Review Malaka Spice - Pune

Ray Ray
I had a delightful dining experience at this restaurant! The ambience is charming, with ample seating space that adds to the comfortable atmosphere. The menu offers a fantastic array of options, catering to both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. I sampled the rice paper spring rolls, veg top hat, and the minced chicken on sugarcane skewers – all of which were exquisite in taste and presentation. The diverse flavors showcased the chef's skillful preparation. To cap off the meal, I indulged in the bread pudding with plum jam, a delightful dessert that left a lasting impression. Overall, the combination of a welcoming ambiance, diverse menu, and delicious dishes make this restaurant a must-visit for anyone seeking a delightful culinary experience.

Tasted Thai green curry, rice , lemony noodles , veg. Tops, dimsum basket which were nice and we enjoyed. Nice cool, green ambience, service. Music was bit loud and of different taste than ours. Good vibes , Good place for pan Asian food with experience. Expensive. 10%Service charges are informed and default included.

Every time I used to pass from that area, and I was completely aware that there was a restaurant but never got a good reason to be there and then I went to this picture-perfect restaurant for my birthday dinner with my family. To my surprise, it was way bigger and very spacious with outdoor settings, which I love the most about restaurants. It was indeed one of the best places I would ever go to have a lavish dinner. Let’s check the pros and cons of this fab place. My experience - The setup was so beautiful. It's totally perfect for special cozy candlelight dinners. The food was amazing. The service was great. The staff were nice. The place is very well maintained and very posh. Very nice and photogenic corners. The quantity according to the price was very nice. The parking place was very nice and spacious with valet. What i dont like I felt that they should add even more lights as I felt the corner area was quite dark. Undoubtedly, I would give this place 5 star and I will take recommend this fab restaurant to all my friends.

This transports you yo Vietnam with its exquisite cuisine. The restaurant's ambiance exudes a warm and inviting vibe, creating the ideal backdrop for a memorable meal. What's truly remarkable is that this culinary journey doesn't come at a steep price; the rates are quite reasonable, making it accessible to a diverse range of patrons. The icing on the cake is their exceptional service. The staff is attentive, friendly, and ensures that your dining experience is nothing short of perfection. Whether you're a fan of Vietnamese food or looking to explore new flavors, Malaka Spice is a must-visit destination that promises a delightful and affordable gastronomic adventure.

This is a classic outlet to try South Asian Cuisine. Service was really good. The waiter assigned for the table would explain you the dish in detail & would make recommendations based on your taste & preference. Dumplings & Singapore fried rice was my favourite out of the dishes we tried. They have Valet parking as well. Highly recommended for friends and family.

It was a lazy lunch & everything about Malaka Spice remains the same.. Same warm welcoming service, attentive staff and delicious food. Although must say that it can get hot outside on bright days. Must try... Veg Top Hats and Veg Murtabak.
Surbhi M
Top Hats and prawns tempura are must try i have visited almost 10 15 times. And its one of my favorite place for dinner date. Staff is also very nice and very humble. Ambience is great. Many vegetarian and vegan options are there. While cricket match the big screen is also there with all the cricket vibe. Many cocktail and mocktails are available. Pina Coloda is yummmm.. And do try virgin version of it.

The place for south-east cuisine in Koregaon Park. This restaurant is very authentic and has a typical taste. Everything that you order will have a particular look and would taste entirely different so one can look for a lot of variety. Their buffets over the week has a lot of options and definitely worth!! They should add soup also in the buffet which is missing currently. Staff is very polite and quick with their service. The open air seating is really nice and feels awesome during evenings. A place that never disappoints !!

Visited Malaka Spice for my first meal in Pune after landing, and it didn't disappoint. Great food, good service, and beautiful outdoor seating...loved the greenery around. Their coconut smokey beer was an absolute delight and a must try!

One of the coolest place to hang over with your friends or to take someone for a date. This place offers variety of unique dishes with their out of the world sauces. We tried cocktails as well and they were made perfectly refining the taste of each ingredients in it. Ambience was classy. Try to visit at night time for outdoor seating.

Malaka Spice is a great place to chill out with family and friends. The decor is very pleasant. Food is very good. Vegetarian Sushi is a must try. Burmese curry noodles are a wholesome meal. Service is also good.

A lovely popular restaurant always busy and packed especially on the weekends. They have a parking space inside. There are two seating areas. We were sitting outside and it was cool and pleasant. We were hosted by Ria. We opted for Boston rolls, prawn tempura rolls and green thai curry with white rice. The boston roll was not a crunchy one as it was a mix of multiple flavour. Didn't prefer this much However, the tempura rolls were good. We were served fresh wooden chopsticks. Ria had been so kind to us. We were talking to her at length. Later, she surprised us with in-house brownie and ice cream. It was too delightful. We were very happy. My evening was wonderful.

Really really awesome place. Not loud. Great food. Drinks are strong. I love the basil rice and panang curry. Arrive early in the evening to avoid rush. Limited parking space is available but valet solves that problem.

It's located in the heart of Koregaon park, on a busy lane. They provided valet parking so that problem is sorted. The food was good. Soups were nice, we tried sweet corn and chicken clear soup. In the starters, the Mongolian Crispy Tofu was great! In mains, Burnt Garlic Rice was ok, however the Phad Thai Noodles were good. The Honey Garlic Chilli Chicken was a good compliment to the rice. The Chocolate Almond Pastry was really good. We were celebrating a birthday, so the staff arranged a nice mango cake for us, which was delicious as well. The service was lightning quick, the only downside is that you end up paying 10% service charge for the same. They had a small playing area with some blocks to entertain the kids (also a fish tank). The ambience was very nice with nicely lit candles on each table. Staff was cordial all the time. Note# very interesting thing that I observed is that the gents washroom had shaving foam as well as mouth wash. Just in case you did not get enough time to prepare :-)

It was my hubby's bday today and we ordered dinner from here. What amazing food. And so well packed. Fresh and tasty.
The Thai Spring rolls and the Thai green curry was just divine.
Good quality food.
Fully satisfied.

Mr mir was very prompt with my order and he handled it very well. Great quality. Thank you malaka spice and Mr mir
Picked up the veg combo meal B. Instead of the raw papaya salad we had the ginger cucumber salad in our box, but that was not a problem since it tasted surprisingly tangy. The spring roll was crispy and yet not dripping with oil. Coriander rice and honey noodles was above average. Lastly, the malaka Thai green curry that had baby corn, capsicum, mushroom and broccoli pieces was a little too sweet to my liking. Overall, a decent dinner combo box.

On a friend’s recommendation I decided to try Malaka Spice. Ordered Basil chicken and burnt garlic rice and both were spot on. The food made me HAPPY. Basil chicken was just how I like it and I’m glad I tried this place. I’d love to try more whenever I’m back in Pune.

Food is simply sumptuous!!Real authentic pan Asian cuisine from the finest kitchen.

I ordered veg spring roll not at all extra oily, Veg Combo 2, and Mutton soup.

What is this place!! We had food from here for the first time and our tastebuds were blown away with the dance of flavors. We ordered veg dishes and had low expectations but they won our hearts on all levels serving size, packing, extras, taste, traditional flavors and so on. We ordered spring rolls, thai red curry,
kari kapitan and roti jhala. Husband eats non vegetarian but in this case even he didn’t complain and nicely licked away the bowls. They sent 4 sauces along and each curry and sauce was unique and had its place. It’s very rarely that we write reviews until too positive or negative and this one was 10 on 10. Thank you for the experience!!

i heart the soups on delivery.. But miss the ambience in covid .. every thing veg I 've tried is good

Ordered Thai Red Curry and Green Pepper Mushrooms directly from Malaka Spice and the delivery service was so fast, convenient and hygienic. The person assisting with my order kept giving me updates on WhatsApp. Cannot get enough of Malaka's delicious food.
Sumukh Kane
Had ordered the non veg combo meal option (one). Good quality and quantity, the packaging was also upto the mark.
Slightly overpriced but still worth a try.
Surabhi
I ordered Kari Kapitan and it was so yummy. I am not a fan of broccoli but when Malaka serves it, I have it all. I cannot wait to dine at Malaka and have all the delicious food. I liked that the food was properly packed and I had a contact less delivery experience.
Loved my Malaka at Home experience. #MalakaFan

The quality and quantity of servings is very good. The food came nicely packaged in good containers. Home delivery was with in the time promised.
Hope you visit the restaurant again once the lock down restrictions are lifted. Till then keep safe and healthy.
Ordered the Veg Burmese khowsuey, it has no vegetables, was tasteless and not all the seasonings were sent. The Nasi Goreng was tasteless. The chicken pad thai was too dry and flavourless. Disappointed, during this lockdown was looking forward to some good Malaka food.

Of course by now, you must have known about the cuisine that I die for. Undoubtedly Oriental! Last winters, on a vacation to Pune, D decided to take me to his favourite Oriental food joint which serves the very authentic Oriental flavours. A date night to Malaka Spice, couldn't have asked more.

We tried Malaka Spice at Koregaon Park and walked in at around 11 pm at night post our hectic travel from Aurangabad. Malaka Spices has been a pioneer at serving the best of authentic Malaysian, Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai, Cambodian and Korean soul food since 1997.

The most iconic South-East Asian restaurants is just about perfect for a weekend brunch with the gang or a quiet date night with the beloved. And that's what we exactly decided to do. The gorgeous al fresco setting under a canopy of colourful hanging umbrellas and Chinese lanterns. The space is airy and full of potted plants at various corners. What I loved about the place was the open bar and kitchen and the amazing colourful hues uplifted the mood with the right choice of soothing music that was on. We chose the outdoor seating as it was too romantic, with candle light to set our mood.

We weren't really in the mood to drink down! So I ordered for a Malaka Iced Tea which had a typical Thai Flavour. For starters I chose Chicken dumplings to keep it simple. But the six different sauces - Chinese chilli oil, Chinese black rice vinegar, Spring onion oil, Ginger vinegar sauce, Tianmian Sauce and spicy red sauc, accompanying the juicy Dumplings was out of the world. I still can't get over the burst of flavours that kind of gripped my taste buds.

This was followed by two mains - Nasi Goreng and Lamb Bulgogi. The Nasi Goreng is a traditional Indonesian rice platter with sweet soy sauce topped with red chilli, crowned with a fried egg and topped with wafers. The chicken satay perfectly done. The Lamb Bulgogi was fantastic, with the crust on the roast leg of lamb based on a Korean barbecue marinade called bulgogi, which means fire meat. The peppery yet sweet note was a solace to the taste buds.

Too full, the gastronomic journey had to certainly end. In desserts, we went simply with a drool worthy chocolate walnut tart with ice cream. Why hunt for a Pan-Asian restaurant when Malaka Spice is right there for you Pune! I am jealous people in Pune. Can't wait to hog on sooner!

Awesome ambience nice crowd good place to relax and chill during weekends

Loved the ambience abd the seating. Spread out over a large area. For starters, ordered Chicken in Pandanu and Thai Mutton Chops. Loved the Chops. It is never easy to make succulent mutton chops given the nature of the meat. But this is highly recommended
In the main course, ordered Malaka Herb Rice and Penang Curry Chicken. Malaka Herb rice is a perfect ally to any curry. With light herbs, it does not distract from the flavours of the curry.
Service was courteous and efficient.

A perfect 5 indeed! I've been in this place many times not just because of the ambiance but also they serve great food. Perhaps one of the best Thai food one can find here in town.

My favourite restaurant in Pune. The punch of flavours is invincible. The city just got better for me ♥️

The food was amazing. They have little touches like using sugar cane for skewers. The food was very flavorful. The drinks were excellent. The have an outdoor seating area as well. Overall it's a beautiful aesthetic, food, and service. They can also accommodate large crowds. Definitely an Instagram zone with areas you can take amazing pictures if you're visiting.

Must try dishes - Chicken thigh thai, Nasi Goreng rice & butter garlic prawns.
Nice ambience with superb tasty dishes.. good place to spend time with your loved ones.. would always prefer dinner instead of lunch due to lovely outdoor seating.. Staff is polite & impressive as well.

The amazing ambience with cute little vietnamese lights and colorful stars was the usp of this place. The asian cuisine with just perfect taste buds was the need of the hour. We tried the filling Laksa- Ma thick soup topped with sprouts, noodles, parsley and some carrot soothing our hunger pangs. The next amazing thing is that the place offers starters in small portions feasible for tasting any new delicacy so we ordered a vegetable tempura and fried tofu. The Pad Thai noodles was okayish and the service speed was mind blowing.

It was a pleasant surprise to find such a place, thanks to wifey. I am not usually a big fan of Pan Asian cuisine, but i guess this restaurant can make you fall in love with the food. We are vegetarians and if that was so good, I won't be surprised if their non-veg dishes are better. The soup, tempura, crispy tofu, pad thai, mocktails, everything was perfectly made for us and the condiments just added to the flavours. A must visit place it is.

This was my first leisure trip to Pune and When I asked for recommendations, every one said that I have to go here!
As soon as we reached, I was in awe of the ambience! It’s beautiful! This place is just perfect for a date night!
The staff was very courteous and hospitable. The one who was looking after our table Suggested us dishes as per our taste.

We tried-

Crispy Lotus Stem- can never go wrong with them! Crispy stems in sweet chilly sauce

Top Hats- It was like canapés only longer with veggies and sprouts. Did not enjoy it a lot as it was too green, healthy and insipid for my taste.

Pad Thai Noodles- They were packed with veggies, the peanuts added crunch to the dish. It was quite delicious.

Over all, had a great experience!
Must visit for fine dine and some wine!

Have been going to malaka since ages.. when I first visited Pune.. n the taste, ambience, vibe everything has remained the same.. or infact better. One of the few places where you can never go wrong.. be it a date, corporate lunch, family dinner. Visited on a weekday and it was packed owing to the buffet they have, but I opted for their ala carte. Tried the duck top hats( a ritual for me) and the chicken paduka or panduka( not sure) but was yummy (no surprises).they have introduced a new range of meads.. tried the thai ginger n kafir lime Mead.. but was unimpressed. Too mild in taste.. switched to the Belgian wheat brew.. n slurrp slurrp.. the perfect accompaniment to the starters.. nice weather, nice bet, nice food, courteous staff.. what else do you need

One place while has always been close to my heart. An institution and a legend for all food lovers, this one place has set the bars for modern Asian cuisine and kept on rising the standards over and over again.

Overall ambience is decent at best, staff service is good but their recommendations are not. Menu items don't have good enough descriptions. Good for Ramen/Japanese food, try elsewhere for snacks/small byte sized meals.
Dhriti Patnaik
I wanted to visit this place having heard a lot about it. Honestly it was a disappointment. The ambience is overrated. We ordered tempered prawns and chicken ramen .. The tempered prawns was extremely oily and didn't taste good..the mango sauce provided with it tasted even worse. This place is bit overrated and i wouldnt visit it again.

Had an amazing evening at thos great venue. Chef kunal took great care and served us the yummiest chicken dimsums. Chiranjeet who served us was very helpful too.

This restaurant is located in Koregaon Park Pune which is a hub for fine dining. It serves Asian food and alcohol. Variety is different than the run of the mill restaurants and service is good. They have an indoor as well as outdoor sitting arrangements. I feel interiors can still be improved. Food is expensive when compared to similar eateries in the locality.

Always had a good time here...valentines day , birthdays and family gatherings

The food is amazing i personally suggest the seafood section.Prawn tempura and skweers for chicken if you need.ON top of this they have STOUT so that like a + brownie points for me.

Good variety of cuisines .. along with good taste its a complete Instagram worthy place .
Ambiance :4/5
Service:5/5
Music: SOber not loud
Food and drinks: Good taste slightly above average cost .. but thats OK since you will have some really helpful staff esp you are celebrating birthdays

One of my favourite places to go for a cosy brunch or dinner. Amazing food!
Supriya Chaubal
Decent deal Rs.699/+ for unlimited starters and drinks. Some starters were good like Pumpkin chips, top hats (chicken) however need to work on veg Thai rolls. Tofu was not fresh. Drinks were made well, service was good
Vineet Parwani
I have been a very old customer but felt the food quality has declined over the years and also the red wine sangria I ordered was only water and juice and on cancelling it the server added some extra wine and give it and on cancelling it again I got charged for two glasses as they were served .... i mean on such expensive fine dine billing also if they do this I think it's wrong...
Apratim Chattaraj
Very nice ambience, the greenery and open seating area give it a very nice vibe. The food is superb and cocktails nice.
Their Mutton Chops, Khao Suey and Ramen were the pick of the dishes.

I liked this place we had visited this place on a Saturday it's got all these umbrella's that make it look so colourful the staff were great they've got music and a good menu I did feel it was a little expensive but over all nice place

The service was efficient and polite. All the food that they served was good. I would definitely recommend this restraunt.

Good food, nasi goreng is yumm, ginger ale is nice. Sushi and dumpling is yum.Staff is courteous. Malaka special chocolate lava cake was not great, nothing special about it.

Ambience is good.. But you should not visit in rainy season.. Also in the evening there is a mosquito problem for sit out.. Service is very good.. But taste is not worth the price..

Certainly, a great place to have a cozy dinner. I happened to visit by chance and had a great service offered. The only negative thing I felt is the wrong description given staff.

*Verdict*

Taste 8/10

Ambiance 9/10
Qty 7/10
Service 9/10
Price 7/10

Value for money 8/10

Buffet is having very less variety. They surely have scope to faster the service. Food and ambience is good.

We came here for dinner.

Ordered the laksa soup (must have!!), dumplings (bit too thick a skin, but vegetable stuffing was nice), vegetable top hat (interesting combination of cabbage, sprout in a baked hat, but ok to skip), crispy lotus stems (must have!!), Hakka noodles with Sambal stir fry (worth trying!, but the sambal stir fry is on the spicier side) and the brownie tart with vanilla ice cream (the usual, would recommend trying some of their unique offerings if interested such as sesame ice cream).

Service was very polite and quick except for one of our orders which they forgot about and had to be reminded.

A bit on the pricier side for the food - Food is great but didn’t find anything as distinctive/ unique for the price point.
Ankur Chakraborty
One of the most recommended places in town. Great ambience with very efficient service. Nothing much to say, 5 🌟 deserving. Highly recommended!

Have been coming here since it was a small eatery many years ago, and it remains on my Pune itinerary.

A working lunch juggling tables between meetings and lunch with first timers - when I got back to the lunch tab was told we had ordered the bottomless something. That’s an unlimited set menu - damn, always difficult to deal with post lunch work. Service is friendly and humble as always.

It was fine medley of chicken mince rolls, pepper fish, , fish skewers, spring rolls, baos, pad Thai, curries and coriander rice. I preferred the red curry to the green one. While I liked the roti of the roti kanai, didn’t get the gravy. Else, everything was very good as always. Had the sesame ice cream - pretty good, and one of co-lunchers said the chocolate rock/ brownie was excellent. Plus we had some fresh lime sodas and cokes. Bill landed up at about Rs. 4,500 for 5 of us.

I need to come back again and have a more leisurely meal and nap after that - the food deserves a good snooze.

One suggestion - can we skip the basa. I know it is inexpensive and easy to work with. But you don’t need to go down that route. You do serve good food and should charge well for it.

This place has survived and thrived for over 20 years now while many others disappear within 3 years - does say a lot! Cheers!

We had wanted to visit Malaka Spice for a while, and thought it would be a great place to take my parents visiting from abroad, as one of the "top" restaurants in Pune, but sadly we were really disappointed.

The duck dish was inedible, hardly any duck meat which was too tough to chew and the sauce was flavorless. After having duck in over 4 different countries, this is not what we expected, and if I had tried it here first I would probably have never tried it anywhere again. The mushroom dish we ordered had almost the same taste as the duck sauce, and was not impressive.

The pad thai had way too much tamarind (I've had the same dish at their Phoenix Mall location and it was much much better). The only saving grace was the chicken tempura.

The staff did waive the duck off the bill and offered complimentary veg top hats, but quite honestly it did not compensate for what we expected to be a memorable family meal. Apprehensive to return, but if I do, the food will really need to impress.
Karansb
Great place for Oriental food. From the settings - the scale models of medieval ships being a special attraction - to the service to the food, it was a memorable experience. Al fresco dining is great in the post-monsoon season.
Aarti Thakarey
Had been to this place after a friend recommended to try out Thai Curry. Courteous hospitality by the staff- Gyaan made the entire experience exceptional coupled with great ambience ofcourse. It's a quiet cosy place amidst in lanes of Koregaon Park. Quantity wise the food could easily serve 4 of us. So thumbs up to that as well.
Piyusha Singh
Not very happy with the food standard. The noodles were dry and distasteful, so much that we had to leave most of it on the plate. Manager not very friendly too. His response when we said that food isn’t tasting good was - “okay”

Intended Rating - 4.5/5Malaka Spice has been one of the most celebrated restaurants in pune.
It has been a doyen when it comes to serving south east asian food.
Recently, I got a chance to visit them.

#Ambience

The ambience is fantastic -both inside and outside. During my visit, we were seated outside as we reached at around 4 pm when the indoor section is closed.
The seating is quite comfortable with tiled tables and wood-seat chairs.
The bamboo plants around and the round lights hanging all around aim to create the quintessential south east asian surroundings.

#Service

The service was of top notch quality and we were served with utmost sincerity and warmth.
All our requests were accepted gleefully and we were helped in deciding our order.

#Food

We ordered the following during our visit-

Thai Mutton Chops- This is the MUST dish to be ordered , if you eat mutton and are visiting Malaka Spice. It comprises of juicy and succulent mutton chops done in delicious sauce. It is so flavourful, that you feel like repeating it over and over again.

#HIGHLYRECOMMENDED

Singapore Chilli Prawn Noodles- The noodles were done to perfection and had good mix of vegetables along with prawns. The spice and sauces used while cooking created the perfect taste for us.

Green Pepper Chicken- To accompany the noodles, we ordered green pepper chicken. Now, I was quite skeptical for the fact that I had a notion that we only get coconut milk based main course dishes at Malaka Spice. Since, I don't like coconut milk in my food, I was not too keen to order any main course at all. but, to my pleasant surprise, they did have a fairly sizable section in their menu having dishes which don't use coconut milk. We suggested the captain to advise us and he told us to go for Green pepper chicken. It was a semi gravy dish in which boneless chicken chunks were done in a lip smacking gravy filled with veggies. We loved it to the T and it went beautifully with the noodles.

#HighlyRecommended

The total bill was 1500 INR which was a bit expensive.
But still, I cant wait for my next visit to Malaka Spice.

We headed to this place after a hectic day at work. And since we were away from home, we were wanting to explore a peaceful location with good food. Malaka Spice proved to be just the right fit.
We thoroughly enjoyed the meal (for most of which we trusted on the staff at Malaka Spice).
We had -
Top Hats (4/5)
Pumpkin Chips (5/5) - Must try at Malaka Spice
Burmese Curry Noodles (4/5) - Even though the menu says, it serves one, two of us were unable to finish it.
Jaggery Ice Crea, (6/5) The MOST amazing ice cream I ever had
For drinks, we ordered Malaka Ice Tea and Malaka Sling. Both of which were refreshing and tasty.

I just have one suggestion for them, to open an outlet in Mumbai :P

Definitely a must visit place, if you are in Pune

Keep up the good work Malaka Spice

Stunning food and a fantastic ambience. Was a joy to discover such a brilliant restaurant in Pune. Went there after a visit to the Entertainment Store, which is just around the corner and had an incredible meal here.
Between my friend Gaurav and me we had a couple of starters and a teppanyaki fried rice! And every item was impeccable.
Totally recommend it and can't wait to go back here with Neha! 😊

Addedum: Finally came back here with Neha. And everything we had was brilliant! Can't say enough good things about this place.

I have been going here for years and I have never been disappointed.
Great customer service. Scrumptious food. Everything tastes just perfect. Ambience is relaxing and comforting. It's cozy and beautiful.

I had great expectations as last time food was excellent, however this time I did a mistake of asking waiter to suggest and he brought cold soup and noodles bad experience.

Tried this restaurant recently. I loved the restaurant space and it's quiet and elegant ambience.
The menu card was very informative. Also, the staff was co-operative and knowledgeable about the dishes mentioned.
They serve three dippings -
Sweet chilli sauce
Tomato salsa
Peanut sauce

In Mocktails, I ordered for Malaka Iced tea. Loved it.

We first ordered for Kam Heong Chicken - Chicken wings in sweet and spicy sauce, with red chillies and curry leaves. Chicken was cooked well. The wings are stir fried, hence the coating has a texture that is a combination of crispy and sticky. Goes well with the chilli sauce.

Next was the Thai Mutton Chops - This was the best one. The meat was juicy and cooked to perfection. They were grilled in a pepper and soya sauce. That's what I could taste from the marinade. Something different from the regular Indian masala marinade.

In seafood we ordered Kari Leaf Prawns - Prawns were deep fried with egg coating with Curry leaves tadka. Awesome flavour and the prawns were fresh. This dish goes well the tomato salsa.

For the main course, we ordered Singapore Chilli Noodles (our choice was flat noodles with chicken). It wasn't too spicy. The sauce was thick and covered the noodles well. I would have preferred a little more spicy version.

Last but not the least, for dessert we had - Malaka Magic Choco Lava. Hot chocolate syrup gets poured onto the chocolate cake. It creates a hole in the centre of the cake and the molten choco lava oozes out. Yummmm! It was served with one scoop of vanilla ice cream. The cake was superd. A happy ending to the meal.

Overall it's an amazing dining experience. Good food with great ambience and friendly service.

Great food, ambience and friendly staff. We tried the chicken top hats, some malaysian delicacies mainly kari kapitan with roti jala(literally net crepes). Definitely going back to try more as they seem to have quite an interesting menu and have done justice to the south east asian flavors !

We love Malaka Spice!. Both delicious.

Fish satay was a bit on the salty side and penang curry was super spicy eventhough we requested mild spicy so definitely be attentive to the spice levels when you make a request.

The waiter was nice to offer complimentary jaggery ice cream which was delicious.

Love coming here. Cant wait to try more of their dishes.

Have visited Malaka Spice quite a number of times and really love the food here. It's a nice place to spend sometime with family and friends with a good ambience and some great Asian food.
Here's what I tried:

1. Chicken Top Hats (3.5/5): Chicken with sprouts in fried cups. Served with 3 types of sauces. The taste was good. It's supposed to be famous here. I found it slightly overhyped.

2. Crispy Lotus Stem (4.5/5): Really loved this.

3. Pumpkin Chips (5/5): A unique way to make you eat the dreaded Pumpkin in the most delicious form. Ended up ordering a second plate. Highly Recommended.

4. Vegetable Kebabs on Sugarcane Skewers (3.5/5)

5. Malay Grilled Chicken (3/5): A little too dry and bland for my taste.

6. Chicken Thigh Thai (3.5/5): An extremely spicy chicken preparation.

7. Kari Kapitan (5/5): Just loved this. This my go-to dish every time I visit. Pairs well with Roti Canai and Roti Jhala. Highly Recommended

8. Vietnam Topaz Curry (4/5): Strong lemongrass flavour. Taste was good.

9. Burmese Curry Noodles (5/5): One of the best Khao Sueys in the city. Served with fried garlic, onion, peanuts, spring onion. Highly Recommended.

10. Malaka Magic Choco Lava (5/5): Don't miss on it. It even has a little theatre in its presentation. Highly Recommended.

To sum it up, Malaka Spice is one of the best restaurants in town for amazing Asian cuisine.
