Review Hogworth Bar & Restaurant - Panjim

Splendid dining experience! What a lovely place. Very rarely have I chanced upon a restaurant which I shall travel miles to go back to! And most of it thanks to the owner Mr. Pinto. What an amazing host he is! We dropped in at this small restaurant on our way to Dona Paula, thanks to rave reviews on google and we were not the least disappointed. Located snugly away from the hustle of the main road, this place is cozy and nicely kept. The walls had empty spaces which we were told were for local artists to display their artwork. Mr. Pinto himself attended our table since we were the only customers after another one finished their meal and left. Being tourists at Goa, we were interested to try the local cuisine but were not sure what to try and where to do so. Mr. Pinto patiently guided us through the entire menu, with detailed descriptions of how each dish is prepared and what to expect from them. We followed his recommendations and had a meal worth remembering for a lifetime. Do do try the beef tongue and their special dessert items. I will definitely recommend this place and will surely go back if I am even near Goa again.

A great place to hangout. Quality food and the best service in goa. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. A must visit place in goa if you want to try authentic goan cuisine. Reasonable pricing and portions are good. Best restaurant I've visited in goa yet.

A very cozy joint with authentic Goan cuisine available. Food was very tasty with great flavours. The Prawn Butter Garlic Fry and the Beef Roulade were Awesome!! The other dishes were fabulous too. Surely try the Serradurra and Bolo Sans Rival. They are so heavenly tasty and yummy that it keeps you wanting more and more. Also, the staff were very courteous too with the owner suggesting us great dishes and taking care of all our requests.... A must try place for all!!

After reading great reviews went there today for lunch. Ordered for bangs fry, chicken cafreal and pav. The bangda wasn't fresh, it was frozen for many days. So was the chicken, it was only stale but also not well cooked. I could see red colour once u open up. the chicken peice . We told the owner abt the staleness and all he had to say was that he was sorry but we were made pay in full for the food which was not fresh. I have been exploring all.the places in panjim which to taste authentic goan and decided to visit this place but it was such a bummer. No wonder it was absolutely empty on Sunday afternoon

A decent place to dine at with decent ambiance. They have an outdoor as well as an indoor seating.

Goan cuisine is what you will find in their menu but I decided to try out some of their non Goan dishes and they were lip smacking.

Must try dishes are as follows :
1)Chicken Cafreal
Price : 210 INR
Rating : 4.5/5

2)Kerela chicken
Price : 200 INR
Rating : 4.5/5

3)Bolo sans rival
-Bolo Sans Rival is a traditional Goan Dessert made of Roasted Powdered cashew nuts, powdered sugar, egg white, and layered with butter icing.
Price : 90 INR
Rating : 4.5/5

4)Chicken jalfrezi with lachha paratha
Price : 180 INR and 30 INR
Rating : 4/5

5)Chicken ching pong
Price : 190 INR
Rating : 4/5

Their fish portions depends on the catch. So please ask them for the size before ordering(kingfish / Chonak rava fry, masala fry) the same. They charge around 200 per portion which sometimes serves only one person.

They make their own Lachha paratha so it takes a while for them to prepare this, but the wait is all worth it.

Other dishes I have tried are :
1) Squids batter fry
Price : 320 INR
Ratings : 3.8/5

2) Serradura
Price : 90 INR
Ratings : 3.5/5

3) King fish masala
Price : 200 INR
Ratings : 3/5

4) Chonak rava fry
Price : 200 INR
Ratings : 3.3/5

The only restaurant in town serving these goan desserts : Bolo sans rival, serradura(they make their serradura with no added gelatine and egg) and Vonn(godshe)

Usually not crowded in the afternoon. If you are in Miramar and looking for a restaurant at a reasonable price point for a small get together than this is the one for you. Closed on Tuesdays

This is a nice restaurant to spend time with your loved ones. It's less crowded and quite place. Good food at reasonable prices. Quick service and friendly staff. Nice ambience too.

A tiny little restaurant in the bylanes of Panaji. One visit is all it took me to make this place my new favourite in town. Even though the name is inspired by Harry Pitter, there is no resemblance that the place has with the theme but you can definitely HOG on all that food which will bew WORTH your money.

We tried bangdo rawa fry, Chicken Lollipop, Crispy Chicken, Chicken Cafreal with bread and Serradura. We loved everything single thing that eased served. Not too many people know about this place as yet and hence not too crowded. The service was quick and the staff was friend. I highly recommend this place. I am definitely planning my second visit soon.

A while ago, a picture of the board of the venue in question was posted on Twitter, by a friend who was just as intrigued by the name as I was. The tagline of the place is even better, ‘Hog Worth: where you hog worth your money’. Now, a place called ‘Hog Worth’ is enticing enough to get anyone’s attention, but when the logo adds to the place with the official Hogwarts logo from Harry Potter being edited to incorporate food elements, things get even more interesting. It's a typically Goan, no frills kind of place. Is ‘Hog Worth’ worth a visit? Without a doubt. It will leave your wallets girth rivalling only that of your rapidly expanding waistline.

Randomly visited this place and I am quite impressed with the food. The place is conveniently located. We had rawa fried squids, fresh and nicely cooked .Chicken Ching Pong (I think) which was chicken pieces , capsicum, mushrooms and onions on skewers dipped in batter and fried. Had a great taste though. We also had Kerala chicken which was no less. A bit on the spicier end but drool worthy. Ching pong being the better among the 2.

Chicken Cafreal is my go to dish and it didn't fail me here. Lipsmackingly tasty . In sweets we had Serradura, which wasn't that good. I've had better at most places but the star dish had to be the bolo sans rival. It was heavenly! Do not miss this one. It's a cashew nut based cake and there are only a few people in Goa making it. Though it's expensive (duh it's cashew nuts) it's worth every penny you spend on it.

The ambiance at is place is average, I didn't like the lighting or the sitting much . Service is good.

Easily one of the nicest places to chill out in Goa if you are one of those who prefer less crowd around you. Situated in the heart of the city makes it convenient for the visitors. Serves authentic Serradura and Beer at a great price!

Clean place and great music make for a lovely ambience. The owner is friendly and will sort you out with delish recos if you can't figure what you want to have. Beef Roulado is the winner for me. Totally worth it. Order it without thinking twice. Try their Prawn wrapped in papad, quite good. Don't miss their Bolo Sans Rival...its their in-house dessert specialty and a slice of cashew heaven. All in all, Never miss this place for anything.
