Review Flying Duck Co. - Pune

This place is located at one of the most happening and buzz place that is the Balewadi High street. And this place is creating its own buzz among the restaurants by the food they serve. They are serving some authentic Asian and European dishes. For these dishes they import all kind of raw material needed. This is what makes then stand out of the crowd. This place is a crazy place. Perfect volume music to compliment with your food. Amazing cocktails to have. And the food is something everyone will praise. The food is just amazing. They have paid small attention to each things going into the food. This place is in my top 3 favourite restaurant now.

I recently visited this amazing place situated in Balewadi high street premises, I heard a lot about this place from my non-vegetarian friends and being a vegetarian I always thought that this restaurant must be only good at non-veg dishes but as I tried their delicious vegetarian delicacies I was literally blown away with the taste and the very unorthodox style of preparation of these dishes. Ambience:- This place is hands down gorgeous with an unconventional interior and a pretty outside seating, it has a tremendous bar and every week they have a live performance which is a treat to watch while you enjoy your meal. Food:- I went with a few of my friends we tried a lot of dishes and Being a vegetarian I can tell you that every veg dish I tasted was top notch, I had a few non-vegetarian friends with me as well and I speak for them as well, we had an absolute blast and trust me right from the starters to desserts everything was stupendous. Quality:- The most amazing thing at the restaurant was the quality of the food as every dish that was served to us was stunning and the presentation literally stole my heart. Service:- The service was absolutely magnificent as the food served to us was piping hot and they were very observant as they gave us the next dish as we finished the last one, the owner was really friendly and very knowledgable about his dishes as he told us about all the dishes and what goes into preparing these breathtaking dishes. Hygiene:- The staff and the owner was very particular about the cleanliness of the place. I would recommend this place, you guys should definitely visit if you're looking for something distinctive.

The flying Duck is a super cool amazing place for foodies which servers some great chicken, buff, pork & sea food. For the soups we opted for Asian Asparagus in veg & the uber cool Crab soup. Both of them seemed to be their best sellers. The Asian Asparagus had an amazing hot feel & was totally yummy. The crab was a little pungent since it had the real taste but was great in taste. Needless to say both were totally healthy. For starters we went for Crispy water Chestnuts with Green Beans, which was till dates best chestnuts i've ever had. It was perfectly tossed with the right spices & amazingly cooked. Honey Chilli Crispy Potato & cottage cheese fingers. Both of them were super tasty but my personal fav was the cottage cheese fingers. This with a mug of beer would be a perfect combination for veg boozers. In non veg we had thai grilled chicken, Pan tossed pepper chicken, fish & chips, roasted lamb slivers, twice cooked pork belly, FDC Shredded duck & mac & cheese balls. My favorite amongst all was the grilled chicken, pepper chicken & the amazing fish & chips. Freshness was seen in the entire menu. Do not miss the Indonesian gado gado & ceaser salads. It was just perfect. In the mains we had, Buff stew, Burmese chicken khow suey, singapore chilli prawn & stir fry seasonal veggies with tofu. The tofu in the stir fry veggies was the best i have ever had. A must try here is the burmese chicken, turst me guys it comes with a perfectly cooked yellow gravy & it taste's just perfect. The prawns too were good. Gnocchi in basil pesto & Spaghetti with lamb meatballs are the best pasta's they serve. Do not forget to try their mind blowing mango Pannacotta & Tiramisu in desserts. It has a super cool range of cocktails & mocktails. The famous ones are Crossfire, Marooned, Kind Blue & Aja. They come with the world leading spirits & actually knocks. Overall a great place to chill & have a good time. Food shall take some time to be served, but the freshness in the same is clearly seen making it worth the wait.

When in Pune, this place is a must visit, where you can get variety of dishes from continental to Indian including fusion of these two cuisines. We tried multiple things and everything was just awesome. They had perfect presentation of the dish, aroma was splendid and the staff, service was superb. So we Started with soups - Ton yum prawns soup - It was full of veggies along with the prawns. It was very spicy and tangy in taste. I liked the flavours. Perfect appetizer to start with. Potatoes & leek Soup - Very rich and creamy texture it had. It was going well with the bread sticks & butter. Very mild or low spices were used. Greek Country Salad - very fresh tangy and full of green leafy vegetables along with cottage cheese. It was bit salty according to my palate. Vietanamese Shrimp Salad - It was very tangy and sour in taste. It was Very fresh and it had assorted vegetables, shrimps and falooda in it. We also tried multiple mocktails and those all have my heart💓 Coming to the starters we had their - Soft Shell Tacos with spinach, cheese and corn - Simple tacos flat bread filled with lots of cheese and corn with a hint of spinach in it. It was served with two sauces, they are Mustard and tamarind sauce. It was good in taste and perfect for your hunger pangs. Stuffed Okra with ghost chilli - Never thought that our common vegetable like lady finger can taste so good. Very innovative dish. Okra's were marinated in flour and were deep fried. At first, when you eat it, it won't give you that chilly flavour but when once you finish eating it will leave behind that ghost chilly flavour. Crispy Water chestnuts with green beans - Very innovative dish. I can bet you, you won't get this dish easily in any other restaurants. I loved this starter. It was perfect in flavours and was having the natural crispiness of water chestnuts. It was tossed in soy sauce, tomato and chilly sauces and it was served with stir fried beans. Charcoal Smoked Paneer Tikka - It was spicy in taste and was perfectly cooked in the smoke which was giving smoky flavour. It was served with salad and green chutney. Awesome in taste and paneer was very soft. Loaded Desi Devil Eggs - It was simple yet fusion dish made by the hard boiled eggs. They separated the yolk and egg whites. Stir fried egg whites with spices and mashed yolks, mixed it with diced onions, tomatoes and then they filled this filling in the egg whites. Perfect appetizer and very healthy. Chicken Tikka - It was chicken malai tikka, white chicken marinated in hung curd, spices and then slowly cooked in tandoor. It was less spicy and had creamy texture. It was again served with salad and chutney. Caribbean Chicken Skewers - Chicken flesh wrapped around a stick, tossed with sauces. Slightly sweet and tangy in taste at the same time. Barbecue Chicken - what a beautiful presentation this dish had. You will love the dish at its first look. Soft and tender Boneless Chicken was cooked in the barbecue sauce. I loved the flavours. It was just perfect. Roasted lamb Slivers - Again boneless meat dish. I wasn't impressed with the dish much as the mutton was pretty and hard and wasn't chewy. Otherwise the flavour was fine. But it wasn't going with my palate. Cottage cheese steak with Mushroom pilaf - We were served grilled cottage cheese full of spices with stir fried assorted vegetables with a dip and flavoured rice. Other main course that we tried were Thai red Chicken curry with rice, spaghetti with meatballs, royal scam, etc. In the desserts we tried Orange Chocolate Mousse, Tiramisu and Mango Pannacotta and loved them all to the core. Mango Pannacotta is must try!!!

Flying Duck CO. Flying Duck Co. is located on Balewadi High Street road in Park Granduer project. The restaurant serves European and Asian cuisines. The décor of this place is modern and elegant. As soon as you enter you can see a huge and inviting bar section, they have indoor and outdoor seating arrangement, the indoor section is divided into two sections, one section is lounge area with sofa and chandelier and another has regular tables and chairs, both section are comfortable. In spite of being under the same roof these two sections have their own charm and are distinctive. One of the key highlight of the décor is a section where dummy men are seen climbing the stairs going toward the roof. The section is so beautifully designed that you might feel it’s real. I recently visited this place to check out their menu. Soup Daeng Jang Jiggae [Rs 290]: A soup prepared from fermented soya bean, tofu and in house prepared kimchi, the flavors were rich and it had a nice hint of ginger and was slightly spicy in taste. #Highlyrecommended. FDC Special Duck Soup [Rs 310]: Medium thick broth with duck meat pieces along with skin on it was excellent it taste. It was mild on flavors but was really impressive. The portion of this dish is really huge and can be quite filling. #Musthave Appetisers Indonesian Cottage Cheese [Rs 200] Paneer done in plum sauce, honey and peanuts had crispy coating and was slightly sweet-tart in taste. I liked it. #Recommended Prawns & Olives Skewers [Rs 490]: Prawns marinated in mustard was served along with garlic aioli was superb in taste. I had never tried such combination before and I was impressed with the flavors. #Recommedned FDC Shredded Duck [Rs 675]: Duck done in pakchoy, bell peppers and scallions was excellent in taste. The duck meat flavor did come out very nicely and was soft and juicy. #Musthave Ghost Pepper Chicken Wings [Rs 450]: Exceptional! Chicken wings done in Ghost Pepper a.k.a Bhoot Jolokia was undoubtedly the best chicken wings which I have had. It was fiery the spicy punch was too good. The wings were cooked to perfection. Definitlety this dish is not everyone’s cup of tea but trust me those who are used to eat spicy food will love this one. #WinnerForMe Mains Veg Khowsuey [Rs 440]: Assorted veggies in an rich and aromatic curry along with garlic noodles was served along with condiments and it was good in taste. The portion size was also good and would be sufficient for 2-3 people. #Recommended Pla Nueng Mango: Steamed catfish served along with a pungent lime chilli and garlic sauce was also nicely done. I was almost full after having so many dishes so couldn’t have this dish properly, may be next time. #Recommended Desserts Chocolate Mousse [Rs 280]:The chocolate mousse was rich in taste with subtle hint of orange, it was soft, light and was served chilled. #Highlyrecommended Tiramisu [Rs 380]: I am a huge fan of tiramisu and undoubtedly FDC serves one of the best tiramisu which I have tried. Rich, creamy and strong flavors of coffee. This one has rum in it and the rum punch is heavenly. #Musthave Mango Pannacotta: Yet another stunner from the desserts menu. The panna cotta was extremely well executed with nice mango flavor and the texture was brilliant. Indeed a #Musthave from the menu. The desserts are so good that I wouldn’t mind travelling all the way to baner only to have these sinful desserts, especially the Tiramisu. Overall: Service was quick and restaurant was hygienic. Pricing is also reasonable. The menu is quite extensive and is brilliantly curated. The staff was polite and friendly. All dishes were superb on presentation level. Thanks a lot Team FDC for hosting us. I would strongly recommend FDC for people who want to have a good time along with your friends and family. Location: Park Grandeur, Opp BHS, Baner Balewadi Road, Balewadi, Pune.

The food is really good. We tried several dishes and all of them turned out to be good. In each of the dishes the meat - duck, chicken, and pork - was cooked to a succulent tenderness. The ramen had a welcome fire in it. The service is quite good, with knowledgeable and friendly staff. The only downside was that the music was too loud. At the end of the evening, we were left with aching ears. We did request the staff to turn it down, but that helped only marginally. Parking on busy weekends is a problem, but fortunately they have valet service which helps.

Balewadi High Street is very happening and so is this place! It has soothing seating area ( open as well), courteous staff and a very friendly owner who knows how to treat the customers well, do not forget to have desserts at this place, just perfect! I tried quiet a lot from their menu : Daeng jang jiggae - This soup had vegetables, Tofu and the curry which was a little pungent as mentioned before we tried this but it could not felt. The taste was upto mark Singaporean Mini Rolls - Tried this kind of rolls for the first time. The stuffing was done with vegetables and cashew and peanuts, the taste was spicy and sweet at the same time Poached Pear and Greens Salad - This salad looked so good that I was very eager to have a taste, no special sauces used, on a very healthier side, had lots of green vegetables,Poached Pear was just amazing and garnished with pomegranate Indonesian Cottage Cheese - This starter had quantity good enough for two people, cottage cheese was a lil crispy, well done with sauces and tasty as well Ghost Chilli Rub Cottage Cheese & Aloo Tikka - this is for the people with a spicy tongue, paneer tikka flavour with Tandoori aloo made a very good combination Crispy water chestnuts with green beans - Very crispy water chestnuts soaked in sauces and combined with green beans had a comforting taste Burmese Khow Suey - Now this mains if for people who love Burmese dishes # so colorful combinations were provided and curry was very tasty Masamman Tofu and Potatoes Curry - This curry was provided with rice, was well enough to satisfy my hunger pangs Strat Cat - Citrus and spiced double Jameson this is a must try, loved this cocktail, cinnamon was spiced perfectly in Jameson and I had three of it #highlyrecommended The Fez - Elder Flower and double Tennesse - the flower was too beautiful to be combined with this drink, for people who love mild flavours Mango Pannacotta - I have to admit,I have never had such perfect pannacotta, just brilliant, had two of these, pannacotta was topped with mango pulp, and pomegranate seeds, I can go to this place again and again just to have this #musthave #highlyrecommended Tiramisu - Tiramisu needs no description, layers of rum and coffee made a heavenly combination and it was so so soft #highlyrecommended Chocolate Mousse - such a soft mousse and not so sweet, chocolate had a good balance in it and it was super silky in texture and taste as well #mousselovers

oh the migrated duck had flown out of every competition's range ... bigger and better, the place comes packed with a punch in the balewadi high street locale... after all the raving i heard about this place, finally visited today ... and ... the 5 stars dont justify the food that the place has ... the ambience is classy and relative to the fine dine experience offered by the place ... also the owners made sure that every table was served with not just their orders but a personal touch as well ... we were mostly sipping on cocktails which were on the higher side of the price range but they packed a punch ... and they were extremely tasty we hardly drank as the food was so tempting ... i had heared about the pork chops, though i cant eat much of red meat, those pork chops could not have stopped me from going into an eternal stomach ache ... pan tossed prawns with water chestnuts was probably the best starter i had till now ... the crisp, perfectly fried prawns were just heavenly ... we also ordered the southern fried chicken which was kind of good but the sauce made it better, also the thai grilled chicken and the khow suey was just tasty as hell ... Singapore chilli prawns with rice, creamy dish just made the dinner all the more better, making sure that the quench for alcohol thirst was mitirgated all together ... and the end of it all ... even though priced in the higher range of fine dine places, the food and ambience just made it worth every penny spent ... if u want ur taste palates to bedazzled i highly recommend this place!!

Lovely ambiance, Perfect location on Baner Pashan Link Road, Great food, good, quick service, polite owners all made up my evening! It opened recently, close to my place on Baner Pashan Link road. I had the most delicious Burmese Khou Soi in town! Try it out if you go there. The spices were added just rightly and they blended well with the taste buds. The noodles were cooked right and the chicken curry with the noodles was delicious and had just the right amount of spices and the taste was just perfect. All in all it was just a perfect evening out and a good Burmese Khou Soi is what I got at the end of the day and it happens to be one of my favorite dishes in the world! It is one of the best I've had in town so far. Value for money too. It is a meat specialty restaurant with pork, chicken, lamb, duck, quail and fish on the menu. Pork will be introduced very soon. Definitely a must-visit restaurant!

Amazing place. Great variety of meat available. Pork chops is the standout dish here, just cant be missed. The spicy chicken(one with But Jolokia chilly) is a challenge for people claiming to have a higher tolerance to spicy food. Quail along with Duck are also among their specialities. Highly recommended place. Cheers!

I hardly come back and write a review about a place. However, this one deserves certain words. Can be said one of the best places for an elite dinner, suited with nicest ambience and flavoured with some amazing music and live sports-streams. I honestly had one amazing time here. Team, keep sailing to the best!

It's quite amazing to get to eat different varieties of meat and also which are very delicious and worth the price tagged. Man..., the smoked pork with bamboo shoot, is just to die for. Didn't get to experience dining there as I picked up parcel. But me and my fiancée had a delicious dine at home.

Staffs friendly, congested place and the food quality can definitely be improved and does require it too.

Flying Duck flies high! The Flying Duck has been flying really high on social media and for all the right reasons. With their passion for food as the main driving force, Alakesh and Minakshi have come up with this cute little place on the Baner – Pashan Link Road. Currently accommodating only 6 tables indoors and outdoors, they provide personalized service to all their customers, right from taking the order [including recommending a few dishes based on the customer’s preferences] to even clearing the plates and wiping down sometimes – there is nothing they are not hands-on with. We ordered the Pork Chops [Rs. 330] as starters along with Fresh Lime Soda [Rs. 40] as thirst quenchers to kick off our meal. While taking down the order, Alakesh did set the expectations on the high wait time simply because everything about the dish, right from the sauce, is prepared fresh only once the order is placed. The chops were delicious to say the least, with the meat quite literally falling off the bones. It was as easy to bite into it using your bare hands as it was to cut [more like slide] the meat off the bones with your knife and fork. Chicken with Spicy Sauce [Rs. 290] and Quail with Special Sauce and Butter Rice [Rs. 320] were our orders from the main course. Two dishes highly recommended on social media and now I can see why. The chicken was served with a sunny side up egg, vegetables and butter rice. The sauce used to prepare the dish was delicious and the egg only enhanced the flavors of the dish. The quail is a meat not often available and even rarely served in Pune so was quite excited to taste it. It looked appetizing from the moment it was served to us. Nicely cooked and coated quails served with butter rice and a small pot of their special sauce. And boy was this one special. Simply loved the sauce and it went very well with the quail meat as well as with the butter rice. “Ungliyaan chat te reh jaoge” – is quite apt in this case as we literally dug into the dish with our fingers. The only feedback we gave was that the butter from the rice and the oil used in the sauce made the dish a bit too much oily, especially when you tried the sauce with rice combination. Alakesh was gracious enough to accept the feedback and assured us he will look into how he can work on that. Funny story as to how the name of the place came to be. Being Assamese, the partners, they wanted to feature the duck which is a delicacy in the North Eastern region and also as a tangential reference to the other 4 letter word which rhymes with duck, about not giving a “flying f**k” to something. Their intense passion in coming up with this outlet with the kind of food they serve has to be seen to believe it. And the food too speaks for itself. Alakesh has informed us that he is working on pruning the menu from the current 50+ items to around 18-20 items which will enable them to focus more on their signature dishes and also cut down on the wait time. Looking forward to seeing which dishes make the cut and which don’t. This review is a narrative of my experience at the event. Food was average and I'd rate this place higher in ambience than food and the menu. Tirmisu and another soup requested was unavailable. What is worth mentioning is the episode when called for the check. Please note the bill image. I was told "compute isn't working" and given this handwritten bill. Firstly, instead of lasagna, the bill mentioned Musakka which was priced Rs. 10 higher than Lasagna. I was charged "VAT & GST" both being at 5% of the bill amount. As far as my knowledge goes, the total tax (GST for restaurants) is 5%. Here, there was VAT (in spite of no liquor) that too at 5%. Also Note that No GSTIN on bill copy. After reporting this, the restaurant staff seemed confused and hesitant. Finally after showing them that GST should be 5%, I was asked to pay the reduced amount. I demanded a corrected copy of the bill to which I was told that they 'will whatsapp me' and noted my contact. It's been a week and I'm yet to get a copy of the same. My request to all you guys: Please check your bill. I am not sure if this was a 'honest' mistake or some way to scam me.
#AlwaysCheckYourBill #Don'tGetScammed

We waited almost an hour for the food to be served though the restaurant was not crowded and we had ordered only four main courses between the four of us. One dish was served within 10 minutes, which is not done when a group of four comes to eat. highly unprofessional and there was no senior manager to complain. The food was standard..nothing wow. The waiter mislead us about the quantity as when we asked if the khaw suey could be shared, he said it was just sufficient for one, but it can easily be shared. Will not visit again.

Known the restaurant for long when it used to be at Pashan road so I thought the new version in Balewadi would be a good choice to celebrate but we were highly disappointed from the word go.
The worst part , we all fell very sick as soon as we reached home without even having any of the spicy ghost chillies, out of 3 ,2 of us even had to visit hospital.
The quality of food, crockery, service everything was bad. Maybe the chef has not changed as they still got the taste but unless the management immediately look into the quality of the food, hygiene of the place we are on verge of seeing another good restaurant going down.

Ordered soup which came in broken crockery ( both the bowls) Drinks were fine and served well.
No water was served even 20 mins later, after asking for many times. We got glasses only mid way of our food :(

Now the food, although the soup was below average, the starters did well ; ordered duck and pork belly , although these were little high on the salt. Ordered pork ribs and it failed. The sauce had nothing but loads of salt. It’s not worth at all .
Finally ordered main course but left with parcel as there were cockroaches where we were sitting.
We asked for the resturant manager couple of times and everytime it seem to have fallen into deaf hears, finally one of the experienced guy came over and tried to serve well but it was really late. We appreciate his effort, offered us a complimentary dessert. When we spend 5k we look for good quality meat and hygiene food not freebies.

Hello, this place has been a personal favorite for ramen. We visited the place on a regular basis, sometimes weekly. Today I took some family and half the food was not available on the menu. No draft beer out of 10 listed on the menu. Most of the food unavailable. Please do not be hard to the staff they have nothing in control.

The place is really good as well the quality of the food is brilliant. The portion they serve is a bit less but the satisfaction level after eating their food is more.

1. Food took a lot of time to be served. We needed to remind the staff.
2. The taste of all four dishes was good. Quantity as well is good.
3. Staff looked jaded.
4. Discount through dineout booking was provided, however payment through dineout pay was declined, saying that it's at outlet discretion to accept or not through dineout pay.

One additional rating only for food taste.

Waiting for food for eveeeeeer no signs of our order after almost one hour :-(

I ordered Smoked Paprika Chicken from Flying Duck.,t was delivered at home. Looking at smoked wings from the menu, I was expecting it will be some Smoked Chicken with some spicy sauce, to my surprise it was dry fried chicken with a crispy coating outside. Not sure if it was a delivery they forgot any accompaniments. The taste was not bad, but I didn't intend to get that type of dish when it's named as smoked chicken.

This was my first time at the Flying Duck. Balewadi High Street is abundant with dining options in Pune with your friends, family, date. My friends and I went to this. We ordered for 3 starters, 3 main course, 3 drinks; it's reasonably priced.
Khow Suey was really good. Garlic roasted Mushroom (starter) was amazing. Northeastern style cottage cheese was unlike how you'll eat Cottage Cheese at other places. The peanuts in it makes it more delicious. We had a Guava based Chillie cocktail which had the right hint of chillies. Aglio Olio is completely different from what you might eat at other places but the spaghetti was really good. Definitely will come back for more!
Servicing is very good and so is the seating area. Only drawback is the music as the restaurant next door has their stereos on high volume pretty much all the time.

Request you to mention that this is a fine dine resto.... its good ... but if we go by the review, they mention it as a pub/lounge type place.
Food is good, will visit again only for the food. Great 👍🏼

Apt name, we flew away, but apparently not soon enough. Everything that we wanted to order on the menu, like the asparagus soup or the other soup with had an interesting description, was not available. We ended up ordering the boring tomato soup which had soggy croutons in it. I regret we had already ordered starters ( again we wanted Singapore mini rolls which was not available, and the butler asked us to order from the Indian menu, which we declined) - something with water chestnuts and green beans with quantity only for 2 ppl (we were 3 adults and 1 kid) but enough oil for 6 people's dinner. Needless to say, Not on my re-visit list.

This place has a beautiful ambience and it's situated among the top restaurants of Baner. I had wanted to try this place out for a long time and I was glad I did. We ordered prawn khow suey, twice cooked pork belly and spaghetti aglio e olio. I've recently started to like coconut oil based dishes so this was quite tasty with all of the raw or partially cooked condiments served with it. The spaghetti had beautiful flavours of olive oil and garlic. The pork belly was the winner amongst all the dishes. Super soft and juicy, it would melt in your mouth and leave you craving for more. The quality and quantity justify the rates charged for the food. Overall, I would love to visit this place again and urge others to try it out too.

Amazing food experience. They have a good variety of pan asian cuisines. As the name say, they do serve duck. Every dish here had a different taste. Their ramen game is super strong! I really loved the ramen. It looked as if it was served straight from Japan. Kudos the chef!
I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to try out ramen or asian cuisines!
The staff was great and helped us selecting good dishes. I enjoyed dining here! ☺️

Flying Duck & Co.

Recently #iwasinvited to this beautiful place located on Balewadi high street, Baner.

One cannot think well, love well, sleep well if one has not dined well...
This place will indeed satisfy your tastebuds and the tummy as well😊
We were literally bombarded with the approximately 28 mouth watering dishes aftrr one another... we had to tell the kitchen "Ruk jao bhai.. pehele jo aaya wo khatam kar le🤣" amongst all the colourfully well presented dishes, I couldn't get a chance to get pics of all of them as my fellow blogger gang just hogged it and so am i🤭🤭
Coming back to the dishes we tasted were:
#Cocktails -
Chocolatini
Ginger gypsy
Citrus
Cucumber sunrise

Salads and Main course:
Som Tum Salad: loaded with radish, carrot, crunchy raw papaya, cherry tomatoes, sping onions paired with rosted groundnuts and some supertasty sauces.. has given a very good kickstart to the tasting table..
Warm Duck Salad: some of the green veggies tossed with vinegar combined with the tender duck meat..
i am not a 🦆 lover person so skipped it😷 but the fellow bloggers loved it and ordered it again..
Crispy Water Chestnut with green beans: it's an aquatic vegetable that grows in marshes, under water, in the mud. Crunchy and twisted with fish sauce.. was very tasy..
Pan Seared Asian Seabass with Shitake: The shiitake is an edible mushroom native to East Asia, which is cultivated and consumed in many Asian countries. It is considered a medicinal mushroom in some forms of traditional medicine.
It was wery well combined with the seabass alone with fish sauces tasted so well little tangy yet impressive.
#Starters
Mirch Da Paneer: tender, soft and juicy paneer with spices and green chilli.. highly recommend and a must try..
Tandoori stuffing with mashroom: was good. Tasted OKish for me.
Butter chicken Penne: pasta with butter chicken taste was a superhit dish and mostly highly recommended 👍👍
Chicken in red sauce: Kashmiri like rice (little sweetened) paired with omelette and chicken in red sauce was again a superb combination and a must have dish..
Chicken Khausuey: it was made as it has to be made.. just to the point.. loved it..

#Showstopper_dish:
Deumstick Ghost Chilly: dare to have it if you can bear to eat spicy.. mind it very very spicy 🥵 big marinated chicken 🍗 with hot and spicy masalas. Have it with drinks or at least have a full glass of water next to you🤭
Highest recommendation 👍

Main course:
Dhaba chicken, Dal Makhni, stuffed kulcha with curd, roti rice everything was served piping hot and extremely delicious.

Last but not the least: Desserts:
Chocolate mousse: ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Mango Panacotta: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Tiramisù: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Shahi Tukda: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Overall ambiance is amazing and they have inside and outside sitting arrangements.

My verdict: Flying Duck & Co. rocks with some amazing and unique dishes served with efficiency and that makes a promising place to visit in the area like Balewadi High street.
Mind it: this is my review, my experience in my words.. if you disagree just ignore👍

**Suggestion for owner: please try to change the cutlery.

The service quality isn't worth the rating it has here on Zomato and the food quality is also average.
I ordered shrimps they gave prawns that too not great.
Dissapointed with the rating system on Zomato once again
Very poor service quality had to check around again and again looking at the faces of everyone so that someone will attend . Not worth for the price which is paid.

This was the first time I visited Flying Duck and Co. after hearing so much about their signature dish Burmese Khow Suey! Booked a table through zomato and got an instant confirmation from the restaurant on Friday evening. Even though the indoor seating might seem comparatively small, it is cozy. We were given a table immediately. Coming to the order -
Crab Soup - Since I ain’t a fan of crab dishes much, didnt quite like it, but others said it was upto the mark.
BURMESE KHOW SUEY - Do not miss this one out. Had khow suey at so many places but the one here had something that made it just so perfect! Highly recommended.
Kathmandu Style Chicken Noodles - Was so Impressed by the taste of this. Not a bit of chineese flavour but yet so good.
Amazing food and staff! Definitely visiting again!

Staff was friendly and ambience was good but whatever we ordered was not available. Very disappointed. But whatever served was fine..

THE STORY OF FLYING DUCK

#FOODTASTINGINVITE
#PGBGCLICKS
#MOSHEZZFOODGASM

MOSHEZZ has been going through a bad shoulder pain and was in a blue mood…stuck at home with mundane home food and loads of medicines and the sorts. Yeah yeah she was off the scene for a while but with Atrangii and Ninja taking care of her and showering her with oodles of love and care. Tringgg tringgg comes the call from SUPZZZIE and she invites Moshezz for a food tasting at Flyng Duck at Balewadi High Street and she was elated to join in the foodies and enjoy some gastronomic delights.

Flying duck did give wings to Moshezz…it made her foodgasm over some superbly delectable and awesome foodgasmic food and the result was a big wide meowwww smile and some purring in delight insisting Atrangii and Ninja to join her for another rendezvous at the same place.

Colourful vibrant well spaced out interiors and plush se up makes Flying Duck a class apart. The contemporary European set up does impress you as you walk in and the warm smiles of the staff that greet you makes it a first impression and best impression . It does make your spirits Fly…yup I mean soar high.

Moshezz was greeted along with the others with an array of drinks that they had to swoon up the afternoon. Moshezz the ever so gypsy soul did wisely chose the GINGER GYPSY which was a ginger and lemon based cocktail with a strong potency of Vodka. A drink that could arise all the famished desires of her gypsy soul. Go with the flow and the drink did create a drinkgasmic ripple as it swirled its way through her and the glint in the eye did make her look more like a tipsy duckling at flying Duck than a grizzly furry kitty. Try this one…its absolutely unmissable..a crime to not indulge in !!

WARM DUCK SALAD ..This one at Flying duck did warm up to moshezz. Well drenched in the balsamic vinegar tangy dressing the roastd duck spoke oodles about the way the foodgasmic journey began, as morning shows the day …so did this salad warmly showed the way ahead…the cruchy bellpeppers and greens fancied up the tatse and thewell roasted and flavored duck meat could only ask u to eat and eat and indulge.

SOM TAM SALAD ..Moshezz loves this thai delight forever and at Flying Duck it did measure up to her love and proved its true mettle as a good som tam salad would do. An absolutely unputdownable sweet salty sour and chilli combination working together in unison to catalyse the taste of the unripe papaya and delight one in its taste and flavor. #donotmissitforanything

CRISPY WATERCHESTNUT WITH GREEN BEANS…this one was passable. The sauce did not add up o the cruch and feel f the waterchestnut not the green well sauted beans . The sauce took up its task a tad bit seriously and could not meet up the expectations of Our dear Moshezz at all. #passable

PAN SMEARED SEA BASS WITH SHITAKE MUSHROOMS…a good well done up entrée and a great one at that. …Moshezz promises to come back for the same. Well tossed basa and shitake Mushrooms in teriyaki sauce which a morsel full by itself would not fulfill the greedy Moshezz taste for the fine things in life. It satiates indeed but then u walk out of this place and the cravings for this one begins again and makes you take a U turn. Loved this one to bits …purred al day over the same…said Moshezz .

GHOST CHILLY DRUMSTICKS…oh my my ….if u wanna spice up your life..n add some extra zing to your drab feel on a blue day this red mirchi delight with the pungency can take you to a ne chapter pf life. Authetic bhooth jholakia as had ages back in the foothills of Assam came back with the fondest memories to you …perfected …this is definitely not for the faint hearted …but the valiant and the strong…it was the best that Moshezz had after ages…a good bhooth jholakia creation…it leaves you tery eyed but then as they say no pains no gains..this is otaaly a must have for the bold and the beautiful. #musthavetospiceupyourlife #eatdrinkrepeat

MIRCH da PANEER …This was a close cousin of the DrUMSTICKS …U BETCHA…this one will give the vegeaterians something to doll up their plates too while the not so ghaasfusshh drumsticks flirts with the carnivore soul sitting next to you. Panko fried well marinated paneer lying in peaceful slumber on the bed of chilly and happily . ..this one leaves you drooling over its flavours if you are a spicetarian…n Moshezz truly did paw into two big chunkly well plated pieces of them. #yehnahikhayatohphirkyakhaya #totallyrecommended.

TANDOORI STUFFED MUSHROOMS…a good coupling indeed…the swanky stylish large hearted mushrooms did add on to the compatibility quotient with the well tandoored masala stuffing. They blended and coupled up to one another and life was beautiful….yeah yeah I mean the dish was a delicious repertoire and a perfect family entrée…not too spicy neither too sweet…medium spiced great flavours and well done up. The cheffy does need a bow for this one…#goodtotryandhappythoushallbe

The Main course was just arriving gallantly at the table and Moshezz was filled to the brim and happily foodgasmed by then …she still went out for a quick stroll..did a bit of the zumba numbers and shook herself up to soak in to the goodness of life which arrived now.BUTTER CHICKEN PENNE….this was the when Sonia meets Rajiv story…I promise and assure you I am not politiising…only assuring u the best of food are inspired love stories and this one was truly one. A fusion which did not diffuse but refused to even stand second to anyone..tal claims can be made of this utterly utterly delicious soul food….it nudges you…it stirs in the good dilli heart to the Italian mafiaso…the bold does amalagamate with the beautiful . the butter chicken seeps into the soul of the penne and creates ripples and what you get as a foodgasmed soul is sher exuberance. #delightful #musthave #fusionatitsbest

DHABA CHICKEN AND ALOO ONION MASALA KULCHA…the dhaba chicken was another cheffy delight..the robust flavours added to the kukkad and dil went hhhmmmm hmmmm…the curry was well spiced and rich in flavours and reminded Moshezz of her Delhi life…the road trips …the kulcha though did not stand tall as it claims..it needed to be cooked a lil more..a tad bit patience and it would have basked up like a golden sunshine.

JEERA RICE AND DAL MAKHANI…when all you want is the comfort of moms care and love you suck up to this one. The dal makhani was well flavoured thick consistency overnight soaked ma ki daal which was creamy and tasty. A morsel ful of this one with jeera rice does a good end to your meal….just before kuch meetha ho jaye.#dotry #recommemded

What can a CHOCOLATE MOUSSE +TIRAMISU+SHAHI TUKDA WITH RABDI +MANGO PANNACOTTA jpin hands and do together…well it can create a riot of flavours in your mouth…it can make you say buzz off to your diet…it can bring that dabanng candy heart glares on your eyes…it can validate the claim that life is ajourney..a food journey and travel you should through such lethal hearty droolsome awesome stations and soak up to them. These desserts were like the most fierce competitors to each other…they proudly filled your soul the best f oodgasms……and Flying Duck just quacked in all the happiness that it ever could !!

The place is not a hit and go place..this is a place to soak in to…indulge..let loose..fly high…foodgasm…it is no ordinary duck..its a FLYING DUCK which make your spirits soar..your mind boggle up and your smile when u walk out lasts till u come back for more. Moshezzz recommends this place highly and wisely…

Do love like and comment. Walk in to this EPICUREAN PLACE AND REJOICE!!!

#ankzfoodreviews
#foodtasting
For, Flying Duck Co.
Well I might have missed visiting the older version of this place but I kinda liked the cosy ambience here at their new location at Balewadi High Street. From serving cuisines like Asian & European, I'm happy they have connected us ultimately to the European feel with the decor they have built in! #Simple yet graceful.. Specifically would like to mention the chairs put up, man they are extra comfy 😍 Someone said it right, you eat with your eyes 1st.. And they excelled this phrase. Each presentation was just bang on, best, colourful and soothing to the eyes. 👀
We started with few mocktails & cocktails, didn't enjoy the mocktails much as they were syrupy. But their was one mocktail with strawberry which actual lit my taste buds a bit, I think it was called #Sour Berries.
In cocktail, I enjoyed the
#Cucumber Sunrise, it was refreshing was a bit bitter at the end but I like it.
#Chocolatini, it had bailey's, coffee and milk base. I never thought I'd ever love milk and alcohol combo, but this clicked.
In food we started with some mouthwatering Salads & Starters
#Som Tum Salad, a most common & popular Thai salad made with raw papaya and a spicy & sour dressing. It was eye catching, very colorful. This light & fresh salad was delightful, the roasted peanuts gave it good crunch. And now I know why this Thai staple has been called the world's best salad. #LovedIt
#Pan Asian Sea Bass seared with Shitaki mushrooms, basa fish with shitaki mushrooms with some lip smacking asian flavours. Both basa & mushrooms were cooked right, were fresh and nothings less than sumptuous.
#Mirch da Paneer, well well this dish will keep you guessing about how exactly it's been prepared or how will it taste. It was flawless, the presentation was superb. It was a soft chunk of Paneer sliced thin, coated with green chutney and then panko fried. Crispy from outside and soft from inside. With just correct marination and masala this dish was a sneak thief for me. #mustmusttry
#Tandoori stuff Mushroom, whole medium sized mushroom were stuffed with spicy and tangy mixture, which added a peculiar taste. The masala marination on outside boosts the taste of the mushroom and adds up the flavor.
#Drumstick Ghost Chilli, aahaa 🔥🔥
It was hell spicy. As the name suggest, chilli ghost this dish is not for people with weak hearts & tongue like me 😂 And hell of a treat for spice lovers. It was hot, yet delectable. Though I couldn't dare to eat it further after my 2nd bite, still I loved the marination and masala used in preparing it.
In mains-
#Butter Chicken Penne Pasta, this fusion combination was the show stealer for lunch. It's commendable how they have managed to keep soul of both the cuisines yet make it a perfect and lip-smacking dish. I haven't had this creamy fusion pasta yet. The butter chicken sauce was too good and pasta was cooked well. #Recommended
#Dhabba Chicken, Arey dekh k dil balle balle karne laga. 🍗😍😋 My cravings of having chicken at dhaba was totally satisfied with the one I had here. This lightly hot and aromatic chicken dish is perfect for a recalable lunch or dinner! #dotry
#Chicken Khowsuey, well this time everything went well with this Burmese gem and my most loved food. The noodles were just perfectly cooked and had adequate amount of egg & chicken, with the authentic and delicious khowsuey sauce and the condiments, this dish lived upto my expectations. This is one from the few places where I fell in love with this dish all over again.
In Desserts -
#Disclaimer : their Desserts are to die for🤤
#Chocolate mousse, this rich and dense chocolate mousse is my most favorite. It had hint of orange zest which made me fall for it even more. It will definitely hit your sweet spot for the day! #musttry
#Tiramisu, a delectable cake made with mascarpone cheese, infused in coffee, whipped cream to add on and dusted with cocoa powder. It had an exceptional smooth texture and was heavenly delicious.
#Mango panacotta, a popular Italian dessert. I like pannacotta, but this one with mango amortization was well-prepared! It was glossy and rich. And it was fluffy 😍 #mustmusttry
Didnot like the #shahi tukda much, it was too sweet and oily for me.
Overall, it was lunch done right with amazing company.
I'm coming back for my favorite Khowsuey, mirch paneer & Butter Chicken Pasta!
Thanks Swapnil for inviting us!
#highlyrecommended

The once Flying Duck located on the Baner Pashan Link Road has now relocated and reinvented as The Flying Duck Co in the happening and buzz place that is Balewadi High Street with a swanky futuristic look all done in grey ,beams and panels giving it a sleek look..the menu has also been redone with a lot of newer and interesting additions to choose from..What I love about Flying Duck Co is how they play with their meat..be it pork , buff ,duck ,chicken or lamb..the perfect place for a solid meaty meal ..but in the same breath they have a wonderful variety of vegetarian food with the abundant use of fresh and tender micro greens in their dishes..
The star dishes for me were..

1)Dal Makhni One Punjabi dish that I always loved is the celebratory "Dal Makhani" or "Maa ki Dal".. The mother of all Dal.. Butter , Spices and Cream slowly cooked and simmered for long hours all packed together to give you the ultimate warmth and comfort in a bowl.. Served with tandoori roti or naan or fragrant jeera rice .. this meal can be a perfect mood elevator.. Flying Duck Co. has perfectly incorporated the rustic flavours with the robustness of garam masalas and it's rich creaminess into the Dal and what is served to us is #TheIrresistibleDalMakhni.i.oozing with cream and butter..

2) Chicken drumsticks cooked with Bhut Jolokiya.. Nothing can compare to the legendary super hot that spices our lives back in Assam and the North East.... Bhut jolokiya the most infamous hot peppers around with an Uber cool name and with a zillion hot sauces that have been churned out using the "Bhut".. Many restaurants have tried to create dishes using the Jolokiya but somewhere they weren't successful.. giving away the feeling .. this isn't the real stuff but The flying Duck Co. changed the game..Fiery hot .. full of flavours.. smokiness.. all culminated into this dish.. Drumsticks cooked with ghost chillies.. yeahhh.. they nailed it like a Boss!!

3)#MirchDaPaneer

We Indians have this amazing #Rishta with pakoras.. It doesn't matter if it's a drizzle or a Zordaar baarish or even a drop of water splashing on the ground.. not to forget our #ShaamwaliChai and those evenings for #KhoobJamegaRangJabmilbaithengechaaryaar... Our heart and soul screams out for a larger than life plate of pakoras.. It is so much fun when our Desi pakora is served gourmet style.. That's what Flying Duck Co has done.. Fiery hot chillies and paneer lightly batter fried.. retaining it's crunch and flavour.. with just the right amount of spices.. #Veryniche #VeryImpressive #VeryAddictive #VeryTasty .. A big thumbs up for the Mirch da paneer.. You just can't stop at one..

4) Chicken Khowsuey... The Burmese Khowsuey done just right.. Noodles with a delicate yet creamy spiced coconut milk gravy served with an array of contrasting condiments and toppings have taken this dish to the next level giving it an amazing bursts of flavours.. But I somehow missed the presence of a boiled and sliced egg here.. that for me would have completed the dish..

5) Warm duck salad . . A nourishing salad of warm duck meat , fresh greens , cherry tomatoes and a garnish of micro greens in a balsamic vinaigrette dressing makes it a perfect one platter dish.. They have successfully brought together a combination of textures and flavours ..Duck meat is a much more tastier alternative to chicken.. and always my personal favourite since back home in Assam this is such an integral part of our cuisine

6) Crispy water chestnuts with fried beans . I just loved this vegetarian delight.. Specially the fried beans.. tender but not soggy.. with the perfect crunch.. water chestnuts deep fried tossed in a sweet and spicy sauce making every bite delicious.. A very lip smacking Indo Chinese starter..

In the dessert segment .. I loved ..

1) Tiramisu.. Tiramisu is an Italian coffee flavoured dessert.. sweet and indulgent with a thick layer of cream and a delicious coffee liqueur kick evenly dusted with a layer of cocoa.. I absolutely loved the heavily soaked sponge with a subtle boozy note and the after taste of bitter cocoa..the cream was superbly light and smooth.. A perfect dessert to finish your dinner with or whenever you fancy a rich treat..

2)Mango pannacotta.. Rich , smooth ,creamy , velvety and fruity .. in order words a perfect dessert for any occasion that no one can resist. I loved the garnish with pomegranate seeds.. added a juicy and contrasting crunch go to the creamy dessert..

We were served with an array of colouful mocktails topped with ice creams but what I loved most was

Orange martini.. Vodka paired with Orange juice makes it a light , citrusy and wonderfully refreshing fruity martini.. you can enjoy this aperitif before your meal or pair it with some of the amazing salads Flying Duck Co has on their menu. Personally for me it would be with the warm duck salad.. Orange and Vodka.. paired in heaven..
Flying Duck Co has left no stone unturned to make their menu enviable.. No compromise on the quality and freshness of the food that is being served on the table.. A full score for the service.. the staff very polite and courteous.. explaining all the dishes and drinks .. Perfect ambience with soothing music at the background.. What more can you ask more.. Flying Duck Co has it all..

My husband and I went here for an early dinner and the place looked clean and music was loud but cool since weren’t looking for a quiet place. We ordered the fresh lime sodas, fish in chilli & mustard, butter chicken and tandoori rotis. Everything was great and the service was also very good. The menu is vast with enough options for any palate. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Flying Duck Co.
#Balewadi highstreet
#positivereview

Flying Duck has been serving it’s patrons lip smacking food for many years now. It has set a standard for itself and others entering the fray. We had been to this place before and had an average experience. So I was pretty excited when I received an invite from them. This place keeps on experimenting and adding new cuisines to its already vast menu.
The decor is nice and catchy. With an indoor as well as outdoor seating there is ample space which makes it pretty spacious. The noticeable and prominent grey theme adds beauty to the subtle ambience.

They serve Asian, European and some Fusion cusines. The menu here is pretty extensive and you have got a lot of options to choose from.We were served with the following:

Moktails-

We were served with a variety of mocktails. Liked them but found them a little extra sweet.

Cocktails-
AJA- This kept me drooling and wanting for more. It contained vodka and baileys blended with chocolate sauce and vanilla icecream. The taste of liquor was pretty evident. Inspite of the liqour it was smooth.#musttry

Starters
1. Som Tum Salad- This was a mix of grated raw papaya, raddish, carrot, spring onion, lemon and crushed peanuts with some chilly sauce. The peanuts gave it an added crunch.

2. Warm duck salad- I am not a duck meat lover but still gave it a shot. The meat was soft and well cooked. Didn’t appeal to me though. Everyone else loved this. Though I munched on the cherry tomatoes and fresh veggies.

3. Pan Asian sea bass with shitake mushroom- Basa fish sautéed in mushroom. The fish was extremely soft and delectable. The mushroom was well cooked and tasted heavenly.I was skeptical about this but loved the results.

4. Mirch da Paneer- Green chilly stuffed in paneer. This was fried to perfection. This looked beautiful and appealing. With the added crisp of chilly and softness of paneer this combination was delightsome . Left an aftertaste of green chilly yet was not very spicy. #musttry

5. Tandoori stuff mushroom- Succulent pieces of marinated mushroom served piping hot from the tandoor. The smoky flavour enhanced the taste.

6. Crispy water chestnut with beans- Yes the name might mention nut in it , but water chestnut is a vegetable grown in marshes. Fried water chest nuts gives you the exact crunch you would be looking for. This tasted out of the world and went well with beans sautéed in teryaki sauce. It was pretty much like crispy veg. Loved it .

7. Drumstick ghost chilly- This was the show stealer. HOT AF. Yes please don’t try if the water glasses are empty or you are not having a dessert. This was by far the spiciest dish I have ever had anywhere. Huge chicken drumsticks marinated in ghost chilli marination and topped with some more chilly. The first bite itself gives you a kick which you wont ever forget. Definitely not for the faint hearted. I personally loved this one. #musttry

Mains:

1. Butter Chicken Penne- Absolutely loved this hatke version of butter chicken penne. Delicous butter chicken mixed cooked with penne and some olives made it toothsome. This desi italian dish is a must must try.

2. Dhaba chicken- Ahh! You gotta have this when you are at flying duck. Red gravy with appropriate amount of chicken and desi tadka takes you on a short trip to a typical dhaba. Goes well with roti or rice. The color and texture is to die for.

3. Chicken Khowsuey- Being a die hard fan of Khow suey this lived pretty much to the expectations. The gravy served here is extraordinarily yummy. Its pretty thick and along with the noodles this is a deadly combination. #musthave (Just a suggestion that they need to change the cutlery used for serving the condiments for sure. Had given them the same feedback last time too.)

5. Dal Makhni- An all time favourite this needs to introduction. Thick dal simmered on a low flame with added smoky flavour makes this special. If you ever miss home cooked food then head to this place to have scrumptious makhini dal and rice.

6. Chicken in Red Sauce- I hardly got to taste this but loved whatever I had. Had succulent pieces of chicken and the sauce gave it the extra touch.

Desserts:

1. Tiramisu- We were almost full by now but who’s gonna miss Tiramisu at Flying Duck. This beautiful looking piece makes sure that you end your meal on a special note. With sprinkled coffee on the top it just sets the mood right. Its stays true to its actual meaning ‘lift me up’ . #musttry

2. Shahi tukda- Found this a bit extra oily. Personally did not find it much appealing.

3. Orange Chocolate mousse - This was mind blowingly tasty and filling. Had an hint of orange with the chocolate flavour remaining intact

4. Mango panna cotta- Panna cotta is my new found love. I loved their coffee panna cotta and so do this one. With sweetened cream paired with an aroma of mango. If was perfecty sweet .That fluffy panna cotta actually melts in your mouth, so you better chew it before that. With added mango pulp it appeals to the eyes along with your tummy. This will leave you salivating for more. #musttry

Overall was an amazing experience with nice company accompanied with delicious food.

Do plan and visit @Flying Duck and don’t miss to try Drumstick Ghost chilly and the desserts.

#iwasinvited
#FlyingDuckCo.
#BalewadiHighStreet
#longpostalert

From a bitty outlet to a swanky restaurant at Balewadi High Street, Flying Duck has come a long way. I still remember how a review in Pune Mirror had me coming all the way from wanowarie just for those spell-binding pork chops(just thinking makes me drool).
Well, have things changed since then? Yes they have #Momentously #Outshined Themselves!!!

The European décor talks of a #timelessstyle. Every inch of that place oozes #luxury and #comfort right from the ornate mirrors to the plush grey chairs. For people wanting private space they have coupe’ too.

The cuisine is an #eclecticmix of South- East Asian and European food. Not to forget, they serve all kinds of #exoticmeats to #tantalize your taste buds.

The food tasting menu was an #assorted mix of Asian, Indian and Fusion cuisine.

We started with Citrus Martini. Fresh orange juice with hints of Smirnoff, Butterscotch and Lime juice this was #crisp and #light #appetizer.

The Som Tum Salad was a #perfectamalgamation of fresh(juliennes of raw papaya, radish, carrot, spring onion, cherry tomatoes), sweet(palm sugar), sour(lemon), tangy(fish sauce), crunchy(crushed peanuts) and hot(chili). Even the papaya-hating me #relished every spoonful of that salad. #purebliss

Next was Warm Duck Salad. Chunks of roasted duck, bell peppers and greens tossed in balsamic vinaigrette. All I can say is that my love for salads shot up drastically. The greedy me gobbled up the bits of duck first and then enjoyed the crunchy bell peppers and greens at a leisurely pace. #delightful

Continuing with the #cracklingsaga we had Crispy Water Chestnuts with Green Beans. Fried Water Chestnuts paired beautifully with the crunchy beans. The sound of the crunch is so #addictive leaves you #salivating for more!

Pan Seared Asian Sea Bass with Shitake was up next. Delicate fillets of seabass and shitake mushroom pan fried in teriyaki sauce was quite a #toothsome. Had it been just me, I would have licked the plate clean. Sometimes I just hate being the Miss. Good2Shoes!!! #compelling #succulent

Fusion food is like walking on a thin glass floor. A lil bit here and there, down you go. But the Butter Chicken Penne rose up to the occasion, #tantalizing our tastebuds with its rich, creamy, buttery texture.#enticing

Drumstick Ghost Chilli is NOT and I repeat not for the FAINTHEARTED. One bite and you fly through the roof(this one has the original bhut jholokia). If you like spicy go ahead, try it with a chilled drink by your side. This one is flaming hot, high in flavours with hints of smokiness. Do give it a shot!!! #outofthisworld

To tone down the heat Chocolatini came to the resque. A #decadent mix of baileys, vodka and vanilla icecream. #pleasent

The stuffed potato kulcha was not cooked well. It needed some more time in the tandoor. Perhaps next time!

Dal Makhani, Dhaba Chicken with Zeera Rice was the #ultimatecomfortfood. Perfectly cooked #rustic flavours simmered over a period of time to give you the #ultimateorgasmicdelight.

The desserts were in competition with the main course.
The Chocolate Mousse is quite dense here unlike its counterparts. With hints of orange thanks to the addition of cointreau this one#packsapunch. #chocolatelovershaven

The jiggly wiggly Mango Panacotta was a #breezydelight. The creaminess of the panacotta gelled perfectly with the sweet tartness of the mango. #rich #smooth #velvety

The Shahi Tukda worked wonders for me. Deep fried bread soaked in sugar syrup drizzled with #luscious rabri is a #heavenly delight. The #slightcrunch adds to the #experience.

We ended with the #utimate Tiramisu. This one is #purebliss. Perfect end to the #magnificent lunch soiree.

Flying Duck is an #UBERCOOL , #FREAKINGLY LIT restaurant with its #INNOVATIVECUISINE .
If you haven’t been there yet, time to rethink and plan!!!
Alright. Let me give you a little background first. A few years back, when this place was just a small joint on Baner-Pashan link road, a few of my friends had been here and they insisted me to pay this place a visit and try their chicken wings. Like any other good friend I told them I will surely visit and then completely forgot about it. Then one day while I was partying with friends at Balewadi high street I saw this sign called Flying Duck opening there and it took my down to the memory lane and reminded me of my friends and their recommendation. I was, of course, overjoyed and decided to eat those chicken wings.
So one fine Sunday afternoon I entered Flying duck along with a friend and ordered a few drinks and of course the chicken wings. I was very excited to eat it and when they were finally served, and I ate the first morsel, I reached a foodgasm right away! Those chicken wings, we so soft and tender that they literally melted in my mouth and I was left savoring the BBQ sauce in which they were saute. Oh wow, I am still drooling. Needless to say, I ended up ordering another plate of it :). I regretted waiting for so long and not visiting this place earlier. The burmese khow-suey which is my favorite comfort food was also one of the best I've had. Cocktails were a bit on the milder side. Could have been a bit stronger, but I believe that is very subjective. Staff is courteous and and the service is good. It's great to have another restaurant serving South Asian cuisine in the city.

this rating purely on the basis of food. there is no doubt that the food served is amazing but they definitely lack customer satisfaction. the over all dining experience includes both food and hospitality and they get 0 in hospitality.

food - we ordered minced chicken french fries, spaghetti and meat ball and and steak dish. all the three were amazing in flavour and deliciousness.

ambience - average

hospitality - pathetic and needs improvement.
1. we did a reservation through zomato and when we reached there while the place was still empty, they did not let us sit at a preferred table.
2. we checked on zomato there was an offer they were having for a week as per which they were offering corporate discount of 20% all day and everyday. when we asked for it they said it is not valid on weekends even though its written "all day everyday all menu" on zomato.
we ignored that as well.
3. they are also listed on Dineout offers but when we tried to pay it via the app they denied that as well saying the management has said they do not accept the Dineout payments!! this was totally not acceptable.
they asked me to pay again at the restaurant and asked me to follow up with dineout for my refund!!

i really didn't get why haven't they updated anything anywhere and expecting the customers to agree to their terms and conditions. total turn off for me.

except the food there is absolutely nothing to like in that place. i would infact suggest to take a parcel rather than visiting this place for dining experience!

Best food I've had in Pune till date! Every single dish was absolutely perfect. The ambience is very beautiful and spacious! Plus, they play good retro music on Sunday night.

To start off, we ordered the pork belly appetizer. I wish we could upload videos on Zomato because I'd love to show you all how soft the pork belly was! We were able to cut it so easily and the pork was full of flavor, we just devoured it as soon as it was served (as you can see I don't even have a picture of the full dish).
Next, we ordered the Chicken Pad Thai noodles. The portions were HUGE so it was really worth the price. The whole dish was bursting with flavor and the noodles were cooked perfectly!
For dessert, we had the Mango Pannacotta and it had to be one of the best ones I've ever had! It was so creamy and it felt like I was eating a real, juicy mango. And, it jiggles so perfectly!

Definitely coming here again to try more of their dishes!!

We went to this place on a weekday in the evening. Valet parking was available and place had quite a good rush. Music can be improved. Service was quick. Though after paying the bill the server told us that they have 1+1 offer on the drinks, when we were already done. The staff should be active enough to assist guests.
We ordered mocktail, a beer, veg, nov veg starter and main course. Menu was nothing exceptional. Food taste and quality wise it was average. I would say a one time visit restaurant.
Ankita Khandelia
Giving rating of 1 because there is no option to give zero.

- inspite of having valet, we were asked to park our own car
- half of the serving bowls were broken and chipped
- poor and slow service
- incorrect billing
- food was bad
- honey chilly potatoes had just chunks of green chilly and vinegar, no honey
- tofu starter had just sit and no taste of lemon grass
- Malaysian curry dish was just pathetic

Do not recommend

To die for food! Very good quality fish. 100 percent recommend the grilled fish in mustard and chilli sauce. Delight to the tastebuds. Had a repeat serving . It was that good !
The pork chops were very good too with delicately blanched flavours! The mince chicken peri peri fries were one of their kind with good portion size and I loved the cran cooler mocktail a lot!

Really loved the Ambience which has nice vibe to it which silent music & wall decorationa to it
.
Service : service is really good , like they really don't make customers wait for their next order also they are humble & supportive.
.
Food : well food was really good but mostly they have their main motive on non-veg food but still the north India cuisine they are serving is the best thing in the whole menu . Let's see what I had :
1) Roasted tomatoe basil soup : well it was super tangy & the basil taste was coming good but coz of too tangy flavour it all made me disappointing but still they can improve on this
2) Daeng Jang jiggae: well this soup was really good in taste also it was having noodles which were cooked properly also the flavours were really good with lots of veggies in it !
3) Tofu in Chilli basil & lemon grass : loved the flavours but the tofu was feeling really hard when we were having it also it was having nice strong lemon grass tastes which saved that diaht !
4) Aaloo cheese corn Tikka : really loved the filling and taste of it also it was not that much oily & the quantity of corn of good enough to have . Recommended ❣️
5) whiskey Berries : this was the finest cocktail I have ever tried with not too strong taste to it also it was having nice amount of berries in it !
6) lady in satin : well this was really amazing with whiskey base also it was made unique & flavours of spices was coming from it
7) Kadhai mashroom : Never had such amazing mashroom nearby Pune city as it was spicy & was having nice cooked veggies in it with unique flavours and spices to it .... Here comes my favourite part, their desserts. One of a kind Mango Pannacotta which tastes like heaven. Also, tiramisu and chocolate mousse must be tried since they taste amazing.
Taste - 5/5
Ambiance- 4/5

I always used to think that this place specialises in Non-Veg food( preferably duck) because of its name but soon my perception got changed when a hardcore vegetarian like me was invited to this place along with some other people.

The place located opp. to Balewadi high street, is having a glittering vibe. There is indoor as well as outdoor seating available. I personally loved indoors.

We were welcomed with a Vodka based Cocktail THE FLORENCE 18 which had strong flavours of Pineapple.

Amongst Soups I loved DANG JANG JIGGAE which was a Korean clear soup of Soya, Tofu and Kimchi salad. There was ROASTED TOMATO BASIL Soup which was a bit more tangy than required.

Loved their ALOO CHEESE TIKKI. Amongst other starters, PANEER MALAI TIKKA was slightly sweetish in taste not as per my palate.TOFU IN CHILLI BASIL & LEMON GRASS was not properly coated with the sauce, could have been better.

Several Cocktails and Mocktails were served.VIRGIN PINA COLADA was refreshing amongst Mocktails and amongst Cocktails I loved STRATCAT, their speciality, which was a cinnamon infused with Peach Schnapps.
Also several coffee & chocolate based cocktails were served which are rarely found in most restaurants.

Main Course here was a major highlight for Non- Vegetarians as well as Vegetarians. Several dishes were served and all had great taste. RATATOUILLE was one of my favourites as it had a perfect proportion of Veggies.VEG BURMESE KHAO SUEY is a good option to try on. The best of all veg dishes was COTTAGE CHEESE STEAKS with MUSHROOM PILAF as marination over Paneer made it damn tasty and complemented well with Mushroom Rice. Also loved their Amritsari Kulcha & crispy layered Lachha Parantha.

Though limited in number but desserts here are worth trying .SHAHI TUKDA & MANGO PANNA COTTA were my favourites. For those who like chocolate, CHOCOLATE MOUSSE can be a good pick.

👉Overall the place offers food from different cuisines both in Veg & Non Veg variants. Non Veg being slightly superior but Veg also worth giving a try.

My Ratings-:
Ambience - 4/5
Food - 4/5
Service - 4/5

Overall - 4/5

I

The place have two sitting arrangement, inside and outside. The service is quick.

Daeng jang jiggae - This was a soup with exotic veggies and noodles. It had a powerful punch at end. It was strong in flavours. It was spicy, had soy sauce flavour and it was flowy.

Roasted tomato basil soup - This soup was topped with bread squares on top. It was more on the tangy side, thick and okayish.

Aloo Cheese Corn Tikki - The tikki was little crunchy on outer and softer on inside. It was little spicy, it had taste of corn & aloo, it tasted good with the dip and yummy.

Tofu in Chilli Basil & Lemon Grass - The tofu was tossed in the sauces with basil and lemon grass. The tofu is bland in taste, so when you eat it you will get the taste of the sauce at first but later it will be bland. It was spicy, little tangy and good.

Kadhai Mushroom - The sabji had sliced mushroom, capsicum, onion and tomato. It was spicy, little tangy and flavourful.

Cottage cheese steaks with mushroom pilaf - The Paneer was fresh and soft. It was properly grilled in spices. The steak was topped with sauce. It was the cheesy red sauce. Everything together with rice tastes awesome.

Amritsari stuffed Kulcha - One of the best kulcha. It had a proper stuffing and was cooked well. It tasted superb with curry.

Veg Burmese khow suey - The noodles were tossed well in garlic. The khow suey was thick, it had veggies and was flavourful. Everything together with seasoning tastes marvellous.

Tiramisu - The was a layered one. It was perfect in taste. It had balanced sweetness. It tasted more on the chocolatey side. One of the best I had.

Mango Panna Cotta - It was fresh, soft and wiggly. It was topped with mango sauce and pomegranate. When you have one spoon of it, it will give you the taste of mango and milk. It was flawless.

Chocolate mouse - It was freshly made. It wasn't a flowy one. It had a strong taste of chocolate. It was yummy.

Shahi Tukda - The bread was topped with rabdi and almonds. The shahi tukda was crunchy, had balanced sweetness and was heavenly in taste.

Lacchas were seen properly. 🤩

Veg Burmese Khow Suey :
Amazing curry with nicely cooked noodles and the condiments were also very authentic. Must try. 🍜

DESSERTS :
Mango Pannacotta :
This was the star of the whole meal. So yummy. So heavenly. We loved it so much that we had 3 of them. 💕

Shahi Tukda :
Given with rabdi. Just the perfect amount of sweetness 🍞

Tiramisu :
It was soft and creamy with cocoa powder on top. It was delightful. 🍰

Chocolate and Orange Mousse :
The right amount of orange and chocolate blended into a gooey and delicious mousse. 🍫

Overall we recommend this place for good food which is worth. The location and seating is comfortable as well. The staff were very pleasant. Do give this place a visit. ❣️

'A big business starts small' - To a much rhapsodised about place like Flying Duck ,this quote stands completely true.

I paid a visit here last week . Somehow I could not make it to their earlier smaller outlet. However after trying the food at their new and bigger place , I wish I had frequented this place much in the past as well.

An up to the mark ambience and food that will blow your mind, Flying duck stands high above the crowd.

Here is what came on the table -

Appetizers and Salads -
1)Duck Soup -A perfect teaser to the amazing main course, the duck soup is a not to miss delicacy . I tasted duck for the first time and absolutely loved the entire preparation.
2)Indonesian Gado Gado Salad - Inspite of being a hardcore non vegetarian , I fell for this absolutely lip smacking salad in Peanut Sauce . Definitely a must try and I am sure it will please your taste buds.
3)Pan fried Prawns with water chestnut - The ultimate starter for the 'piscivores' like me. Seasoned with red wine and oyster sauce the dish impresses you way beyond your expectations.
4)Chicken Sukkha - Person who is fond of spicy food will adore this Indian delicacy. Palatable enough to finish it all by yourself .Just like I did ;)
5)Reshmi Chicken Kebab -On the sweeter side obviously the best ones I have had till date were here.
6)Pork Ribs - Not much of a pork fan but the pork ribs here are highly recommended. The succulent pork ribs in barbeque sauce will make you drool like crazy.
7)Pan seared Asian Sea Bass with shitaki - Another great pick if you love fish . Sauteed in teriyaki sauce this one is absolutely delicious.

Mains-
1)Malai Jhinga Curry - This desi style prawns preparation goes well with either rice or rotis and makes you crave for more.
2)Veg Burmese Khow Suey - Very few places in town that make the perfect khowsuey and FLying duck is one of them. The coconut based curry and condiments provided will bow your mind.

Desserts
1)Tiramisu - This coffee flavoured Italian Dessert is the reason why I love Flying Duck a little more than the other places . You will salivate even by looking at it ;)
2)Chocolate Mousse - Chocolate Lovers must gorge on this one for sure.
3)Mango Panacotta -Indulging in Mangoes in any form whatsoever, especially in August is always going to be a bliss. So was this ;)

We also tried a few cocktails ,mocktails and shakes out of which I would recommend the Oreo Shake,

Strat Cat and the Virgin Pinacolada

A place worth a visit and worth ever penny you shell out.

The place has comfortable seating, both indoor and outdoor. The cocktail menu is pretty interesting and has a few intriguing options. The cuisine consists of Indian, European and Pan Asian. I really liked the idea of "small plate appetizers" which basically is lesser quantity of appetizers. That helps to not kill your appetite before going on to main course. I tried Malaysian curry and Khow Suey. Both tasted pretty authentic and the presentation of Khow Suey with all the condiments was pretty good. The staff is helpful, the music is lively, the ambience is good.

Service is quite slow. There was hardly any crowd on Saturday afternoon. Cost is on the higher side and quantity is very less. Theyy charge Service tax on top of GST. Not worth visiting .

Finger licking good, utterly butterrly delicious. Afternoon lunch sorted. Visited a few months back and like always loved the steak, fish fillets and pork. Beautiful ambience and a great place to jam. Will definitely pay a visit again.

We had the Thai Grilled Chicken and the Cottage Cheese Fingers. The fingers were a bit too salty and drab once you bit into the cottage cheese within. The grilled chicken on the other hand was tender, with a generous serving of lemon grass and peanut based curry.

Overall, a good place to come to, with a fun ambience, good music and a menu with a large variety. Definitely coming again!

Flying Duck is one of my favorite restaurants when it comes to some really good European and Asian food. The management and service here is really good too. Recently they have introduces their new Indian menu and this review is based on is based on the Indian cuisine I tried here.

1) Tandoori Chicken Wings : This not some usual tandoori chicken wings but it's marinade has the world's spiciest chilli called the Ghost Chilli or Bhoot Jolokia which makes it more interesting to try this dish. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the quantity was generous too.

2) Mutton and Rice : This mutton gravy perfectly delivers the flavors of Kolhapuri and Solapuri cuisines. The mutton was fresh and beautifully cooked and also succulent.

3) Butter Chicken : Many places confuse the flavors of Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka but this place delivered the flavors spot on. The gravy was rich and smooth and also more on the sweet notes rather than spicy and yet it was a perfect balance and explosion of flavors. Try this dish with their Laccha Paratha.

4) Charcoal Smoked Chicken : These were basically Pahadi kebabs in terms of flavors. The chicken chunks were big and generous and soft and succulent and had good char on the outside and was served with some onion salad and green mint chutney.

5) Tandoori Promfret : Very few places can serve really good Tandoori Fish but this place delivered the flavors of both fish and tandoori spices perfectly. The fish was well marinated and the quantity was generous.

6) Paneer Makhani : The flavors of this dish were very similar too Butter Chicken. The paneer chunks were big and soft and really fresh.

7) Bheja Fry : I was not really a big fan of Bheja Fry until I tried Bheja Fry here. The textures are soft with little crispy bits. The flavors of Bheja Fry was meaty and earthy and delivered the typical Bheja Fry flavors perfectly. Try this dish with Laccha Paratha.

Overall this place is a really good one to visit with your friends and family and colleagues and have some good food , booze and also some good time.
One of the best sout east asian restaurants in the town and the winner of Times Food Nightlife Award 2018, FLYING DUCK, pune, located at Balewadi Highstreet is a perfect place for family outings, hangout with friends, and also a perfect date night. So #iwasinvited to try their offbeat menu which was perfectly modified to suit our taste buds.

Asparagus veg soup
So the tasting started off with Asparagus Veg Soup which had the perfect amount of thickness and the asparagus flavor was very well blended in it. The other veggies in the soup too were perfectly diced cut and appropriately cooked. Overall the soup was a perfect combination of some healthy veggies and the taste as well

Salad
Som tom salad
Also known as Green Papaya Salad made from shredded unripe papaya. The dish combines the five main tastes of the local cuisine: sour lime, hot chili, salty, savory fish sauce, and sweetness added by palm sugar. The ingredients are mixed and pounded in a mortar. As the name tam som suggests, sourness is a dominant taste. Personally i dont have a good taste for sourness but if you are a lover of a Khatta types dish then definitely you gnna be a fan.

Tandoori Mushrooms
It is one of the common dish we all probably would have seen in restaurants menu card under appetizers section . This is basically a healthy and yummy snack in which button mushrooms along with few other assorted veggies are marinated in a masala and later grilled traditionally in a tandoor clay oven to get that smokey flavor. It did taste a bit spicy but i me being a fan of spicy food i was totally in love with the dish. Perfectly cooked mushrooms with appropriate amount of marinated masala.

Stuffed Okara (stuffed bhendi)is a popular Indian side dish where the okra (bhindi) is stuffed with a spicy filling. Ghost chili stuffed karela

In the mains we had
Chilli pumpkin rice,Veg jaljala,Alfredo sauce Penne pasta, Veg Kathmandu Noodles.
Veg Jaljala was is a slightly sweet creamy dish of combination of various vegetables, in which the gravy is prepared usually with butter tomatoes, cashews or cream. Spices such as red chili powder and garam masala are also used to prepare this gravy.
Veg Kathmandu Noodles as the name suggests is the street food of Kathmandu prepared in pure local kathmandu style with plenty of veggies in it including chickpea which is very well cooked and the taste is also blended properly. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Desserts
Mango Pannacotta
Tiramisu
Chocolate Mousse
Indonesian Cottage Cheese
Mango Panna Cotta is a smooth and creamy Italian dessert. In this panna cotta mango concoction, the tartness of the fruit contrasts beautifully with the creamy panna cotta.
Tiramisu an Italian dessert consisting of layers of sponge cake soaked in coffee and brandy or liqueur with powdered chocolate and mascarpone cheese.
Chocolate Mousse is a soft prepared food that incorporates air bubbles to give it a light and airy texture. It can range from light and fluffy to creamy and thick, depending on preparation techniques. A chocolate mousse may be sweet or savory.

Good ambiance, good food, good music good service and if that wasn't enough they have Zomato gold too.
If you love pork then you must try the following
1)pork chop
2) BBQ pork rib
3) pork belly
4)pappardelle with ham and bacon.

And ofcourse a chilled beer 😁

Heard lot about this place. Situated at balewadi high street. Right from the service to food everything is on point. It truly deserves a five star.

Talking about the food every dish was unique & yum. Eating okra (lady finger) as starter i never thought but it was so dam good sweet coating & spicy filling in it.

Tandoori Mushrooms must try thing the spice marinade over it is so dam good.

Pork tikka had tried pork for the first time that juicy meat with crispy texture & spices was so satisfying.

Mirch paneer I’ll just say ( waah) unique thing with crispy layer & spicy paneer

Talking about the main course
Veg kathmandu noodles totally different from the Chinese but Totally yumm

The butter chicken with some buttery lacha paratha & kheema pav was really good

Coming on the dessert we had
Tiramisu
Chocolate mousse
Pana cotta

The panacotta was dam good so fluffy & creamy literally melting in mouth.

Totally recommend this place from my side.
Amazing & unique food
Totally worth

Thankyou flying duck for such amazing experience.

Been here twice already.

Pricey but they have a unique style of prepartion of the East Indian cuisine. The small portion in appetizers is a good thought.

Staff needs to work on paying attention to Customers.

Haven't tried the cocktails as those are overpriced even after Zomato Gold offer.

Can try to check if it suits your palate and pockets!

I heard alot about this place and recently planned to visit. And really it was a complete treat to myself. Talking about the main thing the food.
Basically I loved each n every dish here, that rarely happens with me.
It's the place where you can go and order any thing from menu and they won't let you down
Right from starters to desserts i loved each n every thing sharing few of my most liked dishes as recommendations
1)mirch paneer
Something which is really not common with paneer and you can't find it anywhere, taste was damn amazing a little crisp to the outer coating and little spicy paneer was just amazing.
2) pork tikka
Really never thought of pork tikka...And this dish made me stunned. Amazing pork with that authentic tikka flavour. Juicy texture and heavenly taste.
3)stuffed okra
An amazing experiment with lady finger. If you are a vegetarian you should not miss this
4)Thai grilled chicken
Authentic thai taste, softness in every piece of chicken. So recently visited this amazing place called Flying duck it’s in balewadi
Excellent eating experience from walking in the door and being greeted by staff. I just love the aroma of all the delicious food.
The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation, very pleasing. We especially enjoyed the special mango pannacotta, tiramisu and chocolate mousse was great (even took photos 😅ovs blogger things be like photos 1st).
Service was very good and servers were kind, friendly and even offered veg as well non veg which includes

-Ghost chili stuffed karela
Stuffed Oakra
Tandoori mushrooms

-Non veg
Pork tikka
Som Tom fish fry

-Mains
Chilli pumpkin rice
Veg jaljala

- Non veg
Butter chicken
Mustard fish curry rice

My personal favourite was tandoori mushroom I suggest you to try it.

It was beautiful-peaceful and relaxing.
Venue : Flying Duck

Order:
Thai Grilled Chicken - Spicy tender and marinated to perfection.
Burmese Khow Suey - Chicken ( This dish is as comforting as Mommade Dal Khichadi for a Gujarati)

Taste : Awesome.
Quantity: A little less for our appetite
Presentation: Good.
Timing : Could be better

Drinks:
Red Wine
Beer Bowl(recommended by Jumping jack)

Wine never came ☹☹
Beer bowl : We are running out of ice

Then there is final dish: Quail.
Quail is cooked perfectly, rice is nice and fragrant. Sauce is spicy, hot and of perfect texture to make entire experience finger licking.
*** Quails are not your chicken, get dirty and use ur hands. It's good meat in killer sauce.

Overall experience: Good.
Next visit: Soon
Value for money : 7/10
Taste: 20/10 (Flying Duck's success speaks for their taste. They started with 6 table sitting and have grown to become a full restaurant with more then 20 seats.)
Ambience: Can we make it a bit more lit. Its too dark. 8/10
Service: On the spot. 9/10
Cost: A bit high for some dishes. 7/10.

Note: Photographs are ok, but the presentation was bang on.

Stepped in on a rainy Saturday night. Got in a little early so no problems in getting seated. Food was top notch, liked the pepper chicken and prawns with olive skewers. The bone-in duck was a little too much bone and too little duck. Star of the evening was the chicken khao suey. Overall between the good food, friendly service and loads of beer, a great evening.

After so long time, I was craving for this and it's worth every penny, this is so far the best ramen I've ever had and its flavourful you can taste every flavour. The pork was tasty and drooling loved the Ramen

Such a fun place!!! Great food, amazing drinks.
We ordered thai red curry chicken, Kathmandu noodles, burnt garlic rice (absolutely amazing), spaghetti with bechamel sauce , indonesian gado gado and so many drinks. Everything tasted great ( even before the drinks :) ) . They play really fun songs and serve their customers well. Must visit eatery!
Had come here for a tasting of their new, soon to be launched menu.

The service started with a welcome drink that had Blue curacao and vanilla in it, which whetted our appetite well!

We were served several dishes in the course of the tasting event. I'll elaborate upon each item as follows:

1. Paneer Malai Kebab
Paneer was soft, kebabs were well marinated in a light and not so overpowering spice. Accompanying chutney was also well balanced.

2. Tomato Basil Soup
A bit too sweet for my taste, but nice nonetheless.

3. Sweet Corn Crab Soup
Easily the best crab soup I've ever had. Nice chunks of crab meat made for an excellent experience.

4. Som Tum Salad
A Thai salad, thats often sold as streetfood, This one was perfectly balanced with the peanuts, Papaya and fish sauce dressing.

5. Roasted Duck Salad
Duck, being the star of the dish, I felt could have been a bit more crispier, also the salad itself could have used more astringent vegetable such as radish or turnip.

6. Hot N Sweet Water Chestnuts
It was a starter that i liked a lot! Also, the beans served with it were quite delicious!!

7. Crispy Okra in Bhut Jolokia
Upon hearing the name Bhut Jolokia, i was a bit apprehensive, but i was pleasantly surprised when i ate it. It did have that chilli punch, but was not as bad as i was expecting. Actually, turned out to be the starter I enjoyed the most!

8. Tangdi Kebab
Chicken drumsticks, well marinated in tandoori masala and finished in Tandoor. Well prepared.

9. Veg Tacos
Corn, cheese and spinach in cute little tortillas, and again laced with a cheesy dressing. Very Tasty indeed!

10. Sugarcane Prawn Kebabs
A bit disappointed with this one. couldn't taste prawn at all!

11. Double Cooked Pork Belly
Cubed Pork Belly that first been smoked for several hours, then braised with Chinese 5 spices. Melt in the mouth delicious!

12. Crispy Devilled Eggs
Classic Devilled eggs recipe, with the eggs that had first been fried to a crisp brown crust. Also, there was a tangy and spicy twist to the filling!

13. Chicken Yakitori Skewers
Chicken Tenders marinated in Sake, Mirin, and finished on the grill. Could have been grilled along with scallions, as it also imparts a flavor in classic Yakitori.

14. Shredded Roast Duck
Slow cooked duck breast shredded and dressed as a salad.

15. Buff Tacos
Spicy cooked Buff stuffed in tortillas, with a cheesy dressing. Mince was a bit leaner, but that is expected, as normally, tenderloin only is used.

16. Ratatouille
Zucchini, Eggplant and tomatoes, baked in a tomato concasse and finished with grated, gratinated cheese! Very Delicious.

17. Steamed Chicken Buns
Perfectly steamed buns, with a chicken filling that was too hot to handle, which was saying someting, as we already had had the Bhut jokokia!

18. Mushroom Risotto
Perfectly made risotto, with a creamy sauce, all down to the truffle oil, and the al dente rice!

19. Pan Braised Quail
A small game bird, cooked in the oriental style, which was a departure that I was unfamiliar with, but was quit nice to taste!

20. Kathmandu Noodles
Noodles cooked in the Nepali style, which had Indian spices, Black Channa, and Chicken. An interesting combination of ingredients and flavours!

21. Bibimbap
A Korean One pot meal which had rice, chicken, rice, carrots, mushrooms, mung beans, zucchini, and scallions. Served with a side of Kimchi Cabbage. The taste was quite interesting, although, going by the reactions of my colleagues, it seems to be an acquired one!

22. Chana Masala and Rice
Taste was good, although I dont think that a place like this should serve it!

23. Reconstructed Burger
Buff burger with bacon, egg, and American Cheese. A Classic.

24. Chilli Garlic Chicken
A classic Indo Chinese variety. Amazing balance of spice, and served with plain rice.

25. Braised Lamb Shanks
Slow Braised Lamb Shanks served with mushroom sauce. My colleagues complained saying the lamb was tasting a bit "Meaty" and "Gamey", But I think, thats how European reciped are intended to be, to focus on the taste of the meat itself, rather than on the sauce.

26. Mango Pannacotta
I'm not a dessert guy, but this is one I would most definitely order again!

27. Tiramisu
The Chef outdid himself on this one! Another excellent dessert. We actually ended up ordering another one! The chef also made it quite "strong", that is to say, he was quite Generous with the rum!!

Concluding my review, I would like to say that I really enjoyed the food. There was some feedback that I shared with the chef and Owner, and on my next visit, I would like to see it addressed!

Pricy. No proper service. Wait time is too high. Had to wait for more than 30 mins for water too. Some of the menu items are good, but rest are just average.

So this place is slightly pricy.
But looking at the consistency of quality, taste and also its location helps you keep aside the prices.
The food inckuding desserts is amazing. My friends whom we took there felt they had the best aglo olio here.
Not to forget zomato gold 2+2 applicable.
Worth a visit.

Ever since I moved to Pune, Flying Duck Co. was at the top of my wishlist. Having heard rave reviews, I couldn't help but check it out for myself.

Located at a prime position on the Balewadi High Street, this place stands out amongst the others. Divided into indoor and outdoor seating, they have separate arrangements. The interior is plush, with lounge like sofas and soft lights. The spaciousness brings out an added aura to the whole place.

Coming to the food, I tried :

• Pappardelle with ham & bacon
• Twice cooked pork belly
• Bone - In duck chilli

They also had few happy hour deals on alcohol, so I opted for a beer pitcher to team with the food.
The pasta was freshly handmade, and tasted heavenly when paired with the crisp bacon and turned out to be a meaty affair. The small plate appetizers were simply finger licking! The pork belly has to be the best this place offers, while the duck chilli was okayish.

What really impresses is their prompt service, attention to details and the peppy vibes throughout. It is definitely an amazing chill out zone in Baner, and their food shouldn't be missed!

Brilliant oriental dishes . Pork ribs were out of this world. A must try!
Duck soup was good but the arrived slightly late which dampened the experience. Overall , pretty impressive!

I found this place via Zomato reviews and recommendations. It might work out for others but I went there with my sisters and didn't like one single item that was served.

Ambience was nothing great..it has a small seating section outdoor..service was okay..in food tried the chicken in red sauce which was so spicy we had to return it n Burmese Khow Suey ( Chicken ) which was average..quite expensive n music was also very boring..was looking forward to a great experience reading positive reviews but didn't go quite well..

Essentially Flying Duck is having all what you can possibly wish for. I made myself available to 2 dishes which were in my view 'exotic'. Mac and cheese balls were stuffed with ham and bacon. I would mention a consistency mismatch between cheese and meat which made it what it is - A ball of cheese. Also, the chicken was poorly cooked or I think boiled. Another dish was the Kathmandu Noodles with Chickpeas which had a sunny side up touch up. It tasted pretty contemporary and I must say was spiced up well! Had a mojito and beer to gulp it all down my throat.
Ambience was average. Nothing extravagant but I think the experience overall might go a notch higher at night.

This place is must come, with mouth watering food you get some classic drinks.. Its all about the hospitality here reminds of bar like How I met your mother(mcLerans) .. You need to call for Vivash, he ll provide good hospitality and discounts. Also ask for signature cocktails from Lama and Krishna..

We go to this place cus of Vivash's hospitality and Lama's sick mixes. 10/10 would recommend. Try out the bullfrog. Great ambiance, great music, and great alcohol. Cheers 🍻

Have been here thrice, and am sure I will be revisiting this place countless number of times to exhaust their amazing menu. This is hands down one of the best restaurants in Pune and am forced to upgrade my rating to 5-yes,they are a cut above the rest.
This time we ordered the Twice cooked pork belly(you don't have to chew,it will melt in your mouth and the sauce in which it is cooked was excellently done),a pork based ramen(no words to describe it...take a look at the pic yourself. This is the best ramen I have had in India and that's quite something.Even the egg in the ramen was perfectly half-done just the way it should be). Finished it off with a tiramisu,a coffee based dessert which was excellent as well(if you don't want your dessert too sweet).
Have added a pic of pork chops as well, from our previous visit-truly the Duck's quintessential.
Overall,HIGHLY recommended!!

A casual dining restaurant located on Balewadi High Street, Flying Duck Co is providing to be a game changer in multi- cuisine restaurant as now they're coming with a North Indian menu and few days back only I tried some of the dishes from that upcoming menu so have a look what I came across.
Now talking about their ambience, they have beautifully designed interiors and occupied the space properly. They offer you seating in both the area i.e outside as well as inside so you can sit according to the weather or mood.

The food which I tasted from their Indian menu are :-

1. Tomato Soup: This is one of the common available soup in a restaurant. The taste was good and was creamy too.

2. Fiery Baby Potatoes: These potatoes were grilled in a tandoor with some spices on it to give it some spicy taste. Spicy food lover would surely like this.

3. Rosemary Paneer: Paneer was stuffed with grinded paneer and cheese. One of the best starter I liked among the others.

4. Paneer Makhani: As the name suggest, paneer was made in a rich gravy like the way it is served. The gravy was really delicious but paneer was hard as if it was not fresh.

5. Dal Makhani: This was one of the best Dal I like but after tasting it my mind changes as it doesn't taste like it. It wasn't creamy in naturr neither it had a dal makhani taste as it was much more similar like Dal bhokara.

6. Mix Veg Jaljal: This was a mix veg main course which contains maximum every vegetable in it starting from mushroom to eggplant and it was too oily also.

7. Desserts: They've these amazing desserts which they have presented well and the taste was also good. I really enjoyed their 'Chocolate Mousse' which became one of my favourite dessert.
But in general, I loved all the desserts as I am a foodie plus chocolate lover.

Flying duck is definitely a place you should to try unique flavours. Now with an addition to their menu they are emerging single restaurant in that area with variety of cuisines under one roof. There food were finger licking and desserts were lip smacking.

When it comes to serving good food, one of the most talked restaurant in Balewadi High Street is Flying Duck Co. I've heard that they serve amazing Asian food. But now they're coming with a north indian menu and recently I tried some of the dishes from that menu.
Talking about ambience, it's uber-cool. The seating is really comfortable. In general, it gives you very fresh and good vibes.

Coming to the food, as I mentioned, the menu which I tasted is still under work and some dishes really needed to be work on while some were good.
So, I tried:

1. Potato and Leek Soup: This was absolutely a soul satisfying soup. It was rich, creamy with very subtle flavours. Loved it!

2. Tomato Soup: A classic and everyone's favorite soup. It was good in taste with creamy texture, slightly tangy in taste.

3. Fiery Baby Potatoes: As the name suggests, mini-potatoes were marinated in a spicy marinade along with bell peppers and nicely grilled in tandoor. If you like your food spicy, you'll like this

4. Rosemary Paneer: Paneer slices were stuffed with minced paneer and cheese with some spices and then it was cooked in tandoor. Totally loved this starter.

5. Tandoori Mushroom: This one had a really strong punch of ginger. Overall, it was nice.

6. Paneer Makhani: To be honest, the gravy was really delicious but paneer was bit hard. The gravy was rich, buttery, not-so-sweet, the way I like it.

7. Dal Makhani: Well, this was looking so tempting but taste-wise it was not that good. It wasn't creamy, neither it had a dal makhani like texture.

8. Desserts: They've a less number of desserts but all are equally good. I really enjoyed 'Tiramisu' and 'Chocolate Mousse'.
I felt both the pannacottas, coffee and mango should have more prominent flavors of their own. But in general, I loved all the desserts.
Flying duck is one of the best restaurants when it comes to meat affair.

Twice cooked pork belly is something you won't regret having twice same time. It's cooked so perfectly that it really melted in mouth. So satisfying yet so soft.

Korean BBQ chicken bake is something you should not miss having it here. Soft bao stuffed with BBQ filling is treat to yourtaste buds.

In mains , Kathmandu noodles were best, you can compare it to the authentic ones. It was that good. Half egg fry topped with a nice flavored noodles .

About dessert section, everything tops the chart
Tiramisu , you just can't finish on one. 2-3 repeats is must.

Mango panacotta gives you that perfect sweet and tangy taste of mango .

As I said, flying duck offers some great food with medium to higher cost. It's a ultimate destination for meat lovers.

There are some places with absolutely smashing reviews I have been following and waiting to try out since ages... This was one of them, I had family group of 9, travelling from various parts of Pune, so we settled on Baner !!

It was that one day where every dish that came out of the kitchen was absolutely loved by everyone, and believe me, it happens rarely! ❤️

We started with pan fried prawns with water chestnuts - the oyster sauce with those huge prawns cooked perfectly, and unbelievably couldn't decide if prawns or water chestnuts were a hero!
Smoky bbq chicken wings - again a stunner with poeple licking the last spoon as well!

Crispy Water chestnuts with green beans - The earlier chestnuts dish made me order this and surprisingly, the blanched greens were hard to put down. Would highly recommend this one ( yes, a vegetarian dish!)

The Thai grilled chicken, Carribean chicken kobabs and smoked paprika chicken, ordered coz there were a lot of chicken eating children and yet the adults couldn't resist them!
The crab and chicken tom yum soups were again on point with flavours!

In the mains we went for chicken spaghetti aglio e olio, prawns yellow thai curry, chicken yellow thai curry - all of which were exceptionally good and topped with an experiment from my side - chicken street inspired Kathmandu noodles - an experiment that worked so well - black chickpeas in noodles, lots of soy accompanied with soy and a tomato based sauce - it was a novel thing tried that day and no regrets at all- absolutely recommended!

Everyone stuffed but who ends a perfect meal and time without desserts - Coffee Panacotta and Tiramisu - left me wondering, could they just go wrong with anything, like ANYthing? I would have personally loved a stronger coffee flavour in Panacotta, but others relished it nonetheless, so didn't have much say in that!

Can't wait to try out other speciality noodles and the inspired North Eastern Affair ( I have an eye on bhoot jolokia), cocktails, a loooooot more and yes THE pork chops ( don't troll coz i missed it!)
A total of 5930 for 9 hungry souls (Rs. 931/- PEO discount) and an afternoon worth travelling to Baner!

Only suggestion - The washroom needs to improve, sorry to put on the forum with that amazing experience but with a restaurant with that quality we need basic amenities like that improved as well 😊
