Review Cafe Des Arts - Pondicherry

Oswald Rajesh
Cafe des Arts in Puducherry is a gem nestled in a colonial bungalow, offering an authentic culinary experience. The ambience and decor exude an old-world charm, adding to the dining pleasure. While their preparation might take a bit of time, the food's remarkable taste makes every minute worth it. The crepe is an absolute must-try—utterly smooth and undoubtedly the best. It's a place worth revisiting whenever the chance arises!

The place has a great ambiance, the artwork and store are highly curated. Each corner has a different and unique type of art taste. It's a heritage French house tastefully converted/restored into a café. The food is decent not really exceptional as such. Visit for the ambiance, the store, to take photos, meet friends, and enjoy the space.

Food Portion for the platter could have been a bit better. Taste wise it was good. Lime Soda was refreshing . Atmosphere was very cozy, washroom is clean. As we checked out early morning didn't faced any queues. The only issues they have is the open drainage and I think that is the issue exists all over the puducherry. So while entering the famous yellow wall painting you see it is just beside an open drain.

Ambience of this café is amazing and the interiors will transport you to the past. It feels like a french colonial bungalow and every room is done up differently. Food is pretty much like standard cafe food, the only USP being it is made from organic and locally sourced ingredients. There are nooks and crannies with Vintage decor and it's a perfect place to sit and soak up Pondicherry vibes.

The Cafe is really cute with aesthetic interiors. Chocolate Milkshake was really amazing, a must try thing! Had Asian and Italian Salad Along it was decent. The menu is very limited. Food is ok, service is slow but good.

Cafe des Art in Pondicherry offers a captivating antique ambience that transports you to another era. The charm of the decor adds a unique touch to the dining experience. As for breakfast, it stands out as the best in Pondicherry, with a diverse menu inspired by French cuisine that caters to various tastes. To fully enjoy your visit, arriving early is advisable, as the cafe tends to get crowded shortly after its 9:00 AM opening. Don't miss the opportunity to capture memories against their famous graffiti walls, known for creating picturesque moments. Overall, a delightful spot blending French culinary inspiration, history, great food, and a dash of artistic flair.

Good place to be at while you are in whitetown...nicely maintained place, warm and cozy ambience, Friendly staff and nice food. We were there for breakfast and had some good time there. If you are seated inside all good, but during rain it is not seatable outside, just inside only. Walkable distance from other points in Whitetown and food prices are kinda normal for the place and options they have. Check the timings before visiting.

What a lovely place! The vintage vibe, the decor, the place was just fantastic. Initially I was scared of visiting the place for lunch as there was no ac and it was quite hot that day. But maybe because it’s a vintage house, it was quite cool inside and we really enjoyed it. The food was good, however we didn’t realise it’s a cafe and not a lunch place and hence had to just be happy with some sandwiches. Overall, lovely place and a must visit!

Had the egg & mayo sandwich which was great and fried tofu sandwich here which was ok here. This place has a really great vibe and it's great for getting away from the pondicherry heat to relax and grab a quick bite to eat. They initially got one of our orders wrong but they rectified it immediately and the service was pretty quick.

Apart from Coromandel Cafe if anyone (non-vegetarian) asks me to what other cafe/restaurant is a must visit place in Pondicherry, I will definitely recommend Cafe Des Arts. But you have to stand in a que for a while, as the sitting/dinning area is small. It is like a French period house, which has been converted into a cafe. Authentic french foods are available. We tried Croque Madamé, Créole and ginger lime soda - all of them we tasty. We like the ambience also.

Ordered croissant, masala tofu and scrambled eggs. All were very good. Ambience is very nice. Problem here is there is only one washroom!! So long wait to use the washroom. Tables are cleaned as soon as the people leave. Well maintained place. Croissant with chocolate syrup - 8/10 Masala tofu - 10/10 Scrambled eggs - 9/10 Less options for vegetarians

This is synonymous to Pondicherry, if you are here you just can't miss this. The place is a whole vibe, every wall has some kind of Art to soak in The Ambience is extremely good, the food matches up. Their platter is the best choice you can have. Plus you'll get the classic yellow wall you've went on search for. If you're in Pondicherry, just don't miss this. The only thing to be aware about, they have 2 menu one for morning and one for afternoon, so you might not get everything, everytime.

This place is a must visit, try to be there earlier to get yourself a seat or you need to stand in all queue. The hype about this place is real. The food. They have amazing food, a lil on the higher side on their rates but worth it 👌

Only thing I didn’t like is the staff, they dont care of the customer is looking for them. They just ignore

If you’re on a look out for insta worthy cafes in pondicherry then Cafe des Arts should definitely be on you’re list. Cafe des Arts is famous for its yellow walls. The ambience and decor of this café is really beautiful. It’s more popular for its fancy artwork than its food. Classic decor with painted walls, write ups and a tricycle auto rickshaw at the entrance. Even though the food was average but the overall experience was good. One can get some great pictures here.

Cafe De Arts is one of those cafes that everyone going to Pondi swears by. The food here takes you down to the lanes of France, thanks to its authenticity. The staff is courteous and service and quick. The seating arrangements are very relaxed and unique, with different corners providing you with different moods.

Coming to the food, I had-
• A mushroom croque- the mushrooms were perfectly sauteed and earthy, their flavours blending in beautifully with the cheese and further amplified their creaminess and added a richness to them. The croque came with a side of slaw and iceberg that added freshness to th dish. The bread was beautifully baked, crisp on the outside and soft on the inside.

Loved the food at Cafe de Arts! Worth a shot when in Pondi

The legendary Café of Pondicherry. The most Instagrammable Café of Pondicherry. How could we not go there. On our very first day here, we went there for a lunch.

Location : White town

I ordered for a mushroom crepe for myself which was served with a portion of herbed baby potatoes and lettuce salad. My friend Aarti ordered an egg sandwich, which according to her had way too much filling and very little bread. Whereas the opposite happened with Amod, who had ordered a Croque which had more Bread to the filling ratio. Vishnu had ordered a Tomato Tartine.

For drinks we called for smoothies, detox juices etc.

For all of the above our bill amount was approx. 2500 Rs.

Pros – Ambiance, Food, Vibe. Its really gorgeous. Make sure you click a lot of pictures there.

Cons – Getting a place can be difficult. Service is slow. Slightly overpriced.

TTB rating – 4*

One of the best cafes in Pondicherry. The French cuisine and ambience is remarkable. It is the perfect place to sit down with a cup of coffee and your favourite book.

I went there a few weeks back and loved it. The walls of the cafe had attracted me while I was walking through the streets of White Town with my friends. The graffiti stood out among all the surrounding cafes. The interior was just as eye catching. The outdoor seating area was beautiful with decorated chairs and tables. The inside was serene and decorated with antiques.

The food was delicious. We had Bacon and Honey Crepes and a plate of Bacon and Cheese Croques. The crepes were perfect.

It was one of the best brunch experiences.

Absolutely love the ambience of this place so beautiful. You can read books everything has a nice vintage feel to it. There's also a store within the cafe that you can shop from. The food served is quite decent. The mixed vegetables salad was really tasty. The Thai cold coffee was okay. I had the croque chicken external crust was too hard but the filling was tasty.

Probably the worst service I've ever had. The waiter who served us was extremely rude and disinterested. It's not even the fact that they say no to things like can you join two tables for a bigger group - it's the way they say it - so grumpy and dismissive. They even refused to pack up an uneaten sandwich and said 'we don't do takeaways'. Seriously? With all the food wastage going on you just want to throw it away? They finally grumpily agreed to wrap it up in foil. We saw our waiter smiling and talking to some non-indian diners though- so I guess he's just racist? Shameful!

We ordered sandwiches. I had beacon cheese sandwich and he had a veg one (not sure which 1 exactly). We both didnt really like the bread, it was too hard and we couldn't even slice it using our cutlery. I also ordered 1 masala tea which was served quite bland. I asked the guy to boil it a bit more after which it tasted really good. My friend ordered watermelon juice and had to ask for some more mint in it. The setting was really good though with picture perfect greenery and wall arts.

Bad food, slow delivery, ignorant staff.
Below average drinks and bad sandwiches. Only thing good was the croissant.
Won't recommend.

Short review: Good ambience, mediocre food, poor service, unreasonably expensive, bucket list check off that's all!
Long review: The place has an amazing ambience but the food and service is sub par. They are short on waiting staff and the same guys also are at billing. Thus, they are very slow when it comes to service, funnily it's also mentioned on their menu that the service will be slow. It's so slow that by the time my tea reached my table it was already cold, additionally the tea cup had someone's lipstick stain on it, probably not properly cleaned and once he changed the cup and got it back I got cold tea. The masala omlette was not satisfactory and too oily. Scrambled eggs were way to bland for my taste. The toasts offered on the side were way too dry and hard to be edible for human consumption. If you want to enjoy a good ambience do visit but do know that the food won't leave you satisfied.

The place is overhyped because of the great decor, quirky and fun with painted walls and write-ups, with a rajnikant cut out and a rickshaw tricycle decorated at the entrance. An Instagram friendly cafe almost has become a must-visit because of the clicks you get at the wall. Food is a little different here, maybe because of the french influence, it was okayish for me because of not a value for money in food perspective, but overall experience was good

You guys are awesome. Had breakfast at your cafe yesterday and it was lip-smacking tasty. The Baguette sandwiches were superb. And your staff was the icing on the cake - polite, courteous and always smiling. Overall a memorable experience. I'd recommend your cafe to everyone who visits Pondicherry.

More for bucket list check off!
Food was average, more about ambience and laid back scene. No work on food presentation, we ordered mushroom cheese pasta and big break breakfast. Food was good in taste but Nothing too awesome as hyped.
Arjita Jhingran
They have the best breakfast I have ever had. Also it's so filling for 2 people. You must must have breakfast here if you are visiting ponducherry

The food was amazing and loved the ambience, the service should be made a little quicker otherwise it’s a perfect place to grab some quick French food😍

This place is absolutely gorgeous its truly one of a kind.. Love the vegan food options and the authentic french cuisine.

Great Ambience and average food, high price. Slow service.

It's got a great decor, quirky and fun with painted walls and write ups, with a rajnikant cut out and a rickshaw tricycle decorated at the entrance.

Food was okayish. Nothing extraordinary.
A decent breakfast or cafe option.
Rishan RiOt Shabong
I think this place is hyped over the decor of the place. The food we had ordered wasn't good at all and not worth the price. We ordered a classic breakfast combo that served coffee and juice together at the same time! That's wrong. We had higher expectations from it since it was well recommended. Would love to see it getting better at its service and food.

As the name says, its a cafe full of arts and artists and related stuff. The place will remind you of an age old villa with all those antiques, beautifully decorated everywhere.

The food they serve is awesome, the varieties they have, the compositions and composure, the way the decorate the food and with love they serve, and sure is pocket friendly too.

They will definitely tell you, how long is it gonna take and the accuracy is just great.

This is an iconic cafe situated in the quiet streets of White Town. A must visit place on every tourist's list who visits Pondicherry. The ambiance and decor of this cafe is really beautiful. It has a quaint little library as well in case if you want to spend some quiet time reading books while having delicious food. I visited this place for breakfast and during my visit I tried their Scrambled Eggs with Fried Bacon Strips, Creole Sandwich and some Hot Chocolate. The eggs were creamy and utterly delicious. The bacon was a little disappointing for me as I found it too greasy. The sandwich was nice and the pairing of soft chicken with slightly hard bread was really good. The hot chocolate and coffee made it the wholesome breakfast.

A cozy place in the White Town area with some amazing interiors. We had been there on a Sunday and had to wait for 40 minutes for getting served, but the wait was totally worth it. The food tasted amazing, they have an in-house marmalade which was served and that is a must try.
We had spoken to the owner as well and she was very sweet and she dons multiple hats in the cafe.
A lot of French influence in the cafe makes it more instagrammable.
Yamini Choudhary
Amazing must try restaurant
Oh Food
The two words that would define this cafe well are 'overhyped' and 'expensive'. We fell for the hype and also the pretty exteriors and decided to try out our French lunch here (But I'm sure there are a lot more better options in Pondy). Even though I was not disappointed with the Bacon Croque that we had, it felt that everything here is too pricey, and hence not value for money. That being said, the food quantity is too little for the price. The service too was a little slow, but since the crowd was so much, I give them that. Also, the amount of seating area is commendably huge. With some French music playing in the background and some nice books to read, it's a good place to spend some alone time too.

We ordered a lot of breakfast. The food portion was very little as compared to the price. The fruit bowl n fruit juice was not something you would serve at a cafe. The sunny side up was dry too and the breads very very stale. Food didn't have the flavor and even the waffle was dry n lacked sponginess. They charged 120 extra for maple syrup which I thought was way beyond normal. The place just has good decor, outside and inside and hence the crowds it attracts. The food needs lots of improvement.

Nice place to chill and spend some time.
Dishes tried out of the two visits-
Hot chocolate: ok
Croissant: manageable. The outside of golden brown but wasn't right enough.
Watermelon chia seeds and mint drink: nice
Waffle with vanilla ice cream : ok

No Straws, but smoking ok. Outdoor smoking + open doors = smoke indoors too, duh!!
Aninda De
A very instagram friendly waffle serving place which is more famous for the artwork on the outside walls than the food they serve inside. To be fair, the waffles, drinks, salads and desserts they serve inside are decent, but are not great.

However, the laid back attitude of the cafe, the young crowd looking to chill out and capture a few hundred photos, and the general vibe of the place makes it casual enough for people to enjoy the experience much.

To their credit, the place itself is housed inside a beautiful mansion, and the bookshelf, knick knacks strewn about, the artefacts kept on display speaks of far more character than the place pretends to have.

Food is ok, service is slow but good, and the place gives you the scope to be imaginative. Do what you can with it.

Cold Coffee ...with very little Coffee Powder. They mention their Closing time as 7.00 PM however they stop taking their food orders at 6.20 PM.

We ordered Cold Coffee and Latte which was not really upto the mark ...lacked Coffee.
Staff not friendly and not welcoming.
You can ONLY come here to get your pictures clicked at the wall outside. Heard a lot about the cafe but going back disappointed.

The place has a very cozy vibe. The place is ideal for lunch as this place closes by 1900. Had ordered the BLT corques and a spicy chicken crepes. Both were amazing. One of the best places in white town. And to add on, the exterior walls of the cafe has the symbolic yellow wall with cute paintings, a must click of the pondicherry itinerary.

Taste is not good in any of the 5 vegetarian items we ordered.

Located in the quiet streets of Puducherry this cafe is a must visit for some vintage feels... an old villa converted in to this beautiful place with outdoor seating on a sunny day is perfect for a getaway! Loved the food and would definitely come back here with friends and family.. 5 stars!! 🏝☑️

You had some decent crowd over here, has limited menu listing for desserts thats a sad part, since cafe is name as des art, you expect to have some good desserts listing. Which you dont find. Ambience is too good. You have rack full of books to reading options. Well maintained cafe to be Frank. Place to hangout with friend and get chilled. Love this cozy place. Tumbs up

It has a nice ambience and a vibrant and a young vibe without a doubt..service is decent and prompt.

Felt to google's must try outlet but was dissapointed.

Now coming quickly to food, I do understand everyone has their own set of taste buds...and knowing my taste buds well I will prefer not to visit again.

What we ordered is listed below :)

1. Chicken croque: was expecting a full burst of chicken, but it was way lighter in quantity(chicken), taste wise it was not that bad. However the sour dough they use is pretty hard.

2. Bacon and egg sandwich: again nothing extraordinary just a bulky dough with a pinch of flavour.

3. Toast with Butter and Jam: serve unsalted butter, bread again is extremely hard even if its comes to room temperature from hot.

4. Masala Omlette: Its a regular omlette.

5. Ham and cheese crepe: this was little different in taste and felt good to eat something finally.

6. Apple compote crepe: This was again a good to taste dish, mildly sweet and must try I would say

7. Hot choclate and cold coffee: They prepare it un-swetened, you may add sugar as required but the taste is really not up to the mark.
Soumya Pancholi
The place and the ambience is amazing for sure. In fact it is one of the prettiest cafes in Pondi. But the menu is very limited. Also, we tried their tea and hot chocolate, and tbh, both were pretty average.

Well @cafedesarts Is A Beautiful French Bohemian Cafe Situated In White Town Pondicherry, The Place Was Aesthetically Pleasing With Soft Tunes Playing Around In The Background.

The Menu Include's:

1) Spicy Chicken Crepe - Rs 310
2) Monsieur Croques - Rs 330

Ahh The Crepe Was Truly Amazing And Was Really Flavourful It Just Wasn't Spicy To Be Honest. But Having It Was A Delight. Served Alongside Diced Potatoes And Lettuce This Crepe Is A Must Have Here.

Having Croques After A Really Long Time, This One Consisted Of Bacon, Cheddar Cheese And Bechamel Sauce And Is Served With A Side Of Potatoes And Vegetables. Taste Wise It Was Pretty Good But It Turned Out To Be Really Dry In The Middle.

There More To The Food In Pondicherry So Stay Tuned Stay Hungry 🐼

Place: ⭐⭐⭐
Service:⭐⭐⭐
Food:⭐⭐⭐
Value:⭐⭐⭐
#thebighungrypanda #zomato #new #crepes #cheese #croques #foodporn #bacon #foodtasting #foodblogfeed #foodporn #refreshing #foodcravings #foodcritic #foodbloogfeed #foodphotography #delicious #instafood #instalove #explorefood #pondicherry

Totally over hyped cafe substandard sandwiches. The worst croque monsieur i have ever eaten. The drink i had lemon with ginger was tastless. Total let down. Dont get swayed by fancy outside painted wall.

Cafe Des Arts is really a good place to hangout and be around, but the food is not as good as the place.

Food here is mostly indian french cuisine rather than authentic french cuisine.

Overall cafe des arts is an overrated Indianized
French restaurant where you could take great pics.

Located snuggly on Suffren Street in White Town, Pondicherry, is this gorgeous cafe beautifully decorated with artistic and quirky matter. Almost a century old, this cafe is the perfect place to enjoy the true energy of Pondicherry.

As you enter, you will be welcomed by a colourful rickshaw which is a great spot to click some amazing selfies. You can choose to sit out or inside, either way it is wonderful. A huge wooden closet containing books welcome you as you step inside the cafe. Do check out some of the old and quirky knick knacks that have been spread across the cafe to do some photography. There is also a small boutique inside if you wish to shop something organic.

A great treasure to experience amazing food and coffee and to take excellent photos for your Instagram.

After an unsuccessful attempt at getting a table a lunch, we lined up for breakfast early next morning. Well, not really early, but early by our vacation standards. And yes, we were second time lucky. This place is less a cafe and more a boutique. We took a table near a bookshelf. Unfortunately, as it was breakfast time, our options were severely limited.

I ordered a chicken baguette sandwich and a Sneakylicious. The Sneakylicious was a thick shake made up of nutella, milk and cocoa powder. It was tasty but extremely heavy, and killed half my appetite. The sandwich was good too, though I realized that I am not quite fond of this particular variety of bread. Overall, the breakfast ended up being much heavier than hat we had initially anticipated.

Cafe des Arts is one of the go-to cafes in Pondicherry. More than the food, it's about the interior and the ambience. And of course, the street art on the outer wall.

Good place with ok food and not so ok people. We went to this place for the first time after hearing so much of hype but were dissapointed with the no place to sit as the waiters said sit where ever u find a place it was as a choas. We figured out a table some how and sat there. Now we were 3 people on a table of 2 since it was too sunny we moved table according to our convinience and then Mr Bharat all was furiated abt we movin our table out of the sun and we politly aksed him to take the order and he was very rude and had said he will take order after 20 min as there are many orders lined up to which started waiting, to our surprise he started taking order from people who came after us. I got really angry and tried to find the owner but she was not in town i guess. Then I had to shout a little to get some attention. Luckily Kartik saved the day and nicely served the food to us. All in all it was a not vey pleasent experience. An extra star for kartik else it would be 2*. Not to mention its very expensive for what they serve.

One of the most popular places in Pondicherry widely famous for its yellow wall. The food somehow was just average but the ambiance is worth a visit. I found the place a bit overpriced which was compensated by the beautiful interiors and vintage collection this place has. Overall a good place to have some decent food but some great pictures.

My Ratings :-
Food - 4
Ambiance - 5
Service - 4.5
Value for money - 4
Overall - 4
Happy Fooding :)

Great authentic cafe in Pondicherry, this is the must going cafe in Pondicherry.

The ambiance is with closed Hall and open garden, prefer garden always.

The food menu is French as it's a French cafe with a good foreign crowd. I had to google before ordering the food.

We ordered the below:
Masala Chai
Sweet Lassi
Croque Chicken

The masala chai is a must try option.

Overall we enjoyed the food and the ambiance

Taste 4/5
Hospitality 4/5
Ambiance 4/5

It's not the first time I've eaten here and the dishes are prepared so as to taste quite authentic. Unfortunately the menu presentation has changed and the dessert section of waffles and Crepes is absolutely not customer friendly. The menu is not like in the picture herewith anymore. Amongst the dishes we enjoyed today, we ordered a maple syrup crepe, which was not 150rs but 120 rs for 1 crepe+ 120rs for just about 2 small table spoons for maple syrup or less, that's a total of 240rs for a maple syrup crepe. While i know good maple syrup isn't cheap, my friend and I were very unhappily surprised with these charges, especially because while reading the menu you only read the 120 rs listed next to the maple syrup while the 120 rs for the crepe is listed as a butter crepe, and not a base price in addition to which one has to add the maple syrup prices. Very confusing. When sharing this information with the staff he just didn't want to understand that the menu is confusing and that the desserts are written in a very different and incomprehensible format as compared to the rest of the menu where one has no problem understanding what is an additional charge and what is the charge of the base dish. I know this review is very likely confusing and incomprehensive, just like the dessert section of the menu card unfortunately.

I love yellow and the loves of this cafe are wonderful .The interiors are amazing. We ordered banana cocoa milkshake, Nutella crepe and burger. All the items are good expect the burger bun was little hard to chew.

Very nice ambience and food and the croissants especially are really superb! the place is very close to the beach and easily walkable from there

A simple croissant and masala chai.. Perfect indian... Great for an evening French style tea time.. Nice place..

The place is located near the Rock Beach promenade amidst the famous French Colony. My friends and I had a lovely time here. We loved the tartiness and the croques. The service was a bit slow but the quality of the food compensated that.

All bread items were dry and food was served cold. Lot's of mosquitoes in the seating area. I don't know how this place even has a rating above 3.5.
Especially the waffle was like a stone and served with a teaspoon of Nutella.

Two stars only for the decor and great marketing strategies used at this place. The food was really disappointing. We ordered for a croque cordon bleu and croque madame. Both came with an accompaniment of baby potatoes which were really large in portion size and under seasoned. The dressing was high on vinegar amd tasteless. The croque madame is supposed to be nice layers of creamy bechamel on a lean bread. This was assembled with really thick slices of bread which were difficult to at first cut through and then also chew. Sadly the only good item we ordered was the lemon soda. All in all it was too much starch on the plate and yet dry and difficult to consume it all, lemon soda was a saviour through it all.

Built in a very different manner from usual cafes, it's like a person's house where you can sit at one of the few rooms or outside. They have quite a few vintage products for decoration and also garments for sale. Food is appetizing, flavourful and scrumptious. Must visit place at Pondicherry!
Samveda Sharma
Food was below average, ambience is nice and chill, milk shake was disappointing, more of water shake than milk shake, good cafe to click photos and then leave.
Himanshu Gupta
The food actually tasted very bad. I went with such high hopes. It's honestly very difficult to get a correct rating for this establishment as there are already so many 4/5 stars.
On the bright side this place is extremely picturesque. So if your gastronomical appetite isn't satisfied, the appetite for validation on Instagram would definitely be satisfied. Also they'll let you smoke (up) on campus.

We visited this cafe at Brunch time, it was packed. It has beautiful interiors and a cute rickshaw (photo spot). When we asked for a place to sit, we didn’t get a welcoming response but had to hunt for our table. The staff wasn’t very friendly however there were a few exceptions.
Coming to the food, it was very average and didn’t live up to the hype.
Priyanka Bissa
Honestly, I was expecting a much better food from this place since it looked really nice and it has a very nice vibe. However, it didn't turn out to be that good. We had Ratatouille crepe and tomato tartine in savoury items. Both these items were very average. We saw that masala chai is one of the things that people order a lot, so we ordered that. While it wasn't bad, we have had much better masala chai at other places. Lastly, we had banana and Nutella crepe which was really really good. Ambience was really good and service was also good considering how packed this place was.

A must visit place if you are in town. We walked as soon they opened the doors and there were almost 10 people waiting before us . they open at 9am sharp
We ordered croquet and tuna mayo baguette. The breads were fresh and we could make that out while eating . its carved out from an old bungalow and gave me deja vu of my childhood where I spent maximum time dwelling . they will take ample.time to serve.meanwhile you can take a stroll amidts the greenery and take a look at the handicrafts t shirts and other accessory . after having food you are bound to take madatory. Pics of the wall painting and graffiti. Its more of the coziness and the environment that makes the place charming than the food . make hay while sun shines well I would day have a sumptous breakfast while in Puducherry

The food was quite okay but thank you maam for making us realise we are indians and we don't know shit, we're illiterate enough that you shouted at us and we still went inside your cafe. A polite request would have been enough for us to understand that we are not supposed to touch things we didn't mean to destroy anything.

It was my last day in Pondicherry and after seeing all the instagram captures with #pondicherry, i couldnot think of missing out on the Graffiti walls of Cafe des Arts' so i planned to visit this place for a good breakfast and some pictures before i leave for Chennai.
I would highly recommend this place if you want to explore the enviroment and experience the french culture.
But food was not exceptionallty very great, I even returned one of my order which was 'mint green juice' or something like that which was just water mixed with mint and nothing else.
But overall I had great clicks for my insta feed so Silver Linings

Invariably a visit to this beauty is considered chore number 1 in Pondicherry visits. Quite well known with old world charm. Seating is an odd missmatch. Service is slow. But dishes warrant a mention. Crepes and Tartines were great. However do not expect a fancy well presented plate of food.

I celebrated my birthday this year, so went there for breakfast with friends.great ambience and we chosed for open seating as we love plants and trees. Customer friendly service was good. Food was tasty however I felt it was Lil bland. Price is high. Definetly wil visit again for the ambience

I could only taste their Banana Nutella Crepe,Caramel espresso and one other thing whose name I donot remember as usual....Both of it were outstanding.... Special mention goes to the crepe....It was soo good I would definitely want to visit once more when not in a hurry...
The ambience is outstanding as well...What was a little different was that they have a washing machine beside the washroom....This we thought was a very thoughtful measure..

Ambiance was good. But the service and food were not at all good.

We ordered Pondy Tartine and Cheese Croque both were serve cold despite wait for more than 30 mins.

Will not recommend it to anyone else.
