Review The Mumbai Canteen - Panjim

Foodies in Mog
A small and decent place for quick munchies. Seating is very limited. We ordered - Schezwan vada pav: Would recommend this mumbai speciality. It had cheese layer in it. - Dabeli: It was okayish. Was bit spicy. - Grilled Maggi cheese sandwich: Must try. This is 3 layer sandwich with 1 spicy layer of Maggi and 1 layer of veggies. - Masala tea: Must try. Chai lovers should definitely order this. Service was quick. Prices are reasonable.

The The Mumbai Canteen, has got delicious vegetarian snacks from the streets of Mumbai to Goa. The small cafe located in the heart of Panjim is famous for its Masala Chai(Tea) and yummy snacks. From chaat and kanda poha to cheese pav bhaji, the place does full justice to Mumbai snacks. And the best part is that it is a pure veg cafe and it will amaze to see so many tasty options in veg food. Here's a sneak peek for you! They are also very quick in their service.

Was craving for a good veg sandwich this morning and that led me to The Mumbai canteen. Have been here before couple of times and the food never disappoints. I opted for a masala chai and veg grilled sandwich which was pretty good and a light breakfast for me. I recommend buying a takeaway as the seating space is less. Overall it is a pretty decent place if you are searching for pocket friendly place to have some light snacks. Another point to note, they serve only vegetarian food.

Good place for quick bites. They serve all the best street foods without being on the street... Samosa sandwich is really nice... Only concern is they dont have much sitting capacity..

i had ordered the bhel combo along with an aalo paratha.
quantity was good but hey! who supplies nimboo paani (it had no sugar, which i did not expect) in a plastic bag with just a rubber band packaging?? that's disastrous!
Then comes a plastic glass for nimboo paani which is too small for the quantity .
Aalo Paratha either had no salt, or too less of it.
Sandwich came without a sauce packet.
I paid 301/- for the above order. Very disappointing! :(

Ambience -1/5
Taste-3. 5/5
Presentation-4/5
Overall 4/5
So I was hungry and I happened to go this place. It has various long list of options.. However I had cravings for dabeli.. And it was of justifiable taste to money I paid.

Next I ordered is schezwan cheese sandwich which was okay because there were not much veggies in it, only potato n onion, certainly couldn't feel the Taste of schezwan, however the amount of cheese was like yummmmmmmhhhhhhh...

Earlier to this I had ordered veg momos from the same store and they were pretty good

More to try with this restaurant, however if u are in panjim and want to grab some snacks.. This would be the best restaurant.

Please note sitting capacity is very less hence prefer carry out or order from swiggy

Landmark for reaching here would be vishal mega mart.

This place serves variety of Indian snacks at reasonable prices. Tried their dabeli grilled cheese sandwich, Tawa pav bhaji and masala Chai. Dabeli cheese sandwich stole my heart at first the bite. It was perfectly soft in the inside and crisp on the outside. Filled with smashed potatoes, chutney, pomegranate, peanuts, shev and more, this was a heart stealer. Tawa pav bhaji and Chai was also quite good. It a small place and can't accommodate much people but the staff is really friendly and kind towards the customers. Highly recommend dabeli cheese sandwich❤️

When in Goa, I really miss the street food in Mumbai - they are such guilty pleasures! On my visit to Mumbai Canteen in Panjim, I tried 3-4 of their items namely:
Vada Pao - because a place selling Mumbai street food HAS to excel at the quintessential Vada Pao! Safe to say, it was not only as good as the one in Mumbai, but even better - thanks to the wonderfully toasted pav.
Aloo Bomb - A Mumbai Canteen signature dish (and not really Mumbai street food), this was my favourite of all that I tried. A boiled potato scooped out and stuffed with onions, tomato, chutneys, cheese and topped with sev! Super delicious, especially if you love potatoes and cheese like I do.
Mumbai Canteen Special Sandwich - Super heavy, this is a meal in itself. Its so filling that you will definitely have to share. A massive 3-layer sandwich filled with veggies, cheese and french fries! So satisfying!

Lastly, their Masala Chai is a MUST-HAVE for chai lovers! A perfect mix of spices, piping hot and just enough milk and sugar!
Mumbai Canteen is a small eatery that can accommodate 6-8 people, but the food is hygienic, affordable and just perfect for those mid-day cravings, evening snacks or late-night binge. Definitely returning to try more from the extensive menu.

It's a small joint located near the Don Bosco petrol pump. The ambience is good if your looking for quick bite or even a parcel as such. We ordered the Sev puri, chilly cheese paratha and TMCmaggie
The Sev puri was okay nothing to rave about but the plate they served it I was a pan shaped plate so it was kinda weird to hold and munch the chaat.
Chilly cheese paratha was good. The accompaniments i.e dahi and pickle were fresh. They charge 100 bucks wish for this wish the paratha was bit thicker for price they charge.
TMC Maggie was good as well. Topped up with cheese and mixture peppers was something different.
Do visit this place if you love chaats and quick bites like sandwiches and stuff.
P.s they do serve Jain munchies has well.

This is a small eatery near Don Bosco petrol pump. I went there just because the Mumbaikar in me was fascinated with the name. There is nothing fancy about the place, very simply done. There are 2-3 benches and 2 stools used as tables. There is a counter at the far end where a quick meal is fixed.

They menu offered is quite simple. It's all about Mumbai street food. They serve sandwich, vada pav, maggie, Momos, french fries, tea-coffee and coolers.
I went for the vada pav, it's a snack on which the rich and poor of Mumbai binge on equally. The vada pav here was average. There was green and red chutney with the batata vada in between a pav that was grilled.
The only thing I found missing was that no non veg items were on the menu..
Overall a good place for a quick and pocket friendly bite. The service is quick.

Food:3/5
Service: 4/5
Ambiance: 3/5
