Amazing food, good taste and bixe service from the team. Tooti fruti was very nice and a specialty at this place.

Known for South Indian food. Food is very good and service is also quick and couteous. Decor and atmosphere can be more vibrant. It has high patronage and is buzzing with guest most of the time. Its located inside Maurya Lok shopping complex, easy to reach and ample paid parking available. On the whole can be enjoyable experience with family and friends.

Decent & hygienic place Tasty & quality food Well dressed and behaved staffs Located at the first floor in Maurya Lok Complex which may be affecting customer reach but it’s a well known Vegetarian restaurant in the locality. Would recommend the place.. If you are near by Maurya Lok must visit the restaurant.

To my surprise the food was really commendable. Service people though old in age but very courteous and humble. It felt very nice.

This is my absolute favourite restaurant for South Indian Dishes. Quite old and known for their quality food. Price is also affordable and located at the centre of city. However they can think of rennovation to tap more young customers. Overall recommended.

Food is awesome. My favourite is butter rava masala dosa and butter paper masala dosa and idli. 2 idli is sufficient for one person. The look of the restaurant is very retro type and no modifications in the interior since my childhood. The aac is always very chilled. Good parking in MauryaLok. Remains always full during weekends and festivals. Service is very fast.

The food here was good and presentation also good. I saw majority of person we're eating dosa. I didn't try it. But I took aloo Punjabi ,palak matar. All was very good . The price is little on higher side but ok as per location. Staff is also friendly. I recommend it .

After 10 years I visited this place and I orders the same thing special masala dosa and cold coffee with ice-cream. I loved the taste of cold coffee ith ice-cream, but to be very frank I did not get vivacious for that I wanted to deduct half 🌟 but Google didn't allow for that. I visited to Patna and stayed near income tax office. While searching for an authentic desi khana on nearby, people suggested to Basant Vihar restaurant. Which is located in a commercial complex near income tax office. The food was really good and service time was also very short. This average cost restaurant also have professional staff. Loved it..!!

An old yet thriving restaurant in MauryaLok Patna. The food as always is amazing and very affordable. Service staff are very welcoming and friendly. More than food, it's a place for Patna folks to visit the memory lane and remember old days. Most of the patna have changed but not Vasant Vihar. Hope it keep serving forever.

Good place to have delicious masla dosa in patna. This restaurant is situated in Maurya lok complex near Dank Bunglow Chowk. The part of restaurants which is situated at the first floor serves dosa and south india foods and ground floor's part is for North Indian food. You can try masala dosa, cheese masala dosa, paper dosa and chhola bhatura.

This is good kind of family restaurant where you can go normally, yas sometimes this is little bit crowd.... Otherwise wise this is very nice to go there with family and kids 😀

Undoubtedly the best place in Patna to have South Indian food!! I have been eating here since my childhood and have tried almost everything on the menu - from chinese to desserts. But the South Indian dishes are definitely a standout - especially the onion rava masala dosa - my favourite. The special masala dosa comes with an additional "chutney" which is considerably nice. Veg cutlets are also delectable.

It's a disgrace. <br/>So, we went for family dinner and going by the good rating of 4.4 over here, we decided on this place. We ordered onion masala dosa, paneer masala dosa, butter onion masala dosa and special masala dosa and Chole bhature. The stuffing inside each of the dosa was the same which was plain flavorless mashed potato with raw onion cut up in onion masala dosa and few raw paneer pieces in paneer masala dosa. We tried to complain about the same and the manager was very rude to us.<br/>Basant Vihar is supposedly running successfully for past 36 years as highlighted by the arrogant manager of the restaurant when we tried to complain about the bad quality dosa served to us. That is the quality of service you should expect from this restaurant and their food.<br/>Being a food lover, I've had south Indian food in North India and south India itself this was the worst dosa I've had to suffer through. Also, we had ordered fried idli which was served just like that. Without any sambar and chutney. And the sambar served with the dosa was disgusting. <br/>To sum it up, this whole experience was a disaster. It ruined our family dinner. I think it's offensive to south Indian food to call it authentic. Any roadside stall would have been better and made better dosa than this place did. Totally horrible!

Don't go according to rating,arrogant staff d management, worst south Indian food i ever had,basically its not south indian,its offending south indian cuisine.In every dosa they just serve boiled potato without taste,even they serve in paneer dosa potatoes and two raw paneer pieces .Even roadside dosa is better than this. The ground floor serves the casual north Indian food and Chinese food whereas the upper floor is the crown jewel of this establishment serving amazing delicious south Indian food.<br/><br/>Probably only place in the city to serve authentic south Indian dosa with over 80-90 varieties of dosa to choose from. Basant Vihar serves these south Indian cuisines with complimentary chutney and sambhar which is delicious and leave you carving for more. You should try some their steamed idli and utpams for sure.<br/><br/>While the top floor rules, the ground floor is not behind. Serving delicious vegetarian dishes and Indian breads. While the entire establishment is vegetarian you will not feel like missing out meat from your meal.<br/><br/>A must try for anyone in the city and visiting it !

Vasant Vihar, Maury's Lok Complex, Patna is one of the oldest restaurants for South Indian Dishes in Patna but of late the quality of it's dishes has deteriorated (sometimes providing spurious stuff) and the personnel has become more arrogant with least or no concern for the customer's satisfaction/complaint...

We went to this place today. While we were almost finishing our starters, one customer entered the restaurant and told everyone eating there that the food ordered by him fron the restaurant had plastic in it...yes plastic!!! He even showed us cabbage pieces made of plastics. The restaurant staff did not even protest and were meekly standing in a corner. It was obvious they were caught red handed. These scoundrels can go to any extent to earn petty money. They have no qualms that they are serving food items containing materials which can be dangerous to people's health. Utterly sad and disappointed that people can stoop so low just to earn a few bucks more.

Ordered for special masala dosa . The food was tasty but the dosa was not crispy and there was no chutney with it. It was also a little bit cold and I got the food after 1 hr.

We ordered paneer Marsala dosa, Masala dosa, pepper Masala dosa and butter Masala dosa. And what we got was just boiled Potatoes fried in black Rai in name of masala inside all varieties of dosa. Yes in name of paneer Masala dosa 3 small pieces of paneer in that boiled potatoes.<br/>We were shocked and highly disappointed. They are just showcasing names in their menu but serving same thing in all varieties that too with only boiled potatoes.<br/>The price was also was very high, for four people we paid 700. All went in vein.<br/><br/>They really are not taking their business seriously that's why serving such a below average food. Haldiram could have been better option. At least for Dosa never ever go.

Was high....<br/>I can understand that that may be a mistake but it's a big concern about your kitchen and your Cook's eye conditions....<br/>Conclusion is that ! they don't have proper kitchen, Cook and may be lighting condition because if there were proper lighting then than cockroach must be seen the by the Cook.<br/>Harilal's is best substitute try them....

Earlier like 10 years back this was not just a place but a legend in itself, even now after so many good emerging restaurants, it has not lost that much of charm. The food here has all together different taste in a good way, only that the salt is less and dishes are more on sweeter side.<br/>Personally i like Paneer butter masala from this place.

Was searching for best south Indian restro and found this one.Waited for about 15 -20 mins after booking table. Ordered butter masala dosa and vegetable uttapam and found that food arrived quickly.Liked the humble and polite nature of staffs ,ambience was not too good ,but food was too tasty and delightful which forcibly made me to rate ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐<br/>Now mostly i order through zomato ,they pack very nicely and provide their best ! We had gone to this place for breakfast. We had ordered paneer dosa, onion dosa, chocolate shake and coffee shake. The chocolate shake had no sugar which was replaced by the staff. Paneer dosa hardly had 4-5 small cubes mixed with potato masala. None of the dosas were crispy. Moving on to hygeine part, the washroom was so dirty that it was impossible to use.

I had ordered one butter masala dosa & one Edly from basant vihar. It was accepted. A valet, Randhir was assigned, he picked up the order, was informed that it would be delivered very soon. When it wt not delivered for a considerable time, I tried to find out. The order had been cancelled, I was imposed a fine of the Bill amount for cancellation. Reason Randhir could not contact me on phone, he informed someone, who cancelled the order & cancellation charge was imposed on me.<br/>I was asked to pay for something which is did not receive nor I cancelled.<br/>In any business, customer is king. You can't charge for something which you didn't deliver.<br/>Please look into & change, make it customer friendly. Only then, you can survive. With best wishes.<br/><br/>

I can only say one thing, if you cannot deliver fresh food. Please don't hesitate to deny orders. Today I ordered masala dosa and Paper Masala Dosa. Both was just ok ok type, not what was expected from your restaurant but the worst was sambhar, I can definitely say it was not freshly prepared, must be leftover of your morning preparation. There was no aroma in sambhar and not a single piece of vegetable was there in sambhar. Absolutely disgusting.

The authentic flavour of Dosa can't be found anywhere other than this place. The Dosa here has a very unique and mesmerizing taste. Have visited this place many a times, also have ordered online and the cheese dosa contains more cheese than you get in a pizza, and the paneer dosa and Chutney are of A++ quality. Rare this place will disappoint you by its food. The price you pay is completely reasonably. Restaurant has humble staffing from last 12-14 years.

The restaurant provided two small vada for Rs100 . I could have got a dosa in that price. Other big restaurants like sagar ratna give atleast 5 times in volume for similar price.

I've been visiting this place since I was a kid and this place is still the same in terms of food and staff. I'll always recommend this place if you're a vegetarian this place won't disappoint you if you're in search of a good veg restaurant. Ambience is just okay and fine for family gatherings not too great but not bad also.

First time I had lunch here with my fiancée. So hard to forget this place. 😍.. Though dint like taste much. Most worst part was they don't accept cards. Mere fiance ke to chehare pe 12 baj gaye the 😂
