Review Cafe Ritz Restaurant And Bar - Panjim

This hidden gem is right in the heart of panjim. This original Ritz cafe sister to Ritz classic, is the best place for seafood. We ordered Mackrel Racheado, rava fried mussels, crab sukha and pav. It was a seafood Fiesta. The portion was quite good and the price was way less as compared to other restaurants in Goa. This restaurant is highly recommended, however its a bar and restaurant also seating area is less.

This is original Goan restaurant serving affordable food. I hope travellers visit this one. We tried King Fish Fry -Excellent Fish Thali - Just at 208 Rs it’s too good. Veg Biryani - It was fresh and delicious.

It is in Panaji and a small restaurant serving food for many years. Set your expectation before you visit this place. No fancy and posh setup, a normal and narrow inside where you can enjoy food and drinks. ###Food - 3,8/5, food quality is good. Ordered prawns & mutton briyani, prawns curry rice and chapati, Urak as a drink. good taste , didn't tried the thali. ##Pocket friendly: yes, in reasonable price you will get good tasty food ##Ambiance: 3/5 , visit this place if you have no frills. ##Over all: 4/5, i would recommend people to visit this place, even though a small joint but give a try in panjim.

Local gem of panjim ❤ Ditch the expensive fancy places and try this place!! Worth it I love this place for fish thali and rechado squids!! Pros - Value for money - Taste Amazing (a lil on the spicy side) - Fast Service usually within 10-15mins -Beers available (perfect for a hot sunny afternoon) -Open even post 3pm Cons - Small space so tends to get cramped up -Sometimes you got to wait to get a seat (especially at peek hours) -Smells a bit fishy (if you have a problem with fish smell then you might not enjoy this place) -No AC (eat like a local)

Keep your expectations outside the door, just open your experience senses open. Now... walk in. The crowd, strong smell, dinginess, poor seating all adds up for an experience that you can smile at and fold a page into memory. Ask for a spoon if you are not handy with using your hands to eat. Be prepared to be seated with a perfect stranger. Absorb her/his mood of the day. Oh yeah! The food. Well you get the same fish thali at about 250 other places in Goa but for experience...go for it

Cafe Ritz Restaurant and Bar, located in Panaji, Goa, is a delightful culinary destination that offers a memorable dining experience. I recently had the pleasure of visiting this establishment and I must say, it left a lasting impression. Upon entering the cafe, I was immediately struck by its warm and inviting ambiance. The interior decor was tastefully done, with a perfect blend of contemporary and rustic elements. The seating arrangements were comfortable and provided a relaxed atmosphere for patrons to enjoy their meals. The menu at Cafe Ritz is a true delight for food enthusiasts. It offers a diverse range of culinary options, including Goan, Indian, and international dishes. Whether you're a vegetarian or a non-vegetarian, there are ample choices to cater to everyone's preferences. The food was not only visually appealing but also bursting with flavors. Each dish was expertly prepared using fresh and high-quality ingredients, and the presentation was impressive. One of the standout aspects of my dining experience at Cafe Ritz was the impeccable service. The staff members were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were more than happy to provide recommendations and cater to any special dietary requirements. The promptness of the service added to the overall satisfaction of the visit. Another notable feature of Cafe Ritz is its well-stocked bar. The bar menu offers an extensive selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, mocktails, and a variety of spirits. The bartenders were skilled and crafted delicious drinks that perfectly complemented the meal. In terms of value for money, Cafe Ritz provides a reasonably priced dining experience given the quality of the food and service. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring that you leave the restaurant fully satisfied. Overall, I highly recommend Cafe Ritz Restaurant and Bar in Panaji, Goa. It is a fantastic culinary destination that offers a delightful dining experience. From the welcoming ambiance and delicious food to the attentive service, every aspect is thoughtfully executed. Whether you're a local resident or a visitor to Goa, Cafe Ritz is definitely worth a visit.

The best fish thali spot in Panjim. This place is a hidden gem and I would recommend it to everyone who wants to try the local fish thali in goa. Fish thali, chonak fry and rawa fry prawns are a must have here. Do visit and like this review if you enjoy the food.

Mostly crowded. Same taste what you get on other ritz classic restaurants. Rate also somewhat similar. Small space. This is the oldest cafe of ritz. Must visit.Good amount of parking space available for 2 wheelers. Table is small and thali is big to adjust for 4 people.

The Food is home made and tasty. Ambience is basic. But most importantly i would give 10 stars for the staffs loyalty.I had forgotten my purse at the restaurant the staff ensured they kept it safely and handed over to me as soon as I went back.

One of the best fish thali in the Panjim city😋🤩 They don't have any 'wow' ambiance but food taste is one their known for!! Very much popular for variety of seafood options 🍤🦞🐟 Prawns curry in the thali is superb, affordable kingfish thali, available for both lunch and dinner. Usually crowded.👍

One of the best Fish Thali places in Goa. Lunch portions for fish fry, curry along with vegetables were more than adequate. Price of the plate was very affordable and the meals prepared seemed quite hygienic. The ambience wasn't too great, so if someone is looking to have a quick sumptuous Goan Fish Thali and then make a dash, this place is for them.

This eatery, closely related to Cafe Ritz, is located in Panaji's bustling market area. However, it's worth noting that parking can be a challenge, as some charge for it. The food, on the other hand, is a delight - delicious and satisfying. The flavors are truly exceptional. The only downside is the high level of crowding, and the absence of a proper waiting system can lead to delays in service. Nevertheless, the outstanding Goan cuisine more than makes up for it. It's an excellent choice for authentic local food, despite the crowded setting and slower service.

Heavy crowded, cozy and very limited seating! Kind of rustic Goan place! Their Fish thali was good, Do try their dal fry and egg curry with rotis they were amazing. Service could’ve been better, your order may take 20-30min!

Cafe Ritz is a tiny restaurant in Panjim. There are small tables to accommodate 2,3 and 4 people. The Food is tasty and rotis piping hot fresh from the tava. We gobbled up 3 each along with the Chicken Xacuti gravy and rava fried prawns. Definitely a must visit if you are in the area. We will definitely visit again

I've been Ritz fan from last 5 years and I studied and work in Panjim. I have enjoyed the Fish thali always despite the overcrowding and crunch. I always found it to be an adventure to occupy seat in Cafe Ritz for Thali. However, in recent years, the dishes such as Amot Tik as well as the overall Fish thali has lost its charm. The authentic 'Goan' taste has faded away. Still, Cafe Ritz fish thali was among the best in Panjim. The price of Fish Thali, has moved from Rs 80 in 2015 to Rs 150 till July 2020. However, now its at Rs 180 per fish thali. This goes to level of "Ritz Classic" Patto, when it originally started. To be fair, prices of inputs and fish have gone up in Goa in last 5 years and restaurants need to pass on the burden to survive, but I feel Rs 180 fish thali in Cafe Ritz isnt justified given the feel and ambiance. May be the Cafe Ritz is focusing on tourist... but there are other options available at a lower price point.

This is a small area and very crowded. Not much space, but the food is amazing. The fish thali is the best. We also ordered mussels fry which was out of the world.

I went to Ritz Patto with my father today. Was totally disappointed with the food quality. We ordered two thaalis and one chonak rawa fry. Chonak was good the thaali wasn't that great. Rice was too less and curry was ok not like before . The kingfish in the thaali was not at all fresh. The crab xacuti was good. The kheer tasted more like water than milk. So we ordered The caramel pudding for desserts that was good. Service has always been good no doubt.
Food : 3/5
Service : 5/5
Ambience: 4/5

My experience was bad. I had fish thali with my friend. Went to pay the bill and i spilled some money out on the floor from my wallet. 2 of the waiters hided some money with their feet as if i didnt saw it.
Food was ok. So 2 stars for it

One of the best fish thalis in Goa. Fresh fish and a Goan fish curry made to the signature spicy goan style are the hallmarks of this thali. Complemented by crab gravy with kismur (dried prawn salad) and tisryo (clams), this fish curry rice thali definitely recreates the experience of the sumptuous and traditional Goan lunch.

Ordered for king fish tawa fry and rawa fry, also tried there promfet fish Thali. The food is just awesome and the traditional goan fish curry was also yum. Just truly indulge in the thin slice king fish rawa fry

This is "THE" very first & original branch of the now famous Ritz chain. If you are looking for authentic Goan fish cuisine look no further. This seemingly humble joint will surely surprise you with the huge variety of seafood. The simple looking Fish Thali itself is a big platter of joyful surprise. It offers generous portions of two kinds of fish and special crab cooked in the delicious gravy. To spice things up, one can order the fried king-fish.

It is the simplicity that has made Ritz to grow to become the big name it is now, and it all started with this small restaurant. It is almost always packed to full house. But the staff are courteous and highly professional at their task. All of these combined with the great food, makes it one of the best there is in Panaji.

If you are in Panjim, you ought to dine in cafe ritz!
quaint, tiny and brimming with hungry localites and tourists alike!
Their service is super fast as there are always some customers vying on your seat !
Take my word and go for the basic at this place
- sea food thali and prawns masala fry.

Sea food thali was mouthwateringly delicious and satsifying to the core. It had kingfish rawa fry, clams, rice, kokam saar, super delicious pompfret goan curry, some vegetable and clams.

The prawns masala fry were huge, succulent and delect.

Veg thali had mushrooms apart from the normal dal rice and vegetable.

What we ordered
Sea food thali
veg thali
Prawns masala fry

Ambiance - 3/5
Service - 5/5
Food - 5/5

Short Goa Food Review 001:

My visit to Panaji is incomplete until I have visited this place.... Reason being, cheap Sea Food that’s exactly how I like it to be.
I know it’s not one of the best but it is definitely the one that I am fond of because it has kind of become a tradition.

Fish Thali, Prawns Fry, Veg Thali, Chicken Thali....
They do serve Chapatis also which is optional. But still I stick to the rice plate.

It’s a tiny place, not as clean as one might want it to be. Service is super quick though, that’s because of the constantly incoming crowd.

After all... It’s about experiencing the local food and not about fine dine or food presentation or anything of similar relevance.

One of the best and cheapest place if u want to have freshest and tastiest Sea Food

Let me tell you locating this place was a task earlier, but now thanks to Zomato and Google maps it's easier to find this small little place..

Since this is a small restaurant if u are in a group it would be difficult to find a table as the tables are purely on basis of whoever finds a place vacant has to occupy the same, but if u are prepared to wait for a while then you might be able to get a table for your group..

Now comes the most important part FOOOOD, they serve lipsmackingly good sea food ,the fish that they serve here is absolutely fresh..Some of their best sellers are Tawa Surmai, Mushi( baby shark) Chili, prawns butter garlic, prawns Goan curry etc etc in fact what ever they offer is simply delicious..

Whenever I am in Goa, I might miss visiting a place or two but not this place..

Ambience - 2.5 - 3
Service - 5
Food - 5
Overall - 4.5

A Must Visit!!!!
A local suggested us to visit this place(And I'm glad he did). Being a bar and restaurant,I expected this place to be too shady but it isn't.Its a non AC narrow place.

I had:
Goan Fish Thali: Their best seller here. The fish served was fresh and delicious. I wish we got such a good fish thali even in Mumbai.

Squid:The masala of the squid was spicy and vibrant red. Worth trying.

Rava Prawns: The prawns was

Chicken Chilly: It wasnt spicy as such but had a good amount of chicken.

Lemon water: It was refreshing.

Service time is about 5 minutes. The staff is prompt.

Ditch the Classic and visit the Bar and Restaurant. Its light on the pocket and you'll also get to dine with the locals(Both men and women) here.
