Review Hotel Kaarthik Restaurant - Pondicherry

Dhosa must try.. staff behaviour are good.. atmosphere good.. i ordered fried veg rice, sahi panner, and masala dhosa..

We were recommended to this restaurant by our hotel for the Paper Masala dosa and it did not dissapoint. It is simply huge. I would guess around 50-60cm long with 5 different dishes of sambal and curries to go with it. All of them were delicious as well. And all for R100 (I think) which is incredible value. Can't say about the rest of the menu, but if it is as good as this then well worth the visit. Had a great experience overall

One of the nicest south Indian sit down place in Pondicherry. Really good food and amazing chutneys. Reasonable priced and more often than not you'll find plenty of seating here. If all the other places are too crowded for seating, this one probably won't be because of how big their space is.

During peak hours the crowd is more but they are managing with quick service. The food menu is not so different from other restaurants, but we liked the items we ordered. Kid friendly, dosa sambar is not spicy.

Can't say it was a superb place but yes definitely a decent place to dine in. The ghee dosa which they provide was too large and so tasty that you wouldn't require any accompaniment. Price wise also very budget friendly and we finished with a good filter coffee as well. Can't recommend but at the same time can't deny as well.

Dosai was perfectly crispy and the Iddiyappam was amazing. They get a 5 star rating from me!

We ordered 1 meal, 1 Kothu parota, 1 Chilli parota and 1 plate chapathi. It costs us 470 rupees I feel like it's totally worthy. Quantity was too good.

Hotel Kaarthik is nearer to the BSNL Office, Pondicherry. Very good seating arrangement. Plenty of items available to dine. All the items are tasty. The rates are reasonable. The Elaneer Payasam is very tasty. Neatly maintained. Very good customer service. Good place to dine with family. Car packing is road side only.

Visited this hotel evening time. Nice ambience, Polite and quick service. Hygienic. Tasty food. We ordered rava roast and Lassi. Both of them are tasty. Economical, tasty, south Indian vegetarian hotel.

Very good vegetarian food, with plenty of options with efficient service. Good value for money overall.

Special Veg Biryani alongside gobi 65 is a must to have here. All their dishes are so delicious. Would never skip coming here whenever visiting PDY. Great ambience. Comfortable seating. Pity the people who complain servers' attitude. You go there to have food. Not to be treated like a VIP. Stop expecting people to be nice to you and enjoy the food.

One of the good vegetarian hotels near Manakula Vinayagar temple. The food quality was good and the taste. Ample space but still in peak hrs awaiting time. But no parking space for vehicles.

A decent vegetarian option near . Need to improve on North Indian dishes .Note if you order aloo parota you will not get raitha or pickle or chutney with that , you need to order gravies separately. Always Crowded with tourists. Fairly priced this restaurant appears to thrive on the fact that there are no other reasonably priced vegetarian options nearby

It's approximately 1 o clock in afternoon I went there for lunch with my uncle ordered food it's more crowd that every staffs were busy and I ordered 2 meals and we got it but only the food plate with papad and naan and after while sitting received the food and we wanted to order mushroom munchrian and captain was busy and we tried hard to order finally we ordered mushroom were the waiter said it will take 15 min and we said that was ok and he said mam if you order you will only if your meals was done are you sure you wanted to order 😂😂😂I said that was ok and as he said I received it I am finishing the meals and my suggestion is the lre should be more staffs on afternoon to handle the guest and captain was quarreling at the cash counter we just wanted to go out of crowd we went outside by paying bill at counter food was super spicy and delicious

A pure veg south indian restaurant catering for the local palate. Standard south Indian fare. Had a late breakfast here.<br/>The medhu vadai were crisp and hot the coconut chutney was what a coconut chutney should...the right consistency and fresh coconut. Plain dosa was good and the tamarind chutney was a delight. The masala in the masala dosa seemed to be the same that is served with puris, but was ok.<br/>The cleaning of tables was lax and the steel tumblers for water needed better cleaning and drying.<br/>All apart this is what a decent south indian restaurant should be 🙂👍

Been fan of chilli parota in pondy.searched on zomato and wanted to try it<br/>Tried the chilli parota which taste good. Definitely worth visiting. Served with raitha which was yummy.

We had taken parcel onion uttapam, masala dosa from here. The taste of both the dishes were authentic, south Indian as expected. The quantity was good n price was reasonably affordable.

How come this restaurant is still open !!<br/>Bad service !! Bad taste !!<br/>Manager doesnt even understand the meaning of bad service , he says we are like that !!!

looked like an old south Indian restaurant. I was here with family for lunch and all they had was meals. With no doubt, we were served immediately but the food was cold. None f the curries were warm and  taste wasn't good either. They do not give poori or chapati with the meals its just rice and different curries. The place is not clean and Air con doesnt function. Staff also was not cooperative.

It is a nice place to have food near rock beach. But the only issue is with the food timings, they have the choices according to the timings.

The food was very good and it's value for money but the most pathetic part of their service is the rude behavior of the server. The restaurant may tend to lose customers because of this rude behavior of the server.

Visited this hotel for breakfast and dinner on the same day.We ordered Pongal,Vada,Poori,Paper roast for breakfast and Butter naan,Romali roti,Malai kofta and Ghee masal roast for dinner.All the tiffen items were average nothing special.The roast they provide is quite large and is filling.You cant order other tiffen items if you eat a roast.Coming to the Naan,it was flowing with butter and was very soft.Totally loved it.But the Romali roti was just the opposite,it was dry and hard.Malai Kofta was decent.The pricing is moderate and affordable.Their service is also quick.But the staffs are rude.We asked them to bring the food a little faster but they replied rudely saying that they can only serve when its ready.But worth trying .<br/>Service-2.5/5<br/>Food-3.2/5<br/>Ambience-2.5/5<br/>Pricing-3.5/5

On our way back from Chidambaram yesterday, we stopped over in Pondy for Lunch. We headed to the nearby A2B only to find it too crowded and searched for nearby Veg restaurants as couple of my friends wanted to have veg meals. Hopped into Hotel Kaarthik which was nearby and not much of an ambiance. It was crowded as it was on a holiday and a peak lunch hour. The meals trays were flowing everywhere. <br/><br/>Thanks to the waiter, got ourselves a table at the center. All my friends ordered themselves Thali meals. While I wanted to try out some tiffin. But there was none available except Fried Rice, Biriyani, and Chilli Parotta.  I could understand that as during the lunch time most of the South indian hotels does not serve anything else apart from Thali. I ordered for a veg. Biriyani which surprisingly came alongside the meals. It was hot and a little bit spicy. Tasted well. The waiter who was serving was really amiable and had a good conversation with him amidst all our eating.  I got feedback from my friends that the veg meals was nice and satisfying as well. <br/><br/>Overall, a nice and quick lunch. Nothing over the top. Just your regular popular South Indian Vegetarian restaurant in the neighborhood.

A Traditional place for families to have foods..been here many times and had memorable thoughts spent with family<br/>Rates are normal... and suitable place to spend time with families.

This place is very familiar to us, as we had spent some memorable times here dining and reminiscing our time together. It's not the first visit and definitely won't be our last. We had tried many things here on occasions and it's really remarkable for the versatility in its items. Did I mention it's a vegetarian restaurant? If not then it's the high time to announce that little piece of information. And yet I couldn't have stressed enough on the point that the food here is really tasteful and doesn't put a hole in your pocket.

After a overnight journey from Bengaluru , we landed in Puducherry. The first thing we look for after getting two wheelers was to have breakfast and we ended up getting there. Service was super fast and chuttney were really nice . I only didn't like the stuffing of dosa.

As soon as we entered Pondy and we were waiting for the receptionist to get room, we were escorted to this restaurant by a Good Samaritan. That being a Saturday we were looking out for a vegetarian restaurant and as we were hungry we were looking out for a full-fledged south Indian meals and that we got in Hotel Kaarthik.<br/><br/>In addition to Meals we asked for Special Veg Biryani which wasn’t available so went for Mushroom Fried Rice. Both costed almost the same. Meals had the regular side dishes and sweet. My folks loved the Payasam but I found everything average. And extra oily Appalam was a disaster. <br/><br/>Mushroom Fried Rice too was oily but tasted fine. More than the food it was our server who was friendly. The restaurant was crowded but he had enough time to ask everyone what they want and serve it without hesitation. At least for once I didn’t feel like giving tips unnecessarily.

Hotel Kaarthick!! ... Sounds like a simple normal restaurant...... Its not what you think.... A Neat vegetarian restaurant.. Where you get great meals as well as other items like chapatti, fried rice, noodles.Neatly maintained. If this is the only choice... Don't hesitate!

Ambience: Not much About ambience, as it seems to be a old restaurant.. <br/>Service was Ok .. They have delivered everything on time <br/>Food : we had plain dosha and coffee.. Dosha was crispy nd good in taste as well.. coconut chutney and sambar was too good .. Coffee was very thick and too good.. Just loved it much ... Overall a pocket friendly restaurant in a beautiful location.. :)

The best South Indian buffet @nominal price i.e100 bucks.<br/>Food:<br/>Taste of food was good and the quantity unlimited. There are two restaurants, the underground one has the buffet system and is self service type.<br/>Ambience: Not Great but Good. But the food makes up for it.<br/>Overall verdict : If u are traveling to pondicherry and have a thrifty budget. This place is goin to be heaven for you.<br/>

Best Vegetarian Restaurant. Tandoori Idly and Kaima Parotha are Awesome. Good Family Restaurant for Night Dinner. Nice service managing lot of people at a time.

Had a South Indian Meal/Thali. Everything in the Thali tasted awesome. Also tried the Dosa and Idly both were yum and the chutneys specialy the green colour corinder coconut one was very nice.

Aesthetically pleasing. Affordable to all. Rich taste, abundant quantity, good quality, priced right. Your destination place for a perfect meal from starters to dessert. The place is very descent and is located in the popular region of the city the french colony region. It is a perfect place for family dining and with buddies. It is quite near to the major attractions of the city including manakula vinayagar temple, aurobindo ashram, the rock beach, the library, the park, the secretariat office building, and the major shopping hub of pondicherry the JN street. The place serves all three meals for a day and snacks too in multiple cuisine categories namely south indian, north indian, chinese etc. The place has an intact dessert parlour which serves a variety of ice cream and fresh juice flavours. The place has tv, washroom facilities. Completely air conditioned. The restaurant is little smaller for its customer base and is almost crowded all the time which might be the only disadvantage.

The best vegan place in town. They serve the normal cuisine of chettinadu and south Indian dishes along with north Indian food.<br/>It is a place one must visit during lunch hour as they have a whole meal deal that comprises of various dishes combined.<br/>Rates are pocket friendly and waiters are somewhat approachable.<br/><br/>Don't try the veg biryani!

Good one for veg lovers. Not that much taste average one. Located nearby markets that's the advantage one. All kinds of dosa , idly  available here.

Pretty decent place. Atlst my experience was good as I can see some people's were not so. Normal vegetarian hotel for good idli and dosa. Pricing is way too good about this place.. Good place to hit for breakfast. Service is good. Considering the fact that the waiters don't get time to sit and relax for a moment, they are trying the level best to serve the customers. I went in the weekend and thus it was crowded. Not sure about weekdays though.

Worst restaurant, don't ever go to this place.. food sucks, the service and the attendants horrible, they act as thought we go there for free meals.<br/>1 star is also not worth.. I would give 0.5 just for sake of rating

From outside looks like an above average hotel. So thought of giving a try as the place was near by to my hotel. <br/><br/>So ordered garlic naan and Kadai Paneer for take away. I was in for a surprise when I opened the kadai paneer box, never seen one before like that. But tasted kinda ok. Certainly manageable. The naan was good, the pricing too. <br/><br/>So we went again the next day for an evening bite and ordered spring rolls and tea. I got to say those spring rolls are the worst I ever had in my life. May be should stick with the traditional dishes!!!

Been here once for breakfast, food is good as per quality and taste, it's too crowded for sometimes and deserted for sometimes, people here can not understand the other languages than their native language and it's quite difficult to ask what you want
