Great place, good staff, awesome food. You can’t ask for more. Service is prompt and they give you love demonstration of sea food before frying them

Great ambience and service. Ample parking available too. Liked rawas grill and prawns biryani here. Fish was fresh nd quality was good. Crab soup was awesome too. Mocktails were OK. A bit on costlier side but worth with its quality.
Nirmiti Pawar
It was a nice restaurant, with a classic vibe, professional staff, and the restaurant was near the inox, The food was great, the ginger garlic chutney was yummy . Paneer tikka masala was tasty and normal spicy, nan was soft, corn tikki was super crunchy. Parking available. Location correct on map.

Amazing place to dine at. We went with friends and family for dinner. The food is excellent and the staff is just too brilliant. I was very impressed with the hospitality of the place. The menu has a wonderful spread and we could try a lot of different dishes like bombil fry, malvani clams, crab, prawns, chicken ghee roast, prawn curry and rice. I personally likes everything I ate and no I’m not easy to please. It’s a must visit place. I’d once again like to thank the team there for their commendable efforts in making our evening a great one.

Authentic sea food restaurant. The location is just near to Inox theatre. Spacious parking available. Interior is awesome and well maintained. Food quality and quantity are very good. We ordered Bombay Duck, fish tikka, Surmai Curry, amboli Service is excellent. Staff is very supportive and decent. Prices are a bit high. Overall, it is very good for sea food lovers. Definitely recommended.
Shashank Lele
Nice restaurant. One of the best in and around pune. They serve fresh, tasty food prepared in coconut oil. Portion size is more than adequate, they got plenty items on menu including thalis. The staff is very well behaved, the restaurant is squeaky clean.

Must visit for Indian seafood. But on the spicy side, but you cannot go wrong with the regular curries. We also ordered lobsters and squid, which can be a bit or a miss. Ours was overcooked.
Harpreet Singh
Basically, price of dish will be decided on th spot depending on the size of fish they have. Upon entry, they will showcase their catch of fish and other aquatic animals and then you can choose. I opted for lobster which was expensive yet delicious. I also had surmai rassa. It was also tasty.
Subodh Mahajan
This is one of most famous sea food chain in Pune and Mumbai. Few items like Pomfret, lobster or crabs here are APC - As per the catch. During ordering, the server will showcase their catch of fish and other aquatic animals and then you can choose from them. We ordered for fried Pomfret which was quite tasty, though not the exactly kokan style one. Tandoori Chicken was surprisingly really good. Aboli and mustard sauce are must try.

This seafood restaurant has a good reputation on Google maps. The food was delicious and the waiters were very attentive. Go no further than this ocean-inspired treasure if you want a seafood experience that is absolutely wonderful. The menu features an incredible variety of recent catches that have been imaginatively cooked with artistic flare. Great food and experience. Go with prior booking to get an assured seat. For exquisite items like crab, lobster, big tiger prawns they explain the price and the style of cooking can be preferred.

I visited this sea food heaven recently. Its open till 4 pm these day for dining in. But the restaurant was absolutely empty, we wer the only customers. They have many dishes to offer but very obviously not catering the whole menu. The taste was good, we ordered Butter garlic prawn, rawa surmai, tawa fry pomfret. The last dish was amazing. The rawa fry could have been better and the prawn was standard. They dont have many options for drink as of now. They dont deliver in Zomato/Swiggy but have free home delivery upto 10KM around. Overall a decent experience. Could have been better had it been a normal business day with patrons around. Will plan again definitely.

Place: Location is easy to reach in Bund Garden area. Parking has limited slots. I booked my table in advance but restaurant was not fully occupied. Dineout has restaurant listing but don’t accept booking or payment option. They also deliver food in 10 km radius but eating it warm is recommended 😇 Food: I am core Konkani guy and had malvani food throughout my life so went there with high expectations. In first round itself, I ordered some dishes which are pretty uncommon. Oyster Masala: Best of the lot and it wl be on my list when I visit there again. Oysters were really fresh (difficult to get those specially in places like pune which are far from costal area) and preparation was done with authentic malavani style. Exactly like my grandma cooked 😘. Clams Masala: fresh clams and masala was too good. Found some shell parts in masala but was manageable for me. Baby Shark: masala was good but fish was not fresh. Ideally a well prepared baby shark in konkani style resembles to goat meat style curry but it was not upto expectations Bombil Fry: this one is common pick for kids as they love this easy to eat fish. Chicken curry and Vade: both dishes ordered separately and both were average in taste Service: although restaurant was not fully occupied on weekend, service was slow. At one point in time they missed my order which I had to repeat. Staff was kind and running all over to serve and I feel that is probably a management issue. Price: spent 3k for full meal for avg eating 3 adults and 2 kids so I would consider it as above avg price point. But if you really want to taste malvani food.. this is the place to go. I wl certainly visit agin for my fev. clams and oysters masala 😋 Service and price points are ignored for the taste x-factor and hope they will improve on them in coming time so my cumulative rating it 5 Star. 🥂

Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Ambience 5/5 Pricing $$$ For lunch we tried surmai(King fish/seer) and bangda (Indian Mackerel) Thali, chicken reshmi kabab, and squid fry. In the thali we got bombil (Bombay Duck) fry. They gave a special paste to try with it. It did work wonders. Even fried food was not at all oily and done just right. Thali may look small initially but through the course you will be packed to the brim. Their thecha (traditional chilli paste) is a must try. Squid was perfectly done and was not at all chew. All the fish was fresh amd tasty. Not a single item disappointed us. Their prices are a tad bit on a higher side but with fish being expensive, and cost of operating such a fine dining place is high. So, if you look at the overall experience and spot on taste prices are justified. Staff is super courteous and quick. Worth a visit.

Ambience perfect... Hospitality service too good... And Food is Delicious.. especially Crab (tandoor)was amazing. And then the squid fry and Mutton nulli adding the grace... Overall must visit place for sea food lovers
Nikita
The mandeli were larger in size than normal and the batter they were fried in wasnt spicy enough, they were not that hot when they were served either.
Surmai fry: the meat was tough which suggests that the fish was stale. We weren't a fan of the dry masala that covered the fish either. So to sum it, seafood was disappointing.
Dal khichadi was really tasty.
Staff was courteous and polite.

Amazing lunch today - 2nd Feb. We had crab meat soup, butter garlic tiger prawns, stuffed crab masala with ghavane and caramel custard. Awesome food, very courteous staff and great service. Stuffed crab masala is the best crab I ever had! A must visit place for good meal with family!
Sriram Marirs
I guess this is the cheap restaurant among the 3 restaurants near INOX. It's a completely non-veg restaurant with amazing variety of sea foods that includes crabs, prawns and others. Naan and chicken gravy were not that good. Good service!!

Gajalee,
This place is situated next to inox, bund garden road. Had been here with my family. It’s a multicuisen casual dining restaurant and specially for sea food. It has a nice ambiance. Ambiance was very nice, beautiful paintings were hanged up. We had bombil fry, fish tikka, butter garlic prawns, prawns green chilli sauce, chicken masala, crunchy paneer cheese masala, tomato soup, veg paneer tikka, masala papad, butter roti amboli and egg biryani. Fish was fresh and tasted good, we did not like chicken gravy. Staff was courteous and cooperative and he knew very well about the food. Fish lover should definitely try this place.

A seafood delight! I went here with my parents and they found the seafood one of the best they ever had. The service is impeccable too. Definitely a must visit if you like seafood

Went for dinner last night with a friend. She is an absolute die-hard sea-food fan. So satisfying her bud would have been a tough task. She loved every bit of the place, the food, the arrangement, friendly staff, decor etc. We ordered chicken soup, crab masala, bhakri(recommended by staff) and bangda fish. Every food was upto the mark, crab was properly cooked and served - best dish for me of the night. Bhakri with curry was superb and the fish at the end made out day.

Enjoyed the meal thoroughly. A must visit. Thank you Gajalee :)
Vivek Baranwal
We ordered prwans tandoor, prawns fry, surmai fry and prawn biriyani. Restaurant ambience was good and classy. Staffs were descent and friendly. We liked the food and service.

Great Hospitality from Pravin and other staff .Suggest great dishes to eat . the baby shark masala Was tasty and sufficient for 2 people .
Recommendation 10/10 must visit for Sea food Lovers .
Just a suggestion Thali should be available in the Evening as well .
Sanket Chavan
Good ambience, friendly staff, far too expensive and the taste expectations were too high than what we got. Especially for people like us who belong to coastal area the taste for coastal food matters a lot and it seems like the chef need to understand the coastal flavors more. Prawns biryani was good though.
Prakash Gupta
We ordered a tawa dish with less spice. They. served it very spicy. After complaining also No acknowledgement or owning up on the issue. Not expected at such a place.

My ratings are for the mocking behaviour towards a toddler. My toddler complemented one of the servers for the food served to him. In reply the server mocked at him, asking if he has money to pay for the same, else he would take him inside (made hand gestures of cleaning the dishes). Seriously, is this the way to respond to a complement given? This would be my last visit here!!

We went to Gajalee Pune on 15.06.2019. We have been there several times earlier & had never been disappointed.
However, the experience on 15th was not so great.
Even though the restaurant was only half full, the service was very poor.
In spite of clear instructions to tone down the spices, almost ALL the dishes were extra spicy.
Out of 05 of us who went, 03 of us had upset stomachs the next morning.
They need to pull up their socks.
Viraf Deboo - Pune.

One star is for the unethical and unprofessional staff and for atrocious charges for the food.

We were charged Rs. 3247 for just one portion/dish of Crab Masala. This was not mentioned to us at the time of ordering. The menu had APC mentioned against the dish and when we enquired we were told it would cost us 500-600, however when the bill came, we saw that we were charged Rs. 3247 plus taxes for just one crab masala. You can visit a five star place if you wish to spend that kind of money for just one item on the menu.

Please be cautious and check the menu. These guys cannot be trusted.

Heard a lot about them for their seafood variety and deliciousness. So, thought of visiting them. Chose to sit on table number 7.

For starters we ordered their famous and signature dish bombil fry (bit oily because of the batter) but it was just fabulous in taste. The second starter we ordered pudina fish tikka (made up of surmai) and greatly prepared and delicious in taste.

For main course we ordered rice with malgun special prawn curry. The curry was fantastic in taste.

We chose caramel custard, it was served well nd taste wise the sugar content was perfectly fine.

We also ordered solkadi and spice girl (mocktail).

As far as service is concerned, it's one of the best service I have ever seen. The staffs were courteous and very prompt in their service.

Would like to specially thanks Maruti and Tapas for their great help and service.
This place needs no introduction really. It's famed for its seafood and Dahi Bhindi. I am not a big seafood savant. We went there for the first time. Place is located near the Inox theatre, Bund Garden. First Impression - Great ambience, friendly servers. Food is tasty, but felt bit too gingery (including the solkadhi). Portion size is more than adequate. Pricing is on the costlier side.
I think our order selection went wrong as we ordered stuffed Rawas and then Crab both in green coconut chutney as suggested by our server.
So I would suggest to come here with seafood lover and have a good time.
And if you are seafood novoice like me, just order Dahi Bhindi.
I look forward to coming here again and have a better experience than the last time.

Went for dinner with family here. The ambience is good for having a private dinner with loved ones.
What we ordered:
Tomato soup - the taste was spot on, it activated my taste buds.
Manchow soup (chicken) - was not that great in taste. It's not on the menu.
Prawns Curry - it was a homemade prawn curry very average in taste.Enough for 3 people.
Bhakris and some chapatis to go with.
Veg biryani : Even veg biryani was not that great 3/5 is what I'll give it.
Veg Pulav : really liked the taste of this Pulav it was absolutely yumm and fresh.
As it was my parents anniversary I requested them to give us a pastry with a candle on the table and guess what? they did it so well by everyone coming to the table and cheering for my parents and even playing a song.
I will give 5/5 for the staff behaviour, amazing staff indeed.
Food taste can be better though. Didn't click pitures because enjoyed the dinner alot.Phone was aside. Will visit again to try more dishes.

You want to taste the seafood, then it has to be Gazalee...good quantity, good ambience, very courteous staff, I have always loved their Bombil fry, a melt in the mouth dish..we had a complete meal...chicken liver curry, pompret koshumbir, Bombil fry, surmai fry accompanied by Neer Dosa and Rice. Only concern is their price but guess it was worth it. This place is paradise for seafood Lovers.

Good food. Could have been fresher. But i guess it depends on the items. Ordered solkadi which was good but didnt feel too fresh. Then had butter garlic prawns, masala squid, tandoori rawas in yellow masala, which was literally perfect. So highly recommend this place. Do visit. I love the gajalee in bombay. Order nothing but the seafood. Look for the catch of the day.

The number 1 seafood restaurant any seafood lover can visit! Since the start, as you enter you are warmly welcomed, not too much crowded as it was a weekday afternoon! The staff is very polite, management is smooth! Ambience is okayish.
Dishes to try are fish fry, fish tikka and tiger prawns. I have eaten tiger prawns at many places but no place can beat Gajalee's taste levels! Huge shoutout to Mr. Maruti for his amazing service!
Thanks, crew.

We had very bad experience at dinner.

Firstly, the prices for seafood are unrealistic and secondly the taste is not at all upto the mark. The food is spicy and the quantity is pathetic. We ordered prawns pulao. The rice was not properly cooked and it didn't even fill the small bowl they served in and on top of that we had to search for prawns in that small bowl. We ordered baby lobster dish for Rs 900 all we got was 3 small pieces of prawn like item with some white sauce. Mutton Kheema was horribly spicy.

The prices of seafood are sky high. It is not about high prices but what you get for this kind of high price is unrealistic. Not sure but may be they are good with other items but we wanted to Ambience is awesome and the place is just amazing. Location and accessibility is great.
May be it was not our day.

They say places are made by the people...
A true example set by this warm & positive sea food haven...
A well defined crisp menu & delivering quality beyond expectations.. this place is a “hope” amongst all the fly by night fancy places..
Great food, warm service & overall “experience” of dining out..
Definately shows when theres a place run by people who strongly believe in their ethos ✨
Wishes for good luck 😊

Pune was always deprived of a sea food classic restaurant until Gajalee.
Best sea food hotel in Pune by leaps and bounds.
Fresh fishes.
Great ambience.
Great service.
Polite Honest staff very welcoming.
Great variety of fish preparations.
Cool art hung on the walls.

We had Pomfret, Surmai, Clams, Prawns, Bombay Duck. Very nicely cooked.

It will surely make you remember Goan nd Konkan dishes nd feel nostalgic.
Just would like them to keep it up.
This place gets the malwani flavours absolutely right.
I visit here mostly for the crab, they prepare it very well. The menu here is quite extensive, so I still get to try new things each time I visit which is great. Besides the carbs the green chili basa is also delicious.
Another unexpected advantage here is that it doesn't seem to be very popular in pune yet. So you can always get a table even without reservations, no need to wait 40 minutes.

Was super excited when i heard they are opening up in Pune. Been a regular here since the time it opened. Have tried almost everything on the menu. The staff is very polite and welcoming. Manager has a lot of knowledge about the fiod they serve. Love the fact that they have maintained quality and kept it the same everywhere. Definetly try the crab soup, bombil fry, squid masala, pomfret curry. These come highly recommended. They have a lot of options in desserts. The caramel custard dissolves in your mouth and it is a moment of bliss. The chocolate mousse keeps changing its taste however. Also if you drop by in the afternoon there are thalis which are mouthwatering too. Sadly this option isnt available for dinner.

I’ve been to Gajalee outlets in Pune and Mumbai multiple number of times and have never had anything to complain about . My very recent visit this week though was extremely disappointing!
I ordered the usual Stuffed Bombil , Chicken kebab and Prawn biryani along with drinks . The Chicken starter was extremely delicious . What disappointed me the most was both the other fish dishes had a weird raw fish like aftertaste ! Being a Goan I know that the fish was fresh but the taste was totally off !
Since it’s a seafood joint it is on a bit of a pricy side .
The ambience is good with ample seating and the service is also decent .

Been there with my family on inlaws anniversary.
Nice ambience. Sea food is their speciality.

Tried quite a few dishes.

Pomfret
Surmai
Some veg dishes for my wife.

Taste 4
Quality 4
Cost 4
Ambience 4
Service 4

Overall 4.
Just a suggestion to management the way u have existing dishes for sea food lovers pls keep some for veg lovers too. Else non veg loving husband will have no choice but to look for some other places if they r accompanied by veg loving wives :)
Jatin Mandhania
Great place for sea food lovers. They have variety of spread which includes lobsters, crabs, squids, types of fishes, prawns. Apart from sea food, chicken and mutton are also mouth watering. In biryani, boneless mutton biryani is must try. On the top, hard drinks bottle are served on MRP which sounds great.

Staff are really polite and helpful to guide you with proper options.
Siddhi Tarawade

Date of Visit - 20th October 2018.
Eating sea food in pune has always been a so-so experience. Gajalee turns out to be refreshing change. Goodwill of the Mumbai branch has carried to the Pune branch as well.

Stuffed Rawas - Green masala stuffing and perfect crisp fried to a golden brown.

Surmai curry with neer dosa (ghavne) - the curry was thick and tangy with a coconut flavour. Goes perfectly with the Neer dosa. Recommended to try with the green chutney they serve. Delicious!

We did try some other side dishes. Not much to write about over there. The winnera were the ones stated above.

Verdict - Highly Recommended!
This place is excellent for fish food lovers. You can have here the best recipes of fish and will feel like always visiting again. The service and ambience is equally good.

Had been there last night for a sea food feast and we were SO NOT DISAPPOINTED👌🏻😍. We had visited the Vile parle outlet and were hoping this branch would live up to the high standards. And we were in for a treat.

Starters: We opted for Bombil(bombay duck) crispy fry and Prawns in Green Sauce. The Bombil was crisp and light on the outside and soft inside the batter. Went very well with Chutney given as the accompaniment
Prawns in Green Chilli was the star of the evening. Medium sized prawns in a rich green chilli and garlic paste, as suggested by the Captain, was a favourite and we could see why.

Main course:
We wanted something u dont frequently get in Pune so we opted for Baby Shark(mori) masala. Typical goan/maharashtrian brown colour gravy with the right amt of spice. The fish was fresh and very tasty. Very similar to the preparation used to eating at home.

Bread/Rice:
We took chapatis and Ghaavne(similar to neer dosa) to start with. Ghaavne tasted way better with masala and repeated the order.
Simple steam rice to polish off the masala.
We prefer to have Sol kadhi with rice than as a welcome drink(just as yummy either way). So saved it for the last. Though the colour n spices were on point, the main ingredient i.e the coconut dint seem very fresh and was slightly off-putting. But not a factor big enough to dislike it.

Verdict- Do visit for a hearty and home like sea food meal. Try the less common fish varieties as u wont find them very often in pune. Slightly on the expensive side but well worth the quantity and the taste. 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

Amit does an excellent job of welcoming and helping us to choose from different sea food menu. Awesome sea food, pleasant environment and relaxing music... What else someone wants at Saturday night?

Going there on a busy evening might be a very bad idea. The place is not well equipped to function at full capacity, I believe. Went there with my family just before the start of the month of Shravan. The place was jam packed. Ordered tandoori chicken, tandoori pomfret and a couple of veg dishes. The food was undercooked, not well marinated at all. After a lot of probing, the manager did accept that they had limited tandoor capacity that resulted into undercooked food. We left the food halfway! The manager, however, did waive off the entire bill.

Request the management to look into this matter and have zero tolerance policy on quality of food!!!

Chicken malwani curry - mindblowing again !! Huge in quantity and excellent in taste and quality...

4. Ghavan - its nothing but neer dosa. 100/100.. No margin for error

5. Steam rice

Overall rating - 4. 5/5
#VFM
Total bill of all above 5 items + 1 mineral water = 917 INR
#dovisit

2 आठवड्या पूर्वी गेलो होतो.. A truly amazing place. The food is good and the staff is amazing. I would like to mention it here that i visited this place when I was in rush and I had to catch a train in an hour. They served me dishes in hardly 10 mins.. and my lunch (with starters and main course) was done in half hour. The staff was really quick and the food was superb.. Gajalee is a must visit place.

The crabs here are to die for! Did not quite like the pompfret and bombil fry though (the outlets in Mumbai serve better ones)
Ambience and service were perfect.
Ok so on a solo food searching spree I happened to come across this place which was highly appreciated on Zomato.. Being in Maharashtra I was craving for some sea food aur bus phir kya tha, meri tadakti fadakti bhookh mujhe waha tak le gayi..

I ordered Sp. Prawns curry with Amboli and steamed rice.. Akela tha kitna khaata..😁 So this Amboli is supposed to be "Neer Dosa" of souther India 😃 The prawns curry was yum and tasted absolutely dhama dham 😋 To digest all this also ordered Solkadi which was equally good and was also promoted as a digestive drink made up of cocunut milk, kokum and blah blah blah.. Achha tha bus thats it..🤣

Overall a recommended place for sea food..♥️

I have been a frequent visitor to their restaurants in Mumbai and went to their Pune outlet only to be thoroughly disappointed by their service.

Date of visit: 07-Jul-2018 (Saturday)

Bill Amount: 1469.00

Before I write further, let me tell you clearly there were no issues with the food, but I think the service staff working there spoiled our mood in a worst possible way.
So it was past 3pm and we called the restaurant at 3:21PM on their number (02026132222) specifically asking them if they will be able to serve us if we reach there in 15 minutes. They politely confirmed and so we went there happily.
While we were having the food, they asked whether we want more rice. We happily obliged and saved some of the gravy for later so as to have it with the rice.
10 minutes later, we were told the kitchen is closed and they will not be able to serve rice. We told them they should have checked it before they asked us for more rice, but they did not have a convincing reply.
FINAL NAIL IN THE COFFIN CAME WHEN THEY GAVE US THE BILL AND INSISTED US TO PAY WHILE WE WERE STILL EATING. WHEN WE TOLD THEM TO WAIT, THEY TOLD THEY NEED TO GO HOME AND SO WE NEED TO PAY ASAP.
WE INSISTED FOR THE MANAGER IN CHARGE OF THE SHIFT TO SPEAK TO US, BUT WERE TOLD HE HAS ALREADY LEFT FOR HOME!!!

Lessons to be learnt by the restaurant or staff:
1. Should deny guests at entry or on call if they cannot serve or approaching kitchen closure time
2. Should ask to repeat order only after confirming that the kitchen is open and they will be able to serve it
3. Clearly communicate when the kitchen is about to be closed so that the guests can place their orders before closure
4. NEVER EVER give the bill and ask them for payment before they have finished eating. THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST RUDE THINGS TO DO IN RESTAURANT BUSINESS.

Gajalee is an absolute favourite place for any fish Lover .. the wide range of sea food that this place offers is amazing .. loved the ambience the vibe here is very fresh .. Definitely will revisit soon :)

Was delighted to find one of my Mumbai favourites here in Pune. Their clams and prawns Ambat tikhat and Sukka are to die for! Try the stuffed bombil- out of this world and they make solkadhi like no other. A perfect family restaurant. No loud music, perfect food , good for a nice family dinner and if you want to choose it for a date then make sure u both love sea food and then nothing else will matter. Can't comment on their meat coz if Ur in Gajalee and u r eating anything other than sea food, Ur missing out on a lot!

Yummy chicken Biryani, butter chicken and solkadi, the solkadi was perfectly flavored and helped beat the summer heat and is good for digestion. A must go for all fish lovers as the fish curry rice is the top selling item. The butter chicken was a little bland but there are other main course variants too

I am writing this review after my 3rd visit to this place. This place is so welcoming and the entire staff make you feel comfortable. Kudos to the management & staff for the overall experience.Based on recommendation from the waiter during my 1st visit I took tandoori crab and wow !! what a dish. I tried this dish all 3 times that I visited; it never disappointed me. The tandoori marinade was amazing and every time they cook it to perfection. It's slightly on spicy side but a perfect match for chilled beer. You can choose the size of the crab based that it will be priced as well. It's sightly on expensive side but worth once in a while.

We placed order of Neer dosa along with Prawns Masala. The prawns were cooked really well and succulent but was really disappointed with Neer Dosa. I guess they precooked Neer dosa and warmed it up as per the order. The edges of Neer dosa was super dry & crumbly. Making Neer Dosa is not a huge effort wish they paid little attention to this while serving us.(I coudn't send it back coz I had flight to catch). This will not stop me visiting this place as they have huge variety of sea food dishes on their menu. If you are sea food lover then visiting this place is must.

Service : Top notch 5/5
Food : 4/5
Cost :3.5/5 (on higher sider) Ended spending 3.5k for 2 people.

My daughter had heard of Gajalee from her friends and we decided to try it out. We went here for lunch--had crab meat soup, bombil fry, prawn masala, and naan.

The crab meat soup was spot-on. The bombil fry was a bit oily for us, nevertheless, it tasted good with the chutney. Now, I could not make the contents of the chutney, but it was one of the best tasting chutney I ever had with fish!

The nan was soft and good, but the highlight of the lunch was the prawn masala. It was just out of the world! It was yum... we literally cleaned the dish with the naan!

The ambiance was great and the service was good. In short, the dining experience was great. I recommend Gajalee to all the seafood lovers. Wanted to take some pics to add to the review, but the food was good and we were two hungry people. So totally forgot about clicking pictures :(

Note: My rating is 4.5 (0.5 reduced for the oily bombil) :)

We went for lunch there after hearing so many good reviews about the place. It truly lived up to the expectations.
We were given a glimpse of their catches of the day - Rawas, Surmai, Lobster, Crab, Bangda and Tiger Prawn. They also informed about the prices as well.
We ordered Stuffed Rawas Tandoori as Starter (suggested by captain) . It was really delicious and a must try (in my opinion).. For main course, we went for crab masala, bhakhri and plain rice. Everything was cooked properly and was yummy.
Last but not the least, the staff was very courteous and friendly.

We friends had visited this place to celebrate his anniversary. The service was very nice and food was good however the manager Mr Prasad spoiled our mood and entire afternoon by his rude and arrogant behavior. My friend had got a voucher of 15% discount which we tried to redeem at the end. However they came back saying the voucher has expired. We tried asking them the reason for same and they told that its validity has expired. We told him that from the time we got the voucher it is still valid. Also we spoke to Mr Prasad asking him to connect to marketing team or someone senior. However we was not ready for same and was very rude which was not at all expected from brand like gajalee . But I guess that the price you pay for food food... Bear misbehaving and arrogant manager... Surprisingly the service staff are more polite and curtious unlike manager. I think they don't need a Manger if one out there is like Mr Prasad

I have visited this place twice. I ordered starters and soups. The place is good for veg lovers like me but is heaven for non veg lovers (my colleague).
The place is next to Inox and you get a great feeling when you enter the restaurant as the place has a calm atmosphere
Do try their palak soup.

Humble and courteous staff. Beautiful and comfortable ambiance. Decently stocked up Bar. Fantastic seafood! A must visit place for seafood aficionados! Highly recommended: sol Kadi, prawns (all dishes), fish tikka, Bombay duck, nulli mutton. Keep up the good service and excellent quality of seafood. All dishes in general are not very spicy but amazingly flavourful. Cheers!

Highly overpriced for the quantity delivered, fish was rubbery and Mutton Roganjosh was half covered in oil. Expected a lot better since it was a first time ordering.

When in pune - Gajalee is a place that should be on your bucket list if you are a foodie.. the ambiance of this restaurant is tastefully done. The service here is exceptional. A spl mention to the man taking our order since we had ordered seafood they warned us not to take buttermilk as our drink. These small gestures is what makes a place stand out.
We were recommended to try dishes like amboli, ghavne, solkadi , prawns and fish curry.. all the dishes were amazing and delicious. The only let down was the plain rice which was over cooked and looked like it had been sitting around for long. We ended on a high with creme brulee dessert which was a treat to watch the sugar being caramilesed with the blowtorch.
Gajalee gives u a near perfect dining experience. Will definitely visit the next time im in pune. Thank u gajalee for a wonderful meal 😊

Pathetic service. The waiting is too long. We were there on Mother’s Day, took my mom and family out thinking of having a good time. But was very disappointed and regretting that I chose Gajalee. Out of 2.5 hours we were there, 2 hours was the waiting time. No napkins, no tissue paper, no water, even after asking for water multiple times the waiter came after 15 mins. And this happened many times for all items. First they forgot one of the starters we ordered so wait. Then Sabzi and roti was served but had to wait for daal. Then after we were done eating one roti, second sabzi came. Just pathetic. Every thing was very disappointing, do not ever go to this place. You are guaranteed to die of no water or because of wait.

Nice place and exotic ambience. Great food for both veg and non veg lovers. Seafood is a must here. After the meal, you get to review them in their tablet for which you get a 5% discount coupon on your phone through SMS. So cool.

Had been waiting to set my foot on this place for a very long time. Finally it happened during my Pune visit along with another food enthusiast. This was the grand finale of our food festival and truly an apt one. Our host was a frequent visitor and didn't give us the trouble of deciding wag to order. We started with prawn soup as crabmeat soup was not available that day. After that we ordered starters like bombil fry, mackerel and seer fish kabab and repeated the bombil fry as we could not have enough of it. We were already full before ordering the main course of some fish curry and amboli, which is like a cross between set dosa and an appam. It was a great combination and we ordered more. Will definitely remember this visit for a long time more for the company we had and of course the excellent food they ordered.

Great taste, good service! We had the prawns fry and it was amazing. Crispy exterior and well marinated prawns. The rotis and nans were soft and the curries were lip smacking delicious!

It's a must visit place if you are planning to have nice time with your family. The service is exceptional. The crew is very kind and humble. Coming to the food, it's too good. Definitely try their chicken biryani and reshmi kebab. The chocolate pastry for dessert will add sweetness to your outing.

A shoot of the Gajalee Mumbai, lives up to the originals name. the mutton curry is mouthwatering and rightly done . The fish curry and Rice combination shouldn't be missed, the curry consistent coconutbmilk and some whole garlic and onion pieces which is an absolute delight.

The food was absolutely delicious, we had surmai fry, bangda and fish curry. We also ordered a couple mutton dishes and everything was absolutely delightful. Each dish had a lovely unique flavour and the service was impeccable!

We also had dessert. The caramel custard was so delicious, so was the phirnee. I've been to this restaurant s couple times and the service and quality of food has been consistent.

Definitely worth a visit.

Visited this restaurant yesterday again after few months. What an improvement. The menu has been changed. New more inclusive menu. Food was excellent. Service was superb. Service was just 5/5. For me the rating is not 4 but 4.5/5. Wonderful restaurant. Must visit.

Simply love this restaurant! We went to Gajalee last year on our 20th anniversary. We had marvelous time. They surprised us with a beautiful cake straight from their bakery.
Went again last Saturday, 27th Jan 2018. They didn't let us down this time too. Extremely well mannered staff, very cooperative and courteous.
One of the best restaurants we've ever been to.

I can't stop myself from having dreams about waking up in this restaurant and being surrounded by Sea Food. This place is certainly expensive but every penny spent is worth the visit.

As we expressed our intend to have seafood, we were presented with display of their fresh catch brought to us on a plate for us to pick and choose. They are huge lobster ( min of 800gms each, pomfret 1000gms sizes, crabs @1000gms). We choose the 1Kg crab for our main course. For starters, we had a huge portion of clams in a malvani style stir sauce, bombay duck batter fry, and surmai chunk fish tikka.

Once we finished our starters , the staff came over with dinner table bibs to cover ourself to battle the huge crab. Imagine grown adults with bibs around your neck....Lol.

The crab was cooked in a green chili sauce and it was spectacular. The crab was so huge and so meaty that after a while we actually got tired trying to finish the creature.

Well worth the visit if you live seafood. I'm gonna go there soon for the Lobsters next....Can't wait.

The surprise was at the end of our dinner, when the staff gather around our table with a chocolate cake and started to wish me and my wife on our Anniversary and started clapping and the speaker had celebratory music playing.

Clams. I was always a little vague about how it was prepared, what does it taste like what is it served with. Had my questions answered with the Butter Garlic Pepper Clams that went great with a draft of beer. The butter poured out of the clams and the fresh pepper added just the flavour. An absolute heart-winner!
Next up was Surmai fried with a thick coating of rava. This was crispy and delicious & went perfect with the coriander chutney. Not sure if this was on their menu, but the rava-fried Surmai was just what I had in mind.
Was a frequent at their Andheri branch in Mumbai, but this specific outlet in Pune was as good. Instrumental music always sets the ambience for foodies, with little distraction to steal the focus. Staff was extremely courteous and polite, the place was tidy, servings were reasonably large.
Gajalee is truly a delight!

Would like to state that the ambience is pretty and the service is top notch, impeccable actually. We started with the solkadhi. It was quite nice. Authentic. For starters we had bombil fry and prawns fry. The prawns fry was delicious. I was however disappointed with the bombil fry, which happens to be my favorite thing. It was more like a pakora and I've had better bombil fry elsewhere. We later ordered the seafood biryani. It was simply amazing. It would have been a 5 star experience had the bombil fry not disappointed me so much.

The perfect restaurant for seafood and fish lovers . A Maharashtrian restaurant with chain all over Pune and Mumbai. The amboli was perfect and so waa rice bhakri. Had surmai fish fry which was super fresha nd crispy served with the best tasting coriander chutney ever. the Mutton rassa and koshbur Basa was deliciously. this one is included now in my regulars

Food quality has gone down.had visited this place a year back and the food was good then. The bombil fry was oily and not that great..the prawn curry was bland and very watery..never order the red prawn curry. The prawns also were tasteless.

Have been hearing a lot of Gazalee Mumbai. After seeing branch in Pune, I decided to visit. They will show you what all creatures they have in a plate. 😉
Ambience and service is very nice. Food is average. And it's little expensive I felt

This is the first time eating at the Pune branch, and it was just as fantastic as my first Gajalee 'experience' in Villa Parle!

The service is second to none, the wait staff are friendly, attentive, and efficient and it made the whole experience very pleasant.

The food is, of course, utterly delicious. The seafood is as fresh as one can get, and Gajalee take great pride in this. We had the clams koshimbir, which is to die for. The masala they use is just delicious. We also had the garlic pepper prawns, again really delicious. And finally we had the dry fry King fish along with some nan and roti.

We will definitely eat here again, and I'd highly recommend this place to anyone who likes fresh seafood prepared with pride!

The food is focused on seafood was just basic and a bit overpriced. The ambience and service are truly top notch. A good place for a quite dinner with family and friends

Starter of crab meat soup was good.
Had stuffed Rawas - the stuffing was quite generous and tasty.
Surmai biryani was also quite good.

One thing I always appreciate is the wide variety and fresh sea food you get here.

The food never disappoints...always a go to place for maharastrian sea food. All time favourite is mandelic fry and fish curry. Chicken dishes are good as well.

Ambience 3.5 * : it has huge space near inox, a valet parking too. Apt lighting, focus lights on paintings on the wall accents the class. A bar in the corner finishes it nicely.

Service 4* : well behaved staff. A minor glitch, main course was brought in even before the starters were finished.

Food 3.5 *: butter pepper garlic crab was not a let down but neither was it great. It was high on gar
Garlic even as per Indian standards. Crab chunks were not uniform. It was a paste somewhere n big chunks somewhere. King fish curry was ok along with amboli (appam) and neer dosa.

Still rating it low as my wife fell ill immediately after we left. Even I have been feeling high acidity since afternoon. Something was not good about the food.

Good food but very costly and very less quantity
Pranaya Dalvi Kadam
One of the few places to crave for seafood in Pune. I have earlier been to their branches in Mumbai, however this outlet has the best taste.
Only drawback, cost is high compare to quantity. But you can always prefer this restaurant for Malwani n Goan taste..
