Priya restaurant is located right on MG road and is famous among old citizens of Pune because it is quite old and one of the famous among south indian food joints. It is in my go to go list for south indian food :)
Superb food. Natural ambience. One of the few independent restaurants worth going to.
Priya is renowned for serving authentic south indian breakfast with use of freshly procured local produce, prepared using traditional recipes to bring lip smacking and delectable dishes on their menu. The innovative quotient being an integral part of their dishes, they have managed to tickle my taste buds every time i have visited them.
The Butter Idli had soft fluffy idlis dipped in butter, sprinkled with generous amounts of south indian sambhar and served in a bed of coconut chutney. The Butter Idlis were simple and delectable. The Special Cheese papaer masala Dosa is my favourite here, with crispy dosa smeared with special masala served alongside mildly spicy bombay chutney and regular coconut chutney
makes you feel home. We ended the meal with the Special Chocolate Shake which had nutella smeared inside the milk ,loaded with crushed dry fruits.

This is the Go-To place for us, when in Camp and we are craving for some good food. This place serves authentic South Indian fast food since decades. Few of the must have dishes include Onion Uttappa, Cheese Onion Tomato Uttappa, Mysore Masala Dosa, Medu Vada, Veg Cutlet. Yeh nahi khaya toh kya khaya? They also serve fresh juice. This is my favourite go-to place when I want to have some great South Indian food! Well, I love to have a blessed breakfast and what can be better than some amazing big soft dipped idlis?! You should also try their beetroot cutlet!!

Old is gold. And the south indian food here is just mouth watering. The sambhar, beetroot cutlet, batata vada sambhar and idli sambhar are a few things I have had here over the last 20 years. Just love this place .

I am regularly going to Priya for at least 9 years now. They have recently renovated this place. The staff is pretty welcoming, and the seating is decent like a typical Udipi set up. Priya is best known for South Indian Breakfast. Idli-Wada dip is a weekly ritual here, followed by Uttapa (they serve Jain upon request along with specially made chatni and sambar to cater Jain community customers). The best part is that they are one of the very few places in Pune who still serve authentic South Indian Filter Coffee. Once you are done the staff will try to shoo you away as they have humungous waiting queue in morning. They also have a separate family seating upstairs which is more peaceful as compared to the regular seating. The service is super quick, food is lip-smacking and definitely value for money!

Visited for breakfast today, this has been one of my most visited restaurant in Pune. They have average decor but are exceptional with south Indian cuisine. I have tried almost everything on the menu. My recommendation is Veg Cutlet and Idli Sambar. Service is super quick with courteous staff. Must visit. High Five!!!

Very affordable family restaurant serving south indians food mainly. Their sambar was very well known before though it seems like the taste has changed nd isn't like before. But it is still a very famous place ppl visit for having south Indian food.
When it comes to affordable and yummy South Indian food, head over to Priya. I ordered a special plain Dosa and filter coffee which costed me around Rs.105/- only. Also, the Dosa was extremely buttery and crispy just the way I like it. The filter coffee was not too sweet like other places and was perfect to sip on.
Service is prompt and food is brought to the table rather quickly. Now if you are okay with a smaller restaurant and don't care much for the ambience then Priya could be your go to restaurant while shopping on MG road.

A nice old place to refresh back ones memories.... The Sada Dosa, Utthapa with makkhan, and many more,, a very old and warm place for snacks and south Indian dishes... The famous myth that the taste of Sambar has not changed since last 40 years and more... Really one should go....
There are instances where a lot of memories come back to you and at times you even feel overwhelmed. The same thing happened today morning... We both had been working late on Saturday and did not get time to have dinner. Once you are home there are moments when we both look at each other and ask ... " So who's cooking ???". Answer - nobody! Just have a glass of milk and off to bed. So the next day... You wake up hungry like anything.
Sunday morning ... Off we are to Priya for breakfast. Ordered for a tomato onion uttapa along with a masala dosa. These came to the table in about 10 min from the time the order was placed. This was followed by idlis and medu wada. Good hearty breakfast. With every morsel I had memories of me coming to Priya with my parents came back to me. Lot of good memories associated with this place. Felt very happy!

Well generally I visit this place for just the one item. The cutlet. It's a beetroot cutlet. On the sweeter side but it's one a kind and one the best I have had. The tea is also good here. Drop in for a quick evening snack whenever in the area.

Mysore masala dosa - It was really nice. The masala has many dry fruits in it. Sambar and chutney were also tasty.
Dahi wada : The dahi was perfectly sweetened. It wasn't sour at all, which is best. The wada was big and soft.
Ambience : It is not very posh or something, but overall it good
Service : It's really good. The waiter don't write your order but memorises it and serves perfectly.

This place serves a hell lot of varieties of dosas.
But considering me, i am a huge fan of plain dosa.

I also tried veg pulav once. It is a typical Maharashtrian styled pulav with lots of red chilli powder and spices in it. It was tasty but too spicy for me. (I prefer bland food)

Wanted to write something for this place since a long time, that South Indian essence is still the same. My love for its special masala dosa never changed. Sambar and Chutney, the way it was.. truly amazing. A place to find some South Indian treasure in Pune, is surely this one.
Veg. cutlets have never been so good, so good that the last chutney can mind its own business. Well of course the potato wada (batata wada) is the twin when it comes to volume, quality & taste.

You're in Pune, you got to try Priya. Centrally located, a day/evening spent shopping can comfortably end with some great Udipi food. The menu has stayed the same over the years and the food too. Quick service and great to taste.

Priya... as the name signifies the food at this place is quite awesome. Simple and tradition old style ambiance of a south indian restaurant. During peak hours one can find it difficult to get a table. But its worth waiting for a while to taste the food.
Ordered medu wada, cheese special uttapa and filtered coffee all these have their own unique taste. Wada was soft and after its totally dipped in sambar the taste just fot double. The cheese on the uttapa was bit different felt as they prepare it by there own. Coffee as great.
On my next visit will try my hands on sandwich and dosa.
A good place for a good south indian snack. Friendly staff.. clean place... Simple ambience... People moving in and out all the time... But no compromise on food quality. The Menu warns not to sit for long if you have no work... So make sure you are binging.. 😀
I always keep ordering food from Priya because my office is nearby. This one time I decided to go for lunch at Priya with my colleague. We ordered for idli, upma and two bowls of dahi vada. Upma was average and the idli was lovely. The dahi vada was extremely heavenly. The uncle at the reception is also very sweet. It was crowded well evidently.
Most of the people don't know about Priya, probably because they are not localities in Pune. Even if you don't like South Indian dishes, I would suggest that you visit Priya. I've been to Andhra / Tamil Nadu / Karnataka / Kerala but no one out there makes the dosa, uthapa, idli, wada sambar better than the taste of Priya. My favorite is the cutlet and dahi wada. Must visit for all in Pune!

Certainly the oldest joint on mg road. Being with a simple menu yet serving the best quality of food. No doubt my childhood was with priya. And staff is so excellent. Very humble with customer.
I'll share a incident, "I orderd onion uttapa but I got very less onion in it, being a genuine customer since 15 years I said them this is the first time there is little problem with the food(I did not complaint it) and they said sorry fir it with a smile. And when he gave me the bill he didn't took charge of the food. So wonderful they are.

It's an old world restaurant where food is the king. Nothing to boast of the sitting arrangement but the space is kept near and clean. They serve one of the best South Indian breakfast in Pune. Medu wada sambhar is huge and very tasty.

My mother and I were both born in Camp 22 years apart and interestingly my mother's name is Priya. We have been visiting this place since ages. It's good. I love their simple menu. They don't exaggerate their food recipes and it's kinda still tastes same. If you're craving South Indian in Camp give it a go!

Second demanding dish one should go for Cheese Tomato Onion butter spcl utappa. You get the Best south indian sambhar and coconut chutney. Load of cheese grated on the Dosa/ Utappa. If you wish u need Loni, they will add extra Loni spoon.

Staff members are fast and serves quickly. Never got disappointed in my recent few visits.
All the safet measures are taken properly. Clean plates and glasses. Spoons are washed, dried and kept aside on each table.
