Amazing North Indian food. Very suited for a group of friends or a family of upto 6-8 people. The staff is friendly and offers good service. The food is too good, must try- cheese naan, mutton rogan josh, and malai chicken. They have variety of naans, kulchas and North indian based currys. For desert, rabdi lassi should be go to choice

When we are meeting a friend after long and we get a warm place to eat talk and enjoy, this place just ticks all the requirements of food ambience taste quality quick service and a very warm host Divya.I had a dinner here with my friend and loved this Punjabi food in Chennai. My favourite was the tandoori prawn, Reshmi chicken kabab and pot kulfi, we also tried their paneer tikka and it was delicious. Definitely recommended for family and friend outings if you are looking for North Indian 👍

Both veg and non veg items are very well prepared. Breads (Naan, kulcha, Paratha) are properly cooked and stuffed. Quality is good. Rice (jeera rice was a little oily but the taste was very good) Biriyani (chicken is very well cooked with dry rice) Prawn masala (fresh prawns and thick flavourful gravy which can be consumed with both rice or bread). Must try: Chicken Tandoori (very juicy, flavourful and well cooked chicken and the green chutney is also superb). Slightly sad with the butter chicken (only 3 pieces) and Afghani fish tikka (not very flavourful). The overall taste is very good. Wait time is also less. The price is around 400 to 600 per person depending on how you eat.

One of the best punjabi restaurants in kandanchavadi - We used to visit here for lunch or dinner and I must say they offered great food. There afghan chicken is one the best - very creamy and cooked so well. Prices are good. Ambiance is also very good.

The food tasted good but was too costly for the quantity they served. The ambience was good and you can come with friends. The authentic punjabi taste wasnt present though but still a good treat of North food here.

Starters - Masala Pappad for the prep time. Sheek Kebab came quite quickly - was decent. 1/2 Tandoori chicken was spicy & 1/2 Afghani Chicken was a bit too sweet for my taste. For the main meal we had Aloo & Goni paratha & a butter naan to go with sarasson ka saag & Dal Makhani. Sarasson ka swag was exquisite, the breads were good. Dal makhani was CCC average Must mention was the masala chaaz @ 99/- Service was pleasant n efficient Good meal for two for 1650/-

Good place to go for punjabi food. Traditional punjabi dishes are tasty and spicy. Good ambience, decorated with uniqe furniture and decors. Could sense some judgement from the manager when we didn't order starters, apart from that it was a good experience.

We ate naan, butter chicken and one more dry item everything was good but we tried a new gravy which was served burnt but they replaced it once we notified them after a long conversation cause they didn't know English and we didn't know Hindi

Tried vegetarian options here turned out great. Tried harabara kabab, cheeseballs, baby corn delight, kaju paneer, punjabi paneer, dal makhani, roti basket, mojitos snd lassi. All were perfect. Expected dal makhani to be black- brown but it was yellow red but taste is okay but not authentic.

It's lip smacking north indian restaurant food was really good, as I am North Indian so tried only north dishes. Ordered Butter Naan, Tandoori roti, Garlic Naan with 1. Punjabi kukkad Masala and 2. Veg Banjara all was good to fill our cravings for dinner. But quantity was little less but it's can be compromise because we are getting that good taste with affordable price. I would say good experience. I ordered chef SPL kebab which was very juicy ,spicy and full of flavours and for main course I ordered kadai chicken full and two butter naans as for naan it was quite average but the kadai chicken was awesome ..over all good experience good food

Here are few experience from this-<br/>1) PLAIN NAAN was delivered but it is mentioned BUTTER NAAN in order.<br/>2) BROWNIE is mentioned in order but was NOT THERE. I ordered dal makhni combo with butter chicken ,3 garlic naan ,1 cheese naan but when the order came it was all wrong instead of dal makhni they gave me mash potato gravy ,instead of brownie they gave me 2rs gulab jamun which we get in small tea shop ,naan was not cooked ,cheese was not at all there .Their naan is expensive but what about good quality food .When I talk to the manager he said he will deliver it again and asked me to send the location which I did but after that no response.The main thing is when we trust so much and want to make our family happy they betray us .

Have been to this place with colleagues a couple of times since its near office. Its a tiny cozy space with good punjabi food. The prices are a bit elevated and quantity is less but overall it decent place for a nice lunch. Although I hated the desserts especially malai kulfi and gulabjamun.

This is one of our favourite places to order. Went here with family recently and had a great experience.<br/><br/>Initially, we had some trouble communicating with the waiters for a change of seats but once we settled, the service was prompt and courteous. We ordered Hot and sour soup, masala chaaz ( which was served in a beer bottle), Ajwaini Fish, Prawns, Bara chicken, Mutton seekh kabab for starters. The portion sizes were decent, taste and quality was top knotch. For mains we ordered Laccha paratha, paneer butter masala and mutton biryani and again the quality and taste was really good. Ordered Gulab jamun for desert which was average.<br/><br/>Overall this is an authentic punjabi restaurant, run efficiently by people dedicated to providing value for money. Last week me and my wife visited this dhaba themed restaurant for lunch. The staff were friendly and made us sit on a comfortable sofa besides a spacious table. We went for prawn and chicken tikka as starters which were tasty and adequate in quantity. Then as a main course, we ordered laal maas and garlic naan. The key point here is that the taste is genuinely from the northern India with all the ingredients applied in them. The only concern was jal jeera which I felt could have been better. Overall my recommendation is for all the foodies who crave for punjabi cusine, to definitely give this restaurant a try. PS: You can't park on the road opposite to the restaurant, so suggest that please park in the lanes opposite to the main

We went to Kake Da punjabi Dhaba for my daughter's birthday. I loved the ambience and the food was awesome. The staffs who served the food were so friendly and polite. Overall we enjoyed our dinner night and it was great experience. I recommend this restaurant to others who love to have a great Punjabi food.

Actually, I ordered veg thali at first and was so delighted. Hence order for the second time and then I felt blessed and thought I can check my thirst for good food in Chennai but when I ordered for the third time, it literally was a disaster. All the dishes are smelly and rice is not cooked properly, Rotis are really too bad it made me sick. The best part is serving Jamun along with it and it's my favorite but this time that too hasn't entice me. Oh my God!<br/><br/>Hope 🙏 the restaurant would look into and do take necessary steps to serve us better food

Veg thali is the best North Indian thali I have ever had in chennai so far.

Had just Rotis, One Chicken Tikka Masala, One Chicken Briyani, One Lassi and One Kulfi and the bill amount was Rs.1002. Too costly and not worth for the money.

The place has a good ambience but takes way too long to deliver stuff. Their service is very poor and food isn't exactly great. It's good but could be a lot better. Their spices in dishes are always in the extremes with it either being really spicy or super bland. They don't even listen to half the orders you place even if they repeat the order initially. Then they cancel the other half due to unavailability. The pricing isn't exactly ideal for their service quality.

Visited as a guest in the KAKE DA PUNJABI DHABA RESTUARANT for lunch.we were entertaing friends from kolkata and enjoyed our Punjabi theme music..food are too mouth watering and awesome.we chose to stay indoor to enjoy the Punjabi music I just want to say that a delightful waitress #LALL_PARI she had just the right balance of friendliness and efficiently she recognised that we wants time to visit and did not rush us .she and other staff members made certain that we had everything we needed kudos

I was planning to meet my friend near RMZ and he suggested this place for meeting and dinner. This place is easy to locate. Near RMZ building 2. Parking is an issue, I managed in paid visitors parking near RMZ 2 visitor's entrance.<br/><br/>Ambiance is good with dhaba style seating and normal one. We opted the former one. Perfect for hangout. Service was good. They were attentive throughout. Food ordered came in reasonable time.<br/><br/>Menu was good with decent varieties to try. We ordered Dahi kebab, Garlic naan, pudhina paratha, methi paratha, Veg zalfrezi, Masala chaas and Rabdi. Tastewise everything is good though Small fine tuning required here and there. Rabdi was of top notch. Buttermilk was better than expected. Veg zalfrezi was slightly oily and my friend felt bit spicy though spice level is okay for me. Dahi kebab which was unique in menu didn't disappoint us. Overall satisfying experience 😊<br/><br/>Pricing is reasonable. Value for money 💰. Going to revisit for sure.

Food was average here. The service was below par. The staff were not attentive at all. We had to keep reminding them our requirements. The food was served in very limited portions and frankly not worth the money. The ambience was decent. It does not provide you the authentic punjabi feel or the flavours. I doubt a second time visit mainly because of the low value for money.

Okay. I'm hoping I caught this restaurant on a bad day. Or Chennai's taste buds are dying a slow cruel death. Ordered a butter chicken and some garlic naans. The butter chicken had that infamously mediocre taste that all these 'authentic' Punjabi restaurants are known for. The Garlic naan was so inspiringly bad that I genuinely feel like opening a mediocre restaurant next to an IT park cus I know now that people are going to eat whatever I throw at them anyway.

Been here for a small lunch. Ordered Paneer Kadhai along with the butter naans. Here, they give 3 small sized pieces for each each naan. Although the curry was full plate, it barely was enough for 3 people. Tbh, the taste was good but the quantity and the price were no where related.

A great place for trying tasty and spicy North Indian cuisine... Price is also fine, not too high but affordable... Punjabi lassi and Kulfi are worth trying!

This is purely a Punjabi themed place located near RMZ MILLENIA CAMPUS, Kandhanchavadi..<br/>Their interiors are really nice and in par with their theme.<br/>We ordered Schezwan Noodles and Veg Thali.<br/>What struck me in their noodles was it was light , not oily and that was a hit for me. Though not onto the standards of Chinese ones, it was decent.<br/>Veg thali it had naan, roti,Subzi Biryani and gulab jamun.<br/>They had 3 different Subzis and I really liked the paneer one. Vegetable Subzi was decent. But the Biryani and jamun was drool worthy!<br/><br/>I would have totally given 4 stars, but their service was real bad. They forgot that Biryani and jamun comes with the thali and when we asked for it they said no, it doesnt come, and after sometime they realised it and brought it.<br/>If they work on their service, I'm sure this place can go heights, considering their price, quantity.<br/>

Didnot like service. The food was good in taste but the service is slower than a sloth. I went there for a team lunch, we knew from facts that the waiting on food time is way too long here, so we preordered 24 hours prior and even called them 1 hour earlier to be ready with whatever order was placed. But to surprise nothing actually was ready. There was no point of preordering as we had to wait anyway for our food (almost like a normal order) I asked a few staff about the situation of things getting delayed even if it was preordered, one of them was really rude. I tried calling the manager to ask about the delay and hussle (who greeted me half n hour back and went upstairs to have a check on the order) and he never received my call, didn't even come down and disappeared in thin air. Very dissatisfied and disappointed

Don't ever come to this place. This place is filled with *roaches* and puts forward an unpleasant environment. I wonder what quality of food they maintain.

The interiors give an authentic dhaba feeling, and the cost is also reasonable but what actually won my heart is the taste of the North Indian food. There are very few places in Chennai that offer you North Indian food with authentic North Indian flavours and all the small details like serving "Sirke wala piyaaz" and green chutney and Paratha that's made out of atta instead of maida.

The reason not to give another one star is I felt uncomfortable when I seated. The ambience was good but the air wasn't made me comfy to eat. I didn't expect to find Sarso da Saag here in the south but was pleasantly surprised last night. The quantity of saag was plenty for two people while malai kofta was sweet and authentic. Overall, I liked the two dishes and look forward to check out more from their menu next time.

Chicken Patyala, it was very buttery we could see the gravy covered with butter on top of the dish when it arrived, the chicken was so tender and was cooked so good. It had an egg omelette and it was also so good.<br/>8. Tandoori Paratta, Butter & Garlic Naan, the breads were so soft and prepared with so much of precision. <br/>9. Last but the least Curd rice, for some reasons my friends are in love with the Curd rice I am not sure why but from their expression I could totally feel that they enjoy eating it.<br/><br/>* Texture <br/>The cooking process was good and the way the dishes were treated is very appreciable. All the dishes looked and tasted delicious.<br/><br/>The restaurant had some beautiful interior design and things that portrait the dhabba culture which is so awesome. We decided to treat our tounge with different varieties of cuisines . This our first pick in the lot.<br/><br/>The place surprised us with awesomely decorated and well designed Ambience. Though the place is not very big in size, it can accommodate 30 people easily.<br/><br/>Coming to the food.....<br/><br/>We ordered mutton biriyani and all types of rotis and a chicken gravy. Except missi roti all the other rotis were very soft and inviting.<br/><br/>Special mention to mutton biriyani and the mirchi chicken gravy. Those were luscious.<br/><br/>On the whole the best ever punjabi food I had.<br/><br/>

Had been to Kake da Punjabi Dhabba for lunch. Pretty good ambience and excellent service. A tad higher than nominal pricing but the food is very good. Would recommend if you like North Indian food.

One of the best punjabi cuisines. Yet another dhaba opened by the punjabi restaurant chains "PIND". I been to pind a lot of times and i am a big lover of punjabi food. Kake da punjabi satisfied my food cravings after a long time. Be it tikka masala/punjabi paneer, the pieces were succulent amd soft. The taste of the gravy was so yummy!! The lassi shot combo was an awesome combo experience of all the lassis. Must mention, the person who served me these delicious food Mr.Vijay was very polite and patient to answer my doubts. Being a northie, it was really nice that he spoke in tamil for me to understand. Food,service,ambience altogether VFM!!!

Visited this place before 2 weeks on a weekday. The restaurant was not maintained . The plates and tumblers were covers with dust . They took so much time to serve . We ordered hariyali panner Tikka and achari mushroom for starters. The panneer was good and mushroom part was a bit oily. was very oily. We ordered Punjabi panneer masala, naan, paratha, garlic naan for main course. The paneer masala was so sweet, the bread were hard . For desert we had butter milk, rabdi with ice cream but the quantity is less.

One of the best restaurants in Chennai. The food is so authentic and the staffs are so well mannered and friendly. A special note about Mr Sajan who greeted and treated us really well. We were really happy about the overall experience in terms of food, ambience and the service.

Yogesh is an excellent staff here, amazing and quick and friendly service! Must visit! And not too forget lip smacking good food. Please visit if you need good punjabi food at reasonable prices!

I always loved the food here but lately it's not up to the mark. The tandoor Gobi still had the raw masala. Naan was over cooked and not soft. More importantly when I visited lucky da, a few meters away from Kake da and both serve the same food, owned by same, About 3 yrs ago, when they were new, the staff was very courteous and eager to know your feedback.<br/>Today I was utterly disappointed when one of the staff wanted to clear our plate just because we were talking and not eating. FYI there was still enough food in the plate and my hands were on the plate. Plus it wasn't crowded that he wanted us to leave early.<br/>On mentioning this to the manager, he just nods and doesn't say a word.<br/>Learn to Be a Lil more polite and train your staff accordingly about table manners .<br/>Thank you

Visited this place with a bunch of friends on a weekday for lunch. The restaurant was soo poorly maintained. The plates and tumblers kept on the table were literally covered with a layer of dust, they replaced those plates when we complained to the waiters there. The ppl in the restaurant actually work in slow motion. Whatever we asked for took Soo much time . We ordered hariyali panner Tikka, masala papad and achari mushroom for starters. The panneer was good but the achari mushroom was too oily. We ordered Punjabi panneer masala, dhal makhani, naan, paratha, garlic naan and kulcha for main course. The paneer masala was too sweet, the bread were hard and oily. The dhal makhani was the only life saver. For desert we had butter milk, rabdi with ice cream and kulfi. The desserts tasted good but the quantity was very less for the price we paid.

Right next to Office, this place offers good very similar to pind and is owned by the same group that owns pind. Very good and soft paneer, their food is not spicy to my Hyderabadi palate but creamy and recommendable.

Ordered food for my work place had an amazing experience with the food. Food was amazing. Non veg Thali was very good. Looking fwd for even Happier experience with the food.

Went here considering the high rating and because the place we were going to originally was closed. The decor inside is quite nice. They serve water in large tea shop kettles which was cool. Coming to the food, the amritsari fish was delicious but it wasn't amritsari fish which is a dish I've had in amritsar. We were shocked that our half plate malai kofta had just ONE tiny kofta in it! I mean guys! That should be unacceptable. And the gravy was very meh. Then we had laal maas, which wasn't laal maas as it should be, it was just a generic mutton curry whereas laal maas is a specialty from rajasthan. The gravy was littered with tiny shards of bones that could be a choking hazard at worst and an annoyance in your mouth at best. Also, the gravy had just a few pieces of meat. There were literal bone chunks in it. We don't pay the price to be fooled about the meat. The portion sizes are pathetic. The rotis wrre warm and soft though and the peas pulao was inoffensive. We paid an exorbitant price for our terrible meal and we didn't even get the customary mouth fresheners in the end. Will not recommend this place.

Had a relaxed Monday lunch on the base floor.<br/>Lighting could be improved slightly, although it does go well with the ambience, which reflects a Punjabi dhaba with a rural feel, especially the cutlery.<br/>For starters, we ordered Dahi Kebab.<br/>Main course, a variety of indian breads: Garlic naan, Missi roti, Makki di roti.<br/>Sides, we took Shahi Paneer and Paneer makhani.<br/>And Chaach to get an all round experience, which came in pint-sized bottles, a nice touch.<br/>All dishes and beverage were excellent, and quite sufficient for a 4 person group.<br/>The hospitality was good, but the wait time was long, even accounting lunchtime crowd. This is one place where the restaurant can improve, you don't want to give guests the sights&smell of a dhaba and make them wait long to gorge on food.<br/>Pricing was at norm, allows for occasional revisit.

I had ordered butter roti and kadai paneer... food quality and quantity was excellent. The only drawback i felt was, butter roti was not cooked properly. Must try place for punjabi food!<br/><br/>Update on my review: went their for dinner... orders: paneer tikka, chicken tikka, garlic naan, paneer butter masala, and mutton briyani... all the dishes where packed with flavors, juicy and tasty. A must visit place, services was good.

Delicious food at reasonable rate. Afghani babycorn is must try item who do not like spicy items. Students may even get complimentary items on prior booking. Daniel gave us an option for dining in dhaba (a small room with khaat and table to give you feeling of dhaba) which was a new experience for us in Chennai. The courteous behavior of staff members and delicious food made me to give full rating.

If you are working in Perungudi, highly likely that you have visited this place at least once. Used to be a small joint but has grown big now. Gets crowded during peak lunch and dinner times because of the presence of nearby corporate crowd. Ambience is that of a Punjabi Dhaba and service is decent. Expect disruptions in service during peak hours. It’s just too many people wanting to gorge on Punjabi food. The restaurant serves both vegetarian and meat. I have had thalis, starters, main course etc. and find the taste to be really good 😋. Strongly recommend.

Horrible experience. Ordered food and they started servicing after 1:30 Hr, that too an incomplete order. Waiter says sorry sir you did not order when he did not clearly capture the order. Someone doesn’t order food for fun, they order if they are hungry. Pathetic service.

Taste is amazing .Service was pretty good,polite staff .Food is worth what you pay. You should definately wind up supper with special lassi ,it's worth it. I Have been here thrice and trust me it was never a disappointment .

Good food and friendly staff. Very quick service for sat evening...decent food at decent prices. They need to ensure staff are aware of foods which contain egg as most of the dishes eggs are used for the preparation and we had a member in the group who was egg allergic.

Food is good and nice ambient..! nice place to enjoy wth frnds ..i will prefer to go wth 6 members ..! reasonable price for food and serviceis good as perfect at eve time.,
