Review Horse Shoe - Panjim

Amazing place! A true Gem in Goa where you can find authentic Goan Portuguese cuisine in its traditional taste. The owner is really kind and puts in a lot of effort to get the best quality dishes and to your table. Unlike the overhyped restaurants in Goa. This place is very quiet and less crowded. The food flavours are subtle and not overpowering with extreme spice. If you like spicy food this place may not be for you but if you like to taste the proper flavours of the fish/meat with minimum spices but a lot of flavours then visit here. The best dish we had was the salted tongue and the clams cooked in white wine sauce. All of the dishes tasted excellent and won't make you feel tired and heavy. A must visit in Panjim for true food lovers who will understand the palate.

I had dinner here alone and I was a bit scared to feel weird being alone but the man of the staff was so nice and talked to me and made me feel at home. I had canapés and bacalao with butter and they were so good! So please come and support these non touristic restaurants where the food has quality and they have the passion for the service and quality

Very warm and friendly host who is the chef himself As we got the menu from the waiter the chef asked us about our preferences and suggested us some dishes which we would enjoy. Went with the Fish Butter and Garlic which I thoroughly enjoyed...I don't usually order fish but I'm definitely glad I did. The beef steak was well done and much enjoyed too. Will definitely visit again when in Panjim

One of the best place I have been in Panjim for Goan and Portuguese cuisine. All the food we ordered was delicately prepared to perfection. The ambience and the themed music makes you feel you are in a different country. The service is very quick. The food is reasonably priced. Definitely recommend this place if you want to try some Goan and Portuguese cuisine.

Divine food. Come here for a soul and senses exhilarating experience. We have been coming to Goa for 20 years and as foodies have explored so many goan eateries over the years. Horseshoe stands out for so many reasons. Its distinct portuguese influences, its ability to please diverse palates whether you are a spice lover or non spice lover. Its attention to fresh catch and quality of seafood and meat. For eg we have had clams in many places but the ones here are meatier, fuller and bigger. The clams in white wine sauce is a must try even if you are not into clams. I loved the beef steak. The thoughtful addition of an egg fry on top, simple as it is just elevates the dish. The prawns chilly fry..so so good we just had to order two plates. Everything else was good too be it the chonak goan fish curry and rice, beef roast More left to try for another visit. In the desert section you have to try the serradura. The best in Goa. Mum in law demanded a second plate!! They have published a cookbook if you are adventurous to attempt some of these dishes at home.

This quaint little place in Panjim serves the most authentic pork vindaloo and prawn balchao you can ever have. Take it from a vindaloo lover. Mr. Vasco is the chef and the owner and he himself cooks in the kitchen to ensure the taste and the quality. He has been cooking for good 30 years and I can assure that his food certainly reflects his experience. Once you walk in to the restaurant you get a feel of vintage Goa and that definitely sets the tone for what is coming next. Do not miss out on the vintage photographs and the Portuguese football flags on the bar wall. If you are a lover of authentic local cuisine, then this place is a must visit for you. I have been going to this place ever since I discovered it and the food here has never failed to impress me.

Dropped into this place accidentally, it turned out to be one of the finest experience in goa. The Food is soo wonderful and authentic unlike the other food joints around. The dishes are prepared by the chef himself Mr Vasco which gave a personal touch to our dining experience.

This place is a hidden gem of Goa. The food tastes like home, cooked in a Portuguese-Goan kitchen, by your favourite uncle. In the city where every restaurant fights to get the attention with lights and music, this place meets you like an unassuming stranger who puts a smile on your face. The food is only prepared when it is ordered so, sit back enjoy the music. The food is worth the wait. Cheers to Chef Vasco Silveria.
