It was awesome and a really good experience with food and all. We ordered masala papad as a starter which is basically like everybody ordered that. I can't believe I'm saying that but that was the most amazing masala papad I ever tasted. The shev was very rich and a lot. I happened to like बारीक शेव so that was happiness for me. Then we ordered Kaju paneer masala, roti and dal khichadi as main course. Kaju paneer masala was very delicious. I thought, it would be less spicy and somehow sweet but that wasn't the case it was spicy not a lot spicy. Loved it. Roti was made by mix maida and wheat so it was soft it was plain tandoor roti and it was still soft. Dal khichadi was absolutely delicious. There was तूप on top of that. And it tasted more good with आंब्याच लोणचं yeah they give you with onion and lemon. It was just wow. Kaju paneer masala and dal khichadi was enough for 3 people For dessert we ordered lassi which was very sweet. I'm not that much of a sweet tooth. Service is a little slow but that's okay.

It's one of the best vegetarian restaurants I have come across. All menu is vegetarian. Clean Fast service Freshly prepared Hygiene is maintained Co-operative staff Taste is good... I have tried a variety of dishes whenever I visit Gandharv. My personal likes in snacks are Idly Sambhar and Chutney, Tomato Omelet, Masala Dosa And in lunch and dinner, all items are good.

Hotel Gandharva, in the name of Bal Gandharva Rangmandir. Pretty old hotel off Jungli Maharaj road. Exactly opposite to Bal Gandharva rangmandir. Obviously in a prime area. Famous for snacks and tea. Service was good. Though I went at the rush hours time on Sunday evening the waiters were very courteous. Food was also good but not great. Taste and quality standards are maintained. Being in the prime area, vehicle parking is a big challenge. Two wheelers can be adjusted by parking on the limited space and sometimes on footpaths. But four wheeler parking is a real challenge. Overall experience was good.

Gandharv Hotel is a great place to have a quick bite. It serves tasty food at moderate prices. The service is good and you will have to typically not wait for much time for your food to be served. I would recommend you to try for Pav Bhaji, South Indian dishes and coffee. But thali is awesome. Just in your pocket, no spicy.

Mmm! Tongue melting foods. They provide both North and South Indian dishes at moderate price. The restaurant is clean and well maintained but little bit crowdy. You can have your meal at ac chamber without any extra charge. A very good place for family gathering and spend good time with your special one.

Need to have temperature controlled air conditioning. It became freezing cold after the first half. The canteen only had samosa and tea. They should have a little more food and drink options. This feedback is for improvement. This place will always have a special place for every Punekar.

The one thing about this place that needs to be noted is the fact that it is always crowded. We ordered here Veg Biryani along with Masala Papad. The rice tasted pretty good however Paneer Butter Masala was awesome and have nice taste and texture to it.

Loved the food there... We ordered Cheese Onion Uttappa and Udid Wada Sambar. Then we got some Tea 1/2.. Both the images are posted on Google Before the review.. The restaurant is nice, cozy and clean.. The cleaners clean the tables and floor more oftenly.. The cashier is very good and friendly. The one thing about this place that needs to be noted is the fact that it is always crowded. We ordered here schezwan rice along with paneer crispy. <br/><br/>The rice tasted pretty good however paneer chilly would have been a great option instead of paneer crispy, the paneer crispy tasted rather sweet and sour.

Have ordered veg crispy and paneer butter masala with rotis. As the hotel was crowded the service speed was quite quick.. but the food we received was bland and cold.. crispy was soft oily and tasteless... And the paneer gravy same bland and cold..

There's a lot of variety in jain food because many dishes are available in jain version. Also, they suggested a dish and we didn't like it much so they didn't charge anything for it. (I never had such experience especially in Pune :p)

Went there on a week day for quick snacks , ordered for masala dosa & Punjabi thali. The service is not slow as manpower is less as per restaurant set up. It's very hard to get some ones attention & water on table . Dosa was good , but the sambar was sweet. The Punjabi Thai was not upto the mark at all. Almost all the vegetable was tasting same & same gravy was used .

Went for breakfast at this place on 27 Jan 2019 at around 8 am. The restaurant was just opened. The food took some time to deliver but the wait was worth it. Paper dosa was huge and idli wada sambar was perfect. The only problem was the dosa and chutney was very sweet. I had been here in the evening. Ordered Tomato Omelette and Veg Biryani.<br/><br/>. The tomato omelette was prepared using uttapa batter with turmeric to give yellow shade. It smelled dosa batter and not a besan batter.<br/>. Extra star given for the coconut chutney.<br/>. We requested for finger bowl after consuming Biryani. They were taking ages to provide one. One of the best places to go for authentic Indian food! I love the flavors at Viceroy and the staff is really friendly and helpful. Being Indian, I like the fact that the food is absolutely authentic and healthy (not submerged in loads and loads of oil like other places). You won't be disappointed, your stomach will be happy and your wallet won't be completely empty. Now this is my favorite indian restaurant. Gandharv Restaurant's food is definitely the most enjoyable and flavorable. Try the the viceroy special biryani and butter chicken. You will want to keep coming back for more. It also looks like they did a little remodeling. Looks very nice.We've tried most of the restaurants but eventually come up with this as I found Great service. I visited this place along with my friends and family. The restaurant looked very dull and the staff always appeared to be busy. The only saviour was the food. Starting from the appetizers to the main course and even the desserts, everything tasted great.

Worst service i have ever seen. Went out for a qick bite... Ordered 'batatawada' and came really quick as the wada's were ice cold, asked the captain to replace it. The captain just reheated the thing in a microwave and again served it cold... This time with hit crust.... Upon complaining the captain gave a rude look and answered this is the way we serve to every one we only prepair this dish once and not again and again on order......very arrogant ppl unprofessional and complete idiots.... Suggestion not to visit this place

I have been visiting this restaurant since 2002.  A nice place of pure vegetarian food. Their idli, dosai and medu vadai are good. North Indian curries and breads are good. Veg Tawa masala is the best among curries, while veg biryani is the best among rice preparations. Chilli paneer, gobi manchurian and tomato soup are delicious too. Ambience is okay and cleanliness is acceptable.  The A/C section on the first floor has better interiors.  Their fixed menu "thali" is wholesome.  Prices are on the lower side.  I recommend this place to veg food lovers.

My all time favourite place to have breakfast. Visiting this place since my childhood and i must say they have maintained the quality and taste. My favourite dish being Veg. Cutlet. Definitely worth trying.

We went to the place numerous times for BDay Bash, team lunch. The place serves good food with good price, the quantity is also good. Taste is appreciative. Service was awesome, they tried their best as we were a group of around 25. Well managed space and can accommodate a group of 40 people easily. Can try if you reside/ have office nearby.

As unimpressed as I was by the description on the menu card, the food was much worse. The SPDP was poor in taste as well as presentation. The sambar and chutney accompanying the dosa were bland. The hot and sour soup and masala paav were mediocre. For a hotel with such high reputation it failed to impress.

This one's a generic veg restaurant.<br/>The medu vadas are humongous. Triple rice+noodle is good, so is dosa.<br/>Service is quick enough. A safe bet if you don't expect much.

This place is our family restaurant!! I've been having food here since I was a child. The quality has been consistent over the years. The prices being always in budget even for a large party. I've had almost tried everything on the menu. I'd suggest their rava dosa for snacks. All paneer sabji and pulav for main course. I like their American chopsey too.

Such a nice place to eat lots of food in min bill . The place is lil conjugated but it's really nice and good quality and quantity is the best.

Another typical Udupi Style Restaurant.<br/>The food is good. The ambience is good. The location is also good.<br/>Be aware of flies, as you might find plenty of them over here.<br/>Sambar and Chutney served with South Indian dishes are yummy. And, unlike other Udupi Restaurants, they serve 3 Steamed Idli’s instead of 2.<br/>The Palak Masala Dosa and Medu Wada are equally good.<br/>You shall get a very quick service at any point of time.

I'll start with the pros first. <br/>I've been here twice and both the times was satisfied about the good quality and quantity of the food delivered. Do consider visiting Gandharv Restaurant located right opposite the well know Balgandharv Rangmandir. However, Beware of the bizzare Service from waiters here which unfortunately ruins the experience.<br/> Parking problems are common in Pune. I'm sure everyone will be quite familiar with this fact. The Ambiance is pretty impressive and is very well decorated with decent lighting and photo frames.<br/> The sitting area is a bit congested. You'll actually have to duck while walking on the upper floor which houses the AC rooms. The restaurant is always crowded. One may observe variety of crowd with Students hanging out in groups, Ladies going on with their Kitty Parties, Corporate looking people having meetings over the meal here. I personally prefer the AC rooms whenever I visit.<br/> The food here is inexpensive. There are lot of breakfast and meal options along with Chinese cuisines. It takes something around 13-15 minutes for the food to arrive on a busy hours of the day. The Waiters, I don't know why, are very rude. Especially in the AC rooms, They look at you as if they are doing a favour on you by serving you. Now the table we occupied was too close to their service table where they keep their dishes and stuff. Suddenly the waiter pushed my chair aside rudely even when it was occupied by me. Now being a self composed person as I am, I decided to ignore this behavior. I'm sure that the waiter had a huge argument with his wife back home for we had to call him atleast 3-4 times before getting his attention and yet he gave that stern look. God knows what was wrong with him🙄<br/> The food is good here not at all mouth watering. I've tried a few dishes here. Paneer Mumtaj was delicious which cought my attention. If I am to recommend one dish here, It has to be Paneer Mumtaj. Panner seemed to be fresh and well cooked. Overall, You need not worry about the quality of food here. I had been to this place earlier and thought of going to this place again while I was passing through it.<br/>The first thing I ordered here was masala papad which was my favorite when I went the last time. <br/>I thought of ordering something different this time. So I ordered pizza. I asked him what will veg pizza contain, he said it'll have capsicum and onion. But when it finally came, it had chillies with no capsicum and it was topped with tuty fruty and cherries! When complained about this, the waiters we're very sarcastic about the whole scene like I just was making excuses to not have the pizza.<br/>Then I ordered gandharv special masala dosa instead of pizza. This again had dry fruits like raisins that made it sweet. To top it all, when the bill came, they added one extra item which we didn't even have. We again had to complain about it. Overall it was a very sad experience and I would not prefer going there again.

The place is not too huge and not too small, it is OK in size.. The food was good especially the pav bhaji.. The only thing because of which I rated 3 is, I found the service very slow and improvement they should make in future.

Since my college days, have been visiting this place. Never actually liked it because of its dingy, dark den like appearance. But now they have renovated and it seems little bright and airy. Food taste and service as usual remain below average. Most interesting thing was their menu card which was full of hilarious grammatical errors (or may be done purposely to attract attention). But words like, buttar, pease, muttar, rasian, hara "bara", made my day.

Gandharv is a really good place for having South Indian breakfast. There is lot of variety and the South Indian food is good for the price. Also this place serves North Indian dishes which are also descent. It's a good old choice of family restaurant. The service is super quick even in rush hours. Worst staff. No manners. This is related to a parking issue, in front of Gandharv hotel, we parked our bike on roadside parking. That time the gandharv security (some bihari with full tobacco in month) ran towards us(me n my wife) asking kaha jana hai. I said why? He said don't park here. And started shit verbal communication. I complained about this to Gandharv's manager he also supported him saying it's our parking, we have purchased it. I wondered n asked him how corporations public road parking can be bought by you. Then he indirectly said we give money to traffic police (hafta) so it's ours. They started creating seen. This is horrible and how someone can do dadagiri like this. We still parked bike there only. But it was a pathetic experience spoiling whole time. <br/>Kindly think before going to such hotel. No hospitality, Deserves 0 star.

Most convinient restaurant with central location. This is like any other JM road restaurant. Parking might be prob but options are available. My fav here has always been sabudana wada but have tried many things southern dishes as well. Just as any other place in that area its good ol typical one.

I went here for dinner today. We ordered Paneer 65 and Veg Biryani. The Paneer 65 was good but the Veg Biryani was a bit sour in taste. Also, the service here sucks. I had some Biryani left over so I asked them to pack it for me. Nobody packed it. It was lying on the counter right behind me for 15 mins. (WTH?) Also For me Sauf at the end of the meal is as important as the meal. It makes the meal complete. But I never got any. All the other families who were sitting on the tables around us did. I mean what is this? Totally bumped! Service sucks, food okay! <br/>

It was long day after shopping that we decided to choose this restaurant for a quick bite before we could head home. The restaurant has a decent ambience and a perfect location that’s easily visible. Premium food and ambience at affordable prices and no hidden charges i.e., prices listed in the menu are inclusive of all taxes. A complete family restaurant better than others in this area; Crowded but peaceful, no traffic or parking problem outside & no congested seating inside. A well-managed restaurant with good food to enjoy with your loved ones, we ordered Masala Dosa, OT Uthappa, Pav bhaaji & Masala Paav. Personally, I loved the Masala Paav & the way it was made. The excessive bhaaji over the top of the paav with the extra load of butter melting is surely a different way of the making of the dish but it was the best dish I ordered. Overall, it’s a scrumptious meal eating place if you’re looking for some good vegetarian food.

I ordered only thali and It wasn't a nice experience with it. The roti, sabji everything in the plate wasn't good. The sweet on the plate was a big joke they literally gave us a sweet dal and it was tasteless. Overall I didn't had a good experience there.

Its a pure veg hotel situated in the core area of pune.<br/>Its one of the best restaurant in shivajinagar.<br/>Food is really delicious. The ambience is typical what a veg restaurant has.<br/>It has variety of food like north indian, south indian as well as chinese.<br/>Overall good

Visited here for dinner during my trip to pune..<br/>There is 2 section of seating non ac and ac area .. there are some open area also for seating which i guess open only in night..<br/>Had order paneer masala and nutter naan..<br/>Size of butter naan was very big.. panner masala was average ..

Good food.<br/>Stomach filling Thalis to Awesome South Indian food.<br/>Punjabi cuisine is well prepared.<br/>And like a cherry on top the service is awesome

Very good family restaurant.. offers wide variety of vegetarian dishes. Tried the veg jalfrezi and it was good. However the rotis were a little hard..if you're visiting on sunday make sure you reach as early as 7 or reserve tables it gets crowded. Overall good place, good service, reasonably priced and good food :)

This restaurant is always crowded.. And I have seen it like that since many many years...<br/><br/>Ambience is not really their forte.. Seating arrangement is a bit congested..<br/>And if u happen to visit their section upstairs on a hot, sunny afternoon, be prepared to get drenched in sweat as ventilation is not good and 1 fan is kept between 4 tables.. They've got to do something about it..<br/><br/>Coming to food -- it is pocket-friendly and tasty.. My Masālā Dosā had some 'sajuk tup' (साजूक तूप) on it which very few udipi restaurants put on the Dosā.. :-)<br/>Tea was not very great.. :-|<br/><br/>Frequented by office-goers and collegians alike.. Family restaurant..

This place is really good. Pocket budget restaurant. I have been visiting this place from last 8 years and best part is nothing has changed. Food quality , quantity , service everything is good. My mom is always ready to visit this place.

Service was very poor... V were waiting more then half an hour for order to receive.. and the order which was placed v didn't received that.. <br/>Guys think 10times before visiting..

Located on the bustling J.M road, opposite Bal Gandharava Rangmandir, this place is one my favourites for South Indian food. I've been coming here since many years and the quality and the service have remained unchanged. The ambience is nice and one can either sit outside looking at busy road or inside in the dining area. A life size painting of famous musicians and singers adorns one of the walls inside. This place is always crowded especially in the evenings. Amongst the South Indian specialties, Onion Uttappa, Rava Masala dosa and  Medu Wada are the best. The Pav Bhaji is also great. The filter coffee served here is highly recommended and one must have it after any meal. The portion sizes are good. The service is fast and this place is great for all breakfast, lunch and dinner. Parking can be an issue  as they do not have a dedicated parking space. Still, go ahead and visit this place for awesome South Indian food and Filter Coffee!

Quantity of food is very good and service is decent too. Taste was fine and we had a nice dinner.,..........................................

One of the many meeting places to have cafe, tea & something to munch on with conversation.. This place is no other & we had ordered usual south Indian dishes.. Paper dosa is 4 feet tall & it's a mammoth task to finish it.. along with it we had ordered rava masala dosa and pav bhaji.. service is fast and food is decent. To finish we filter coffee which was brewed hot.. This place is pretty famous and you can expect waiting time on weekends..

I was visited this plase on 7 October, with my friends for celebrat my birthday, and we eat paneer chingari and roti, with cold drinks.<br/>Paneer chingari tast is very good and quantity is valu for money.<br/>service is good.and seating is comfortable.<br/>I will visit again this place with my family.<br/>GOOD TAST & SPECIALLY SERVICE.🎶😅

Well if you love vegetarian do visit gandharv although i am a non vegetarian so i mostly visit this place for breakfast when i stay near deccan area they ample area for parking ,good ambience and the poori-baaji and chai was too good!!

Located just opposite Bal Gandharv theater, this place serves excellent North Indian food.We had ordered the Jain version of Baby corn kadai, Dal,Paneer Butter Masala and all of them tasted pretty good. The butter naan had butter dripping from it ! The service is ultra fast and the quantities good too.<br/>My rating:<br/>Food - 4/5<br/>Ambiance - 3/5<br/>Value for money - 4/5

I remember having laughed for 5 mins straight when I heard my cousin suggesting me the dish Chilly-Milly (that was the first time I had heard of that dish and according to my cousin they serve good Chilly-Milly). I have visited this place quite some times. The waiting time on Holidays is a lot. Also there parking is an issue here because the restaurant doesn't have any dedicated parking space. The food is pretty good though. So you can definitely go and have a satisfactory lunch or dinner here.

Been here for today lunch its good typically udupi Restuarent.<br/>Service seems bit slow we can assume there must be staff problem as some of the staff seems new and wasn't having any experience of service so the service it is 3/5 .<br/>come to food we had ordered there deluxe thali which cost 140 per head pretty decent thali the content was paneer mutter , rassam ,one more gravy veg , one green veg , dal , rice ,curd , kheer , papad and tw upo tandoori roti . and tomato soup before starting your meal which was have fair taste of tomato soup quantity is fair enough for a person u cant have anything beyond that .<br/>quality wise it okey u cant expect more than this in this much of price overall it was good experience if u are in hurry and search for something near balgandharv u can give a try . food its 4/5<br/>and the puneri pati ..dont engage the table without reason 😀😀😀<br/>

I have never been fond of this place but thought of giving it a try with family! A decent looking restaurant which I know is quite old and is listed in few of top favorites for Punekars. The food quality is good and the seating is also appropriate. However, improvement is required in terms of service and cleanliness. Definitely a pocket friendly one!

This place is one of the best places for vegetarian food in this area ... JM road is  filled with all the Vegetarian restaurants but this one is my favourite..... It is always packed and the quality is not compromised .... Light on pockets too....

I have just visited gandharva restaurant, exp is not so good. tomato soup was very sweet & no flavour of tomato. Ordered pavbhaji later. Bread size was too small. You can finish 1 pair of bread in 4-5 bites...bhaji quantity is very less. Taste was OK. Lastly they will serve LEHER Pepsi instead of PepsiCo's Pepsi...

I am not very fond of vegetarian food. But after eating their food now i am in love with vegetarian food. We had ordered crispy vegetables,butter naan,rice and paneer and mushroom gravy(which was made on our special request) as we craved for both paneer and mushroom. So the waiter made that available to us. Service was very prompt. Ambience was nice. Food-5

Kind of Okay-ish food. Onion uttappa was decent but sambar a bit sweet. Coconut chutney was again okay. If you ask for a cold coffee, please make sure you ask them to not put ice in it because they tend to put in a lot of it. Service was quick but the food was not even warm.

Crowded Place, Descent food, Good to better service this is how I can describe this place. It has limited parking space .. atleast for 4 wheeler. This place is usually crowded because of the quality of the food that they have maintained. Though not that great in terms of taste, but majority of the dishes are happy on pockets. Whenever I came to this place, this place has never disappointed me. So would say .. keep the good work up. Try to improve more on service part.
