Review Gong - Pune

Anindita Adya
Great service and ambience, recommend making a reservation if it's a weekend. I mainly wanted to try out their sushi and dumplings - wasn't disappointed at all. Ramen could be better, and desserts aren't as impressive. Cocktails/mocktails are interesting, definitely worth a try.

One of the best Asian food in the city, the sushi’s are worth a try, they have good Bao’s also, but were a little bit dry, their chocolate dome is just out of the world. The outlet gives u a fine dine feels with some exquisite interiors. I found staff a bit less interactive, there was some problem with the online deals at the time of billing but they were least bothered to help. But a must try place for Asian cuisines.

If you are looking for a Japanese cuisine then this is the perfect place!! Every dish we had here was mouthwatering😍 Ambience is amazing. The place is little bit small and there might be a waiting queue. But perfect place for a date night!

The food is great. If you are a fan of Asian food, this is one of the best places to try authentic Asian food. The ambience is amazing. The staff is very polite. Just be mindful of the wait time especially during weekends. Also note it closes around 3:30 PM so they might rush you a little for the final order. Highly recommended

I recently had the pleasure of dining at GONG, and I can confidently say it was an extraordinary experience. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was greeted with an ambiance that left me in awe. The restaurant's interior design is a harmonious blend of contemporary elegance and warm, welcoming charm. The soft, dimmed lighting and tasteful decor create an intimate and inviting atmosphere, making it the perfect spot for a memorable afternoon. But the real star of the show was the food. The menu offered an exquisite selection of dishes that catered to a wide range of tastes. I started with crispy lotus stem black pepper, . The combination of ingredients was masterfully balanced, and each bite was a delightful surprise. Further we had a couple of dishes in both veg and non veg as follows :- - Veg - Avocado & Asparagus role, vegetable in thai green curry, blue jasmine fried rice with crispy garlic (must try) , Bao cottage cheese & sundried tomato. - Non veg - Crispy chicken katsu bao, salmon nigiri & tuna nigiri (sushi), khao suey chicken (must try), New Zealand lamb chop, The exceptional food and the inviting ambiance make it a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in a culinary journey. I will definitely be returning to savor more of their dishes in the future. Highly recommended!

Tried their Chicken Ramen, Chicken dumplings, Khow Suey & Pan Fried Noodles. Ramen could be better. Overall scrumptious & authentic dishes. Doesn’t disappoint. The ambience is the cherry on top. Used swiggy dineout for payment so wasn’t too heavy on the pocket. Special mention: Loved their cutlery!

The ambiance and service provide perfect setting for a fine dine restaurant. The place has a wide variety of cuisine from across south east asian countries. Would recommend making reservations in advance if you are going on weekends. Must try: Sushi platter & Mushroom Cappuccino

"Gong" is a top spot for Asian food, and the atmosphere is great. We tried the "Malayan Spice" mocktail and another one I can't remember the name of. Both were really tasty. Definitely try the Malayan Spice if you go. The "Cream Cheese Sushi" is the best sushi I've had in Pune. I've tried a lot, and this one is a winner. The rolls were also great and reminded me of Dimsums. Big thumbs up for them. The only letdown was the Ramen. It was mostly greens and didn't taste like real Ramen. Everything else was perfect, but I'd give the Ramen a 2/10. So, overall, Gong is one of the best places for Asian food in town, except for the Ramen.

Taste is good. We had dumplings, sushi etc. Ebi tempura roll was great. Dumplings were nice. Pepper chicken was tasty. Ramen were bit bland to my liking. Philippino chicken was nice. Overall good but expensive to what they offer.

Visited for dinner as we had heard a lot of good reviews from our friends. Even though it was Thursday night, it was packed. Make sure to reach early or make a table booking. Ambience is lovely. Staff is friendly. Tables are close to each other, you can actually over hear conversation from other table, wish they add more space between tables. Food is lip smacking. We had crispy chicken katsu bao, chicken and straw mushroom sui mui and Pad Thai. Food was tasty with good portion size.

Such amazing service and delicious food made it worth the almost one hour wait. Clearly the place is popular as we had to wait for almost an hour, before we were seated. But the guy at the counter was so great as was the service inside and the wait was well worth it. We ordered sushi, rolls, delicious Dimsums, mains and everything was great. Not a fan of the dessert though, which was just okay! Yes, it’s expensive but Overall, a great dining experience.

The place has good ambience, the food is great but a bit pricey, quantity is less. A nice soothing music would have made the ambience 10/10. Service was pretty good. It was an amazing experience.

This cocktail drink 'Moon walk' is a must try, don't forget to try what is at the end 😉 Other drinks we ordered were Sake Sangria, preety good & fresh basil, refreshing must say. The food we ordered was Peking chicken bao buns, dumplings, Hunan king prawn, shallow fry tofu, honey chilli potato & vegetable pan fried noodles..all of it was superb! Definitely Recommend!!

Food: good, ambience: good Service: fine Staff: few staff members need to learn more professionalism and politeness. We found their behaviour very casual which made the experience a bit off.
Rachna Niranjan
Our top fave in balewadi high st. The blooming tea spritzer which was recommended by the waiter was one of the best drinks i have ever had ! The chocolate DOME - aaah.. we always keep dreaming of that... its unbelievably yummy ! each and every element on the plate is perfection in this dessert. The sushis , tacos and momos are yummy too.. hands down one of our top fave restaurants in the area ! <3 P.S : the service is incredible and so is the decor. can't find any fault in this place. Sincerely hope it stays consistent.

The service could have been quicker. No complaints on the food. The sofas not so comfy ! Guessing the seats were more comfortable. Overall a decent experience . All the 4 stars are for the food!
Yogesh Dougall
But They're running the place in a very unprofessional way. Managerial staff is very adamant.

If u really have a penchant for good classy food ...then this is the right place to be... Impressed by the service....ambience bright...but the wooden maze sometimes becomes an eyesore...otherwise it's just a perfect food getaway for something different!!!

Excellent Food. Average Service. Bad Restaurant Manager
Vishwesh Sant
Disappointing. Usually we love the food but this time, food quality was below average. Soba noodles were very salty, fried rice tasted powdery. Chicken hot pot was not great, and chicken with roasted chillies had no chillies at all. Very disappointing good this time.

Pic attached- "chicken with roasted chillies"

It's not everyday that you get more mesmerised by the ambience of the restaurant than the food (not that the food was bad). But this place has this amazing look and feel that is extremely calm to the senses and pleasant to the eyes. And that's why, for the first time, I only have pic of the ceiling of the place and not of the food (it was also somewhat dark to get pictures of the food). The staff is extremely courteously. The food was lovely, but not as exquisite as you expect from this price point. I can remember the prawn sushi was excellent, and the pork belly was good. All in all, a good stop to indulge in one night of fancy food.

I visited this place before lockdown....
Absolutely in love with this place and the food. The min I stepped in-the ambiance melted my heart. Very classy yet simple. Going by the reviews I was to order for some ramen and appetizer but after looking at their tasting menu I decided to go with that to get to taste a 6-course meal and to decide what to order the next time :)

The tasting menu was simply amazing right from the soup to sushi, dumplings, appetizer. The main course was a little disappointing or probably it didnts excite me. The desserts were yum too. The portion size is amazing for one. Not sure if you can share it. But do go with the tasting menu if u want it all
Jinia Chakrabarty
We loved the ambience and great food! Absolute fan of this place! Jasmine rice was so flavourful and the mango mousse was the best dessert recommendation by the chef!

Great experience. Service was so good. Food was awesome. First time goers like me will feel have no problem in deciding menu cause manager guided us well. Ambiance is greatly planned and maintained. Its little expensive but I mist say every penny is worth

An excellent place on the high street. Gong make you go wow right after entering the place. The ambience is really classy and makes you think of contemporary Japanese architecture.
The service was excellent, all the staff were very skilled and well versed in the menu, so to speak.
Coming to the food, we enjoyed the Amuse Bouche immensely. The sushi was fresh and tasty, but the boneless wings were a bit disappointing, so was the nasi goreng.
However, will be coming back here to sample more of their menu.

By far one of the best restaurant serving asian cuisine. Variety of food is top notch. Visited this place for a team lunch and we weren't disappointed with even a single dish. Be it water chestnut and corn starter, sauciness and crisp of crispy lotus stem, fiery tender boneless chicken wings, and those amazing water chestnut, spinach and corn dumplings everything was bang on. I'm a big fan of water chestnut and the way they have incorporated this in variety of dishes is enlightening. Pad thai and stir fried noodles are sure thing to try for. Burnt garlic fried rice was really good. But Kerala fried rice was a revelation. Service was really good, staff being very patient, calm and accommodating. This place speaks Chinese, asian in each and every way possible with their ambience, food, use of cutlery. In for a good asian cuisine this is the place to go.

Gong, an amazing place for Asian cuisine, was recommended to me by my friend quite long back. So I decided to visit the place with a different set of friends. The ambience and decor is very warm, subtle and nice. The staff of the.restaurant are also very welcoming.

Regarding the food, I must say u will get the best Asian food here in Pune.

What we tried :

#Thai_Coconut_Soup: The soup was quite good and delightful. I really loved the texture of the soup. Flavours were also really good.

#Mushroom_Cappucino: This is an amazing soup. Rich in texture, served in mugs with a foamy effect on top. #Must_try

#Sushi _rolls/ Tempura_rolls: We had Asparagus tempura and Ebi tempura rolls (consisting of prawns). The sushi rolls were really nice and delicious.

#Dimsums: We tried Green curry veg dumplings, cottage cheese vegetable siu-mai in veg and in the non-veg we tried, fish dumpling with basil leaf and chilli and Coriander chicken siu-mai.All the dumplings were good and yummy. #highlyrecommended.

#Appetizers: We had steamed. tofu tossed with pickled ginger chilli and spicy black bean chicken with black pepper onion chilli. Both were quite good and amazing.

#Main course: Stir-fried green veg garlic butter steamed rice, wok tossed noodles and spicy Thai coco curry. Everything was finger-licking, especially the Thai curry.

#Desserts: We tried mango pudding and chocolate bomb. Both were delicious in its own way. Beautiful as well.

Also we tried some cocktails and mocktails (don't remember the names). They were also really Refreshing.

Overall experience was amazing and superb.

My ratings :
✓Food: 4.5/5
✓Ambience: 4.5/5
✓Service: 5/5
✓VFM: 4.5/5.

Been visiting this place from quite some time now. This still is my go to place when ever I'm in mood for real authentic Chinese. Not a lot places can match the taste of real Chinese cuisine.
The second you enter the place you do feel very posh 😍. The interior is just amazing and im just surprised about how clean they keep everything. Not once have I seen a single clumsy table
Staff here is well versed with the menu items coz in the beginning I really had hard time understanding the cuisine, that time they really helped me to choose the right meal for me.
Let's talk about their food :-
From almost a year or more I have visited the place too many times and still their food has not changed a bit. Even while using zomsto gold!
Things you must try here :-
Soups -
Mushroom cappuccino soup-
This is the soup where chef's skills really shows off. This is way too delicious to share with anyone so dontttt share. This is a really rich, earthy soup served in coffee cups finished with a dollop of frothed milk/foam to give the cappuccino effect.
Thai coconut soup-
This soup has very authentic, bold, and delicious Thai flavors which makes this soup irresistible!
Sushi rolls -
*Asparagus tempura-
Delicious avocado pieces with chef's special sauce (shhhh it's top secret)
*Ebi tempura roll-
This has prawns tempura and tongarashi
Prawn lovers favorite.
Dimsums-
Veg
Green curry vegetable dumpling-
The only veg dumplings I can not stop hogging on almost every time I come here.
Non veg -
Coriander Chicken Suimai
Now the name may sound odd and you may think it has lots of coriander but no this is perfectly balanced and the chicken is so juicy that you actually feel happy by ordering this one.

Appetizer :-
Veg-
Steamed Tofu tossed with pickled ginger chilly. - now I know as "tofu" you may think this is simply a boring dish, but it's really not it serves the purpose of appetizer as it just so softly fills part of your hunger and surprisingly it tastes good.

Spicy black bean chicken with black pepper onion chilly -
Whushhh!!! yaaa it's a really long name for starter 😅but ya this is medium spicy chicken as it has chilly, pepper.

Main course -
Now in this I love one combination
That is -
* Stir fried green vegetable garlic butter steamed rice,
Goes well with
Spicy Thai coco curry - coconut based medium spicy curry.

Dessert -
Mango pudding and chocolate bomb
So now for this one you need two things
1. Really good camera
2. Insta account
Cuz cmmon these two things are really worth capturing in your phone and the chocolate bomb is a must for slowmo. All this has to go on your Insta just to show off to your friends right?
Now let's rate this spectacular place-
Ambience 5/5
Sushi rolls 5/5
Other food 5/5
Service 5/5
Vfm 4/5
Overall 5/5.

It has a nice ambience awesome starters but the meal bowls are below ordinary specially the Ramen.

They did a great job in gracefully embedding Asian culture not only via cuisine, but also through traditional cutlery and a unique take on the interior design. The entire experience was quite beautiful and adding to that was the amazing food!

Thai chilly chicken - 4/5
Lamb steak - 4/5
Stir fired noodles with added prawns - 5/5
Chocolate dome - 5/5 MUST TRY!🔥

The staff was polite and helpful, service was surprisingly pretty quick considering it was Friday night. I'd visit again to try out more items on their menu.

Gong was always there on my want-to-visit list & recently I did pay a visit here with some of my friends. The mesmerizing ambience here is really a center of attraction. There is a wooden hanging structure & some amazing lighting ambience placed inside & will make your meal experience worth memorable.

We started off with some drinks. Both the mocktails & cocktails were just superb. Every drink had something to relish about.

We also tried the Japanese Noodle soup & it was simply great in taste. If you're in at Gong, you must try the Dimsums here. They serve a variety of them, and they're super delightful. We tried their Crystal Vegetable dumplings, Vegetable Sui Mai with Roasted Chili, Fish dumplings with fresh ginger & celery. These all were really good.

Next up, we went for appetizers, with the recommendations from the staff, we ordered Stir fried okra tossed with garlic & Chili & stir fried Chicken assorted pepper & Chili. These both the dishes were absolute gem. My personal favorite was chicken assorted pepper & chili. The appetizers did really well to up the appetite, & then it was a time for mains. Again there were a plethora of options to choose from the main course. We went with a few of them, stir fried Cantonese vegetable, steamed rice along with the Vietnamese curry & Wok tossed noodles with bean sprout. The main course too was scrumptious. I realize this venue is not about the ambience, but more because of its food.

Without a doubt the service here was top class. The staff were on their toes to serve us & also recommended some really good dishes (which turned delightful). They were never tired of me asking about the dishes' details. I definitely recommend this place. My experience here at the Gong was really memorable. Thank you team! 😊

Scores (out of 5):

Ambience - 5*
Service - 5*
Food - 5*

* (asterisk suggest more than happy)

Excellent food and service by the staff. Naman is an excellent host. Gong is my favorite restaurant in pune.

The food was so good that we actually forgot to take pictures. If you have been to Din Tai Fung in Singapore, this is as close as it gets, and better. Come at lunch time and go for their bottomless set lunch. You’re get all the flavours, textures, and experiences in one seating.

Order the jasmine green tea to wash it all down with.

Gong Gong Gong! I've always been a fan of Gong!
The place is extraordinary and the best ambience i might have ever seen! The place really holds up it's standards and the service given by them is great and if you have any doubt about any dishes, they make sure you order the right one according to your appetite 😊 This is one of my favorite best place 😍

The dishes and drinks we ordered were:

Mocktails:
Jade spring
Peach blossom (Highly Recommended)

Cocktails:
(All the cocktails mentioned are Highly Recommended)

Spice chocolate old fashion
Thai vaccay
Blooming tea spritzer

The cocktails were really damn strong and had good flavors in all of them!

➡️ Dumplings
▪️Veg
Crystal Vegetable Dumpling
Vegetable Siu Mai with Roasted chilli

▪️Non-Veg
Chicken Chive Sui Mai

The both non-veg and veg dumplings were amazing, the fillings were appropriate and as they were hot it was even more a treat to have it!

➡️Moving on to appetizers,

I liked the "stir fried chicken assorted pepper and chilli" in the non veg section! The chicken was well cooked and the the combo of pepper and chilli just made it so tasty 🤤
[HIGHLY RECOMMENDED] for ordering this dish!

➡️In mains,

Steamed rice
Wok tossed noodles with bean sprouts

Along with it,
Vietnamese curry! (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)
Roasted chilli sauce!

You can get both the dishes in veg/non-veg section!
Do try according to your choice😉

After having a load of tasty food, we treated ourselves with ice cream 🤭

I loved everything about this place! Will keep visiting for sure! 😍

A great place to have a variety of Asian food. Ambiance is great and food quality and taste is amazing. Been there twice and would love to visit more.
Malaika DSa
Great, tasty, quality Asian food. Tried the Soba Yaki noodles which were silky and delicious. Veg tempura was great too, although a bit sweet for our liking. The Chocolate bomb was a real treat with bits of brownie and honey noodles with ice cream. Definitely recommend this place for flavourful Asian food.
Shruti Jani
Had a lovely experience at Gong for Saturday lunch! Ordered the veg hot pot and garlic pan fried noodles which were both amazing and full of veggies. Just like we like it! The mango mousse too was beautiful. Very courteous staff and special kudos to Naman from the Gong team for being a gracious host!

Gong is a beautiful place with fine interior and amazing staff. The best part of course lies in the wide range of delicacies that they offer.

I was surprised with the ambience when I entered in the restaurant. I went there with my European colleague and both of us were so impressed with the food. It was very very close to authentic Asian cuisine. And a superb ambience makes it worth your while....
Must visit if you like to try Asian food...
Siddhant
3.5 rating*
Pork bao, duck bao and eight treasure soup was good. Burmese khowsuey sucks, nasi goreng was good. Prawn sushi was good. Salmon sushi wasn't that tasty. Ambience was good and the person waiting on us was good. Food service speed was really slow. Food doesn't feel worth the price... Even worse when you order a dish and it turns out bad.
Sameer Joshi
Very good taste ..Ordered Smoked duck rolls and crispy chicken katsu bao, chicken Penang Curry and nasi goreng rice..

Will surely recommend to all..

FOOD :-

So actually you know what? I'm speechless. Speechless by the quality, taste and feel in the food served here. It's THAT amazing. It's like you gotta go here before you die. xD
Just one thing I can say. You order anything from the menu and it will leave you feeling spectacular! Haha.

AMBIENCE:-

Never saw such a UNIQUE ambience concept. Was spellbound by the great feel I got here even on a crowded day! You get the typical asian feel with the asian music at the right volume played here. The bar looks bang on.

Needless to say, GO HERE RIGHT NOW.
ABSOLUTELY WORTH THE PRICE. You wouldn't regret. :D

Food was good but they should keep draught beer at weekend specially also bad service and extra service. tax.

Gong…a place that I had been waiting to visit. Not just for its food but the warm hospitality, the ambiance and the complete vibe that makes you feel that this is posh, this is real and this is wow.

I was awestruck to the see ambiance. Bamboo wood frames on the ceiling makes it look like matrix and is a masterpiece. The manager told us that the place looks good at night with very dim light and a coz atmosphere.

They have amazing buffets running all days - Rs. 607 on weekdays and Rs. 744 on weekends.

Listing down my favourites here.

Japanese Noodles Soup –

Clear texture with generous amount of chicken. There was a particular taste that made it stand out. Delicious

Vegetable Sui Mai – dumpling with assorted vegetables was a delicious one with crunch and taste all together

Chicken Chive Sui Mai – chicken dumplings which were soft, well cooked with a thin layer. A perfect choice for any dumpling lover

Stir fried okra tossed with garlic and chilli – I love okra and if fried so crisp with seasoning of garlic and chilli, who wouldn’t have it. It was yumm.

House Dessert -Crispy sweet noodles with ice cream was a nice dessert to close the meal. Cold, sweet, crunch and yummy.

Had a great time.
Dr Sanket Nagarkar
Chef Vinod Rai was visiting each table personally and asking for feedback and providing suggestions for ordering food. The bartender Satyaman was extremely personable and helpful while deciding on the drinks order. The DJ Sanket was great with the awesome music tracks.
Food taste and presentation was great. The chicken dumplings out of the world. All sauces were great and complimented the dishes well.
Issues: servers lacked knowledge about the menu both for food and drinks. Though the food taste and presentation was great, some dishes lacked the oomph like the pork belly and lotus stem appetizer. Overall, great ambience, good concept, great presentation, great staff but not great value for money.
Ma Rahul
Loved the assorted spread of Bao, Ramen, Dimsum, Nasigoreng, and Shikun in rolls

After numerous failed attempts I finally had the opportunity to visit GONG at BHS, albeit, with a 15-20 mins waiting time. Was it worth the wait and hype? Yes it was, absolutely! The ambience has a very upmarket feel with plush interiors and cozy yet comfortable seating. The staff and the manager were welcoming and very courteous. I went with my parents and was worried if it would be too noisy / loud. It wasn't, in fact the experience was very pleasant.
We opted for the unlimited buffet (served on table) and the spread included - Soups, Sushis, Dim Sums, Appetizers, Mains and Desserts with both, veg and non veg options. The Soup and California Rolls (Sushi) was underwhelming to say the least. I have had much better. The mains included steamed rice, garlic noodles and thai chicken in chilly basil sauce. The chicken had a nice Thai flavor with just the right amount of spice added by green and red chillies. Went very well with steamed rice. The show stealers however, were the chicken appetizers (I think it was crispy honey chilly chicken) and the dim sums. Top stuff! The kiwi pastry served as part of the desserts was one of the best I have had in a long time. They also served vanilla ice cream with chocolate brownies which was like every other I have had.
All in all I had a delightful experience at GONG. Would love to visit again and try their ala carte spread.

Want to try Sushi or Asian or Thai food? Then this place is the end of your search.

Had been to this place a few days back. I was totally mesmerized with the ambience. They have installed bamboo like structures inside the restaurant to enhance its beauty. During night time, the dim light would give you a soothing atmosphere. They have a very good seating capacity. The staff were courteous and they were very interactive. The service was fast.

Currently Six Course Meal offer is going on which is at just Rs 699/- only. Let's start with the review:

◾Burnt Ginger Soup: They have both the options for vegetarian and non vegetarian. It had boiled Chicken pieces, lettuce, and other veggies and was served hot.

◾Spicy Crab Roll: It was non veg sushi. It was perfectly presented. Crab and cucumber were stuffed inside the sushi. It had a sweet taste inside.

◾Chicken Sui Mai with Spring Onion and Garlic Ginger: These were non veg dumplings. Minced Chicken along with spring onion, ginger, garlic were stuffed inside it. I liked the stuffing a lot. It came with 4 pieces. It was hot and soft. The essence of ginger and garlic complemented its taste really well.

◾Diced Chicken with Spicy Pepper and Chilli: Diced Chicken pieces were tossed in red chilli sauce. The Chicken was tender and juicy. Crushed black peppers were sprinkled over the dish to enhance its flavor.

Main Course comprised Steamed Rice, Stir Fried Noodle with Beans Sprout, Vegetable Thai Yellow Curry, Chicken with Roasted Chilli Sauce.

I liked the Chicken with Roasted Chilli Sauce a lot. Chicken pieces were tossed in chilli sauce and it was perfectly cooked. It went well with the steamed rice.

At last winded up the meal with some desserts.
◾Orange Zest Darshan with Vanilla Ice Cream: It was honey noodles with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I really enjoyed this.

Overall, It was a pleasant visit. I would like to recommend others to try their six course meal at such an amazing price.

Follow @hunger_above_mind on Instagram and do follow my Zomato Account 😍

Food - 5.0
Service - 5.0
Ambiance - 5.0
Value For Money - 4.5

Pros:
- First and foremost, Zomato Gold.
- It's value for money even without Gold though. But Gold makes it a place worth visiting very frequently.
- The sushi was absolutely delicious!
- Nasi Goreng was tasty too. Although I wish more chicken satay came with it.
- Need I say anything about the ambiance? Out of this world, literally.

Cons:
- Nothing major, I just wish they had a wash basin outside. You need to wait for the washroom to be vacant if you want to wash your hands.

Authentic Asian food is something I can have it anytime of the day. Gong is one of those places which you can drop by to have authentic Sushi or Asian or Thai food.

The calm ambience can just set your mood . Had been there for dinner. The dim lighting and the soothing music is what I liked the most. There was a serene aura which created a pleasant atmosphere to enjoy the food. Any meal of the day can be sorted by their ambiance.

I tried their 6 course meal which was for Rs. 699/-. Let's review the food I had in that meal:

➡ Hot Burnt Ginger Soup - It was the best dish to start with. Soothing consistent soup which had delicious flavours and a lot of veggies including boiled chicken pieces👍

➡ Chiang Mi Uramaki Roll: It was the Veg Sushi in the 6 course meal. Every component in the sushi added its individual flavour to the dish which made it more lip smacking. It had a nice crunchy taste in its inner part when you have a bite.

➡ Chicken Siu Mai with Spring Onion and Garlic Ginger - These were the non-veg dumplings and the dips given with them were damn good. The dumpling layer was also thin and also the inner filling was good. Minced chicken with a nice garlic flavour is itself a nice combination.

➡ Diced Chicken sauced with Spicy Pepper and Chilli - This had chicken pieces tossed with chilli , tomato and other sauces and served with black pepper pieces with it. It was so damn good that the dish was finished within a few mins. The taste was great.

The main course spread included Steamed Rice , Stir Fried Noodles with Beans Sproutand and Vegetable Thai Yellow curry .

Everything was perfect and the Thai curry was scrumptious. It was an authentic Thai curry with ample veggies and consistency in the gravy with the authentic flavours blended to perfection.

➡ Chocolate Swiss Roll and Orange Zest Darshan with Vanilla ice cream - These were the desserts to wind up the meal. The Swiss roll was soft and tasted nice.

The honey noodles with a scoop of Vanilla ice cream has always been my favorite.

This place is perfect for Asian and Thai cuisine. And this 6 course dinner is the best one to try their menu at a cheap price✌

We were trying Japanese food for the first time an me must say that gong did not disappoint us . Starting with the ambience it is nice , welcoming and warm. The simple bamboo interior gives fair amount of justice to the place . The staff is also very courteous and helpful . We ordered avocado Bao, cream cheese sushi and noodles . The bao was nice and soft and stuffed with avocado which was fried in batter.
The sushi was nice and the staff guided us on how to pair it up perfectly with soya sauce and pickled ginger .
Pan fried noodles very good but we’re Indianised a bit. It had more oil and it was slightly a spoiler . The taste and texture of the noodles was great but oil killed its feel.
Overall we had a great time and will surely recommend it to others .

By far one one the best places i have had the chance to visit in Pune. Try the prawns, and this is coming from a guy who doesn't enjoy sea food.
Their mushroom cappucino is a tasty delightful experience, another must try, also, have the baos

#PositiveReview

Place name - Gong

Happiness is your random lunch plan turning into one of the best meals in recent times 🥳🥳

There are plenty of restaurants on balewadi high street which puts up into the confusion ki jaye to kaha jaye .Finally we decided on Gong this time.

As soon as you enter you get to see the Lit ambience. A different structure than usual.

Nw let's come to food as thats the most imp part 😝
We ordered below dishes -
The cottage cheese and sun dried tomato bao -
it had chunks of cottage cheese marinated in spicy sweet sauce. The bao was extremely soft. The spicy sweet sauce along with little groundnut powder was going very well with cottage cheese. loved this dish.🥰

Veg khao suey - one of my favourite dish. I get tempted to eat whenever i see this in menu card. It was differently presented and served here. good in taste.

Pad thai vegetables - sweet n spicy flat rice noodles. perfectly cooked and perfect in taste. loved it 😋

All in all amazing experience - wonderful ambience accompanied with super yum food.
cherry on top was zomato gold. 1 dish free mil gaya. Aur kya chahiye life me 😂

Happy eating 😄

We had the corn spinach dumplings, avocado cream rolls, crispy corn, dessert forest by the night, jasmine rice with lotus root and tofu curry. Everything was immaculately prepared.

I paid above 1200₨ for lunch per person. They gave dinner menu naturally at lunch. Any staff do not tell about lunch menu.
I was given a isolated table.
Foreigner should not go the restaurant alone.

Gong has always attracted me because of its stunning & magnificent ambiance & especially the ceiling that's so mesmerizing ! The vibe of this place is so peaceful & the service makes me feel at home. I am a fan of the food here & they have na amazing offer of 699/- menu where you get soup, dimsums, sushi, appetizers, mains & desserts that too unlimited !

The tempura prawn sushi is my favorite here with perfect balance of taste and the authenticity is just point on ! The heavenly Thai curry with rice is the best comfort food for me & Chicken Sui Mai dumpling is something I can hog on for hours together ! 😋

Ended my dinner here with Rambhutan , a spectacular dessert of Thai Lychees & vanilla ice cream was a bomb combination of innovation & taste !

My family and I have eaten here twice now, and both times we've had a great experience.

The first time we had the sushi platter, which was excellent, nasi goreng veg, which was quite good but not amazing, and the exotic vegetables, which was very tasty.

Most recently we went here for a Christmas treat. We ordered the edamame and truffle dumplings, which were a work of art and very tasty, and the asian crab ravioli which was exceptionally tasty and very surprising in its presentation, served in a martini glass with a sauce that was a fusion of Italian tomato sauce and a Thai curry sauce, it was lovely.

For mains we ordered Thai green curry and lotus stem, asparagus, tofu and pak-choy hotpot, both of which were amazing. The tofu was especially tasty, I believe it was silken tofu, very soft and succulent. We also ordered a chicken khao suey, which I'm told was not as good in other places that serve it in Pune, though when I tasted it I honestly thought the flavour was more authentic.

For dessert we had just a mango pudding shared between three of us, and it was exceptional. Well recommended.

The decor is very nice, a little dark but in a nice way. The seats are very comfortable, and the tables a decent size.

The waiters both times were very good, and most recently we had a very nice waiter called Jitendra who was extremely attentive and very decent all round. He really made the dining experience all the more enjoyable.

Gong- Modern Asian Kitchen is a finest restaurant in Pune. We happened to visit this for dinner buffet which is priced for 699/- per person. Let me just tell you, we stepped in and the ambience totally won our heart ♥️. What a spectacular sight! Staff is very particular about their service also they are very prompt with it. We started with-
Glass Noodle soup with Asian celery- Nothing comforting than this! The consistency was runny but the falvours of veggies upraised the taste.

Ching mai uramakki roll- This was the best. Rice on the outer side and seaweed inside when had with wasabi would blew your mind. I loved it

Mix Vegetable dumplings with lemon grass- My favorite of course. The stuffing comprised of veggies and the hint of lemon grass elevated the dish overall.

Chicken Siu Mai with chilly basil- Chicken dumpling again won my heart. This place is indeed best for dumplings undoubtedly.

Stir fried chicken with black beans and chilly dry- This dish was so flavourful. One bite and there is outburst of flavours. It was so rich at taste. Also chicken was cooked to perfection and the presentation of the dish was too good.

Wok tossed noodle in Thai style- Another favorite of course. Noodles were cooked in a Thai style with sufficient amount of veggies in it. The taste was very authentic.

Chicken in Black pepper sauce- Chicken chunks were cooked in some veggies with black pepper sauce. This sauce was very rich at taste. I loved it.

Orange piroskha- One heck of a mocktail. It was just so refreshing. The orange falvour with the hint if lemon, oh my my. A perfect drink to sip on while enjoying your meal.

We tried chocolate Pastry and honey noodles with vanilla ice cream. Desserts didn't really satisfied me. But nevertheless dinner overall left my belly satisfied.

Overall it's a steal deal as you get six course meal in just 699/- You get authentic sushi rolls and dumplings and of course the other dishes. A must visit place indeed!

Gong

#AsianCuisine
#SuperVFM
#DinnerMenu

Gong is located on BHS and serves Pan Asian Cuisine. The Japanese theme based décor is this place is beautifully done, the architecture comes with the use of geometric figures like squares, rectangles and straight lines because of which the overall decor looks well arranged and organized, it might remind you of the 3D structure shown in the Intersteller movie. I visited Gong to try out their 6 course menu which is offered for Dinner only.

Highlights of the 6 Course Meal

1. The menu has around 14-15 veg and non veg dishes which had soup, sushi, dumplings, starters, main course and dessert. The offerings can change so please do check with the restaurant for menu of the week.
2. The Menu keeps on changing every week and is valid from Monday – Thursday.
3. The Menu is truly unlimited; you can either try all dishes with smaller portions or try 2-3 dishes with no limit for the respective dish.
4. Price is 699 Plus taxes per person which is Super VFM
5. Menu is offered only for dinner and is a good option for visit along with family or for a team dinner as well.

Overall: I was really impressed with the food that was served to us. I have updated the dish names in the caption do check. The 6 Course package is one of the best VFM packages which I have seen. Thanks a lot Team Gong for hosting us. Highly recommended place for people who want to explore variety of asian cuisine.

Location: Balewadi High Street, Baner Balewadi Road, Baner, Pune

This place serving Asian cuisines is located in Balewadi High Street, Pune. The ambience is quiet and elegant. The interior and the lighting of the place is very welcoming.

In drinks we had tried their cocktails and mocktails which was also good in taste. In Cocktails we had tried Thai Vacay and Blooming Tea Spritzer from which both were good in taste and well presented. In Mocktails we tried Peach Blossom and Jade Spring which was also different in taste but was good. I was there for a tasting and tried their 6 course meal which are mentioned below:

Glass soup noodles with Asian celery:

It was something which is perfect for winters with a loads of veggies in it.

Ching Mai Uramakki Roll:

Well these were sushis where the outer layer was rice with the seaweed inside. The taste of this dish was delicious. The filling had a crunch and the wasabi complimented it very well.

Mix vegetables dumpling with lemon grass:

These were very soft, juicy and generously filled with mixed vegetables. The lemon grass in it just took the dish to another level.

Crispy Tofu Salt and Peppers:

This was one of my favourites in the entire spread. The tofu was very nicely crisp outside and soft and juicy inside with perfect seasoning of salt and pepper.

Wok tossed noodles in Thai Style:

This dish again won my heart. The Thai style noodles with spring onions and red chillies just added enough hotness to kickstart a winter afternoon.

Vegetable Green Thai Curry:

This was really good as I tried on other places but this was really different and tasty. I liked the taste of it and the texture of the dish.

Coming to the desserts we had :-

Orange zest darshan with ice cream:

Being a dessert lover, ice cream is always my favourite. The taste of orange zest just gave an immense taste of freshness to the dish.

Chocolate Pastry:

These pastries were very soft and chocolaty. A perfect end to an amazing meal.

Well if you are craving for some good Asian cuisine, then Gong is exactly where you are supposed to visit for some amazing Chinese food.

Asian food is something that I can have any time any day. Gong Modern Asian bar is one of the restaurants in Pune which comes on your mind whenever you think of having Sushi or Asian food. I can vouch blindly for their Sushis. Their ambiance is something you'll love at first sight, it gets even better at night. It's close to a replica of Interstellar Movie.

Recently they've added a Dinner Buffet Menu which is highly VVFM and trust me the things they're offering in the buffet is something you won't find anywhere else.

They're giving a six-course menu in just 699/- and it includes Dimsum and Sushis. Great right? It's a steal deal and you don't want to miss this opportunity.

Coming to the Food part -

First Course -

Soup -

Glass Noodle Soup with Asian Celery - One of the best things to have in winter. Soothing watery consistency soup which had a strong flavor of veggies.

Second Course
Ching Mai Uramaki Roll - This was the veg sushi and trust me it was better than nonveg one. The best part was that the elements which were used in the Sushi complimented each other perfectly. Ching Mai means the rice is supposed to be outside and the seaweed inside. I loved the combination, it was better than non-veg because it was juicier and had a nice crunchy taste in between every bite. Also the wasabi you get with it is a bit toned down, if you want the actual stronger wasabi you can ask for the same and get the real taste of wasabi which is hard to handle for some people.

Third Course
Chicken Sui Mai with Chili basil - One of the best things about the dim sum is that the given dips with it are something you find very rarely. The three dips which we had were Thai Chili, Raw Mango papaya one and the last one was black pepper. The Thai chili had a nice smoky flavor whereas the black pepper one was combined with spring onion and the best dip was raw mango and papaya which had a nice tangy yet sweet flavor of raw mango. Coming to the Dimsum, the coating of the dim sum matters the most. It was thin like paper which can barely hold the filling and the filling was perfect. Minced chicken with a nice juicy flavor. What else you can expect?

Fourth Course

Crispy Tofu salt and pepper - Never had tofu is such combination but trust me it can easily beat other vegetable combinations for this section. The juicy flavor of tofu complements the crispy coating perfectly which combined with salt and pepper to make it a star dish.

Fifth Course

Chicken in black pepper sauce - Asian gravy with medium thick consistency was right on point. The black pepper kick was showing in every single bite. The sauce was superb which did the job, chicken or vegetable it doesn't matter to me.

Overall Verdict - For people who think Gong is a bit costlier, the new Dinner Buffet menu is a steal deal guys. Don't wait just go today and make your dinner memorable.

Gong is a lovely place located in Balewadi High Street. The ambience is quite calm and serene, honestly liked the lighting and interiors.I loved the decor of this place. The place serves authentic Thai, Asian cuisine and you can taste those great Asian flavors and the freshness of ingredients used.!Thursday Dinner totally sorted here. Moving over to the food, well here is a glimpse of what I tried:

We started with their signature cocktails. Both Blooming Tea Spritzer and Thai Vacay were quite unique and taste wise it was something different which I had in recent times. The menu is full of amazing cocktails, but these two as recommended were quite good. So don't miss their cocktails when you drop by!From the mocktails went ahead with Jade Spring and Peach Blossom. Basically Peach Blossom was a mixture of peach and apple juice and creamy cinnamon.Sought of thick it was , but taste was good.

The Glass Noodle soup both in veg and non veg was delicious, light, healthy and comforting. Then from the starters Tempura Prawn Roll and Ching Mai Uramakki Roll had decent amount of delicious fillings.A classic dish is done right!! Another classic dish done beautifully by the chef were the Mixed Vegetable Dumpling with Lemon Grass and Chicken Siu Mai with Chilli Basil. The chicken inside the dim sum itself was quite flavorful and juicy. Then we tried Crispy Tofu Salt and Peppers,it was crispy, delicious tofu seasoned simply with just salt and pepper. The tofu cubes had a soft and silky center. The Stir Fried Chicken with Black Beans & Chilli Dry was a bit salty though. The chicken was properly cooked but could have been better.

Moving to the main course, The Vegetable Thai Green Curry with SteamRice was the perfect combo and loved the taste.Sufficient in quantity and tasted pretty good. The Wok Tossed Noodle in Thai Style was decent enough. What l liked most it didn't need any gravy with it. It tasted delicious on its own. Wasn't spicy but was Flavorful.

The entire meal ended on a sweet note with Orange Zest Darshan withIcecream and Chocolate Pastry. To be honest the chocolate pastry could have been better since the taste was a bit different for both the pastries that was served.

So concluding, the staff over here were very courteous and the service was flawless. Overall had a good experience.

Happy Eating!Follow @yummydelightsdiary on Instagram

Mis-management and slow service disappointing me a lot.
Ordered soup, they got something else and then took time to get the correct soup. Same thing happened with starters as well, ordered chilli potato and they brought something else and took their own sweet time to bring it.... luckily the main course noodles arrived before the starters...
Food was good but was disappointed with the service... And all this happened on a weekday...

Gong flaunts an indoor dimly lit setting with iron grill decor! Ideal for a date or a casual meal with your family and peers, this place is for FOOD & Ambience lovers.

I visited them to try out their Dinner Buffet (₹699 Tasters menu) from Monday-Thursday .

It's a 6-course buffet that consists of some delectable and mouthwatering dishes which you must try. You can pick either the veg or non veg option from each course .
Here's all I had-
•Veg Noodle Soup - Very flavourful and light best to enjoy in this weather.
•Sushi- Ching Mai Uramaki Roll, this was the veg sushi and was so good I didn't have the heart to share this😋
•Dumplings- both the veg dumplings and also the chicken Sui mai Thai basil ones were spectacular. The dumplings had a thin outer covering and enough filling.
•Appetisers- This include crispy tofu and stir fried chicken. I personally liked the tofu starter more .
•Main course- I opted for Wok tosses noodles which were the best noodles I had in the longestttt. They serve authentic Chinese food and not the Indianised version which we get at most of the places around . I also tried the Thai Curry with steamed rice which was another hit .
•Desserts- I had forest by night which was the perfect end to this scrumptious meal.
Each dish was better than the previous one and made me wish I had a bigger appetite to finish all of it 😂.
The staff is very courteous and has complete knowledge about each dish they serve.
The buffet is a steal deal for the kind of food and service they offer 💁🏼‍♀️

Follow -slaydoublecheese

I do not go by the statement "First impression is the last one". Went to this placed solely based on the photos and ratings, later came to know it was highly overstated. The place does look cool in the photos but is poorly lit. It was a hard time reading the menu, especially for older people. I wanted to order some Chicken wings and Pan fried noodles which of-course wasn't available. Ordered some dim-sums (Vegetable Crystal) which graciously justified the price by providing 4 pieces of them along with some condiments which were poor in taste and looked stale. To the rescue from it was Pickled Pepper Chicken which was good nothing extra ordinary their. Finally the Stir Fried Noodles & Vegetables were again not that good, everything here was really tangy. I had also ordered some Cocktails which the ladies couldn't finish. I failed to understand why this place is so highly rated. The service which I thought will at least justify the price wasn't bothered much, I had to keep eye open for minutes to reach out to the waiters. I'm still trying to figure out was it my bad day or theirs. Not going to recommend this place to anyone unless I get a better experience, which I thing isn't going to happen anytime soon.

Gong is located in balewadi high street baner pune. A must try for exquisite Asian cuisine and has pretty ambience with dim lights and soft music. We tried their dynamite prawn cocktail which which was served with creamy sriracha and wasabi, we tried their creamy avacado roll which was very delicious. We tried their pad thai noodles in Cantonese style. A must visit place if you love asian cuisine.

Thank you for an amazing experience. The food was excellent and the servers were courteous. My favourite were crab meet sushi, chicken basil dimsums and Vietnamese pork belly. Get indulged in the Asian cuisine range offered by this great restaurant. You deserve 7 stars.

Hands down one of the best Asian restaurant i have been to, in Pune. This place was on my list for some time and finally made it on a Sunday night. The ceiling like a matrix of wooden framework and amazing lighting stands out and the music was LIT. We had corn spinach chestnut dimsums, they were just fabulous, i had avocado sushi (By piece) and my friend had Salmon sushi, i would say the taste was somewhat new to me. Thanks to the staff there, especially Bhukto who kindly guided us about the right way to eat sushi and trained us with chopsticks :P..My friend had Chicken Ramen which looked delightful, i had Nasi Goreng fried rice (veg) with Paneer satay, the paneer was deliciously done with coating of coconut oil adding lots of flavors to the dish and the rice was brilliant. Quantity wise it is sufficient for 2 adults. In drinks we had jade blue spring and Thai exotica, thai exotica is passable. By the end of the meal our tummies were full and satiated. The prices are slightly on the steeper side, but given the ambience, the premium cutlery, service and most important, taste of Asia this place is must visit if you are in Pune.
