Review Vishnu Ki Rasoi - Pune

Akki
This place is based on concept of all you can eat buffet serves you traditional Maharashtrian dishes. Ambience is worth noting. From price point it's 400 per person which very good considering the options you get here. You have pay for puranpoli if you want to eat which is not included in package. Overall ratings : Food : 4/5 Ambience :4/5 Price : 4/5 Quality : 4/5

Initially I was against the idea of travelling 15kms to have dinner at Vishnuji ki Rasoi, but frankly, this was the best marathi dinner I ever had. The main course was tasty. I loved ukadleli bor, panchamrat, thalipeeth and soft chapatis.

I must say I missed experiencing such an amazing food experience until I visited Vishnuji ki Rasoi. What a concept! I will enlist how it works here and why is it the most correct way... How? You enter the reception, you pay for the no of people planning to eat at the place, you are escorted to the main eating area and that is where you see the cultural authenticity of mediaeval Indian era... Those old style brass utensils arranged in one of the corners to give a gist of how our ancestors used to eat years ago. That open and wide area to make you fell the grandeur of the place... That big screen where Vishnuji( the favours chef) himself is shown preparing various dishesh and many legends visiting him at diff occasions. Most importantly, the way you are served here ( or not served! ) Once you settle on a table, you will be given no of Steel plates you have paid for, and there starts the journey of epicure. You yourself have to get up...roam around the stalls, and take only what you would like to have. You can do this as many times as you want..no restrictions! Why is this good? Because, this way they can stop wastage of lot food which usually in Thali restaurants happen. Here, helpers will be there, but they don't generally help you with the food. They take away your dishesh. Clean the table and may help you get some or the other food item. But generally you are on your own here. We also saw people having big gatherings like birthday or anniversary party. And everyone enjoying the food and the ambience thru and thru. The place is decorated very well and hence people like to take pictures here. About the food: Menu keeps changing everyday. But whatever will be there, it's gonna be delicious, made with love. Right from the chutneys to the main course and the dessert, one enjoys everything Vishnuji and the team has to offer. You also get to make your own Paan here Kudos to the expertise, the concept and the thoughtfulness about not wasting food!
Pallavi Kshirsagar
There is variety of food offered here. A proper authentic Maharashtraian flavour of food is available at buffet service. Starting from starters to end at paan which is self made is present there. Must give it a try

Few dishes are very good few are average but the place is good for family outing, good environment to spend a memorable evening the staff is good, overall a experience for vegitarian food lovers. Food flavour is authentic Maharastrian. You can choose what you eat.

This place was in my wish list for a long time and finally this weekend I made it. I was a little sceptical before going here looking at some of the latest reviews on a few social networking platforms. However, after visiting the place and enjoying the food, I will surely recommend it for the tasty spicy food. "Vishnu Ji Ki Rasoi" looks like a small food Village with various options majorly focused on Maharashtrian food from Vidarbha region. There is a section to serve North Indian food, but I focused on Maharashtrian food. Started with pakoda and Pani puri, followed by Zunka/Jhunka, Roti, Masala Bhat, Kadi, Sev ki Sabji, Chhaas and different types of Chutneys. Moong Daal halwa as a dessert was also very tasty. At the end you get a chance to make your own Paan. I enjoyed making the Paan and enjoyed it. Foods were served hot and the ambience is very good. Staffs are polite and helpful. You can buy Ghee drenched hot Puranpolis at an extra cost. Overall it's a value for money place with pure "Desi" taste of Maharashtra.

I know Vishnu Dada from nagpur. Visited this place on friendship day and got the booking done in advance as this place is always crowded and to get in becomes difficult if you don't book in advance. This place opens its doors at 12.30 pm so it makes sense if you reach the place just before that time. It has a coupon system and the cost the day we visited was Rs.400 per person for unlimited meals. It contains Maharashtrian and Punjabi delicacies along with very tasty accompaniments like chutneys, achars and salads. And at Vishnu ji a meal is never complete without the tasty desert of Mung Halwa. This is by far the best dessert I have had. The place has a very niche ambience and you enjoy the hustle and bustle this place has. Though it becomes very noisy in the indoor section but that's the beauty of this place. I recommend enjoying the lunch with them and must try their mava kulfi (though it's chargeable ).

Few people like this and few may not! Everytime you have to walk to the counter for getting the menu you want. It may make you feel tired. Also the counters close at 10:30pm So make sure that you reach there for dinner before 8 or 8:30 . Taste was good! They are offering limited no. of items but in unlimited quantity and with good quality. Chef Vishnu ji is a well known personality and his special touch to the menu is clearly visible. Overall a good experience. Value for money Restaurant at the price of 400 this is best! Ratings : * * * *

One of the best buffet service. Traditional Maharashtrian dishes. Great Ambience. Rs 400 per person which very considerable. But You have to pay for puranpoli if you want.

Good food, great service, nice ambiance. Excellent choice of dishes.

Pure Veg Thali place with a little bit of everything - Maharashtrian, Gujrathi, North India touch.
Prior reservation is recommended otherwise be ready to wait for long.
Ambience is rustic, with simple seating arrangements. Its a buffet place where you help yourself.
Puran poli, Dessert Moong dal ka halwa, and some curries from main course are the must try items.

Since having mentioned the positives must mention the points which disappointed me;

VV poor service. We got our thalis after 15 minutes of being seated. Their starters included bhaji and aloo vada which was a let down.
Four wheeler parking huge issue here, no dedicated parking space except for 3-4 vehicles against seating capacity of 100+.
Washrooms are the most smelliest and unhygienic and not cleaned regularly.

One of the best vegetarian restaurant in Pune. The food the presentation and the ambience everything is very great. Kudos to VKR team.

The ambience is good, food is good as well. However i would rate their desserts high, especially gajar halwa and puran poli drenched in ghee😋 also tomato soup. I wud highly recommend their puranpolis to everyone and for food its okay..u wont b dissappointed. However i think the price is a bit high, as other places offer much variety to eat in same place.

We had lunch with family at this place. Sunday afternoon menu was good. Paneer sabji, Chhole, palak veg, patvadi rassa, zhunka, naan, tandoor roti, fulka, bhakri, kadhi, masalebhat, buttermilk, rice and dal, mudal halva, pickles, chatneys and first but not least starters which we had it before all this. In starter, mug bhajji and tomato soup was served. Mug bhajji was fresh made served with imli chatney at self serve counter. Zhunka taste was authentic like vidarbha style, chhole gravy taste was perfect. For proper finish, you get to make your own PAAN after food. They can keep gulkand n few supari items with Paan. Ambiance was good but can be improved considering daytime problem of open seating where direct sunlight can create problem and sealing fans are not placed nearer. Overall good place to visit.
Ravi Bhardwaj
Its a very good place to stay with family. Enjoy unlimited buffet.
Have fun, click selfie

Excellent food. They have good deals on a weekday lunch buffet. Too many things to choose from and you need to be clear about your priorities about what to eat. Worth visiting again.

Visited this place on a weekend.

Parking - On the roadside. Very crowded on weekends.

Booking - They donot honour any online booking after 8pm. So be prepared on weekdays for long waiting time. I had booked via eazydiner for the 8.30 slot still had to wait 20mins to get the seat.

Rates - 370₹ per head for dinner buffet.

Seating and ambience - Seating is in a open place. Quite crowded. No ac, only fans.

Food - There is a live Thalipith counter and a snacks counter. Snacks counter had bhajee and tomato soup. Quite tasty.
There was a separate punjabi and a Maharashtrian food buffet counter.
Food was very tasty. Some very tasty food items included Thalipith, pithla, shev bhaji, shengdana chutni (कुटलेले), thecha. I just loved the thalipith. Food items were very tasty😋👌👍
There is a pan counter where u can make your own pan, ingredients for which were kept by the side...

Overall a must visit with family, however, i feel the rates are quite high for the varieties provided.
Ravi Shingwekar
We went as guests as part of a group. The restaurant is not prepared to handle large crowds, though the crowd is as per seating capacity, and the place is chaotic. One has to stand in long queues as long as half hour before you can settle on your table, as there is only one counter to serve each dish, feel we get as if we are beggers waiting our turn , no proper ventilation, and the feel is uneasy. Avoidable. Food is good but the ambience was bad.
Krupal Joshi
We have been there for dinner. Punjabi food was really awesome, like chole with ghee tadka, fulka with ghee. But soup and starter was not upto the mark. Only one item in starter (i.e. Sabudana wada). Also toast was not there for soup. Jumka taste was not authentic Maharashtra. Found only one item in dessert i.e. Gulabjamun.

Remaining food was good.

Just a suggestion, keep more than one item in starter and dessert
Abhishek Gawande
I am regularly order lunch but roti are too small atlaest give extra roti on demand but u are not providing it even after given instruction. Vishnu ji plz consider it.over all food is good
Shekhar Kulkarni
Extremely terrible management. Giving one star as it is not possible to give zero stars. They decided to not honor online reservation and blamed excuses after showing confirmation email and number. You have to respect customers time and commitments you make it you are a respectable business. You have lost me my friends and family as customers forever.
Sudarshan Tope
The food was really excellent everything was really perfect
But one this I would really want to mention is the packing which comes with the Home delivery looks nice but while removing it u have to just be very careful and it almost too me 5 mins to remove the packing of the meal
They have made it split proof but forgot that the another person even haves to remove it back and have the food in it 🤣🤣

But the test was really awesome! It think they should work on the packing thing !!
Makrand
2* for food. But other things...needs lot of improvment.
1. Please change the thali and katori size. Itz toooo small. Had 2 leave my table 4 to 5 times due to this.
2. Please hide the patraz. They just make ur restro feel like a college canteen.
3. And pls do something abt the washrooms!!!!!! Felt like a public toilet.
4. Also ask ur staff to keep an eye on people not following the queue. Some people were like they came for a relative's weeding.
Sybarite
Good option for Maharashtrian food especially the vidarbhian cuisine. Ambience and sitting arrangement is not very great. Rates are reasonable.

They have a fixed menu, which is updated every few days, and is charged for 360 rs. per person.

The food is tatsy, and hygienic. They were having punjabi & maharashtrian options when I visited. The staff is nice. i liked there butter naan and thalipith.Food is buffet, which I have no problem with.

Looks okay to have food with large group and family

Several generic dishes served - can get variety food

Hygiene- being in Open needs little attention
Northern Lites
Too caustic too oily and expensive, you pay for the toxins that can get in the body. Crispy Batata is full of trans fat, Biryani does not go well with the menu and is too salty. Khichadi with Cauliflower is strange. Thali peeth is not served with Dahi or Chutney

You decide if you want to pay so high for Tomato Soup, some Garlic, Bore, Aamras

Ambience is bad- Too many people becoms like Kumbhmela

I have visited this place almost 4 times and this place never disappoints.. from the welcome drink to their display of variety of chutney and the hot fulkas..every item is superb..and the plus point is as it has self service, the food doesnt get wasted..

Vishnuji ki rasoi is a simple and decent place which serves homely Maharashtrian and Punjabi food where sumptuous buffet is spread out in the whole area. The place serves each and every maharashtrian delicacy right from the basic spicy rassa with thin consistency to the very technical gola bhaat. The place has a live counter for the soups and even for the basic maharashtrian bread like thalipeeth, bhakri, fulke, chapati. A person can get a whole view of the preperation of delicious food while sitting and relaxing. The best part is that the place has unlimited serving of each and every item, A person can eat as much as they want. The menu of this place keeps on changing everyday where different unique items are added to the menu. The quality of the food at this place is maintained from the first serving to the last serving and all the items are freshly prepared. The place also serves rich and creamy punjabi gravies to settle one’s tastebuds and that’s what gives a combination of creamy and spicy food which is unique and one cannot don't get such variety of food in one thali all together. The place is a must try if you are looking for simple Maharashtrian and Punjabi homely food.

A long pending restaurant visit. Since it's a Veg restaurant, it was kept pending for a long time

At just a short notice, decided to finally visit.

It was a little confusing for a first timer. Where to start from, no one to guide to.

Finally figured that out and started with Kokan Sorbet and pakoda. Pakoda was not great at all.

Moving to main course. Nothing was great at all. Aamras was free flowing and tasted good. Masala Bhat was the only other saving grace.

Food is buffet, which I have no problem with.

Parking: Sufficient on the road
Ambience: Average
Washrooms: Decent

The food was not upto expectations in taste. The Dal Pakoda prepared by my mom is much better than what we had today. The Patodi vegetable also was not good,my grandma used to make much tastier than what we had. The Amras was not made from Alphanso mangoes as claimed in add. Sorry but wont like to ever visit again. Just on the name of Vishnuji Manohar we trusted the food to be good. Sorry but not upto the mark

Been here twice. Food is okay . Price okay for unlimited food. Nothing to talk about ambience. 0/5. who likes to eat Maharashtrian thali better for them. Not good place to hang out with friends. Not recommended in Summer .

Very authentic taste and traditional maharashtrian vegetarian food. Ambience is good and the variety of pickles and chutney is good..it's always best place to arrange family get together. I visited this place atleast 2 to 3 times and love experience of munching all the time..

Visited your Raja Mantri Rd restaurant last night. We were thinking of visiting this place for quite some time, but the visit turned out to be an anticlimax ! This level of cost-cutting is finally going to cut down your foot fall man ! You should have reduced the number of dishes, & focused on making the food palatable. People are moving away from buffet type restaurants precisely because of this attitude of the restaurateurs. Some of them really think that their patrons as starving hogs rampaging on their premises. They should understand that buffet arrangement is just a convenience for the patrons. They do not go there for bargain hunting or hogging the food. People will comeback only if they are delighted with the experience. Of course, we were expecting a traditional food, but it should have been refined for 21st century palate. The sitting arrangement too was like a dhaba, instead of making it look like a little rustic & nostalgic.
Satchit Desai
Very basic yet fabulous food and taste. The choice of menu is unique and combination is always great whichever day you go. I am sure you will enjoy the experience of Maharashtrian thali with hot bhakri, phulka, dry chutney, cold Tak, masala rice and much more. Worth a visit if you have not and a fan of an authentic typical dhaba lover.

Nice place for vegetarians, especially thali lovers and since it's got village kind of ambiance, my relatives from outside Pune loved this place for its unique ambiance.

One of the many restaurants on the road near Mhatre bridge, this is quite a renowned one.
The ambience is fairly simple and adequate.
They have a fixed menu, which they update every few days, and is charged at Rs. 360 per person.
The food tasted good, and everything seemed hygienic.
The served a few simple punjabi, and maharashtrian options when we visited.
The staff is courteous, and an overall positive vibe is what you get from them.
Recommended, if you're looking for a get-together meal, for a large group.
Rahul Pai
Good food, nice ambiance, variety of Chutneys and pickles, it's a self service place, it would have been better if some items could have been served

Orders are closed but restaurant people are saying they're accepting orders. So confusing and time consuming. Need to improve online service.
Nilimag.kale@gmail.com
Very pathetic and horrible experience.
Not at all worth for money.puran poli which is main Maharashtrian dish, not included in buffet .they charged extra 50 per Puran poli.it includes only some sabji not all which is shown on the picture.the staff of too much unprofessional.never want to visit again.all food counter are closed though the customer is inside and eating.they didn't bother wether all customers are satisfied or not they just closed the all food counter.

Vishnuji ki Rasoi is an amazing place where I can count on if its family function or a birthday celebration. We celebrated my mom's 50th birthday on 14th Jan 2019 on the occasion of Makar Sankranti next day. I like their assistance and the people were very humble and helpful. What I felt is that each and every recipe was beautifully made and food was also tasty & yummy including different variety of food they offer a very good concept of Punjabi and Maharashtrian cuisine. As it is January.. (end of winter) may be they could have added Hurda and Tilgul poli just as an add-on dish to celebrate Makar Sankranti.. I like their presentation I found hotel staff hygienic & atmosphere free. Overall great food, recommend for large group & family outing!!

If you want tasty food with lots of variety , then you must visit this place , the ambience is good as well

Probably the best Thali restaurant in Pune..

We went to Vishnuji ki rasoi to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was an absolute pleasure to have the traditional Maharashtrian food there. Soup, starter, thalipeeth, main course with Vidarbhian flavour, desserts and paan to conclude the food fest, was very much fulfilling. We appreciate Manager Mr. Samir, who made us feel special on our anniversary, in spite of perfectly handling so many guests at a time. Worth a special appreciation!
It was a pleasant surprise to meet our old NRI friend who had chosen this as a place for dinner with his extended family.
Vishnuji ki rasoi is indeed a great place to be together with friends and family and to relish traditional food.

I can never be tired of this place !!! Love the ambience, it’s always pleasant. A proper family place with punjabi and Maharashtrian buffet spread in the evening and Maharashtrian for afternoon ! Soooo much yummy food to eat ! Their buttermilk freshly done breads (naan, bhakri,) and thalipeeth are the best ! Ample parking space !!! Not too expensive !
Tanmay Nirgude
Example of an extremely pathetic management. You go to the restaurant at around 1:00pm on a Sunday to order a parcel of 10 Thalis, and find yourself still at the restaurant at 2:20!! I just couldn't fathom if am waiting for my parcel or to watch how miserably do they manage their restaurant.
A big fatt "Zero"!! Non-recommendable!

It's a really good place for a huge family get together. You will get proper Marathi vegetarian food right from thecha and taak. They usually have variety of different dishes that you can try. I feel they should add couple of more sweet items.

So, it was a society get together when i had visited first time to Vishnu Ji Ki Rasoi. We really had a good time. Perfect place to have best veg food with families or society mates. All different kind of dry Chatnis and Aam ras was on maximum demand.

Excellent taste. Very good and innovative efforts to serve traditional food. Staff is very polite and friendly. Worth going. Great for any get together of friends or family.

Lot of people told me about this place and since then I have eaten here like 3 times. My experience here has been a good one.The food is good.Quality is good and also priced economically.
Arun Malur
We went for the Diwali thali for Rs 380. The food was very basic not at all worth the price. The Maharashtrian food had only 3 or 4 varieties (extra charge for sweet) and same was with Punjabi dishes. The ambience was not so great either with uncomfortable seating and tables spread out all over the areas. We went a little later than lunch hours so I can only imagine what a havoc it would have been during the peak time. All in all if you are just looking for something similar to home cooking, you can give it a try. But if you want to try something special and different it’s best to give this one a miss.
Rishikesh Deshmukh
Been here during Diwali. A very simple ambience with a very good taste.
The thali system included a mix of Maharashtrian and Punjabi food.
The restuarant has a self service system.
Menu included:
Soup, roti/nan/fulke, paneer butter masala, shev bhaji, jeera rice, dal tadka, taak, pithla bhakri, masale bhaat, shrikhanda, gulab jamun, salads, papad 😊 all of which was rightly cooked and had the perfect taste ♥
Sai Fulfagar
Best place for maharashtrian food . Proper authentic Maharashtrian ambiance. Serves you both maharashtrian and punjabi . They also servs you soups in starting. Only buffet system is available there .
Nitin
In simple terms it’s overpriced and overrated. Went there for Sunday buffet lunch which is priced at ₹360 AI for one person. Would add few bucks more and go for barbecue instead of this place.

Menu was like this : 3 punjabi main course (chole, paneer butter masala & daal tadka) 2 maharashtrian main course (pithla, patodi & patalbhaji) 2 rice (masala Bhat & jeera rice) one sweet (moong daal halwa). In rotis they had bhakri, naan, tandoori roti and Phulkas. Accomplishments: buttermilk, soup, bhaji and 4-5 types of pickle/chutnis.

Neither the maharashtrian food was authentic or spicy (you will get better taste at other maharashtrian food joints like Mathura) nor the punjabi food was outstanding. The crowd mainly comprised of families.

Ambience: 5/5
The ambience is quite friendly open and with some good space! Seating arrangement is good
As it is a buffay is too good , Free space is there ,

The ambience was showing exact Indian them and it was a good experience

Food: 5/5
As per the indian menu the food taste is as per the chefs experience such good flavoring
The way food is made in home it taste like the same!
The property name explains its speciality
Best family place experienced so far!

As a food blogger, I recommend this place. to everyone, whether you're going as a group, as a couple, best experience for family dinner

Meeting chef vishnu manohar Sir at that time was the best thing! 😎
We visited the place a couple of weeks back with a great hope of authentic Maharashtrian food and a good ambiance. However, it was a total disappointment. The food was no value for money at all. Almost a waste of money. Accomplishments were ok. But the main course dishes, sweets and rice recipes were far below average. The place seemed too crowdy and the menus were placed far away from the table. Will never recommend to anybody nor visit again myself.

A BIG NO NO. The staff is in-courteous/angry. First they do not allow you to enter without paying money. Surprisingly they keep asking for coupon every time you go to a counter. Keep a photo in your mobile if you go hungry. So everytime you need something you have to goto counter and take it. Mind it they provide a very small size plate. Senior citizens and kids will find it tough to move everytime you need a chatani/anything. Supposed to be a Maharashtrian food; but all things are very spicy think how the kids and seniors will like. Yes you have to pay extra for puran poli which is a small paratha dumped in ghee. The proportion is haywire more of puran. Tasteless. My kids aged 17 and 8 could not eat. We hopped to next restaurant to complete our lunch after giving 350 bucks per person. The besan prepared is thick. All in all not a good taste. There are no coolers around to keep you comfortable. There are more chatanis than bhajis. The only consolation is a small bullock cart for kids and statue of Maratha soldier. If you want to spent 350 bucks per person and roam around for food everytime go for it or spent 300 bucks in some good restaurant near by to enjoy your meal. All in all except for minor Maharshtrian aesthetic; please be ready to spend money on unauthentic, tasteless, spicy food that will not fill your belly. Are you ready to spend?

I have heard about this place from a very long time and I finally visited them 2 months ago. As soon as you enter you will get a Typical Maharashtrian Vibe. The place offers large space for seating as it doesn’t have any Back area for Kitchen. Everything from Thalipeeth to Soups are made on Live Counters placed randomly around so that people can View the entire place. The place is a start-up by Famous Chef Vishnu and has been serving hundred of customers daily. The place offers Unlimited Pure Veg. Maharashtrian food at very cheap price. The menu however may vary according to the day of visit. The place offers one of the best Puran Poli and Shrikhand that will definitely leave you in Awe!! 😋😋😋
Amazing place to visit with Family, Offers fast service(Self-service) and Lots of Options at Cheap cost. A Must visit place if you want to enjoy Traditional Maharashtrian food 😇

This was a long due visit , since this is TV celebrity chef's restaurant had a lot of expectations from the food.
About the restaurant it's quite a huge space inside , the menue is fixed thali. No a la carte but if you want there are swet dish as add on. Being vidarbha special we were expecting some memorable vada bhat and patvadya experience but little disappointed. It wasn't bad but may be the expectations were little high on taste.
The tomato soup was very sweet in taste and mudda bhaji was over so we couldn't taste it.
What we loved is Moog daal halwa, panchamrit, sadha waran bhat, pithla and tak. The interior has tried to give some old , rustic look. It's a self service restaurant so you can't expect any service.
Ambiance 3.5
Service.... Self service
Food ...

between 3 to 3.5

Had heard a lot of this place and wanted to give a try. Only Thali and self service (unlimited). Nice place for families and small functions. Pure vegetarian. Lot of chatnis and malasala’s to eat. Typical Brahmin Thali. Liked it. Though surrounding and atmosphere is clean, but place needs to be a little attractive. Overall good.👍

Simple is beautiful and this place is one of such places .... No fancy stuff but food is really good. Panchamrita and tamarin sauce with starters were die for. There was nothing I can complain about. A full meal after long time that is not at all heavy on stomach and pocket both :)

This place have a maharashtrian type of food.
You have to pay at the counter first as soon as you visit this place... unlimited food, buffet system, self service, no menucard , everydays menu is written on a white board beside the counter.
You can watch rotis, naans ,thalipith etc being prepared on the buffet counter.

I like the simplicity of the place.. there is no fancy food & the food taste is quite normal.
Food like Tomato soup, thalipith, moongdaal bhaji with chatni, various types of chatnis, salad, pickle, green red thecha, taak, kadhi, bhakris , chapati &naan available, 2 types of rice, & the vegetables keep changing
Ambience 4/5
Food 3.5/5
Service 4/5
Overall a good place.

Its a pure veg (Maharastra+Punjabi) buffet. Ambience is different than the others. Village theme. Food is tasty but self service makes it difficult to enjoy food as you have to walk though the entire place to get the food.
Ambiance : 3.5/5
Food : 3.5/5
Service : 4/5
Cost : moderate
This place offers a vegetarian maharashtrian buffet. A very nice concept and well executed by a well known chef. Vishnu manohar. The food here is not only tasty but also you get a vast variety ranging from different places from maharashtra. Must have here is puranpoli ... You can't eat anything else if you eat one puranpoli. Ensure you share it :p taste everything without fail

One of the best options available in the city for small get togethers with a great food! The quality of food is simply awesome and it is unlimited😉 You can eat as per your choice, appetite, speed and convenience. Prices are worth the food they are serving. Staff is polite and the service is good.

Ambience: Great open-air ambience, PLENTY of seating for your entire group, no matter how big it is. There is a separate play area for kids, a display of a traditional Indian kitchen at the entrance and some private-ish area with tables if you want to host a party.

Food: The menu had enough variety that you would fill up just tasting everything. However, the food was more homely (though tasty). Do not expect something super fancy.
The starters were these tiny wadas served with a super delicious chutney and vegetable soup. 10/10.
For the main course, we had almost way too many options. There was Punjabi and Maharashtrian cuisine. The punjabi menu was pretty basic, with chole bhature, a paneer sabzi and naan and dal tadka and jeera rice. 6/10
Maharashtrian menu: It was light, simple and authentic. you will be spoil for choice. They had puran poli, kadhi khichdi, and everything that comes in your regular Maharashtrian thali. 7/10
Chutneys and dessert: Their chutney counter was one of the most interesting things I’ve seen. I didn’t know there could be so many varieties of chutneys! For the dessert, we had moong dal halva and though I’m usually not fond of this halva, the one served here was AMAZING.
We were there on Sunday so it was almost at capacity and there were easily more than 250 people there so we had to form queues for the food, which was the only turn off in the whole experience. The food is a must try!
One of the best vegetarian thali joing in the city. I love the place for its simplicity and authentic taste. the decor with traditional indian kitchen as soon as u enter the place takes u back in time.. Ber ka achar and panchamrut are the highlights. the various accompaniments makes the thali special. Poran poli is separate and you have to pay extra. mung dal halwa is the most delicious item there. Overall a satisfactory experience.
Neha Bachuwar
A place where you can taste authentic maharashtrian food.
Its a pretty huge restaurant with decor of village life of Maharashtra. Copper utensils, ancient stone utensils. Its quiet interesting to watch all the decor.
As you enter there will be a person who can introduce you to their concept.
So you start your food with soup and a starter. When I visited there they were serving tomato soup which was good with a tangy Ness of tomatoes balanced with sugar and papper.
Next Mini batata wada was served with tamarind chutney. It was good.
The other snack they served was dhirde, combination of chickpea flour, mirchi, coriander and other spices. Tasted good.
Main course,
Different varieties of chutnies, thesa etc
Til chutney
Peanut chutney
Coconut chutney
Flex chutney
Hirwa thesa
Lal thesa
Bora
Fried garlic
You can take whichever u like, personally I liked fried garlic, Hirwa thesa and coconut chutney
In veg they had patwadi rassa. Its a speciality of vidarbha and tasted OK ok.
Baingan bharta was very good.
Vada bhaat was a bit on a dry side but with kadhi it tasted fine.
Bhakari, fulka and puranpoli (with extra charge) was available.
Taak (buttermilk) was calming element they provided. It always good
In punjabi main course,
Mutter panner was more on a sweeter side.
Crispy aloo was definitely a must try
Even the jeera rice and dal tadka was good.
Tandoori roti, naan available
The only disappointed was moong dal halwa.

Overall a very good experience and all the generations will definitely enjoy here.
Nice place indeed! We, a group of 8 with two kids went to celebrate birthday for dinner. They have a huge dining area and an exhausted menu too! I was kind of unhappy with sweet dish as it was just a sheera and I expected something better for a buffet menu. Nevermind, other delicacies were very nice and worth the penny.

Enjoy your lunch and dinner with kit and kin on an excellent and easy to reach location. The place is given a touch of ethnic village and they serve you maharastrian and North Indian vegetarian food. My preference is always maharastrian here
..

yesterday was the third time i did visit this place ,but total disappointed me .my first was office party ,secondly i took my parents as i liked the food but the third time was completely disappointing
i found a fly in my soup of starter i complained this to the manager i received a sorry from his side , then i could see house flies buzzing around the sweet booras ,then again i cud find hair in the kadhi . .The gravvy of chole and paat wadi rasaa was similar ,due to this experience has completely made up my mind not to visit it again .

Food is strictly average, nothing attractive about it.
The staff is just not attentive to the customer's needs.
Never visiting this place again.

It is perfect place to satisfy 'ghar ka khana' wali craving. Vishnu ji ki Rasoi is located at DP road next to Reddy's.
They charge ₹370(including taxes) for dinner. You have to pay first and then one of their crew will explain you the whole layout and assign you a table. Then you are on your own. There is a self service system. They have a huge sitting place. Not at all congested. Visited this place thrice but trust me I have got no regrets being here. The food they offer is simply delicious. Offers a lot of varieties including both Maharashtrian and north Indian cuisine. Also they serve unlimited starters. Thalipeet, roti, bhakri, kadhi, taak, papad, tup, varieties of chutney, starters, jeera rice, masala bhaat, aamras, soup, bhaji, dal tadka, two north indian sabji,2-3 maharashtrian bhaji and more is all what they have got on their menu. This place is kinda family type but if you have those cravings then must visit.

Service/staff-4.5/5
Price-4/5
Ambience-2/5
Taste-5/5

Before anyone reads my review, note:
- This is a buffet ONLY and SELF SERVICE restaurant.
- You have to "Surrender" your plates, before you move out.
- Rs. 370/- pp, Rs. 210/- (children betn 5-8yrs)
- Road side parking.
- Restroom available.
- Okayish furniture / seating.

Been here with my family this evening. I ll try to organize the review in sections.

Parking:
Where is the parking? I dropped my family at the entrance and had to go miles away to find one parking spot (that too on a work in progress cement road). The 'security' at the entrance, just points you to the road ahead. How helpful! I noticed, finding the two wheeler parking space entry is almost impossible.

Counter:
The folks were busy taking orders over the phone and ignorant to the walk in customers. Asked us to wait until he finishes talking with the other staff. Hospitality missing. Paid the amount and got in ( the trap), looking at the huge list of unlimited food menu.

The restaurant area:
Apparently split into two sections. We got into the veg buffet section and we were briefed by the manager about how the section is organised. The area is pretty big.
I think it is mostly used for get togethers.
So what they have is:
Starters area, thalipeeth area, main course - Maharashtrian and Punjabi food area, dining area, plate counter, Restroom area.

The food:
Starters -
My family was excited about the starters and went to the counter. Anti climax hit them. Starters were: some soup served in metal cups used at tea stalls and 'onion' pakoda - served in smallest leaf bowls ever.
Soup counter is hidden in a corner like a treasure!

Main course:
Few of us, went ahead to the plate counter where we were asked to produce the 'bill' / coupon. The person looked at the pax count and handed over the plates for all of my family. WTH. When asked why can't the plates be where they are and my family members can take them only when they want to move to main course. Arrogant chap insisted to keep the plates on our table. We ignored and went ahead since we were already 'trapped'.
The counters are kilometers away and you have to walk all the way, everytime. (You will walk up just to ensure your 370/- you paid feel worth it.) The curry bowls are too small.
The food quality is ok/eatable. (Payari) Amras was good and the Kulcha too.

To conclude:
- Most of the people (like me), will visit the place 'once' irrespective of the good/not so good reviews. And will curse themselves, for not listening to the reviewers.
Owners will be in business, because of such one time walk in customers.
- If you are a group of friends, you might not notice such things. And might recommend the restaurant to others and also visit again.
- If you just believe in gulping the food and in huge amounts irrespective of the quality, THIS is the place for you.
- This place is not for the people who have seen better restaurants (and food) in Pune and/or anywhere else.

- Recommendation: Hire a cab, go to any other restaurants like Janaseva, Duravankur, Asha Dining, Bhagatchand Tarachand, Sukanta, Shabree - FC road, Badshaahi boarding - it will still make "you feel better" and worth it.

Nice place and politeness of staff was appreciable.👏
They guide us well in advance by asking us that are we visiting this place for the first time and accordingly they helped us to know all the arrangement like Punjabi Menu Section, Maharashtrian Menu.
Also I loved the starters-Garama garam Pakode and Soup.. Yummy..😋😋
Also Aamras(Mango)😍😍😍 was delicious and tasty. All other food items was with great quality and tastes.
Overall...Better Experience with friends and family..😃

Vishnuji Ki Rasoi is owned by well know chef Mr. Vishnu and is a buffet place with a variety of typical Maharashtrian food spread. The place has a very homely vibe, If you want to eat a typical Maharashtrian food then you should definitely visit this place, Even though they do have some Punjabi food on their buffet but it is quite average in taste compare to their Maharashtrian food. Since it is a Mango season, they were serving aamras and to my surprise, it was good, usually in restaurants they don't serve unlimited Aamras. The place is good for family gathering and big groups. Value for money.

What I loved most about this restaurant is its unique arrangement of food stalls & seating. It makes for a pretty different ambience altogether. And to talk about the food, it is just so irresistable! Esp. the daal, variety of subji's and the typical Maharashtrian sweets such as Puran poli & Aam ras...oh I just can't wait to go back there and dig my teeth into the thaali again!
And don't forget to top it up with 2-3 glasses of yummy buttermilk & a self-made paan! It's sure gonna end your meal on a high!

Managers there are not co-operative at all. We did booking for 25 people but the managers there were not co-operative in arranging the tables like we were requesting to. We ourselves had to arrange the tables. Also the thali is not worth at all, 370/- on weekends is very expensive and the food is not at all tasty. So to conclude, I won't be going to this hotel again and spend my money on this thali.

Visited this place with family and friends. Big group of 25+
Takes some time to understand the layout. The sitting capacity is very high. They serve veg meals unlimited. Buffet with the counters spread around. Food is simple and homely. Tastes like what you will get in a country side dhaba.

Not suitable for a party or any celebration but ok for a family get together where food is not important.
Will not visit again.

Very good service, decent food, great variety. Great place for a family outing. Parents and in-laws loved the place. It doesn’t feel like a traditional restaurant, great for people with social anxiety. Would recommend for people looking for something different.

been there for 2 to 3 times. the concept is novel and good.
the food is not bad but ok. out of the huge menu offered, only a few items can be enjoyed.
the one disgusting thing i noticed was that the drinking glasses were placed up side down on the serving table where the food is littered while eating.once the guest leave, the table is wiped with the same dirty cloth and the glasses are placed back. even the road side dhabas use a tray for placing glasses. even after complaining this to the manager (may be Sourabh but not sure) in my last visit 4-5 months back, the glasses were placed in the same manner a couple of weeks ago. these people seem to have failed to understand the basic hygiene practice. i wonder what must be they doing in the kitchen.
