The food is divine and the staff are super friendly. Absolutely loved the croissant, obsessed with the coffee. Definitely recommend the chain if you're in pondy ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Good place to have breakfast. Their products are quite fresh and they serve good coffee. The cakes deserve a special mention, love their red velvet cake.

Hot bread is one of the best café to buy all kind of quality breads, pastry, croissant, cakes etc. It's located in a prime area so people could easily reach here. Taste is amazing and the cost is also moderate. Staffs are welcoming and friendly. Only things is they could clean the tables well. I love their almond croissant.

Very very tasty. Hygienic, reasonable and super delicious. We tried walnut brownie and apple pie. Both were amazing. Eventually better than Baker Street. Must come here and give it a chance.

Surprisingly, I like Hot Bread Pondy more than the ones in Chennai. Taste, store layout, food taste, self-serve options, everything. Though I’ve been coming to HB since 1996, I have always loved the experience here! We had Veg Puff, Veg rolls, Red Velvet Cake and a Banana Cake. The Coffee is outstanding as well. If you’re in Pondy, don’t miss a short eat at this place.

Everything tasted so good and fresh. Way better than Baker's street. I feel like revisiting Pondi to have some food here and menu is very pocket friendly.

This is my first time visiting hot breads and apparently this is a big chain in the middle east and such. I tried my first ever quiche here. Good assortment of bakery items and snacks. Service is good and prices are reasonable for the quality of goods. Can recommend this place for a quick snack. Tip: Get some things packed for later to be be enjoyed by the beach. They have great cookies so those work perfectly.

Good ambiance..... varieties of fresh breads are available......one of the few shops which shows the ingredients percent on the outer Bread cover......if you are a vegetarian kindly confirm with staff before selecting tarts and sandwichs as most contains egg even when mentioned under veg catagory.....

Today i visit hot breads. Its amazing. Numerous bread variates Are there. Brownie cake is just awesome. Coffee is little bit hot less but real essentials are there. Price is little bit higher than ordinary hotel but all are good and fabulous taste. Enjoy lot

Tried Hot breads store in Ambour Salai, Pondicherry. Fresh breads, pastries, croissants available. Tried Butter, Apple, Chocolate croissants range from 60-85Rs. Taste good. Freshly prepared breads available as early as 7am.

Best like other Hot breads outlets. My favourite item here is Double Decker sandwich and pasta combo. Whenever i need to take break, i will have a visit to this place. Very calm place. Located in corner and have good views around this place. Car Parking is not available. But still it is located at the centre of city where you have chance to park your bikes. So overall, its good.

Hot breads is the go to bakery you must visit if you're staying in and around white town/mg road. They serve some great baked goodies along with some beverages, making it an ideal place to stop at for a quick munchie. <br/>I had their double layered chocolate croissant,with a chocolate filling and a drizzle on the top and quite liked it. The pastry was nice and flakey too. Would've like the filling to be a tad bit more decadent but it's a great steal for the price

This place has one of the most amazing baked goods ever...from savoury patties to sweet croissants...it was just a delight. The food from the menu was pretty good. The range of coffee based drinks were good too. If you're prone to a sugar rush, avoid the cold coffee as it has a ton of sugar and sweetness to it. Overall, a great place and a must to visit while in Pondicherry!

I have been visiting this place for a long time, ever since Zomato came into being. The staff here never learns, to serve or deal properly with the visitors. More importantly, the food and the breakfast combo is a disaster.

One of the oldest french style cafe in Pondicherry. It's serves the best Puff Pastries (Light, Flaky with thin crisp crust) 😋😋 and Classic French Breads. One thing that I loved the most about the cafe is that they have different varieties of puff pastries and croissants, both for vegetarians and non vegetarians (we don't get to see so many varieties of puffs in regular bakeries)<br/>. We were in Puducherry in November for my birthday and hubby chooses to surprise me with the birthday pastries from HOT BREADS!! It was fresh, soft and delicious. <br/>Since, I personally didn’t visited the store, hence my rating is based entirely on what I saw and ate! <br/>Loved it!

If you wanna try typical French style baked dishes this is the place to be. Starting from freshly baked bread to rolls and donuts you will find all of under one roof here. Not to mention the taste is just amazing and feels even better when it's so light on your pocket. 😇 I tried a cup of coffee with chocolate donut, chicken roll and another pizza flavored backed dish (which I don't remember the name of) and all of them tasted outstanding! We were in the area and came across this place in white town because of the board which read the oldest French bakery in Pondicherry.<br/>We called for a cheese croissant, chicken hot dog and chai. All three were very tasty. <br/>The cheese croissant was a steal. One of the best I’ve ever had. <br/>Must visit Bakery👍🏼

Ordered veg sandwich and veg panini. Veg sandwich was 2 slices of cold toasted bread with very regular vegetables in the middle. Nothing special at all. Panini was decent. Moderate prices

We were exploring the streets in nearby White Town area. Felt hungry around 7 pm and werent in mood for dinner, so sopped by this bakery for a quick munch and coffee. They have too wide a range of breads, desserts and savory snacks. There are servers to serve you at the table which is rare for a bakery. We had burger, puff, coffee and a dry cake. All were very tasty, you could make out that all were freshly baked. And the best part... the prices. We just loved the place....

Croissants 🥐 are one of my favourite and I awaited to eat authentic ones in Puducherry.I am glad on the last day of my trip I could taste “Hot breads” chocolate croissants. It was soft yet crisp but a little more chocolate was preferred. Non the less I loved it😋

Have been to this place a number of times! Mostly to buy bread, focaccia, garlic breads. The chocolate desserts are good. Cheesecake is not worth. The pies that they have during Christmas and New year time are nice and indulgent!

I went there many times to have evening snacks and my favorite is apple pie with ice cream. for sure they value for money was great reasonably priced and they have a display where u can pick up ur favorite snacks and they will get it warmed and get it served in the table. their warm snacks are average but they are good in desserts.

This is the oldest French bakery in Pondicherry, so we had to visit this place. The seating area is not very large with less than 10 tables. The bread omelette was not that great, the veg sandwich was good and the apple pie was amazing. The service can sometimes be slow as we had ordered combos but received our coffees after we were done with our breakfast, and that too after several reminders. The bakery has various types of breads, croissants, cakes and pies to choose from and I would definitely recommend having a breakfast here once when you visit Pondicherry.

We had a good time here. They have good variety of breads. The price is pretty affordable and they taste odd the food is also good. Not very great with ambience but this place can give you a pleasant lunch and you will not be disappointed

I just dropped in here to have a quick coffee and try some of their bakes, as had been suggested to me by someone. I settled for a hot chocolate though, along with a croissant. The hot chocolate definitely was great, compared to the ones I have had elsewhere in Pondicherry (because it contained real molten chocolate) and so was the Croissant - flaky and soft. I believe it would have been better had I turned up for breakfast, but I will leave that for some other time !

Located in white town, this place serves amazing food. Tried Panini veg sandwich and cold coffee and both were upto mark. And the service was also nice. Fantastic collection of breads. Good ambience. Different fillings within the croissants and puffs were excellent, though some could have been better. Tea should have been served with hot water and milk and left to the customer's choice of adding both, instead of serving milk with a teabag. Otherwise, overall, a very good place for breakfast.

As the name suggests this place is all about baked and bread items. This is a small cafe where u can hang out with your friends over coffee and burgers pizzas and have a nice time. I just loved their caramel cold coffee and veg burger. They also offer a variety of donuts, puffs and fresh breads which is very difficult to resist.

This place is a total VFM. Decent pizza though the pasta isn't that great. Avoid ordering pasta. Smoothies are okay. Pastries can be given a try.

The food here is an utter disappointment , I ordered for 2 different kind of pizza's they both were pathetic and had the exact same toppings , the sub sandwich was a disgrace . They charge 50rs for home delivery for this 3rd class food .

Had the chocolate truffle cake here. It was rich and gooey and everything a chocolate cake should be. Simple and satisfying at a reasonable 70 bucks.

No. Then, it is wrong to say, it has collection of all type of breads I have never imagined of. 😜 Breads, loaf etc... flavoured, unflavoured, single grain , multi grain, wheat ,flour, garlic etc. If it would have ambience similar to that of any French restaurant, one would have presumed it for French restaurant at glance.<br/><br/>Once you enter, you will see a board having number of messages converted into French and on left, you will see number of ready made food items and bread , which was Beautiful & creative.<br/><br/>We ordered panini sandwich, and burger which tasted mild, like French taste. They use special breads having special flavour / aroma to make your food, which definitely give French touch to the food.<br/><br/>Overall great experience.<br/>If you visit Pondicherry ever, do not forget to give visit to this restaurant. Probably hot breads is not the best place for dinner, but this outlet servers pasta and pizza.<br/>parking is a bit of hindrance, so park in the adjacent street. We ordered for a pasta combo and a chicken pizza combo. The pizza combo had a regular pizza two nuggests and TWO COOKIES(dint go well with the remaining) and soft drink. Pasta was slightly better than the pizza only because the combo had garlic bread which tasted pretty good. The only thing which i liked here was the hit chocolate drink. The service is average. <br/>Will probably try their confectionery itrms and avoid these two combos henceforth.

Food isn't bad, but the service is absolutely pathetic. The staff are untrained and have no idea about half the items on the menu. If there was good service with well trained staff, the place would be a local favourite. Getting a waiter to take your order is akin to waging a war. It's definitely French in the sense that the waiters often ignore you and are almost rude, which is certainly unacceptable in a country like India, where competition is so fierce. Stay away if you want a drama free meal not including a showdown with the manager.

Came over to this place one fine morning.<br/>Located beside the main road, people come here to buy fresh bread.<br/>There were some breakfast combos. I ordered for a combo which had a french omelette, two slices of bread with a small butter packet provided beside and, a small cappuccino.<br/>The omelette was heavenly. It had small chunks of carrots and tomatoes and was cooked in a very perfect manner.<br/>The toast and coffee were normal.<br/>All these came for just 100 rupees which was quite cheap! They have a wide variety of breads. Gonna come back and try them.

Went for one of friends treat during my college days. This is a decent place if you do not want to spend much for a group great. There are many restaurants in that area. Can visit once. The sandwiches are good. Not sure how it is now.

This place was suggested to us by a localite especially for its signature French breakfast menu. So we got up early and decided to have some French food. And by the time we reached i.e. 9am, half of the food was over. It is that famous and crowded. We ordered croissants and chicken buns. Everything was absolutely delicious... Croissants so soft and soo tastyy... We couldn't stop ordering more and also bought alot of stuff to take back home. A MUST visit in Pondicherry... But please go early before everything finishes off...

Disaster in the wonderland!!! The Well known outlet with an unexpected blunder, was here once back in summer of 2014 had a decent experience, was here once again on 13th February, 2016 with some expectation as this is the best known bakery of its kind in town from a long time, the fate starts after we order bun chicken tikka which is supposed to have bone less chicken and here comes along i sharp long piece of bone, which on eating just cut the gums of my friend Sahil Chawla, which made him bleed for 30 minutes non stop and the management also was stubborn, the manager on duty was a decent guy, but on asking for the chef, it was stated that he was on leave, on asking for an apology, he made us talk to his CEO Mr. Vinay Sharma, Who was a shithead when talking to the aggrieved customers, not worthy CEO, Resign Immediately

The most interesting part of the place is the procedure of self service for freshly baked items. The food is undoubtedly tasty and filling. Very peaceful and clean. Awesome variety of items.

This place is absolute VFM! I ordered a Rs. 80 combo of Veg sandwich and coffee, and it was surprisingly sumptuous, almost perfect. <br/>The place is heavily packed at most hours and there is a lot of noise. Otherwise, Hot Breads is a real nice place to grab some quick snacks and pastry.

If you're tight on your pocket but still want to have good food, this is the place to go. We had the combo for 80 Rupees with the most amazing coffee and veg grilled sandwich. The place was crowded and noisy and service was slow but it was totally worth it.

A regular place for breakfast for almost over 10 years, each time we come to Pondy around Darshan days in the Ashram. It is almost like home, good consistency each time we go there. If you are in Pondy, want an unhurried breakfast over newspapers and talk, this is the place to go to. My regular is the Omelette, toast, and coffee for breakfast or I sometimes get a quiche or sandwich for an immediate snack, or get bread loaves for consuming later at home. I have been a big fan of their cakes and desserts. All here is much more worth than what the price is. I especially like the recent change in the décor, the yellow walls and the "Romantic French Sayings of Various Intensities." But I seriously recommend them hiring staff who are much more polite or retraining them or something; they ought to know what they are dealing with, though much of our ordering work there is self-service. The service is quite discordant with the quality of food and beverage, and the ambience.

Had a horrible experience. The waiters are dumb and slow. They are not sure of the menu. They are rude. Food was no doubt good but the service is pathetic. Even the uneducated cashiers are rude.

Very good food, and pocket friendly at the same time! The combos are filling enough to be had as a meal. I'd especially recommend the panini. From the menu, the hot dog is very nice. The chicken sausage has some very nice flavours. The pizza is average, wouldn't really recommend it. The coffee is cheap and very nice. The snack items are good for an evening snack, and the chocolate croissant early in the morning is absolutely heavenly.<br/>Would definitely recommend this place regardless of your budget.

Since we were in Pondy and wanted a place to eat at night (without a glass in my hand), we head out so have food at any random place that we would come across. Amidst a lot of small shops beside Nehru street, we found this place. It was almost post 9pm and there were very few customers too. Its a small outlet with may be 6 or 7 tables. We were given the menu and had wanted to so many things just because of the price. Considering its Pondy, we expected the regular tourist slap on the menu prices too, but turned out to be like the bottle logic. No tax, cheaper stuff. Plus there are more/different options from what we get in Chennai or Kochi.<br/><br/>We ordered a double decker and red decker sandwich. Its was stuffed with everything necessary and the toast was perfect. The strawberry granitas was astonishing! It was chill and looked the part. Most of all, it actually had so much flavour of strawberry from the lid to the base, without dilution. The chocolate smoothie too was just fantastic with the richness of choco in every sip till the last sluuurrrrrrppp!!<br/><br/>Wound up the evening with a blueberry pie, which was one of the yummiest ever. And with the final bill of around 370 for for all of that, that is by far one of the most value for money meal I have had. Kudos!

Pastries are simply amazing here. Tried the pasta chicken, some veg puffs, pastries, a planner baguette. All of them were distinctly tasty, fresh and well priced. Oh! The cupcakes!! The cupcakes here are to die for. Try them for sure

I've been to Pondicherry twice and both times I've had breakfast at this particular outlet of Hot Breads. Its a moderate sized place on the main road. It is well lit and spacious.<br/>They have an elaborate spread of breads and items made of/ with bread. The whole place in engulfed in the aroma of freshly baked bread and that is one of my favorite smells. They have a wide variety of cookies and biscuits too. Most of the things on display are extremely tempting and one must control their urge to order in bulk.<br/>Taste wise hot Breads will never disappoint and you will be happy with most of the things that you order.<br/><br/>This time around the around the service got very slow and they were out of a lot of items.<br/>The tea and coffee was disappointing

Average place for our orders. We just strolled in & tried their combos- Veg. Pasta & Panini. Veg. Pasta was quite terrible full of chunks of paneer and in a red gravy...it tasted like an Indian gravy dish due the the weird paneer innovation. Nuggets were decent n garlic bread was good. Panini was just ok... with crispy French fries. Coke was part of the meal. Mini strawberry pastry was nice. Quantity for the price, service, ambience, cleanliness was fine. Overall, pretty average for us. There was a pretty awesome cake order ready so adding the pic here!

Went here for breakfast. Good bakery. They prepared their own chocolates, cookies, marshmallows. <br/><br/>Breakfast combos were fantastic. A cozy place, with artfully painted walls, that have French phrases. The foods are innovative (eg- chicken tikka bun). The panini is good. A granita is the perfect thing to cool you off on a hot pondicherry afternoon. They also serve breakfast combos with a great Spanish omelette. All this at an affordable price.

It should be declared as Foodies Monastery for Pondycherry. A cafe just by a perfect sync defination. What an ambience, decor, menu items, hygiene, taste, freshness, quality- quantity, service, pocket friendly that you just cant go out. In my 1.5 day visit to pondy i went there thrice and i m still craving for their crossiants smell and choco eclair sweetness , omlettes and coffee.... Heaven  !!!

An awesome bakery of Pondicherry which has been around for decades now. I have been a regular to this joints during all my past visits to Pondicherry. It is almost like a ritual now I guess. No visit to Pondy is complete unless I have tasted some item or the other from Hot Breads. Except for the breakfast menu, I have tried them all. The vast array of breads on offer is awesome to say the least and a must have. Recently I tried out the Chicken Supreme and the humble Veg Puff. The chicken supreme resembled a pizza and had a decent topping of veggies and chicken pieces. Quite nice. The veg puff was fluffy and crispy. The veg stuffing inside had the local flavour-spicy and different. I liked it. The pastries, donuts, coffee-both hot and cold are also pretty good. Do hop in!!!

I had the best food in Pondicherry at this place during my visit . We had spotted this place on Saturday night on our way back from promenade beach.<br/><br/>We reached at 8:30 on Sunday to have breakfast . A wonderful aroma greeted us and the place was already full with people . Luckily we got a table , kept our bags and headed to fill our trays with their items<br/><br/>We filled our trays with a lot of wonderful looking items , gave them on the counter and came back to our table . While our breakfast arrived we ordered mango smoothie, cold coffee , iced tea and orange ice crush . <br/><br/>The best drink was cold coffee and you must order it . I do not remember the names of all the bakery items we tasted , but they were heavenly. <br/><br/>Bill amount was 690/- for four . I am definitely coming back to this place whenever I visit Pondicherry again . <br/>

I dunno it might look crazy cos this is the first time I have given 5 rating to any restaurant but hot breads truly deserve it.<br/>Yummy fluffy soft delicious breads cakes available here. <br/>I loved the danish chocolate , apple croissants, almond croissants etc. Its heavily as I have never tasted such soft bread in India except here. True French range of bakery products available here. DO NOT MISS. <br/>It would be great if they had store in Bangalore as well 😑

The bakery isn't very fancy but it's ideal for a steaming cup of cappuccino and freshly baked almond croissant. <br/>The chicken float (a stretched out quiche) is one of the popular pastries on the menu. <br/>The town has better pastry shops and cafeterias but if you crave freshly baked bread in the morning you should beeline to Hot Breads!

Wasn't really impressed with the food but this is a nice place to chill with friends and sip on gratinas which is quite satifying on a hot day

After a tiresome shopping we wanted to grab some quick short bites and a drink. We were looking for some small snack outlet, driving around on the hired 2 wheeler we found Hot Breads.You have parking for 2 wheeler on the road site, however for 4 wheeler looked like little difficult Its close to some of these Tirupur garments past the small bridge.<br/>The walls with some yummy dessert pictures and the classy historical baking pictures.<br/><br/>We had puff and flavored tea. Tasted good.

Ambience is awesome, but not fully satisfied with the food. Pizza is terrible, chilled.... French fries is good. The table sauce is not good

If you are in the French Colony in Pondicherry, which you will be of course, do try the bakeries in the main market. They are pretty good. <br/><br/>Hot breads is one of them and I loved this place. Their sandwiches are just perfect. I mean they take so much of time to prepare something as basic as sandwich and trust me, it is worth the wait. They have these varieties of breads to take home too. But you will get your sandwich made from the regular white or brown bread loaf. I had their doughnut which was great too. <br/><br/>I brought home their cookies which were baked to perfection with wheat flour and had amazing flavour and taste. <br/><br/>Pretty good place to have your breakfast!

After sunrise me and my friends were extremely hungry for breakfast! Since La cafe had nothing other than hot beverages, we checked up on zomato for restaurants open ! We found A2B in the list! And being a set of south Indians we were delighted to find that was open! On our way to A2B this shop caught our attention ! And we all rushed in to this place! We fried the salsa( something similar to a cinnamon roll-with not much cinnamon) ,croissant, danish, quiche! And all were good and fresh!!!

Hungry for breakfast, want to go out for brunch or just munch some snacks, visit this place. Great assortment of dishes, breads, cookies, burgers, buns, sweets and much much more. And, all of that at a marginal price. This place was actually recommended by many French nationals in the city of Pondicherry.Just pick a tray, load it with all the assorted dishes from the racks, reach the billing counter, and you're done.Must try: actually, pick up anything from the place. You'll most certainly be delighted.

The owner i rented a bike from recommended me this place. We had Spaghetti and Garlic bread. The former was nice, loved it. Garlic bread was not so good. Still a good place. Filter coffee in front of the shop is delicious. Rs. 15 only?

We went for breakfast here. The concept of pucl your food and pay for breakfast is really convenient. But IMHO, I didn't find the food too tasty. Other places in pondy got better food, for eg. Their quiche was too creamy, croissant too crispy etc. Wouldn't go back to here.

A must visit place in pondy. You gotta go for your breakfast here. The Coffee just epitomizes the place. The highlight is you can see your food before you order.And dont miss the coffee!!

The first place where I had a bite in pondi, may be that's why I'm being a bit biased but still the variety and most importantly the pricing of the products they offer is really pocket friendly. May be they should work a bit towards their service. Will visit this place again for sure.

Small bakery which serves all kinds of bakery items and Italian food as well!! We just had veg puffs and cheese and corn nuggets which was served with fries..and a cold coffee..everything was good and fresh!!but might be difficult for big groups to accommodate as it's a cosy place with limited seating!!
