I would say good experience. I ordered chef SPL kebab which was very juicy ,spicy and full of flavours and for main course I ordered kadai chicken full and two butter naans as for naan it was quite average but the kadai chicken was awesome ..over all good experience good food
I ordered Rojali Kabeb, amristari fish and barwan
paneer tikka, cheese capsicum parata and Punjabi kukud masala from Kake DA perungudi. It was amazing. Food just melted in my mouth, especially starters. It was really amazing, Especially starters. Would definitely recommend to my friends! Had a great food after along time. Thanks to Kake!
Have been to this place with colleagues a couple of times since its near office. Its a tiny cozy space with good punjabi food. The prices are a bit elevated and quantity is less but overall it decent place for a nice lunch. Although I hated the desserts especially malai kulfi and gulabjamun.
This is one of our favourite places to order. Went here with family recently and had a great experience.
Initially, we had some trouble communicating with the waiters for a change of seats but once we settled, the service was prompt and courteous. We ordered Hot and sour soup, masala chaaz ( which was served in a beer bottle), Ajwaini Fish, Prawns, Bara chicken, Mutton seekh kabab for starters. The portion sizes were decent, taste and quality was top knotch. For mains we ordered Laccha paratha, paneer butter masala and mutton biryani and again the quality and taste was really good. Ordered Gulab jamun for desert which was average.
Overall this is an authentic punjabi restaurant, run efficiently by people dedicated to providing value for money. Would definitely recommend.
It's a very unique place in chennai to hangout
The service was so good
The Amritsari fish was top notch
Rabdi light and creamy
Definitely recommend !!! Definitely do try out
Last week me and my wife visited this dhaba themed restaurant for lunch. The staff were friendly and made us sit on a comfortable sofa besides a spacious table. We went for prawn and chicken tikka as starters which were tasty and adequate in quantity. Then as a main course, we ordered laal maas and garlic naan. The key point here is that the taste is genuinely from the northern India with all the ingredients applied in them. The only concern was jal jeera which I felt could have been better. Overall my recommendation is for all the foodies who crave for punjabi cusine, to definitely give this restaurant a try. PS: You can't park on the road opposite to the restaurant, so suggest that please park in the lanes opposite to the main
We went to Kake Da punjabi Dhaba for my daughter's birthday. I loved the ambience and the food was awesome. The staffs who served the food were so friendly and polite. Overall we enjoyed our dinner night and it was great experience. I recommend this restaurant to others who love to have a great Punjabi food.
Veg thali is the best North Indian thali I have ever had in chennai so far.
Visited as a guest in the KAKE DA PUNJABI DHABA RESTUARANT for lunch.we were entertaing friends from kolkata and enjoyed our Punjabi theme music..food are too mouth watering and awesome.we chose to stay indoor to enjoy the Punjabi music I just want to say that a delightful waitress #LALL_PARI she had just the right balance of friendliness and efficiently she recognised that we wants time to visit and did not rush us .she and other staff members made certain that we had everything we needed kudos
I was planning to meet my friend near RMZ and he suggested this place for meeting and dinner. This place is easy to locate. Near RMZ building 2. Parking is an issue, I managed in paid visitors parking near RMZ 2 visitor's entrance.
Ambiance is good with dhaba style seating and normal one. We opted the former one. Perfect for hangout. Service was good. They were attentive throughout. Food ordered came in reasonable time.
Menu was good with decent varieties to try. We ordered Dahi kebab, Garlic naan, pudhina paratha, methi paratha, Veg zalfrezi, Masala chaas and Rabdi. Tastewise everything is good though Small fine tuning required here and there. Rabdi was of top notch. Buttermilk was better than expected. Veg zalfrezi was slightly oily and my friend felt bit spicy though spice level is okay for me. Dahi kebab which was unique in menu didn't disappoint us. Overall satisfying experience ๐
Pricing is reasonable. Value for money ๐ฐ. Going to revisit for sure.
Been here for dinner with 3 other friends. Good food, I would say. I especially liked the "Afghani Chicken" a lot among the starters. It's a Punjab themed restaurant, they make you sit in those "khatiyas" which is nice. Price and ambiance is decent.
Overall, Food: 4.5/5, Ambiance: 4/5, Value for money: 4/5
Food and Ambiance of this place is nice..though rates are little pricy.Their Kadhai Paneer,Paneer butter masala are superb.Veg Biryani and Dal Makhni is good as well.
Rotis are okeyish..some maida mixing is done..which should not happen.Little oily stuff but I like the food over here.
Visited this place for a late night dinner. Ambience is good. Service is good. We tried honey chilly potatoes and dragon chicken. Both were great.
Taste : 4.5/5
Service : 4.5/5
Ambience : 4.5/5
Price : 4/5
1 out of 3 pannir biryanis was little cool not much spicy. Remaining 2 are good. veg Starters are good. Chutney and raita served with biryani are good
Best authentic Punjabi food in Chennai#awesome ambience#lovely music#friendly staff#mouth watering taste..must visit place to food lovers in Chennai.
Been here for a small lunch. Ordered Paneer Kadhai along with the butter naans. Here, they give 3 small sized pieces for each each naan. Although the curry was full plate, it barely was enough for 3 people. Tbh, the taste was good but the quantity and the price were no where related.
A great place for trying tasty and spicy North Indian cuisine... Price is also fine, not too high but affordable... Punjabi lassi and Kulfi are worth trying!
I visited this place for a team lunch and really enjoyed my time here. The food was delish and being a small restaurant they manage the crowd pretty well. I really loved the tandoori starters, dal makhani and mango lassi. Overall a good place to try out north indian delicacies. Recommended.

Ambience was awesome and a typical dhaba experience. Food was great specially the laal maas and murgh dhaba style. A place to go with your friends and family.
I wish I could put few more stars.. superb food.. chicken patiyala and paneer patiyala and raabdi must try ..
Awesome job
Bijay n gopal awesome service guys the way u were managing the crowd was appreciable..
Maza aa gaya yarr
The interiors give an authentic dhaba feeling, and the cost is also reasonable but what actually won my heart is the taste of the North Indian food. There are very few places in Chennai that offer you North Indian food with authentic North Indian flavours and all the small details like serving "Sirke wala piyaaz" and green chutney and Paratha that's made out of atta instead of maida.
Good Ambience and tasty food. But crowdy on weekends. But rest superb. From service to quality. Try North Indian Starters. Tastes flavourful
The reason not to give another one star is I felt uncomfortable when I seated. The ambience was good but the air wasn't made me comfy to eat. Its kind of messy nd conjusted.
Coming to the food, I ordered for paneer tikka, half tandoori and a butter naan.
The first comes the panner tikka. Omg. Where in the earth they make that kind of panner? I loved the softness and how juciy the panner was. It's creamy, I should add.
Then the tandoor was extraordinary. I loved the every piece of it. And the butter naan was also very soft and so much of butter in it. I loved all the dishes.
Worth paying for the food.
Had one of the best North Indian dishes over here ..the theme was quite dark but well decorated and the wall paintings were very attractive. I really liked the seating as it was similar to dhabba
The staffs were so polite and the food was very good..we ordered garlic naan with butter chicken which was very good and I really liked their rabbdi
Worth visiting this place
You will love the food served on your plate. I have visited the place many times and tried different dishes, every time I came out satisfied. No matter what you eat vegetarian, non vegetarian, Tandoori, authentic Punjabi food. They make it best. Highly recommended to satisfy your Punjabi food cravings. Severs are polite, helps you select a dish if you are confused.
P.S - Views are strictly personal on that particular day n time, Nothing to do with anything/anyone else
I didn't expect to find Sarso da Saag here in the south but was pleasantly surprised last night. The quantity of saag was plenty for two people while malai kofta was sweet and authentic. Overall, I liked the two dishes and look forward to check out more from their menu next time.
I was searching for authentic North Indian flavour and this place just nailed it...A must try for all North Indian food lovers....will continue going. Loved it๐

Kake Da Punjabi Dhabba is a funky casual dining restaurant whose interiors beautifully revive the flavours of the North. The cost-effective menu of the restaurant serves authentic North Indian and Chinese delicacies. True to its name, Kake Da Punjabi Dhabba provides you with the exact โdhabbaโ feel. It is colourful and has cane chairs and charpoys for seating. The restaurant caters to the varied taste and preferences of its diners.
On a fine Saturday night me along with my friends set course to try out some of their signature dishes and we were ready to enjoy the North Indian and Chinese style foods.
We ordered for dishes like Hot & Sour Soup, Bhindi Fry, Bara Chicken, Banjara
Kebab, Achari Paneer Tikka, Malai Methi Paneer, Chicken Patyala, Curd Rice, Tandoori Paratta and Butter & Garlic Naan.
* Presentation:
Aroma and the dish presentation were very refreshing and the dishes looked absolutely mouth watering. The dishes kind of sets us to good mood. The dishes were presented in such a way that it showcased us how skilled the chef was and the efforts Chef and his team has put in to make the dishes stand out.
* Taste:
When comes to taste I loved all the dishes.
1. Hot & Sour Soup , the soup was very spicy and was tasting really good. The pepper flavour was nice.
2. Bhindi Fry, it was very crispy and the masala was very well stuffed.
3. Bara Chicken, it was really good and juicy. The chicken was cooked so well and were soft inside.
4. Banjara Chicken, the way the chicken handled was very good and it was cooked well. The masala used for Banjara chicken was spicy and was really a treat to the tongue.
5. Achari Paneer Tikka, the way the Panner was treated is very gud, it was very soft inside and crispy outside. Not so spicy and it was very well prepared.
6. Malai Amethi Paneer, the gravy was very tasty and the Paneer was cooked very well. It had the real punjabi flavours.
7. Chicken Patyala, it was very buttery we could see the gravy covered with butter on top of the dish when it arrived, the chicken was so tender and was cooked so good. It had an egg omelette and it was also so good.
8. Tandoori Paratta, Butter & Garlic Naan, the breads were so soft and prepared with so much of precision.
9. Last but the least Curd rice, for some reasons my friends are in love with the Curd rice I am not sure why but from their expression I could totally feel that they enjoy eating it.
* Texture
The cooking process was good and the way the dishes were treated is very appreciable. All the dishes looked and tasted delicious.
The restaurant had some beautiful interior design and things that portrait the dhabba culture which is so awesome. Staffs were very polite and the food service was really good.
Over all I am so happy that I get to eat the above dishes and I would recommend all to try it out.
Ordered achari chicken tikka, butter naan and butter chicken. One of the best places to eat North Indian at pocket friendly rates. Been there a lot of times.
Had come to this place with my colleagues for dinner. Excellent food, beautiful ambiance, dishes served on time, and the prices are affordable. Keep it up!๐๐ผ
It's really very good, every item is really good that they serve. Service given is better than other #vijay ... It's decoration is really really good people enjoy lot..
Authentic North Indian taste and nice interior.
Service is also very nice. Vijay was very apt in helping with menus.
Wide choices of menus and amazing taste. Must visit.

Great food, Daniel from the restaurant suggested the best and specialities from the menu๐ please go and try!! We tried the banjara kabab which was amazing in taste
Taste and quality of food at best levels..with very warm hospitality.
Bijay one of best guys over there, makes sure u r fly comfortable! ๐
We decided to treat our tounge with different varieties of cuisines . This our first pick in the lot.
The place surprised us with awesomely decorated and well designed Ambience. Though the place is not very big in size, it can accommodate 30 people easily.
Coming to the food.....
We ordered mutton biriyani and all types of rotis and a chicken gravy. Except missi roti all the other rotis were very soft and inviting.
Special mention to mutton biriyani and the mirchi chicken gravy. Those were luscious.
On the whole the best ever punjabi food I had.

The food was good and the services were also nice..yogesh's service was nice...
The ambiance is awesome....u must try murgh Punjabi it's very yummy...
The restaurant ambience is amazing, rates are nominal and the service was great....was absolutely memorial great place to hangout with friends and partner. Don't forget to have the authentic Punjabi experience.... ... Service by mr.yogesh was great
Excellent ambience and food was great . Especially chicken Biryani was awesome and worth for money. Good service by Yogesh.
Would love to come back soon ๐๐
Had been to Kake da Punjabi Dhabba for lunch. Pretty good ambience and excellent service. A tad higher than nominal pricing but the food is very good. Would recommend if you like North Indian food.
One of the best punjabi cuisines. Yet another dhaba opened by the punjabi restaurant chains "PIND". I been to pind a lot of times and i am a big lover of punjabi food. Kake da punjabi satisfied my food cravings after a long time. Be it tikka masala/punjabi paneer, the pieces were succulent amd soft. The taste of the gravy was so yummy!! The lassi shot combo was an awesome combo experience of all the lassis. Must mention, the person who served me these delicious food Mr.Vijay was very polite and patient to answer my doubts. Being a northie, it was really nice that he spoke in tamil for me to understand. Food, service, ambience altogether VFM!!!
This place is lit . Everything be it ambience food and service . Everything was amazing. The malai paneer tikka is a must try . The food is mouth watering and finger licking good . Highly recommended for all punjabi food lovers in Chennai.
One of the best restaurants in Chennai. The food is so authentic and the staffs are so well mannered and friendly. A special note about Mr Sajan who greeted and treated us really well. We were really happy about the overall experience in terms of food, ambience and the service.
Yogesh is an excellent staff here, amazing and quick and friendly service! Must visit! And not too forget lip smacking good food. Please visit if you need good punjabi food at reasonable prices!
Nice Service done by @Yogesh.. Good place to have team dinner.. We ordered steam rice.. Tastes very good and the service done by Mr. Yogesh was very good..
Good and fast service with quality food. Guys try here u will enjoy delicious food. It was amazing experience. Kake da Punjabi is decorated with full innovative ideas... I loved it ๐๐๐
Right next to Office, this place offers good very similar to pind and is owned by the same group that owns pind. Very good and soft paneer, their food is not spicy to my Hyderabadi palate but creamy and recommendable.
Ordered food for my work place had an amazing experience with the food. Food was amazing. Non veg Thali was very good. Looking fwd for even Happier experience with the food.
Good Place.Good Food. Good Ambience. Quantity in Main Courses was less. But the taste was amazing and that Chicken Tandoori yum yum. Keep it Up.
Had a relaxed Monday lunch on the base floor.
Lighting could be improved slightly, although it does go well with the ambience, which reflects a Punjabi dhaba with a rural feel, especially the cutlery.
For starters, we ordered Dahi Kebab.
Main course, a variety of indian breads: Garlic naan, Missi roti, Makki di roti.
Sides, we took Shahi Paneer and Paneer makhani.
And Chaach to get an all round experience, which came in pint-sized bottles, a nice touch.
All dishes and beverage were excellent, and quite sufficient for a 4 person group.
The hospitality was good, but the wait time was long, even accounting lunchtime crowd. This is one place where the restaurant can improve, you don't want to give guests the sights&smell of a dhaba and make them wait long to gorge on food.
Pricing was at norm, allows for occasional revisit.
I had ordered butter roti and kadai paneer... food quality and quantity was excellent. The only drawback i felt was, butter roti was not cooked properly. Must try place for punjabi food!
Update on my review: went their for dinner... orders: paneer tikka, chicken tikka, garlic naan, paneer butter masala, and mutton briyani... all the dishes where packed with flavors, juicy and tasty. A must visit place, services was good.

Delicious food at reasonable rate. Afghani babycorn is must try item who do not like spicy items. Students may even get complimentary items on prior booking. Daniel gave us an option for dining in dhaba (a small room with khaat and table to give you feeling of dhaba) which was a new experience for us in Chennai. The courteous behavior of staff members and delicious food made me to give full rating.
If you are working in Perungudi, highly likely that you have visited this place at least once. Used to be a small joint but has grown big now. Gets crowded during peak lunch and dinner times because of the presence of nearby corporate crowd. Ambience is that of a Punjabi Dhaba and service is decent. Expect disruptions in service during peak hours. Itโs just too many people wanting to gorge on Punjabi food. The restaurant serves both vegetarian and meat. I have had thalis, starters, main course etc. and find the taste to be really good ๐. Strongly recommend.
A very nice place .. dishes are really tasty especially rabdi is awesome ..also the lassi has good a good authentic taste..then some starters are awesome .
Good place. Tasty food and nice ambience. Service time could be little faster but the service was really nice. Daniel was very courteous. On the whole, nice place to visit if you are in this locality
Taste is amazing .Service was pretty good, polite staff .Food is worth what you pay. You should definately wind up supper with special lassi ,it's worth it. I Have been here thrice and trust me it was never a disappointment .

Good food and friendly staff. Very quick service for sat evening...decent food at decent prices. They need to ensure staff are aware of foods which contain egg as most of the dishes eggs are used for the preparation and we had a member in the group who was egg allergic.
Food is good and nice ambient..! nice place to enjoy wth frnds ..i will prefer to go wth 6 members ..! reasonable price for food and serviceis good as perfect at eve time.,
Good experience who wants to try truly Punjabi food best place this is, don't miss the experience
Amazing North Indian food. Very suited for a group of friends or a family of upto 6-8 people. The staff is friendly and offers good service. The food is too good, must try- cheese naan, mutton rogan josh, and malai chicken. They have variety of naans, kulchas and North indian based currys. For desert, rabdi lassi should be go to choice
When we are meeting a friend after long and we get a warm place to eat talk and enjoy, this place just ticks all the requirements of food ambience taste quality quick service and a very warm host Divya.I had a dinner here with my friend and loved this Punjabi food in Chennai. My favourite was the tandoori prawn, Reshmi chicken kabab and pot kulfi, we also tried their paneer tikka and it was delicious. Definitely recommended for family and friend outings if you are looking for North Indian ๐
Both veg and non veg items are very well prepared.
Breads (Naan, kulcha, Paratha) are properly cooked and stuffed. Quality is good.
Rice (jeera rice was a little oily but the taste was very good)
Biriyani (chicken is very well cooked with dry rice)
Prawn masala (fresh prawns and thick flavourful gravy which can be consumed with both rice or bread).
Must try: Chicken Tandoori (very juicy, flavourful and well cooked chicken and the green chutney is also superb).
Slightly sad with the butter chicken (only 3 pieces) and Afghani fish tikka (not very flavourful).
The overall taste is very good.
Wait time is also less.
The price is around 400 to 600 per person depending on how you eat.
One of the best punjabi restaurants in kandanchavadi - We used to visit here for lunch or dinner and I must say they offered great food. There afghan chicken is one the best - very creamy and cooked so well.
Prices are good. Ambiance is also very good.
The food tasted good but was too costly for the quantity they served. The ambience was good and you can come with friends. The authentic punjabi taste wasnt present though but still a good treat of North food here.
Starters -
Masala Pappad for the prep time.
Sheek Kebab came quite quickly - was decent.
1/2 Tandoori chicken was spicy & 1/2 Afghani Chicken was a bit too sweet for my taste.
For the main meal we had Aloo & Goni paratha & a butter naan to go with sarasson ka saag & Dal Makhani.
Sarasson ka swag was exquisite, the breads were good. Dal makhani was CCC average
Must mention was the masala chaaz @ 99/-
Service was pleasant n efficient
Good meal for two for 1650/-
Amazing food (North indian and Punjabi Dishes). The food is too good must try Fish fingers, Tandoori, Fish tikka, Prawn Biriayni and Cheese naan and lot of Punjabi dishes. Good place to go with team lunch and friends. Must try mutka kulfi. Lovely Ambience as well.
Good place to go for punjabi food. Traditional punjabi dishes are tasty and spicy. Good ambience, decorated with uniqe furniture and decors. Could sense some judgement from the manager when we didn't order starters, apart from that it was a good experience.
I went for dinner with my team for the team dinner... It's amazing moments ๐ฅ๐ซโ๏ธ
We ate naan, butter chicken and one more dry item everything was good but we tried a new gravy which was served burnt but they replaced it once we notified them after a long conversation cause they didn't know English and we didn't know Hindi

Tried vegetarian options here turned out great. Tried harabara kabab, cheeseballs, baby corn delight, kaju paneer, punjabi paneer, dal makhani, roti basket, mojitos snd lassi. All were perfect.
Expected dal makhani to be black- brown but it was yellow red but taste is okay but not authentic.
It's lip smacking north indian restaurant food was really good, as I am North Indian so tried only north dishes.
Ordered Butter Naan, Tandoori roti, Garlic Naan with 1. Punjabi kukkad Masala and 2. Veg Banjara all was good to fill our cravings for dinner.
But quantity was little less but it's can be compromise because we are getting that good taste with affordable price.
Don't know about Biryani and other foods but must try north indian here.
