Good place for pure veg people.. Quite good and silent place.. Place restaurant to have a family dinner or lunch.. Good ambiance and not so expensive.. Friendly staff and also very attentive..
The one thing about this place that needs to be noted is the fact that it is always crowded. We ordered here schezwan rice along with paneer crispy.
The rice tasted pretty good however paneer chilly would have been a great option instead of paneer crispy, the paneer crispy tasted rather sweet and sour.
There's a lot of variety in jain food because many dishes are available in jain version. Also, they suggested a dish and we didn't like it much so they didn't charge anything for it. (I never had such experience especially in Pune :p)
Whoa, they exactly know what their customer want.
They are located dead-on bal gandharv Chowk, so they know people here have not come for a cozy dinner.
They know people want quick good, and they are 10/10 on that.
Quite a large list of menu items, mix of snacks, heavy snacks and proper meal.
Decent rate, sufficient quantity, super fast service, to the point serving staff, delicious tasty dishes, reachable accessible place... What else you want.
Only they need to improve their ventilation, rest all is perfect!

Went for breakfast at this place on 27 Jan 2019 at around 8 am. The restaurant was just opened. The food took some time to deliver but the wait was worth it. Paper dosa was huge and idli wada sambar was perfect. The only problem was the dosa and chutney was very sweet. But rest all was really appreciable.

, is always one of the options to celebrate birthdays,anniversaries or any occasion with family. Service provided is fast and good. The ambiance of this restaurant is amazing-full of lights and pictures. They have a great variety of vegetarian food which is delicious and worth the money.

A good place for vegetarian food. Had gone here for a lunch. The place was quite full. We ordered a masala papad, paneer tikka and rotis. Masala papad was very tasty. Talking about the tikka it had many paneer pieces but it would have been better If they were cut into small places and not so huge pieces. Also the vegetables were cut into big pieces in it. But the taste was good so no issues. Overall good experience.

A very well known veg restaurant. Pick any dish and you won't be disheartened. Situated exactly to the other side of Balgandharva. I've been here many times and have tried various dishes for lunch and dinner. Do not know much about the snacks.

One of the best places to go for authentic Indian food! I love the flavors at Viceroy and the staff is really friendly and helpful. Being Indian, I like the fact that the food is absolutely authentic and healthy (not submerged in loads and loads of oil like other places). You won't be disappointed, your stomach will be happy and your wallet won't be completely empty. Now this is my favorite indian restaurant. Gandharv Restaurant's food is definitely the most enjoyable and flavorable. Try the the viceroy special biryani and butter chicken. You will want to keep coming back for more. It also looks like they did a little remodeling. Looks very nice.We've tried most of the restaurants but eventually come up with this as I found Great service. Wide selection of...You cannot find a better...This place is the best.

I have been visiting this restaurant since 2002. A nice place of pure vegetarian food. Their idli, dosai and medu vadai are good. North Indian curries and breads are good. Veg Tawa masala is the best among curries, while veg biryani is the best among rice preparations. Chilli paneer, gobi manchurian and tomato soup are delicious too. Ambience is okay and cleanliness is acceptable. The A/C section on the first floor has better interiors. Their fixed menu "thali" is wholesome. Prices are on the lower side. I recommend this place to veg food lovers.

We went to the place numerous times for BDay Bash, team lunch. The place serves good food with good price, the quantity is also good. Taste is appreciative. Service was awesome, they tried their best as we were a group of around 25. Well managed space and can accommodate a group of 40 people easily. Can try if you reside/ have office nearby.

This one's a generic veg restaurant.
The medu vadas are humongous. Triple rice+noodle is good, so is dosa.
Service is quick enough. A safe bet if you don't expect much.
Food was nice. Crispy veg manchurian i liked the most. Paneer dilruba is not so spicey. Naan was well baked and buttered. One of the best option for veg food.
This place is our family restaurant!! I've been having food here since I was a child. The quality has been consistent over the years. The prices being always in budget even for a large party. I've had almost tried everything on the menu. I'd suggest their rava dosa for snacks. All paneer sabji and pulav for main course. I like their American chopsey too.

Sambar and Chutney served with South Indian dishes are yummy. And, unlike other Udupi Restaurants, they serve 3 Steamed Idli’s instead of 2.
The Palak Masala Dosa and Medu Wada are equally good.

I'll start with the pros first.
I've been here twice and both the times was satisfied about the good quality and quantity of the food delivered. Masala Papad, Veg Marata, Rava masala dosa, Crispy vegetables were good.
Ambiance is average.
Cons is mainly the speed of the service. Seems like the should add more manpower.

Gandharv is a really good place for having South Indian breakfast. There is lot of variety and the South Indian food is good for the price. Also this place serves North Indian dishes which are also descent. It's a good old choice of family restaurant. The service is super quick even in rush hours. There is generally a wait here on the weekends. Overall a pretty descent place.

Most convinient restaurant with central location. This is like any other JM road restaurant. Parking might be prob but options are available. My fav here has always been sabudana wada but have tried many things southern dishes as well. Just as any other place in that area its good ol typical one.

A complete family restaurant better than others in this area; Crowded but peaceful, no traffic or parking problem outside & no congested seating inside. A well-managed restaurant with good food to enjoy with your loved ones, we ordered Masala Dosa, OT Uthappa, Pav bhaaji & Masala Paav. Personally, I loved the Masala Paav & the way it was made. The excessive bhaaji over the top of the paav with the extra load of butter melting is surely a different way of the making of the dish but it was the best dish I ordered. Overall, it’s a scrumptious meal eating place if you’re looking for some good vegetarian food.

Very good family restaurant.. offers wide variety of vegetarian dishes. Tried the veg jalfrezi and it was good. However the rotis were a little hard..if you're visiting on sunday make sure you reach as early as 7 or reserve tables it gets crowded. This restaurant is always crowded.. And I have seen it like that since many many years...
Ambience is not really their forte.. Seating arrangement is a bit congested..
And if u happen to visit their section upstairs on a hot, sunny afternoon, be prepared to get drenched in sweat as ventilation is not good and 1 fan is kept between 4 tables.. They've got to do something about it..
Coming to food -- it is pocket-friendly and tasty.. My Masālā Dosā had some 'sajuk tup' (साजूक तूप) on it which very few udipi restaurants put on the Dosā.. :-)

I've been coming here since many years and the quality and the service have remained unchanged. The ambience is nice and one can either sit outside looking at busy road or inside in the dining area. A life size painting of famous musicians and singers adorns one of the walls inside. This place is always crowded especially in the evenings. Amongst the South Indian specialties, Onion Uttappa, Rava Masala dosa and Medu Wada are the best. The Pav Bhaji is also great. The filter coffee served here is highly recommended and one must have it after any meal. The portion sizes are good. The service is fast and this place is great for all breakfast, lunch and dinner. Parking can be an issue as they do not have a dedicated parking space. Still, go ahead and visit this place for awesome South Indian food and Filter Coffee!

One of the many meeting places to have cafe, tea & something to munch on with conversation.. This place is no other & we had ordered usual south Indian dishes.. Paper dosa is 4 feet tall & it's a mammoth task to finish it.. along with it we had ordered rava masala dosa and pav bhaji.. service is fast and food is decent. To finish we filter coffee which was brewed hot.. This place is pretty famous and you can expect waiting time on weekends..

Well if you love vegetarian do visit gandharv although i am a non vegetarian so i mostly visit this place for breakfast when i stay near deccan area they ample area for parking ,good ambience and the poori-baaji and chai was too good!!
Located just opposite Bal Gandharv theater, this place serves excellent North Indian food.We had ordered the Jain version of Baby corn kadai, Dal,Paneer Butter Masala and all of them tasted pretty good. The butter naan had butter dripping from it ! The service is ultra fast and the quantities good too.

I remember having laughed for 5 mins straight when I heard my cousin suggesting me the dish Chilly-Milly (that was the first time I had heard of that dish and according to my cousin they serve good Chilly-Milly). I have visited this place quite some times. The waiting time on Holidays is a lot. Also there parking is an issue here because the restaurant doesn't have any dedicated parking space. The food is pretty good though. So you can definitely go and have a satisfactory lunch or dinner here.

Service seems bit slow we can assume there must be staff problem as some of the staff seems new and wasn't having any experience of service so the service it is 3/5 .
come to food we had ordered there deluxe thali which cost 140 per head pretty decent thali the content was paneer mutter , rassam ,one more gravy veg , one green veg , dal , rice ,curd , kheer , papad and tw upo tandoori roti . and tomato soup before starting your meal which was have fair taste of tomato soup quantity is fair enough for a person u cant have anything beyond that .
quality wise it okey u cant expect more than this in this much of price overall it was good experience if u are in hurry and search for something near balgandharv u can give a try . food its 4/5

I have never been fond of this place but thought of giving it a try with family! A decent looking restaurant which I know is quite old and is listed in few of top favorites for Punekars. The food quality is good and the seating is also appropriate. However, improvement is required in terms of service and cleanliness. Definitely a pocket friendly one!
This place is one of the best places for vegetarian food in this area ... JM road is filled with all the Vegetarian restaurants but this one is my favourite..... It is always packed and the quality is not compromised .... Light on pockets too....

We had ordered crispy vegetables,butter naan,rice and paneer and mushroom gravy(which was made on our special request) as we craved for both paneer and mushroom. It was awesome and a really good experience with food and all.
We ordered masala papad as a starter which is basically like everybody ordered that. I can't believe I'm saying that but that was the most amazing masala papad I ever tasted. The shev was very rich and a lot. I happened to like बारीक शेव so that was happiness for me.
Then we ordered Kaju paneer masala, roti and dal khichadi as main course. Kaju paneer masala was very delicious. I thought, it would be less spicy and somehow sweet but that wasn't the case it was spicy not a lot spicy. Loved it.
Roti was made by mix maida and wheat so it was soft it was plain tandoor roti and it was still soft.
Dal khichadi was absolutely delicious. There was तूप on top of that. And it tasted more good with आंब्याच लोणचं yeah they give you with onion and lemon. It was just wow. Kaju paneer masala and dal khichadi was enough for 3 people
For dessert we ordered lassi which was very sweet. I'm not that much of a sweet tooth.
Service is a little slow but that's okay.

Hotel Gandharva, in the name of Bal Gandharva Rangmandir. Pretty old hotel off Jungli Maharaj road. Exactly opposite to Bal Gandharva rangmandir. Obviously in a prime area. Famous for snacks and tea.
Service was good. Though I went at the rush hours time on Sunday evening the waiters were very courteous. Food was also good but not great. Taste and quality standards are maintained. Being in the prime area, vehicle parking is a big challenge. Two wheelers can be adjusted by parking on the limited space and sometimes on footpaths. But four wheeler parking is a real challenge.
Overall experience was good.
