Been wanting to go to this place since last last year, finally got to go this time and was totally worth it. Located on a colorful street in Panaji It's a very small old goan bar with wobbly tables, wooden stools, old rusty decor and amazing music. The place has a soul. We tried the mango chilli cocktail which is one of their specialities. Loveeeed itttt! We had ordered some chicken wings too, they were also quite good. It can be a perfect place for evening hangouts or a place to have endless conversations over some amazing drinks and that too in budget.

Cozy bar and the oldest bar. Seating is limited and it is very good. Have lot of options and ambience is awesome. I had visited twice here and felt really good. I have tried goa brewed bear and mango chilli with feny and felt in love with that.

One of the oldest bars in Goa. We visited this place in Sept 2023. The place is a small bar with very limited seating space. We had tried some beer and food. The food was ok. The place has a good ambiance and its mostly crowded on weekends.

Mr Gundu was the best part of this place. He was a kind and jovial.. The ambience and vibe at Joseph's Bar, makes you want to sit there forever..

Loved the food and the entire setup like a small shack and yet such good utilisation of space. Reminds of the college Street bakers. However, the service can be improved. There was a rice uncle who denied having any non alcoholic options even though we had placed our order with another staff member. They don't accept digital payments and don't give you a bill either.

Headed to this watering hole while visiting Fontainhas. Tried their signature drink, the kokum Feni cocktail. Go for the cazulo version. It's rustic, old world charm is well maintained. Worth a quick pitstop if you are in the area. 200 bucks for a cocktail.

A very unassuming place in Panjim. Those from the metros might miss this place for it comes with no-frills, a very ordinary-looking place, with a few tables inside and a few stools by the roadside, arranged in a mostly unarranged manner. This is where the locals of Goa are, this is also where those who have made Goa their home from all over the country and the world also gather. A must visit place in south goa…the vibe u will get is awesome. Here we have ordered Tambde Rosa and Mango chilli feni cocktail.

This is very famous and probably you might have to wait for the table here as it in demand and also because it's small local Goan bar. They provide selected items to eat here. You'll get mostly all types of drinks here. The vibe is very awesome, they play local music, people chit chat with each other, you can make new friends here, so this a very very happening bar here in Panaji. It's just inside the fontainhas. You can enjoy there. Evening is a total vibe here. Must visit at least once when you visit Goa.

⭐️ Joseph Bar is among the oldest bars in Goa and located in Fontainhas which preserves the strong Portuguese influence in architecture, culture, food and vibe! ✅ Chicken cafreal with poi bread. ✅ Tambda Rosa ( a cocktail of fenny, rose and kokum) This is the flagship #heritage place to be in #portuguese Goa: unforgettable experience. Thank you entire team behind Joseph Bar which makes it come to life since decades! . . . . . #FoodWeEat #food #foodblog #foodblogging #foodblogger #indianfood #indianfoodie #foodie #goafood #goafoodie #goafoodblogger #goafoodies #indianfoodbloggers #indianfoodblog #indianfoodblogger #indianfoodlovers #goadiaries #goatour #goa #Fontainhas #poi #feni #tambda #josephbar #oldbar #kokum #panjim #fenny

This bar has a different vibe. Good place for your keeping up your Instagram game. Just went there after lunch for a quick beer and some photos. The place was not crowded on a weekday afternoon. The lanes surrounding the bar are must to explore with beautiful houses, but the house owners are very arrogant and abusive and won't let you take pictures in front of their respective houses.

Typical Goan tavern based in the Latin quarters of the capital city of Goa: Panaji. Signature drinks are TAAMDE ROSA ( kokum feni cocktail) & MANGO CHILLI FENI

Ah Joseph’s! Mandatory place to visit if you enjoy the dive bar culture. Located in the fountainhas area, its a small no-nonsense spot with great crowd and service is spot on. Their bartender gundu is quite the character. They serve all the craft Indian gins and beers you could want. They also have snacks in the evenings. Would recommend you try the eight finger Eddie IPA if you’re a beer person or the greater than gin with some tonic water really hits the spot. Coming to snacks, it’s proper Goan local eats like prawn rissoles, samosas, croquettes and chorizo’s. Craving for the prawn rissoles while I type this.

Must-visit for that old bar vibe. A place that's truly alive. Great for a few drinks of Feni with Kokum and light, homely snacks, and lots of laughs and chatter.

I came across this place through a random article I was reading online. On a whim, I decided to visit it! So on a Tuesday afternoon, post a movie at IFFI (the film festival that I was attending), I went to Joseph’s Bar. Let me tell you, the pictures do not do justice to the kind of vibe this place has. It was empty when I reached, but after a while people started coming in. I believe their evenings are the most lively! Although I was there during the day, I could easily imagine the bar coming to life in the evening! While I sat there, I ordered Susegado Mango Craft Beer. I’m not much of a beer person, but since this sounded interesting, I ordered it. It tasted quite nice (and not as strong), and if you have a taste for beer, I think you’ll like it. They had an amazing song collection playing in the background. Overall, I would rate this place as 4.5!

Joseph bar is a quaint bar in the bylanes of Fontainhas. Frequented by both tourists and locals. The place is small though and a bit cramped. They have good variety of beer and feni cocktails. Pricing is high compared to Goan standards.

Joseph bar!
A drive in a roadside bar in fontainhas, amidst the old Portuguese colony is one of the oldest bars of goa. The whole setup will take you by awe as it emits typical goan feels! This old treasure will leave you with a nostalgic feel. I have tried the mango wheat craft beer by Sosegado, a little bland in taste but a good one for mild beer lovers. The bar is famous for its feni and is a must try here, although they serve a variety of beers!

A solid four for the aesthetics and the ambience. There was no food available at the time when I visited. I had a feni cocktail, listened to the music they were playing and left. Nice place.

What this bar lacks in size, it makes up for in atmosphere! Friendly bartenders, fantastic beer and great music. I will definitely revisit this place!

This is one the best place in Panjim. After intensive search on internet, found this place.
It's a very small place, completely lit.
Go there , meet locals and talk to them and call Gundu who will get you whatever you need.
That's a place just to chill and drink.
Food items are limited to chicken samosa and egg chop, which are must try.
Overall a very nice and relaxing experience.

This is a legendary small hole in the wall bar in the iconic Fontainhas area. It primarily has different beers and alcohol options in the menu along with some small bites. This is a great place for people who want to just relax and chill. Don’t expect to find food here. The old world charm of this place is something that will appeal to anyone.

Joseph has become a Goa institution in the last few years since it has been open. This hole in the wall have the vibe of a place that has been there forever but the truth is it is fairly new. We had some Feni, chicken samosa, egg chops and beef sliders and honestly I think it's the place and the vibe that makes everything you have here excellent rather than the other way around.

Your Goa experience is incomplete without a drink at Joseph!

If you are in Panjim, stop by this place for snacks and drinks. You will meet lots of interesting people and get to hear stories from them. You can sit outside if it's full inside, even better!

Joseph's Bar is this quaint little place nestled in a serene part of the city with the perfect ambience of a local Goan tavern. The hosts there make you feel right at home with their polite and gentle approach while making sure you leave the place satisfied with your drink for the night. Gundu, the bartender is an absolute delight to converse with and so are the locals who frequent this place.
Do not miss out on visiting this place! :)

This place is a total rip off.
Wouldn't recommend to anyone!
They charge 120 bucks for a 60 bucks Budweiser, for a place that doesn't even have adequate seating arrangements. (Check Image)
Crampy place. Never going here again.
Also, the guy at the counter doesn't know to deal with customers.
It's not the place you post selfies of or check in to. It's not the place you come to when you want molecular cocktails or the latest innovation in gimmickry. What it is, is the very definition of a hole - in - the - wall pub. It's not loud, there's no pounding music, no huge faux-industrial ducting to show you how hardcore they are, or fifteen different flavours of hookah or crispy honey chilli chicken or nachos on the menu. It's just two small rooms, the smell of smoke, eclectic stuff on the walls which isn't wannabe enough to call decor, and good beer. Great beer, in fact..

Please don't go to this place if you're the typical Delhi boy or the typical Mumbaikar. In fact, spare it from your presence if you're the typical anything. Go to some other pub. You'll spoil Joseph for those who can truly appreciate what a rarity this uncut little gem is.

I left with a glow in my heart.

Although, that might just have been the beer.

After hearing a lot about this place I finally managed to visit Joseph's over this week for a couple of drinks.
This is a tiny place in the heart of Fontainhas.
One has to basically order the drinks on the counter and come sit outside in one of the corners. TBH, I found this place pretty much hyped! There's barely any music, barely any place to sit on top of that, it's hot outside.

Coming to the food and service, the staff is very courteous, I tried their chicken samosas and I couldn't stop myself from ordering more of them.

Rating : 3/5

This place has your heart on your first visit. One of the local favorites and best place to have urrak in this season. They make some amazing cocktails with urrak and otherwise. A tavern in it's own way, also serves local snacks that one must definitely try. Do not miss the chicken samosa.

To feel the vibe and energy of Goa this is where you should be.

Don’t judge this place by its size! This is a pretty bar in the inner lanes of panjim. The place is always chirpy and flooded with people and hence you are definitely going to meet some super interesting locals there

Beer menu here will leave you wanting to come back soon as they mostly serve local brewed beers However, the beer is little pricy here.. but there is much more on see and order basis

If you are in goa and want to try feni, then is the place to tick it off your wish list 😉
