Review Cafe Al Fresco - Panjim

Situated in a art gallery this cafe is very pretty. Unfortunately it’s also super crowded. They have a strange system of needing to send a WhatsApp message to reserve a table which was … unique. We got a table after about 45m of waiting which is pretty high. We spent the time just touring the galleries. Once we got the table the staff was friendly, we whatsapped the ordered and the food came out. The service was slow but the food was great. The drinks came a few hours after we finished our food :) I still am giving this five because it’s an encapsulation of Goa - beautiful and quaint, artistic and laid back and eventually captivating.

This place is absolutely beautiful. The setting is gorgeous. Such great vibes. We came here with our then almost 3 year old back in February 2021 and enjoyed coffee and chocolate croissant and both were delicious. We came back in December 2021 and tried few items from their breakfast menu like omelette, turkish eggs and salmon eggs benny over waffles - too good! Their christmas dessert was delicious as well The ambiance is just breathtaking so come and enjoy this beautiful place in Panjim. We read ample negative reviews about service etc but didn't experience anything negative. Give this place a try :)

The Cafe is a perfect place to meet friends and have a good cup of coffee along with the tasty fare offered. I tried the avocado Hummus sandwich and also the date and coconut vegan cake. Absolutely delicious. My daughter had eggs in purgatory. Perfect place to unwind during a visit to Panjim :)

This place will certainly clean bowl you. The property will take you back into the Portugese colonial era. An excellent spot to kill a lazy afternoon. Sitting in the corridor around an open courtyard in the middle of this colonial bunglow gives the place a special touch. And coffee, sandwiches and burgers are excellent. They have someone in the kitchen who certainly is good at his job. And apart from the food they have a permanent art display also for those who are interested. Highly recommended for repeat visits.

This was a wonderful visit and was on our wishlist. It's a gallery and cafe. I was excited to check out all the galleries (totally 4) each of them had its own message and art defined. Cudos to all the artists. Coming to the food , it was filling and tasty. We ordered a lot of food (both veg and non veg) and the staff was very polite and quick enough to deliver it . Tye fresh juices are a must try along with the deserts. We friends enjoyed our time here . It's a must go if you are around that place .

Old Goan house vibe. Not many tables and no a but a nice place to hang out and chat with friends. In altinho so you're out of the traffic craziness and it feels a world apart from the busy city streets below.

It's a little off the road almost on a hill. There's an art gallery too. But the travel is totally worth it. Did not have a lot here but the items I had were amazing! I would absolutely loved this place. I'd recommend the following Turkish Eggs - 10/10 - It's too good. Must try! Fresh Orange Juice - 9/10 - Expensive but a great accompaniment Fusilli with pesto - 9/10 - It doesn't very unhealthy. It surprisingly feels fresh Great place! Must try! I had ordered choco truffle cake one kg for my wife's birthday. The cake was delivered on time and fresh. The taste was amazing that it was a real choco truffle cake I haven't eaten in my lifetime. Thanks to manas and team. They have a very good professional team to address the customer's needs. Surely will recommend to my friends🎺

Prettiest and Calmest Calm you'll ever be at when in Panaji. The outdoors are purely Portuguese plus give a little Italy vibe with the blue and whites.<br/>Its actually an art museum + cafe.<br/><br/>Coming to vibe, its peaceful and natural with its wooden interiors.<br/><br/>They make their own bread and jam. And I must say, the jam is hands down one of the best I have ever had.<br/>We had ordered typical breakfast items including bread-jam, veg sandwiches, cold coffee and fresh lima soda. They were perfect and filling.<br/><br/>Saving the best for the next, Bodega serves the best Cheesecake I have ever had. Have I been not a tourist, I would've bought them every single day! A very beautiful awe inspiring place in the heart of the city. The location will take one's breath away with a great view of the Panjim Valley. The food here is amazing with a special shout-out for the pancakes, which are worth every morsel.<br/><br/>Beyond the food, the modern art gallery is extremely beautiful and thought provoking.

Loved the place, specially how its located in an old bunglow. The ambience is lovely. coming to the food, i tried their sunny side up on herbed biscuit and salted caramel almond milkshake and they were absolutely delicious. This cafe is a must visit when in Goa.

Cutest little art cafe. Loved the portugese architecture and greenery. Highly recommend the berry smoothie, bodega coffee and creamy mushroom sandwich. We took a little tour of the art gallery after breakfast, a beautiful end to a yummy meal.

Set in the middle of a art gallery, this cafe is peaceful and calm. The perfect place for lengthy conversations!<br/><br/>Waffles that came with caramelized bananas and vanilla ice cream, were the best of our order. Next up the list would be the pizza and hash browns! Eggs Benedict stood out both in presentation and taste.<br/>The cubano sandwich was okay though!

Bodega is in my top 10 breakfast cafe in and around India, apparently the English breakfast here is heart and stomach warming, coffee is something to not forget with the cinnamon biscuit to munch on. The place is on a hill from where you can see the Panjim City also if you're lucky enough to see the exhibitions and art pieces which is held inside the villa in which the cafe is, the ambience of the place is just amazing. This cafe has been added to my list everytime i visit Goa.

What a beautiful and serene setting for brunch. Went there for brunch with some friends, was a wonderful experience. We had butter crossiants and eggs..both are totally recommended. The coffee and juice was also very good.<br/>The staff is friendly, helpful and very polite. <br/>Absolute must when in Goa...it a a bit far out to get to but totally wroth it.<br/>Pretty sure to be a regular here :)

Honestly don't know what is great about this place. All the items are overpriced & nothing tastes good except the red velvet cake, which I also found was too overpriced. The ambience is good to chill with your friends or cousins.

To start with, the ambience and the location is very nice. It has an outdoor seating setup with nice music. We ordered whole-wheat carrot ravioli and that was pretty okayish. Personally didn't like the hype about the place but that could also be because of my lack of knowledge about the dish and the taste to expect from that.

Went there for breakfast atound 10 a.m , the place is so quiet and calm! Staffs are supergood and they have a flavourful menu ! I personally loved pita bread with hummus and first time i had turkish poached eggs and loved it! All the beverages i had are tasty ! Loved the experience

Calm, quaint, elegantly done place, serving a great continental menu. High quality basics such as eggs done perfectly, good quality bread, jam and butter.<br/>The poached eggs on waffle with smoked fish is an indulgence your Sunday brunch deserves. And the bodega omlette is paired well with the crusty bread and jam and butter which was a delight to eat. The cheese cake was creamy and had a slight refreshing citrusy glaze. The orange marmalade cake was extremely delicious and so complex in flavour it blew my mind! The doily in the take away box is a nice touch! Such a cultured place :)

I had the Cafe con Gelato, some cakes and Kombucha. The cakes were marvelous and all of us tried and loved the different Kombucha all of which were very good. The Cafe con Gelato wasn't all that great though. The staff were very courteous and were extremely polite while explaining their menu.

If you dont have any plans for sunday brunch in goa, just take your hungry stomach, dress up well and hop in to al fresco by cantina bodega. A wide variety of eggs, breads, and desserts such as the cheese cakes, exotic pastries is waiting for you to savour. We had takeaway the lemon pastry. It had such a true flavour of each and every part of lemon. Ambience is the aspect never compromised. The stafg here is also very happy and always caters you with a bright wide smile😋

Operating from an ancient Portuguese house on a hill in Altinho, along side with an art cafe.<br/>Bodega always has a welcoming vibe, my ideal brunch place.<br/>The eggs Benedict served on a waffle with ham topped with smooth hollandaise sauce is my pick. Another simply amazing dish is the Turkish poached eggs topped with greek yogurt and spicy olive oil.<br/>The bacon rashes are crispy and salt content intact.<br/>Highly recommended with the eggs benedict.<br/>Bodega is famous for cakes and in particular the red velvet cupcakes. Bodega is one of my favorite cafes in Panjim. I can drop in here just for some quite time with some friends and lots of desserts. Yes I am stressing on desserts since I have only tried the desserts served here. Red velvet cupcake is my all time favorite along with the carrot cake and the salted caramel cake.Its perfect place for breakfast or lunch alongside the lush green plants in a colonial house in Altinho.

Been here multiple times and it’s one of the cozy cafes in north Goa with good food, service and ambiance. As of recent tried their carrot cake with some cappuccino and chicken meat ball pomodoro, the best combination for a breakfast.

This is a cute cafe in Panjim. The food was good. Nachos is a must try. There were a lot of flies which was irritating.. it's little expensive.

@Cafe Al Fresco by Cantina Bodega is a beautiful French cafe suited at Altinho, panjim. Much before I visited this cafe I had heard alotttt about it! It is indeed a beautiful and peaceful cafe cum art gallery. We decided to try lemon ice tea, cold coffee, red velvet cupcake, waffle and spicy shrimp turnover. Their ice tea and red velvet cupcake was the best❤️ I didn’t find anything special about the cold coffee. Shrimp turnover was tasty😋 I personally didn’t like the waffles even though they seemed presentable but they were drizzled with very little chocolate syrup and accompanied by maple syrup. Menu is slightly pricey but good quantity and hygienic. Very friendly and caring staff.👍🏻 5/5 for the ambience❤️ worth every visit to the cafe😍

An absolute delight , the food and it's place , reminding us of the old goan feel. We loved the concept of old house being converted into a cafe. All the dishes were with a wonderful taste and nice presentation. We happened to visit there on our last day in Goa and regret not having another day to try the remaining dishes in menu.<br/>A must visit when in Goa. Do get the feel of Goa and it's serenity in this place.

A beautiful cafe, great coffee and such serene surroundings I just fell in love with the place the moment I stepped in..it’s inside an art gallery which is actually an old heritage property located on a beautiful winding road atop a hill, simply a feast for eyes. Absolutely relaxing place which offers continental breakfast in a very lovely setup. The cafe is maintained very very well. The ambience, the decor, the atmosphere is calm and serene. When I visited this place what I missed was music. I have no idea if they play it or don't but it would be great if they do. The service was not upto the mark. Food was great. At a certain price tag I expect god service along with good food. Otherwise awesome place for a lazy cosy morning.

Bodega is a pretty courtyard cafe, situated away from the city in altinho! This place is very pretty and aesthetically pleasing, with greenary. Bodega serves one the best red velvet cupcakes in Goa. The perfect amount of sweetness, and their cakes have the perfect amount of moistness not to forget to cream cheese frosting which adds as a cherry on top! This was a great discovery! A pretty place in a peaceful location. Just makes you feel that you have crossed some time & space to reach this serene.<br/>The fragrance of fresh bakery just relieves you of your all tiredness of the journey.<br/>Talk about food? Pretty courtyard cafe hidden a little away from the city. Tried their different omelettes - ham and cheese, mushroom, cheese and chilli onion - all of them tasted good and came with toasted bread. Even hot chocolate tasted good. Love their ambience but they service is a tad bit slow. Good place to have breakfast on a slow sunday morning.

The other day I was looking for a quick dessert place around Panjim and I don't mean the factory mass produced stuff just some good wholesome dessert and Bodega is perfect for this. There just are a few cake options but everything is exquisite. The pecan can, cheesecake and even the red velvet cupcakes are all so good.<br/>It doesn't stop there the smoothies and the food too is so homely.<br/>Altinho is a beautiful peaceful area and this restaurant is in a wonderful Goan Portuguese house that is also an art galley.<br/>Just wish they were open a little earlier or at least on Sunday's as I think it's perfect for breakfast.

The chilled out place ever ,Cafe Bodega is situated in Panjim uphills .This place has a variety of catchy foods .Their cheesecake with strawberry and red velvet is what I have ,everytime I be there.Nad yes ofcourse do try their iced tea aswell..super friendly staff,vibrant ambience and lots of good vibes .

Cafe Bodega is probably the best place to go for a brunch in Panjim. Located inside the Sunaparanta Centre for Arts, the ambience at the cafe is cozy and peaceful. Seated around a small courtyard in a Portuguese style building, this place gives you the total feels :) Over the last 4 months, I have been here atleast a dozen times - sometimes in a big group where we spend hours eating, talking, drinking coffee; and sometimes on my own, eating, reading, writing, drinking coffee :) It is very easy to lose track of time here.<br/><br/>So what do I typically eat here?<br/>1. Turkish style poached eggs with chilli oil and greek yoghurt - This is my favourite dish here, and I have tried it both ways now - with and without prawns. I like the latter (the original version) more though.<br/>2. Beef and Eggs. OMG. Where do I start? Decadent combination of Beef, fried eggs and potatoes - can’t go wrong!<br/>3. Eggs Benedict on Waffles - although not the classic Eggs benny, I still love it. Their hollandaise sauce has a hint of mustard and I love it!<br/>4. Scrambled eggs with Smoked Salmon - a very light flavourful version of regular scrambled eggs<br/>5. Their monthly Mains - they usually change their mains every month, and I always end up loving these new dishes. Case in point - the Miso Butter chicken in Jasmine rice, I still dream about this dish! Or the Garlic Shrimps with Coconut rice. Or the Thai Eggplant with Jasmine rice. Sigh! They need to bring these dishes back!<br/>6. Vietnamese cold coffee - I have this EVERY time I come here. EVERY time.<br/>7. On days I’m not very hungry, I just have their Sourdough toast with butter and homemade jam. That jam is one of the best I’ve had and I usually end up calling for seconds.<br/><br/>This is a gorgeous place, with amazing food, great service and a pleasant ambience. Now, only if they agreed to stay open on Sundays!

I think this is one place that's a bit over hyped,the quiche was good but rest like smoked salmon was too over priced for the quatity,beef omelette was ok and berry smoothie was good apart from quiche.Overall not worth the 900 bucks bill that I foot, although the ambience was excellent,a historical Portuguese villa

I had Bogega Omelette which was stuffed with mushrooms, a kind of delicious treat.<br/><br/>It is located at Altinho Hill and is perfect for a romantic breakfast.<br/>

A perfect cafe for breakfasts/ brunch in the city. Been here recently and it is exactly what I was told about. Try out their classic breakfast along with brownies, the brownies are to die for. The cafe is situated in a colonial bungalow and has its own charm. The place is not open for dinner and that’s makes it even more exclusive for what they offer!

Always wanted to visit this place but it being a little off road from Panaji, never had the chance. But finally I did. <br/><br/>The ambience is so cute with the Portugese look. Went for a berry shake, latte, hot cappuccino, Mac and cheese, Quiche, red velvet cake and brownie. Everything tasted fresh and good. Just the man n cheese had less cheese and more mayonnaise.

Art gallery, courtyard, cafe - this is all of it and some. Lovely quaint little place atop a hill. Beautiful decor, calm surroundings. And the food is as clean and fresh as the surroundings. You just feel good! Carry a book and plant yourself there as you take a bite and sip some coffee. And make sure you pack yourself a little cupcake when you say goodbye.

We reached the cafe after some detour since google map shows a different location. Anyhow, we were not disappointed at all. The setup and ambience of the cafe was very cosy and welcoming. The open courtyard gives a combined feeling of sitting outdoor yet indoors. The menu offers a good variety for all day breakfast, though lunch options are limited. We tried Turkish poached eggs with prawns (5/5- never had eggs like this), Chocolate marinated chicken( it was a risky dish but didnt turn out so bad- 3.5/5), vegetarian Pizza( the base was perfect), beef and egg( 4/5) and a french toast (made to perfection). I ordered a black coffee with icecream, and for someone who likes black coffee this is the best cold beverage. Its a place where you could sit all day with a book in hand and delicious food of the table.

This has to be the best breakfast places in Panjim. The menu is so wide you'd end up feeling bad for not having a crazy appetite to eat them all. Peaceful atmosphere and friendly staff to make your visit pleasent.

Lovely place for breakfast or a small meal any time of the day. Located at altinho, you need to climb uphill to reach it. It looks charming and quaint and is quiet and peaceful. They have a good variety in eggs, smoothies, sandwiches, juices, waffles and pancakes, desserts and some mains. Everything is delicious too..we loved the special omelette, bagels and the Vietnamese coffee. The pancakes were good and the strawberry cheesecake was one of the best I have ever had. It is not too cheap, priced to the higher side but I would say worth it.

Well, in one word, if I have to describe this place, I will call it Refreshing!This place simply calms you down, with its amazing old-world-charm vibes! A perfect cafe', its menu is limited and comprises mainly of all day breakfast type items.<br/><br/>We ordered a cold coffee, which was amazingly frothy and thick! Loved it, and ordered another one and a hot chocolate, which was delicious too! :)<br/>Apart from that, we ordered a veg. black bean salad, which was pretty nice and had decent portion size. <br/>Next, we went for Grilled cheese Sourdough sandwich which was beautifully presented, but was okay in taste, was expecting something better there!<br/><br/>For the desserts, as they were looking so tempting, we ordered a portion of Fig & Walnut tart, which was very rich and delicious!Vegetarian options will be even more limited, so I'd suggest to visit this cafe to have small bites and to enjoy the look and feel of the place :)<br/><br/>The seating is limited , in an open courtyard like setting, in the midst of the surrounding art gallery! <br/>I'd say, visit this cafe when you are in Panaji, to grab a quick coffee/dessert and to enjoy the rejuvenating, vacation-like vibes the place exudes!

I have been hearing about Bodega for ages. Finally we went to this place. The ambience is proper cafe like. They have mostly all day breakfast. We tried out their falafel sandwich and grilled cheese sourdough bread sandwich. Which was good I will not say excellent. I have tried better. I must say that their freshly squeezed juices were great. Overall 3/5 experience.

An all time favourite, I always recommend this to anyone visiting Goa. The cafe is located in an old Portugese style bungalow and is located in the beautiful neighbourhood of Altinho. They serve some great sandwiches and desserts ! A good place to go with friends or even alone and have a cuppa or indulge in their freshly baked products. One can also enjoy the art that’s exhibited in the adjoining art gallery.

I was lucky enough to get their last batch of red velvet cupcakes for the day. <br/>Definitely a must visit, if you’re on a vacay.<br/>You might have some difficulty finding the place. Loved this place!!! It's truly a hidden gem, like literally!<br/>Very artsy kind of a place. Loved the interiors, the ambience & everything around it. And the food was truly heavenly.<br/>We tried many things on their menu - Goan Sausages, Pancakes, Pizzas, Sandwiches, Pastries, Smoothies, Thai food, Soups and much more.<br/>Their Goan Sausages are highly recommended! Just loved the flavours, absolutely perfect blend of spices. Thai style Eggplant with Jasmine Rice was one of the things I'd never forget. Pumpkin soup was just simply delicious. Loved their carrot cake and salted caramel almond cake.<br/>In short, whatever was ordered, was just fantastic.

As soon as you enter this place, you get a real nice vibe about it! It’s a place where you can spend an entire evening n still feel refreshed and not bored. I tried the cafe bodega( which is an iced americano with a coffee gelato) and I was a big fan it was out of the world!!!! To eat I ordered some pita with hummus and beetroot tatziki, the fresh pita n the hummus was to the point I think tatziki was alright... I read in a lot of reviews about the red velvet cupcakes din get to try it cos I wasn’t up for desserts but when I spoke to the guy who runs the space he told me that the actual thing they are pretty pleased with is the gluten free desserts. They definitely were very appealing and the next time I will definitely try the gluten free stuff.(there was salted caramel and chocolate cake and the carrot cake in the gluten free that grabbed my attention)

Worst place ever! Service was bad - the manager was horrible. This place is also not for digital nomads - if you ask for wifi password the manager asks you to order first. This is absolutely rude. I told him in will order in a while still he came to my table and asked me to order. this happened twice. Located inside an art studio it is almost hidden. We had a hard time finding it. But the food makes it worth the time spent looking (works up your appetite). The locals know it by the name cafe bodega, they return blank looks if you ask for cafe alfresco.<br/>A good breakfast menu. Especially good was their salmon bagel. They have some refreshing drinks to go with the food, you can ask them for recommendations (they know best what combination works). But do try their limonada it was unlike anything I ever had.<br/>Had a thoroughly fulfilling breakfast here can't wait to visit again.

Loved this place! It’s an artsy kind of place, mainly because it’s located in an art gallery/cultural centre called Sunaparanta. This cafe has a European touch to it. It looks like a house converted into the art gallery and cafe. The cafe is mainly centered around the courtyard in the house with both covered as well as open seating. You order at the counter and they bring your order to the table. I ordered a cream cheese bagel sandwich, pancakes, vegetarian sandwich, fresh orange juice, limonada and carrot cake. Everything tasted simply superb! The limonada was a salty and lemony drink topped with sweet lemon sorbet. It’s not blended so you can taste the drink and the sorbet separately. But the sweetness of the sorbet went well with the sourness of the drink. Service was quick. Overall, a place not to be missed when visiting Panjim.

Been always wanting to visit this cafe. Finally went in here today. I had red velvet cupcake. Trust me guys, their red velvet cupcake is to die for. I've never eaten a better red velvet cupcake than this one. They have toothsome pasteries and cupcakes. Will definitely pay another visit to this place again.

We had a Vietnamese coffee, a chocolate milkshake, orange juice and a latte. All these drinks were suuuuuper yum!<br/><br/>Then we had the roasted pumpkin sandwich, margarita pizza with mushroom peppers onion toppings and a cream cheese bagel. Everything was good but the pizza was amaaazzzziiinggggg.<br/><br/>For desserts we had a chocolate croissant, a vanilla cheesecake with strawberry and a pecan rum cake. I visited Cafe Bodega with my 2 year old. My experience wasn't as nice as I hoped it would be! The food isn't anything to write home about and the service was less than kind to a solo-traveling mother. (I had gone to retrieve my phone which I dropped on my way inside and left my baby carrier on the seat we were sitting on. When I got back, the guy at the counter came up to me and rudely urged me place my order right away - needless to say they fawned over the white revellers.). That said the location and ambience is nice and is the reason I give this place a three star rating- despite the uppity attitude and sub-standard food.

This is hands down the best cafe in Panjim. Good place to sit down, chill, sip on some juice and enjoy an amazing meal. Regular visitor when I was working in Goa and would surely visit this place everytime I'm in Goa.

Absolute delight to have a meal here especially on a rainy afternoon. The surreal serenity and purity of ambience adds to food flavor. Toasted bread with butter also felt extra ordinary special here. Menu is Continental. Would recommend cakes/cup cakes/ muffins

A calm and quiet place in the city of Panjim. The vibe of the place is awesome and is complimented by the great food served here. They keep changing their menu from time to time.<br/>I had ordered spinach quiche, cucumber cooler and pancakes.
