When I visited here & tasted it, I came to know the best shwarma is available here, that's why there's less offer! Try nv here ; it's really the best !! Not too crowded!! Food preparation is fast!!! Easy payment options available!!!! Paytm, card & cash!! Clean environment!!! Take away available Seating available A/C Goli 🥤 soda , coke available Drinking water is paid!!

People looking for halal food here it is ! Had a very intresting experience, at first was sceptical to how the food will be, but gotta tell worth of wait and money. Been here with group of friends almost every one liked the food and service which was provided. Chettinad Chicken gravy + butter naan + biryani + mutton pepper fry + zaffron special juice are must to try dishes. Need to improve on the lighting, a/c weren't working properly & washrooms, except this almost everything were on point.

As per my experience, several visits in last 2 weeks, I would like to recommend chicken items instead of Prawn and Mutton which didn't meet my bare minimum expectations.

We ordered for 4 mint lemon juice. It took about 30 minutes to deliver. The juice wasn't good at all. Please concentrate on the quality. I also noticed a dead cockroach in the ice cream freezer box.

There are some places whose service is bad and there are some places whose food is bad and there is Zaffron. A complete disaster of a place to go and spend your important time and money. Let's talk about the service first, the whole time the staffs were sstanding and chatting themselves. We had to call them for order, water, cutlery sets, bill everything. We were treated like we are serving them not they are serving us.<br/>Now let's talk about the food. The food was so so for most of the part. The Kozi Dazaj and Kozi Veg was good, malai korta was decent but the Lamb in Oyester Sauce was just simply bad. The meat was smelly and tough like a rubber and to be honest you won't be able to differentiate between the gravy with munchurian gravy. When we coumplained about the food they asked us what kind of India gravy you want in a manner that we don't know how Chinese dishes are supposed to be. It was a horrible experience for us and we will never go back to the place again.

We ordered Jeera Rice, Chicken Faham Starter and one Fish Curry. They took the order for Jeera rice but to my disappointment they didn't have Jeera in their kitchen to prepare that Dish. So they brought Ghee rice. The rice and chicken starter were okayish in taste. Fish Curry was good in the Looks, yes topped with cream and cheese, looks pleasing to the eyes noh? . When tasted, it was the Worst fish curry of my life. The fish portions were hard and stale and rotten. It gave a really bad smell and that smell was entirely polluted the fish Curry.<br/>We called the manager and informed him about this, he accepted and agreed that the curry indeed tasted bad and those fish portions were hard! We returned the curry, and they didn't even bother to offer us a replacement or to order something else... They Billed that Dish verry Arrogantly and We had to pay for it!!!! Worssttt!!

I went to this restaurant few weeks ago we ordered tandoor chicken, bbq, naan, palak paneer, mutton briyani and noodles, they served all the food faster but taste of food was average particulary bbq was not tasty and noodles not cooked properly.  They should improve their food quality.

Had a very good experience with my family. The ambience is subtle. Food quality is great. The only place which was open till late in the area while others got closed early.

I ordered mix veg curry and naan. The curry tasted sourish like it has gone bad and when I ate the cauliflower it confirmed my feeling that the curry was spoilt and I felt like puking. Don't order from this place. It is a health hazard, the govt should shut down this place.

Perfect place for a Non- veg meal. Hungry and famished we headed to zaffron and ordered for the pepper barbecue, mixed cheese macaroni and the fish tikka. The food arrived and the pepper bbq was spot on. And when the macroni arrived it was just loaded with chillies 🌶 too spicy and I had to request the waiter to Chand the same and after a brief moment it was reserved, guess what they just added some ketchup to it and tossed it on the pan, 🤦🏻‍♂️ that’s not the way to fix it dude!! Anyway moving on to the fish tikka- OMG the masala on the fish were not cooked and the fish was old and smelly- never gonna try this again. Given you two stars only for two things 1. Horrible food. We ordered around 7 - 8 dishes out of which 2 was ok. Paneer manchurian was all gooey with corn flour, chicken lollipop was tasteless and oil dripping. Biryanis were just ok. PRAWN 65 was awful, looked like bajjis covered with batter and never order seafood if you go there. The prawns were not fresh, they are farm prawns and are tasteless and rubbery. Never ever going there again. Rotis we're very hard too.

Visited the restaurant while in pondy. Wrost service experience. They did not get the order properly and for just a single Bread they took 30min. Hi! My friends and I visited this place oh so many times mainly for the shawarma. The shawarma here tastes really good and i like how they serve it with carrots, chilly and cucumber. I haven't tried the other dishes here but my friends have and i haven't seen them complaining about them. The ambience is not so good but decent. Its a nice place to fulfill your shawarma cravings. The place is easily accessible and is open till late in the night.

Ordered pepper BBQ chicken, mutton biriyani, chicken Rogan Josh and steamed rice.<br/>Pepper BBQ Chicken - seasoning was ok but chicken was extremely dry (overcooked) and I highly doubt that the meat was old!<br/><br/>Mutton Biriyani - 🙄😥Tasted like veg pulav topped with mutton gravy. There were reasonable number of pieces in it, but very very soft and slimy(not as per my liking) and the rice... I couldn't make out what type of rice was used.. It looked like basmati rice but broken during fluffing it....<br/><br/>Chicken Rogan Josh- This gravy tasted good but it's definitely not Chicken Rogan Josh. Tasted like butter chicken.<br/><br/>Steamed rice (for baby) - Needless to say. Basmati rice was poking out like needles... Food are in good taste, but last 5 recent times the service is very very very worst even in lunch and dinner also.<br/><br/>I had waited for more 30 minutes for single Briyani and curry. Went to Zaffron with family and friends. I must say the food was delicious, prepared fresh and served hot. The only issue with the place was it's service. Although the ambiance is good, the service is poor and the food is not that good. The Tandoori items feel cold and not properly grilled most the time.

Very bad service. Claims Air Conditioning but no cooling in there. The waiters aren't around if you need anything. You might as well have to get up from your seat and find one.

Been there for birthday party twice<br/>First one was 2 years ago. I must say the quality of the food dropped in these years. On my recent visit we ordered tandoori chicken, veg fried rice, veg pulao and chicken tikka masala. Fried rice was very good and the pulao was disastrous. Tikka masala was average. And about the tandoori, it was served cold, it was chewy and was very less in quantity. Ambience and sitting arrangement was excellent I must say. Great value for money. The prices are cheap and they have good menu. The Tandoori section is in the front which makes it hard to see when your enter the place and parking is very small. Make sure to mix the biryani well before serving as the masala is at the bottom. No extra charges for additional mayo, yay...

A crowded diner with awesome range of non-veg food.I had my dinner over here with my group and next day we returned here for lunch as every one liked the food.A little improvement is required to reduce the wait time for the customers.That was the only let down but it was worth doing.

This was the nearest non-veg restaurant from our hotel, which is what made us visit this place for dinner on the first night of our stay in Pondi. But the tasty food and reasonable rates of this restaurant made this our venue for lunch & dinner for our entire stay. The North-Indian dishes are pretty decent and tasty, while they offer a wide variety of Arabian cuisine too. The Shawarma, which I tasted, is not too bad, though a bit oilier than it should have been. The Biriyani is also not too spicy and quite light & yummy, as preferred by North Indians (as opposed to the spicy, gravy-added Andhra Biriyani). All in all, a nice restaurant, specially if you are staying at any of the nearby hotels.

Shawarma is good here probably the best in pondy compared to other eateries.But very poor service .My personal tip is to ask whateva u want wen ur food is served.After that no one damn cares.Even water is not served until u ask .

Their shawarma is delicious. One of the best places in Pondicherry to have tandoori and barbaque chicken .love their breads.overall its a good restaurant

Ohh my... Wen ur starving fr gud chicken for days we all just gather up and crash here.. Our frnds all time favorite for their mouthwatering chicken.... <br/>Hours of duties and ur starving and u just cm here and no matter wat time is it they try to get sum hot fud... <br/>Just try wat I say.. Coz there r sum screwed up items in the menus... <br/>Go fr the tandoori chicken u cn choose the flavours according to ur spice levels. . And fr me am content with tht... But if ur experimenting u cn try their kozi Laham... It's mutton Arabian spiced rice sum find it plain... But it's irresistible if u like it... And then be careful in choosing the gravies.. Biriyani and shawarma is gud... And their pista milkshake is gud... They r very customer friendly and they explain the dishes if ur confused on wat to order... Plz do enjoy ur time thr..

This is a decent restaurant, not to expect something classy.! As you enter you can see their shwarmas and their chickens being cooked. It has a seating of 50max. Try their biriyani, tandoori and grill chicken, fried rice, chilli chicken, butter naan, butter chicken, chicken tikka. Some Other dishes weren't good.

Pretty neat & clean in terms of ambience, has 2 sections but both were not even half full on 2 visits which were made to relish their offerings.<br/><br/>Two things that are praiseworthy about this place are food of course & the honesty of the person who takes the orders(I think his name was Rajesh, but I may be wrong). Before I forget about it, the place offers free wifi also :)<br/><br/>Ok, lets move to the honesty of the staff before the food. Will give the example of the one that surprised me the most. I asked the guy who was taking the order 'what would be most fresh, chicken, fish or prawn at that point in time'. Pat came the reply 'sir, even though we are in Puducherry, fish & prawn we serve here are frozen, only chicken is fresh !'. I was taken aback but I appreciate the honesty with which he replied.<br/><br/>Moving on to the food. Across 2 visits, here is what we relished at the place:<br/><br/>Pepper Barbecue Chicken<br/><br/>Whole Chicken marinated in spices out of which pepper is the dominating one, this was wonderful. Well cooked chicken, fall from the bone types with that peppery flavour was amazing.<br/><br/>Grill Chicken<br/><br/>Again whole chicken marinated in spices, can't exactly pin point an overpowering one, but together they created a delicious flavor,<br/><br/>Khuboos<br/><br/>Arabian Phulkas if I can call them, are very similar to phulkas except that they are made with maida. These were pretty good & i gulped down 7-8.<br/><br/>Chicken Tikka Masala<br/><br/>Well Cooked chunks of chicken tikka in a tomato based gravy. The recipe was very much modified to cater to the local palate, was not like the ones I am used to having, but wasn't bad nonetheless.<br/><br/>Schezwan Chicken Fried Rice<br/><br/>One of the best Schezwan Chicken Fried Rice I have had. Schezwan flavor was just right & chunks of chicken were plenty & the rice was well cooked, this was a winning combination, loved it.<br/><br/>Prices are on the 'just right' range, neither high nor low, so definitely value for money considering the quantity.<br/><br/>Will rate the place a 4 on 5 & will surely re visit when I am in Puducherry again.

One word: SHAWARMA. Easily the towns best. Although may not be there at all times. The other flood is also really good. Nice place for a family meal. Service can be a bit sloppy. The food quite compensates for it.

SHAWARMA it's simply amazing here,this is ine of the finest restaurant in pondicherry and the rates are moderate worth the money,the ambience is a bit sloppy but dishes are extraordinary!!must try all chicken dishes they r delicious!!@

It is one of the most affordable and value for money restaurants in town. Do try out their famed Triple Schezwan Rice and Royal Falooda.<br/>Service and delivery can be improved.

Ppl don't try shawarma , barbecue , grill , Briyani here it really sucks here not worth the money u can just try Chinese and tandoori items

The coastal falooda was amazing with the choice of ice cream and dry fruits and fresh fruits .u rarely find fig in a falooda in pondy but here they do .really good experience at zaffron

Ordered for some takeaway as they could not deliver to the house. I was told to pick it up in 15 mins but when i arrived, had to wait more than 1 hour (in the summer heat, in a hall without proper air conditioning). I think the food is good but need to get organised. Hope the management takes some action.

Decent place for good arabian type of food in pondi....Decent prices....average ambiance...good service.<br/><br/>Chicken manchow soup and tomato soup- were palatable.<br/><br/>Dragon chicken-not worth it...taste nothing chinese in it.<br/><br/>Sharwama- the classic of this place...awesum taste...both chicken and the special chicken were good.<br/><br/>Alfahm chicken- screwd up...was burnt...meat not fresh...no much taste.<br/><br/>King prawn fry...nicely done.spicy..but size was nothing in the king's range.<br/><br/>Mushroom fry..whole mushroom dipped in batter n fried...absolutely tastless and a waste.<br/><br/>Jeera rice was done ok..but took almost an hour to be made...!<br/><br/>The starters really make u full...and so we called it a day...but again decent place for a good arabian meal...<br/><br/>

This place is not for vegetarians though!!!<br/><br/>Ordered Some Afghan friend rice ( which is plain ) and it was good. <br/><br/>Loved their Mushroom range too. <br/><br/>My friends Loved the food and Afghan starters here. <br/><br/>Afghan breads are amazing here. <br/><br/>This place is pocket friendly too. <br/><br/>PS: This place stinks non veg (Because of the live counters just at the entrance). If you cannot stand the smell, do not step in.

We went here for lunch and didn't have to wait at all. Shawarma isn't available during lunch. But apart from that, loved the food! The grills and barbeque are average in taste and priced accordingly. A must try would be the kozi dajaj. Negative reviews on zomato made me a little sceptical but the food is delightful. I cannot emphasise this enough, YOU MUST TRY THE KOZI DAJAJ if you visit.

“Unfriendly restaurant for Family”<br/>We went here for dinner (3 families with 2 infants). There are only few non veg Arabian speciality restaurant available in Pondicherry and Zaffron is easily accessible. Parking is not available. You have to park on roadside. We made reservations for 6 and waited outside. Proper waiting space also NA.<br/><br/>There was utter confusion on floor. People were waiting outside and in that family restaurant they allowed youngsters in much inebriated condition(pathetic). We waited for 20" and as soon as table is cleared a bunch of hooligans occupied it and floor manager was not able to clear them or find out a table for us(irresponsible). We left without having food. So unable to commend on Food and Value.<br/><br/>Giving 1 rating as this is the lowest available.

Zaffron is regarded as a decent break from all the "French" restaurants in Pondicherry. Located in a particularly busy part of town, the parking here is a bit of a pain. They have a large menu which really boils down to a few items since most of the dishes are more or less the same. The shawarma roll is pretty good, the Indian bread(naan, kulchas, roti, etc) are excellent, main course curries are cooked well but some may require an extra pinch of salt. The main drawback with this restaurant is that they make you wait for ages. If it's a relatively large order they will prepare everything before they serve you. So because of this, some of the items you order will be cold by the time they arrive at your table.<br/>Zaffron is relatively pocket friendly, as most of the items are moderately priced. 300 per individual.<br/>Overall, it's a decent place to go to if you are looking an Indian restaurant.
