I liked the nearly open air place under the mango tree as the climate was unusually nice. There were fans too, ready to step in, if the breeze got lazy. The pork chops could have been a bit better perhaps with a darker sauce instead of the bright red one. Bira blonde wasn't available but there was Budweiser. The place might be more interesting in the night.

This places deserves to get 5* rating not sure why they stand at 4*. Met chef James as well and he was very accommodating with the allergies. I would recommend everyone to visit this place when in town.

First, this review is from my visits years ago, this place has created such fond memories for me and my friends through food and drinks. I always ask for the chicken sizzler which is my favourite and they never fail to disappoint. I am tagging this place to ensure that I visit Le Club, again, in a trip that’s planned soon this year.

Nice rooftop dining space. Service takes some time. But the dishes were tasty and awesome..Great place to have dinner with family and to spent quality time..after dinner a slow walk in the beach will be overwhelming..

It's became on of my fav restaurant since yesterday night, positive atmosphere, ambiance looking very cool and enhance. Awesome Taste and quality and quantity wise. Personally one of my fav❤️ best retro bar in pondicherry

The food is really good! The steaks are really well cooked with the simmering sauce that really accentuates the flavor of the meat. But what was really the most enjoyable was the Pizza. Fresh out of their wood baking ovens, the cheese is just gorgeous and cooked just right, with the meat tender and juicy! It is truly something not to be missed. The best pizza I've had in Pondicherry!

Food was good, felt like this place has existed for some time, judging by the food. Enjoyed the sizzler and grilled seafood. Staff were friendly and helpful. No cigarette shops nearby so recommend bringing your own. Crème brulee was good too.

the place has moved as it is undergoing renovation. however, the food has also undergone a changeover and is now many times better than what it was. the beef steak was excellent, juicy, soft and tender. excellent!

Price bit expensive than other restaurants. Had grilled pork and penné. Grilled pork was seasoned with sweet bbq sauce which is nice.

The place is situated just parallel to rock beach, the places serves the best food with proper spices, the best dish according to me is the prawn pepper fry, please do hv if u visit this place, drinks are best in brands, the place has good ambience.

Nice quiet restaurant. Its homily feeling with good bar. Balcony is better with view of road. Those who like simple but quiet place and interested in chat, may go to this place.

Must visit if you are looking to get a taste of French cuisine. A bit costly but given the place and ambience , it's worth a visit. It's near to the Rock Beach.

|| Long Weekend Visit ||<br/><br/>Like every IT people in Bangalore, even I needed a gateaway for my Long Weekend. So, Puducherry got its second visit from me and my pals.<br/><br/>It was our first night in Puducherry for this time and we went to Le Club for our dinner.<br/><br/>Ambience: The ambience is bright. It feels like you are somewhere near the beaches and thats how the ambience is expected to be.<br/><br/>Staff/Service: The staff and service is good on their part.<br/><br/>Food/Beverages: We had ordered food as if we were dying out of hunger. In starters we ordered Chilli Chicken and Chicken Pepper Fry. Both were good in their part. I liked the Chilli Chicken more. In the main course we ordered SeaFood Fried Rice, Veg Fried Rice, Chicken Pulao and 2 Prawn Malai Curry along with Coke. The seafood used in that particular rice was not properly cooked. Though veg fried rice and pulao were good. Again the Prawn Malai curry did not taste as it should. We could not finish it. The Prawn Malai Curry had prominent cocunut oil taste which was empowering all other flavours.<br/><br/>One thing I would like to mention is that this place is very costly compared to the area standards. The price menu shown in Zomato app differs a lot from the original price menu given in the resturant. And I had one more confusion regarding Alcohol. Though we could see things related to Alcohol there, but they denied serving alcohol don't know why.

Unfortunately this place is closed now and it's called Secret Garden Restaurant. I guess they are still establishing. Wait time is around 1 hr for anything you order

This place has stopped serving alcohol and was very disappointed. I ordered for a cold coffee which looked and tasted like a milkshake .<br/><br/>Ambience is good and the staff is courteous.

I would like for everyone to know that the so called proprietors of Le Club are operating without any trade or alcohol license. My great grandfather Custory de Condappa bought 38 rue Dumas, and it has descended down through my grand father - Joseph de Condappa , father (S T de Condappa) and now to my family, brothers and mother. It was the dearest wishes of my father Stanislaus Thambu de Condappa who suffered from senile dementia in the last years of his life to visit the property where he was born. Due to the disgusting behaviour and sheer illegality of those to whom you pay your money for a one off dinner or lunch, he was denied that last request. Though you may have visited in innocence before I hope you please take notice of my family's pain and suffering for many years and take your business else where. Pamela de Condappa -

Le Club has a nice, relaxed atmosphere and more people who visit the restaurant in the afternoon seem to sit there for hours. <br/>For starters, we had the fried calamari and fried Malabar fish. It was delicious. <br/>For starters we had the fish in white sauce, fried rice, chicken in mushroom sauce and the beef steak. All the dishes were quite good but the beef was over done and ended up being quite rubbery. <br/>The restaurant is quite pricey compared to a lot of other places in the locality but I'd recommend it.

We had prawn in Caribbean sauce and chicken in mustard sauce...food was awesome and the staff was courteous..I might want to come back to just have the food in le club...<br/><br/>Thanks again for the great food..!!!

Loads of food in 1 plate, subtely flavoured mix of French and Indian ingredients. Good ambience and an absolute relaxing place to unwind! Enjoyed it!

Located at d far end of the promenade, this place has some really good food to offer and some relaxed family seating to tuck into a lovely dinner. Woodfired pizza, a well stocked bar. Service is good, food and ambience equally measures up. A good meal for 4 without drinks will be around 3-4K.

Not so happening place! Never ever dare to order Chicken Wings if you are a wings fan. You would be highly disappointed. When it comes to beer, most of them are premium n hard to get strong ones. Over all disappointing place.

No dark skinned Indians allowed. You need to have light skin to get past the security guard. We got turned away twice. We didn't realise it the first time. Both times we were told the restaurant was full but it was only the second time we noticed empty tables, not to mention the large group of people leaving just as we entered. When asked, the security guard told us the restaurant was full and we were free to check from the road. Excellent choice guys. Have fun with your large tips and shitty attitude. Even if you served the best Italian pizza in all of Asia, I'm not eating at your colonial era restaurant with matching attitude to boot.<br/>

Lovely place, lovely ambiance, just next the Pondicherry beach, dining arrangements are good , they play light music with a good lighting, a variety of food menu is available.

The worst place to dine in Pondicherry. The restaurant is overpriced and compared to the pricing the food quality and standard is pathetic. The staffs are highly unprofessional. Compared to the high quality food available nearby at a better price, I would suggest, don't even give it a try. A standard Main course costs min Rs. 500 topped up with a 10 percent service charge and add GST. NOT WORTH IT. Moreover the closing time is 11pm, but the waiters gave the Bill at 10.20 and said that they are closing at 10.30pm.

Ambience- it is good but I have found people mostly of aro@und 45 to 50 age group.. nice music and amazing bar set up with open air seating arrangements..<br/>Service- well ok and better service infact would say a decent service. <br/>Price - a little heavy for you pocket but worth trying it.<br/>Food- well they serve good food.. ordered for Cordon blu and chicken with mushroom sauce.. juicy and tender chicken..<br/>Love their mushroom sauce.<br/>Well had a great experience. <br/>Worth trying this plàce

Food is just OK even though they over charge. Service is average even though they charge a huge service charge. Avoid and spend your money elsewhere.

Next time I crave a steak.. i shall be off to pondicherry...a medium done melt in the mouth steak is what it was ... good service... open air.. better not take kids.. as it's an open bar .. and lots of tobacco smoke around..food is brilliant..a must visit if in pondicherry

It's an overrated place- long time menus with half the items unavailable; even ice cubes weren't available. The staff was averse to seat arrangements and we had to wait for 1 hour. There's no provision for pre-booking. The staff is slow and rude. The food is barely bearable and popular drinks absent. The ambience is the only saving grace. It's really not worth the hype and customer's suffering.

Very close to beach this place is definitely one of the best places to checkin for dinner.!<br/>Ambience is too good with bright lights and spacious seating.<br/>Staff are friendly and service is good.!<br/>We had mix of veg and non-veg varieties.<br/>Started with delicious chicken soup followed by pretty tasty golden fried prawns, squid and chicken strips..Tasted mushroom and paneer starters which I would say are pretty decent.!<br/>We had chicken pizza which is decent and chicken in sauce with fries which again didn’t disappoint us.!<br/>Litchi based mocktails are very good.<br/>And to end with we had coffee custard(not caramel) and chocolate ice cream which made our meal complete.!<br/>Highly recommended.!

This place is more buzzed than it seems. It serves wrong order as well as with no good taste. I visited this place based on reviews and blogs but it did not worked for us. Staff wasn’t attentive. Starting with table to check out everything went wrong. Even the drinks were not chilled.

Probably one the fewest places that serves French cuisine. Lasagna was good and the must try is the "Fried Calamari". However alcohol is costly. The ambience is perfect and the service is good and spontaneous.

After 5 years, i visited today. Had roasted pork and steak with blue cheese and squid masala. All tasted great. But I think i remember skewers were available, earlier. Chill place , good music , friendly staff , quick service . I had the garlic butter prawns , the fried calamari and the cheese beignets which came quickly and were yum . Our bacon crepe was average and though we were warned the seafood BBQ would take time , it took way longer than the 20 minutes . <br/>Don't judge the food by its Presentation.<br/>Alcohol is not cheap here , 75 inr beer was for 250 bucks before taxes were added to the bill .

Food and ambience was good. Bit on expensive side but worth the try. We ordered prawns curry, chicken steak with mushroom sauce & basa fish which was chef's recipe. I must say basa fish was yummy and highlight of the evening. Overall great experience.

We had the best time in pondy at this place. The food was delicious. Atmosphere very lively and happening. I think this place is a bit underrated. We ordered a range of dishes consisting of veg lasagnia, grilled pepper chicken, bengali fish curry, sea food fried rice, paneer butter masala and roti. And evey dish was authentic and delicious. There are very few restaurants which give nothing to complain bout. This being one. We had a lot of fun here. A must visit place if u r in pondy. And location is also a plus. It's nearby promenade beach. 🤘🏽

This is a beautiful place in white town. It is beautifully lit with lights in the evening making the place look extremely pretty. Even in the afternoon the place looks nice.<br/>The staff is very attentive and courteous. They have a pretty fast service and the food is amazing too.<br/>It's a must visit in Pondicherry!

After a walk in the beach 🌊,Been here for a drink 🍹 and the location is very near to beach and we have ordered beer and chicken pepper .The chicken pepper was soo tender and the flavour is very good ,you can feel a tender chicken with a ground pepper.<br/>It was a very good experience.<br/>

Great place in White Town to grab a couple of chilled beers in the garden of a quaint villa. Grilled Chicken, Chef's Special Pizza, Fried Calamari are all delicious. But a special shout out to the Basa Masala Fry, a definite try for those who enjoy spicy food. Engaging staff coupled with quick service ensures a delightful experience.

It is a great place to visit once. It looks much more Beautiful in evening. You can even have your dinner and go for a small walk on the rock beach which is very close to it. The food quality was good but you should improve your service.

One of the oldest restaurant in puducherry serving the French cuisine....<br/><br/>Went there on a Tuesday afternoon where the place was quiet packed got a table near the bar to start with ordered for beer.<br/><br/>For mains we ordered a pasta and a seafood sizzler.<br/><br/>The food was served nicely and presented well when it comes to taste I think everything was made to perfection wether it be the pasta or the sizzler....<br/><br/>Overall worth the price and great experience

A highly over rated restaurant. Nothing great to rave about. Service is average & so is the food. Had few drinks, grilled fish, fried calamari, green salad & steak. Too many lights & too bright which makes the place hotter in  the already existing extreme heat. It looked  like we were there to play a night cricket match. Rates are five star. Also i don't understand the drinks being so expensive in Pondy where liquor is cheap.

Being at Chennai, Pondicherry is a frequent weekend getaway. But this time, aim was good food hunting. <br/>And justice done to the aim and taste buds.<br/> The authentic pizza making by some good old restaurants. One is Le Club. <br/>I specifically loved the pizza and the veg lasagna. I never tasted an awesome lasagna ever. A must visit if you love a explore some food places in Pondicherry along with some awesome yet low priced hard drinks !!

Worst.The food was half cooked. Really the taste and the quality of the food was not good at all. Some dishes were not even cooked , soo raw prawns and the gravy was just of masala.

The service here is very slow and they dont even serve food till 7:30 on a weekend also. The place is not that great..Ambiance was ok ok... nothing new. Nothin great. Many if the drinks in the menu were nit even available...

We had gone to the Le Club on a weekday afternoon at about closing lunch time at 2:30 pm. We were told that our order would be the last for the lunch time. We had asked for a table away from the loud music being played in the restaurant. Even though there were many vacant tables we were told that the other tables are all six seater tables while were only two of us. The six seater tables were actually 3 two sweaters joined together and considering that ours was the last order the manager could have accommodated our request. We sat near the speaker which was loud and when we requested for reducing the volume we were told that the volume controls are inside the management room to which the staff had no access! In spite of such discouraging start we ordered our food and drinks since we didn't have the energy to look for some other place. Out of the wine list mentioned in the menu, half the options were out of stock and so was the beer options. The wine that we finally ordered was stale. The food was mediocre and we left the place unsatisfied and hungry.<br/><br/>We found many other options in the vicinity which were far better in both the quality of service and food.

It was first time that i tried something new in food that too French food amazing experience .I feel French food was classy like Indian food it doesn't make you to crave for eat more.But trying something new in food gives you an amazing experience. And the dishes names are also unique like Ratatouile which is a traditional dish for French.All over the experience was good.

The place is situated in the famous White Town and is a nice place to hang out. They have a variety of dishes to choose from again esp the French onion soup, the fried calamari, and their mind blowing desserts. A must eat place if you are in Pondicherry.

Visited this place for dinner. Beautiful interiors and great music. The mushroom soup is great for vegetarians and my friend enjoyed the French Onion soup and the chicken salad. <br/><br/>The pesto pasta was very average and hasn't been cured properly, the bitter taste was still present. <br/><br/>Further, they don't serve regular water and you have to buy a bottle which is rather weird, considering all restaurants usually serve regular water. <br/><br/>Also, in the middle of my meal, I saw a huge rat run inside the kitchen. It put me off for the rest of the meal and I hope the staff takes care of the situation. <br/><br/>I don't think I'll be back given the current experience.

Please don't go for food here. I mean, yeah the place serves amazing drinks and the ambience is really nice. However, food: not so much. <br/>I got myself a plate of tossed veggies which were more like oil dripping pakoras. <br/><br/>

We went here for a meal . It was a comfortable one. It was a good meal with decent service. We ordered the food and it arrived in time , the staff is polite and are happy to recommend items off the menu. The steaks are nice and generous portions. The chicken 65 was a good recommendation ,spicy and masaledar. The grilled prawns were flavourful too. I won't say it was fabulous but it's was very good. Worth a visit !

Very Goa like vibe to the place. The service was disappointing and so was the food. The prawns and chicken fritters were very oily. One did not want to order after such a heavy starter(s). It felt nice to under a full moon but its a restaurant after all and you cant be dishing out mediocre grub.<br/>Will give this a miss the next time we are there.

Can I rate this place lower? <br/>A bunch of us had visited pondicherry for a few hours and walked for about two km to reach this place. The manager (?)/ bar tender comes to me and says immediately that there is no place for 8 of us and we have to wait. There were two tables of four chairs each. He refused to combine the tables, even though we pointed out that such arrangements were present in the shack for foreign customers. We then asked if we could order food while we waited as we had to leave from pondicherry in a couple of hours, the same guy was extremely rude and asked us if we wanted to stand and eat! These people need to remember that both Indian and foreign customers pay the same for the service and learn how to behave.

Somehow I fell that it's over hyped and over priced. had pasta , it was nothing different from the usual.<br/>The table covers were dirty with food marks, but yes the ambience is good.

Another pricey resto bar located at the end of the beach. The food is average and the quantity is below average. It is really over rated. The cocktails are also okay-ish. The dining is fully outdoors and the landscaping could have been better.

This restaurant is located next to rock beach and it has a great ambience. The outside table arrangement is amazing. It was a saturday night so we didnt get much choice to select table .I will advice to prior booking. We odered garlic bread with cheese .one of the best garlic breads i ever had. Then we ordered pizza which wasnt that great . Do try desserts over here they are realy mouthwatering specialy chocolate cake.

We ordered Amruth over here and the steaks over here is not preferable for sure. The sea food is good and the rare steak was worst off course.

Usually I choose a restaurant based on the ambience and it's location. We were planning to spend some good time with friends in Pondy after evening walk on rock beach and at the first, this place looked a decent one to have a better option for dinner but as they say sometimes.."Unchi dukan fiki Pakwan"( high profile showoff and low on taste).. that's exactly what happened with us when we visited LeClub .. initially their guard was not letting us in, saying the seats are already occupied..But I saw few vacant seats and went to meet the Manager..He gave us a table for 4 people.. and from here the whole pathetic experience started.. the waiters didn't come until we called out for 3-4 times. we ordered pasta, pepper prawn , pepper masala, barbeque chicken, chicken fried rice and some drinks.. the waiter brought the prawns first without even placing the plates and I had to remind him about the plates.. the waiters were just lethargic and not at all good at serving us.. he just came with plates and placed it at one corner of the table.. we had to take initiative to take our plates and then serve on our own.. the food was pathetic..Pepper prawn and pepper chicken had more of pepper than the main ingredient.. pasta was the worst tasting like rotten milk.. we couldn't even take one spoon after tasting the First bite.. only thing with good taste was coke( as the restaurant wasn't able to add their receipe in coke).. overall it was a bad experience.. the total charge for our food for 4 people was 3000 RS and trust me it was not even worth 30 rupees... The hotel management needs to look into it and revive their way the waiters serve and the chefs cook.. Never going to this place again..I gave 1star only for the place and it's location...later on a lighter note, we were thinking that the guard was actually trying to warn us not to try the restaurant by not letting us in earlier.. But damage was already done when we didn't listen to him..

Pathetic service. Disgusting food. Felt like the place was managed by Popeye. Krusty crab serves better food, and it doesn't even exist. When we ask for veg food doesn't mean there shouldn't be flavour. Salt was missing from the dictionary, shrimp tasted like erasers. The chicken sizzler had no sizzle amd I'm pretty sure that the meat was of a bat. Food was lukewarm and looked like vomit.

The best food in Pondi!! Agreed , a little heavy on the pocket but worth every penny !!! Ambience (Interior) is mostly like those of sea side shacks , yet classy with French touch for the exteriors. Loved the overall experience :)

Decent place with a shack vibe. We ordered garlic butter squid, caribbean prawns and shrimp cocktail. The shrimp cocktail was avoidable the butter garlic squid was ordinary but the caribbean prawns were amazing. The bill came out around 1300. Didn't love it but didn't hate it either.

Amazing food, lot of choice. Decor is alright, reminds you of Goa Shacks setup. Good service and comfortable place for family. Decently priced place.

We were staying at Hotel De Pondicherry which is back side of this place. And we truly liked the ambience and food. <br/>Although we actually did not have a full meal at this place but it perceived to be good as it was always buzzing with people.<br/>We ordered Prawn. It was amazing and we all wanted to try other items but we wanted to explore other places so we left.<br/>When the bill arrived we were stumped as it was almost 1500 for the dish+ 1 breezer (inclusive of taxes).<br/>All in all, it surly is place vising but prepared to be shell out for what you order.

Good place and awesome ambiance. Although after visiting I got to know French food is not my cup of tea. Worth mention dish was veg lasagne which is a must try if visiting here. Nice place to have a drink and enjoy French cuisine is you like it :p.

Le club is a beautiful bar and restaurant.. cool ambience and very beautifully lit!! Being a Sunday night.. We had to wait for a while to get a table. We ordered for a sesame fried prawns, and a few drinks to start with. Prawns were beautifully cooked, and were served piping hot.. The accompanying dip was good too.. For the food we ordered a chef special fish and a chicken casserole in red wine. Chef special fish had pan seared basa fish, with vegetables and white sauce. Served with rice. The rice over the fish was very nicely flavored. Chicken casserole was good too. Nice chicken, with vegetables cooked with red wine. Had good flavors too and was served with fries. Overall the food was pretty good. To add on the place is quite expensive as compared to most of the restaurants in pondicherry.... So if you want to spend for good food.. This is a place to be...

The food was alright, but the service attitude was very poor. At the end the waiters at the bar sprayed water over us and our food, and had nothing to offer but a smile and a casual sorry. The food is also well overpriced. There are places in Pondicherry which are far better.

Recently visited Pondicherry and my first meal was in Le Club. A Wednesday afternoon when me and my friend were dying for food this was the place we were looking for. Well located, at the end of the Rock Beach and the decor is quite chill and turns prettier in the evening. We ordered for French Fries and Spaghetti in Pink sauce, cheese garlic bread with a Mojito. The Mojito was amazing and the food was also delicious. Just what we wanted after a long journey to Pondy. Thanks and would love to visit again. Hopefully this time in the evening as it looked more lively in the evening.

The ambience is good and relaxing. However the food is quite expensive with respect to pondicherry. Portions are decent. Waiters are courteous

Just off the promenade... So location wise its a plus. <br/>Ambience has a very cozy laid back vibe to it.. Though we didnt order much the little food that we did order for our daughter was decent enough. <br/><br/>My gripe with it though was the pricing of its drinks.. So i expect restaurants in the main touristy areas to be higher priced so im fine with that.. But what i did not expect was Absolut Vodka to be priced more than a Greygoose.. That was very strange and the staff were clueless about why was it so. So lesson learnt.. just check the prices in the menu before ordering :)

Step into a very laid back but warm and cosy restaurant. Their bar is dotted with mega size balcohol bottles that they have been collecting since they started. I had my eyes on all of then and would love to add them to my collection. But sigh, I had to just be happy by their sight on the bar.<br/><br/>We were settled in the family section and our host for evening appeared very quickly to help us out with our orders. It was a Tuesday evening so the place was empty. Good for us as we got prompt service.<br/><br/>Now the most important part of the review - food. Everything we ordered was fabulous. The butter garlic prawns for the kids was very juicy & lip smacking. The beef stake which I was so longing to eat just was very succulent. My friend ordered a veg pasta to be tossed in olive oil and veggies (out of the menu) and the chef made it just the way she would have liked it. It's like he read her mind from the kitchen. The best dish on the table was the veg lasagne. It just melted in our mouth. It was full of cheese but don't feel cheesey at all as what we have experienced in many places.<br/><br/>The let down I would say was desserts. The cheese case was too dense, dry and pasty and the creame brulae was just about average. But stulk all the food got polished off in a jiffy and we left high and happy.<br/><br/>I would recommend this restaurant for its great food and prompt service.. do check it out when you are next in pondi. . The place is a special one for me - first love :)<br/>So I stayed at Dumas Guest House and Le club is just next to it. Because i was tired and didnt want to go elsewhere for dinner the day I landed in Pondi, I went here. The first thing, the guard at the entrance was so welcoming. The place itself has relaxed vibes. Notjing very fancy but a relaxed open space. I took a seat outside. The music is pleasant enough to not be a noise. The staff is attentive. I was alone and wanted something simple, at the staff's recommendation, ordered the Garden Pizza. I am not a pizza person so wasnt really expecting much -- just something to eat dinner. The wood fired pizza arrived in 10 mins. And my my !!! I was in for a treat. The thin crust was super crisp. The veggies sooo fresh that a pizza felt heavy, The Olive oil was jsut about prefect and the basil garnishing took the pizza to an all together next level of tasty !!! I finished the pizza all to myself, stuffed my stomach but my taste buds were left craving.<br/><br/>Another incident that deserves mention is the Staff's sense of duty and responsibility. I had a very stupid incident happen - I parked my rented scooty in front of the guest house I was staying but forgot the key in there itself.. Came back from the beach to see my scooty missing !! F***. Literally screwed up I felt. But when I woke up the next morning, the guard at Le Club, handed me the keys and said he saw that and kept it with him and parked the scooty inside. He said it was his duty !!! Look at the alertness and attentiveness man !! Truly impressed !!! Thank u again.<br/><br/>Went again for dinner on my last night since I was craving the pizza. Was greeted by the guard, had the same Garden Pizza and nothng changed. Totally loved it. Must Must go !!!

This is a nice restaurant in Pondi that you could go with your family for lovely dinner. In the evenings the ambience is really good and with the sea waves nearby it makes it all the more brilliant. Their Andhra style prawn curry and rice is a nice dish to try. They serve some amazing fish and chips too!

The restaurant is a fine place, a lane behind the promenade, with a welcoming colonial gateway. The restaurant has a casual holiday ambience with relaxed garden chairs and mood lights. The staff is minimalistic but very alert and helpful. We went here for our first dinner in Pondicherry and were very impressed with the standards and food. <br/>We had a prawn with butter garlic as a starter..and loved the intense and complex flavours the basic ingredients brought to the perfectly cooked prawns(categorically deveined) from there it just kept getting better. I ordered for a berry infused rum on the rocks.. And it was heavenly.. Nothing the bartender did but just worth a mention. <br/>Our main course was a chicken pasta, a chicken pizza and grilled fish. The chicken pasta only came with a white sauce, they dont alter the dishes so they did not give us pesto with chicken:(, our pasta came with green peas and some grated regular cheese, not parmesano, neither is any bread served with it.we asked for some bread and they offered a basket of fresh sliced baguettes (we were more than happy)! <br/>The pizza had a lovely crispy base, rich tomatoey sauce with mozzarella cheese melted to perfection! With was full of toppings and infact a lot of other things apart from chicken and mushrooms, as mentioned in the menu) <br/>The star dish was the grilled fish, two fillets of king fish with grilled vegetables and some salad. The fish was fresh, perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked! Also some of the best grilled vegetables i have had! The salad was just some leaves put together with no dressing but it hardly mattered! <br/>The place seems a little overpriced for Pondicherry standards but the food is completely worth it!

Terrible service with average food. We landed here for dinner late evening, the two of us. Almost the entire restaurant was empty bar two tables. When we sat at a table of our choice we were asked to move to a smaller table by the staff. He stated the restaurant will be getting full for dinner and we cant sit there (?) We were made to move to a table right next to the bar counter. When we asked for the manager he was even more rude and refused to help us. We were so pissed! We ended up just ordering a starter and just pushed off as soon as we could and vowed never to return. This happened two years ago and reading some of the latest reviews, looks like nothings changed :/ Is anyone listening?

Awesome food, good ambience, good service by waiters and near to Promenade beach. A little bit higher than other bars but worth the price...

Definitely the most overrated place in pondi! The only thing which is keeping it alive is the food!! The service and hospitality is so poor that even the tasty food can't make up for it! And I'm saying this after visiting this place three times... The only reason I went back was because of the name it has made over the years! And I did not want to judge a place based on one poor experience but three times in a row is something to think about!<br/>And guys please carry cash and do not swipe your card when u visit this place!<br/>Will not visit this place again...

I didn't eat here. But the service and hospitality earns the place a poor review. Upon entering at exactly 9:45 pm, the guard at the door saw a bag in my hand and said, "No outside food allowed." I'd just picked up chocolates at Zuka in Pondi to take back home with me for later. I told the guard, "I'm not going to eat this now," and walked inside.<br/><br/>We saw a table for two that was vacant. I asked the waiter if we could sit there. He said that they're closed. Btw, the entire restaurant was packed at this point. I looked at the time and it was exactly 9.47 pm. Zomato lists closing time as 11 pm, so I mentioned this. He said that they take last orders at 10. I said it isn't 10 yet. He still refused to seat us.<br/><br/>We walked out and went to a smaller cafe with much warmer service and a friendly owner. No matter how highly rated a place is, or how good the food, service and hospitality can make or break a place. Won't be going back here.

Pathetic place. No taste in food. No customer service. When we asked for some ice so waiter said that they have limited water and they can't give you extra ice. Are u serious .. Who says this? Don't you have better excuse? Still we survived and ordered our food and to our surprise the taste is pathetic. They only have location and interiors that too not that cool. So in my views this place is built to ignore.

After expecting a lot from this place, we rushed on a hot afternoon here. The chicken casserole was an absolute let down. when it comes to the ambience, I would recommend it but the food was simply disappointing.

The worst possible place you can be at in Pondicherry. Zero customer service. Made us wait for over an hour even though there were tables available. Management is bad, and let's other people walk in and sit. And has selective attitude for their customers. Avoid.

A must place to visit for youngsters when you are in pondicherry. Good crowd, good food, good music, good collection of drinks for a great holiday...

This is my new favourite place!!!..The best part of the place is that every single rupee you spend here is worth it because of the wholesome experience of it! Will definitely be going back!

One more reason to go back to Puducherry, is to savour the impeccably authentically cooked superlicious food at Lé Club! I'm head over heals, not just at the food, but the ambience, location, service, not necessarily in that order! Me being a vegetarian, I have switched to non-veg very recently due to a health issue, where I'm advised to eat a lot of proteins, especially the ones derived from chicken and fish! And this restaurant perfectly complimented my need, and everything thats cooked is in olive oil, making it that much more interesting and apt! Loved every morsel of whatever that was served. A special thanks to the wonderful waitress Rupali, who was more than courteous!

Any easy, breezy beach shack, that isn't on the beach. Le Club reminds you of the tackily decorated shacks on the tourist infested beaches of North Goa (or Phuket. or Bali.). This one, just off the beach and secluded, is quite nice.<br/><br/>A good place to chill in the afternoon with a few beers and stir fried shell fish of various types. Service is nonchalant and laid back, just like the place. The "classic" seafood appetizers, like Golden Fried Prawn, and Buttered Squid Rings, are perfect for the place. The bottled beer is cold, and that's about all that should matter. The location is awesome. <br/><br/>The only real quibble is that they shut down for a siesta at 3 PM.

Having heard a lot about this eatery and it being my 1st visit to Pondicherry, my friends and I decided to see for ourselves whether it would live up to the hype. And we were not disappointed! The cafe was full at 8pm on Saturday night and we had to wait for 15 mins before getting a table under the fans.<br/><br/>The ambience n decor is minimalistic. But whatever it lacks there is made up fr in the taste of the food.<br/><br/>Food- <br/>The seafood soup- tomato base- was a hit (im a seafood lover so i may be biased but a friend who's definition of non veg starts n ends with just chicken- couldn't stop raving about the soup, even days after returning from Pondicherry) and so were the grilled prawns. My friend had the seafood salad which was delicious as well. The chicken fried rice was great too! <br/><br/>Drinks-<br/><br/>They have a well stocked bar. I ordered a rum based cocktail which was decent, nothing great, over priced though since thrs no indoor seating or ac....<br/><br/>Though some food items were overpriced, taste wise they made up fr the price tag.<br/><br/>Will i visit again- yes definitely!

4 coz not of food, food was damm good and the ambience is ultimate perfect blend. Recommended for dinners as it's an alfresco dining area and pondy is too hot to sit out and relish lunch.... <br/>I reached at 3:30 sharp I have been denied to have lunch though 4 tables were having lunch and I wanted to have beer only with pizza and the person was rude at that point but the same server served during the dinner he was firm at that point too. It was great destiny to not to have lunch there other wise all great.

We had planned our dinner when it was not really a crowded evening. The arrangement was good. We got the table in no time. We ordered a Pizza with Chicken and Mushroom and also Steak with Pepper Sauce ordered well-done. The food came on time. Both Pizza and steak were good. <br/>One thing that bothered me was the fact that it was not a smoke free environment. They should plan to have a smoke free area for people like me who do not want to sit in the midst of the thick smoke. <br/>Other than that the rest were good. Thumps up!

This was my first trip to Pondicherry and this is the first place where we dined. The experience was too good. The restaurant is in the french colony and has a nice ambience about it. The food is delicious and mouth watering. The ambience is a lil reminder of a retro bar cum restaurant. We ordered Classic Caesar salad and Spaghetti Bolognaise. Overall a nice experience 👍👌🍺🍻

Decent ambiance, although the decor needs a touch up. Food certainly seemed a little overpriced. We went for lunch, it was relatively empty. We didn't order alcohol, so can't comment. The bar seemed to be well stocked. We ordered seafood soup, which was delicious, followed by calamari fritters served with a dip, which was okay. We ordered a creole salad which had sliced eggs, potatoes, beet roots, onions and lettuce. We had pork roast, which comes with a heap of french fries. The sauce was a little to sweet for our taste. Service was prompt.

Food was surprisingly good given the ambiance which could be better. Service was fast and courteous. Good for budget meal. There was various types beer and was good

One word -terrible. I must say I was pretty excited to dine at this place. First and foremost the way they manage their crowd is quite sad. Secondly literally one guy manages the orders of the entire place. We had to wait for about 20 mins to get a table which is understandable since the place was crowded. But the point is when there are customers ready to pay the bill and leave , there is no one to fast track this and hence it takes more time to seat the new customers. After all the waiting we finally got a table for two and that was it...the menu takes another ten mins...and finally when you are ready to order, the waiter comes and takes it..and looks everywhere but at you.He was completely distracted and we had to make sure we had his attention..this completely pissed me off. DO NOT RUN A RESTAURANT IF YOU CAN'T MANAGE IT. we did not really have a choice but to sit and wait since every other place was crowded.. And finally after God knows how long the food arrives. We had ordered cheese garlic bread , beef steak with pepper sauce and a vegetarian spiral pasta cooked in red sauce.. The garlic bread looked and tasted like it was made hours ago. The cheese was sprinkled and that was it...just the worst garlic bread I have ever had . the beef steak tasted OK...the pasta was undercooked. The vegetables were undercooked. Quantity sucked big time and they are expensive . it's totally not worth it..just a hyped up place which does a bad restaurant management And horrible food. The only thing which made me sit through this painful experience was the music.. That was it !! So give a second thought before you dine at this place..

There was good music playing as well.<br/><br/>The waiter was friendly and helped us decide what to order.<br/><br/>We ordered the specials of the day-<br/><br/>Beef Steak in Blue cheese and wine sauce<br/><br/>Roasted Pork<br/><br/>The Steak was delicious, excellent cut of meat and cooked well to my liking. The sauce was excellent. The french fries served on the side were crisp.<br/><br/>The roasted pork was also delicious. It was served in a hot and sweet herby sauce, with vegetables on the side.<br/><br/>Our overall experience here was good, although we did feel it was a tad bit overpriced.
