visit

Goenchin!

As the name says it all, Goen(Goa) & Chin(China) is a very famous oriental restaurant located in Panjim. One of the very firsts to serve authentic cuisines in Goa and have lived up to the standards even now. They started way back in 1982. They serve authentic Szechwan, Hunan, Cantonese and Beijing cuisines. They have a wide choice of menu to pick from and on our last visit to Goa, I was surprised when my husband said he has never been to Goanchin. Fir kya? We headed straight there and enjoyed the amazing food they have been serving always! A huge plus on the taste as well as quality.

For starters we had the dragon chicken which we loved. It had some nuts which added beautifully to the texture of the dish. We also had the fried stuffed prawns that were wrapped in flat noodles. The sweet and hot sauce that accompanied the prawns stole the show. For the veg we had the spring rolls that were really good and perfect on flavour. For the mains we did the burnt garlic fried rice and chicken in hunan sauce and the veg was the pan fried noodles. So flavourful and so good!

When you leave they present every woman with a rose. I have been seeing this for years now and nothing has changed. Their interiors gives u a vibe of being in some oriental restaurant. So if you have not yet visited the place, please do so!
Kaushya Shirsat
One of my favorite Chinese food places in Goa! Love their Thai barbeque chicken.. must try..lovely ambience ..fine dining experience.. little on the expensive side..but worth the quality of food
Pearl Murnal
By far the best Chinese restaurant in Goa. Visiting since childhood & has beautiful memories. When we can’t decide where to go, Goenchin never ever lets u down. Everyone who I’ve recommended it to, has loved it.
Sonal D'silva
Goenchin is one on the oldest Chinese Restaurants in Panjim City. The food is very flavorful with excellent quantities for the price. The prawn laksa soup is the best laksa I've had. The service as well is top notch. This is one place you must visit if your mood says Chinese food!
As'ad Shah
If your looking out for an authentic Chinese food then this is a place that you must visit. A simple, cordial and hospitable staff, Goenchin offers some of the best chinese food and lip smacking starters. Their Fried Vegetables and Clay Pot Rice is a definite reply to your tastebuds.
Goenchefood
Tried this restaurant becoz kokni canteen was full And must say it was a nice experience .
The food was little but heavy on the pockets but quantity and quality of the food was very good. Since its Chinese themed we will not find authentic goan cuisines .

Ambience was very good and staff was very friendly.
Amogh Naik Gaunekar
The food at Goenchin was absolutely superb; not only did it arrive fast, it had a very nice blend of spices, which I find is an essential in oriental dishes.

For starters, We had fried wontons with a prawn filling, which with the soy sauce, tasted delicious. We also had lotus stems, which doesn't sound that great, but when you try them, you will love them.

For main course, We had prawn hakka noodles along with two other dishes: some Mongolian style chicken and another vegetarian tofu dish.

For drinks, I would recommend the 'Goenchin Delight', a mix of lemon juice, watermelon juice and grapefruit, which is very refreshing after a spicy dish. Another recommendation is the Fruit Punch, which is a mix of lime juice and pineapple juice, which does help to neutralise any spicy taste in your mouth.

Sadly, I can not recommend any desserts as I went to another dessert parlour, Naturals, which is not too far from Goenchin.

One thing I may point out is that although the staff were very friendly, the time it took for the dishes to arrive may be my only concern.

I really do recommend Goenchin for anyone who is looking for a taste from the oriental kitchen!

#Chinese

Good Indian-Chinese food, nostalgic interiors, very sweet, attentive staff. Ask for the crispy spinach and chicken as a starter, it's pretty great but not on the menu. However, there's a strong aftertaste of ajinomoto in the rice and noodles and while I'm not particularly health conscious, the taste is a bit off-putting once you realize it's there. And we like the oak barrel better for Asian food, so don't really go here anymore.
JOSEPH MACHADO
Insipid food, highly priced, falling standards, staff only engrossed in chatting, no supervision regarding service levels, beware of the chef specials....visit not at all recommended....and in case you happen to go there pls ensure you double check your bills for excess charges!!

It's a shame I've never been to this place before. It's right opposite kokni kanteen. Food is perfect blend of Goan and Chinese. For mocktails I tried Goenchin Delight. do give it a try. It's way tastier and refreshing than old favorites like virgin mojito and fruit punch.
For main course, I tried chicken garlic fried rice and prawn fried rice.
Chicken Garlic Fried rice is something I ate for the first time. It was quite good so was the prawn fried rice. For gravy, I ordered Mongolian fish and sweet and sour chicken. Mongolian fish was amazing. Give this a try. Sweet and Sour chicken was quite good too.

Ambience- 4/5
Staff- 4/5
Goan Chinese food. Amazing food especially sticky Pork ribs was scrumptious. Also Prawns in Oyster sauce
Definitely should visit
Nice food and Ambience

We tried their few items for dinner. Dragon & Phoenix soup was very nice. Then we ordered chicken dimsums & chili chicken for appetizers which were up to the mark. Burnt garlic fried rice, chili oyster noodles n schezwan chicken for main course. Burnt garlic fried rice had lot of crispy garlic but rice lacked flavor of burnt garlic in it. Oyester noodles were service was very good. They even gifted each lady in our group with rose when we were leaving which was a good gesture.

Superb food, Quiet setting and amazing staff. Loved the fried wantons, and corn mushrooms chilly appetiser.
Burnt garlic rice is recommended.

Goenchin is one of the oldest and popular Chinese restaurant in Goa.

Ambiance: Located at Altinho, Panaji. The place has a simple yet elegant decor with limited seatings. The ambiance is very warm and cozy. Do reserve your table as it's crowdy at peak hours.

Food:
They have plenty of options on their menu to choose from.
For starters we ordered
- Spicy mala chicken: This dish was on their curated V-day special menu and was a star dish for us. They should definitely add it to their regular menu. It was spicy with very unique flavours enough to satisfy my Chinese craving tastebuds.
- Dragon chicken: Loved this too. It had lot of cashew nuts in it! Recommended to try it.
- Malaysian chicken: Comes with fried noodles. It was good.
For main course we ordered burnt garlic prawns fried rice which came with schezwan sauce and another sauce that was sweet. Fried rice was okayish as the burnt garlic was bit chewy.
For dessert we ordered fried ice cream. It was a tender coconut ice-cream coated with grated coconut crumbs and topped with cashew nuts. I found it okayish as I don't like too much of coconut.

Service: Good, quick service. Friendly staff.

Cost: It's bit on the expensive side as most of their dishes lie in the range of 300 to 500 bucks.

Goenchin has a tradition of giving a rose to all the ladies that visit it. That's a sweet thing :)
Would recommend this place specially for Chinese food lovers!!

Beautiful Ambience. Great variety of authentic Chinese cuisine. For starters, try their crispy vegetables and stir fried vegetables for Vegans. And for the meat lovers try their Chicken and Prawns Rice which is perfectly cooked with right blend of spices.
Service and Staff is best in place. Have a good time. Cheers

Goechin is a hidden jewel
I have been going here since my childhood and nothing has changed here.Although there are many additions to the menu
On weekends you definitely require reservations. The kimchi salad they serve on the table is very tasty😋 .
Wantons, dimsum were cooked to perfection.
Desserts
Honey darsaan and caramel pudding were yummiest of all.
Food here is always tasty.
The only thing i dont like about goechin is their seating arrangement. Its very cozy.
My hunt for the best chinese food ends here. This place is worth every penny spent there. The food is simply amazing. Malaysian chicken, honey glazed chicken lollypop and babaming pot rice is a must try, infact you can just blindly pick any dish from the menu and you won't be disappointed at all. The ambience is a bit dim and that of a typical fine dine family restuarant. This place remains my favorite for over 20yrs now! ♄

We went here for lunch on a Monday morning with family. Place was almost full. Ambience of the place is cozy and soothing. They have high chairs for kids and they have some plastic crockerys for kis to have food. We ordered burnt garlic noodles, veg fried rice, garlic pepper prawns and two drinks. Food was really good and tasty. Prices was really on the higher side.
Taste - 4/5
Quantity - 4/5
Quality - 4/5
Ambience - 4/5
Price - 3/5
Service - 4/5

I had been to this place three times. The chicken wantons was suggested by so many, but the taste after the third visit was terrible. The chicken used is old and has a smell to it. The noodles served were also very badly made.
The skin of the dumplings had a smell to it, probably because of unclean bamboo containers.

The place needs a change so that the customers do not fall sick after having the food.

Extremely bad food....
VegHunt
A felicitous place nestled in Panjim to please zest for authentic Asian food . Although the menu is dominated by non vegetarian food dishes but still you can find plenty of choices in vegetarian section. Tried Tofu in red sauce which was pleasantly succulent. Along with one of the best burnt garlic noodles. Service is good and staff looks happy to serve. Decor is little old and seating arrangement is somewhat cramped. Patrons mainly comprises of families . Located on a by lane so you most probably would get parking space.

This place is redefining glorious chinese food...great place to go with your family as well as to hangout with friends....prices are reasonable and although the bar doesnt match the heavenly standard of the food the drinks are not bad as well....fish phoniex ,dragon chicken are must try as well as chicken pot rice from the main course...also dont hesitate to go for the chefs specials....have been going here since my childhood and will always see this as a great place to dine....the experience is made better by the polite and useful staff

Okay food. Cramped place. Okay ambience. Don't know what the fuss is about. Overrated by my opinion. The placard is attention grabbing though. And it's not technically chinese as lot of people say. Maybe chinese inspired dish you might call.

Located in quite lanes of panaji, goenchin is a hidden jewel!
The ambiance is awesome and the staff is polite and swift too!
We had hot n sour soup, paneer sesame chilly, vegetable wantons, mocktails.
The garlic fried rice is awesome.
It is well priced! Highly recommended for a quite Chinese dinner!!

The best steamed prawn wantons I've had in Goa. The place is a hot favourite of Goans who love Chinese. A quaint little place needs reservation confirmation though, I particularly liked the long island ice tea that I ordered with their signature dragon chicken and steamed prawn wantons. Would definitely go back to try the other dishes on their menu!
Nicole Hoitink
Wow, I did not know Chinese food could be so good!!! What a lovely restaurant, great staff and amazing food and so well priced! Had so much food we had to take some with us as it was just too good to leave behind!

its first time that I am rating a restaurant and I really want to do it because Goenchin stands out from others. Each dish that they serve has its unique flavour and taste. Must visit place for Chinese food. Staff is very polite and service is good. Prices are slightly high, the taste worth that.
Oshika Dias
Very cozy and comfortable place. The food is fair enough. This place can get a little noisy on an sunday afternoon as the tables are placed close by.
Akash Choksi
Very depressing interiors and don’t try the chefs specials. The dishes had a lot of ajinomoto I was shocked to see such a good rating given to them on this platform.
Vivek Sardesai
Best Chinese food in Goa. Malaysian chicken is excellent.chicken pot rice dry with Malaysian chicken is excellent combination.bombay prawns are also good
Been coming here since my childhood. Visited this place today after 6 months. Nothing about this place has changed. And I am glad it didn't. Absolutely love this place for it's warm staff, delicious food and cozy Ambience. Their burnt garlic rice and chicken and black mushroom in oyster sauce is to die for.

Everyone in Goa, resident or tourist, has to give this place a try. One of the first Chinese Restaurants in Goa, Goenchin is till date the best in its line of cuisines, frequently adding new dishes and perfecting it's signature ones, the restaurant has limited seats which fill fast especially on weekends, so booking ahead is a must. The Thai Barbeque Chicken, Dragon and Phenix Soup, and the Peking Rice and Noodles, are must have dishes, and don't be afraid to try the Chinese Sounding ones like "Moo Goo Kay Pen" cause all of Goenchin dishes taste amazing.
Sunitaa Mathur
An old goan eatery which serves great Indian Chinese food tucked in a lane on a little uphill slope.
This is so good that The Chief Minister of the state of Goa comes here to eat! Yes you heard me right, as we entered, I liked a particular table to sit but was informed that is reserved. So we sat on the next table, placed the order and saw two men approaching the next table, it was Mr. Manohar Pariker himself. He is such an amazing down to earth person. He reciprocated my wish and smile to him in a very gentlemanly way! I am impressed.
Now for the food. Great taste, quick service, very polite and courteous staff.
Manchaow soup was petfect. Crispy corns were super yumm. Chowmein was just the way it is supposed to be... And their caramel custard 🍼 is due for... Beautiful yummmy I loooove it.
On our way out a rose đŸŒč was given to all 3 of us ladies. I am very impressed.
A MUST VISIT PLACE FOR A FOODIE LIKE ME, while you are in Goa!
Goenchin you rock!

Absolutely loved! the Chinese food. Quantity, quality, as well as service was pretty good
The port wine was the cherry on top ;)
Totally worth it
Would definetly recommend a visit here

Great authentic Chinese food which exists for many years now in Goa. Must try are soups and chef specials. The service can be improved a bit but rest of the things handle best.

Probably the best Asian restaurant I have tried in Goa.
Order any dish here and it will not disappoint you.
Try the Baba Ming pot rice( with gravy) its not on the menu..serves 3 people..and is the best rice you will have ever tasted.
Have been visiting the place for almost over a decade and the taste of each dish has remained the same!
The crab meat soup and the crab meat fried rice are delicious.
If you haven't visited this place yet, its time to go!

It's very rare that I rate any restaurant 5/5 but Goenchin deserves it. Been here for lunch. Its a quite decent place and the food here stands out. Most of food we ordered was seafood and it was exquisite. Ambiance is fine and the staff is polite as well.
Only down side is the bar. The cocktails are not good. Its just bad.
Priya Naik
Fabulous food that makes the veggie in me really happy. But don't be mistaken the non veg food here is delicious as well!
The first pic is Sesame chilli paneer. Yummmmm
Next is Dimsums...
My favourite dessert water chestnuts in coconut milk
Jashvina Sardesai
Goenchi is pretty famous for it oriental food in and around panaji. But it failed to impress me with it, we had ordered the prawn wrapped chicken which was pretty decent but the most disappointing was the chicken dumpling. It was not up to mark.
Shubham Kesarkar
EXQUISITE. The ambience is amazing, the Chinese cuisine is great. Try the Dragon Chicken and Bombay Prawns, it's really tasty and delicious. The service is top notch. Prices are slightly on the higher side but it's absolutely worth it. Must visit place if you like Chinese cuisine.
The Tingling Taste Buds
One of my most favourite restaurants. This place serves amazing Indian Chinese food. Must try dishes: Red Cooked Paneer, Malaysian Chicken, Chicken Lollipop, Chilli Oyster Noodles. Also the kimchi is delicious. The service here is great, the staff is friendly, great ambience. A must visit.

The food and service was amazing the kimchi was spicy and delecious the dragon chicken and chilli lemon chicken was beautiful .The abience was good as well at then end my mother was given a rose as well by the staff which was the cherry on top.

A must visit Chinese sit out with one of the friendliest staff in town. They are well versed with the menu and guide very well to what we request our meal to be ...
On weekends, make sure you prebook your table, it's usually houseful.

This may be an old restaurant but the quality is not bad. The servings are huge and the food is definitely favor some. However arrive early if you want a seat as this place is always buzzing around with people

This review is going to be slightly biased since I'm such a sucker for Chinese! This long established restaurant is definately my go to place for Chinese.
Ambience is fitting for a Chinese resto.
Food is delicious and way above average! Among the starters, loved the Dragon chicken. It came on a bed of crispy rice. Spring rolls are good too.
The Schezwan fried rice was amazing! And so was the sweet and sour chicken, and Chicken with buttoned mushrooms in oyster sauce. The place delivers in all aspects, quantity and quality!
The staff is very hospitable and also gave us girls a rose on exit! Such a sweet gesture.

Vitasta Kaul
An absolutely fabulous place!

This has been a legacy restaurant as explained to me by my father. It's consistently been good for the past years. We walked in and immediately found a waiting for the place with large groups awaiting their table. Luckily for us, we were only 4 and the host could conjure up a table immediately for us.

Coming to the food. We started with Chicken wontons, dragon chicken and the peppery hot lamb to start with. All of them were really good, but the peppery hot lamb took the cake in its exceptional taste!
Moving to some of the mains that we ordered the chau chau nyuk along with a vegetarian chilli garlic shantung noodles and nasi goreng. The pork was so tender and the nasi goreng reminded me of Indonesia.

For the alcohol friendly guests, do try their cocktails. Goenchin is downright generous with the amount of alcohol they serve. Try their mojitos and the friendly dragon. Yum!

Definitely worth visiting. For the Mumbai folk - reminds you of Ling's Pavilion

Gud food.. nice cozy ambience.. friendly staff.. if in search of quality oriental food this place is highly recommended..
So far the best Asian cuisine restaurant in Goa.
Dr.prafullata
One of the oldest Chinese restaurants in Panaji. Very good ambience & lovely staff who makes your meal extra special.
They have a high chair so your toddler allows you to enjoy the food.
The food is very good. The chef is creative & accommodating.
The gesture of giving a rose to ladies as a goodbye when they leave makes sure that we carry the best memories of the restaurant.

Besides ambiance, this place has nothing much to rave about. Food is nice but very very pricey considering the quantity. Service and staff were nice. Food wasn't great, but definitely authentic and tasty.
Merwyn
Very cozy spot in Panjim serving lovely food. They make à€–à€Ÿà€“ suey to order, generous in quantity as well. Value for money restaurant. Could work on their cocktails, tried the pinacolada wasn't that great.

Heard about this place and was told they serve good Pan Asian cuisine but I don't agree. Didn't match up to my taste and I LOVE Pan Asian cuisine. However, this place was a disappointment
Ambience 6
Service 7
Food 6
Good Chinese cuisine. Decently priced and generous portions. Red cooked paneer, paneer in sesame sauce, three flavoured chicken, burnt garlic fried rice, stuffed button mushroom, etc are some items to taste.
Meghna Chowdhary
The restauarnt was a little hard to find. We reached there hungry and tired. The place was, cool, cramped and seemed oriental enough with all the smells of garlic, ginger and lemon grass. We ordered a fresh lime soda to start with which was refreshing and nice. We then ordered an assortment of dishes including duck and pork, all of which were excellent! Couldn't complain about anything!

Later when we were leaving, us girls got a rose each, HOW CUTE! Total WIN. Recommended .

Fabulous place to dine Chinese in Goa. While there are multiple restaurants serving Oriental/ Thai cuisines in goa, you hardly have an authentic fine dinning chinese restaurant. Well the restaurant is a part of amazing hotel Mandovi, one of the 1st hotels in Goa when there was nothing that existed around Panjim city. It has a wonderful ambiance, gives you a little feel of Goa too. Staff are very courteous and food is mouthwatering. The General Manager of Mandovi Mr. Satish Prabhu has done some wonders to this place with his constant supervision i believe. The restaurant is in the center of Panjim & is a hub for families get together too. Lovely Place and definitely recommended.

A great place that grows on you. Little wonder that it's full of both regulars and newcomers. The food is great, and the service attentive without being overly fussy. The staff makes you feel special every time. Love the place!

One of the best meals in goa!
My love for Chinese took me to goenchin and I'm glad we went there. From the dragon and Phoenix soup to the caramel custard, everything was a delight! The duck we ordered was a little too crispy, rest everything- devils lamb, chicken hakka noodles, momos, dragon chicken was splendid! A must go place. Homey setup and hospitality at its best ❀

One of my all time favourite restaurants. goenchin serves excellent Indian Chinese food, it might even be the best in goa.

Must try dishes
1 Shredded chilly chicken
2 Malaysian chicken-served with Thai crispy rice noodles
3 Singapore fried rice-comes with gravy of its own but also pairs up well with any other gravy dish
4 Chicken in chilli Beijing sauce.

Prior booking may be required because this place is usually full and parking might be an issue. The service is quick and the staff is friendly.

Tucked away in the corner of Panjim near Althino. Goenchin is oldest Pan Asian restaurant of Panjim. Interiors are in line to any chinese place, reminds me of restaurants in Tangra, Kolkata. The staff is over enthusiastic to serve and is well trained. Standard line-up at the bar and for food, we have tried, Balinese Soup, Roast Lamb in Babycorn, and Kung Pao Chicken. The food is decent and full of flavour. If I have to rate them,
Food - 3.5/5
Quality - 3.5/5
Ambience - 3.5/5
Price - 3.5/5

Overall, 3.5/5. It is a landmark place, famous with the locals. They present the ladies with a rose post the meal, while walking out. Tradition they have been following for a long now.

Very nice little place. The ambience is nice, although it feels like the tables are a little too close to each other. But then again, considering the number of people, it's a good thing.
The food is very tasty. I personally would recommend the stuffed crab. It's packed with flavour. It's a bit pricey but the foods of good quality.

Located near the now famous kokni kanteen, Great place if you love Indian Chinese food. The service is very quick. Ordered chicken spring roll, manchow soup , chicken in Hunan sauce and burnt prawns fried rice . The fried rice and chicken in Hunan sauce are a must try . Haven't felt so good after having the food from here than any other Chinese restaurant . Definitely going there again! :-')

Location 3/5
Food 5/5
Service 5/5
Ambience 4/5
Value for money 5/5

My favourite Asian restaurant in Panjim, it serves the same quality and taste every single time! The most amazing thing on the menu has to be the Bangkok fish and the Malaysian chicken along with the chilli garlic noodles ! Also the caramel pudding is amazing.

Tucked away in a quiet bylane of Panaji market is Goenchin, the goto place for 'authentic' Indian Chinese. The decor is quit pleasant but could be a little more brightly lit. The service is quick and the food is delicious with a good variety for every pallet. Although the selections on the menu are regular like any other Chinese fine dining restaurant in the country the taste is definitely superior. Besides they have refilled enough chilly in the vinegar in the seasoning bowl....another rare feature. The desserts are a class apart, caramel pudding and fruit salad with icecream are a must try.

Great food and service. Highly recommend their dragon chicken dry. Minus points for value as they're quite expensive which by itself isn't a bad thing but their portions come up short for the money.

When it comes to Asian Cuisine or Chinese Food as we generally call it, food joints fall under 2 categories - one that serve totally bland food and second which provide a desi super spicy version of the same.

Goenchin subtly settles between the 2 categories. The quality, quantity and service is really good.

Next time you are in Goa, take a stroll along the hidden lanes of Panaji, locate Goenchin and enjoy the meal.

My Recent Goa visit -
In love with this place. I'm a die hard fan of Asian Cuisine and a place like this makes me go crazy.
Everything about it is great. I have always seen the place crowded.
Taste
Service
Ambiance
It's a small place with great food. Known as the best place for Chinese and seafood.
BEST PART - I always look forward for the beautiful Rose flower they give to the ladies while departing from the place.
Guys if you have not tried this you have missed an opportunity to experience one of the finest restaurants in Panjim serving Chinese Cuisine with a remarkable service that enhances your dining experience. Don't worry about the approach, the dining experience completely overpowers the same. Dined with family and friends. Loved the food and the service. Small gestures like a red rose to the ladies on departure leaves a mark. Keep up the good work. Recommended with Friends and family.

Best place for Chinese food. I just love the food. But it is always crowded. If you are planning to go then reserve seat. Food is too tasty. Lot of options. But it is bit expensive.

Best Lunch I have ever made in all my Visits to Goa !!!

Though the place is somewhat compact, it has the best ambiance and Great Food with good service

Starters -
Kon Pean crispy Chicken - My favorite and it was as I was expecting
Spicy Prawns Bejing Style - New to this one but it tasted great
Mushroom and Baby Corn in Sizzled Chillies - Ordered for my Veggie Friends not sure with the taste :)

Main Course -
Nasi Goreng - Inodenisan food which was good but it has prawns (dried once) which smell a bit and I don't like dry prawns.
Bamee Pahd - I just loved this one and a perfect noodles dish
Sweet & Sour Chicken - Regular one at it best

Drinks -
Irish Whiskey
Cocktail - Screwdriver (Good)
Mocktails - Eden apple, Goenchin Delight (Kind of Ok Ok )

I suggest all the foodies to try this little one which will not disappoint you at all

One of the best Chinese restaurants probably in our country. It's not just a variety in the menu card, they actually cook what they've written & it tastes great. All the big names in Chinese food are actually nowhere in comparison to Goenchin's food. One thing which hurts is there strictness of .timings. Though they told us beforehand that they won't accept orders after 3pm, my son wanted to repeat his order of lamb with mushrooms but they refused .

Classic Chinese Ambience. 4/5
Courteous Staff. 4.5/5
As for food we ordered
STARTERS
fried chicken wontons 2.5/5: decent nothing great nothing bad. The sauce with these was amazing.
Prawn samui 1/5: the only bad things from our order. Tasted more of cabbage than of prawn.

MAIN COURSE
Crabmeat fried rice 3.5/5: nice flavour of crab in well cooked fried rice.
Nasi goreng 4.5/5: full of flavour. You can feel different flavours in your mouth. Probably the best Indonesian you can get In India.
Bamee Pahd 4/5: soft noodles cooked just about right. A must try if you like flavour of peanut.
Roasted Duck with Mushroom in Szechwan sauce 4/5: cooked with passion, you can taste the flavour of mushroom and duck in the sauce.

DESSERTS
Darsaan(honey fried noodles) 4.5/5: crispy sweet flat noodles with ice cream. Had this for the first time so can not compare but will definitely comeback again for this. Goes straight into the list of some top deserts.

Overall decent place for Pan Asian Cuisine.

If it's Chinese in Goa, it has to be Goenchin. Recently a slew of nationwide Chinese food chains like Mainland China have entered Goan market. But when it comes to Chinese, that's made to cater 4 Indian taste nothing comes close to this place. Have been a visitor to this place for decades now. But it has kept up it's quality of food & service impeccably. Must visit for a Indo-Chinese fusion food lover. The only problem I have is with the space or rather lack of it. It's a cramped restaurant, with few seats. Being on the side of a main road parking is a problem too. Please make a reservation before planning a trip to Goenchin

Perhaps the best place for Chinese in Goa ... Pleasant interior, warm staff, fast service and decent quantity. We ordered veg and non veg wontons(steamed) , dragon chicken, noodles and kwaans harvest gravy! Loved all dishes, chicken dragon was the best!
Also for the ladies, they give u a rose while leaving! A sweet gesture indeed!

Been here a earlier also. The food is good but not really the good feel of Chinese. ... But overall would say it's good. Service too is nice

A cutesy place with mouth-watering varieties of Chinese cuisine 😍
The garlic butter prawns are to die for. So are their dimsums and wontons. The place is pricey but the food is and service make up for it.
The place is overflowing on weekends, so be sure to making a reservation beforehand is recommended.

One of goa's most loved restaurants for its decent Chinese fare, familiar surroundings and people, and complimentary rose at the exit!
Little parking available along a steep slope.
The quality of the wonton soup has deteriorated. The burnt garlic fried rice was just regular fried rice (with nearly raw vegetables) with some pinches of burnt garlic on top. The rustic garlic flavor doesn't permeate through the dish.
Nice Thai rice dishes, the basil and chilli flavors come through.
From the sauces, the chicken in Beijing chilli sauce is good old MSG laden Chinese. Avoid the yellow Thai curry.
In desserts the darsan with vanilla ice cream is a favorite. The honeyed crisps aren't too sweet and don't hurt the palate.

Probably the first Chinese restaurant in panjim, goenchin has always been our go to place to try out some authentic and delicious Chinese and Thai food. The place has an amazing ambience and though it may seem all cramped up inside, one bite of their delicious steamed wantons makes you forget all that. Some of my favourate dishes include the chicken pot rice, their Thai green curry as well as their bamee pahd and nasi goreng. Do check out the place for some real authetic Chinese food.

This is one of the best restaurant for chinese cuisine in Panjim.
Pot rice, dragon chicken, golden fried prawns, crabmeat soup are a must try.
Would recommend reservation before going as it is always crowded.
