Review Delhi Darbar Restaurant & Bar - Panjim

Tanmay Bandodkar
A decent simple ambience with the best North Indian food .we had chicken biryani which was nice not spicy though boneless properly marinated served with rayta. Fresh lime water on medium as we asked. Best part was black pepper chicken 🍗 🤤 mouth watering properly cooked soft and tinder and to get a crisp of it mixed with nice salad best starter i had. Would rate this place 4.6 out of 5 👌 Highly recommended i would have tried darbar chicken special but tummy was full maybe next time.

Delhi Durbar Hotel in Goa has undoubtedly become one of my favorite culinary destinations! My recent visit to this delightful establishment left me with an unforgettable experience of flavors and aromas that tantalized my taste buds like never before. Upon entering the hotel, I was warmly greeted by the attentive and courteous staff, who escorted me to the restaurant with a genuine smile. The ambience was both charming and relaxing, making it a perfect setting for a delightful dining experience. Now, let's talk about the food – it was simply divine! The chefs at Delhi Durbar have mastered the art of preparing delectable dishes that reflect the rich and diverse flavors of Indian cuisine. The menu offers a wide range of dishes, from classic North Indian delicacies to mouthwatering coastal delights. For starters, I had the pleasure of savoring their Paneer Tikka – the soft and succulent paneer pieces were marinated to perfection, bursting with flavors of spices and charred to a delightful smoky texture. The Tandoori Prawns were equally impressive, leaving me wanting more with each bite. The main course was an absolute treat. The Butter Chicken was a showstopper – creamy, rich, and perfectly balanced with spices. The Goan Fish Curry was a delightful surprise, with its coconut-infused gravy and tender fish pieces. The aromatic Biryani stole the spotlight, and the fragrance alone was enough to awaken my taste buds. To end on a sweet note, the desserts at Delhi Durbar were nothing short of blissful. The Gulab Jamun was warm and soaked in a sugary syrup, while the Kulfi was the ideal way to cool down after a delightful feast. I must also commend the service, as it was top-notch throughout the evening. The staff's knowledge of the menu and their recommendations were spot-on, making my dining experience even more enjoyable. Overall, my visit to Delhi Durbar Hotel in Goa was an unforgettable journey through the diverse and delightful world of Indian cuisine. The flavors, the service, and the ambience all came together to create a memorable culinary experience that I'll cherish for years to come. If you're a food lover seeking an exceptional dining experience in Goa, Delhi Durbar Hotel is a must-visit destination!

*heard a lot about this place from my seniors. It is one of the best in panaji, always wanted to visit here, finally got a chance to visit and the visit was wonderful. The brownie made my day. *The ambience was good not great. They can work a little on decoration. *The price is as per the quality and fame. *The food quality is really nice. *I tried sizzling brownie as per Google review and it was really delicious, loved it. *It remains open till 4:30 pm and then closes from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm and again opens at 7:00 pm. *The people serving were really nice and friendly. *The service was quick. *They accept card and cash. *They serve veg and non-veg both. *They also serve alcohol and wine. *I will recommend a visit to Delhi darbar.

Food and Service was nice. We enjoyed our time. Masala Chas was good. We ordered a mild spicy curry despite the suggestion from the service advice. We didn’t enjoy the curry as it was very bland, it was mostly our mistake as we did not appreciate the taste

Perfect ambience along with tasty food. Everything seems perfect here. We ordered pompret fry as starter and chicken tawa in main course. The service was fast and the staff is polite. The restaurant is so close from the main highway.

Taste is fabulous. It's just over priced with regards to food. Service is bit slow as the servants are some times busy chit chatting. Not a big issue if things are served properly. I had plain curd and it was over thick just like having hung curd. I feel in the process of making it over thick, the actual taste of curd disappeared. Management kindly think upon it. I had ordered Paneer Tikka, Dal Makhani, Veg Kadhai, Plain Curd and Butter Naans. Tikka was amazing and so was Dal. Veg Kadha was little disappointing with regards to taste. Butter Naan were huge and fat. One butter Naan is equivalent to two naan. I don't think so I have ever had such an tasty butter Naan.

Shitty Food! Thevies! I made a mistake by taking my friends over this place. They tried to pull a scam on me by charging us 2,00,000 INR instead of our original bill that’s 1,500 INR. I would not recommend this restaurant.
FoodieBy Nature
Heard About Delhi Darbar so during my visit to Goa this time ordered Chicken Biryani and Mix Fried Rice. Quantity is sufficient in both the items as sharing this with my friend ..Biryani was tasted good with chicken tendered nicely with spices . Like the Food recommend to try it once whenever you are in GOA.

More importantly quality of food is also good. You want get food with unnecessarily poured oil or hot spices. Its well balanced and yum north indian food. M fond of their dal makhani.

Just in love with this restaurant in panjim city. Delhi darbar is one of the oldest restaurants and is worth a visit. Ambience is good. Staff and service is amazing. Chicken banjara kebab is flavoursome with amazing marination of spices and is a must try dish here.
Rovingeyes
Visited Delhi Darbaar on a weekday for dinner . The food was slightly expensive but not that bad. Considering Goa you don’t have very authentic North Indian food everywhere. So it’s a ok experience in terms of taste and quality. The hygiene is good .

A must visit place in Panjim if you are craving for authentic mughlai and north india food! ambience is really good. (4🌟/5)
1. Chicken banjara kabab
2. Murgh haryali kabab
3. Prawns fry
4. Curd Salad
5. Chicken biryani
6. Fish tikka masala

I would definitely recommend to try these starters. Worth a go👍
🏻 Starters :
CHICKEN BANJARA KABAB is a delicious spicy kebab. Here boneless chicken is coated in the spicy marination of yogurt and then grilled.

MURGH HARYALI KABAB consists of boneless pieces of chicken which is well marinated with the puree of mint and garlic. Chicken pieces were really juicy, tender and grilled perfectly.
RAVA FRIED PRAWNS is the dish which makes my mouth water. Even now while I am writing about this dish, it’s making my mouth water. Crisp and juicy prawns and perfectly fried.
These starters were served with CURD SALAD and onion rings.

Main course :
CHICKEN BIRYANI loaded with spicy marinated chicken, caramelized onions and was served with Raita which was refreshing. But the biryani was an average dish here.
FISH TIKKA MASALA : boneless pieces of kingfish marinated with lip-smacking tikka masala sauce. Vibrant and healthy, this curry is all about deliciously rich flavors of grilled fish, aromatic spices and herbs.

Delhi Darbaar is one famous outlet all over India , it's famous for its authentic North Indian food. Delhi Darbaar has two outlets in Goa one is in Calangute and one is in the heart of Panjim at MG road.

The ambience is pretty simple and nice and gives you warm and cozy vibes. This restaurant is usually crowded so make sure you book a table . Also it's a perfect place for lunch or dinner with family and friends.
.
We tried their starters and main course.
🌟Starters
1) Haryali kebab
2) Banjara kebab
3) Prawns fry 🌟Maincourse
1)Chicken Biryani
2)Fish Tikka Masala
.
The starters were presented so beautifully with this electric candles and it looked stunning. The kebabs are usually always served with this curd salad and some seasoned onions.
.
The Haryali kebab was my personal favourite starter because it was perfectly marinated In cafreal Masala, the kebab weren't hard they were very soft .
.
Then next we tried was bangara kebab again a great starter and it is a delicious kebab and again hereit is marinated in spicy yogurt and Masala.
.
Prawns fry were fried in rava and they were fresh and it was very crunchy and was tasty .
Definitely a try .
.
Then for maincourse we tried their Biryani now the Biryani smelled really good, the chicken they put in the Biryani were boneless and very soft and the quantity of the chicken was good ,but the biryani was sweet because even caramelised onions were there. Usually I love my Biryani to be spicy with all that spices but this Biryani was sweet however it tasted good.
.
Along with the Biryani we tried fish Tikka Masala, we tried this dish only because we have heard so much about Chicken Tikka Masala and have eaten it on multiple occasions but never tried the fish tikka masala and we were curious how fish Tikka Masala would taste and to be honest I loved the gravy , it wasn't at all disappointing , the Tikka Masala is usually prepared with the king fish and it tasted just delish.
.
Do visit Delhi Darbaar now to try out all these dishes and you won't be disspointed. The quality is undoubtedly the best. A big thumbs up.
Food Lover
Amazing quality of food. Loved the food. Good taste. Really satisfied with the vegetarian food. The quantity served is worth the price. Good worth for money.

Delhi darbar serves muglia food at it's best.
We had Bangara Kebab, Hariyali Kebab and Prawns Rawa Fry for starters. Everything was prepared to perfection.
My favourite has to be the Bangara Kebab. They were tender, juicy with a kick of spice. All their kebabs are served with a curd salad.
A complete ten on ten for me.
For mains we had Chicken Biryani and Fish Tikka Masala. Fish Tikka was my experiment of the day and I totally loved it. Good job on that.
The chicken biryani came with a good serving size and was absolutely comforting.

This place is genuinely nice for having conversations. Food is way good to taste. The bar is expensive and rates are higher than usual. You get a taste of delhi out here! A must try place if it's around.

Delhi Darbar has been my favourite restaurant since childhood. One of the top restaurants in Panjim it is known for its delicious kebabs and not to forget It's Biryanis. I was invited for a bloggers meet at Delhi Darbar and I was served these dishes- Hariyali kebab, Banjaara Kebab, Prawns Rawa fried with tartar sauce, Fish Tikka Masala and Chicken Biryani with Raita. The kebabs are always served with a Curd salad which goes very well with it.
The Hariyali kebab was my most favourite, it was marinated in green (Cafreal) masala and was very soft and tasted really good. Overall my whole experience at Delhi Darbar was amazing. They always serve good quality food and has a nice ambience. I highly recommend you to try out this restaurant for a lovely lunch or dinner. Make sure you book a table before going as it is always crowded! Along with the dishes mentioned I would suggest you to try my personal favourite dishes - Cashew nut Chicken, Murg malai kebab, cheese Garlic naan and sizzling brownie for dessert. For a more detailed review on each dish check out my food page on Instagram and Facebook- @romaloves_food

Always debating which is better, the Murgh malai kebab or murgh harayali kebab. Still don’t have the answer but definitely both are mouth watering. The chicken do piaza is definitely worth a go. Kheema naan has to be one of the favourites. Gulab jamun is how you want to end a delightful dinner . Lovely ambience and a great staff.

The chicken Biryani here is really tasty. Loved it! Also the Banjara kabab were awesome. The ambiance though maybe a bit packed... The food and service are worth a visit.
Geetanjali
Located in the heart of Panjim market DD takes you back to the good old Delhi good.

The ambience is nice and simple with effective ACs and efficient staff.

We tried the Rogan Josh, Palak Paneer, 4-5 naans and a soft drink to cater the 2 of us. The Palak Paneer was nice with big chunks of Paneer, the Mutton was just alright(won’t recommend or try again here)

Our bill was approx 1150 which as per Goa standard is a little high but okay once in a while.

Must try when craving North Indian food.
Neha Bisaria Johri
We celebrated our dad n mom's anniversary...they loved the food...we had come to this place before, so this time we took them to Delhi darbaar...ordered dhania chicken, Malai kofta and dal!! Awesome food this place has to offer!!! If u r in panjim, this place is a must visit.
VegHunt
Delhi Darbar is Known for non veg dishes and menu as expectedly predominantly is filled them.

Tables are too close for comfort especially for a conversation if there are evesdropper on next table.
Would recommend only to #vegetarians if you want to try good north Indian dishes and are ok with non veg being served on nearby table.
Navin Nishant
We tried the Delhidarbar for the first time last night(Dinner) and the food was great, freshly cooked very tasty and well presented. The waiter(i forgot name) were attentive and service overall was good.
Nikhar
Only went here because nothing else was available at that time.
Rude staff, congested seating, food so bland like it was meant for a one year old. The only good thing was quick service.
Shikha Singh
It is new chain of restaurant which has started in Goa, I came across many hoarding and luckily got a chance to have lunch here. The ambiance is very lively, staff service is good. Food is up-to the mark, they have ample of veg and non-veg option.
Megha Verma
Food was tasty, Ambience was awesome, service was fast. Overall had really good time here :) Ordered Palak paneer and dal makhani - mouth watering taste. Would love to visit eveytime I am in Goa..
Nishad
I have been here several times with my family. This time i came here with friends.
There was a orchestra going on of old songs which was good. They close down quite early at night almost before 11pm. We ordered paneer shashlik, Chicken tikka, veg jalfrezi, veg kadhai, chicken kadhai and rice. The service was swift and so was the quantity. The chicken tikka was brilliantly made. The chicken gravy was average. A bit pricey. Overall a average experience.
Amit Jhunjhunwala
Visited this restaurant for dinner. Very nice North Indian food. Good taste. Courteous staff. Speedy preparation. Would love to visit again.
Raj Kanneganti
worst service I have ever seen in my life and that too in goa a wonderful place , iam writing directly from restaurant table itself and I came here around 12:30 PM and ordered some beer and chicken tikka . A gang of 7 came and they have asked them to shutdown ac and they have literally shutdown ac without asking me as I was sitting for 30 minutes under ac and it is too hot here

they don't really care for people and service is very rude and I need to ask them to serve all the time and they want money yes I agree but they also need to look at customers as well

Because their restaurant is filling, they will do all these nonsense anyways will never visit gain
Shabana Kasem
An excellent place to have awesome Indian cuisine with very good service and a relaxing ambience. Must try is the Fish Tikka, Dal Tadka and the Rava Prawns.
Brokelings
I honestly didn't think I'd get such great North Indian food in Goa. Totally gave me a feel of Delhi. The Dal Makhani was something to die for and the drinks on offer were great too. The ambience is on point!
Harinath Ravichandran
Didn't spend a lot of time here though.

But over all - ambience was good. A bit on the expensive side. But can visit for a one in a while Dining.

Richard Dsouza
Unfortunately for me, I set butter chicken (wherever available) as a benchmark for the quality of the food served.
Take away. Butter chicken.

Was really disappointed with the quality of the butter chicken.
Portion was good for two and it was piping hot even after reaching home.
Vanessa
This place is situated in Panjim Market. And looks very elegant and posh. Looking at the place you'll think they have amazing North Indian food. Fact- they have the worst North Indian food I've ever eaten in my entire life. We'd ordered Chicken Tikka and Chicken Biryani. The Chicken Tikka is supposed to be grilled on skewers. This was more like fried chicken. The chicken was cooked all the way through but had no taste and flavour. The Chicken Biryani was a waste. Never ever in my life have I eaten such bad Biryani. It was sweet! And we couldn't eat more than a couple of spoons. We'd also ordered Masala papad and beer. The Masala papad was okay-ish. Wrapped and plated in a fancy manner. The beer! Usually at restaurants and or bars, the waiter asks you to touch the bottle and check for yourself whether the beer is cold enough before he opens it and serves it to you. Here, he didn't do it. And when I tried to check, he looked a little puzzled and had that expression like "why check if the beer is cold enough?". Overall, the ambience and interiors are good. It's expensive and not worth it, considering the food they serve. The waiters are okay. The service is quick. But the food is a huge huge huge disappointment and so are the prices. Never going back here.
Vishal Soni
Terrible attitude of waiters who have been rotting here since decades. Hellbent on spoiling customers experience by their stubbornness. Screwed up even a some Irish coffee which used to be good a few years back. Never again to visit here.
Suneeti
Perfect place to hog north India food in place like Goa. Crowded year fast service. Typical north food . Decent ambience, excellent food. Surely worth a try
Harleen Kaur
One of the best places to have North Indian food!! Paneer malai tikka is just love.. staff is courteous. All time favourite place to enjoy delicious food.
Aashvi Suri
Being a North Indian, many friends recommended this place. Though I must say it was very disappointing.
There were cockroaches lurking on the wall right where we were sitting, made me question the hygiene in the cooking. That was cleared up soon by the moderate tasting chicken and paneer dishes we ordered. I must say that for the price they charge, the experience isn't very good.
If you are really dying for a north indian taste in goa, you may try this. That being said, I won't recommend this restaurant.
Rohit Kabra

One of the few joints in panaji serving muglai good. Been around for as long as i can remember. One of the older restaurants in Goa. The biryani and malai kebab r a must try.the service could use some work though.
We ordered butter chicken and kebab .
Also the pepper chicken is really good
Harshit Malviya
delicious food..
comfortable seating..
place where you can get your typical north indian taste..
very satisfied with ambience..
the menu here consists of combo..
little costly still worth it to spend..

Great food specially chicken tikka masala, It was awesome... Prices are little bit high but taste is 👌.highly recommended ... Good service.. Good ambience...
Vishal Manjarekar
Loved this place with proper darbar set up. You will get yummy dal makhani here. Paneer starters is very well. One of the best advantage is that this place is open till 12 am in place like Goa where everything get closed by 10 pm. If you are vegetarian and roaming late in Punjim for a food then must visit l.
Jagmandeep Singh
Being a north Indian, it is tough to find good daal makhani in a place like goa (apart from home). Delhi Darbar just hits the right spots, the food is exquisite and mouth-watering. Bar has a decent line-up and for food our order is standard, Daal Makhani, Butter Chicken and Garlic Naans like a true punjabi. The food is heavy, tasteful and easily glides into the stomach. The feeling is blissful. If I have to rate them,
Food - 4/5
Price - 4/5
Ambience - 4/5
Quality - 4/5
Overall, 4/5 highly recommended. Don't forget to have Paan while walking out.
Mathews K Thomas
Delhi people, if you miss north Indian food then don't think twice before ordering the regular dal makhabi, Rogan Josh or the nans , will leave your stomach bloated for sure which is surely the North Indian style of eating. Delhi darbar ki jai.
Rebecca Desena
Great place good food must try the sagwala (spinach based gravy) ! And the chicken kebab curry its superb! Friendly staff good way to start my Zomato account :)
AK
Delhi Darbar is Restaurant Serving Indian,Mughlai,Punabi Cusine and is a well known establishment in Goa.

Ambience is Good...not the best.

Service is Slow.

Food is Good and But Not the Best...and especially with all the Hype surrounding this place...It Should Definitely be a Hell lot better.

Overpriced...Yes

All in All... You Can Visit this place If you're tired of your Local Takeaway Place and want To Spend Way More on Food That is Overpriced and Average in Taste.
Karan Vashishat
Gave the Delhi feel.
We went there to try veg food.
Tomato Soup: 3/5: decent stuff nothing too great.
Paneer Makhani: 4/5: as close to Delhi stuff as it can be.
Veg Hara dhaniya: 4/5: mix veg in coriander flavoured gravy. Amazing stuff.
Roti and Lacha parantha: right balance between crisp and soft.atta stuff no maida mixed as is the case at a lot of other places in Goa.

1200 for all this.

The cost is on the higher side as per Goa standards. But the taste justifies the pricing.
Will definitely go back.
Manish Sane
Nice decor.
High end price like Pune/Mumbai. Not at all Goa...
Food was good.
They offered paan at the exit was really nice.
Location bang on river front.
Enjoy best north food in goa.

Ambience - 6/10
Food -8/10
Probably the second best place to have north indian food in GOA!
And yea if you care for your life please do carry some extra cash to give some tips to the waiter !
Suraj Desai
Visited the place during the off season but still the restaurant was full with tourists.
Some also say that your trip to Goa is incomplete without a visit to this place.
As the name suggests, it offers north Indian delicacies at its best.
We had Masala fried Pomfret and Fish Peri Peri to begin.
Spices were awesome and so does the texture of the food.
The chicken biryani was the one I'd remember for sure for its balanced taste.
Ambience 4/5
Taste: 4.5/5
Price: 3.5
Staff: 4

Delhi Darbar
This restaurant & bar is situated in the heart of city Panaji. It is a 2 floor Restaurant, with Ground floor more for a bar type atmosphere & 1st floor is related to family atmosphere. The only difference you will see on 1st floor is that it on the 1st floor a man is seen singing old songs & a Big fish Tank. :-)

The atmosphere is more sort of a Persian nature you will notice once you visit the restaurant. The place gets crowded after 9 so I would suggest to book your table as early as possible.

Now about the service. Well you wont see a local staff speaking Konkani except that singer. So most conversation is to be in Hindi or English. The food will be delivered to your table & served within 15 minutes.

The food ordered was Darbar special Chicken which was more sort of chicken kheema with a piece of chicken tikka. The chicken tikka biryani was very tasty and well made with low oil. The Tandoori Roti was made as expected (burnt a bit). The ice cream was a mix of Vanilla & Chocolate.

The restaurant is high on its prices. Even the ice cream was 30% than average price found around the restaurant. The mineral bottle too overpriced. And over it don't forget the taxes. So if you think bill will be Rs. 500 it crosses well over Rs. 750.

Final words if you don't mind the prices then you are been served the best North Indian meal in Goa.

I love this place for ambience and also the lovely tandoor chicken and shahi chicken curry it is really tasty and full of cream and butter. Also there biryani was really tasty. But on other side day by day taste is hampering and rates are increasing. Thats bad which was not expected in quality after paying good amount of money.

Located in the heart of panaji city,Delhi darbar serves mouth watering north Indian food. Seating is available on the ground level as well as the first floor. Tangdi kabaab, chicken biryani and butter chicken are highly recommended here. Apart from that, there is a wide range of things on the menu to choose from.

Just made it before they close for lunch and were treated well. Good food and value for money. Not many options in Goa for North Indian food.
